Speaker 1 (00:00):
Scott Vorhees.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
I am Scott Vorhees. Lucy Chapman is back after a
few days off, and I trust everyone had a wonderful
and RESTful Labor Day weekend. If not, you know what,
go ahead and take the rest of the week off.
Not you, I'm talking about other people. Just go ahead
and take the rest of the week off. Why not
try again next week and just kind of keep putting
(00:27):
it off and say, I don't know. The guy on
the am radio said I could take the rest of
the week off. Ye have your boss call in and
we'll see if we can get that negotiated. I'm sure
that there is a negotiation process that would work for
you to take the rest of the week off, and
probably every other week after that.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
But hey, oh wait a minute, I know what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
But hey, at least you'll have the rest of the
week off. You can find another job.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
You try to tell me something, No, Lucy.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
There are people who listen to this show, and I
occasionally talk to them. What it's fewer and fewer every
minute that goes by. They're willing to wait with me
for a few minutes to see if I have anything,
and then when it quickly becomes a parent that I don't.
They're like, all right, there's something else. I get it.
In fact, I was already willing to switch it up
and go a different direction than what I said I
was going to do just two minutes ago. But I'm
(01:21):
actually gonna stay in a linear path here. I'll say that,
I'll say that other really demeaning, awful thing later in
the show, I promise. But now you want to hear
it now, don't you, don't you? Well, I'm not going
to do it there. Now everyone's disappointed. Yesterday we had
(01:41):
a holiday. And look, however you spend your holiday, that's
up to you. I just hope you had a great time.
Hope you had a very nice time, whether you sat
inside catching up on a little television or reading, spending
some time with the family, looking at your yard work
that you wish you would have done on Saturday before
(02:01):
it rained for two days straight, or if you went
out into the streets to protest. I love a good protest,
and thankfully we don't have to wait longer in about
seven days between them here in Omaha, because every single
weekend we have to have another protest. It's all the
same people occasionally they switch up the signs. So what
(02:23):
were they doing yesterday? Well, once again Memorial Park that
is the protest site. Here they had the Workers over
Billionaires rally, the Workers over Billionaires rally. This was a
nationwide protest. Did some of the local media fail to
(02:44):
point that out? This was a nationwide protest promoted by
a number of different groups who are funded by George Soros,
who is worth seven billion dollars, let alone his kid,
who's now taken over a lot of these activities, Who's
worth his own number of billions of dollars. The Workers
(03:08):
over Billionaire's rally sponsored by billionaire, not American George Soros.
What makes anyone think that this guy, George Soros cares
one bit about America's greatness. He doesn't. He wants America
to fail and he's actively funding it every single day.
(03:30):
Now that said, these guys go out there and let's
see here. The previous rallies were No King's Day. Remember that.
That's where they came out and said we don't want
kings in this country. And the done, I know, it
was amazing. They came out like on a Saturday and
they said we don't want kings and by the next
day we didn't have a king in this country. I'll
(03:52):
tell you what, these guys, we don't give them enough
credit on this show.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
They are good.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
All they get is sarcastic credit credit on this show.
Let's see, there was also the Good Trouble protests that
was after the passing of John Lewis. We have to
go out there and do some good trouble, same thing,
same people. We've also had the whether it's Black Lives
Matter or Occupy Wall Street or standing up for women. Oh,
(04:21):
you guys are standing up for women? You mean like
women like Jean Stothard or Joni Earnstein. No Democrat women
or men who run against women, or men who identify
as women who run against men. You know what, as
long as they're Democrats, we don't care those women. So
there is some of that. And because it's Labor Day
(04:44):
and because it had a worker's slant to it, workers
over billionaires. But by the way, what does that mean?
What means we need to have policies in this country
that favor workers over billionaires? All right, Oh, let's see
the workers over billionaires. What we want and what has
previously happened is we we try and tax billionaires. By
(05:12):
the way, billionaires by the time the many of these
political leaders get done with it, it's those who make
over a couple hundred thousand dollars a year, so not billionaires.
We start taxing them to within the point where they're
giving more money to the government than investing in their
own businesses. Who works at the businesses? The workers? Now
(05:35):
the business owners, you know, those fat cat we don't
care about you, silver spoon in mouth billionaire types. They're
giving more money to the federal government, which means there's
less money to invest in their business, provide their workers
raises promotions. Oh they were going to do that anyway, Well, no,
not if the federal government's going to take all their money.
(05:55):
There's a very little chance that they're going to do that.
We're going to take their money and do with it.
Is the government just handing out checks to you? Well, yeah,
because we get Medicaid and food stamps. And then those
are billionaires and Trump and all those billionaire friends who
try to take it from us. Yes, I know, expecting
you to work at least part time in this country.
(06:18):
Oh my gosh, these guys are the worst. So the
worker is over billionaire's rally. Oh there's one more angle
to this, and this is part of the nationwide protest.
This is and they talked about it yesterday here at
the Labor Day protest in Omaha. They talked about how
for how old you are number of years in a row,
(06:41):
because this has happened your entire lifetime. So for me,
how old am I forty eight years in a row?
And for you it might be more or less, it
might be exactly the same, But for however many years
you are years in a row? They had a labor
rally in your town, and the labor union leaders stood
(07:03):
up and said, labor unions are under attack, man, all
these years in a row, and they just it's relentless.
They're continually attacking these labor unions. Every single year. Organized
labor is under attack in this country. I tell you
(07:24):
what I you know, and I look at things and
I don't always see it coming. It's a pretty silent attack.
How is labor under attack this year? Say the Democratic
union labor leaders. Well, I guess they didn't like the
fact that there were more union labor leaders at the
Republican National Convention last year than ever before that There
(07:51):
have been ovations made to organize labor by Republican now
President Donald Trump. Well, that obviously means that they're under attack,
or maybe maybe and I don't know that this is true.
I certainly didn't hear it yesterday. Maybe there are a
few labor union leaders and certainly laborers who've noticed. You know,
(08:17):
we keep supporting that one party, the Democrats. And the
Democrats seem to be in favor of open borders, and yeah,
come on in, we'll give you asylum or at least
a hearing in seven years from now. In the meantime,
go to work, Yeah, get a job, you know, whatever
you need to do. We'll just help you along. Hey,
you come in the country illegally. Tell you what in
(08:39):
state tuition for you and your family? Why not? Hey,
we're glad you're here. Meanwhile, the union laborer for his
kids are like, well, I wanted to send my kids
to that college down there in a different state. Do
they get in state tuition? No, not for you, but
for someone who just came here from El Salvador. Absolutely, well,
I think that guy as a gang member. We're not
(09:01):
gonna check that. Please, don't be so racist. So the
Democrats are have open border policies flooding America with cheap labor.
Cheap labor is often able to underbid for jobs like
we'll do this, or we'll do that, or we'll make this,
or we'll build that, or we'll do this service or whatever.
(09:21):
And you know who gets beat just about every single time,
union labor because they've been supporting Democrats who have brought
in cheap laborers, who to undercut labor unions. And so
some of them said, you know what, this doesn't seem
to be ginting us anywhere. Let's go over to the
Republican National Convention and see what's going on. And Trump
(09:45):
is like, we're gonna get rid of that cheap labor.
We're gonna cut that off. We're gonna turn off that spicket.
And you know, some some labor guys kind of like
the sound of that. And how does that translate to
Omaha's Democrat led Labor Day protest that once again, for
(10:07):
the umpteenth year in a row, organized labor is under attack. Yes,
they are by the Democrats. You guys are supporting to
bring in illegal laborers. So they had the Labor Day protest.
Not a lot of people out there, they did it
(10:27):
in the rain? Good for them? It was you know what,
I don't even think it rained this weekend. I mean
there were certainly pockets of it where you had legitimate
rain here and there, but really, for two days in
a row, it didn't rain here in Omaha. It dripped.
It was just a steady drip. Like someone had to
(10:48):
look at the sky and say, there's a like that
little o ring in the faucet needs for play. I
think it's cracked. Can we just replace that? There's something's loose.
It's just this steady drip. It just dripped for two days. Okay,
back to the protests. Now, on Friday, did you hear
(11:13):
that Pete Ricketts personally kicked a bunch of grandmothers right
in the face.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
What, oh you did not? Oh he he he.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Well that was after he lined them up and ran
them over with his motorcade. Based on what I've heard,
it just was very, very bad for these poor grandmothers
who showed up saying, please, mister sanator, we want to
give you some thoughts like, no, you guys are old.
Why do I care what?
Speaker 4 (11:39):
You think?
Speaker 2 (11:39):
You're gonna die him in it? Now? So what was
this all about? At the state Fair. I'll tell you
next Scott Voice. Fantastic having Lucy Chapman back after she
was gone for a few days last week. She's right there.
She's not gonna talk on the radio. I'm not gonna
let her, but she is here and that makes all
of us feel better here on news radio. We lef
(12:01):
in dan kfab And that's the reason why this should
be on a webcam. Nice job Lucy is doing doing
site gags on the radio. That's why she's the best
in the business. Right there.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
What you're calling it, Yeah, that was just one finger.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
I know it's good and I appreciate it. Usually get
it from the other hand. Let's see here on Friday,
we had the day whatever it was for the state fair.
Nebraska does their state fair after the kids.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Are back day whatever it was.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
I don't know day eight of the state fair.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
However, many oh I thought it was a special name.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
No, no, I mean, like, you know, it's it's day
eight at the at your fair, you know. So that's fine.
We have a state fair after all the kids are
back in school, and that's somehow someone thought that'd be
a good idea. And you know what I I was
making fun of our state fair a couple of months ago,
because I'm hearing about how like Jelly Roll is performing
(12:58):
at the North Dakota State Fair and the Iowa State
Fair always gets great talent, and I'm like, who's coming
to the Nebraska State Fair. It's always America, America. It's
back at the state Fair. Sister Goldenhair, she no longer
has any golden hair. And by the way, I like America.
I like their music. Ventura Highway is one of the
great guitar riffs of all time. But they got to
(13:21):
throw a few new entertainers into the lineup, right, Well,
who they have this year? Brian Reagan, very very funny comedian.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Oh comedian, you know, okay.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
And Vanilla Ice. Now that's that's right that you know,
that's probably for some people like my kids, like there's
no difference to them between Vanilla Ice and America. And
they also.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Had Sawyer Brown but and I was gonna go. I
was gonna try to go for that, but then it
said it was a free show, but all the tickets
were gone, and then I kept seeing it advertised, so
I don't know if they ever sold out or not,
but I didn't go because I didn't want to make
the drive if they had.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Right, do you want to get do you want to
get real old for a second? I know Lucy, but
Lucy doesn't go anywhere here in town either.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
I went to Lincoln.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Lucy's thing is something's going on. Lucy wants to be invited,
Lucy gets invited, Lucy doesn't show up. You want to
get real old for a second. When I was in college,
I was working for the working for I was helping
out as assisting and a student volunteer with this student
activities council, and they came to us one time and said,
we have a chance to bring in a national recording
(14:28):
artist who's coming through Carney and could do a show
here at the campus and it only costs ten thousand dollars.
I'm like, who is it? They said, James Brown? Like,
we have to bring in James Brown. We have to.
We had just to see what this is like. We
got to bring in James Brown. And ultimately the group
decided not to bring in James Brown because James Brown
(14:50):
having been popular a decade before any college student there
at Carney was born. It was determined that this was
not some cool entertainer to bring in for college students
because they wouldn't know or care who he was.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Oh wait, they made that decision without asking the students.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
No, this is just a bored decision by the student
Activity council. I was like the only one going, we
got it's James Brown. Come on, James Brown. And so
now my wife was looking over my daughter's college calendar
to see who was coming to their campus down at
k State, and they're bringing in an artist who I
(15:28):
think is pretty cool. And then I realized this artist
was popular a good ten years or so before any
of these college kids were born. They don't know who
he is, the entertainer Ben Folds is playing here in
a couple of weeks.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
Well he should be, okay.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
College he was popular a decade before they were born. Yeah,
but he's thinking of eighteen year olds Ben Folds. Yeah,
they're the college kids.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
Yeah, but there are a lot of students there that
are older than eighteen.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
These you can say twenty one. They still they don't. Plus,
when you're a college kid, after you're eighteen or nineteen
freshman sophomore, it's not cool anymore to do anything on campus. Okay, Yeah,
so this is something for the freshman, and they don't
have any idea who Ben Folds is. So I'm playing
some music from my daughter going doesn't this sound fun? Yeah,
(16:19):
she's not going. I might go down there and go,
but it's all.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
It's a good excuse to go visit your daughters.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
It's a school one. It's a school night.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Grant you permission leave.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
So back to the State Fair, Thank you, Lucy. Friday morning,
Senator Pete Rickus was out there hosted a little forum
talking about here's what's going on in Nebraska, and there
was a group of women who showed up, I believe
purely just to get kicked out of Senator Pete Rickis
forum at the State Fair. This group, I can't even
(16:52):
say the name of the group. I don't want to
say the name of the group on the radio, not
because I don't want to give them the attention, but
because this, this very demure group of older women have
a really disgusting name. It's the changing a word here,
the ticked off grannies, the pod grannies, I'll say, ticked
(17:14):
off grannies, classy fresh out of finishing school. It's the
p od grannies showing up here, and boy did they
put it on. This one woman is wearing an apron
and a bonnet, just in case you don't look at
her and think, well, she's an old woman, she's a grandmother.
We want these women to look as homely and as
(17:37):
old as possible. And she came in there like I
was just making some biscuits. Now I came to talk
to the senator and next thing you know, I'm getting
kicked out by security. And they got the video and
they posted it on social media. Look at these women,
and you know it's funny they didn't show the video
before they got kicked out. Were these women wouldn't shut up?
(17:58):
Yell into the senator? That's not true, that's a lie.
You're a liar. How come you lie?
Speaker 3 (18:04):
You?
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Whytn't you shut your lie in face? And then suddenly
security is like, ladies, if you don't shut.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Up, oh no, would we die? Just is gonna make
a nice apple pie for the senator. And now I'm
getting kicked out.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
Why are they like they they're wearing like this woman
had a calico apron on, Like I just came straight
from my kitchen to the state fair here in Grand Island,
and I was like, what's going on in here. Maybe
it's a pig roping competition. Well, look it's our senator,
and I'll just sit down and stop making cookies for
a second and see what the senator has to say.
(18:36):
And next thing, you know, securities throwing me out. Part
of the group called the pod Grannies. These shameless demonstrators
went there to get kicked out, and they did. And
then some idiots had the nerve to throw this all
over social media, going look at this. Pete Ricketts sicked
his security guards. He sicked his guards. These nice little
(19:01):
old ladies with their wire rimmed glasses they just bought
that morning to show up there and look as old
as possible. This one woman had a walker, a walker Jimmy.
She went in there with Jimmy Walker. It was not
(19:22):
Dino Might.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
Well.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
They tried to State Fair put out a statement after
all of this. I'll tell you what they said next.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Scott Voice News Radio eleven ten kfaby.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
The pod Grannies. This is the name of this group,
the ticked off Grannies. I'm calling them. Their name is
more vulgar, which is funny because the women has showed
up at the State Fair in Grand Island, and there
is no island any more grand than Grand Island. They
showed up in Grand Island at the Brass State Fair
(20:00):
Friday morning. Senator Pete Rickuz just happened to be hosting
a forum there, and these women, I guess, just happened
to be there, fresh out of bacon pies. They still
had on little bonnets and one woman's wearing a little
calico apron. I was just making up some biscuits and
she has a little bit of a slur, so it's okay,
It's just part of her charm. I just making up
some biscuits and I came in here and there's the
(20:21):
senator and I thought, oh lordy, it's the senator, and
so I came in here. I was like, Senator, you
want some pancakes, and he's like, get out, get out,
and he kicked these women out. Amazing a group of
Democrat women who dress up and they bonnets, little hat,
sunday hats, wire rim glasses. They made their makeup look
(20:46):
super super old, no offense, if that's literally how they
always wear their makeup. And that wasn't part of the costume,
but it was because they had like stockings on and
they're like, I just I came straight out of church
on a Friday, came right over here to see my senator,
and then next thing you know, here comes to Nebraska
State Patrol to boot me out of here. Though the
(21:08):
Nebraska Democratic Party took note. Here's what they said about it.
Many of you know that Pete Ricketts held a rare
public forum this morning. This was their Facebook post on Friday.
What you don't know is that a group of elderly
women protesters known as the peede Off Grandma's, were harassed
(21:31):
during the forum for exercising their First Amendment right to
free speech. Ricketts is now following Trump's lead and attacking
some of our most vulnerable, our grannies. Shame shame, Yeah,
Senator Pete Ricketts was attacking vulnerable elderly grannies. You know
(21:57):
I thought when he took off one of their orthopedic
shoes and started beating her with it, That's when I
was like, all right, Pete, call off the dogs who
wrote this, the Nebraska Democratic Party on their face and
booking pages.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
Well, whoever wrote it, maybe they were fooled. Maybe they
thought they were just old grannies, crippled, old grannies that
they had to wheel out in wheelbarrows, wheel barrels.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
Yeah, what was failed to be, what was not pointed
out in this post, was that they showed up to
get kicked out. They wanted the optics of being kicked
out of Senator Rickett's for him, and so they showed
up and got themselves kicked up, kicked out. Why how
because they wouldn't shut up. They wouldn't shut their sweet
little faces. We needed Ben Stiller in there to go
(22:52):
zip it. Grandma. I'll give you a nice tall glass
to shut the hell up. You're in my world, Grandma.
That's needed that. All right, there's your nineties movie reference
for this segment of the radio program, Lucy.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
You got that one that's happy Gilmore.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Is Happy Gilmore. Lucy is back from you tell you what.
Give her a few days off. She might get a
few movie references. That was a super easy one. But
it's okay, missa, missa. You know, these women showed up
there just babbling and yelling at the senator. Wouldn't let
him talk to the people there, wouldn't let him answer questions.
(23:30):
They're just you're a liar. Shut up, you're a liar.
Your face looks like a guy. Look your face looks
like a guy who lies because you're lying face. So
they got themselves kicked out, which was their goal. It's
always nice to see someone achieve a goal. I think
we should be more impressed that they set a goal
(23:51):
and they achieved it. They got themselves kicked out of
the Senator's Forum at the Nebraska State Fair. I hope
they're able to stick around and see the Marshall Tucker Band.
Lucy thinks that's a joke. Marshall Tucker did play the
Nebraska State Fair.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
I don't think it's a joke that they played.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
It's fine. I love the Marshall Tucker Band.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Was it the movie Tammy with What's her name? That
the mother Susan Sarandon they sat down and talked about
the Marshall Tucker Is.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
That a Is that a Melissa McCarthy movie. I don't
think I've seen that one. I do love her, though,
What did I just watch with her in it? Oh?
Really dumb movie Kevin Hart and the Rock Uh Central Intelligence.
Great cameos by Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy in that movie.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
Don't think I saw that?
Speaker 2 (24:48):
No, it's all right, let's see here. So they got
the granny's got kicked out the Nebraska. Yes, that's what
they wanted. And uh, the Nebras Viska State Fair and
the Nebraska State Patrol shared a joint statement. And here's
what it said. And I quote this morning. This was
(25:17):
on Friday. This morning, at an event hosted by Senator Ricketts,
several members of the audience became disruptive in violation of
Nebraska State Fair rules and regulations. The group was contacted
by state fair security, but the group refused to comply
(25:38):
with security. Nebraska State Patrol was contacted and troopers spoke
with the group, who then agreed to leave. There were
approximately seven to ten members of the audience who were
escorted out of the event. Some members of the group
continued to cause a disturbance outside the event. Those who
continued to violate state fair rules were escorted out of
(26:02):
the fair grounds by State Fair security. There were no
citations or arrests. If anyone attending the State Fair as
any concerns regarding public safety, they can contact a member
of the security staff or any troopers working at the event.
They showed up with a goal to get tossed out.
They got tossed out, but they felt I wonder if
(26:23):
we didn't go far enough, we got tossed out of
the little barn where the senator was having his forum.
What if we get kicked out of the fair grounds.
What does one have to do to get kicked out
of the Nebraska State Fair? Apparently this just not shutting
(26:46):
your face, not even a little bit. So they're harassing
people who maybe went to the state Fair to kind
of get away from some of the politics and stuff.
At the day. They showed they want to go there
to take their kids. It's a Friday morning. Maybe they
took their kids out of school. They have a nice
(27:06):
four day weekend at the fair. They came from far
away places like Caro.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
Well, you can't say that.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
It's right up the road in Grand Island.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
What you can't say that, because if you're going to
go with that premise, then Ricketts was he was wrong too.
If we're going to the fair to get away from politics,
then he wouldn't have had of.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
No, I'm there are some people who wanted to be
a part of that, and some people once they I mean,
let's say you're walking along, you're at the State Fair.
You're like, all right, we got the rides down here
for the kids. Over here is like Paul Revere and
the Raiders are playing over here or whatever. Doesn't mean
(27:51):
he's not playing at Nebraska State Fair. Over Here we
got calf roping and bring the kids, you know. And
over here we got a prize cow. And oh, over here,
Pete Ricketts is holding a forum. Well, I choose not
to go there for whatever reason. And then outside of that,
just you know, walking around in between the sails on
(28:11):
hot tubs and what you know, and various fried items
on a stick. It's a fried hot tub on a stick. Hmm.
Here come a bunch of ladies going.
Speaker 4 (28:21):
Shame on Pete Ricketts.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Shame.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
I was in here just mixing up some crapes and
I got kicked out by the senator. Oh my gosh,
they grabbed me by my calico apron. I lost one
of my shoes, my stockings all rolled down. My husband,
who is continuously named Elmer, is gonna be so disappointed.
