Speaker 1 (00:00):
Have you been touring like all summer long? How many
dates are you doing in twenty twenty four?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
You know what I'm telling everybody, say, brother, I've been
touring for twelve years now. I haven't stopped.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
It never ends. That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
It never ends. We just get it. We just get
longer breaks. Now now we're approaching, got new new singles
about to come out, new album's done, we're just reading
to get it out. That's a whole new chapter. And
then with that, you know, like the fans, everybody gets
to hear new music and we get to play new music,
and it's just more excitement. So you kind of get
bummed though when you're like the you know you're ready
to put new music out and you're just like waiting.
(00:35):
I'm at that phase right now. Okay, I'm ready for
new music. We're just coming very soon.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
What's the new song? Tell me the new song? What's
the name of it? Can you tell me?
Speaker 2 (00:43):
It's called Friday Night Heartbreaker?
Speaker 1 (00:44):
All right, they're are mister Saturday Night and Friday Night Heartbreaker.
I like that. Every day of the week you should
do a song.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Be great, hey man, you know, we just living this
life of love I love it. Sometimes there's some heartbreak
women out there. Look out, hey, your.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Show with us Thursday at a Peer six Pavilion in
Baltimore is a party on the pier. How many times
have you utilized that last day? It must be awesome, man,
that's great.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
We try not to do it all the time, but
there's a lot of times that you just can't. You
can't resist it, you know, make too much.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Say no, it's awesome. And I loved your party time
series that you had. I've watched a couple of episodes.
I just saw the Christmas one again with you trying
to put the star at the top of the tree
and then you're sitting You're man, the characters you do.
You have such a great personality. Man, you're hysterical. Really,
I try.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
That was a funny time and that show kind of
got us through. Now I'm being on the road, so
we had a lot of fun.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Would you ever do something more like that?
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Yeah, But like with all these networks and everything, they
got so much red tape because that worked because I
was just at the house, you know, But these days
were on the road and like different, I mean, they
get mad if there's like a Coca Cola sign in
the back or you can't control and like I'm like, man,
we can't be at random place. It's telling us to
take the sign down off the wall. Uh, that makes
(02:00):
it hard.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
It's kind of micromanaging from people from upstairs.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Huh everybody. I don't know. Man, it's all about labels
and what they can and can't use. It does make
it hard. That's why that's why there's movie sets. Yeah,
I hear you, TV sets.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Hey, man, we're coming up like on a year anniversary
of you becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opera.
How do you you I'm sure that is ingrained in
your head that night with a garth there and everything.
How often does one have to play the opera to
me be a member? I forget the number.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
I think that one's that one that's kind of out
the window now. The new operas like super cool. Oh okay,
and uh, it's just you got to be invited.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
I see, yes, yeah, yeah, you have to play.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
I mean you've got to be a constant, you know,
person that's you know, you're showing up showing that you
love playing. So we were always playing, especially you know,
we were just always had oper dates on the book. Yeah,
and we always had great shows, and so that's kind
of how instead of like forcing you got to play
it this many times, you just got to be always
coming back and how having a great time. And and
(03:01):
it is a special place, and I think it's getting
more of mainstream than it ever has. Of like, of
course it's got like the legendaries, you know, and the
whole story is behind it. See, but now you get it,
you know, you get your older crowd and you get
this young crowd. It's about to go downtown and do
all kinds of crazy stuff. Like it's definitely a fun place.
I think it's funner than it's ever been. And I'm
(03:23):
glad to be a part of something that's growing. And
they got big stuff everywhere.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Yeah, I think I saw you. You might be going there
in March, maybe beforehand, I don't know, but yeah, that's
that's awesome. And Nashville itself, it's just that lower Broadway
with all the bars. Everyone's opening up their own bar
and it's just it's more insane than ever in a
good way. Just people having a blast there.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Oh they have they having fun. An HER's the Bush.
We've got to be Stepka that get Nash Fields are
a number one.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Pain in city, right right, sure, of course. Well, you
know I mentioned your personality is so awesome. I think
you have a great sense of humor. You have talent
above being a singer song right. What were you like
as a kid, I mean were you? Were you trouble
as a kid.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
I was definitely trouble, but I'd always like somehow make
it okay because it was always fun trouble. It wasn't
bad troubles.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
That makes sense, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
I wasn't doing anything like breaking laws, but maybe you know,
flirting where girls go a little too far, cracking a
joke gets a little too far. Yeah, I have to like,
you know, reprimand it. You know, I didn't mean it,
blah blah. I was gonna say we doing teenagers?
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Were you kind of gone down? Could you like talk
your way out of stuff a lot? No?
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Okay, I never. I never was that good, but I
was funny.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Yeah, yeah, that's kind of what I mean.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
There's a different personality. Yeah, sometimes, but like I knew
guys that could do that. I'm like, how the hell
did you get out of that?
Speaker 1 (04:43):
I'd be like, I'm sorry, what do you like to
do in the summer? Summer's wrapping up pretty much. I
know you're on tour, like I, do you have time
to do anything else? Do you like? I don't know
you a waterskier? Are you a beach guy? If you
had the time? What's your thing? Man?
Speaker 2 (05:01):
I'm telling you now, my thing is baby girls. There
you go, That's what I do in my time off.
I have two little baby girls and I'm gone quite
a bit, so there's no more. We drive around and
can ms and go check on the properties and play
with the garden hose. That's a big hit the house
right now, only eighteen months, but like it's it's been fun.
So my off time is trying to be the best
(05:23):
dad I can right now.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah, that's awesome, dude. Look, we're looking forward to seeing
you Thursday. It's party on the Pier Pier six Pavilion
in Baltimore. You have so many heads and by it
just an offset, I mean my wife loves going to
all the country concerts I can bring her to, but

seeing you because of all your your hit songs. So
we're all looking forward to seeing you here in Baltimore.
Speaker 2 (05:46):

we're looking forward to it.
