Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now it's a great pleasure to welcome Dan Schneider back
to the program, Vice president at the Media Research Council
and NewsBusters. Dan, Good morning, Verry, good to be with you,
with you you beg good to have you back. It's
been incredibly tough five or six days for this country,
and I know you guys have been tracking what has

(00:21):
happened in the media regarding the Charlie Kirk assassination and
and much of it is very depressing. Frankly that I
think they're probably careful Dan, to not be celebratory but
over the death, although many of them probably like to be.
But but they they are insistent on focusing on anything

(00:43):
negative they can about Charlie Kirk.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Right, Well, it's not only as they're focusing on anything
negative they can, they're also manufacturing things to be negative about. Well. Yes,
so many in the media has said to Charlie Kirk
for the controversy figure and that he had controversial views.
And what they really mean is that Charlie Kirk had
views that he shared with eighty percent of Americans, but

(01:09):
not with these left wing reporters. Yeah, and any view
that these left wing reporters disagree with those of the
views they claim are controversial and then gary. Of course,
the worst of all is when some of these reporters
and some of these so called journalists have blamed Charlie
for his own assassination, saying that it's his rhetoric that

(01:33):
is responsible for this, or that it's Donald Trump's rhetoric
that is responsible for left wing violence against people to
the left wing disagrees with.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
There was a hit piece yesterday in the USA Today,
and it contains what I've believed since this happened the
other day. The most maddening part of the coverage or
the common harry about Charlie Kirk are just blatant lies,

(02:05):
just blatantly. Here's this woman is writing about how sports
have traditionally been our healer, and she's got a problem
with some of the NFL teams and NASCAR and the
Yankees and Cubs and some college football teams honoring Charlie
Kirk before their games. And here's one of the things

(02:28):
she says is that's not a reason to whitewash the hate,
misinformation and brand of Christianity that were the foundation of
Kirk's influence, or to show him the respect he so
rarely showed others. That's a gross misrepresentation of what Charlie
Kirk was and what he said.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
It's an outright lie. Charlie was very decent and polite
with people he disagreed with. He invited them to have
conversations and discuss. And when there were those instances when
his debate opposite would educate Charlie on some fact that

(03:08):
Charlie didn't know, Charlie would admit and he would acknowledge
I did not know that. I will reevaluate my view
because of what I've just learned from you. He was
an honest, good, decent man who held conservative views, views
that eighty percent of Americans would agree with. It's just
the radical left hated him so much because he was

(03:31):
persuasive with people who are searching for answers, and the
left cannot stand to lose control over the people that
they've had in lassoes for so long.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Do you go back? I don't remember specifically the president,
the previous president Biden or people in his administration slamming
Charlie Kirk, but there's a piece in the Daily Caller
that says that did happen? Do you know?

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Yes? And that piece is written by Luis Cornelio who
worked for me. We discovered that under Joe Biden and
Secretary of Majorcas at DHS, that the Biden administration was
using our tax dollars that were supposed to be used

(04:22):
to catch terrorists at the border, but using our tax
dollars to train people on how to infiltrate conservative organizations
and subvert them. And identified among the dozen or so
groups was Turning Point USA and Charlie Kirk. And these
groups were claiming that Charlie Kirk and Turning Point and

(04:42):
several other right of center groups like the National Rifle
Association and Maggie itself, that these were terror connected groups
and had to be stopped. This is the Biden administration
and Secretary of mariorcis using our tax dollars, defaming an
attack making good organizations with people like.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Charlie Kirk right just another minute left. Dan Schneider from
Media Research Center, Dan, we asked the question broadly, which
is basically the number one question in America's over the
last five days. Is there a way forward? Can America heal?
And what will it take? What's your view?

Speaker 2 (05:19):
You know, what we've seen so far is that the
legacy media and I and by that, of course, I
do mean journalists on the radical left. They will not
yet concede the fact that the problem of violence in
the political stream here in America is coming from the left.
Maybe the trial of this assassin, when this assassin gets

(05:42):
up and talks about his radical views and how he
you know, his boyfriend is transitioning and it's because of
their hatred of Charlie on transitions, Maybe maybe that'll slap
the media in the station and they'll finally get the
story right. Maybe we'll see.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
One can help. Dan, thanks for the time, always appreciate
you coming on. That's Dan Schnight, Media Research Center here

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
