Speaker 1 (00:00):
Scott Vordiez. I checked all the local media. Only one
that is a fairly new form of local media has
this story. The TV stations don't have it, the newspaper
doesn't have it. The Nebraska Examiner did note what happened
that came out yesterday in the New York Post. Now,
(00:22):
Senator Dev Fisher had said, I have serious concerns about
my opponent's staff in the Senate race. Is this independent
Dan Osborne. He's got a bunch of terrorists who are
out there eating dogs and cats in the park every
single night. And these are his staff members, these are
(00:43):
his campaigners, these are his canvassers, These would be people
who would go with him to Washington to represent Nebraska.
They're cat eating terrorists. Now, if Dev Fisher had said
something like that, do you think the local media might
pick up on it a little bit? In a call
(01:07):
with a bunch of Democratic donors based in New York
Zoom meeting, Independent Senate candidate Dan Osborne was talking with
these individuals and accused his opponent, Nebraska Senator Dev Fisher,
of harboring a bunch of ne'er do wells, gutter snipes,
(01:31):
and deplorables. As staff members, he said, and I quote,
according to the New York Post quote, as far as
Senator Fisher's campaign has gone, she's never had any competition.
So her staffers and her campaign team are a bunch
of Hitler youth frat boys. To be quite honest with you, unquote,
(01:57):
this was on a call with a group called the
New York Buddy Group. It's a bunch of deep pocketed
liberal leaning campaign donors, he said. It's kind of disconcerting
who she surrounds herself with. That Senator deb Fisher surrounds
herself a bunch of Hitler youth frat boys. All right,
(02:18):
so let's take a look at the accusation. Hitler youth
followed Hitler In this example, deb Fisher is Hitler, a
rancher from the sand hills of Nebraska who is more
comfortable driving fence posts than marching in in genocide laden parades.
(02:40):
Deb Fisher is Hitler, and as such, her staffers just
fawn all over. Oh, yes, der Feurer. I wonder if
she makes them call her der Fure deb Feurer. In fact,
der Feuer kind of sounds like deb Fisher. Wow, I
had no idea that Nebraska Senator dev Fisher was the
(03:03):
leader of the Third Reich. Now you're just starting rumors, sir,
if you're def Fisher, I am I saying the same thing.
I can't tell the difference anymore, Lucy. So we have
a bunch of Hitler youth frat boys working on behalf
of Nebraska's in Washington, d C. As it just so happens.
I've been very I've had a lot of fun doing
(03:27):
not just this radio show, but doing a lot of
different events, being at a lot of different organizations, fundraisers
and parties, galas, and oftentimes I'm not an invited guest
to come hang out. I always am working. I have
a function. Valet parking cars is probably next to come.
(03:47):
But I get asked to serve as the master of ceremonies,
which is a very fancy way of saying someone went
to a lot of trouble to write the script for you.
Please don't stray from it. Okay, you can count on me,
says the guy who doesn't even follow the script and
doesn't get invited back next year. So I'd get a
chance to do a lot of these events, and I
(04:09):
have fun doing all of them. Some of them are
political in nature. Just this past week, we had Trump's
former Attorney General, Matt Whittaker in town for an event
with the Douglas County Republican Party. They asked me to
mce it. I said I'd be happy to, and I
always say, you know, if the state or the local
(04:31):
Democrats want me to do an event for them, I'd
be happy to. I think that would be great fun.
I'd do exactly the same thing i'd do at the
Republican Party. I take some shots of Democrats and Republicans
wink wink, nudge, nudge, tongue in cheek kind of a thing,
and most everyone has a good time. There's always someone
(04:52):
who gets a little bit The scientific term I think
is but hurt by it. You know that's on them.
They're just joe folks. I'd be happy to do that,
but they never asked me. So. Doing a lot of
these events, whether it's nonprofit or political in nature. Senator
(05:12):
deb Fisher is at several of them, has been for years.
I've done debates when she's been running for offices. I've
been the moderator. I've done a lot of these things,
and as such, I've had a chance over the years
to associate with and talk to and in some cases
get to know a lot of Dev Fisher's people. Some
(05:35):
of them are some of these young Republican guys that
come up here. The association of this group as Hitler
youth frat boys. First of all, frat boys shouldn't be
a derogatory term. And I wasn't in a fraternity, but
(05:58):
I think we know what he means when he says
frat boys. These guys. When when someone dismissively and derisively
calls a group of guys frat boys, they think of
them as guys who are drunks, abusers of women. They
(06:19):
they all they do is party. They don't work for anything.
They were born with silver spoons in their mouth, and
they're probably racist and homophobic, even though they're pouring beer
down a fat guy's rumpus into another picture and making
the pleaves drink it. It's gay overturn overtones, you know
whatever these guys like. But I ain't no queer, you know.
(06:42):
So that's that's what he thinks of frat boys. So
now we have not only Dev Fish or staff members
who should be offended by this this quip, but also
those who are in fraternities who certainly have had fun
doing it, but also formed lifelong bonds among brothers and
(07:05):
people who they never went to college with. But you
are also a member of they desire and so that
you and I have a brotherhood that can't be shaken.
We have something in common. And they've also done a
lot of great things for nonprofits and service, sometimes while
wearing togus, sometimes while wearing togus. But it's the Hitler
(07:32):
youth phrasing here as it relates to this collection of
dedicated young staff people at a time when so many
of us look at young people, and these guys, they're
a product of that which they've grown up in. They've
been grown up in. It used to be that parents
(07:55):
would parent, and the teachers would try and teach, and
if you weren't I'm going to be able to be
taught that day, they would turn you over to the
parents and the parents would deal with you. And you
didn't want to deal with that, so you did the
best you could in school. That's how it used to be.
Now the parents don't parent, the teachers try and parent
(08:15):
when they try and deal with you, the parents don't care,
the school doesn't care, and We have a bunch of
people who are confused as to what punishment should look like,
as to what self control should look like, responsibilities, self worth.
They don't even know in some cases what gender they are,
what bathroom they should use, or who should be on
(08:36):
what sports team. This is the product of the environment
in which they've grown up, and so many of them
make these lazy assumptions and comments about politics. But they're
not going to vote, and they're not going to get involved,
and they couldn't tell you who there their senator is,
let alone the state senator, and name a Supreme Court
(08:59):
justice as they that everything's racist. These guys who work
on deb Fisher's campaign in many cases have for years
have also tried to rally others to get involved. They're
events Young Republican Events, yet another group of events. I've
served as MC for these guys. They have fun, they
(09:20):
like being involved, they like talking to people about issues
that matter to our community. They're good people. They're young men,
they're young women, they're great kids. In some of these kids,
I've seen them grown up like since they were teenagers,
getting involved in the process. You know what, They're not
(09:43):
interested in killing the Jews and going to war with
the world. To loosely quote Norm MacDonald. Norm MacDonald, great comedian,
used to do a bit about Hitler and Germany wanting
to constantly go to war with the world. They've chosen
(10:03):
as their enemy for this round the world, and they're
not losing all that much. So that's what Hitler youth
were doing, blind allegiance to a genocidal maniac. And to
refer to Deb Fisher's campaign staffers, who are concerned and
(10:27):
connected with our community, to call them Hitler youth frat
boys is ugly and disgusting. The continued comparisons of Republican
elected officials, whether it's Deb Fisher or of course Donald
Trump to Hitler, there's just there shouldn't be a place
(10:51):
for it. But here we are again. A few months
ago someone tried to kill Donald Trump the first time.
That was a few months after Biden had called him Hitler.
And now we're supposed to be toning down the rhetoric,
and Dan Osborne, independent candidate for Senator, is calling Deb
(11:15):
Fisher staff Hitler youth frat boys, which in that comparison,
makes Deb Fisher der feurer. The New York Post reached
out to Dan Osborne and said, really, Hitler youth, frat boys,
what do you think about? And Dan Osborne said, quote
that was a little harsh. Wish I could have that
one back. I served in the Navy, and sometimes I
(11:37):
still talk like a sailor. I'm not a career politician.
I talk like a regular guy because I am a
regular guy unquote. I hang out with regular guys. I
pay them to hang out with me. And you know what,
none of them ever says comparisons to Hitler. This isn't
regular guy talk. And saying it was a little harsh.
(12:00):
Calling a group of young people who care about our
community Hitler youth is a little harsh. So let's take
a look. Did any of the TV stations have that story?
(12:20):
Did the local newspaper have that story? No? KFAB is
bringing you the story. The New York Post did, and
the Nebraska Examiner picked up on it, and that's it.
That's it. What did one local TV station though? What
did they report about the national presidential election? I'll tell
(12:41):
you next. Scott Goryes NewsRadio eleven ten KFAB Chris email
Scott atkfab dot com via the Zonker's custom woods inbox.
As Dan Osborne has referred to dev Fisher's staff members
as Hitler youth frat boys. Chris Emails says Scott, I
wish Republicans would start comparing Democrats to Stalin. They're obviously
(13:06):
communists and will stop it nothing to get their power.
I wish most voters thought the way I do. There
is nothing negative that the left can say about Trump
that would turn me against him. These people are destroying
America and there's nothing they can say that would make
me vote for a Democrat. That's Chris said to Scott
atkfab dot com, which reminds me the one thing I
(13:28):
didn't say during the preceding rant about this dumb comment
by Dan Osborne against deb Fish or staff members calling
them hitler youth frat boys, And that gets to the
point of why did he say it? You know, as
Chris points out here, I wish that Republicans would call
these Democrats communists. Many Democrats, people who are left leaning progressives,
(13:49):
loved the idea of communism. It's like calling Tuesday Tuesday, like,
are you trying to hurt my feelings? I know I
am Tuesday. I'll be Tuesday all day. You're calling communist communists.
They're like, that's right. Some of them say, actually socialism
is more. It's the difference with that distinction. So why
would Dan Osborne use this phrase hitler youth frat boys
(14:13):
when talking to a group of Democratic donor Democratic donors
based in New York. Why would he say this to
ingratiate himself with Democrats. He thinks he can beat deb Fisher.
He wouldn't have run against her in the center race
if he didn't. But as an independent, he said and
done some things that would upset Democrats, and said and
(14:35):
done some things that would upset Republicans. But now that he,
according to his staff, is really gaining on deb Fisher
in the polls, I'm not sure I believe that, but
we'll see. He's got to try and win over these Democrats.
How do you do it by calling Republicans hitler? Apparently?
Why else would he say it? None of the local
(14:57):
media reported on this story had one local TV station
had to say. KMTV three News Now reported on a
group of teachers who had a rally the other day
in Millard, and the first line in the story here
from KMTV three News win Lucy, KMTV three News Future
No No the other one no. Five minutes ago now
(15:23):
now KMTV three News now said teachers in Nebraska rally
against Trump's Project twenty twenty five, which proposes significant cuts
to federal education funding, and their teachers they're teachers, yes,
and they called it Trump's yeah, Project twenty twenty five.
(15:44):
Trump didn't write Project twenty twenty five. He hasn't read
Project twenty twenty five. Project twenty twenty five was come
up with by a bunch of people to think tank
in Washington, DC, a group called the Heritage Foundation. They said,
this is what we think would be great for the
year twenty twenty five if we can push a Republican agenda.
(16:04):
Trump's like, yeah, I hear. There's some bad stuff in
there and some good stuff in there. So, first of all,
this isn't Trump's Project twenty twenty five. But the issue
seems to be is they say Trump's going to eliminate
the Department of Education, and they start talking about curriculum, like, oh,
we need to take care of these kids. Okay, Both
(16:25):
the teachers at the rally and the presidential candidate at
his MAGA rallies are wrong. If you eliminate the Department
of Education, that doesn't change curriculum one bit. Local school boards,
state boards of education, they're the ones that set curriculum. Now,
(16:48):
you can direct from the Department of Education, but that
which happens at the local level is really directed by
the state. What Trump and jd. Vance have been saying
here about the problems they see the schools, I think
it's misguided by saying we need to eliminate the Department
of Education so we can get these schools back on track.
The real concerns they're bringing up in the schools, which
(17:11):
is everything from what we're pushing on young kids when
it comes to gender and sexuality issues, to what we're
pushing on high school athletes when it comes to all right,
now get over there and tackle that girl, or go
out there and swim against that boy, play volleyball against
that boy. Those are issues, but also the biggest issues
the problems we have with behavior and what to do
(17:32):
with that behavior. Teachers leave all the time, and it's
not because they don't get paid enough. They don't. It's
not because they don't get enough time off they do.
It's because they say, I got a kid in here
threatening other people and me, and you're not gonna let
me do anything about it. Well, no, We'll move him
to a different classroom and bring another problem kid into
your classroom, over and over again. These are the reasons
(17:54):
why teachers leave. This is a product of local control.
This is local school boards, this is state boards of education.
So what happens if you eliminate the Department of Education, Well,
you don't have a federal resource collecting tax money and
then deciding who across the country gets it. So what
(18:14):
they're clinging to is these dollars. And of course they're
saying One of the teachers at this rally said that, quote,
my students were the first people I thought of if
it would cut more than eighteen billion dollars in annual
federal support for our strong public schools, hurting our most
(18:34):
vulnerable students and marginalized communities unquote. The most vulnerable students
are tired of getting their ass kicked either in the
school bus, in the classroom, gym, class in the hallways,
and having the teachers in the school not do anything
about it. The marginalized communities are those communities who are saying,
(18:57):
I'd like to take my tax dollars ago to this
public school that doesn't give a rip about my kid,
and put this kid in a private school. Can we
do a voucher thing? No, say these teachers, you know,
they really want to they really care about these kids.
They'll work on these issues. I still believe in our
(19:17):
public schools and our school and our public school teachers.
Not all of them. Some of them are terrible. Used
to be. You'd root those guys out, not put a
hoodie on them, and send them in there to teach
eleventh grade. All right, try not to hit on the students.
The only thing that happens if you eliminate the US
(19:38):
Department of Education is that money is gone. What are
these teachers clinging to money? What do they have more
of an education today than at any other point in history? Money?
What do they have less of the show for it?
Students who could go out and compete for jobs, who
actually show up on time, carry themselves, well, look you
in the eye, give you a firm handshake, and go
(19:58):
in there and put in a solid day's work without
crying and asking for a bunch of stuff. We have
students right now can't pass on from grade to grade,
or they just pass them on from grade to grade,
and it used to be. When your grandparents and great
grandparents went to school, they didn't have They had barely
(20:21):
a very small fraction of the money that these public
schools get. And each of the kids that graduated were
among the greatest Americans we've ever had. They were self reliant,
they cared about their community, They worked to lift each
other up. But they know, ultimately, I have to take
care of myself because no one's going to take care
of me. I need to be there for my family
(20:42):
and raise a great generation of young people. They didn't
do this with money. They did this with backbone. So
you guys out there complaining about, well, take our money,
what do you have to show for all the money
we're spending right now. So that's just a little bit
(21:02):
of what we're hearing in the local news and what
we're not hearing. Local news will tell you it's Trump's
Project twenty twenty five put out there with no fact
checking by KMTV three news, and none of them had
anything to say about Dan Osborne, calling deb Fisher, staff Hitler,
youth frat Boys, Scott Boys Mornings nine to eleven, Our
