Speaker 1 (00:00):
A few minutes here with our friend Rory O'Neil, twenty

(00:03):
four to seven News national correspondent, on a couple of
items quickly. First, Rory, about what we found out about
what the biggest concerns were Americans headed of this election
three weeks from today. Good morning, what did you find?

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Good morning? And we're following up or bank Rate is
following up on the basic question that we all know
the answer to. It's the economy, stupid right, but what
part of the economy in particular? This bank Rate survey
finds forty one percent of Americans say inflation is their
top economic concern, followed by the costs of healthcare, affordable housing, employment,

(00:39):
and government spending. The rest are all about five percent
or below. But there's a big division. Fifty six percent
of Republicans say that inflation is their top economic concern,
only twenty eight percent of Democrats half feel inflation is
the top worry. They've also listed healthcare and affordable housing
is top three.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
They probably have more money on average, maybe the Democrats
and the survey.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
That are spending it on healthcare and housing there.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yeah, yeah, I mean inflation tends to really come home
and it gets very real when you don't make a
lot of money and you're trying to make ends meet. Also, Rory,
I've wondered about this trend too. Young people are leaving
big cities in increasing numbers.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Yeah, and when they say young, they just mean younger
than us. Let's make that clear. We're talking to the
University of the University of Virginia looked at some census data,
specifically looking at the twenty five to forty four year
old demographic. They're the ones who are really moving out
of cities that have at least a million people in them.
The youngest people gen z ers or I guess leaving

(01:47):
it to Jen Alpha soon. They are still going to
the big city right after college graduation eighteen to twenty four. Yes,
they're still going there. But that important demographic twenty five
to four before, they're the ones who are really seeing
their incomes climb. They're the ones who go out and
eat at restaurants, they shopp in the stores downtown. That

(02:08):
demographic is the one leaving, opting instead for more rural
areas because of the high cost of living in these
big cities. And now it's just possible to work remotely
like never before. So there are a lot more options available.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
To well, and that's encouraging for small towns rejuvenation.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Well yeah, but if you like living in a small town,
if all the New Yorkers move in, it's not that
small anymore, so you have to balance that out at
the same time.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
I don't think you're going to have all of them,
but that's New York. Well, that was the interesting trend, Rory.
And I know you've got to run here, but I
noticed that one. I think this may have something to
do with it. A lot of small towns now are
having pretty cool upscale type businesses startups in these smaller communities,
and these folks have moved from larger towns. Interesting. Have

(02:57):
a good one, Rory. Thanks Rory O'Neil. Thanks Grey, twenty
four seven News National correspondent. It is seven thirty nine
Now News Radio eleven ten KFAB. I like this one
from Greg on email. Rosie said we saw that time
out against hate message during NFL games on Sunday. I

(03:18):
read an article about it on my newspeed. The article
mentions antie semitism, addie Muslim, addie black, and antie LGBTQ hate.
That's great, but I wonder if they want the hate
to stop against Trump and Trump supporters. Great point, Greg,
probably not that hates Okay.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
They're all still saying it. The fringies, the wackos on
the left are still calling him a threat to democracy.
They're still talking about a dictator. You know, they're flying
Hitler swatstick of flags underneath his flag. This is still
happening all over the country. You're seeing it on tw

(04:00):
You're talking about how this guy is the threat to democracy.
This guy's already been president once and the democracy and
the republic survived. This is the guy that believes in
free speech. This is the guy that believes in less government.
This is the guy that believes in personal freedoms and
individual choices. It doesn't want wars, but oh that's right.
This is the guy that wants to pull us out
of wars, and he's the threat to democracy. This is

(04:23):
why this election will go down as the one that
truly dumbed down the country. This is the presidential election
that started this role of really really disrespecting the intellect
of the voters by saying things that are categorically, factually,
materially untrue about each other. Just how dumb can we

(04:45):
treat the American people? That seems to be the theme
of this election. Also, I love this one from Adam
for this is from Adam the Carpenter, Rosie. We were
talking about yard signs. Adam says, not only do I
have no maga political yards, but no bumper stickers either.
Professing one's allegiance to make America great again only invites

(05:06):
property destruction and vehicles getting keyed. It's a shame that
one side of the aisle is so intolerant. However, Adam
says Adam the Carpenter, to help balance out the scales
a bit. If I arrive at your house to look
at a job and you have a blue Dot or
watching MSLDCT, MSNBC, your bid starts at a thousand dollars

(05:30):
and if you don't like that, you're free to hire
South of the Border construction. Thank you, Adam Studio at
kfabe dot com. You want to weigh in on anything,
or let us have it, or whatever's on your mind,
always happy to hear from you. Gasoline price is on
the rise again. National average price for a gallon of
regular gas rose to three twenty So if you want

(05:53):
cheap gas, you'll have to hit up Taco Bell, right,
they got the value man?

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Yoh yeah right.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
There's always a line of Costco gas.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yeah, there is.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
It's ten to fifteen cents lower than what you'd see
at the regular pumps and Check fil A's.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
It's unbelievable. I'm not complaining. It's just every time I
go by there, that's a good sandwich. It's it's not.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
It's not a sandwich that would cause me to drive
out of my way. But apparently we're in the minority.
If it's there and I'm hungry, sure,
