(00:00):
I have an update for you onour dear friend Courtney Donahoe, who has
been for years our financial reporter fromBloomberg and as you know if you're a
regular here, she's been out foran extended period after a cancer diagnosis,
and she's been undergoing some very aggressivetreatment. And I told her at the
beginning, I said, I'm notgoing to bug you, because I know
(00:21):
what it's like. I don't wantto be on your five yard line all
the time demanding information. But soit had been a while, but I
just reached out Saturday morning, Jim, and then she called back in the
afternoon. We had a nice talkand there was very good news, good,
very good news. She has onemore treatment scheduled for May first,
and then she's chemotherapy and then she'stargeting being back on the air with us
(00:46):
on May thirteenth. No guarantees yet, but that's cool, that's the plan,
that's the goal. Awesome, Yeah, she's she said, there's no
evidence of cancer at this moment. The scans look good, the blood tests
look good, and it has been, as everybody knows, a real struggle.
And I was just so delighted tohear that because we hadn't heard anything,
(01:08):
you know, for a long time. We see an occasional post.
Yeah, she sounded great. She'salways so positive, much more than I
could be, I think under thecircumstances. But she sounded wonderful. Well,
I know that every time she postssomething on Facebook, whether it's about
herself or her kids, mostly abouther kids, there's an amazing outpouring from
(01:30):
Omaha, more so than New YorkCity, and that's very warm and comforting
for her, more than any ofthe other markets that she serves. So
she really appreciates you. Yeah, and I'm glad to hear that, because
you're right, we kind of madea vow that we're not going to hear
what's going on. How you doit. Yeah, We'll just sort of
(01:53):
let her go through and then she'llreach out to us when she's ready.
And I'm really pleased that she hada visit with you. That's great news.
Ain't the May shooting for? Well, that's what we're shooting for,
and we're talking about three weeks now, right, good? Well whatever that
is about three and a half weeks. But she said they're being very vigilant,
(02:14):
of course, and warning her orcautioning her that it could return in
a different place, and everybody knowsthat's possible, but for the moment,
everything is, everything is up.And then she had to then she had
to be in a walking boot fora while. That girl never gets a
break. Broke her toe in themiddle of this. Dropped the dish on
(02:35):
it ouch. Yeah, but itdoesn't matter. Whenever I talked to her,
she just sounds bubbly like her oldself. And I don't know how
she does it, but well, her parents are close by, which helps
a lot, and they're there basicallyhelping helping her in the family. So
it's really really cool to hear fromher again, and it's awesome and pass
along that update. She is shoppingat the bit to get back on here
(03:00):
and us too, And I appreciateScott, everybody, Denise and Joan and
Dan, everybody who's been filling infor Courtney. It's been fun chatting with
them too. But it'll be greatto get her back. Well, we
haven't had the Village idiot all well, he's uh, he's They've they've put
him in a different place where hecan't be on KFAB because I do hear
(03:20):
him on the national broadcast when Idrive in, I get the Bloomberg Report,
just to find out what the world'sstill spinning on its axis. And
he he's there with Michael Barr andCareen Moscow and Nathan Hager and some of
the other ones that are that arepart of the Bloomberg's John Tucker, by
the way, the Village which nameaffectionately calls him, he's he's anything but
(03:42):
very smart guy. Uh So wehave not had him. He's the only
one of those, you know, superstars that it hasn't appeared on k Incidentally,
she said, Bloomberg has been greatthrough this whole thing. They've there's
been no issue with salary or coverageor anything. So, yeah, that's
good to know. It's pretty rare. Yeah, yeah,
