What's Trump Doing in Qatar?

Right now, I want to welcome Eron Evans to the program,
President of Winning Republican Strategies, on what was announced yesterday
over in Saudi Arabia.

Aeron, good morning, Good morning, great to be on.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Good to have you here. Six hundred billion dollar deal
that's pretty big and there are some some specifics, of course,
and some details this. Uh. Is this as big a
win for the US as it looks like it's huge.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
It's huge for the economy obviously, uh. You know, not
only is it financial investment here here back at home,
but it's also a huge win just for UH for
security in the future. I mean, I think one of
the big things that we see in it is part
of the six hundred billion is AI investment in partnership

(00:44):
with US, and you know that is that's blocking out
China from being an AI partner with the Saltias. And
I think when we also look at what's going on
in the Middle East, and you know, all of the
different radical terror groups that are funded by Iran and
which is obviously uh, you know, right across from from

(01:04):
Saudi Arabia, and one of Saudi Arabia's you know, literally
largest threats to their their financial insecurity future is Iran
and and so I think there's multiple things going on here,
but uh, you know, a very big win for you know,
economic future, very big win for UH safety and security
and trying to move move toward a more stable Middle East.

(01:25):
And uh, you know, while others have been, uh have
been talking, President Trump got on a plane and went
and is doing something as he has been doing from
day one. So I think it's a big couple of days.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Yeah, he's in Qatar now, just touched down there a
few minutes ago, or caught her or gout her. However
that I can never remember how you're supposed to pronounce that.
Everybody pronounces it differently. But anyway, he's off to off
the Qatar. Now, what about the defense piece of this, Aaron,
Given the fact that that area, that that section of

the planet is always basically a tender box, what is
in this what is in the defense piaece of this
that that that is good for us?

Speaker 2 (02:07):
So there's one hundred and forty two billion dollar UH
Saudi arms deal that will basically build a fortress of
allies that that insures that we can crush any I
ring I ran back in radical threats before they spread.
It's actually a really big deal. And again kind of
looking at the geography, I mean, you know, Saudi Arabia

(02:28):
is the the largest country in the Middle East, and
and so you know, it's a huge strategic partner. If
you even remember back you know, when when Iran actually uh,
you know, did the the full missile barrage on Israel.
Uh you know, it was uh, it was US ships
and it was also Saudy assistance that ensured that that Israel,

(02:51):
you know, was safe, and the Iranian missiles were actually
shot out before they bombarded Israel in addition to the
Israeli defenses. So I mean, I think, you know, strategically
there you've got uh, you know, it's it sits in
between uh Eyman uh and uh you know, and and
and Iran and Iraq, and I mean it's it's right

(03:13):
in the center of the tinder box, as you mentioned.
And so having a strong, you know, partner that's serious
about an economic future instead of a bunch of tribal
wars and and and terror groups could be a huge
asset and ally and uh and look, and it's also
important to remember, you know, I mean, Iran is the

(03:35):
greatest threat again you know, to the Salt East. And
so you know, Iran is wanting to restore the original
Persian Empire. Uh. That does not include, uh Saudi Arabia
being a sovereign nation. And so you know, you've got
a lot going on in that tinder box. And and
and the Saudis are it makes a lot of sense
to have a really strong alliance and uh and obviously

you know President Trump is trying to uh, you know,
get them to eventually join the Abraham Accords. And and
that will be the next big step of an even
more secure future.
