Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're on board the Nautical Ventures Weekly Fisherman Show with
legendary fisherman Eric Brandon, an extreme angler Joe Hector, powered
by Mercury Marine, Go boldly, Holy, Chilly willing.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Welcome to the Nautical Venters Weekly Fisherman Show, soon to
be in a year number nineteen. I might add, who
were on the patio of Steven J. Gray's palatial property
outside taking over for the team, because we never stopped
the show no matter what range sleep snow, dead of
night with over there, no guys.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Say cats, dogs getting together.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Dogs, aliens. Joe taking one for the team.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
That's hysteria.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
It's fifty degrees out all right, it's forty six of
my patio and I will go.

Speaker 5 (00:44):
You guys have a fire behind you, which you can
see on the Facebook page right now.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Come on, man, Thank you guys. Anyway, Hi to Jeff
and I forty five to that very warm studio. I
might add, thank you Jeff very much. Yeah, crazy about
Steven Jay Gray. You just looked at fire. Thank you brother.

Speaker 5 (00:59):
You're welcome. You guys are reading this morning man, Little
nippy out of here, and this is not mine inches
of snow like the rest of the Sunshine State.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Well, Steven's place is interesting.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
So Eric and I have known throughout the years of
doing this that his place gets colder as the day
goes on.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
It does next hour will colder this hour.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
So it'll go from fifty to like thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Now, I'll give you credit, Joe. Normally you let your
big tatas hang out. Okay, you've actually covered those things up,
but you're he's still barefoot though your side. Yeh, look
I got shoes. Oh you do? Okay, your double D
man bra is not showing today. So yeah, I got my.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Little soccer hat when I used to play.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
You got a weird look at face though, what happened to?
Oh my your lip hair is god? But you got
scruff around the sides of your face.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Well, like Wolha saved, I shaved my mustache because in
one day that's a mustache, but the rest of my
beard takes a couple.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
All right, Well, we'll talk about it your fascist statement
later on.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
So you brought it up.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
I know, I know, Hey, old history. This morning a
gentleman named Roger Moore, who's that bond? He is the
man who owns Nautical Ventures. Okay, Oh, and his story
is so cool about Satura. Many many moons ago, he
ran some very successful companies and sold them off, and
he and his wife decided in California, living there at
the time, that they're going to do something different. And

(02:16):
Roger goes, I like that sailboat, honey, Nancy likes it too.
So they sailed to a couple of ports in California
and she says, let's just keep going a little further. Okay,
they go down export whatever. Well, that story turned out
to be a thirteen year journey, forty four thousand mile
trip around the entire planet, thirteen years at sea. That's insane.

(02:37):
Then it said, one day, like Rememberend, Forrest Gump stopped running.
And then Roger goes, Okay, we've pretty much had it enough.
That's a good analogy. So he was a little bored.
He said to his friend Jeff Garcia at the time,
there's a little place for sale over here off ninety five.
Remember this place joke called oh Man whatever it was
called back then.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
The place Nautical Ventures, no ac.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
No ac, big fans, just a little wreak building. Right.
They bought it. It kicked off a company called Nautical Ventures, right,
and now ten eleven years later, they're doing great, and
eleven dude, maybe longer.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
If I've been doing extreme for sixteen, then they've they've
been doing it for like eighteen.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
So here's the deal. There's thousands and thousands and thousands
of boat dealers across how many of them Aerica? Thousands
and thousands and thousands, multi thousands, right, boat dealerships across
the country. Of course, every year the body getustry gets together,
and that's something called the top one hundred award, right,
So to crack the top one hundred is a great honor, right,
heck yeah, And they got into the fray a couple

(03:39):
of years ago, decided they were going to enter Nautical
Ventures into this whole thing. I mean, first year, maybe fifty,
cracked the top fifty, which is great. Yeah, and then
next year too it is top twenty. A year before
that we're talking about number ten. Last year you got
buffet the number five. This week at a beg gathering
in South Carolina, the Blue or whatever the case may be,

(04:02):
the Big haunchos may be announcement, Nautical Ventures was named
the number one dealership in the US, A number one,
I mean amongst all those thousands, showed number one. I mean,
that's an incredible achievement by the heartwork of the team
and Roger the whole gag man.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
But I'm I'm not surprised by that, you know what
I mean, Like they have such a good cores and
inner core of a team, you know, working with Frank,
who I've.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Called my Florida father for years.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
You know, knowing Roger, you know, the king of entrepreneurship,
who's shown me the way, shown me the light, taught
me a lot of stuff.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Hey, I just want to say one thing about Roger.
I fly over the place early in the morning before
the sun is up, doing my thing from the helicopter
for the news and traffic. That man's in his truck
there early in the morning and he's there all day
till everyone else is gone. It works hard, and so
does the rest of the crew there.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
And by the way, speaking of Frank, there's a six
hundred page, forty five pound report he has heard in
he works in I think like six months before he
puts it on the table. Anyway, so that has been gathering.
I have a chance to grab a little video the
awards there, Buddy, Okay, this is mister Roger Moore, very
humbly accepting that honor. Check it out.

Speaker 6 (05:15):
We have parted a little company called non Ale Ventures
that was selling Hobe Kids and Shobe Sale boats, thinking
this could be a synergistic thing for boat sales. Well,
lo and behold this crazy synergistic idea mushrooms, and it
has turned into what.

Speaker 7 (05:33):
It has today, which is.

Speaker 6 (05:36):
Many conglomerants specializing in all these fields of water supports toys,
yacht tenders, boats, sailing boats, and.

Speaker 7 (05:45):
Even to cruise ships as paper extent.

Speaker 6 (05:48):
So it is amazing to me to be standing before you,
because it's been not my dream to be standing here,
and it's beyond my expectation that we could ever build
something to this extent.

Speaker 7 (06:02):
And it is not me that built it.

Speaker 6 (06:04):
It's this team of people that you're looking at beside
me that have put tireless hours of energy, sacrifice parts
of their family and spending.

Speaker 8 (06:14):
So much time in building this company.

Speaker 6 (06:17):
And these are the people that I really appreciate and
are the team than the spirit of non Avengures, not
the least of which is a gentleman Frank Ferraro, who's
holding the trophy who build.

Speaker 7 (06:28):
That freaking lom not even do they read in the sties.

Speaker 9 (06:40):
And it is an incredible honor on a mumble pie,
the opportunity to stand here and address you, so thank
you for recognizing us, more importantly, to recognize this team.

Speaker 6 (06:51):
Thank you now, and David, thank you for all you've
known for us.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
There you go. He gave credit. He gave credit to
everybody but himself. That's the humble guy that he is.
Mana man. So I'll get congratulations to Inaugical Adventures number
one dealers. When you buy your boat, and this whole
thing is basically on customer service CSI, customer service whatever
that thing stands for, uh, based on customer service satisfaction,

(07:19):
number of boats sold, happy clients, blah blah blah, so
many variables, right yeah, yeah, So that's like the Super
Bowl Joey of Awards for the boat guys.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
You're only as good as your team, man, and you've got.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
A brand new coach. By the way, Pete Carroll, by
the way.

Speaker 5 (07:35):
Yeah, when I bought my boat, my motor, my Mercury
board from them, the customer service was incredible, but they
played a little joke on me. They're like, you know,
I was buying a little fifty from my little sixteen
foot pontoon. They go, your your two hundred merks is out.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
I'm like, well they have a sister humor also, oh
they do?

Speaker 5 (07:54):
Yeah it's great man, all.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Right, sower e phicient show. Shall we get on past
the great awards for dodgical ventures and ring on? Our
first captain is Weddy patiently for his joint do it?

Speaker 5 (08:02):
He's probably waiting, impatient.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
You want to bring him on as your normal singing
song self or just do a basic intro um? So
I just shot it by five minutes o' clock here, Yeah,
let's do it quick. All right.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
Hey Jimbo, how's it going? My name is Norm?

Speaker 10 (08:16):
Hey Norm? It's great. How are you other than being
super cold? It's all good.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
It's miserable. I'm not happy. That's sounds like that. Yeah, Jimbo,
would jet it? Last night? Struggle this week? The weather's
been brutally bad.

Speaker 10 (08:30):
Man.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
The flyer went out. Did you catch any fish, buddy
or what?

Speaker 10 (08:35):
Well, that's a really dumb question. Yeah, well another dumb question.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
That's a really dumb question.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
He doesn't give me any slack Joe at all. Man,
all right, what did you catch um? Jimbo put it
that way all right.

Speaker 10 (08:51):
So we were out yesterday and as everybody down here knows,
it's been polar weather.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Cold.

Speaker 10 (08:59):
This glow warming is killing us. And it's been a
little windy, and today seems a lot more windy. But
yesterday it wasn't rough, but it was fog banks. I
had to go back and relearn my fog signals because
you couldn't see anything till about noon when this the

(09:20):
fun didn't come up, but the fog broke or lifted
out in the deep water. It's been really tough. There's
been a few sales caught and a rare mahe but
very slim pickens for the most part. Few of us
that were out there yesterday. I heard a couple of
dolphins yesterday. The day before there was a few sales caught.

(09:42):
There were a couple of sales yesterday. I ended up
going up on the reef doing our mutton snaper trolling deal.
We ended up with the six muttons up to twelve pounds,
a couple ten pounders, seven pounders, so some nice fish
let go, black grouper, bearracuda, and we had a few

(10:03):
zero mackerels so we had a fairly nice catch yesterday
all things considered, because this cold weather, I don't know
what it is is got them not biting out in
the deep water. Especially there was no current out there,
so the conditions were not favorable either. That could be

(10:25):
changed today. Now they are catching a ton of sailfish
up north, like Jupiter area and Jupiter Palm Beach area north.
Those fish haven't started coming south yet, so when they do,
hopefully in the next few days, is whether it might
drive them down. But it's supposed to. At least we'll

(10:48):
start seeing more sail fishing along with the salefish. That's
when we get more action of other stuff too, because
when the sails are buying pretty much all the other
stuffs biting as well. We are waiting for those days.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
What's up at the rare mahi? What do you mean
by that? A big one caught?

Speaker 10 (11:07):
No, just very few of them, one here, one there?

Speaker 4 (11:10):
Oh oh you got me excited, okay for this?

Speaker 10 (11:13):
Uh yeah, they're they're rare. It's a rare catch these
days at this time of the year. It's not like
we catched lots of them anyways, but there's been probably
few fewer of them the last few days. Again this
cold weather maybe's drove them down deep. Although the surface
temperature yesterday was seventy two seventy three degrees, which is cold,

(11:39):
but it's not super cold. But obviously it was colder
than they like. So who knows where they went right,
but supposed to start warm enough, I hope so, because
again I've had enough this. You know, my igloo, my
igloo is not that warm lately.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
Yeah, so the bottom sorry you kind of.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
So the bottom fishing, though, has been pretty.

Speaker 10 (12:03):
Good up so I got those fish up in twenty
five to thirty feet of water up on top of
the ref. I did drop on a number of wrecks
that I typically do well on yesterday not a bite.
Oh wow, so you know, so we we uh we
live baited yesterday on the edge, no bite. I went

(12:24):
out to that the Miami Hump, the Government cut hump,
whatever you want to call it. They there have been
some black pin tunas out there, or typically there's black
pin tunas out there. I went out there, put some
live bates out, nothing, went and dropped on three or
four recks, nothing, and I said, well, we got to
switch it up here find the fish. So that's when

(12:46):
we went up on the reason. We ended up having
a nice ketch of of snappers up there, but no breaking.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Those monstrous age as you were bagging your chest about
for three weekends in a row.

Speaker 10 (12:58):
I would have loved to have caught a few of those.
Yesterday I actually dropped on some of these wrecks that
I catch amberjacks and snappers and other species and not
a byte gee. So they they have disappeared as well
for the moment. Now maybe they're at another wreck I

(13:18):
didn't go to, but that I'll have to determine that
in the next few days when I get back out there.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Well, Jimbo, since there's only mutton snapper left here, what
was the tactic you used to get them?

Speaker 2 (13:34):
You were slow.

Speaker 10 (13:36):
Trolling? Yeah, yep, slow trolling with a long fifty pounds leader,
a number one planer, and we're rigging our balley. Who
so it's uh, it's swims. You don't want it to
be spinning, and we're letting our planer out. I mean
we're probably letting out one hundred feet a line, and
then we've got a seventy five or one hundred foot

(13:58):
leader behind the planer. If you let too much out
and you go over the top of the reef, there's
a good chance you're going to snag the reef and
the hang bottom. So through trial and air, we know
how much line to let out for how deeple water
we're at, and also we steer around the shallow spots.

(14:19):
So if you're on the what we call the patch reefs,
we're not trolling over the top of the reef, We're
trolling around the outskirts of the reef. If I'm going
down the main reef, the outside reef, I'm trolling down
either the inside or the outside edge of that reef,
not over the very top of the reef.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Because thanks it is now everybody can go catch month snappers.
You always ask that last stinger question that Jimi has
to elaborate on and it goes for ten minutes. Listen, it.

Speaker 10 (14:52):
Was I just wish the well it was the only
fish that we've had the last well yesterday, for sure,
Yeah they could. Who does. Maybe those sales are banking today,
Maybe the King's a bank today. You know, I'm not
going out because I don't have any clients.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
No, you're being a man. You're staying in bed, and
you just called jimbo a wood a baby.

Speaker 10 (15:17):
Wait a minute, are you guys? Are you guys broadcasting outsider?

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Did you move in a patio? Man? It's thirty five
degree weather out here. What are you talking about? I know, and.

Speaker 10 (15:27):
It's blowing and they got a big ass fireplace like it.

Speaker 5 (15:32):
It looks likes are coming out of Eric's.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
I knew my ass is warm. Man. It's great, man, Jeff,
this nasty stuff. On the next weekend, you're probably out
of range or not out of town or whatever.

Speaker 10 (15:45):
Next weekend, I'm going to be in Flamingo over in
Everglades National Park and my phone does not work there.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
All right, Well we'll fight some small shoes to fill
your feet feet to fill your shoes.

Speaker 10 (15:56):

Speaker 2 (15:56):

not stopped itself? From that? I blocked out what happened?
You just had some kind of moment, dude, It was embarrassing.
Yet what happened it was bad, you know, some single

(21:14):
long rock. Then I don't know what happened Allan's or
bass guy. When I fished yesterday, the probably the worst
day of the week, Joey. Probably that misty stuff was
in the air. Yeah, and by the way, on my lake,
by the way, I got steam coming off the top,
which tells me the cold weather's hitting the warmer water
and now the water's chilling off. And I worried about
a peacock bass croaking here. Have you seen any? Not yet? No,

(21:35):
have you seen peacocks? I have not seen them either. No,
So we'll see if Allen's seen the few this week
show big al good more than buddy.

Speaker 26 (21:44):
Well, it's cold, man, It is just cold out look
at it. It's showing forty four degrees in Hollywood here
and with a windshow of thirty eight.

Speaker 27 (21:56):
And what the heck is this? I mean, raise, I
gotta moved out.

Speaker 26 (21:59):
Yeah, and yeah, Unfortunately there was steam coming off the
water fishing in Miami yesterday. I even went down towards
South Miami yesterday and fish and it was it was tough.

Speaker 27 (22:10):
It was.

Speaker 26 (22:10):
It was We didn't catch some fish, but but it
wasn't easy and they were definitely uh I guess you
could say it best randomly caught. It was one here,
one there, had to cover a lot of water.

Speaker 27 (22:23):
I even brought along some live bait and guess what.
The live bait didn't work?

Speaker 2 (22:28):
One fish, Yeah, didn't work.

Speaker 26 (22:32):
Everything was caught on my on the bagno bea jerk
baits and some extraps which proceeded to break on me
really easy, which I wasn't too happy about. The pretty
expensive these days, so I think I'll stick with my
bagly mento bees as long as I have them.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
All The name jerk baits definitely belongs in your boat.
That's pretty impressive.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
Yeah, oh boy, oh here we go.

Speaker 26 (22:53):
I was I was being I was being very nice.

Speaker 27 (22:57):
I know, criminal baits.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
Fit on your butt very well.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Dude, Alan was being like like normal, and then you
just jumped in there.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
And now now it's like lighting a fire.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
You just you just gave him a smart I couldn't
stop myself here we go. Sorry, Joe, I screwed.

Speaker 26 (23:15):
If I wasn't so cold, sitting here right now, drinking
my coffee, listening to your show, which it's I don't
know what kind of show you're gonna have today.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Take a shot at the show out show that he
used to be on. Take a ship, take a shot
at the show. Won't be back next weekend. So anyway
back to you, buddy, because it shows about you. Man.
How in these house the arm are you holding up
out their fishermen? Actually no, that's that's that's sore.

Speaker 26 (23:45):
But you know, I'm plugging away, grinding it out, trying

have to rewind that from your play.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
Race that later on. Let's you on my leafe with you?
What's wrong with you Todayee? Man? Let's talk to waite
Cod the Reward fishing Fleet dogs. No matter way, the
guy runs these iron Man tournaments on his boat. Man Man,
hardcore guys go fishing for twelve hours a day. Unreal.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
Getting the kids involved, the kids.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Involved, conservation, name it yeah, man, Wayne con Good morning.

Speaker 36 (30:39):
Buddy, Hey guys, good morning, good morning. I think you
sound like you're.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
A home warm, like somewhere in the living room talking
to us.

Speaker 16 (30:47):
Man.

Speaker 36 (30:48):
You know what, I just put a brand new AC
in the house a while ago, and I didn't know
if the heater worked. It was one of those It
was one of those clutch moments there ago because I
hope this thing turns on you know.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
I guess right. It turned on ice.

Speaker 36 (31:00):
Yeah, I mean I'd be fishing except by my ice.
My ice auger broke. So you know, I got to
stay home today. So no cutting holes in the ice
for me today.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
So I hear more excuses.

Speaker 37 (31:13):
Yeah, question eric hole snuggle when yes, way.

Speaker 36 (31:20):
I got asked, then n or something. But when's this
global warming supposed to start? That's all I want to know.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
That's the wrong guy. Joy is the theorious theorist.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
The theory is.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
The theory global Yeah, you need to stop watching.

Speaker 27 (31:36):
Yeah, well yeah, sometimes the TV jumps, you know, did the.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Way did the fleet catch fish man, what's going on?

Speaker 27 (31:44):
Of course, I mean you can't help.

Speaker 36 (31:45):
But when you go fishing almost every day, you got
to catch something sometimes.

Speaker 27 (31:49):
So little muttons, little muttons were still.

Speaker 36 (31:52):
Catching, you know, Spanish mackerel hanging around, occasional sailfish.

Speaker 27 (31:56):
They're still good. The weather, you know, the weather.

Speaker 10 (31:59):
You know.

Speaker 36 (31:59):
We're way kinder to the folks than we used to be.
You know, twenty years ago, whoever showed up, we just say, yeah,
it's bumpy, and then we just go, you know, and
then just deal with it every trip. But things have
changed a lot, and we're a lot really got to be,
got to be upfront.

Speaker 10 (32:14):
I can't.

Speaker 36 (32:14):
I pretty much have always been when I've owned the boats.
I know, when I was a captain working for other owners,
we wouldn't say anything.

Speaker 27 (32:21):
And that's that's pretty you know.

Speaker 36 (32:23):
Folks would stand there at the dock and look out
and go, oh, this looks great, you know. I mean,
the trees are sideways, but they don't get it until
they get in the ocean.

Speaker 27 (32:30):
Then they get it.

Speaker 36 (32:32):
And truthfully, since the social media and the and the
fact that people can really can really voice their complaints,
which is all you hear anymore about everything. But the
point is you got to be really sensitive to it.
And it makes sense. You know, folks come down here
on vacation and they want to take their kids out
or something and they don't want to get their butts beed.
So so today we got two bay trips today. But

(32:53):
we've got some folks that are they they're doing kids'
birthday trips and we put twenty thirty forty kids on
a boat with their parents. They have a bo We
take them into bay. We catch two three hundred grunts
and little snappers, and we teach them how I showed
you that one video, teach them how to catch and
release and how to do it, and we give them
little books. The state gives me cool little books the
kids can have. So it makes a great experience. And

(33:15):
somebody's got to start kids fishing.

Speaker 27 (33:16):
I don't know who does. I really don't know when
you think about it.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
To be called dad the day, yeah, well, you know,
I'm a.

Speaker 36 (33:25):
Fisherman and maybe sometimes a little more than that. But
I'm not a grant writer. And every time I've tried
to write grants, it doesn't seem to work for me
so well. But I've had had them say to me, well,
you give them a great experience, but what do.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
You do after that?

Speaker 27 (33:36):
That's what I say. I say, I'm not their parent.
Come on, you know what else do you want?

Speaker 11 (33:42):
You know?

Speaker 36 (33:42):
I mean, I take them out, you wet their lips
a little bit and say, hey man, this is cool
or it isn't cool, you know, but at least have
an idea what it's like. So it's it's it's important
to me way more.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
Now.

Speaker 36 (33:53):
I've always enjoyed, you know, bringing folks into it. But anyway,
that's what we're doing today. We're bayfishing. I'll tell you
there's a lot of fish in debate now. Temperature drops.
You can talk to Jimbo and all that about mutt
snapper fishing and shallow water and back in there and
fishing the finger channels and stilts fill and all that stuff.
You know, there's a lot of fish now you know
that are up in the shallows. But when the cool

(34:14):
temps hit, that's what it happens. You get down below
falley lights sometimes in a value up on that inside
wreath there's a button. Snappers, black groupers, jacks, everything, busting
them up.

Speaker 27 (34:23):
Sailfish.

Speaker 36 (34:24):
You just gotta you know, it's racing and chasing, but
it's it's it's a distinct possibility if you got the
right boat.

Speaker 38 (34:29):
Man.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
I don't know, Joe. I can't of fathom what Wayne
Conn's experience in its fifty five years plus of fishing.
I mean, he's a lot. Going back in the day,
when we get a school of dolphin around, it'd be
like nine miles wide, just full of fish every Yeah,
and you can take all you wanted, and there were
everyone was a gaffer. Yeah. Fact that I was fishing
back in Wayne's day, what kind of I was just
gonna say, you were out there right kind of the

(34:51):
same sort of the same age. But he's seen it all, man,
he's done it all. He's that some great history behind him.

Speaker 11 (34:57):
Man.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
So is it true that like the mahi back then,
like a school, a normal school of.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
Mahi was like twenty pounds? Is that is that true? No?

Speaker 27 (35:07):
Not necessarily.

Speaker 36 (35:08):
When I twenty thirty years ago, well many years I've
done I run off and on summertime on the party boat,
stunt dolphin trips, because how can the average guy go
dolphin fishing?

Speaker 27 (35:18):
How do they do that?

Speaker 16 (35:18):
Now?

Speaker 27 (35:19):
If you've got a thirty foot boat. It's Great's what's
the cost involved?

Speaker 36 (35:22):
So you know, if you're on a party fishing boat,
now we're charging sixty seventy bucks. You know, I put
twenty guys on the boat. My butt's covered. But I've
got to spend all day off shore looking. And the
trips we've run, you know, the last few summers, we
hit them sometimes, but you may look for four or
five hours without a sniff, and you got to find
the best thing, of course, is nothing better than finding
a floaters, you know, something floating on.

Speaker 27 (35:43):
The surface that will attract these fish.

Speaker 36 (35:45):
So I don't know what the scientists are saying the
reasoning behind the shortage of dolphin because they grow so fast.
It's it's like, you can't I don't think you can
blame fishermen in any way, shape or form.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
Joseph theory.

Speaker 27 (35:57):
I don't think. Okay, all right, he.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
Clears the the aliens have actually woken up off the
boot are you talking about And he says, yeah, maybe
they're maybe they're servant their spaceships and all that radioactive
stuff off the spaceship has caused my head to get confused.
It's radiation. Radiation they scattered of the parts of the planet.
I want what he's smoking. Joe's theory?

Speaker 4 (36:19):
What are you on this?

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Read your book man, Yeah, you read it. Yeah, it
was great. One page. It was one page, which is coloring.
It was all pictures.

Speaker 27 (36:27):
Number a lot of credits, but a lot of the
pages of credits. Ten pages of credits.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Back on your boat, man, So talk about taking folks
at fishing for a day. It's like seventy five bucks.
You get to use your rock, you reel your tackle,
live ba Miami.

Speaker 27 (36:43):
Yeah, yeah, lou lousy jokes. We provide everything, you know, so.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
Shure, there's shows a s that says no cuss words
allowed on the reward.

Speaker 27 (36:53):
Yeah, comes from the you would not have that book.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Because might lose a fish.

Speaker 28 (36:58):
Man.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
The f bombs go fly like.

Speaker 36 (37:00):
Listen, listen forever forever I've had bucks. Tell me you're
the You guys are the exception on this kind of business.
But we have been forever. So you know, you you
hold your head high. You work a certain way, and
you ask you you think about what the people would like,
and that's what you try to provide and do the
best you can. Wait the carts fall, man, Wait, when
did you start the birthdays for the kids doing them.

Speaker 27 (37:23):
I've been doing them forever.

Speaker 36 (37:24):
I gotta I probably got to post a little more.
You know on Facebook, we guys called kids Let's go fishing.
You're gonna see tons of videos. I see it one
Derek this morning.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
Uh.

Speaker 36 (37:31):
You know, we as as we as we take these
groups out. I mean it's a whot. I mean, what
else can where else can you go with your kids friends?
You got to rent a pavilion. Wait a second, you
got to show.

Speaker 27 (37:43):
Up at the park or you know what I mean.
It becomes tedious. Take the boat and I don't care
if they're six years old.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
You're going at your hand show and they're game boys whatever,
What the hell they're playing game Boy, the gable whatever
they're playing these days.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
What we had game boys was when I was a kid.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
Okay, what are they playing now?

Speaker 17 (38:07):
Man?

Speaker 4 (38:07):
They're under tablets?

Speaker 2 (38:08):
Tablet okay whatever, Get the tablets out of their hands.
You put a rod in the air and the kids do
something productive, make them.

Speaker 36 (38:17):
Yeah, of course, give me a call. Man, You got
no idea. And the truth is until you stand back
and let your child do something.

Speaker 10 (38:24):
Uh.

Speaker 36 (38:24):
Yes, nowadays, what I see when when we do the
family things. We're gonna be posting some stuff. We're gonna
open up trips, just say hey, bring your kids. But
the point is when families and show up, you'll see
moms trying to do.

Speaker 27 (38:36):
Everything for the kid. It's like, hey, leave them alone, man,
let them screw up.

Speaker 36 (38:39):
Let them let them tangle it up, let them tangle
them up, let them untangle, let them drop it.

Speaker 27 (38:43):
Let them swing the fish in the boat, yell and scream,
take a picture. You'll never forget it.

Speaker 10 (38:47):
Never.

Speaker 27 (38:48):
You never forget your first fish. You only catch them once.
So than.

Speaker 36 (38:53):
Have a great weekend, fleet reward, fishing fleet Facebook, hit
us up, gang, let's.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
Go, you gotta baby, Thanks very much. Yeah, man, who
the hell would be out of the sea anytime this
last week? Your buddy, You think Jim actually put on
and went down below the sea and that cool weather.

Speaker 37 (39:15):
You're like con to Jim Kirk gone gone, Jim, chief man,
and brave the waters this week, buddy, or you stay dry.

Speaker 39 (39:26):
You know what I cannot I cannot tell all, lie buddy,
it was so freaking cold.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
Buddy, you wow, you.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
Really well.

Speaker 39 (39:43):
I can tell you that I have had the buddies
that have been out and and.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
Braved the cold.

Speaker 39 (39:49):
I mean, my buddy yesterday Albert Sloan had had U
had his dad, and the old people, Richie the great one,
were out there and I'll tell you what they had.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Sea smoke.

Speaker 39 (40:05):
You know what that is? Sea smoke?

Speaker 2 (40:06):
Yeah, I had down my leg. It said, Miss Mystic
comes off the top of the water.

Speaker 39 (40:11):
Why is that? Why is that?

Speaker 10 (40:13):
Eric?

Speaker 39 (40:13):
Why is that?

Speaker 2 (40:14):
Because the cold air is meeting the warmer water and
the reaction happens there.

Speaker 10 (40:18):
There you go, there you go.

Speaker 39 (40:20):
So the water temperature is like seventy three, seventy four,
still chilly on the Willie, Okay, yeah, when you're compuncted
with forty fifties. Oh man, it gets chilly.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
Yeah. Not good. Not a very great day to be
in a wetsuit when your package is definitely inverted.

Speaker 40 (40:42):
So you realize, you get why they call it a
wet suit is that the water actually gets in between
your skin and the New York preme and that's what
actually calls is you get warm.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
Yeah, well you're also what suit too. John was kind
of say that, Eric, I mean, we've all done natal
and my what suit and get all warmed up. I'm
not afraid to admit that. Number two, it's a feeling. Yeah,
number tay they do. That's fine.

Speaker 39 (41:19):
What's called eric So a dry suit actually blocks the
you know, colder water and air from getting inside. Now
you got to be especially trained for that because it
kind of keeps your points up. But still, you know,
you see that up north a lot, but but down

(41:40):
down here very rarely.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
I'll tell you.

Speaker 39 (41:44):
The conditions, though, have been good. Uh my report from
Albert was it good. Was good as far as visibility
was good. The current uh in close, we're a little screwy. Well,
you got this urge, you know, coming to the big
old surfer dudes. When the surfer dudes are surfing. That's

(42:06):
not a good thing. Usually come out the endlet wow, wowny.
But but well, listen, the lasters are still shallow.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
I'm sure spirit fishes hold.

Speaker 39 (42:22):
Last weekend, last weekend, I was at the Pampa Nautical
Flea Market and it was beautiful Saturday Sunday, and I
wait a lot of people. Uh for me, Saturday was
a banner day.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
I know what you did. I know what you did.
All those great things you find diving anchors and rods
and reels of the things watching.

Speaker 5 (42:41):
Oh he had a flea market.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
You shadow all nice? Are pretty? Take them to the
market and you probably.

Speaker 39 (42:49):
It was good.

Speaker 5 (42:50):
And you know how much money did you make? Chiv,
how much money did you make?

Speaker 2 (42:54):
TV?

Speaker 39 (42:55):
Stop by get pictures with you know, the adult beverage.

Speaker 10 (43:01):
I tell you it was nice.

Speaker 2 (43:03):
He won't tell you.

Speaker 39 (43:05):
Boys, they were really really nice.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
Hey, Jim, how much you make?

Speaker 10 (43:09):
Man?

Speaker 2 (43:09):
We want to know how much you make? How many
billions you make out? There a couple of billions?

Speaker 39 (43:13):
No, no, it was in the hundreds. It was in
the hundreds.

Speaker 10 (43:18):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (43:19):
Nice job on fire, Thank you, buddy. Hey, Joe, by the.

Speaker 5 (43:22):
Way, there's a metal thing so you don't have to
burn your hands off. Yeah, like, don't like that, zimmrod
on fire?

Speaker 2 (43:28):
Please?

Speaker 5 (43:29):
That doesn't look rather looks.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
Nice rather us be burned. But said, okay, thank you.

Speaker 39 (43:35):
I think things are going to improve.

Speaker 10 (43:39):
Coming.

Speaker 39 (43:41):
I hopefully we'll be able to get out a couple
of times. I mean the week before I was out
three three times. It was great, really good. So I mean,
but but I'm being honest. It's too cold, too cold?

Speaker 2 (43:56):
What did you do?

Speaker 10 (43:56):
Eric?

Speaker 2 (43:57):
All right, well, Jim, stay dry man, stay warm. We
love in the program, your funnest he can be, and
we do love to hear about you catch all those bugs.

Speaker 39 (44:04):
Yeah, but I am definitely into a.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
Yeah, brain holes, we know, but you got you escape

Speaker 5 (51:36):
Go Boldly, Well.

Speaker 2 (51:39):
Nobody won the starbright bucket. Dude, that question is I'm
gonna dubt the question to go to number three?

Speaker 5 (51:45):
Well, in the minute I thought somebody answered the question.

Speaker 2 (51:47):
They did, but he didn't call a She's one before.
He can't want to answer anyway eight six six, eight
oh one zero nine forty be called number three when
it's fabulous, louted bucket of starbright goodies right now.

Speaker 5 (52:02):
That stuff in the world to clean your boat.

Speaker 2 (52:06):
Yeast. So we took bets. Guys, was shot rolls on
the water right now? I said absolutely no, Steve bo
said no no, and Joe said yeses. Captain John, good morning.

Speaker 10 (52:24):
What's up?

Speaker 38 (52:24):
Guys?

Speaker 10 (52:25):
Good morning?

Speaker 2 (52:26):
You are not on the water.

Speaker 10 (52:30):
I'm on the couch.

Speaker 2 (52:32):
No, let's give him credit to being the smart guy
who in the hell in his right mind to be
a yeah, crazy or a boat right now at forty
one degrees or whatever the hell of it is.

Speaker 10 (52:44):
So, so I was out yesterday.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
Okay, that's nastiest.

Speaker 28 (52:50):
Yeah, it was the same as today. But I when
I got this morning to go out today. But the
wind picked up just a little bit more and the
swell is a little bit bigger, and the inlet was
kind of borderline for me yesterday, so I did not
want to risk it today. It's kind of making one
of those hard to make captain choices, and decided to
stay home.

Speaker 2 (53:10):
He stayed home to protect the family and keep them warm,
and you know, not have missus rolls Bey a widow
or at a young age, so of course smart move there. Yeah,
what did you see this week? And I'll show you
have more than one day on the water man. Anything
biting this week?

Speaker 10 (53:27):
I did. I went beats fishing yesterday and then came in.

Speaker 28 (53:29):
After that because as you said, it is cold. Uh,
but the sailfish bite had kicked off. Man like like epic,
I get to the other year tournament yesterday.

Speaker 2 (53:40):
I think let me make a point real quick. I've
been right now for the last two years about the
fact that every tournament he ran, his Salfish tournament, it
was the coldest damn thing on the planet.

Speaker 4 (53:54):
Always, always on the coldest day, and.

Speaker 2 (53:56):
Today would have been your day, selfish SmackDown right, yeah,
and those poor guys would have been offshore, freezing their
asses off to go try to catch a sailfish in
this weather. Yeah. So that call you made to nail
it and nuke it was probably lost.

Speaker 3 (54:11):
The wind finder was saying the wind was going to
be like twenty five miles an hour.

Speaker 2 (54:15):
Crazy, right, I don't.

Speaker 4 (54:16):
Think it's that bad out there.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
So shot of the Joe made a good job on
pulling that one and props to Joey for a great
insight and foresight. Ad.

Speaker 3 (54:24):
It's all about the summer slant. Yeah and the exotic.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
There you go, well shot, So you said maybe a
fish or chew this week? Nothing great out of all
of our captains have talked about the fact it's been
a really dead week as far as fishing. Nobod's had
a bagging great day. Wait, let him finish what he
was saying. What was he saying?

Speaker 4 (54:40):
You don't even remember.

Speaker 2 (54:41):
I had park shelfish sailfish selfish? Okay, go back on
the stow. The shellfish fight kick Judges reminded me. Shellfish
fight kicked off yesterday in some tournaments. I think one
boat got a forty releases if I'm not mistaken, forty
wow damn zero?

Speaker 28 (54:58):
Yeah okay, so yeah, help the sailfshiers. They did kick off.
But who wants to be out there and this unless
you have to? And I'm glad I don't have to today.
Thank you, Joe.

Speaker 2 (55:10):
You're welcome. All right, So what's your opinion? Shot? After this,
Culfrin comes to I's not gonna do him back off
last night, he claims a selfish bite. He's going to
be insanely crazy. After this front kind of like dies
that a little bit, right. Have you seen that same
thing shot after the culprint goes through. The sailfish just
get fired up or during the cold front or what.

Speaker 10 (55:29):
They're fired up right now? So I don't know if
it's really going to get any better than it is.
I mean, it was just in seeing yesterday, so we'll see.
I mean, it's it's going to end what tomorrow?

Speaker 2 (55:43):
Now? Do you do a lot of luck? A lot
of guys do during the time when they can't fish.
You go back and like maintain some of your rods,
are reels, tie on some new lures, red spoil your
your reels, meeting with new line. You do some of
the stuff behind the scenes.

Speaker 28 (55:56):
I have a Starbright Saturday man clean the boat.

Speaker 2 (55:59):
Oh, talk about that. He just mentioned a great sponsor,
Starbright Saturday. He busts out, what's your favorite product of
star Bright? What do you use? Oh?

Speaker 10 (56:10):
I gotta say my two favorites are the mold and
mildew spray cleaner and the rush remover. There we go magic.

Speaker 28 (56:18):
They make magic happen.

Speaker 2 (56:20):
Man who practices what he preaches, he's got star Bright
and Starbrights's his boat on a Saturday.

Speaker 3 (56:25):
And and for people that maybe have a little extra
laying around. If those sprinklers are hitting your car and
they got that that iron h rust on them, Yeah,
that iron rust on him. Starbright will get that off
your car.

Speaker 2 (56:39):
Of our one of our captures discovered, was that Sean
that didn't found that out on Johnny? Was it Johnny? Johnny? Yeah, Johnny,
that's right.

Speaker 4 (56:48):
Yeah, which is interesting.

Speaker 10 (56:49):
We live the same neighborhood with the same dirty water.

Speaker 5 (56:51):
So right, that's the well water.

Speaker 2 (56:55):
So Star right now is known for taking off rust
off your house and your car. Yeah. Man, about that, man,
that's awesome. Take a little rust off my career would
be great anyway. So Sean, hope you enjoy yourself. Man,
wait real quick, real quick, go Joe Shot anything else?

Speaker 3 (57:10):
Any kings, Wahoo mahi in Pompton.

Speaker 28 (57:16):
Nothing local? Okay, crazy fish but all up north.

Speaker 2 (57:20):
Wow. Finally an answer to Joe hecker questions to go
on for like nine minutes. That was amazing. Shot. Give
it right to the point, man, to the point. He
knows that we're I'm watching the clock. Okay, of course
he's giving us. Oh, he knows I'm on a clock
watch here, and I appreciate the fact he was brief.
Get right to the point. Okay, So Sean, thank you
so much. Bett. Having a great weekend, buddy, fight something

(57:41):
to do. Start bright your boat, have fun with that,
and uh we'll chat again soon. But okay, see you Sean.

Speaker 10 (57:47):
All right, sounds good.

Speaker 2 (57:48):
Guys. See, speaking of star Bright, nobody's won the bucket yet.
You want this bucket? Audience yesterday, I'm offering you.

Speaker 4 (57:54):
Why don't you give him another question?

Speaker 2 (57:55):

buck along with uncle mentions in my dad, a Starbright

a little slap back throwing that thing back of the board. Anyway,
So you said trying to stay warm offshore, anybody caught
a fish or two or ten or what?

Speaker 11 (01:07:18):
Yeah, trying to stay warm has been the goal. Catching
fish has been Uh, it's been a little tough. Sailfish
have been the hot topic though. When you get these cool,
cool waters and north winds kind of has the fish
passing by a.

Speaker 2 (01:07:31):
Little more than usual.

Speaker 11 (01:07:32):
Yeah, so we've been seeing a few numbers on those.
Picking up meat though, has been tough. It's been a grind.
I mean, you could try a few different things right
now and nothing can work, or you can try a
few things and everything could work.

Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
At these cool days. Benny, do you recommend your clients
actually wear fishing gloves because they don't make those six
fishing gloves? Joe, you suggested put gloves on their hands
and fish. Is that kind of a cool thing to have,
and to keep yourself.

Speaker 11 (01:07:56):
On warmer gloves handwarmers.

Speaker 2 (01:07:58):
We kind of had to do whatever we could out there, gotcha, Okay,
So worthy appropriate clothing and go out. There were some
hand warmers.

Speaker 3 (01:08:05):
Joe yep uh, the windbreakers on your boat.

Speaker 2 (01:08:09):
Build a fire, Betty, because you would have no boats
left at Benny's Fishing charters. They would go up with flames. Okay,
he just put a fire together about fifteen minutes ago.

Speaker 5 (01:08:17):
We had to call him almost a fire department man.

Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
Let Stevens take Gray's roof on fire.

Speaker 4 (01:08:21):
Dude, I put a couple of little sticks and one
of these, Eric, But you.

Speaker 5 (01:08:25):
Don't need to put the incendiary devices in the wood.

Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
I didn't think these little time bombs.

Speaker 5 (01:08:30):
You know, you'd throw them in there and it'd be
like he obviously doesn't know how to lay the wood properly.

Speaker 2 (01:08:34):
And yeah, oh does not Laylor wood properly? That to you,
I'm saying it to you. No, I don't have any
would to lay, So it only be the guy's actually
getting something. Will be probably you anyway, Betty. So the
boat's out today, are they, Doctor White? Yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:08:51):
Captain Tyler's at the dock right now. He's about to
take a guy out from California. Apparently the guy was
on Cali time. He's running a little behind right now,
so we're trying to get them off the dock. See
what they could catch today. Hopefully get that guy some dinner,
maybe a nice trophy salefish for him.

Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
Were now organized. People from California are so jeez, might
show up eventually. But anyway, Betty, we've heard the word
that this cold front is going to be bringing sailfish
like crazy. You should be just chopping at the bit man.
You think that's the truth. Yeah, oh yeah, that was short.
That's the hot topic right now for sybody hears weird.

Speaker 11 (01:09:28):
Yeah, I'm on a delay and hearing myself double.

Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
It's tough. That's like being at you. Ever been in
a stadium, John, ever been in a microphone? I've done
this before, back in my radio days. Uh, you hear
the slap back you're talking the stadium and it kind
of comes back at you. It throws your way off.
So I'm like trying to ignore it. Is this effects
that you would just put out right now? Right? It's
weird what he does that though, with you especially, Yeah,

(01:09:50):
you're actually get a man's voice. Even Benny's laughing. He
gives you a han's voice.

Speaker 11 (01:10:00):
Joey puts about time we get a manly voice on
this show.

Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
Yeah, I agree, Okay, your voice, little bit, my voices
is a mediocrely deep It's not like high range girl. Ash.
Yeah anyway, what anyway, Betty, wish you well. Man, have
a great weekend at Betty's fishing charters. To get on
board on a really nice day, maybe not so much
these snappy days. Call you a Facebook live. What are

(01:10:26):
we going to find you with?

Speaker 10 (01:10:27):
Man?

Speaker 11 (01:10:28):
Yeah, any of the above, give us a call directly?
Is that was the best option? Nine to five four
seven zero six six fives six fives the direct number,
And yeah, we can get you out now, but if
you wait another couple of weeks, it could warm up
as the weather.

Speaker 2 (01:10:42):
And the bit hopefully. You know, it's just really cold.
And you know, Eric saying that I have this high
pitched curly voice is not cool, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (01:10:58):
Just because I work for Sam in the off season
and I have twenty years does that mean.

Speaker 2 (01:11:06):
Okay, wow, how pitched curly boys. Okay, it's all the
steroids you've done over your life, Joe, It's finally got you, buddy. Okay,
thank you. Your testicles are falling off and are totally
a woman, but anyway, I appreciate that.

Speaker 3 (01:11:25):
Listen, Kay, by the way, your wigs is loose and
did it catch fire yet?

Speaker 2 (01:11:29):
And Katelyn, I love your outfit. Okays anyway, Betty, thank
you buddy. It'll take a little break and find out
what's happening more around this planet. Okay. So anyway, hang on,
we're a frozen ice pop but we're getting throw it
together and thanks for hanging with us. By the way,

Speaker 9 (01:16:39):
To the Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:16:41):
No, yeah, because it's a really cold cold day.

Speaker 2 (01:16:48):
It is a cold living day. Yeah. I said, he's
a oh carry, I'd say you. Steven J. Gray has

(01:17:14):
brought out every possible effect he care today man, which
has been great man. The songs have been on point
spot and your little voice changer was a natural thing.
That wasn't even a sound effect. That's basically your voice.
We're going back and forth. Let's go to time the
Captain Norm Beckoff, he and I chatted last night. He
mentioned there was a four hundred sailfish Caughton Broward. I

(01:17:36):
believe something like that. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
Tell the story, Norm, you want to buddy, Hey, Norm,
how's it going?

Speaker 2 (01:17:43):
Neil God.

Speaker 5 (01:17:45):
Recked him?

Speaker 2 (01:17:46):
Neil God, he goes this way back. A guy named
Neil Rodgers. Back in the day, Joe was the number
one listen to guy at South Florida. He was quite
the controversial dude when was his sixties. He was no
man a seventies, eighties whatever, but he was a real snap,
be uh, take no prisoner kind of guy. He called
everybody out man anyway back to Norm. So, Norm, we're

(01:18:06):
out here on Steven Jack Grace set freezing our asses
off here, and you said, this cold front is gonna
be getting no selfish fired up.

Speaker 27 (01:18:14):
Huh man, they're already fired up.

Speaker 2 (01:18:17):
Let me tell you what.

Speaker 51 (01:18:18):
We have the most absolutely perfect conditions to go out
there and catch selfish today and h yesterday, there was
a tournament up in Palm Beach where it's reported that
there were about four hundred fish caught.

Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
Okay, wow.

Speaker 51 (01:18:37):
With that, with that north wind and that hard south current,
those fish out to be trucking through in South Florida
today and tomorrow.

Speaker 52 (01:18:47):
And if you're not out there with your kites and
your goggle eyed and your tread fins or.

Speaker 51 (01:18:52):
Anything that you can hang out of that rag man,
I'm telling you you're missing out.

Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
You could.

Speaker 51 (01:18:58):
You could have one of the best days you'll have
all year this weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
Wow man.

Speaker 38 (01:19:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:19:04):
Sean was saying one of the boats had forty sailfish
in that tournament.

Speaker 2 (01:19:08):
Yep.

Speaker 51 (01:19:09):
One there was a boat that posted something like thirty
five or forty fish. I mean, it's just just crazy,
just crazy numbers. There's a biomassive fish that are moving through.
And if you guys are not out there doing it
this weekend, you know, just you miss, We'll just go to.

Speaker 2 (01:19:27):
Any other fish besides sailfish could turn off by his
cold front. Besides the sailfish jumping, Yeah.

Speaker 51 (01:19:33):
Of course, I mean, you know, anything else that's trucking
down with him.

Speaker 52 (01:19:36):
I mean you'll see some mimais, you might see a wahu,
anything that you're gonna catch out of the kite is
gonna be it's going to.

Speaker 2 (01:19:44):
Be fired up with him.

Speaker 51 (01:19:45):
We had a few black men tunas this week in
the afternoon. The fishing was really terrible most of this week.
But this is a game changer. This is one of that's.
This is if it blows hard enough, you might even
see some yellow fins.

Speaker 52 (01:20:01):
Here and there.

Speaker 2 (01:20:02):
What yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean.

Speaker 51 (01:20:07):
This is one of those I.

Speaker 3 (01:20:09):
Yeah, yeah, those I call it one. It was like
it was like this big baby, ye little baby here
in a school of black fan.

Speaker 2 (01:20:19):
Okay, pretty weird, Sure I did right. It might have
been like a no, dude, it was.

Speaker 4 (01:20:24):
It was either that or a long fin tuna that
those long fins. No, really it was it was. It
wasn't a black fan nor me.

Speaker 2 (01:20:32):
Has no idea what he's talking about. Back to you
the pro so again, cold front meets good news. Sailfish
are coming through and uh I heard as a backup
front norm coming by next week and we may not
have to be escaping his weather for a while. Buddy,
I don't know, I.

Speaker 10 (01:20:46):
Don't know, I don't care.

Speaker 11 (01:20:51):
Whatever.

Speaker 51 (01:20:51):
Whenever the whenever the front show up, you got to
fish through the conditions, So pay attention don't just go
out there and read your Florida's Sportsmen and do your
own thing. Okay, fish to the conditions, right okay, and
right now this is the best. This is the best
kind of conditions that we're that we get in this in.

Speaker 2 (01:21:12):
The winter time. Correction, norm you said read your Florida Sportsman.
I have bought a magazine in twelve years. Are people
still buying those things? Really? I don't even know. I
mean I read it online.

Speaker 4 (01:21:26):
That's a good question.

Speaker 2 (01:21:27):
I mean, some of them are actually really good.

Speaker 51 (01:21:30):
Like there's there's a couple of them.

Speaker 52 (01:21:31):
I don't like to pimp too much, but that used
to be one of the better ones.

Speaker 30 (01:21:36):
It had.

Speaker 51 (01:21:36):
It's fallen off in the in the past few years.
But like Florida Sport Fishing magazines are really good magazine.

Speaker 2 (01:21:42):
Yeah, and there's still you.

Speaker 52 (01:21:44):
Know, Marlin magazines as great as it ever.

Speaker 11 (01:21:46):
Was, you know.

Speaker 10 (01:21:48):
Regardless.

Speaker 2 (01:21:49):
I like the Free Coastal Anglers. I like they put
them on the catteris of where I work in other places,
the Free Coastal Anguish are pretty good. Ragged they'll trust
me nothing. I think.

Speaker 3 (01:21:59):
That's the other like these magazines, they're like sixteen ninety
nine twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:22:04):
Five bucks, and it's like forget about you. No, I
mean where you can go online and just kind of
free the same stuff. All right, norm, Well listen before
you go. Our main man has been in office for
about a week. He pretty impressed by what you're seeing.

Speaker 51 (01:22:21):
Yeah, well, I mean he picked global warming in the
first week.

Speaker 2 (01:22:26):
Yeah, he fixed border crossings the very first day. But anyway,
I know I can't talk politics on the show, so
I would not go there. But Norman, thanks so much. Man,
have a fine weekend on the finest kind. You always
bring us strong and we appreciate your total brutal honesty
every weekend. Man, So thank you, brother. Thanks Norm All right,
as run that dog, Run that dog. So I had

(01:22:47):
a chance to text back with Johnny Stabil. I showed
him a picture of my lake yesterday morning with that
steam coming off. Yeah, and he basically said it back
to me, this is not good. Oh no, So wow,
let's get the what happened profession about fish kill off
stuff that maybe.

Speaker 12 (01:23:02):
Having shuns Johnny's.

Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
To build my friend. Good morning to you, Bud.

Speaker 38 (01:23:09):
If it was a good morning, it would be sunny
in seventy five.

Speaker 2 (01:23:13):
Yes it would be. So you saw a shot of
my lake where the cold air meets the warmer water,
which means that that Dan Lake water is now getting colder.
Joey Boy, and Johnny, you had mentioned me in a
come back comment that you just simply said, this isn't
isn't good. So what's your professional opinion about this whole

(01:23:34):
snap we're having here? Body?

Speaker 38 (01:23:37):
It's uh, it's all bad, man, not good. There's you know,
a couple of reports over on the just of Florida,
like Cape Coral area. It's all it's all bad, big
big fish kills over there. You know, we get another
cold front like what we kind of had, or you know,

(01:24:01):
without enough time in between to let it kind of
warm back up, it's gonna be a bad, bad news
yere Everglades water temperature yes, well yesterday the day before
was like fifty seven degrees, which is just downright freezing
for those fish.

Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
Yeah yeah, Well, how long does it take for a
fish kill to start, Johnny, after this cold weather invage?
It takes time over a week or two, or is
it like an immediate thing or how's it happened?

Speaker 38 (01:24:33):
It usually happens when the cold weather is here. You know,
if it gets if that water temperature stays, you know,
like fifty five degrees for more than three or four
days back, maybe three days, you're gonna start seeing fish
floating and you'll see you'll see all the gators having
a field day eating all the dead fish. Lake Ida.

(01:24:55):
You know, it gets that city that you know, that
city key eat that it kind of residual heat that
it holds in. So I think Lake Ida is going
to be safe this week, but you know, there's supposed
to be another nasty cold front coming through, which has
me a little bit concerned unfortunately. And you know, I
haven't been fishing pretty much at all in the last

(01:25:21):
I don't know, ten days, maybe eight days, because there's
just you know, there's just nothing to do. It's it's
so cold, you're you're gonna catch three fish all day,
and I don't want to do any of that with
my clients. It it's it's unfortunate. It's an unfortunate time
of year, and it's kind of scary for guys like
me that make their whole livelihood based on peacock fishing

(01:25:44):
or exotics, and the exotics are you know, not really
good with cold weather.

Speaker 4 (01:25:52):
I mean, do you think Johnny, because I was thinking
about this too.

Speaker 3 (01:25:58):
So we're only in the end of January, so realistically
we could still get we have another one coming they're saying,
and that's supposedly gonna be in the fifties again. But
then we're We're still only in February, so we could
we could be getting cold fronts, you know, up until

(01:26:19):
the end of March. So my question is, like how
much can they take, you know, like what we have
another one coming through, Like what's the what's the breaking point?
What what was it that killed all those snook years
ago and stuff like that. I really don't know, you know.

Speaker 38 (01:26:37):
Yeah, you know, you see a lot of dead snuck
on the West coast, and the West coast gets seems
to get colder than the East coast, which is I
guess good for us, But there I've seen a lot
of reports of dead snuck, like up in the Panhandle
area where you know, they were very close to all
that snow or even a lot of the Panhandle did

(01:26:58):
snow get snow.

Speaker 2 (01:27:00):
And I've seen a.

Speaker 38 (01:27:01):
Lot of dead snooke up that way, lost this dead
snooke basically, you know, just north of Tampa on the
west side, the East Coast. I haven't really heard of
anything too bad. You know, we get the the Gulf
stream current kind of brings that warmer water around, so
I think we're kind of more well, let me say

(01:27:21):
that again. The Gulf of America current brings all that
you know, warmer current around.

Speaker 2 (01:27:30):
Johnny, I caught that, by the way. I'm glad you
said that Gulf of America. That's great, you know, but anyway, okay,
so continue on, my friend.

Speaker 38 (01:27:43):
But no, I mean the Gulf of America seeds the
East Coast with all that warmer water, which you know
is good, and I think that's going to kind of
save a lot of the fish in dis Game Bay
and Flamingo and you know throughout the Keys. You know,
you get a lot of that warmer water that kind
of flushes through that whole area for the exotics.

Speaker 2 (01:28:05):
I'm worried. Yeah, well, we're all worried about this fish
cuil off. I don't want to see it happen again.
I saw that one years ago. Yeah, I mean it
was literally foting fish everywhere.

Speaker 5 (01:28:15):
What's the recovery time on that, Johnny? If we get
what you think is going to happen here, how long
does it take to you know, bounce back.

Speaker 38 (01:28:25):
You know, salt water, it could bounce back within five years.
Fresh water, It just depends on how many fish actually die.
You know, if you have total devastation, the state will
more than likely restock fish. You know in certain areas

(01:28:45):
like the Everglades.

Speaker 53 (01:28:47):
And the lakes on the East Coast that have the
really bad Mayan sicklid you know issues. But you know,
these cold fronts like this there let me let me
backtrack first, there are Mayan cicklids on Lake Ida or
on Lake Okechobe, and Lake Okechobe gets squeezing, so I

(01:29:10):
don't know, you know, the Mayan cicklids must have a
much uh you know, I don't know, more tolerant of
the cold weather body than peacocks, do.

Speaker 2 (01:29:21):
We know what the whole thing about, this whole thing,
Johnny and Joe and Steve is basically this is Mother
Nature at work and we can't stop whatever she does.
So you know, she's put the cold weather down here,
and the fish if they have to take a hit,
it's just the life cycle, man. You know, things happen. Yeah,
I mean, we can't change it, man, you know, I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:29:38):
But I've never I since living in Florida. This is
definitely one of the coldest winters I think we've had
so far. Yeah, I don't remember all these cold fronts
like this.

good three hundred days away and we can do a
little countdown.

Speaker 2 (01:39:52):
Seriously, Eric days away, that's not too bad.

Speaker 55 (01:39:56):

about the cold front. Selfish are really hammering down right now,
especially with that south current. So I expect to add
a lot today and tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (01:41:26):

big fish joll muttons and selfish and selfish, Yeah, muntons
of selfish. It was AJ's for a wader, but yeah, selfish.

are perfect for keeping your phone or smaller items safe.
You got handles on the front and the back help
you easily carry the kayak.

Speaker 2 (01:50:29):
You can't forget about.

Speaker 57 (01:50:30):
The tracks throughout the kayak perfect for all your accessories.

Speaker 34 (01:50:34):
Camera mounts, or fishing rod holders.

Speaker 57 (01:50:36):
My personal favorite features.

Speaker 34 (01:50:39):
On this kayak are one the eight inch hatch right.

Speaker 57 (01:50:42):
In front of the seat between your legs to throw
your feet, fish or beers into The icing on the cake, though,
is one thousand percent the seat on this bad boy.
The reclining suspended mesh seating with thy support, combined with
the foot braces lead to ultimate comfort.

Speaker 2 (01:51:00):
You could honestly take.

Speaker 34 (01:51:01):
A nap on the Hobly Quest Fishing Kayak. Once you
take a ride on this kayak, you'll notice it's insane stability.
When I took out the Holy Quest Fision kayak, I
was even able to stand up on it while paddling.
I mean, you know a kayak is stable when you're
able to stand up on it and treat it like
a stand up paddle board.

Speaker 22 (01:51:17):
Now let's go over the specs.

Speaker 57 (01:51:19):
You're getting twelve and a half feet in length and
thirty one inches wide.

Speaker 34 (01:51:22):
This kayak can even hold up the three hundred and
fifty pounds when getting this guy in the water.

Speaker 2 (01:51:27):
You're going to be carrying only sixty six pounds for
this monster of an extreme fision kayak.

Speaker 34 (01:51:31):
You can check out the hoby Quest Fishing Kayak at
our local Nautical Ventures Water Sports stores in Fort Lauderdale
or in North Balm Beach. I'm Kat Haley and I'll
see you next week on the Week three Fisherman Show
on Fox Sports nine AM.

Speaker 2 (01:51:44):
Yeah, bag Ka Haley brought us strung again. Man.

Speaker 5 (01:51:47):
She's really really good. By the way, that kayak was good.
I really like the feature with a hatch between the legs. Yeah, okay,
the hatch between the legs. It is just well thought of.

Speaker 2 (01:51:56):
You thought of that's put it up between your legs.
But I like Haley because she doesn't just talk about it.
Everything she's ever done, let's a ghot cycle or whatever else,
she jumps on board, finds the time and goes out
there and actually shows you how it's done. So he's
just talking about it, she's doing it. She is terrific.
Man so Agrin. By the way, you can find out

(01:52:17):
in Donald Ventures the number one dealer and the nation
of the top one hundred out of the thousands around
the US. Number one is Nautical Ventures. Thanks to Roger
Moore and Crewe won a great award in honor that
was my friend, Man scrat Man. Got a couple of
minutes left to talk, Joe, I think we're gonna rap

(01:52:38):
this thing with little football talk because I'm getting a
little nervous. We're down to the wire. Okay, okay, So
who's alive still in this whole scenario. Casey's still alive,
Buffalo's playing right, and who else in the NFC?

Speaker 3 (01:52:53):
We got the Commander's Commanders versus the Eagles, a rival game.

Speaker 2 (01:52:57):
So one of these games being played. Do you think
when what one are these teams gonna?

Speaker 3 (01:53:04):
I think my prediction, I truly think Washington is gonna
beat the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (01:53:10):
For some reason, I agree with you. I can't figure
out where the Commanders came from out like out of nowhere, man,
you know I know that, Thank you. Well, they actually
finally get good.

Speaker 3 (01:53:20):
Well, so they were the worst team in the This
is this goes to show you how you can go
from the worst to first in one year. They got
the first pick, and what did they do. They drafted
a quarterback and they also brought in a great coaching.

Speaker 4 (01:53:35):
Staff, and look what happens.

Speaker 2 (01:53:37):
You win.

Speaker 3 (01:53:38):
So it's not rocket science. You need the quarterback, you
need the coaching. You got those two things your set.

Speaker 2 (01:53:45):
Can We all agree though in the AFC that I
don't want Kansas City going back to the big games.
I agree. I'm sick of yeah, but they wanted them,
but they win. I'm tired of that crap.

Speaker 4 (01:53:54):
They're good.

Speaker 3 (01:53:55):
Listen, the NFL wants Taylor Swift They want the Swifties,
they want that whole thing. They want mister Pfizer, you
know who that is, right, Yeah, whatever, Kelsey Man.

Speaker 2 (01:54:05):
They want all that stuff, man, they want all that stuff.
I wanted to be. I wanted to be Bill's Eagles.
Is my pick for the super Bowl. That's why I want.

Speaker 4 (01:54:14):
Okay, I'm gonna tell you something.

Speaker 3 (01:54:16):
After after that Texans Chiefs game and all the bad
calls that happened against the Texans, and and it went to.

Speaker 4 (01:54:23):
National media how bad it was. All eyes are going
to be on that game, man, and It's all about
option you think.

Speaker 2 (01:54:30):
About the refs are going to give Casey a passes
every Hey.

Speaker 3 (01:54:33):
They better not, because I'm gonna tell you man, it's
it's really. It's known now what's going on with Kansas City.
So all eyes are going to be on that game.
I think it would be just great for Alan and
Buffalo to get over that hump.

Speaker 4 (01:54:48):
What is this the third year in a row they
play Kansas I'd.

Speaker 2 (01:54:50):
