Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ritchie and Papelion is here. Vent is spleeing after a
tough weekend for Richie's college and pro teams and Huskers
and Giants, and spent the week reviving himself. Richard, good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Good morning, guys. How are we doing all.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
Good with you? Are you okay now?
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Or well? You know, it takes a few days, but
we move on. The sun came up. I guess, so who.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Gets fired in Richie world this week or last week?
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Well, I'm still dealing with my NFL team, but not
nobody yet over here. I look that game. Yes, we
should have won that game. We all know it. I
think ray all were going down really hurt us. But
I mean there was some things that went on in
that game, like the clock management. Again, I mean, what
are we doing calling time outs like in the third
quarter and we're trying to make them jump off sides
(00:46):
make a decision either go for it or kick the
field goal or even take the five yards. I don't care,
but don't It's just like we do things that I
just don't understand. And we had fourteen six halftime lead,
we were controlling the game. We get the turnover and
I don't know Once Rayola went down, things changed a
little bit, but still it was still there for us
(01:06):
to take.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
I thought, at least, yeah, this was you know, this
one's on the sideline. I think the Minnesota loss is
on the sideline, and I think this one was on
the sideline.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
You know, the.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Kids follow the coach. I know we're in a new
era of pay for play and everybody's a free agent
and everybody's a professional, but I just really believe the
state that the kids follow the lead of their coach,
and if their coach is calm, level handed, cool, doesn't
get rattled by adversity, then the kids follow that. On
the other hand, if the if the coach loses its
(01:37):
cool gets after the officials, then the kids are distracted
by that too, And I think that was on display
during that that dreadful stretch there in the third quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Well, you know the game. The game plan actually was
pretty good last week of great. I mean, we ran
the ball white thirty short passes. Think yeah. I think
what happened also showed us that we don't have a
second running back because Emma can only do so much.
We needed to run a little bit more, actually, and
we couldn't because we don't have that number two running
(02:05):
back that can go in there and get those yards
that we need. I mean Edmondson NFL running back.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
There's not even a question he'll be running back this year,
and I think he'd take for it here. I think
we do have a second running back now, Ritchie the quarterback.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah, that is true, but I know that's true. It's
going to bring it, bring something to the offense. But
he's still a freshman and stuff. I think the best
way to we had to protect him, and the best
way to protect him is to run the football and
play good defense and then you know, let him take
off a couple of times. He's still a freshman quarterback.
So I mean, you could see he clearly wasn't ready
(02:40):
last week. You could see that. I thought I saw that.
So hopefully with reps this week, he's going to be
a little bit better and and and more calm, I
would think, But I don't know, we'll see. I am
very concerned about their quarterback. This guy's like a tank.
And we all know what these quarterbacks they back in
the nineties they did to us. So I can see
(03:01):
this guy going off and oh my god. You know,
we'll see.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
H They are just not very good, especially Richie. I
have you've seen these guys. They are so soft on defense.
They can't stop the run. They have problems with dual
threat quarterback. Unless we put it on the ground five times,
that changes things.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Well, I've heard all of this stuff before, and then
at the end of the game somehow we lose. So
we got to go out and play a good game.
And I think special teams is a huge advantage for
us this week also, But we have to exploit their weaknesses.
I think I know they can't stop the run. We
should run the ball forty forty five times again and
use the tight end a little bit.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Richie and I Rosie. Richie and I were texting right
after the game last Sat. That's trouble, and Richie renewed
his offer. Now you don't You wouldn't require a big
salary to go down there.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
No, no, on the side. I want one of those
those those sweet jackets. Yeah, you know those nice media
passes that you put around in a parking spot. And
I'll stand right next to coach and say, hey, don't
do that. It's not hard. I can do this.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
As far as the clock management.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Clock management I'm pretty good at that. So if they
want me, I'm there.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
That's a pretty great you know, I think you got you,
along with eighty five thousand orthopedic surgeons, would be very
very happy to change roles on game day.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Yeah, and you don't gotta pay me. Like I said,
you know one of those nice jackets like little parking
passes that you can you know, walk around with. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Absolutely, Okay, Well, well I'm passing that a Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Absolutely, that's in along.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
You know, he's in New Yorker too, so I can
I can talk to him. I can talk to him.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
That's right. Why why did Dylan Royola go to back
to your home state for surgery?
Speaker 2 (04:44):
I wonder he went From what I understand, he went
to the uh special Surgery. The Giants use it actually,
and they got some really good, good doctors, and you
know they do that for a lot of the teams.
It's just nothing wrong with that. The Nebraska doctors was awesome.
Plus again, you know coaches from there, so special surgery
(05:05):
of something. I know, the Giants use it a lot
and they're very good. Gon he got taken care of.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
It's not that unusual for kids to go somewhere else
for surgery.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Even Alabama is another one. A lot of people go too,
so it's good. It'll be okay.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
It's gonna be tough waiting until eight o'clock tomorrow night, Richie,
I hate.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Oh yeah, I know. It's another thing. Eight o'clock. Well
I get to I'll get to watch Oregon destroy Iowa.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Clean clean, clean out your gutters, take care of that tomorrow. Yeah,
that's the one to watch, Oregon Iowa.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
It really is over in Iowa.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
So as long as Oregon wins, that's that'll be the
one to watch. I don't want to hear that, you know.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Hey, Nchie, thanks man. We'll talk next week.
