Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's welcome twenty four to seven News national correspondent Rory
O'Neil the program because Rory's uncovered something that the border
patrol is finding besides fentanyl. Rory Ride, good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Yeah, good morning. Keep these numbers in mind. Since October now,
border officers have seized three thousand, seven hundred sixty eight
whole tree products compared to three hundred fifty two fentanyl products.
So we're getting ten times more the eggs and poultry
coming across the border than we are fentanyl. And it's

(00:34):
really become a big issue since we saw the spike
and egg prices. Of course, thankfully, in just the past
couple of weeks, we have seen egg prices fall significantly,
I think down forty four percent in just the past
three weeks. So Humpty dumpty is having quite a fall
right now.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Well, I know it's mine hadn't dropped my store, hadn't
dropped him in a week.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
That's the wholesale prices. So they'll get out there.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Okay, So you know what I do? You know were
they for? Did they have coolers? Did they have them
in coolers? Because you don't want rotten eggs, believe.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Me, Well, no, but for the most part, the eggs
that are being brought in from Mexico, it's like in
a thirty pack. It's not some huge amount of ten
thousand eggs. It's people who are doing more of their
grocery shopping over the border. But finding out the hard
way that you cannot bring eggs or egg related egg
based products into the US.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
No, and most only the US refrigerates eggs. Everybody else
keeps them at room temperature.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
What yeah, Oh my gosh. They have to wash.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
So the use of the USDA requires they wash a
coating off the eggs of protein that otherwise would lead
them shelves stable. So you go anywhere else in the world,
you're just going to see eggs in the regular aisle
next to the laundry detergent.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Well, they better eat them right away then, because they
don't last. They do last. Okay, Well, I've only acted
eggs in another country in Mexico and they were refrigerated.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Well there you go, all right.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Anyway, all right now, I got this picture of these
guys bringing eggs over there. All right, now, the Democrats
have a problem. Rory. These numbers are brutal.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
They are twenty nine percent approval of the Democratic Party.
That's the lowest number that CNN has ever recorded in
their polling, which dates back to nineteen ninety two. And
they're seeing a big fall off in Democrats and Democratic
leaning voters who are frustrated and don't like their own party.
Sixty three percent of Democrats and Democratic leaning independents actually

(02:40):
have a favorable opinion of their own party these days.
So it is a party in search of a message
and a messenger.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
I wonder who that will be. You know. Gavin Newsom
is trying hard, yep, and he's so slippery, but I
mean he's got this podcast, he's bringing conservatives on it
and everything. He's trying ocposition himself. Some people are suggesting
AOC right for the standard bearer.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Right, that's the fact that people just know her name
or more her initials. We were also seeing Governor Shapiro
from Pennsylvania. He was on with Bill Maher this week
for his show, so perhaps he's trying to raise his profile.
And of course we got word that Pete Buddha Jets
won't be running for the US Senate, which suggests he's
going to focus on a presidential run.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Of his own. I'll tell you what Shapiro is really good.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
And the governor of Delaware is another one who might
be in the mix.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Of well, the other guy who watches the Wes Moore,
governor of Maryland. He is an extraordinarily gifted guy. I
don't know a lot of his politics, but he's retired
military and his taking charge of this bridge collapse has
gotten him a lot of national attention.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
And we like governors. American voters like governors. They more
so than members of Congress or the Senate. Governors have
to balance budgets that they have a track record, you
can pin on them, So the voter tends to like
a governor. And the Democrats have a pretty strong bench
of governors at the ready.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
And you need to find somebody who's not afraid of
the progressive base, of the progressive wing right, because what
we're seeing is it's about twenty five or so percent
that's Shapiro right.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
And the other issue is the policies Donald Trump is
rolling out are popular with Americans, broad based across the board.
Securing the southern border, cutting government spending, downsize in the
federal government, popular regardless of party. So now the Democrats
are being forced this week. The Democrats are now standing
with accused of Venezuelan gang members. That's who they're with

(04:44):
this week. So they really got to figure out a
better way to handle.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Well, that's a winner, isn't it. Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:49):
I mean, that's just, to me, is political suicide. If
you're a Democrat and you're not coming out saying get
them the hell out of here. I don't care who
it is and where they're going, just we don't want
them in this country. To not be on that side
of this is just insanity, it is.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
And that's what makes it so much harder, even for
members of their own party to try to figure out, like, hey,
wait a minute, now, where are we putting our flag
and what hill are we going to die on? And
it wasn't going to be usaid now it's not. I
doubt it's going to be Venezuelan's who are accused of crimes.
Figure out something.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah, and how about this, how about we don't automatically
disqualify any politician who happens to be pro life? How
about that?

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Rory?

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Thank you, it's always great, always good to chat. Rory O'Neill,
