(00:00):
Pleasure to welcome Iowa US Senator JoniErnst back to the program. It has
been a while, Senator. Goodmorning, Yeah, good morning. Great
to be with you. Great tohave you with us. Quick comment on
the President. He's over at theG seven and I think we all hold
our breath a little bit when thepresident gets on the world stage. What
are you expecting over there? Well, keep it brief. I don't expect

(00:24):
great things coming out of Joe Biden. He is very weak and feeble on
the world stage. And other worldleaders notice this every time I travel abroad.
You know, these Americans are excuseme, these world leaders are always
asking US Americans, hey, whereis American leadership? Because they certainly don't

(00:44):
feel it coming out of this WhiteHouse. It has been eight years already
since Sarah Root was killed. Ithink it was on our graduation d a
young woman from Council Bluff and hitby a drunk driver and killed. Driver
was in this country illegally. Hisname was Eswain Mahea. He vanished and
has not been seen since because hewasn't held. And you have been trying

(01:07):
to get Sarah's law through pretty muchever since. Senas blocked continually by Democrats.
What is their problem with this,Well, it simply is that we
want to hold people accountable. Andthe Democrats, especially nowadays, they are
notorious for not wanting to wade intodifficult waters. And of course we know

(01:30):
with everything that's going on at theborder, we basically have catch and release
at the border. We have allof these people that cannot be vetted pouring
into the United States. We seethis with Mehea, who struck and killed
Sarah Route many years ago, andinstead of standing up and doing the right
thing and holding these people, now, the deal with him is he was

(01:53):
released. He was released on bail, so he got out and of course
he's going to disappear because he's inthe legal immigrants and so he has disappeared
and we cannot get justice for Sarah'sfamily. So these Democrats, they are
just so worried about being politically correct. You know, we have to take

(02:15):
care of these poor folks that arecoming into the country. But not everyone
is here, you know, forgood means. This gentleman, he had
been caught by police before doing misdeeds. This time it went too far and
he actually killed a young woman onher graduation day and he has absconded,
he has not been seen since. And there should be nothing wrong with holding

(02:39):
someone who is here illegally until theycan go through the court system and have
their time in front of a judgeand jury. But for whatever reason,
the Democrats don't want to do this. They don't want to hold people accountable.
That's why we see crime rising allacross the United States and these major

(02:59):
metro areas. For heaven's sake, folks, we've got to have different leadership
in the White House and all throughthe administration. Jonny, has this been
uh? Has this been on thefloor for debate? Because if they're gonna
if they're gonna kill this bill, they have to at least say that there's
that there's a reason they oppose it. And I can't imagine what it would

(03:20):
be. You've got somebody in thiscountry who shouldn't be here in the first
place. They're driving drunk motor vehiclehomicide and we can't hold them. What
do they What do the Democrats sayabout this? And they do? They
come down and they block this bill. Ever, believe me, I have
been on the floor of the suna many times trying to get this over
the finish line and they will justsend one lonely person down to the floor

(03:43):
to object to this bill. Andwhat they say is, oh, what
if there's some woman that's an illegalimmigrant and she, you know, is
a subject of domestic violence, andyou know she strikes her husband, and
you know all of these outlandish excuses. And I'm like, hey, I
will work with you. I willwork with you Democrats, because we want

(04:09):
to protect women that are abused. But they won't. They won't. They
just don't want to do it.I wish we had more time. Senator
always good to have you with us. Oh gosh, yeah, Well,
you got to make sure those peopleare eligible to vote in a few years.
That's why you don't want to lockedup, because they're here so that
they can be made into citizens orgiven some sort of special classification so they

(04:30):
can vote, and then they're goingto start running them into congressional districts to
ensure that Republicans don't win. Ifanybody can't see this, it's because they're
not looking. Come on, exactly, exactly, there's a reason, and
I think you just nailed it.Senator Jony Ernst, Us, Senator for
