We absolutely approve of Jim Croche on this program. Fantastic
That is JJ on guitar and vocals. Duke from Pet
rock in here as well. Guys. Happy Valentine's Day. Hey,
nothing like a bunch of dudes getting together here to
celebrate Valentine's Day.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Yeah, you're right, that's what I think of.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
So tell me about the sausage fest tonight at the Astro.

Yeah, Well, we're gonna be playing. We got a show
tonight at the Astro Theater at seven point thirty. It's
gonna be a great night filled of Yeah, we'll play
a few love songs, but it's gonna be our standard
brand of smooth seventies rock that I think thank you'
all going to enjoy.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah, it's it's not an acoustics show tonight here. Tell
me by going to a pet rock show, what am
I in store for?

Speaker 2 (03:04):
It's a rock show. There's video production, there are flashy lights.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
And some semi attractive men on stage along with a
very attractive woman. So, yeah, we'll be playing I don't
know what are we playing. Some Paul McCartney, we'll play
some Sammy Johns, We'll play some oh, I don't know,
maybe some Steely.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Dan, definitely that some Boston.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
Yeah. So it's a night of just the greatest decade
of music ever and good memories.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Yeah, this is at the Astro tonight in La Vista,
fairly new venue here in the community, super cool space,
and this is gonna be a great night. Petrock band
dot com. Can you get tickets through that website or
contact the Astro? Just show up tonight, what's the deal?

Speaker 5 (03:46):
I think you're gonna have to. I don't know if
they're still up there for now. You might have to
just show up tonight if you didn't act earlier, if
you're waiting for that last minute gift idea for that
special someone, right, Someone's right.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
How did this thing called pet rock come together?

Speaker 5 (04:03):
Well, it came together about what ten years ago?

Speaker 1 (04:05):
I think.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
I think me and Flamm, our drummer, we're having some
libations and we were thinking, hey, you know, wouldn't it
be great to start a band and play some music
that we really like that probably no one else did
would at the time. Yeah, we figured no one had
come see this stuff. You know, we're gonna play this
soft rock, the seventies one hit Wonders and all that,

(04:26):
and we figured, yeah, it'd be a lark. You know,
maybe someone be interested in Here we are ten years later.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Still doing it, so see we're all roughly the same age,
so we were either really little kids or not even
born yet when a lot of this music came out here,
like you know Jim Crochey that came out before we
were born. Yep. But the music is so timeless.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
Yeah, and for me and maybe you as well, Scott,
I mean a lot of these songs that we play,
those memories are like riding in the back of the
station wagon, you know, with your parents going on a
road trip and hearing that AM radio back in the
day and all those great great song.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
I got, I Got one better, riding in the back
of the van. Oh yeah, yeah, no doubt. Yeah, you
guys were styling in it.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Oh yeah, we had the suicide seats in the back
of the Yeah, the station wagon.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Right, well, it used to be you kids listen to this.
A lot of the Omaha school kids are off school today,
so they're all tuned here to eleven ten KFAB. As
soon as they heard pet Rock is coming on, they're like,
oh my gosh, you know, nudging Grandma out of the way,
boxing out dad, and listen to the radio. My favorite.
You would drive in a vehicle with no seat belt on.
You'd either lay down in the back seat. Uh, if

(05:36):
you were really small, you'd be on the floor behind
the back seats. Or you could get up in the
back window of a various you know, like an AMC
Pacer or something like that. Yeah, yeah, you get up
in the back window of some of these vehicles or
the van. If you had a van that was so
cool and not the least bit creepy. And if you
had a van with a ladder on the back, oh,

(05:58):
climb up, like, oh, I gotta put some on top
van Like, no, you don't get off the van. You
know that. That was our childhoods and listening to this
music because we would never dare tell our parents what
radio station to listen to. No, they were driving, they
were in charge.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
Yeah, and it was great tunes that have stuck with
myself personally and many people our age group for the
rest of our lives.

Speaker 1 (06:19):

try and mix the vocals a little better this time. Here,
that is a duke. Here is JJ of pet Rock.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
She's got away about her. I don't know what it is,
but I know that I can live without her. She's
got a way of pleasing. I don't know what it is,

(07:44):
but that doesn't have to be reason anyway. She's got
a smile that heals me. I don't know why it is,
but I have to laugh when she reveals me. She's

(08:06):
got a wave of talking. I don't know why it is,
but it'll lifts me up. When we all walk in
any way. She comes to me and I'm feeling down,

(08:26):
inspires me without a sound. She touches me. I get
turned around. She's got a wave of showing how I
make her feel, and I find the strength to keep

(08:48):
on going. She's got a lie to brownd her everywhere
she goes. A million dreams of love surround her.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
Ever weird.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
She comes to me when I'm feeling down, inspires me
without a sound.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
She touches me.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
I get turned around.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
She's got a smile that heals me.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
Oh don't know why it is, but I have to
laugh when she reveals me she's got away about her.
Oh don't know.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Why it is, but I know that I can't live
without her anyway.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
