Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's time for Richie and Papillion and Richie, good morning.
I got this from Dennis on an email. Given the
results the last Nebraska in New York Giants games, I
suspect it will be Bitchy from Papillion, not Richie from
Papillion this morning, and he's calling in a call for
firings and benchings. Good morning, Richie, Good morning guys.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
How are we doing. Rosie's off again?
Speaker 1 (00:24):
So okay, So everything's right with the world, right, everything's normal,
thing's right.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
With the almost. Yeah, last weekend was not good, you know,
you know, Nebraska game was just a disaster and then
my Giant game was an epic collapse. But you know
that's my life. What am I going to do?
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Never ends for you, like you never ends.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
It just never ends. You know. You just wonder, wonder
what's going to happen now, and you see something, you know,
you think you see everything, and then you don't see everything.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
So it's like you told me last year, next life,
no football, walk football.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Walk the parks music. Yeah, stuff like that. I can't
take it anymore. This is you know, they should have
something the Nebraska football and New York Giants football, like
they have on cigarette cartons, you know, hazards to your health.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Yea. So how do you recover from that debacle? Faye?
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Yeah, well, you know you got to move on that.
There's nothing you can do. You know, we can get
the six and two and get a bowl game and
play well tomorrow, like learn from these mistakes. I mean,
I just I've never seen anything like the offense. You know,
they're blaming the offensive line and everything. It was more
than that, you know, we have we don't play compliment
complimentary football. I mean, the backs aren't blocking, or the
(01:44):
quarterbacks holding the ball, the offensive line isn't blocking anybody
in the guy. It's just unbelievable. Look, that's the well
coach Minnesota team, and they they knew what was gonna
you know, hurt us, and they did it and we
just didn't recover. So we have no opportunity tomorrow against
the team we should we should be.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
It's difficult for me, I gotta say, it's difficult for
me to imagine. I mean, the players are one thing.
It's difficult for me to imagine. Uh, the season, high
paid professional coaches had to be convinced by the head
coach and they couldn't be that this was going to
be a brutal game. That's not good.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Man, Right, So you're with me now with this kind
of stuff. I didn't bring the coaches up. You brought it.
I mean, like the offensive line coach, who I don't know.
The only reason he's there.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
We know why you're there, right, I think.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
I mean, there's a lot of things going on there,
but you know it's I don't know. I think coach
will I think a lot of the problems last week
was from distractions. Also, no one was talking about that.
That Penn State stuff has got to go away now.
I look, I don't think they want him anyway now,
so but I don't know. We'll see. But you know,
(02:57):
we over confidence, not prepared, possible. I I don't know,
but he put it out there. I think they're going
to be focused. I really do this week. So let's see.
But I'm not saying anything about coaching right now. Let's
wait until Sunday.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
We're not firing anybody until next Friday.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Okay, it's very possible. Yes, they might all go next Friday.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
I don't know, Richie. When Nebraska plays Minnesota and Northwestern,
it's all ways a battle. What do you think is
going to happen in tomorrow's game. It's good.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Well, it's gonna be a battle tomorrow for the simple
reason's going to be hardly any possessions. Northwestern runs the
ball thirty five to forty times a game, so we're
gonna we have to run the ball. I think we
got to ride on big time. He's the leading rusher
in the Big Ten. Give him twenty twenty five carries
like we did against Cincinnati, you know. And I'm red
(03:46):
zone offense. We've gotta get touchdowns, not field goals, you know,
and once in a while, if somebody's opened down the field,
get the ball out quick. Help the offensive line because
you're gonna have limited possessions tomorrow, and we have to
stop the run on first down. Get this quarterback into
third and lungs and make them make mistakes. Pressure him.
I think they got one good receiver and our secondary
(04:07):
can handle that. And the main thing on defensive tackle.
Get off these blocks. And I have these long runs
from what I'm understanding, and I read that they get
like four yards to carry after contact. That's that's unbelievable.
So and I think special teams could be the wild card. Tomorrow. Again,
we're gonna have limited possessions. I think it's gonna be
a very quick game. So on your possessions, you're gonna
(04:28):
have to get touchdowns and and defense get off the field.
You know that. That that's it. We're a better team
than them, we know that. But they're very well coached,
and they don't they don't make they don't have penalties
and make mistakes. So we've got to be Careful's dangerous
game again.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Unlike most Northwestern teams, though, this one is turnover prone,
so you know, and if we haven't had a turnover
into what two games, Yeah, we.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Got to get some turnovers to and and when you
get a turnover, make them pay. That's important. So I mean,
let's just get out there when this this eleven o'clock stuff.
I don't this time either, So but.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
What are you to do? I think this is a
must you know, you talk about must wins a lot, Richie.
I think this one is because this could go south
in a big hurry if you lose this one.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
If you get the six and two, that's a decent record.
You're Bowl eligible, you know, in October. So that's what
we want, all.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Right, you'll be there.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
You got to get up early, right, I know, I
know God, I know I know Jim. And then then
go right to the to the game.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
All right man, all right, well look keep the faith.
We're all hope always, all right, Richie, thanks or fishing fan.
There he goes. You bet Richie and Papillion
