Speaker 1 (00:00):
Scott Vordiez. We welcome onto the program, Nebraska Senator Pete
Riggotts for a range of issues. We've got a lot
to talk about in limited time. Senator, good morning, and
thank you very much for being with us.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Good morning, Thanks very much for having me on.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Yeah, what should President Trump be saying and more importantly
doing right now and potentially in the future as it
relates to Iran?

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Senator, Right now, I think President Trump is doing a
fantastic job. Essentially, he's playing good cop, bad cop. Right
he is being a good cop saying Iran, he had
sixty days to come to a deal. You didn't do it.
Now Israel bombing you. You still got a chance to
get a deal here, but you're going to have to
give up your nuclear enragement and you can't have a bomb,

(00:47):
and ultimately that's where this has to end up. So
right now, I think the president's doing the right thing.
Hopefully iron will come to a census and realize that
there's no path forward with him to being able to
have an arrangement program nuclear weapon, and that's what we
got to keep working for. So, you know, the President
Trump in his first term put a bunch of sanctions
on Irun and made it stick. He brought their foreign

(01:10):
reserves down from one hundred and twenty two a half
billion dollars to less than fourteen billion dollars, so they
couldn't fund terrorist groups like Hezbollah and Hamas and Husi's
And we've got to go back to really hammering their
economy that way again, so they can't afford to fund terrorism.
And you know, otherwise they'll just do what they did
with Obama and with a Biden, just kind of draw

(01:31):
it out, just continue to play for time and try
and get a bomb Patie, which is why Israel had
to strike him, because they couldn't let that happen.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
There are those who can't stand the president, will never
say that he's ever done anything right. Let's remove those
opinions from the table on this for a moment, because
there are those on the MAGA side, and we're talking
about voices like Marjorie Taylor Green, like Tucker Carlson, for example.
We've got some conservative voices who are saying that President

(02:01):
Trump is really in the wrong here. They say, we
do not need to get embroiled in a foreign conflict
with Iran. Well, President Trump hasn't done that yet, how
much do you think the specter of Iraq has weapons
of mass destruction? We have to go in there and
get them. And then now we've got a little bit
more twenty twenty hindsight on that. How much do you

(02:23):
think all of that and the voice is saying, oh, yeah,
Trump's going to get us into World War three and
nuclear war before anything's actually happened. At how much do
you think that is playing into what some people are
saying is potentially the wrong road being going down by
the commander in chief.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Well, the thing that Trump's gonna get to a world
war free is just crazy talk. Look, President Trump has
been very clear that he wants to avoid bloodshed is big.
You know, look what he's doing with your brain right,
He's trying to end the war there because he's trying
to stop people from dying. He gave Ron a chance
to be able to negotiate here, but Israel is not
going to wait forever because they were worried that Iran

(03:03):
was going to be you know, the IAE or whatever,
the the International Atomic Energy Agency just said that had
just sanctioned or just said that Iran was not paying
attention that they they found evidence that they had gotten
nuclear Richmond up to eighty seven percent. They only need
to get to ninety percent to have a bomb. Israel's

(03:24):
not going to wait around for that, and so Trump
is trying to be the guy who can say, hey, Iran,
we can still get a deal here. But Israel's not
going to allow you to have a nuclear level you know,
enrichment program where you could create a bomb. That's just
not going to happen. And frankly, if Iran gets a
nuclear weapon, that's bad for not only Israel, but it's
bad for the United States. It puts all of our
troops in the area at risk as well. So you know,

(03:47):
President Trump, and like I said, its handling this really
really well. He's not getting involved directly. He's trying to
be the mediator here to get Iran to step down.
Let's remember he got India and Pakistan that could de escalate.
He's been trying to work with Putin. Putin doesn't want
to have peace. But you know, President Trump has been
the one who's been trying to de escalate and trying
to bring these situations down. I think he's doing a

(04:08):
great job.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
It seems to me that what Russia does here because
Russia and Iran are pretty well tied, and China might
be just looking for an opportunity to seize additional power
on the world stage. But it seems like President Trump
and China right now, with some of the pushing down
the road of some tariffs, even things like TikTok things
that are important to China, it looks like President Trump

(04:32):
is back channeling pretty well with China and Russia so
that those two nations can put the pressure on Iran
to prevent us from having to go to war. That's
my assessment. You're much closer to it than I am.
What's yours, well, I think it's very interesting.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
China is clearly staying out of this so far because
they know that they need to get oil from Iran,
and if they push too hard they're gonna get They're
gonna have trouble getting those supplies. So they really want
Iran to kind of come to some sort of deal,
but they can't really say anything because they are also
trying to get a rady and oil. Interesting about Russia though,
right Russia has been a staunch supposed ally of Iran.

(05:10):
They're beginning lots of drone technology. You know that sort
of thing. They've been the two countries have been working
back and forth, and Russia has been absolutely silent on this.
I mean they've made some like like like minor protests,
they really haven't gotten involved in this. And to me,
that says that you know, Putin is doing the counter here,
that Aaron's in a bad position and he doesn't want

(05:32):
to have anything anything to do with us. So again,
Auran's at a very weak point right now. Israel has
devastated Hamas they've just said, has been lost. Syria has
basically flipped on Iran. Noticed that of all the Arab
nations who kind of come out and made statements about
Israel bomb in Iran, Siria was not one of them.
Shiria has stayed silent on it. So Aroan's got very
few friends left. Now. This is the time we got

(05:54):
to push them. This is the time we got them.
Get him to come to the table. Ali Khmani has
got to come into this realization. He can't have a
nuclear Richmond program, and that's what we have to keep
pushing for.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Nebraska Senator Pete rickets with us here on eleven ten
kfab for a few more minutes. Let's go back to
those voices who can't stand the president. They made their
voices known this past weekend with the no Kings rallies
across the country. Senator, do we have a king in
Donald Trump?

Speaker 2 (06:22):
I wonder if they message test that, because that doesn't
seem to resonate. I don't know that people really think
that that's an issue here in the United States. Look,
we've always had the balance of three branches of government,
the judicial, the executive, and the legislative. And right now
the executive branch is pushing on doing a lot of
different things. The judicial brand they're being sued. I mean

(06:45):
when Biden was in charge, we sued him too, right, so,
and it's getting worked out through the course. That's way
the system is supposed to work. So I think the
system is working the way it's supposed to work. Ultimately,
a lot of these things will get resolved in court
and we'll be able to push for on the president's agenda.
So I really don't I think this is I just

(07:06):
don't get where the folks who are saying no games
is coming from.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
We had immigration raids here in Omaha this past week
about just over a week ago, and of course rallies
in the streets against those protests. What do you think
about what President Trump has been doing related to arrest,
detentions and some deportations of illegal immigrants in this country,
including here in Nebraska.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Well, President Trump campaigned on and was elected to close
the border, which he's done. You know, border crossings are
down like what ninety four ninety six percent, the numbers
really have just dropped off tremendously. And he was also
hired to clean up this mess, and so that's what
he's been doing. Look, if you're here in the country legally,
you're breaking the law, and you know, he's he's definitely
decided to focus on the people who, you know, were

(07:53):
the criminals, which is obviously the top priority. People who
are beyond just breaking the law or you know, coming
here with legally, but are you know, committing crimes like
murder and rape and things like that. Those are the
people we should prioritize and get out first. But if
you if you're here illegally, you are breaking the law
and the law needs to be enforced. Now that doesn't
mean that, you know, there aren't things we may be

(08:15):
able to do to help some of these companies make
sure they're not hiring people who are here illegally, but
at the end of the day, if you're here illegally,
we got to enforce law.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Talking here for just a couple more minutes with Nebraska
Senator Pete Ricketts on news radio eleven to ten KFAB,
we we've seen also and this is this just happened yesterday.
A lot of people still looking at this, and I
don't know how much you've had a chance to look
at it. Last issue for you, Senator, the Trump administration
is ordered the National Suicide Prevention Hotline that specifically serves

(08:50):
LGBTQ youths shut down. And of course they didn't take
any funding away from the Substance Abuse, Mental Health Health
Services Crisis Hotline, but it has shut down this specifically
for LGBTQ callers. The press three option that has gone away.

(09:12):
Some people say this is going to lead to more
LGBTQ youth committing suicide in this country. If you had
a chance to look at this.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Issue, I gotta tell you, Scatt, I have not heard this,
so you just mentioned it right now. I would encourage
anybody who's using the hotline though, to get and talk
to a counselor whatever. You just start talking to somebody
if you've got those suicidal thoughts. Mental health is something
we need to all take care of. And if you've
got that suicide ideation, call and talk to somebody, use

(09:42):
one of the hotlines, call and talk to a friend,
anybody you got, but please reach out and ask for help.
You're mental health need to be taking care of, just
like your physical health. And so if you need that
kind of care, reach out and after help.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Yeah, nine to eight eight is that number? Well said,
here's what the White House that's about this specific shutdown.
It says our budget does not grant taxpayer money to
a chat service where children are encouraged to embrace radical
gender ideology by quote unquote counselors without consent or knowledge
of their parents. So it's certainly an issue that's caused

(10:19):
a lot of people to have thoughts on both all
sides of the issue. Just wanted to quickly take your
temperature on it. But like I said, this just happened.
I didn't know how much he had a chance to
look at it. Do you got a little vacation holiday
coming up this summer or are you guys working right
through the Independence Day holiday on the big beautiful bill.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Well, the President wants us to get the bill, the
Senate Bill Reconciliation Bill, done by July fourth. We are
supposed to be on a home works period right before that,
but I suspect we will probably be in Washington, DC
working to try and meet that deadline of July fourth.
I would say that's a stretch goal. We have a
lot of work to do to be able to get

(10:59):
the House bill into shape. There's a variety of things,
you know, on our side, we can't have policy. On
the Senate side, the House a lot of policy in
their bills, so we have to trip that out. We
think there's things we can improve on what they're doing,
like making permanent some of the things that businesses rely
on to be able to hire people and make investments,
that sort of thing. And then of course there's the
president's priorities of no tax on tips, no taps on overtimes,

(11:22):
no tax on American cars, giving our seniors a break.
So there's a lot of things that we're going to
be working on to be able to get this bill
in shape, and so we're going to try and hit
that deadline. But like I said, it's a stretch goal.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Is there something in this bill that some of your cohorts,
especially those on the Republican side, are trying to take out,
that you would like to see left in.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
I got to tell you, Scott, just the Finance bill alone,
part of it, this is the part on taxes that
came out of the Finance Committee, is five hundred and
forty nine pages. There are a gazillion different issues in here.
So there's a lot of stuff that there's a lot
of moving parts yet, of stuff that we're trying to
put in, stuff that's trying to come out. So yeah, man,

(12:03):
there's just a lot of different issues. I would say
the bones of it are good. We've got a solid foundation,
but you know, there's definitely tweaks that I'd like to
see in this thing. But it's kind of a moving
target every day.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Yeah. And meanwhile, you got Israel and around going at it.
That's a bit more than just a minor distraction at
this point, Senator Ricketts, I know that time is of
the essence. We appreciate the time you've given us this morning.
Thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Great, Thanks a lot for having me on, Scott, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
And Happy Independence Day to you and your family.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
All right, thank you too.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
There's a long interview between Tucker Carlson, formerly a Fox
News and Ted Cruz, Senator from Texas, but this is
the segment of that conversation that everyone is talking about.
It's probably hard to hear Tucker Carlson's or understand his
first question here because he says it so quickly. How

(12:57):
many people live in Aaron? By the way, he asks
Ted Cruz, how many people living around?

Speaker 3 (13:03):
By the way, I don't know the population at all. No,
I don't know the population. You don't know the population
of the country. You seek to topple.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
All right, they start arguing and fighting. Do you want
to hear that and then come back to this, let's
finish the SoundBite. But how many people living around? Ninety
two million? Okay, by the way, dumb move by Ted Cruz.
If someone asks you a trivia question, don't expect to
try and embarrass you. Do not fall into that trap

(13:34):
by throwing the question back at them. I guarantee they
know the answer. How many people living around? I don't
know who could possibly know that? Do you know? Yeah?
Ninety two million? Yeah, he asked you to try and
trap you and then they start fighting. How could you
not know that. I don't sit around memorizing population tables.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Well, it's kind of relevant because you're calling for the
overthrow of the government.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
I am not the Tucker Carlson bird on Iran who's
calling on WoT the country. No, you don't know anything
about the country. You're the one who claims they're not
trying to murder Donald Trump.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
I'm not saying that.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
Who can't figure out to say so? And you don't
believe they're trying to murder Trump? Yes, because you're not
calling for military strikes against them in retaliation carrying out
military strikes today, you said Israel was right with our help.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
I've said we Israel is leading them, but we're supporting them.
That's a bit of this battle between Tucker Carlson and
Ted Cruz. You don't know anything about Iran. You don't
know anything about Iran. Your mom didn't know anything about Iran.
So's your face about Iran. So the very first moments
of that, there's something in here that I wish. I

(14:47):
wish Ted Cruz and Tucker Carlson could have had a
more substantive comment and answer session about how many people.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
Living around, by the way, I don't know the population
at all, no or another population. You don't know the
population of the country you seek to topple, all right?

Speaker 1 (15:04):
That that is not an accurate statement by Tucker Carlson.
And I'm not speaking as someone who's automatically a fan
or a detractor of Tucker Carlson. I find him entertaining,
an informative, and at times I found him to be
dead on right. Sometimes I've found him to be I
thought dead on wrong. You know, he he is a

(15:27):
major and influential voice in conservative media. But he got
that one wrong. And Ted Cruz decided to get into
a battle of how many people are in Iran? What's
the population of Iran? Rather than focus on what Carlson
just said? What did he say? He said, you don't
know how many people live in the country you wish

(15:48):
to topple. First of all, if America wanted to topple
the country, what exactly does it matter how many people
live in that country? Does it matter if you have
a sovereign nation and you're looking to topple the leadership

(16:10):
of that nation. Does it matter whether we're talking about
the nation of a guy named Brad population brad or
Iran population apparently ninety two million. Does that matter? But
that's never Ted Cruz never said America or I want

(16:31):
to topple the regime.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Yeah he did, he did. He said.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
Here's what he said on Fox News this past Sunday.
Ted Cruz said, it is very much in the interest
of America to see regime change in Iran. He didn't say,
and We're going to go take care of that as
soon as possible. And he didn't say, and I hope

(16:59):
President Trump kills the entire Iranian leadership by noon on Tuesday.
He said, it's very much in the interest of America
to see regime change in Iran. Yeah, it would be interesting,
wouldn't it. It could be in our interest. It could

(17:19):
be worse. You know, a lot of these regime change situations,
we end up arming these rebels. These look like nice guys.
These guys don't like Russia anymore than we do. Let's
give money and training and support to some of these
rebels in Afghanistan, will give them everything they need. What
could possibly go wrong with this young man named Osama

(17:41):
bin Laden that we're supporting now. Didn't we put Kadafi
in power at some point in Libya, we don't have
a real good track record when it comes to so
called regime change, probably because so many of these nations
over there have a deep seated hatred and want to kill.

Speaker 5 (17:59):
Us well, and we don't do it well here either.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
No, it's sometimes it's a sarcastic and a great point
by Lucy Chapman. But when Ted Cruz says it's in
the interest of America to see regime change, it's probably
because Iran has said we want to kill Israel. We
want to wipe Israel off the map. Death to America,

(18:24):
Death to Israel. Yeah, that would be in our interest
to see a little bit less death to America coming
out of this nation. And what Tucker Carlson wants to argue,
because there's ninety two million people and Ted Cruz doesn't
know that, how come you can't answer trivia questions about
the country that you want to see regime change of

(18:46):
this handful of people who are trying to and want
to kill us. I know the population of Ayatola, coolmany
population him, and he's going to be a dot on
the pavement. He's gonna be a mirror on the sand
if he keeps this up. He has a chance right
now to do you have any idea what you're dealing

(19:09):
with with President Trump? If you decide to work with
President Trump, do you know how quickly Iran can go
from international group of fundamental Islamic despots to a place
with a brand new hotel and casino and golf courses,

(19:33):
And like, they're not going to do that in the
Islamic world. Have you never heard of Dubai. Dubai has
some of the same feelings, but you know what else,
they decided they like money, Western money. They love it.
And somehow Dubai and the UAE has been able to
court so much Western money by saying, by basically taking

(19:58):
a stance of yes, here in this nation, this region,
we do have our Islamic beliefs. Some of them are
more fundamental than others. We definitely do have these beliefs.
But you know, we're not going to force them on you.
We're not really going to downplay them. We're just not
going to force them on you. We're not going to

(20:20):
call for death to infidels, and we're going to create
an environment over here that's a beautiful place to visit.
And now they have so much money they're building islands
to put more real estate for people to come spend
all their money. They're building islands. I think out of cash.

(20:43):
What are we going to do with all this money?
I don't know, build another island, put some casinos on it.
How much money do we need to put to build
a golf course in an island? Eleven dy billion? I
happen to have that right here in my robe. Do
you have any idea how quickly Iran can go from

(21:04):
getting all blown up by Israel to becoming this bastioning
of freedom while still holding on to their Islamic beliefs,
because Islamic beliefs don't have to be death to Israel,
death to America. That's something that Iran and a handful

(21:24):
of others, probably too many others in that region have
clung to. But Dubai didn't, the United Arab Emirates didn't.
And how things going over there? Great? They're defecating cash
over there. Meanwhile Iran is wondering how much longer until
Israel kills all their leaders? Doesn't have to be that way?

(21:48):
And how do you get from where they are to
where the world wants him to be? Talk to President
Trump so none of this has anything to do with
a trivia question over how many people live there. It

(22:08):
has to do with the fundamentalist beliefs of their regime.
Cruz says it would be in the interest of America
to see regime change there. He didn't say, and that's
what we're gonna do, you know, And for Tucker Carlson
or Marjorie Taylor Green to say, you know, Americans want
freedom and cheap gas, and jobs and better wages. We

(22:30):
don't want to get into foreign war. Yes, Madge, that's true.
What makes you think President Trump wants to get into
form or because he said that he would stop at
nothing to get Iran not to have a nuclear weapon.
What is the commander in chief supposed to say, we

(22:51):
don't want Iran to have nukes, but let me give
you a list of the things we won't do. That's
what we've been Doingident Biden did, That's what President Obama did.
Would you ever send troops into this region? Now? Meanwhile,
some murderous dictators like good to know I can cross

(23:13):
that one off my list of concerns. President Obama looks
at sirious says, if you guys use chemical weapons, you
will be crossing a red line and you're gonna have
to deal with America. Siria is like, I'm crossing the
red line, and President Obama said, uh, stop that woo.

(23:37):
And what did that lead to? It led to Iran
getting the money and the boldness and the support in
the region to do all the things that they've been doing,
try and do enrich uranium, giving hundreds of millions of
dollars a year to terrorist organizations like AMAS and has
Bellah to try to and succeed in killing Israelis. And

(23:59):
so Ted cru says it's in the interests of America
to see regime change from people who want to kill
us to people who don't want to kill us. And
Tucker Carlson wants to play trivial pursuit with Ted Cruz,
you know, and Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Green, They're
not even wrong. Americans do want to see cheaper gas,

(24:21):
more jobs, a better economy, more stable economy, jobs coming
back to America. And President Trump's like, hey, I have
two hands. We can do this over here domestically, we
can do this over here. From a foreign standpoint, how
about you stop yelling and crying about things that I
haven't even done yet. You sound like a bunch of

(24:41):
liberal whiny babies. They're the ones that are out there
saying no Kings, No kings, by the way, on that.
Here's one of these several social media posts. It goes
on and on and on. I think you get the
idea after a few statements. Here the author, or at

(25:04):
least the person who posted it, is a woman named Morgan,
who says, no kings, but put your mask on. No
kings but lock us down. No kings, but I'm firing
you for not vaccinating. No kings, but you can't go outside,
you can't go to the beach. No kings, but we
don't accept your exemption. No kings, but we're shutting your

(25:25):
business down. No kings, but your family members will die alone.
No kings, but I'm opening a hotline so you can
tattle on your neighbor. No kings, but social distance at
six feet apart and no facts. No kings, but no
family gatherings over.

Speaker 5 (25:42):
Ten That is at the end.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
That's pretty much it. I say that not to say
that that's exactly how a lot of these no Kings
protesters feel about everything. But in case anyone's wondering why
how did President Trump get reelected? I thought everyone hated him.
That what happened during COVID, What happened to people's businesses, livelihoods,

(26:07):
what happened to their personal economies, what happened to their
personal health? And I don't just mean COVID. I mean
sitting home alone watching family members die alone, that you
can't go visit unless you unless they're on a ground
level floor and you can go up to the window
outside and stare at him. We can't have weddings and funerals,

(26:27):
we can't go to the beach. In some places that
had an impact. And I don't mean once people were
told like, oh yeah, sorry, you can't have more than
two people from your household attend this outdoor little league
baseball game. And you have a baby on your lap

(26:50):
and your son sitting next to you, and you're like, sorry, mom,
you got to go. That's three time to get out
of what outside that hadn't an impact on people. If
white people take the day off for June teenth, is
that cultural appropriation? You don't have to answer that back
to Iran. Now, the people who say it's amazing, they

(27:13):
say two different things they say, Well, no, we also
don't think like President Trump doesn't think. We don't think
that Iran should have nuclear weapons, but we don't want
anyone to do anything about it. All right, If you
don't want America to threaten to do something about it,

(27:35):
to perhaps support our allies in Israel to do something
about it, because they'd be the first ones killed. And
whether or not they get a nuke is as you
saw on October seventh, twenty twenty three, is pretty much
immaterial because Iran pays hundreds of millions of dollars to
groups like Hamas to go and kill the Jews. So

(27:57):
what do you think they're going to do if they
get a nuclear weapon? Oh it's it's for energy, the
energy to kill the Jews. What do you think they're
going to do?

Speaker 3 (28:09):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (28:10):
Did I make that up? Have you not heard these
several chants? Death to Israel, Death to America. So America
and Israel are one. We don't have to wonder what
happens if Israel finally gets a nuclear weapon, and of
course they all the reports Iran. Thank you if Iran
that's and Lucy, that's why you're here. Um, please correct

(28:35):
every single thing I say, no, just the important stuff.
If Iran gets a nuclear weapon, we don't have to
wonder what they're going to do about it.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
We know.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
That's why President Trump is I think backchannel negotiating with
Russia and China, working with Israel and threatening Iran. Now
does that mean troops are going over there? I don't know.
I don't think that that's what President Trump wants, but
I think that's what he would be prepared to do
if he knew that's what we had to do. But

(29:08):
President Bush sent troops into Iraq and said that they
had weapons of mass destruction and they didn't have weapons
of mass destruction. Yes, And do you know who's been
a major outspoken critic of that move, Donald J. Trump
for years. He has criticized that. Well, now he's the guy.

(29:32):
And what I see happening is you just look at
little things of suddenly President Trump has said, yeah, some
of these tariffs on China and even the TikTok band,
we don't need to do that right now. We'll put
that off down the road. What did he forget? Did
he lose his nerve? Or is he working with China

(29:56):
to make sure China is on if not completely on
our We want to make sure they're not on Iran's side.
And China. We need to make China realize it's in
their financial best interest for them not to align themselves
with Iran. Same with Russia. So when people are like,

(30:18):
I don't want Iran to have a nuclear weapon, but
I don't think that we should be threatening them and
doing anything. All right, then how does Iran not get
a nuclear weapon? They either change their minds ah, you
know what, Instead, we're gonna build a baseball stadium. Maybe

(30:39):
we can have our own college World Series here. We're
gonna take the money and we're just gonna build a
baseball stadium. Maybe they changed their mind, or maybe we
do what they did in the Obama administration. Remember President
Obama didn't want Iran to have a nuclear weapon. Do
you remember what he did about it? Gave them a
ton of money, and then as we learned that they

(31:00):
were enriching uranium, told them, you guys better stop that.
And we decided to work with the feckless United Nations
and came up with the plan where to prove that
Iran was not enriching uranium. They had to send US
soil samples so that our nuclear scientists could take a
look at the soil samples because there'd be radiation in

(31:21):
the soil, and as long as the soil was clean,
that meant Iran was not making nuclear weapons, or it
meant that Iran was taking soil from I don't know,
the sand hills of Nebraska or wherever you'd find pristine
radiated soil. And we were just and they were delivering

(31:43):
that to the United Nations. Oh, we get to send
our own soil samples, got it. Now they're on Amazon
Soil Samples. Yeah, we got a bunch of soil samples
since we're Amazon Prime subscribers, gonna be here to tomorrow morning.
That's great, no shipping. Yeah, these are the same idiots

(32:05):
that came up with this idea, like we think all
of these college football players are on steroids. What we
gotta do about it. Well, they're gonna have to deliver
us a you'urine sample every week. We're not gonna actually
watch it from the tap, right and make sure they nah,
we'll just take their word for it. Suddenly football players
are grabbing math nerds. You go to the bathroom in

(32:27):
this bag, Huh, I need a I need a sample.
A clean You're clean, right, I think so. And they
go in there and go, you know, they they they
take a soil sample from their girlfriend and here's my soil.
Say they take a urine sample in from their girlfriend

(32:47):
and they say, yeah, we checked your sample and turns
out you're not on steroids and you're pregnant. These these
are the same people that apparently think, well, we don't
want Aron to have a nuclear weapon. Well can't we
just take their word for it? Time for Judge Lucy.
That's Lucy Chapman. I'm Scott for He's this is News

(33:08):
Radio eleven ten kfab Here. I have three stories for you, Lucy.
You determine who is the worst of the worst among
these three potential criminals. Okay, here's story number one. A
Bellevue man has been sentenced to eleven years in prison.
John Hawkstettler. Oh, he was a great quarterback for the Giants.

(33:31):
That was Jeff Hostettler. John hawkstep was he on Big
Bang No. Was sentenced to eleven years in prison, five
counts of felony, theft by deception, two counts of theft
by deception. What he would do is he would call
up these companies that deal in emergency equipment, right, And
he said, you guys got to send me we need
this emergency equipment. And he said, I'm an official with

(33:53):
a local rescue agency. And so they sent life saving
emergency equipment meant for first responders, and he would just
take him and keep most of them at his place
in Bellevue. Well, maybe he needed him, he didn't, He
had no business with him, and he didn't pay for him.

Speaker 5 (34:11):
Well, what was he gonna do with him?

Speaker 1 (34:12):
That's what I don't know. It doesn't say whether he
sold them or if he was trying to start like
the Hospital of John or whatever, John Hawkstellar Hospital. Yeah,
he just like thought it'd be fun apparently send me
this life saving equipment, which meant someone else didn't get it, But.

Speaker 5 (34:33):
That doesn't necessarily mean somebody went without. He might not
have gotten it on the same day that they were
as opposed to. I don't think they run out before
the reorder.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
That's story number one. Story number two. Florida Man. Florida
man is facing charges after he allegedly purged his bills.
Shall we say he relieved himselves himself on ten thousand
dollars worth of food at Sam's Club happened near Orlando.
Uh in May. That guy he just hosed down.

Speaker 5 (35:03):
Care of that guy, he.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Hosed down palettes containing hundreds of cans of spam and
Vienna sausages, which ironically he did with his Vienna sausage.
He hates these cans. But here's the worst part. I mean,
I don't know why. He's seventy years old. Maybe he's
just in continent. When you gotta go, you gotta go,

(35:26):
am I right, yes, wait, I don't know. This is
Lucy Chapman for it depends have you. That commercial is
coming and we will take the money. But here's the
worst part about it. He he did relieved himself and
all these cans of food, they just threw away all

(35:46):
the food. They're cans. Well, just hold it, just wash
them off, he could say, them off with the hoes.

Speaker 5 (35:53):
You could have at least opened them and used them
for dog food or something, you know something.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
Plus it's so much, it's plus it's spam. It's not
exactly like we have discerning customers. Yeah, Vienna say, if
I can't get good quality Vienna sausages that haven't been
whizzed on, then I don't want any of this. But
how long was he calling?

Speaker 5 (36:18):
I mean, you said palace and palettes? What was a
dollar total?

Speaker 1 (36:23):
Ten thousand, five hundred eighty four dollars and eighty four cents.

Speaker 5 (36:27):
Damn is expensive.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
I guess everything's expensive. But yeah, you're right. I hadn't
thought about just the sheer, the sheer volume. Right now,
there's a lot of seventy year old guys going, I'm
not buying it. No one has got to stream that
strong at that age.

Speaker 5 (36:41):
They're jealous.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
Story number three, Okay, a woman in Texas is accused.

Speaker 5 (36:47):
So second guy.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
A woman in Texas is accused of convincing her pastor
to certify a marriage certificate. Problem is is they never
got married. She and her boyfriend were engaged, but they
had an argument and they called off the marriage. Which
you know, if you have one argument, shut it down.
You don't need to put up at this. So he

(37:12):
calls it off. He goes on about his life. Next
thing he knows she convinced a pastor to certify the
marriage certificate. He gets a package in the mail, a
congratulatory package from her, including a marriage certificate that he
for a marriage that he didn't go through. Found a

(37:33):
copy of the marriage certificate, a marriage license certifying their
nuptials for a ceremony he didn't attend. Who is the
worst of these three?

Speaker 5 (37:43):
The woman. There are women out there who are diabolical
and crazy.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
Thankfully none of us are married to those kind of women.
All right. Lucy has spoken
