(00:00):
Hey, welcome to the Lori deYoung Show podcast. If you missed our
show today, we're sorry about that, but here are some highlights for you.
Be sure to catch it tomorrow everyweekday morning from five till ten,
or on the iHeartRadio app Today's BestCountry ninety three point one w POC Baltimore
now top stories at the top ofthe hour. We thought it might happen,
(00:22):
and it did. Baltimore did seta new record high temperature for April
twenty ninth. Temperatures reached ninety twodegrees yesterday, beating the previous record of
ninety one that was set back innineteen seventy four. We got a chance
of some showers out there today, otherwise partly sunny and hot, with a
high up around eighty eight degrees. So we're going to stay warm once again
tonight to chances some showers and thunderstorms. We do cool down a little bit
(00:42):
tomorrow. The high temperature looks tobe about eighty two degrees for tomorrow.
Baltimore has now entered into the conversationaround on campus protests of Israel's war with
mas A pro Palestinian protest ended peacefullyat the Johns Hopkins University campus earlier this
morning, as organizers packed up theirencampment, one organizer said it was not
the end and they did plan tobe back in the morning, so we'll
see how that develops. Johns Hopkinsis the latest college campus across the country
(01:04):
to see demonstrations by protesters looking fora free Palestine. An initial crowd of
more than one hundred protesters gathered aboutfour o'clock yesterday, but that crowd appeared
to double in size throughout the evening. A press release issued by the Hopkins
Justice collectives that it quote established thePalestine Solidarity Encampment to hold our university accountable
for its financial and academic participation inthe ongoing Palestinian genocide. So again,
(01:26):
we'll see how this develops here.Hopkins officials have not commented on this situation.
However, more than one hundred Hopkinsfaculty and staff members have signed an
open letter supporting peaceful protests by students, and they called for the university leadership
to uphold academic freedom and reject pressureto criminalize demonstrations. So again, a
big conversation happening around the country rightnow, as we've seen some campuses call
(01:47):
in police, and mostly the hasbeen peaceful here, but we'll see how
the one here. Yes, someof them have canceled their commencement. Yeah,
us see the University of Southern California, California, Cancil their commencement like
this. Yeah, all right,we've got Dustin Lynch. We'll get to
Bethany's brief here in a couple ofminutes. What's on your mind? So
we have a Brittany Spears update.Yesterday I mentioned that she has to pay
(02:09):
her father a whole bunch of moneyin her settlement, and now there's news
that that might not be all.Yeah, it's just such a sad story
all the way around. Yeah,we'll find out more here in a minute.
Dustin Lynch and stars like confetti, and it's Dustin Lynch and it's nine
(02:30):
minutes after six o'clock. To keepus in the loop of entertainment and pop
culture and the things we shouldn't careabout, but somehow we really do.
East Bethany Bree on ninety three pointone WOC a couple of TV updates for
you guys. The Amazon Prime videoseries Fallout is making history. Since its
(02:51):
debut April tenth, the series hasmanaged sixty five million viewers, making it
the second best title viewed on theplatform, behind Lord of the Rings.
It's pretty you like it? Yeah, I mean, I didn't play the
video game, so I'm sure there'sa lot of nuance I miss because I
don't know. But I'm enjoying whatI'm watching so far on like three or
four episodes into it already renewed fora second season. Surprised, mm hmm.
(03:15):
And do either of you watch WhiteLotus? Yes? Oh no,
oh, Laura, you'd love it. Fans are excited that it is coming
back for another season. Apparently it'sa huge cast and international cast. The
first season was about money, thesecond season was about sex. This season
is about death. Okay, soyeah, uh they really It's really interesting
(03:38):
from a sociological perspective, So I'mexcited to see what they do with the
next season. All right. Forsixty percent of mom spending Mother's Day surrounded
by family is better than anything, according to a new survey. However,
younger moms would like to be aloneon their special holiday. Millennial and gen
Z moms say take the kids andgo, but older moms want to spend
(04:02):
time with family. What would yousay, because you're you know, you're
forty. Yeah, I think alittle mixture of bull. If they're gonna
be around me, they best notannoy me. Okay, Okay, that's
what I would say of moms, say they would love a spotless home if
they didn't have to do the work. I think the ideal day would be
(04:23):
to have some time alone and sometimewith your family, right. I love
to hang out with my kids whenthey're when they're in a good mood,
when things are fine. But ifthey're going to be, you know,
annoying, then I want to bealone, go to dad's house. I
love this time of year because wealways hear like this story, right,
like what do moms want for Mother'sDay? And then you hear what do
(04:43):
dads want for Father's Day. It'salways funny because the dads are always like,
I just really want some family time, and the moms are like,
just get away from me, justgo away, that'd be great. Sources
are spilling that they're super concerned aboutBritney Spears. They say she's in series
is danger both financially and mentally. They're noting that it's way worse than when
(05:04):
she was under her conservatorship. Ifeel bad. She has deleted her Instagram
too, which I think was actuallyquite helpful for her. Like, I
mean, of course, we don'tknow it would be helpful for most people.
Oh No, I meant I thinkhaving her Instagram was helpful for her.
Oh really, Yeah, I mean, like, you know, her
(05:26):
fans were really there for her whenit seemed like nobody else was, you
know. Yeah. And I wonderhow many of her problems are related to
her parents, you know, yes, and like having all that fame at
such a young age. I feelbad anyway. She's also really on the
edge of going broke. Apparently shegoes to Hawaii by herself almost every month
(05:46):
and she drops around three hundred andfifty thousand dollars or trip. Well,
that'll do it. Yeah. Ididn't like the conservatorship idea, but it's
clear that she needs some people inher corner, and that's the one thing
she'd been missing for these last howevermany years. Doesn't seem like there's anybody
on her side. And I kindof feel like similarly about Morgan Wallen,
like when all these like stupid thingshappen, I'm like, you need someone
(06:08):
on your team, really protect them. Yeah, someone that's not just cashing
the checks and just taking your money, like you need someone that's really going
to be looking out for you, who's at the end of the he doesn't
seem to have that. Oh no, yeah, you're right. And when
I read, I couldn't even getthrough her whole book because it was so
like infantile in my opinion, Andthen I thought, oh my god,
(06:29):
like, you know, was hergrowth and her education stunted so badly?
And I'm wondering, like socially, you know, So I feel I feel
really bad about the situation, especiallybecause she was such an icon for like
our generation. So anyway, we'llkeep an eye on that for you.
All right here in a minute,we've got some more music. We're also
going to talk a little bit aboutCringey wedding vows, so stick around for
(06:54):
that. We do have a mixturetoday, some showers possibly, but a
partly sunny forecast upper eighties for thehigh we have sixty three degrees. Now,
my friend Thomas Rurette with Morgan wallandninety three point one wpoc so Reddit
(07:19):
had a thing they were talking aboutCringey wedding vows. That's how they put
it. Anything you've ever seen ata wedding when people were saying their vows
that you thought was like ooh.One person said their high school best friend
said in the middle of her vows, I love you even though you cheated
on me that one time. Wayto bring that up here was somebody who
(07:42):
was actually working at a wedding,They said. The groom mentioned CrossFit in
his vows, something to the effectof, I promise to always spot you
when you do some exercise when we'redoing CrossFit together. Oh that's what they
like to do, right, Imean, maybe he was being funny.
I don't know. Someone said theythe groom did one hundred percent movie references
(08:05):
in the vows. I kept thinkinghe'd pivot to something more earnest to end
the vows, but that was it, just jokes about movie reference. Let's
see. One more person said thegroom recited the lyrics to Rick Ashley's song
never Gonna Give You What? OhGood. I don't think I've ever been
(08:28):
at a wedding where I thought thevowels were kind of strange or I don't
know. I don't mind a littlehumor in wedding vows, but generally,
I think most of the wedding vowsI've seen have been kind of sweet and
meaningful. What about you, guys, No, yeah, I feel like
most of the time it's pretty straightahead. Okay, I can't say you
(08:48):
can think of anything cringey. Imean mine were bad. I don't think
there was anything cringe in it.Like, oh, I can't believe he
said that. They just weren't.I don't know yours personally were bad because
you just didn't know what to.My wife's were so good, like she
just did a really good job writingthem out and then delivering them, and
I did not, Like I juststraight up she won, Like I did
(09:11):
not do a very good job writingout my thoughts, like I thought that
I did that. As I wasreading them, I was like, this
doesn't make any sense, Like Idon't know, it just didn't. It
didn't come across well. But Idon't think I said anything like cry,
weird or awkward in there. Itjust wasn't very good. Well that's how
my husband and I. I didthis long, kind of poetic thing and
his were like a line or twowas yeah, I should have just kept
(09:31):
mine at a line or two,Like I love you, let's do this's
for the best. Yeah, Ilove you. I'm going to take care
of you, and I love you. That was all right If you went
ever to a wedding and you justthought, well, that was awkward.
There was a moment there during thevows that something came out or something happened.
Sometimes people can get demonstrative in themiddle of the vows. That's kind
(09:56):
of interesting. But we're here foryou, and you can text us if
you want to talk about it.Just text seven seven nine sixty two and
start with higher. Hey, leaveus a text, or you can call
eight hundred three two one thirty sixninety three and yeah, it's on our
Facebook. So I always also wonderedif anyone's ever stood up when they say,
does anyone have any yeah reason Ithink these two shouldn't do this?
(10:22):
Yeah, this town until me,I've done some things on NITA mean,
it's a classic from Trisha year oneninety three point one WPOC. We've got
Luke Comb's coming up here in aminute. But we were talking about cringey
wedding vows and people who stand upand say these two shouldn't get married.
(10:45):
I know you got some texts whatdid you get it? Yeah, these
are funny. You guys are spicytoday. I like it. Uh.
I attended a wedding where the coupleswalk down the aisle to the Star Wars
theme carrying lightsabers. They are bothnow divorced, Okay, I don't have
a problem with that, though,Like, if that's your passion. I
went to a wedding like that. They had like the lightsabers. It was
(11:05):
like an interesting Star Wars and StarTrek like combo, like oh, and
there was a lot of that inthere. But I was like, but
this is what these two folks areinto. Like, I don't have a
problem yet if that's their thing.Yeah, it's cringey to you if you're
not into it, But like forthem, if that's their passion, I
have no issue with that. Sweet. After the vows, the groom and
(11:26):
bride pulled out a beer and shotgunnedit at the altar. The minister looked
horrified. I'm sure I'd like anupdate on if that couple is still together.
Hi. I got married November twentytwenty three. Ended up reading my
husband's vows for him because he wastoo emotional. It was not at all
cringey. It was actually really really, I'm gonna say that is sweet.
I have seen that happen before.I've seen that, or someone gets so
(11:50):
moved by something, or they're justthey just can't do it, they can't
get through. Well, a lotof people don't. I didn't consider this,
that all eyes are on you andlike it's kind of public speaking.
Like people didn't, you know, they're so thinking about everything else about the
day that they don't realize that they'reactually standing in front of yeah, upwards
of a couple hundred people, dependingon how big your wedding is, you
(12:13):
know. I think during my sonTaylor's wedding, I think my husband got
so emotional. I think I hadto read some of his stuff for him
because he just had to take aminute. That's sweet. Oh, this
one's this one's wild. My auntand uncle's wedding was in the dead of
summer, and in the middle ofthe vows, the minister started getting shaky
and passed out. Oh yeah, luckily another member who had taken an ordained
(12:35):
minister class finished Sometimes. Yeah,I was at a wedding where the bride
passed out and they were kneeling atthe altar, and no one knew she
did it. They just thought shewas really like praying or something. And
the person leading the wedding had thesmelling salts in because back then it wasn't
as common to have like air conditionedchurches. And I'm not it wasn't like
(12:58):
the eighteen hundreds of people. Butthe pastor just put a little bit of
the smelling salts and she came toand and the people in the back never
knew she had fainted. Seriously.Yeah, I was in the wedding party,
so I saw it. I've nevereven seen smelling salts in practically years.
Yeah, this one's wild. Iwent to a wedding many years ago.
(13:18):
A young couple were getting married. It was a ceremony with lots of
kneeling. The father of the groomwrote help me in big white letters.
Oh yeah, on the bottom ofthe groom chair. I say, that
was kind of a thing. Itwas funny to be funny. Yeah,
that was kind of a thing manyyears ago. Yeah, Oh, okay,
I wonder if they're still together.Did you get the help he needed?
(13:43):
It's Luke comes with fast car,a ninety three point one WPOC.
You get a fast it's Kenny Chesneyand it's six minutes till seven o'clock.
It's Nashville News Now with Saint Pierreon ninety three point one WPOC. All
(14:05):
right, let's dive right into therecap of the final day of Stage Coach
because it's making a bunch of headlinesover the last twenty four hours. There
were a lot of big performances fromicons like Pam Tillis and Clint Black to
newcomers Megan Maroney and Bailey Zimmerman.Ultimately, though, what everybody's been talking
about was Morgan Wallen set to closeout the night and the weekend. So
first let's address the streaming issue here. So Stage Coach Festival is being streamed
(14:26):
by Amazon Prime Video. Everyone setwas stream live with the exception of Morgan
Wallen, so fans obviously had alot of issues with this. They went
on social media, a lot ofpeople were attacking Amazon Prime. However,
the decision not to stream Morgan setwas Morgan's. They made the call.
So Wallin's camp came out and said, quote, Morgan Wallen has a special
project in the works for his fansthat precludes him from participating in live streams.
(14:48):
At this time, we don't knowwhat this special project is. However,
I am assuming the project is thatthing with post Malone that's been being
talked about. Morgan did bring postMalone out on Stay to perform their unreleased
song called I Had Some Help. It's coming out, I want to say
next week maybe, so I'm thinkingthey didn't want the set stream that way
people could record it and copy it. So that's what I'm thinking is the
(15:11):
case here. I could be wrong, there might be something else, but
that's my assumption. But the songsounds great. If you really want to
look it up, you can findsome stuff on like YouTube fans that were
in the crowd, or you cango on Instagram and see some videos of
that too, if you want totake a deep dive and try to dig
up the fan videos from that.Do you think it has anything to do
with this Court Metals. I don'tthink so, because I don't think that
would I don't know why streaming wouldhave an issue with that. I don't
(15:33):
know. I mean maybe if hetalked about it and they like, I
don't know, I don't think thatwould be an issue. I think it's
probably going to be music related. So again we'll see. Morgan also brought
out friends Hearty, Ernest Bailey Zimmermannand Eric Church. And I said this
yesterday, but what I love aboutan event like Stage Coach is that some
of the artists do hang around forthe weekend. Most concerts are just kind
(15:54):
of like one and done, Likethey roll through town, do their show
and get out. I think there'ssomething kind of cool about Eric Church like
sticking around a day or two afterhis set to perform with Morgan Wallen again
and like hang out in Stage Coachfor sleep in the tent. Oh,
I don't, probably not. Iassume I would assume we had a nicer
place than at ten, but younever know. You never know. But
they do their song Man made abar again. Lots of videos from the
(16:15):
fans and the crowd. If youwant to look up some stuff on social
media or YouTube, you can probablyfind something Stage Coach. For whatever reason,
this is very strict, Like ifyou go on YouTube, it's hard
to find a lot of really solidvideos from the performance. I'm not really
sure why they're so protective of it. I just feel like that's a free
way to publicize what was going on. But hey, that's their their call.
I suppose, but yeah, StageCoach twenty twenty four all wrapped up.
(16:38):
We'll see what happens for twenty twentyfive. Then it looks like fun.
It does look like fine. Doyou want to go one year?
We should broadcast live. We're takingthis show on the road. Is Loop
Ryan with roller Coaster. She hada cross around her. Today's Best Country
(17:03):
ninety three point one w POC BaltimoreNow Top Stories at the top of the
hour. The Orls kicked off theweek and open their series against the Yankees
with a nice victory. Grayson Rodriguezearned his fourth win of the year as
the team went on to a twoto nothing win. Game two of the
series set for tonight at six pointthirty five. Now the O' has got
some good news. They're planning onactiviting two activating two of their top pitchers
(17:25):
this week manager Brandon Hides, andthat Kyle Bradish and John Means will come
off the injured list. Bradish finishedfourth in the cy Young Award voting last
season, so he's going to bea big help if he's healthy here.
Neither has pitched in the majors thisseason due to injuries, so we'll see
what they can bring to the tablehere very soon. Today's the deadline for
some student borrowers to get debt canceledby consolidating their federal loans. The Department
of Education is making this one timepayment adjustment. It's part of the Biden
(17:48):
administration's effort to forgive nearly five billiondollars in student loans. If you think
you qualify, you should look intothat, especially because today is that deadline
and the former president's criminal hush moneytrial is set to resumed this morning.
He's charged with thirty four felonyccounts offalsifying business records in order to hide hush
money payments. Those payments were allegedlyto keep potentially damaging stories from going public
in the run up to the twentysixteen election. Taking the stand today is
(18:11):
expected to be Gary Farrow, abanker who helped the former president's former attorney
Michael Cohen, open accounts, includingone that Cohen used to buy the silence
of adult film star Stormy Daniels. That's what's going to be going down in
New York City today. That's yournews update. All right, We've got
those tickets for you, So Dirkswill be at Merriweather on August eighth,
and we've got a pair of ticketsfor callar nine eight hundred and three two
(18:33):
one thirty six ninety three. Here'sHardy and truck bet ninety three point one
wboc. Hi, good morning, who's this? Says Emmy? Hey,
Emmy, how's everything going with youtoday? What's going on? I'm just
driving a door, all right? And what kind of a job do you
(18:53):
have? What do you do?I'm a middle school counseler. Oh wow,
I bet that is an interesting job. Yeah, that's great, and
I can't imagine there is, becauseso much happens to you in middle school.
Well, listen, you've just wontickets to go see Dirk's Bentley Merriweather
August eighth. Yay, awesome, awesome, Thank you so much, Right,
(19:15):
Bob del Mott. We'll have anotherpair of tickets to give away this
afternoon at twelve all five. Soif you didn't get through this time and
coming up here in a minute, what Bethany bought in the Isle of Shame
at Aldi Maybe there's something you boughtwe want to know. We'll get to
that next. We do have apartly sunny forecast, but also a chance
(19:36):
to see a little bit of raintoday. Highs in the upper eighties.
We're at sixty four. Today's BestCountry, We're ninety three point one w
POC. That's George Burge. Iwas just sitting back finishing up my snack
of peanut butter on salary. Oh. I was listening to George. That
sounds so exciting, nice, delicious. Yeah all right, so tell us
(20:00):
what happened at Aldi. So Aldiis fun because you can save money on
groceries, but the catches they havethat aisle of like stuff. I have
never been in an Aldi, soyou will have to explain this what I
(20:22):
like to go there because they don'thave like the regularly they have some name
brands, but then they have likeAldie brands, which I find to be
fine. I mean most stores havetheir store brand. Yeah, yeah,
yeah, fun fact about Aldi.Did you know, and I just found
this out maybe a year or twoago, that Trader Joe's and Aldi are
the same company. Yes, yeah, yes, I did. Yes,
(20:45):
was telling me about this and Iwas like, that's fascinating. Actually,
yeah, and you can there area lot of the same products in both
stores. Like sometimes they have adifferent name, but at least I've been
to Trader Joe's. Yeah, soI guess you've kind of been to Aldie.
So then there's this aisle typically rightin the middle of the store,
where they just have all kinds ofgoodies and or junk, depending on how
(21:07):
you look at it. Okay thatyou don't need, but you might need,
so you gotta go down the aisle. Food items are all kinds of
it. Yeah, okay, Likedo you want to like a stuffed crow
for your wall? Maybe you'll findthat you. Uh, they're in that
aisle. You can get socks,a welcome matt, shoes. I would
they have all these shoes? Yep? Well I saw that either day books,
(21:30):
candles. Oh, I might pickup a book. Yeah, I
mean just all kinds of stuff.Okay, now I'm gonna have to go
some of my I think my favoritethings that I've gotten in that aisle are
like serving dishes really pretty. Andare they is it like an aisle where
you get a great deal they're lessexpensive or no, it's just a random
ale. No, I think they'rethey're probably priced pretty well. Okay,
(21:52):
Yeah, like I think like myservant, like I got like a two
pack of serving dishes for like fourteenninety nine, which I think is for
good. That's pretty good price anyway, love it. And I just wondered
if anybody's found anything good or canyou stay away? And is there anything
weird because serving dishes that's not weird? Anything strange you bought in that aisle?
(22:14):
Well, yeah, I brought.I bought sports bras before in that
aisle. I felt a little weird. I was like, should you get
your sports bra at a grocery?I don't know what about you, Saint
Pierre. Anything weird you found inthat aisle. We've got like kids stuff,
like like plates, like children's plates, or like we got like a
what's that stuff? Like the sandthat kids play with, the kinetics safe
(22:34):
sand. We got some kinetic sandfrom there. Oh, I get my
dog's outfits a lot. Oh thereyou go. They have like little dog,
I have tiny down outfit. Yesthey do, right, I'm going
That's all I needed to say. When I started watching Parks and Recreation,
I didn't I had not been toan Ald at that time, and I
didn't know. And I'm assuming thisis what it's based off of. But
(22:55):
like there's a store in the townwhere Parks and Wreck is that Ron Swantson
likes to go too, called theFood and Stuff. And you go there
and you get your food and Stuff, and it's just like there's a couple
episodes where they like walk out withlike, you know, eight pounds of
Hamburger meat and then all these otherrandom items that they just felt like they
needed. And after I went toall the I was like, oh my
god, it's based on the likethe Food and Stuff is based on the
(23:18):
Litel is. Do you guys saylittle, I say Litel, Okay,
Litel has a stuff. Yeah,it's similar. Yeah, I mean I
think most grocery stores do. ButI don't know why it's more fun at
these places. I don't understand.Feels like it's a smaller it's a little
more varied than some of the otherIt's a trap, I think, is
what it is. It's kind oflike a smaller version of like a Sam's
(23:40):
Club or Costco. You know theyhave that like random spot in the middle
of the store where there's like, you know, T shirts or books or
whatever. Like it's kind of likethat, but a smaller, you know,
version of it. That's not awarehouse. It's a grocery store,
all right, So weird stuff youbought in the aisle. What can you
justify when your milk is like adollar cheaper? You're like, oh,
I say that much, so Ishould buy all this the stuffed cross flatware.
(24:03):
Yeah, oh, somebody said,I just on text I bought a
canopy. Okay, right, okay, all right, gosh, I'm so
curious now, Jordan Davis, Ididn't know if we were over just Red
Morgan Wallen ninety three point one wPOC. It's amazing. We have another
(24:26):
brand new secret sound today that we'vebeen burning through these the last couple of
days, so I think today's isharder. But we'll see our secret sound
contest. If you've never heard usplay it, We just play a short
clip of a sound which you're tryingto identify, so it goes by very
quickly if you're the right caller andcan guess the sound. We have one
(24:48):
hundred dollars gift card from Conrad SeafoodRestaurants. They're in Perry Hall, and
abbing didn't go to conradscrabs dot comand read all about it. We do
give you a touch bit of helptoday. Yeah. Over on our ext
w POC a puzzle piece clue thatcomes together each day. So yeah,
one tiny piece for you. Soyes piece yesterday we had somebody get it
in one yeah, yeah, andI noticed Saint Pierre was like, okay,
(25:11):
hold my beer because this one ishard. This was like, I
will not let that happen again. All right, So day one of a
new sound. We play the soundtwice just to be sure you heard it.
So here we go. Listen closely. Here's Laurie D Young's secret sound
at seven forty Oh all right, let's do that one more time. What
(25:38):
do you think it is? Theyalways sound different when you play them from
there for some reason. Like whenI played it here, I'm like,
that's really hard. Then I justheard I'm like I can hear that.
I mean, I don't know.It is impossibly Okay, yeah, I
wouldn't know what it is. Butthere's a lot of sounds that I don't
Okay. Eight hundred and three twoone thirty six ninety three, that's the
phone number. Just one guess willget collar niner. See if we could
(26:02):
give it away Day one again. There's so much going on in this town
to keep me busy. I've beenrunning a round up and down all these
avenues, doing everything to think andbout you. As long as I stay
on the mountain, fine, seethis side of the little seety living signs.
(26:26):
You don't really cross my mind.As soon as I get out here
on the stairs, I wish Iwas telling everybody your house first, something
about the summer in the sun, shirts, shine, slid coat down,
geese old round many a valley, throws way back in. I follow away
the grass grows, got the money, baby away with that cross dish in
(26:51):
his town and settle intown down hereon the skirts. It's out. I
had a licking damn since i'd beon the grange Saturday that things. Little
starter has to finally alcohol throve afig a bat as, smiling out there
(27:17):
walking down big o yellow buckets aboutthe breakround by shoot, my baby man
said as soon as I get outhere, only because I wish I was
down everybody, okay, something aboutthe summer in the south, to shine
side and down past on rap backvalley back so way back in im ho
(27:41):
my weather. The brown girls gota buddy paying meland down and this time
said sirs, I'm over here ona Saturday night. Miss the starting around.
(28:03):
You will call it you up home, stay, have a couple of
babies, raising up, Brad, take them to the river, get them
back times back in our day outof Tuesday, I would job hanging out.
Okay, ride you got a moneybaby with that teaching uptown rostand You're
(28:30):
only say I'm a hunt ninety threepoint one w P o CEE. Kelly's
driving to work, guys. What'sup, Kelly, Kelly? Good morning,
(28:52):
Kelly. What kind of a jobdo you have? What is it
you're doing? I'm a teacher,okay, Andre do you teach? I
teach in Baltimore City and a specificgrade or a subject or what I'm a
special educator? Okay, good, that's excellent. Well, thanks for all
(29:15):
the good work that you do.We're thinking. Okay, day one.
You're very brave to call in andtry to guess what that sound is.
But you're confident, right, Kelly. I'm not, but that's at all.
But she is honest. Okay,Well, today is honesty day.
Go ahead, tell us what youthink it is. Is it a three
(29:37):
D printer? Is it a threeD printer? No, it's never had
that guest before, I don't likethat, guest. We've got some scratch
offs from the Maryland State Lottery togive you. There's ten of those.
You could win up to one thousanddollars too, So that's not a bad
way to go, right. It'snot at all called corner payout. It's
(30:03):
a scratch off game. So we'llsend you those, and Kelly, we
just appreciate you listening to the show. Okay, all right, well,
thank you so much. Bye,having any day at work. Bye?
There she goes, coming up ina minute. Sometimes you'll go away for
the weekend without your significant other andwhen you come back you can feel like,
(30:23):
oh, maybe there's a little ketchupto play or I don't know what
we want to call that, butSaint Pierre will talk about it next.
We do have a partly sunny daytoday, also that chance of a shower
at some point. High's in theupper eighties this afternoon. We have sixty
five now Darius Rucker ninety three pointone WPOC. We'll get to Nate Smith
(30:55):
in a minute. So Saint Pierre, you're out of town over the weekend
and enjoy have a little time toyourself, and you're talking about it yesterday,
how that's an important thing. Ido agree. I think people need
like you can love your family todeath, but you still need to like
refresh one. See what is itlike just to be me my mind.
I heard someone say yesterday we're watchinga TV show and they're like, I
need to step away and fill mycup, and I was like, you
(31:18):
know what, I think that's areally good way to put it. Like
sometimes you kind of get drained out, you empty things out, you got
to fill it back up and thencome back into the world. But when
your significant other has been home kindof holding down the fort, sometimes you
can walk back in and feel likenow you've got to pay yes. And
I think in more ways than one. And I think my wife is very
supportive of the things that I chooseto do. But I don't think that
(31:41):
she loves a that she's missing out. She has We've talked about this for
years, she and I she hasserious fomo like she I don't know,
people don't use that phrase anymore, but she has such a fear of missing
out on something. She doesn't gowith you right exactly, and so she
gets very like I always say,she gets upset, but I can tell
that she doesn't like love the ideathat she gets a little edge well,
especially when it's something that we've donebefore together. Like we used to go
(32:06):
to Nashville together for this Saint Juderace every year. We did it for
I don't know, four or five, maybe even six years together, and
then pandemic happened, then maybe happened, and she has not been able to
come back with me and do itsince. So we're hoping next year maybe
we can figure it out or wecan go together. But it's been me
and some guys the last couple ofyears, some guy friends of mine,
and I think there's like jealousy.Maybe I don't know if that sounds aggressive,
(32:27):
but I think she just feels like, man, that used to be
my trip not there. But whenI come back home, it's kind of
like it felt a little bit likeshe was going to save everything that needed
to get done for me when Igot home, Like I washed every single
pot and pan that we owned yesterday. They were all in the sink extra
(32:49):
just to make sure you hadn't rightexactly. She like made soup and made
lazangnia. I'm like, you haven'tmade either one of these things. Ever,
why are you doing it now?So there was definitely some okay,
case you weren't home cook. Yeah, yes, well that's it. There
was some recovery that needed to happenin the house. The dog hadn't been
fed. Well, no, thedog. I don't want to paint a
(33:10):
bad picture. The dog had beenfed. I was just joking yesterday off
the air that usually my dog isa grazer, so we'll put food in
her bowl and she eventually gets toit when she's hungry. But I put
food in her bowl yesterday morning andshe ran right. I was like,
did nobody feed you? No,they did feed her. They actually asked
my wife, and I was like, I know, this is a really
crappy question to ask you because Iknow you love the dog and I need
(33:34):
to ask this question. She's like, no, oh my gosh, Like
I specifically remember feed and your daughterput way too much food in the bowl
at one point. So it waskind of funny. But yeah, I
do feel like I got the paybackfor going away. Things have leveled out,
right, you know for now.Yeah, until the next time I
have to go away or she hasto go away, I tell her she
can go away all the time needsto take as a little more household in
(34:09):
the moment, It's Tyler Hubbard andIt's eight eleven to keep us in the
(34:37):
loop of entertainment and pop culture andthe things we shouldn't care about, but
somehow we really do. East BethanyFree on ninety three point one. Quick
vote. Do we need this ornot? A live action No? A
live action TV series based on ScoobyDoo. No, no, not?
(34:58):
Probably not? Okay, great,Well let's coming to Netflix. Oh good,
whether you like it or not?Where else would it come. After
a bumpy start to the season, the Minnesota Twins seem to have turned things
around thanks to some sausage in thedugout now stop. After a six to
eleven start to the season, KyleFarmer put out a package of summer sausage
(35:21):
in the clubhouse. Nobody ate itas a snack, but people started tapping
it, tapping it before they wentto the plate. You're joking. I'm
not joking. And they've they've beenwinning, They've had the hottest streets since
they've had in years. Isn't thisexciting? There's too much ways to go?
You know, we're just being quietthey're calling it the magic powers of
(35:45):
the home run Sausage. Okay, they won seven in a row. Yeah.
The bosses here today don't bring storieslike well, somebody asked him to
go get us a sausage so wecan keep this writing streak going. Okay,
here's another thing I'm not sure weneed, but we're getting it.
Recently retired NFL star Jason Kelcey hasjoined ESPN's pregame show Monday Night Countdown.
(36:10):
I saw that. I thought he'dbe a better fit for Amazon, but
I'll take it. Yeah, I'lltake it too. And speaking of Jason
Kelcey, this is exactly what Ithink he smells like. KFC. You've
smelled him before. No, justin my imagination. I think KFC is
getting a fragrance. The fast foodrestaurant has come out with a charcoal and
(36:31):
smoked wood scent perfume. In astatement, KFC said, we've all been
there, that unmistakable aroma of barbecuedrifting through the air. Don't you think
Jason Kelsey kind of smells like that? It's called no No, But I
think this is one of those otherthings we don't really need. Yeah,
it's called number twelve. Oh tobarbecue and it comes in a designer bottle.
(36:55):
The bad news is, guys,it's already sold out. Oops,
all right, I'll live. Theymight make more. They might make more.
That's what I've got for you, sir, far We've got more in
zeiders coming up here in a minute. We do have sunshine right now,
it's pretty outside. Temperature is goingto the upper eighties this afternoon. Right
(37:15):
now, it is sixty eight ninetythree point one WPOC Traffic an exit repursary,
Today's Best Country ninety three point onew POC Baltimore Now Top stories at
the top of the hour. Justa few days away from the may primary
for the race for mayor of BaltimoreCity. Tonight, we'll get a closer
look at the top four candidates.Really, it's kind of shaping up to
(37:37):
be a race between current mayor andBrandon Scott and former Mayor Shila Dixon.
But they will be joined tonight fora debate by Bob Wallace and through of
Vignarasha. The debate is being sponsoredby the Baltimore Banner WJZWYPR and the Shafer
Center for Public Policy at the Universityof Baltimore. You'll be able to watch
it tonight on WJZ. It's alsogoing to be streaming on the Baltimore Banner
and jay Z's websites later tonight aswell. Heads up, if you live
(38:00):
travel through the Mount Vernon area ofBaltimore starting Thursday morning, there will be
road closures all around the area. Those closures are do do this weekend's annual
flower Mart event, and the roadswill be closed through Saturday night. Bethany's
going to have all your traffic updatesonce we get to that point as well,
but just a heads up that it'sgoing to be coming your way later
this week. I told you earliertoday about how protests against Israel's war against
Amas have now extended to Johns HopkinsUniversity. A gathering that started yesterday broke
(38:22):
up early this morning, but organizersdid vow to return. Things are taking
a turn at Columbia University today. This is kind of the story that's been
grabbing a lot of headlines recently.A student group claims that it is now
occupying an academic building on campus.Columbia. Students for Justice and Palestine posted
that dozens of students now occupy HamiltonHall and protest on protest of what it
calls the university's complicity in genocide thestudents. Known to that Hamilton Hall was
(38:45):
the site of a nineteen sixty eightoccupation when students were protesting the Vietnam War.
And it sounds like the president ofEmra University in Atlanta may be looking
for a new job over this kindof situation as well. A call for
a faculty no confidence vote for thepress resident of the university has been approved.
He's come under fire following altercations oncampus between law enforcement and protesters.
(39:06):
The motion by the faculty referred tothe protests as a peaceful demonstration and condemned
the administration's decision to summon the policeto the campus. So this is having
some wide ranging effects all across thecountry at campuses all over the place.
So it's kind of an interesting thingto watch develop here. That's your news
update. I always wonder if parentsare looking at all that going, Are
they still going to class? I'msure some parents are my parents. I
(39:30):
hope this isn't distracting them from theirclass. The answer was no. Even
when there were no protests. Iwas also not going all right. Coming
up on your brief Bethany, whatare you going to be talking? Oh
baby, A new fragrance that Ithink you're really going to get behind.
Okay, use a little TV updatefor you, all right, we've got
(39:51):
Luke Combs right now. Beautiful crazyher days darms with the coffee names,
with I tics, forever getting ready, so she's never on time for anything,
but she gets that con get melook in her eyes. It kind
(40:15):
of scares me, the way thatshe drives me. Why she drives me? Why
