Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome to the weekly show here on iHeartRadio
on ninety three to nine, Light FM, one on three
five Kiss FM, and Rock ninety five to five. I'm Paulina,
and every week we're here to discuss a variety of
topics that matter to Chicagoland. Today on the show, we
have Jonathan Walton joining us, a victim turned scam artist vigilant,
and we are talking about his book, Autonomy of a

(00:21):
Con Artist. We also have another episode of a Whitney's
Women featuring Whitney, Reynolds and Brady, and I'll be chatting
with Chicago family Dulas and the owner Anna Rodney about
their latest upcoming event. Let's kick off the show.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Forty million Americans have lost as much as forty seven
billion dollars last year alone from all sorts of frauds
and scams, identity theft. Plenty of those were smart, informed
people who were sure they'd never become victims. Let's talk
about it with Jonathan Walden. He is a victim turned
scam artists vigilante. His book is titled Anatomy of a

(00:56):
Con Artist, The fourteen Red Flags to Spot Scammers and
Thieves and you can follow him and his podcast on
Instagram at Queen of the con Jonathan, good to talk to.
I appreciate the.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Time, Thank you so much for having me on many
happy to be here.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
So let's start at the beginning. How did you become
a victim of a scam?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Well, you know, I met this woman who entered my
life the way I've come to learn most con artists
enter the victims' lives. She offered to help, you know,
she was a new neighbor, and we quickly became fast friends.
And she, you know, there was nothing romantic. You know,
I'm a happily married gay man, and and she quickly,

(01:44):
you know, dug her feet and herself into my life,
offering to help with a problem we were having in
the community. You know, our building lost our swimming pool.
She claimed to be dating this politician who she was
actually dating, who was going to help us get our
pool back. And we all, you know, my neighbors and myself,
we gravitated towards her and we believed her. Turns out

(02:05):
it was all a scam just to get into our lives.
And as soon as she found out that part of
my family had disowned me for being gay, she bounced
with her. Well, my family disowned me too, because they're
trying to get me disinherited. You know, she says she
was from Ireland. She you know, she showed me text
and emails from all these characters and she's locked in

(02:25):
this legal battle to get her inheritance. And over the
course of four years, you know, I fell in love
with her as much as any gay man can love
a woman. She became like a sister to me. You know,
we would end our phone calls with I love you,
I love you, because you know, we weren't just two
new friends. We were two discarded souls bonding over the

(02:45):
fact that our families didn't want us anymore on the
other side of the world here in Los Angeles. So,
you know, over the course of four years, I loaned
her money to fight this battle to get her inheritance
because I believed it was real. I believed everything she
told me was real. Come to find out, you know,
close to one hundred thousand dollars later, she was a
complete fraud. She wasn't from Ireland. She was from Maine,

(03:08):
and she was an inveterate con artist. And while she
was scamming me, she was scamming dozens and dozens and
dozens of other victims. She impersonated a psychologist in Los Angeles.
She had a dozen patients, you know, paying her for
therapy as a psychologist, and she was using the intimate
details of their lives to scam them, you know. She

(03:30):
wasn't paying rent in my building. She convinced our landlord
that she had cancer, and she would text photos of
herself in a hospital bed to get out of paying
rent because our landlord felt sorry for her. Who doesn't
feel sorry for someone battling cancer, like she is just
a shape shifting con woman. So I went to police.

(03:50):
They turned me away. I started my own investigation, you know,
and it took me two years, but I eventually got
her charged and convicted of scamming, and she got sentenced
to five years in jail. And my story kind of
made national headlines all over and I started getting contacted
by tons of other victims of other different con artists,

(04:11):
asking for my help, telling me I inspired them, you know,
And I started investigating hundreds of other con artist cases.
Some people play golf on the weekends. I hunt con artists,
and very quickly I started to discern I was like,
wait a minute, Wait a minute. All the techniques that
my con artists used on me are identical to the

(04:34):
techniques that all these disparate other con artists are using
on their victims. Identical. So I started, you know, cataloging
them as I investigated these cases, and I wrote a
book about it, like, these are the fourteen red flags
every professional con artist working today is using.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
I want to get to the red flags and everything
else that bad decisions and the misunderstandings. But you've mentioned
to me before that people who think there's no way
they would ever become victims of a fraud or a
scam artist or anything like that are exactly the people
that these scam artists are looking.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
For, exactly. And I used to be one of those people.
I didn't think I could ever fall for a scam
or a con artist, you know, And people approach me
all the time that these book signings and they're like,
you're such a smart guy, how do you get scammed?
And I reply, listen, con artists don't outsmart you. They're

(05:32):
not smarter than you. Con Artists outfeel you. They use
your emotion to scam you and manipulate you. Because once
you're making decisions with your heart and not your head,
You're gonna make bad decisions. You know, love is the
most powerful force there is in the universe. People will
kill for love, people will die for love. You will

(05:52):
do anything for a person you loved. And when a
con artist meets a mark, that is their number one goal.
The con artist needs to get that mark to love
them or love a situation, or care deeply about a
situation they've created out of hope both because when you're
using your heart, when your heart takes over, you make
bad decisions. And yeah, if you're one of these people

(06:14):
listening and you think, oh, I could never get conned,
you're exactly who they're looking for because your defenses are down.
If you think it can't happen, you won't suspect it
when it does.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
And you talk about how she won your trust not
only because you were friends and you were sharing and
this misery and sadness with your families, but you loan
her money and she promptly paid you back, so that
made you trust her even more.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Absolutely. And that's one of the red flags I I
write about in the book. It's called beak wedding baka
beak like a bird's beak wedding wedding like getting wet
we your beak. A professional con artist. And I noticed
this in a lot of investment scams and some love scams,
and it certainly was in my scam. You know that
my con artist did to me. You know, they'll give

(07:05):
you a little money upfront, and that you know, I
loaned her five thousand dollars. She paid me back the
next day, and that made me confident to loan her
more money down the line. And for those who don't know,
con artist is short for confidence artists, because these people
are brilliant at engineering confidence in them from you, you know.

(07:25):
And that's what she did. And in a lot of
investment scams that I've investigated over the years, you know,
people you know, they're getting a high return on their money,
or so it would seem on paper, and then they
get a little money the first month, and what do
they do. They let it roll. They put that money
back in. They want to reinvest that money, you know.
And the con artist knows this. The con artist knows

(07:46):
when they give you a little money upfront, it'll get
you confidence. Do you want to put the money back
in and let it let it ride? And make even
more money, but you're not making any money. It's all
an elaborate scheme.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Are there are there differences in the scams, the love
scams like you're trapped in, or the financial scams and
something that is just an identity, THEEF scam. Click on
this link and we will help you, or you could
get a deal or whatever.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
I mean.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
The current artists that I've investigated are real life, real
life people that move into your life and you don't
know they're a con artist and they're scamming your friends,
they're scamming your family, but no one's talking about it
until years later. Yeah, they've already got away. My advice
in the book. If you're listening to these words now,
and it's a free service everyone, you know, log on
to the different three credit reporting bureaus and freeze your credits.

(08:36):
It's easy to do. You just log into each site Experience, TransUnion, Equifax.
Click I want to freeze my credit. I want to
freeze my credit. I want to freeze my credit. It
doesn't cost you anything when your credit is frozen. No one,
not you, not your family, not a scammer. No one
can get credit or a loan in your name. And
you will protect your credit moving forward. If you want to,

(08:57):
you know, buy a car or get a mortgage, you
can log on unfreeze your credit, do the mortgage, do
the car loan, and then love Beckon and freeze it again.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
You know.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
I write about this in the last chapter of Anatomy
of a Con Artists. Everyone listening should freeze their credit
right now.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
One of the other things that you talk about is
the shame. People who become victims won't talk about it
or won't go to law enforcement because they're so shameful
that they've allowed this to happen to them.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Yes, and that's only half the story, right, Absolutely, they
were shame they fell to the con. But this is
another red flag I write about in my book Anatomy
of a con Artist. One of the red flags they wave.
I call it the TMI red flag too much information.
When you meet this new person who's a con artist,
they pretend to start revealing their deep dark secrets to you.
TMI too much information. You just met them and they're

(09:46):
telling you all their deep dark secrets. Well what does
that do? Number One? It makes you think, Wow, I
can trust this person. They must really trust me with
their deep dark secrets so I can trust them. And
number two aren't revealing your details.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
You have secrets. Yeah, their secrets are faith yours are real.
So by the time the con happens months or years later,
like in my case, they know all your secrets and
you don't want them talking to police. You don't want
them tell me anyone, so you keep quiet. This is
a technique con artists use to keep their victims quiet,
and it works.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Was there one thing and all of these these hunts
that you've conducted to track down con artists that surprised you.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Yes, they're They're the one thing that surprised me again
and again. And it's a sad thing to say. Most
con artists are psychopaths. They don't have any feeling. They
they've scammed, they've been disowned by their family, they've scammed
their their children, they've scanned their parents. They don't have
I don't believe they have a soul. I don't believe

(10:53):
there they are human as we understand a human being
to be. Because even a mob boss, a profest, you know,
like organized crime, and they kill all these people. They
love their mother, they love their children, They have some
kind of moral code they live by. A professional con
artists has no code. They will scam their children, their mother,

(11:18):
their husband, they'll scam anyone. So I don't believe they
have a soul. I think they're just here to put
us on guard and to hurt us, to make us
stronger ultimately. But it's a painful process to go through.
Ask me how I.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Know much easier have things like dating apps and social media, Facebook, Venmozelle,
things like that made it for these con artists to
find victims.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Oh so much easier because listen, when you're on a
dating app, you don't even realize what you're revealing about
yourself to a potential con artist. Right you are single,
you're looking for love. They are going to appear, they're
going to pretend to be all these things you're looking for,
and they're going to woo you with every single one
of these red flags, starting with they're gonna offer to help.

(12:03):
Red flag number one, they're gonna be too kind, too quick.
Red flag number two, they're gonna bring a lot of drama.
Red flag number three, they're gonna isolate you. Red flag
number four isolate you from people who would talk to
you out of going along with the con. They're gonna
tell you how much better than they are, how much
better they are than you. You know, they're gonna make
you look up to them. I'm better than you. Red
Flag number five. They're gonna use technology. They're gonna use

(12:27):
digital screens. They're gonna use their cell phone, their laptop screen,
grabs of bank accounts, they show you how much money
they have, or to prove any situation that they're telling
you about is real. Red Flag number eight, we talked
about it. They're gonna use some beak wedding. You know,
if you know what these red flags are to look
out for, you can spot these people a mile away,
I promise you.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Jonathan Walton is his name. His website is Jonathanwalton dot com.
The book is titled Anatomy of a Con artists the
fourteen red Flags to spot scammers, grifters, and thieves, and
you can follow her his podcast on Instagram at Queen
of the Con. Jonathan always appreciate it for your time
and the information.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Be well. Best of luck you too many. Thank you
so much.

Speaker 5 (13:09):
We are back once again. It is the ray of
sunshine in our lives that we all need, no matter
what the weather is from the Witney Reynolds Show, the
One and Only Whitney Reynolds for Whitney's Women in special edition.
We're going back to.

Speaker 6 (13:22):
Back, baby, back to back baby. Yes, go Whitney's Women
plural edition this weekend. No. I love it because the
fall really ramps up for our nonprofit scene, and I
am having one of my very favorite people. She's a
guru at her job when it comes to marketing and communications,
and she does it all for Lung Help with the

(13:43):
Respiratory Health Association. Please welcome Sarah Meyer Q. Welcome girlfriend.

Speaker 7 (13:49):
Hey guys, thanks for having me.

Speaker 6 (13:52):
Yeah, well, it is the perfect time to have you
on the radio waves because October is actually Lung Help
Awareness Month. Tell us what's going on with the Respiratory
Health Association.

Speaker 7 (14:05):
Thanks Whitney. Yes, all month long through October. RIHA is
having a citywide campaign with participating local businesses that are
putting on special offers and promotions all in support of
clean air and healthy lungs, and every purchase helps fund

(14:25):
respiratory health associations work.

Speaker 6 (14:28):
Yeah. I love that. So let's go to the question
of clean and healthy lungs and what that looks like
because that is your mission, and there's so many different
initiatives that help you accomplish that. Walk us through what
that means to you, guys.

Speaker 7 (14:44):
Sure, we are out and about in Chicago Land all
year long, but especially during the school year. Our health
educators go to Chicago Land schools and teach kids about
how to best manage their asthma as well as the
dangers of bathing. And we do that with thousands of

(15:08):
Chicago Land students during the school year.

Speaker 6 (15:12):
That is amazing. And you also are working on policy
change as well. There's so many different wings to the
work you guys are doing. And your office is actually
pretty close to my studio. I'm in Lowndell, but you
are right over by where the bulls play.

Speaker 8 (15:26):
That's right.

Speaker 7 (15:27):
That's right.

Speaker 6 (15:29):
So tell us you said October is Lung Health Awareness
Month and you've partnered with local businesses. I would love
for you to name drop a few of these businesses
and how they are giving back to you guys and
your initiative.

Speaker 7 (15:42):
Oh my gosh, we've got so many great local businesses
helping us out this month. Stores, bakeries, yoga studios. You
can head over to Spavia and get a nice massage,
a portion of which we'll go back to Prostratory Health Association.
Stop in for a drink at Kaiser Tiger. They have

(16:06):
a special Breathe Easy cocktail that with proceeds going to Raja.
Or you can swing over to Jenny's for some ice cream,
and if you're running the marathon this month, you can
swing by Fleet Feet. They're also offering promotions.

Speaker 6 (16:25):
Oh I hear Brady's name all over that he is
running the marathon this Sunday.

Speaker 5 (16:31):
Oh yeah, yeah, you're speaking my love language between Fleet
fee ice cream and a massage.

Speaker 7 (16:35):
I'm all in on a hill, so wonderful.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
I know.

Speaker 6 (16:39):
They also have some businesses like coval I mean everything.
It's amazing because they have this variety of other businesses
that are saying, hey, we want to get behind what
you're doing. But it's really easy for our listeners to
do things that they would normally like to do. Like no,
I mean, I'm not saying that you love a lot
of ice cream, Brady, but like who doesn't. So when
you're getting ice cream, knowing that it's going back to

(17:01):
a bigger mission is huge. And so all this is
on your website. Tell people where they can learn more
saram sure.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
So.

Speaker 7 (17:10):
The full list of participating businesses is at resphealth dot
org slash Breathe easy. So that's r E S p
H E A l t H dot org slash Breathe Easy.

Speaker 6 (17:25):
I love it, and we also have it on our
website and our socials. Before I let you go, though,
there is another big event that I know, Brady Nighted
last year. My husband actually placed in a category for it.
But Hustle up the handcock you want to give us
a little plug for what's upcoming there.

Speaker 7 (17:42):
Yes, we will be back at eight seventy five North
Michigan for Hustle Chicago Stare Climb. Mark your calendars for Sunday,
February twenty second, twenty twenty six. You got plenty of
time to train and you can go up all one thousand,
six one hundred and thirty two stairs to the top
and then end up out at the beautiful three sixty

(18:06):
Chicago Observatory. It's a great it's a great event and
a great day. Please join us.

Speaker 6 (18:10):
It really is, and it's one of those bucket list
items that I know for me personally, I always like
to think about some unique experience that you don't always
get and how often do you get to literally walk
up all of the stairs of a skyscraper and like
have bragging rights when you're passing it in ubers or
with your friends having dinner down there. And Brady, we
did that together. It was a very special moment we

(18:32):
did in Whitney.

Speaker 5 (18:33):
I gotta be honest, I was super super impressed with
your time and also your son's time that were running
past me up those stairs.

Speaker 6 (18:42):
You know, it is for all ages. We saw a
great variety of ages. And Sarah, do you remember how
old the oldest participant was.

Speaker 7 (18:50):
It was the ninety I believe. I believe they were
eighty three, but it really runs the gamut. And yes
to Brady's the eight and nine year olds, they smoke
us every time.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
It was great. Though it burned a lot of energy,
it created a core family memory and it's one of
those things that we will continue to support.

Speaker 5 (19:12):
Well.

Speaker 6 (19:12):
Sarah, thank you so much for coming on.

Speaker 7 (19:15):
Oh, thank you so much for having me.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Awesome, awesome stuff Whitney. We got to do that Stare
climb again. But you know what, we're not done yet.
We're playing double duty. And I'm not surprised because you're
the busiest woman that I know. So here we go
another interview for Whitney's Women Round two.

Speaker 6 (19:27):
Here we go. It is October and we have two
in a row, fantastic women and two different, very very
different organizations. And that's what I love about this blend
in Chicago. Now we are turning to Akila Hayley, the
executive director for Marwin. Welcome to the show, Aquila.

Speaker 8 (19:46):
Thank you so much. Whitney. I'm delighted to be here
with you.

Speaker 6 (19:50):
Yeah, we are pumped because I actually learned about Marwin
a few months ago, and what I find shocking and
exciting is when I learn about a new nonprofit it
that has deep routs here in Chicago. But I'm just
learning about it, and I'm like, we got to get
you out to the massive because what you're doing for
our inner city youth is truly incredible. Tell us about

(20:11):
the mission of Marwin.

Speaker 8 (20:13):
Sure, thank you so much. Yes, Marwin's mission is to
inspire and educate young people to both nurture their growth
as well as build their futures through art and community.
And we do that by providing no cost visual arts
studio training through the form of courses and workshops, and
then we also do career development in the form of residencies, internships,

(20:37):
and commission programs, and then we also do some supportive
mentoring for those young people, and that's for six through
twelfth graders from all across the city of Chicago, prioritizing
those who experience financial barriers of access to arts education,
which is why our programming is free to them.

Speaker 6 (20:57):
I love that. And you know one thing I like.
I think about my career and getting into television, it
was really tapping into my artsy side when I was young.
And I think one thing that really sticks out to
me because I've been at your location is you're bringing
people from all corners of the city and saying you
get a chance and a seat at our table to

(21:18):
learn about art.

Speaker 8 (21:20):
Absolutely, I mean for us, a lot of what we
find is young people are meeting other young people from
all across the city that they may not have met otherwise.
But you know what they're uniting around their artistic practice,
their sense of creativity, their self expression, the work that
they're making together as well as on their own, and

(21:42):
then the past that they chart for themselves once they
leave Marlin and build these new relationships that they take
on with them into their later years in their lives.
And these are really lifelong bonds, yes, and.

Speaker 6 (21:56):
Lifelong self esteem is something because you're also so you
do things where you can sell the art, people can
have commission to pieces. Tell us a little bit more
about that.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
Sure.

Speaker 8 (22:07):
So we have a fantastic event that's coming up on Friday,
October seventeenth. It's our annual Art Fair. It's actually our
nineteenth year of this event and it happens only once
a year and it's an incredible community centered event where
you get to experience an exhibition that's across all three

(22:28):
floors of our building featuring more than four hundred works
of art by more than one hundred and fifty artists
from the entire Marwin community. That's the community of young people,
teaching artists, staff as well as alumni. And they have
the opportunity to not only exhibit, but sell their work
and they receive seventy five percent of the proceeds and

(22:52):
then the remaining proceeds comes back to Marwin to support
our programming. And for many young people it's the very
first time that they get chance to sell their work
and then they are now collected once they.

Speaker 6 (23:04):
Sell, Oh I love that. And you know most galories
they take fifty percent cuts, so that's amazing. They're getting
into the business and seeing it firsthand. And like you said,
now they have been commissioned. They have something of theirs
that was bought. So your location is right smack downtown.
Is this where the event's going to happen.

Speaker 8 (23:22):
Yes, it's right at eight thirty three North Orleans. That's
just a block and a half north of Chicago Avenue
and that is where the entire event takes place. People
can bid online as well, but there's nothing like the
vibrant energy that happens throughout the building.

Speaker 6 (23:39):
Oh, I love it. Okay again, tell people where they
can find out more info on this.

Speaker 8 (23:44):
So you can go to our website at marwe dot org.
That's m r w e n dot org. And then
you go to our Get involved and then you see
art Fair and on that Art Fair site you can
preview the world. You can purchase your tickets. We still
have advanced tickets available at fifty dollars and then ticket

(24:06):
prices at the door a sixty dollars. If you can't
make it and you'd love to support the work that
Marwin does, you can make a donation online and of
course preview and bid on the work, and we'd love
to see everyone here at Marwin on October seventeenth.

Speaker 6 (24:21):
I love it well, thank you so much, a key
love for coming on.

Speaker 8 (24:25):
Thank you so much, Whitney. Delighted to be here with you.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
Busy October Whitney, I mean between the show Whitney's Women
and your Whitney Rentalds show. You tell me before we
before we got on the air here that you're just
like so crazy with all of your interviews and everything
going on with you.

Speaker 6 (24:42):
Oh, it is that season. But you know when you
want to be the strongest voice of hope and be
that vessel not just for Chicago, but for the nation.
You know, there's a lot of going and doing and
talking hope all around. So I'm excited to say our
new season season launches on Monday. That's this Monday, guys,
save the date. It is going to be powerful, six

(25:05):
thirty pm. We're still airing first in our home market
on Lake Shore PBS, and then we hit in the
nation at the same time that Saturday. So next Saturday,
one week from today, you will see us around the
nation at the same time. We are on season ten.
Believe it or not, it still feels weird to say.
And this last weekend we have taped with a live audience,

(25:28):
so you'll see new new things with the show. But
it's deeply rooted still in our mission of hope, but
now we're able to do it on a different level.
So again, our new season hits this Monday. We want
to see you there. You can get more info on
Whitney Reynolds dot com.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
Hi, it's Paul Lina. This weekly show is on and
I am chatting with a friend of the show. We
have Anna Rodney here, founder of Chicago Family Doulas. How
are you.

Speaker 4 (25:53):
I'm great, Thanks so much for having me.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Thank you for being here. I'm so excited to chat
about your event. It is happening October eighteenth, and it
is Bump to Baby. Is that correct?

Speaker 4 (26:04):
It's correct.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
How exciting, So very exciting stuff happening. But before we
dive into it, do you mind telling us a little
bit about yourself and then of course about Chicago Family Dulas.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
Yes, absolutely, well, thanks again for having me. I am
the owner and founder of Chicago Family Dulas and Birth
and Baby University, and we are all about supporting families
from pregnancy to birth to postpartum with their newborn. And
we love hosting events as a way to bring a

(26:38):
sense of community to families but also make sure that
they have their people, that they have their community, and
that they have really great, accurate information so that they
can go into this phase of life with some confidence
hopefully and also joy.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
Yeah. Oh absolutely, I mean it's definitely an experience, right,
just becoming a mom in itself, right or having a family.
So this is a really cool, I think event that
you're doing. It's a curated event for expecting families and
it is happening on October eighteenth, and that is nine
am to one pm. And what can we expect at

(27:20):
the event? Who will be speaking? Right, who can we
expect to see and all that good stuff.

Speaker 4 (27:26):
Yeah, well, I'll be there and about fifteen of my
doulas will be there talking to families, talking to families
about doulas of course, and how we can support families,
but also about how to go through this journey in
the most positive and supported way. And then I'll be

(27:49):
speaking about having a positive birth and postpartum experience. We
have electation consultant talking about feeding and what to expect
with their baby and feeding, and of course that overlaps
with sleep. And then we have a sleep consultant there
talking about how to optimize sleep with your newborn and

(28:12):
what that can look like and feel like and setting
good routines. And then we have a paranatal therapist just
talking about how to best prepare for birth and postpartum
and if you have great supports in place, that it

(28:33):
usually goes a lot smoother. But then on top of
those speakers, there's actually all of our community, so many
of our vendors are there just talking to families. Like
it's not really a place where you would go and
buy baby gear necessarily, it's mostly about services, and we'll

(28:55):
have a chiropractor there and other like community support people,
public floor physical therapists, acupuncture, just different things that maybe
people don't realize they would utilize in their pregnancy and postpartum.
So really just like a space to build that paranatal community.

(29:19):
Then we have some fun things happening. We have bump
photo shoots, a flower bar, we have lots of food
and treats and cookies, and two docktail bars set up
so and get some non alcoholic beverages just really fun,

(29:42):
lots of opportunities for photo ops and connecting with you know,
paranatal professionals, but also hopefully other couples as well. We're
expecting about one hundred and fifty couples.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
There after the event. How can people still, you know,
be in contact with you, how can they work with you?

Speaker 4 (30:00):
Yeah, they can just email us at hello at Chicagofamilydoulas
dot com. Or they can find us on our website
which is just Chicago Familydoulas dot com. And we have
lots of great social media also, so you can find
us on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok so, lots of places YouTube.

(30:23):
We put out some informational videos on there. And then
back to the event. It's at Whirlly Bawl in Chicago,
So if you can find us there, amazing We'll all
be there to chat with you and scare resources. But
you can't make it to the event or you you know,

(30:43):
aren't quite pregnant yet, but maybe we'll be in the future.
Know that we are an amazing.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
Resource and I can second that, yes, that's absolutely true.
So once again, the event is happening Chicago Family Dula's
a Bump to baby A curated event for expecting families
that is happening on Saturday, October eighteenth, from nine am
to one pm. That is at Warlyball eighteen twenty five
West Webster Avenue in Chicago. And where can we get

(31:09):
tickets for that event?

Speaker 4 (31:10):
Yeah, on our website. It is on the main page
of our website. It says Bump to Baby tickets are
only twenty nine dollars for the couple, so it's very affordable.
And yeah, that comes with food all day long and
amazing drinks all day long, and of course amazing resources.

Speaker 1 (31:31):

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
