It's all about the camera angle, it really is, though,
you guys are disgusting. Okay, you could do a lot
with that. Look what Eric does with Pablo every every day.
Thank you, Joy. But Steve was camera angles so great.
To get three massive egos like us on one camera,
it might explode. It was pretty impressive my mind.

That is that? A?

Speaker 10 (03:44):
Is that a happy birthday balloon? Who's whose birth? Whose

Speaker 2 (03:47):
It was chorectors yesterday? Actually yeah, yeah, yeah, Oh officially
he's forty it's over forty three.

Speaker 10 (03:56):
Oh man, I thought you were like fifty seven or something.

Speaker 11 (03:58):
Oh oh oh.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Joe, what with all this?

Speaker 12 (04:03):
You got the old hate forty three, fifty sixty, forty seven?

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Oh my yeah, Johnny, hold are you man?

Speaker 8 (04:10):
Twenty ninety nine?

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Joe? You know, you know you're learning faster the show.

Speaker 9 (04:16):
You said, of course you said Joe was forty three. Yeah,
you know what starts happening after forty three?

Speaker 8 (04:22):
Joe?

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Yeah, sure, I'll just run with it. Yeah.

Speaker 9 (04:25):
You start, you start, you start losing your your hearing,
you start losing your your sight, you don't believe me.

Speaker 10 (04:31):
Next thing, you know, you're changing your name to Eric.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Oh, there you go.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
You know what's bad, man, You know it's bad. When
your kid Mia was all excited. She She's like, Daddy,
I got you this present.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
So I look at it.

Speaker 5 (04:46):
I open it and it's one of those beard dye things.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
I saw that I can.

Speaker 6 (04:54):
Die the grays that are all.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
So I shaved. I shaved. I was done. After that,
I'm gonna shave down. You've got that big patch of
ash hair off your chin. Make fun of Joe. Yeah,
come on, you know your step.

Speaker 6 (05:10):
Johnny's on my side.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Anyway, back on point rob I've heard a lot of
caps states were slow. Johnny. I'm not sure how you've
been fishing in your world jigging, but a lot of
our calves are saying, Robbert, that's been slow as hell
this week. Man.

Speaker 8 (05:23):
Okay, I was out and we had we had an
okay time, but it wasn't been great.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Of course you did, Johnny, Yeah, thanks said it was okay.
You're the only one. By the way, I've been hearing.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
The bottom fishing, though, is pretty decent, especially like big
muttons and stuff like that.

Speaker 9 (05:43):
Yep, Yep, it's been. It's been consistent with the bottom fishing.
As a matter of fact, we had a nighttime shorter
last night. We got our limited yellow tail just enough current.
We had just enough current to get them out, you know,
right to the back of the boat, you know, charm
and they will come so awesome.

Speaker 8 (05:59):
How deep were they the yellow till?

Speaker 9 (06:01):
I mean, you're I usually catch them around you know,
usually sixty five seventy feet of water, okay, and then
we just pretty much just start chumming them up.

Speaker 10 (06:11):
And then you know, we have the right amount of current,
they'll come up.

Speaker 8 (06:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Hey, Rob, real quick man. Johnny stead up of course,
Johnny jigs are a special guests this boy. Have you
ever been into the slow pitch vertical jig gig on
your boats before? Was your clients?

Speaker 9 (06:25):
Yes, yeah, some of the clients so use his jigs
and you know, they will do their own thing. But
me personally, and now I'm usually up on the bridge,
you know, I wish I could do that, but usually
up on the bridge, and they're the ones that are
down there, you.

Speaker 10 (06:37):
Know, slow pitching with his jigs down there.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Have you seen us the fish brought up with those jigs?
On your boat.

Speaker 9 (06:43):
Oh yeah, absolute, Oh yeah, absolutely, a lot of tune
of black fan tuna, a lot of bonitas, like a
little bit of everything.

Speaker 10 (06:50):
Man.

Speaker 9 (06:51):
We even every once in a while we'll go offshore
to the nine hundred foot mark, you know, muddy spots
down there and start catching the rosies and golden tiles
with those with those jigs.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Yeah, golden tile. Funny you mentioned that because Johnny was
going to talk about golden tile on the show today. Yeah,
and the fact that your jigs are just banging great
for him, by the way, there, Captain Robert just brought
it up, man, so very cool. I mean, how's the Wahoo?
Why did you go to Wahoo? Which don't even talking
about about golden tile? Because why did you go to

(07:25):
Why do you go to Wahoo? We're talking about golden
because we got a lot to go. Why would you
do that? We're talking all right, let's go up with
a golden tile wrapper, Robber, you jump over to.

Speaker 5 (07:35):
Wahoo because we need to full report and he's got
a whole segment on that.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
You are so oversteeroid you can't about one fish. So
would you juice up this morning for your wherever? We'll
just talk about golden tiles, because.

Speaker 10 (07:51):
I told you, I told you you see what happens
when you get old.

Speaker 8 (07:53):
Look at that.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
You just went off.

Speaker 12 (07:55):
Man, it's crazy about golden tile and you just you
Jerryatric brain watered off.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
In a wall.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
Who I thought we were going to do a whole
segment tile.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Well you want to do it now. I want to
Robert and Johnny to go back and forth a little
bit about golden cole techniques. You guys need to hug
each other right here. Oh my h So, Johnny, would
you like to talk with Captain Robert about maybe golden
tile jigging? Maybe possibly?

Speaker 9 (08:22):
Yeah, oh Johnny, Johnny does it in the new way.

Speaker 10 (08:27):
You know, I'm more like the old school way.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
You know.

Speaker 9 (08:29):
I use the deep you know, deep top bricks, you know,
with a five pound lead and just send it down
there with the old squid.

Speaker 8 (08:35):
So yeah, I mean that's super effective. You know. The
jigging for golden tile is fun and and and it's
very effective. The easier way is is obviously dropping a
lead and then you know, having your bent bud set
up with the squid on it. But you know, on
days where the current is is pretty minimal, that you
can get away with a four or five six hundred

(08:56):
gram jig and effectively, you know, stay tight to the bottom.
You got a great chance. I've caught many, many, many
golden tiles on the jig, so it's it's definitely.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
I did not know. Joe and Robert just tipped me
off that people are putting bait on their jigs as well.
With Johnny Jiggs. So I thought there was a bare hook.
You're saying, no.

Speaker 10 (09:18):
No, no, no, b no b no no not not
no no no.

Speaker 7 (09:23):
He so he does it great, You keep going, Eric,
Eric turned their hearing it up a little bit.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Okay, I missed that whole.

Speaker 5 (09:33):
No no, no, no, no, no, You're fine, keep going
Saturday so so so Johnny.

Speaker 10 (09:39):
So Johnny jicks him up, all right, he uses his jigs.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
You you drop down of waight, yeah, yes, yes, we
do the.

Speaker 10 (09:48):
Old school that you get trying to calm one thousand,
you know, drop it down there.

Speaker 8 (09:51):
But to back to back Eric up, though, there is
a ball ch don't that you could put down and
tip with bait, and and you work it a little
bit differently than a slow pitch shake, but you can
get it down to the bottom. Yeah, yeah, you put it.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Put this.

Speaker 5 (10:05):
Yeah, Johnny, you don't have to back name a tactic
from nineteen forty seven.

Speaker 8 (10:13):
We don't need to do that.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Before Robert goes you want to ask the Wahoo question now, Joe. Nope,
Oh now you're playing baby boy. Oh no, I'm saying, no, daddy,
I'm not going to have that. Those peas, no golden tiles.
That's it. That's all I want to know.

Speaker 9 (10:27):
Yeah, okay, Joe, Joe, they've they've been, they've been in
the Boyne Beach area.

Speaker 13 (10:31):
Joe, they've been in the Boyn Beach area.

Speaker 6 (10:33):
Thank you, my friend.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Okay, I appreciate it. Yeah, goldels, how deep. Yeah, there's
a surprise question, Joe. We caught we caught a double.
We caught a double on three hundred.

Speaker 14 (10:43):
And thirty feet, Um a touble?

Speaker 10 (10:46):
Yeah, but with that blue and blue and white this
time blue and white.

Speaker 8 (10:49):
Okay, wait all righty man.

Speaker 12 (10:52):
So before Robert goes, go ahead, Josh, sorry, yeah, so
high speed trolling or be trolling?

Speaker 10 (10:59):
Yeah, yeah, you know, we changed it to high speech
trolling this time.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
Okay, cool, before you go anything else, bite out there.
No mahi's popping around or they just died off the
water or what the hell's going on with money?

Speaker 9 (11:08):
And I mean that we've caught like a handful. Honestly, Eric,
they've been sporadic. I mean they've been sporadic because it
has been like you know, previous years. I mean it's
been like three or four, three or four of that.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
You know that's pretty visible, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah, well
a lot of caps. I talked to you last night,
which I do show prep call call it captains Joe.
I've tried some time, really tried. Okay, bike a pull
of call? Yeah what you never call it?

Speaker 5 (11:33):
Let's trade? We should trade. How about you do the videos?
And obviously did you do the problem love the Did
you do the promo.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
On Instagram and Facebook last night like I did? Yeah?
They called you never post up bad? You are such
a Yes, I did speak Johnny will a test.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
I called Johnny last night and I said, Johnny, what's
the plan for the show.

Speaker 6 (11:52):
How are we doing?

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Oh? How about it? I wake up of the of
the night.

Speaker 6 (11:56):
I had a mosquito flying my eye.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Okay, my ass?

Speaker 9 (11:59):
Yeah, Before Eric, before I go out, I have a
question for Johnny on your jigs. Have you ever caught
like a the queen snappers or anything like that.

Speaker 8 (12:09):
Oh yeah, one of my favorite most sought after fish
to catch the queen snappers. One hund will slam the jigs.
It's a highly effective way to catch them.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
A great question.

Speaker 8 (12:22):
But and the thing about that that gets me lit up,
because the queen snappers pound for pound day are I mean,
they just fight like you wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Believe, aren't they a strange looking fish?

Speaker 8 (12:33):
Chooser kind of Yeah, it looks like a giant goldfish
almost right. Yeah, actually beautiful and they fight you all
the way. Uh the good eat they are, Yeah, very
good standingway, cad Robert.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
Unfortunately.

Speaker 29 (20:30):
The only thing I will say out out there is
I did get on a good large mouth bass bite,
which is not exactly what I'm known for, but but
sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, and you
want people to catch fish, and that's kind of how
I went about it this week. The city canals. I've
not seen any floating in the city canals and but
I'm sure there's a few, but it's that's they're usually

(20:50):
pretty well protected. And I did get on a decent
bite out there, especially early in the week for the peacocks,
finding them around trees and stuff like that. And I
had a couple of people fly fishing during the week,
and the fly was working very well in the beginning
of the week, and then by the end of the week, unfortunately,
it wasn't working as good, and I started swapping over
and going for large mouth out in the glades, and

(21:12):
that's kind of where I'm at right now.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Nice, You mentioned one blower was working really hot for you,
that top water jerk bait.

Speaker 29 (21:20):
What was going on is like I got a friend
of mine that was out there fishing, and he told
me got on a good popper bite and that bit.
So of course, poppers are more gentle on the surface
than like some of your top order plugs, the pop
bars on spinning tackle and torpedoes and that. And I
did try that out there with the top order a

(21:41):
little bit and the pure top water plugs, and the
fish would come up and just kind of gently suck
it down some and it wasn't anything violent. So I
started trying the jerk baits, the floating jerk baits.

Speaker 8 (21:55):
Of course, I like my.

Speaker 29 (21:55):
Baggly minto beans, which you can't get anymore, but I
still have a lot of them, and I tied them
on and we had them and and those the fish
were hitting them much better, and we end up catching
about twenty five bass just in a couple hours on
the water.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
Out in the glades.

Speaker 14 (22:12):
Nice and once later even got two on one lure
of the one time and I had the picture real pictures.
We don't go real pictures.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Yeah. So Johnny Stetup, by the way, makes the smaller
you just introduced his buddy last year smaller. Yeah, for
the for the fresh water guys, right, Yeah, it's Johnny
Steville swears by him, by the way.

Speaker 8 (22:31):
Yeah he was. He said, when the when the cold snaps, calm,
the fish bed down, and it's a good time to
fish for him.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
So would you mind telling Allen what that particular technique
and that lower might be with how big it is,
how long it is, what what do you call?

Speaker 8 (22:46):
I think? Yeah, I mean Johnny, Johnny is really developing
this for me and into the fresh water. But he's
saying it's basically twenty grams, and I think we need
to even go a little bit smaller at some point,
but the twenty gram is definitely effective at this point.
But he said he was, you know, pitching bait ad him,
got him kind of fired up, and then boom, they
were just nailing.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
The like too much lower.

Speaker 8 (23:09):
I mean, it's it's probably less than any super tiny
two assist hooks just on the back side of it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
using like a real uh light.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (23:24):
When I say light, I mean in the bast world,
it's probably about about a standard you know, jigging rods
set up. But uh and then and then just small
twitches back towards you with this with the slow reel
and and uh, yeah, it was effective. I went out
with my dad about a week ago to the Miami
Canal and was just tearing them up with it. And
I was I was switching out hooks to try, and

(23:45):
you know, I'm trying different stuff. I'm doing trouble this
and that and everything. But I found the two assist
hooks on the back was awesome.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Now there's a lore for you, buddy, Johnny jig Man,
how about that? Whatever?

Speaker 29 (23:57):
Yeah, yeah, I've got so many badly men bees I
have to use them though.

Speaker 14 (24:02):
Okay, there's based.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Box for a few more Johnny jigs and teel me
to have Joe Hector deliverum personally. We will do that
for you. I will do that.

Speaker 14 (24:12):

Speaker 15 (24:16):

Speaker 2 (24:17):

Speaker 14 (25:04):

Speaker 29 (25:06):
I mean it's uh, you know my other operations, the
other ones I had. The shoulders good, the hands good,
the knees well. I mean, I have to be careful
how I get around the boat. Still I am. I
am open to take people out fishing, and I just
don't fish as much. I mean, in stat fishing seven
days a week, I'll fish three or four days a
week right now. And that's kind of how I've been

(25:28):
going about it and.

Speaker 14 (25:30):
Hopefully they'll they'll get better as time goes on. I've
just told that.

Speaker 29 (25:34):

business has been a little weird this year so and
last year it was weird. So it's partly my fault
because I got hurt, but it.

He's got his own TV channel on YouTube. What's the
name of the show?

Speaker 30 (31:35):
There?

Speaker 8 (31:35):
Are Johnny Jigs TV.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Gosh, I was ant brainer Johnny Jigs TV. Keep it simple, geez,
I should have guessed it on my own. What do
we see on Johnny Jiggs TV.

Speaker 8 (31:45):
Well, currently, we just posted a couple of our new podcasts,
and I think we're going to just move that over
to Justin podcast, but I wanted to introduce it to
our YouTube folks so they could see it. But mostly
you're gonna see fishing adventures, a lot of education on
jigging destination spots, so we fish all over the country,
sometimes out of the country. But it's a pretty cool

(32:07):
YouTube channel, it really is.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
You're you're so big of so I thought Joe was
big on social media, but you were like, he's the
King taking a storm.

Speaker 8 (32:13):
Dude.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
You're on every every platform. But I don't know whatever.

Speaker 8 (32:17):
It's it's a lot of work, but but it looks great. Yeah,
it's fun. Man, You got your.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
Media guy is just begging yeah, yeah.

Speaker 8 (32:24):
Yeah, don't tell him that.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Okay, he's waite got the reward fleet use that. Stephens
from Star Trek got it, man, We got god God Way.

Speaker 36 (32:37):
Good morning buddies, Hey man, what's up Johnny Jigger?

Speaker 13 (32:40):
Oh cool? Very very cool man.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
He's been on your fish on the Reward Fleet guys.

Speaker 36 (32:46):
Yeah yeah, listen, well listen, there's only one boat to
go jigging on in Miami where you can go with
more than six guys.

Speaker 13 (32:53):
And they're going to go with six guys. You're gonna
go with six guys, go Jim.

Speaker 11 (32:57):
Yeah, I think so.

Speaker 13 (32:57):
I think so.

Speaker 36 (32:58):
We thought about his you know, arted this stuff, dude,
you know we started this stuff off. You go on
YouTube on Reward for you're gonna see videos from twelve
fourteen years ago when nobody we didn't know anything. Either
they hit the bottom and jig it or you know,
you sad similar techniques with the vertical jigs, and you know,
we slow pitched vertical jigs, you know, and then when
slow pitched jigs came along, we speed jig though. Is

(33:21):
because the fish don't know what the label says.

Speaker 13 (33:23):
So uh.

Speaker 36 (33:24):
But there's videos on the show is warsaws and and
uh wahoos and Almaco jacks and you know it's uh,
you know, Miami's a tough place to fish number one.
But that was a whole new thing for me. And
you know, I grew up fishing artificial lures and stuff
like that. So for me, it was a natural to
put people on fish with those jigs. And there's nothing

(33:46):
like putting ten twelve guys on a boat and having
when you hit fish right when we have five, six, seven,
eight fish on at the same time, and you're not
gonna get bite seven with live baits. Those jigs absolutely
crush fish.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Ye, with those those jigs as opposed to like drifting
maybe a live bait or a cigar met or whatever.
We're lines are kind of tangled on a Johnny jigs.
They much goes, We're down, straight down, and you're not
gonna tangle with your next fishing guy right over on
the next.

Speaker 36 (34:15):
Well, to me, it augments, and you know it augments
what we do. We all we have two to four
rods set up pretty much every day.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
We give them.

Speaker 36 (34:23):
We give them to the terrists because hey, can you
anybody here know how to crank? And then the truth
of the matter is, you know that is technique that important?

Speaker 13 (34:31):
Yes and no.

Speaker 36 (34:32):
The bottom line is, you know I'll show a customer, hey, look, uh,
you know, I I tell folks with conventional reels, you
don't have to work so hard going up.

Speaker 13 (34:41):
You get going down, they let it down.

Speaker 36 (34:43):
I said, count to ten, put you, you know, lock
the reel, jig it three or four times, open a reel,
count to five, and just do five counts all the
way to the bottom. And they'll get just as many
bites jigging it down as they do jigging it up.
You know what I'm you know, I'm gonna say just
as bad. But it lets you use the whole.

Speaker 8 (35:04):
Yeah, I mean, keeping it simple for people that are
just doing it, just as long as they're in contact
with the bottom. And then if if one thing that
I I tell guys, like if we're if we're getting
into black fin tunas or something, I say, give it
ten quick quick cranks up, give it ten jigs, and
then ten more quick cranks up and ten ten more jigs,
you know, and just keep working it up through the

(35:24):
water column, and you know, just to keep it basic.
You know, obviously there's absolutely absolutely more experienced anglers. Slow
pitch jigging will obviously be more effective and generally catch
more fishes because they know how to stay into the
strike zone a little bit better. They know how to
work the jig a little bit better.

Speaker 13 (35:42):
But you bring up a really good point.

Speaker 8 (35:46):
Yeah, go ahead.

Speaker 13 (35:47):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 8 (35:48):
At the end of the day, if you're if you're
moving the jig around, you know you got a.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
Chance moving red Wayne and so Clock is always rocking
on his program, as you know, what's what's the fleet?
What's your main fish?

Speaker 36 (36:02):
I mean, well, as you just mentioned that late afternoon,
you know, late afternoon, right, you know, it's a great
you know, we figured it out.

Speaker 13 (36:09):
It's been ten twelve years ago.

Speaker 36 (36:10):
I guess we started fishing deeper water that we got
blackvintunas off Miami year round. They're not always the big
ones that are like in the spring of time where
they're you know, much bigger fish. But we've had in
December and January, we've had great trips fishing on the
hump off Miami there on. You know, I call it
Mount Kipness because it's my ex partner, Danny. I'm like, well,
he is my partner.

Speaker 13 (36:31):
Danny's the one that created that.

Speaker 15 (36:33):
Yeah, hey, Danny, Danny.

Speaker 36 (36:35):
Danny asked Danny Press to have this this thing put
out there, and we've got to We've got our own
hump out there, and yeah, it gets to be a
parking lot and everybody thinks they own it. But late
late afternoon it can be a great place to catch
black fintunas. And you don't have to fish heavy if
you use your fish finder. That's one of the things,
like he was saying about the bite zone. Sometimes you
don't you're three hundred and forty feet's the highest spot,

(36:57):
three thirty five, but you're gonna see tune as might
be two hundred feet down. So I don't care how
much you're time with pilchards. It's going to take them
a while to come up. But if you fish in
those smaller jigs, you may only be getting three to
five pound tuon. Is all you need is twenty pound
foural leader. You don't need to fish the heavy stuff,
and you can clock them. You can clock those fish
with those little gram wise I don't know. I still

(37:19):
go back in my head to ounce jakes, but you know,
ounce and a half two two and a half hundred,
two hundred gram jigs or whatever smaller jigs, wire leaders
and rip them, and the black things are stupid on them,
you know they Yeah, But yeah, that's what I would say,
and and uh, we would be even catching.

Speaker 8 (37:39):
There's no better way to catch a black fin tuna
than on a jig.

Speaker 36 (37:42):
Absolutely, absolutely, dude, if you ever cracked them across the
surface when we get them up in the pilchards, we
fish this the smaller, vertical, slow pitched jigs. I don't
care what did Like I said, I don't care what
the label says on them. But you fish it like
a lure right across the top and they crush them.
Ye and h it works great. Hey man, They're just
they're just great lures to catch fish, and that's that's

(38:03):
the beauty of it.

Speaker 13 (38:04):
And it adds a whole other dimension. Listen, man, you
can put you can put.

Speaker 36 (38:08):
Look, I've kite fished since day one out here off Miami,
since anybody started it.

Speaker 13 (38:13):
But I was one of those guys I always have.

Speaker 36 (38:16):
We used to do a lot of a lot more
of bucktail jakes with big heavy bucktails, which and rubber
worms on them.

Speaker 13 (38:22):
My rod my boats have always had rides set.

Speaker 36 (38:24):
Up for them because you're fishing the whole water column
and you cannot you can't hardly duplicate that with live
bait or dead bait to the same extent. Nothing like
a lure ripping up through the up to the surface
at an angle or whatever is nothing like it. And
to have that extra dimension when you're fishing, it just
adds to your catch.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
Without a doubt.

Speaker 36 (38:43):
Some guys get tired a little quick, but you know, hey,
that's why you gotta get good. Listen, man, you gotta
get go with a spinning rod and a conventional so
when one arm gets tired, just switch over, just keep fishing.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
That's a great, great repard. But I love what you
bring to the show.

Speaker 36 (39:00):
Yeah, let's get you Johnny Jigs out again. Man, it's
time for an afternoon tun show. We are we are
considering starting uh late afternoon tun just tuna trips.

Speaker 13 (39:10):
We're gonna leave it atlock.

Speaker 36 (39:12):
Yeah and you just you bring break three beers and
you're riding three jigs and you're good, you know.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
Be a great trip, Joe. Yeah, hell yeah, I know.
Wait we can talk for hours, my friend. But thanks
you Reward Fleet to get on board.

Speaker 15 (39:29):
Yeah yeah you can.

Speaker 36 (39:30):
You can find us, find us on Facebook Reward Fishing Fleet. Uh,
you may see me doing some seminars and doing some
talks at the boat show. I'm working on that maybe
so I get I get to talk for a long
time then.

Speaker 13 (39:42):
So.

Speaker 2 (39:44):
You know, erics boat shows, Wayne, I really low, man.

Speaker 13 (39:48):
I know well you're selling boats. Snuckle ahead, I know that.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
Yeah, okay, yeah I'm not. Last couple of shows. Thanks
so much money. Have a great week, all right, man?
Take Oh, here we go. I want Johnny, Johnny the
school the looks, guy, I'm not spearing fish in the
brain hole picking up a damn rod. It's jigging for

(40:11):
a group of instead of shooting him sleeping by a seat.
You say, shooting it or look like something else? I said,
shooting it to the brain sound like an I want
to take the play back. There we go, Jim chief
E Matthew on the program.

Speaker 15 (40:30):
Hey, hey, listen, this this week was Sheep said, buddy,
Sheep said, what are you thinking.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
For a fact.

Speaker 4 (40:41):
That?

Speaker 15 (40:43):
How does that work with that did.

Speaker 8 (40:45):
On the sheep's head? Uh?

Speaker 13 (40:47):
Yeah, I haven't.

Speaker 8 (40:49):
I haven't. I don't think I've ever fished for sheep's.

Speaker 15 (40:51):
Head on the quest and and uh, this time of
year it seems like there's a spall going on because
we catch him kind of well we speed we speared them,
I should say, this time of year. So yeah, it's
a nice side side thing. It's been at the best,

(41:13):
but you know, say, but listen, it's been really really
nice out there flat. If he can passed the seventy
three degree water temperature, that's chili on the willie we had.
I was out a Tuesday with a Seafish captain Brett

(41:36):
at a book a tone inlet and we went south
and then we hit some forty eight foot stuff was
really I mean they were ever. We got our limit.
We got a limit, and we got this. Robert was
on the boat and got a huge lobster.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
I mean I saw that picture by the monster man.

Speaker 10 (41:55):
Wow, he was a he was a monster.

Speaker 15 (41:57):
He was eight nine ten pounds. Sometimes we didn't have it,
we didn't have a scale. So but and it was
in beautiful shape. Absolutely. Now Robert decided to put him back.
So he's still there.

Speaker 2 (42:12):
He let go, He let that go.

Speaker 15 (42:16):
God bless him, God bless them that. But but we
got our limit, We got our limits. That was good.
One here, one there, one there, two there three there
a little huddling up there south current. Absolutely beautiful visibility.
It was great. It was great. And then on Thursday
with my buddy Marshall owns Meisner Marina in Deerfield Beach

(42:41):
and went on his boat. It was great, same deal, buddy,
and we hit forty foot stuff. It was great. It
was absolutely fantastic. So that seems to me the magic
number still. All right, second reef, second reef, forty foot again,
we had a south current in all week, really good visibility.

(43:02):
But Chili on the Willie.

Speaker 2 (43:05):
All right, Johnny, I'm not sure why, but he does question. No.

Speaker 8 (43:08):
I was out. I was out on Tuesday the same
day and we were we were just yellow tailing and
forty feet and you could see yeah, you could see
see him. You can see the rocks from from the boat. Yeah, yeah,
straight down you.

Speaker 15 (43:21):
Can see the lobsters. I think I think you see
the lobsters from the boat.

Speaker 2 (43:25):
Could you clear water like that?

Speaker 8 (43:27):
Incredible?

Speaker 14 (43:28):
Yeah, it was really really really nice toay.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
You're the scavenger of the sea today. You're a scavenger
of the sea. When you're diving, you're finding anchors and
all kinds of cool stuff to resell, polish up and
make a million dollars. You ever found it, Johnny, Johnny
Jake got there on one of your trips up there diving.

Speaker 15 (43:45):
All the time, all the time on the red You
know what I mean? And what do they go for retail.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
Anywhere from twelve trying to figure out what was priced off.

Speaker 15 (43:58):
I could come for five bucks on don't you tell him?

Speaker 2 (44:01):
Okay, don't tip him off. He's gonna sell him for
half watch. Yeah, don't even tip him off.

Speaker 8 (44:07):
You are a TV.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
Johnnybody.

Speaker 15 (44:11):
Yeah, I'll tell you what we know. We haven't really
done a lot of wreck diving, so you know right
now it's still lobster lost. We got hey February March,
two more months left and uh then the lobster season ends,
Mark thirty. First, we have a really a down month
in April, but we focused then on lionfish and then

(44:31):
good old May. First, it's it's uh Eric's favorite month
where we put brain spears, speers in the brain hole
the ripper and off fish.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
Breadth of wait for that carbon monoxide, Jim, take a
big hit of that and have a great day. Goodbye
real quick.

Speaker 6 (44:51):
I got a question, Jet, what's the biggest sheepshead you've
ever seen?

Speaker 37 (44:58):
Well?

Speaker 15 (44:58):
Actually I always only looked. I mean, I don't know,
eight ten pounds something like that, maybe maybe sixteen eighteen inches.
They have a really big webcage. So when you fully
am you lose a lot of meat up that way, right,
But they do a bloodline, so but they have a nice,

(45:19):
nice flavor to them. They're not bad. But this time
of here we seem to catch him on the reef
four foot, so there's fawning, I think, yeah.

Speaker 2 (45:30):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Jim, have a great weekend, buddy.

Speaker 15 (45:34):
All right, you never know what we're to see today, Buddy,
we never know what we would to see today.

Speaker 2 (45:38):
We gave your spear gun in the truck of your car. Okay,
damn it, I got it.

Speaker 15 (45:43):
I'm ready to go, buddy. We're diving today. We're diving.

Speaker 2 (45:46):

set well, sorry Josh, sorry man.

Speaker 8 (46:16):
Yeah, fixed.

Speaker 2 (46:17):
Yeah, I like here is the question today eight six
six eight zero one zero nine forty right. The phrase
here's Johnny is famous being heard ware a Ed McMahon
on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, b Jack Nicholson

(46:39):
in the Shining or c Johnny Steadham on his honeymoon.
Well that could be like that. He actually missed one
of the bigger answers on that. But can't that be
all three? As will say? D is all the above? Yeah? Okay, okay,
but I thought Johnny's that a bussy to there's his

(47:01):
wife right there, and here's Johnny Johnny. Oh yeah, I
fired somebody up Johnny. So I kind of like D
is all the above because I actually heard all those say, see,
well you always want to be controversial. What screw up
the contest? So I can't get a wonder half? You
still get a winner? Okay? Eight six six eight zero

(47:24):
one zero nine four zero called out and just tell
Jeff Gosh, would it be all the above? D? Maybe? Okay?
See called out whin Fox Sports nine Boom, Fox Sports

Guy.

Speaker 2 (53:31):
Are you giving your box and start right to the neighbor.

Speaker 14 (53:34):
Absolutely, that gets that gets me on the boat.

Speaker 2 (53:37):

Speaker 8 (53:44):
Word is out there?

Speaker 2 (53:46):
Okay, this guy's pretty see.

Old? Maria Hector put online three? She said forty three?
Funny part. Sean, his dad, his dad called this is Joe.
I know you're forty three. This is your dad, man,
the guy that made you Joe. Okay, actually Joe's forty Okay,
everyone's ripping me anyway. I'm officially old no matter what. Uh,

(55:23):
Sean Ard guess so you may know the gentleman Johnny
Stead up for Johnny Jigs on the set today talk
about yeah, talk about chicken and did vertical jiggen slope
jiggen whatever else. Uh that's the sport you've tried before
several times, I'm sure.

Speaker 15 (55:37):
Oh yeah, especially.

Speaker 37 (55:41):
For local succession.

Speaker 8 (55:43):
Yeah, so what are you going after today's Sean.

Speaker 37 (55:48):
We're going today.

Speaker 15 (55:52):
But they can't fuck this one too.

Speaker 2 (55:58):
Stop barking nice, I will say, Sean, you're having kind
of a flicky phone day. It's hard to hear sure
where you are, but your phone is probably usually bang
of great.

Speaker 24 (56:07):
Yeah right, so.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
Oh you're about forty miles off.

Speaker 8 (56:14):
He says, he's going forty miles an hour an hour?

Speaker 2 (56:17):
Do you turn that hear? And do you need more
batteries for that?

Speaker 15 (56:19):
Huh?

Speaker 2 (56:20):
You stop at Steve. So anyway, you said kickfish today, right,
that's your target species. Okay, on that note, we just
lost this one. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (56:29):
I think he's gone or he doesn't want to tell
him anyway.

Speaker 15 (56:33):
Set Yeah, it goes out at heart alright, especially.

Speaker 2 (56:37):
All right, see you buddy. Alright. Shot, So if you
guys are bright into the show, we've about a minute
ture the killer before the top of the hour. Johnny
set ups with Johnny Jiggs, Joe Hector. You two guys
are budget and you talk Johnny about being a sponsor
in the program, which we're so glad for your support
because you can't use the lights on the program here. Yeah,
your support keeps the lights on, man, I mean, how
could I not?

Speaker 8 (56:57):
All right, man, that's the greatest fishing radio show on planet.

Speaker 2 (57:03):
The old one in South Florida is this one here?

Speaker 8 (57:05):
Yeah, that's crazy to me, as much as we like
that's impossible. That crazy.

Speaker 2 (57:10):
There are some shows on TV that are pre taped
weeks ahead.

Speaker 8 (57:14):
Of time.

Speaker 7 (57:15):
But we're the only live show giving you actual conditions
from real captains that fish South Florida on a regular basis.

Speaker 2 (57:23):
Totally a script of them my dad. So, Johnny, you
have a company called Johnny jigs right, you have a
you have a story. You have a brick and mortar store.

Speaker 8 (57:29):
Yeah yeah, Johnny Jinks dot com online as well as
Johnny Jigson Pompino Beach, the brick and watar. You could
walk in and get professional advice on any type of
slow pitch jgging casting stick baits. Just come right into
the store and Pompingo.

Speaker 2 (57:43):
Joe Hector to to do some Q and A because
I've been yacking a lot today. Watt Q and A
with your buddy like you talk now, jump in, man,
I appreciate it. Chew it with your buddy.

Speaker 5 (57:54):
So Johnny's been a sponsor of ours as well with
the kayak tournaments. And I'll tell you so, Johnny and
I talked in the gym when we met, and then
we both were just like.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
Wait a second, we need to we need to hook
up here because we've.

Speaker 6 (58:07):
Heard about each other for so long.

Speaker 8 (58:09):
Not that kind of hook up area.

Speaker 5 (58:10):
Yeah yeah, Steve might go, but I will say, I
mean to see the growth all in all in jigging
from when I fished from two thousand and eight on
a kayak to now where I don't really fish that
much anymore. But to see the growth in the sport
in general with the slow pitch jigging all of that.

Speaker 2 (58:32):
Where do you see the next stage? Like, what's the
next phase? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (58:37):
I think I think the jigs are gonna get better,
the rods are going to get better. A lot of
guys are moving into deep deeper water as.

Speaker 2 (58:45):
Well, which is cool.

Speaker 8 (58:47):
But I think I think actually micro jigging and the
shallow stuff and really I think that's something that hasn't
quite you know, h hit our turf and guys haven't
explored it enough and it's a lot of it's just
it's so much fun. Yeah, micro jging, but I think,
you know, just getting the technique down, getting the right

(59:09):
gear to do it and be effective at it. I
think it's something that can be dialed in a little
bit more.

Speaker 2 (59:14):
That's a stupid question now in your segment, Yeah, what
is micro jigging?

Speaker 8 (59:18):
Dude? Yeah, so we're we're scanning it down. So generally,
I say jigs that are one hundred gram up. You know,
we're slow pitch jinging, high speed jinging. And whenever you
get into the smaller jigs eighty sixty, forty, twenty, even
ten gram jigs, it's micro jinging. And it's still the

(59:39):
same idea and concept, but it switches up a little bit.
You know, the gear gets lighter. Not only that, now
you go from just dropping the jig straight down and
slow pitch to where now you can pitch this thing
out and work it back towards you across a reef.
H and you catch a lot of stuff. Man, you
catch it. I caught. I caught seventeen species and one day, Mike,

(01:00:01):
seventeen different.

Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
Species had in a quarium somewhere. Right.

Speaker 8 (01:00:10):
That's what's cool about it, right, like because you're you
just have no clue what you're going to pull up.
And I'm talking about kingfish, yellow jack, mutton snapper, yellow tails,
margate porgy. Yeah, I mean it was just yeah, really
really fun man, mangrove snappers.

Speaker 5 (01:00:26):
And that's the thing, like smaller, right, everything is getting smaller,
more effective, And yeah, you know, I agree.

Speaker 2 (01:00:33):
You're pro it's small, so you really fish your.

Speaker 5 (01:00:36):
Bill shank you So we have to take a little break,
and I have to add real quick, Joe. What is
amazing to me too, is that you talked about guys
going deeper now as well with the jigs in our tournament.
In our last tournament, we had a guy, if you
haven't heard, catch a sword fish on one of his

(01:00:57):
jigs in my tournament, which never happened in history.

Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
So neat in the world we're talking today.

Speaker 5 (01:01:04):
So it's it's amazing, you know, to see as an
entrepreneur myself, to see what he's doing and to see
the growth.

Speaker 2 (01:01:13):
I'm proud of him. He's doing it, doing a great job.

the show. Bro you what a great first hour. Bad

(01:05:46):
John with Wayne Cod and talk about your jigs all
over the captains and we're doing except by micro jigging
And are you a Joe or our Jim buddies and
shower friends and just all kinds of cool stuff.

Speaker 24 (01:05:58):
Man.

Speaker 8 (01:05:58):
Yeah, it's fishiest dudes in the South Florida.

Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
We were talking to her to break and I didn't
realize you told me Joe and we were all jawn here.
But you're global, Yeah, we are. Johnny Jig's global.

Speaker 8 (01:06:10):
Yeah. Yeah, people are shocked you actually have.

Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
Hard just Johnny Jigs on a shelf and like a greaser. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:06:19):
I don't wonder how you Yeah, New Zealand the word Yeah, Mexico, Bermuda.
I mean we're in some shops in the Bahamas, I
mean everywhere in the United States, California, New Jersey, South Carolina,
North Carolina. Oh yeah, you can walk in the store
and pull a Johnny jig. If you go to our

(01:06:39):
dealer locator at the bottom of Johnny jigs dot Com,
you can see all of our dealers and and so
find Johnny Jiggs there.

Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
You're the Elon Musk of jigging. There's wonder man. Damn dude,
you're bigger than you were. Wow. Speaking a big Benny's
fishing light one, you know, to sock up Benny with
Joe and all of us. We talked about our walls
with football, how bad the Jets suck, how bad the

(01:07:10):
Raiders sucked? Dolphins? What okay?

Speaker 9 (01:07:15):
Was?

Speaker 2 (01:07:15):
We said, you got a great new coach.

Speaker 8 (01:07:17):
By the way, dude, you know what?

Speaker 2 (01:07:19):
So I think it's okay. But again, let's wait and see.
He's got fred Man. He's a winner. He's one on
one live stuffer savory positively, which is surprising because hey,
did I hear Chucky's back?

Speaker 8 (01:07:33):
I hope?

Speaker 7 (01:07:34):
So I haven't heard me with the team, the team
until Grood and the coach where I heard that they
were looking at hiring him somewhere.

Speaker 2 (01:07:42):
So like, what about that anyway? Benny's online one holding
Betty one to your brother.

Speaker 44 (01:07:47):
Hey, good morning guys, talking all this football. But the
Florida Panthers are back in first place.

Speaker 2 (01:07:53):
Oh that's because you're a Panther freak faba.

Speaker 15 (01:07:58):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:07:59):
Hen So besides the Panthers doing great, we have a
great guy named Johnny Stellam here, Betty, you probably know
each other, right, pretty good man?

Speaker 8 (01:08:13):
Any fishing these days? What's going on?

Speaker 2 (01:08:15):
In the water. There's been great bail.

Speaker 44 (01:08:22):
Ahead, been some fishing, not as much catching as fishing,
but we're out there.

Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
We're trying to do it, you know.

Speaker 44 (01:08:29):
Yeah, any wahoo oh man this week? I don't recall
any wahoo. We've had a few trips going out. I
know when I think of wahoo. Right now, we're trying
to get over to Bimini over these next couple of days,
maybe next week or two, and I think the full
moon's on the twelfth.

Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
See if we can get a few Bahamian wahou man?

Speaker 6 (01:08:52):
Any any blackfan I heard there's some being caught.

Speaker 2 (01:08:55):
Yeah, I mean you're picking out a few here and there.

Speaker 44 (01:08:57):
A couple of guys that are running around looking for
mahi little farther offshore. They're not stacking up in on
the edge yet in shallower where we normally target them
around you know, one to two hundred feet of water.
They're definitely out a little deeper right now. If you
find some birds offshore, there's a lot of little black
fins flying around out there.

Speaker 2 (01:09:15):
Okay, Hey, Betty, didn't Golden Tile just opened up recently? Yeah?

Speaker 24 (01:09:20):
Yeah, what was that a couple couple of weeks ago?

Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
It opened uble. Was it the first of the year
maybe first of the year, so they're now legal to nail. Yep,
we're gonna focus on right now during the show. Uh
you ever target that species of all betty golden tile
on your boats. Yeah.

Speaker 44 (01:09:35):
Yeah, it's a real fun species that I do like
to target, not so much during charters. Sometimes during charters
you get some customers that might want to do that,
but a lot of times people don't want to. You know,
when we target those, we're using electric reels for the
most part, So when people are on charters, they're pretty
much hand cranking everything. But when I think of golden
tiles or black belly rosies, I look at it like

(01:09:58):
locals going grocery shop.

Speaker 2 (01:09:59):
And yeah, man, well, first of all, we know that
black belly rosies and golden towles are two different sized fish.

Speaker 8 (01:10:05):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:10:05):
Okay, you got a black rosie three inches long in it,
golden towel, you know, twenty five inches long.

Speaker 8 (01:10:10):
So yeah, but they're in the same spot and they're
both delicious.

Speaker 2 (01:10:16):
Yeah, they are great.

Speaker 8 (01:10:17):
I got a question for you, Benny, have you ever
pushed out further and and uh looked for barrelfish locally,
so No.

Speaker 44 (01:10:25):
I don't really target barrelfish much at all. The only
times I did catch any barrel fish when I used
to commercial swordfish.

Speaker 2 (01:10:33):
One of the guys I worked with, Yeah, they're it's like,
what's a barrelfish?

Speaker 8 (01:10:38):
Show, Benny should.

Speaker 2 (01:10:42):
It sounds like it's a barrel fun I don't know.

Speaker 8 (01:10:45):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:10:46):
Are they really deep the fish?

Speaker 8 (01:10:48):
Yes, and they're like they're they're good back almost. Yeah, yes,
I do think fish like it's and it's it's out
deeper than than the golden toile fish. So like they
get big, they get Yeah, they get big, and it's
it's something that's on my bucket list. And that's why
I'm like, man, I want to I want to check
that one off the list.

Speaker 2 (01:11:07):
I know we did it. We asked Benny that question.
Maybe he wouldn't want to answer, but sure, we just
took over again. Yeah, sorry, we'll just take over technically, guy.

Speaker 44 (01:11:15):
They're right, that's something you're gonna find right inside the
sword grounds, like a thousand and twelve hundred feet of water.
We used to catch them on accidents, sometimes while we
were sword dropping in shallow.

Speaker 6 (01:11:27):
So what so, how do you target that type of
fish if you wanted to, or you can't.

Speaker 44 (01:11:32):
You're gonna know you're going to be targeting them on
the bottom. You could target them, you know with they'll
eat a sword bate. If you're fishing, you too shallow? Okay,
you can catch them on a chicken.

Speaker 2 (01:11:43):
We brought another thing to the show, Joe, barrelfish. First
I heard about it was now on the show. I'm
going to be sewing Barrelfish charters all week. Barrelfish charters.
Benny's well, the only reason why.

Speaker 5 (01:11:59):
I remembered years ago when I was new to Florida,
one of my old neighbors he came back in and
he had these I mean they were huge, and they
were black with like black eyes and just really weird looking.

Speaker 6 (01:12:15):
I remember him now saying, you know, I was like,
what the heck?

Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
He's good each to her. Yeah, he was flaying them,
and you know he was gonna eat them very good.

Speaker 8 (01:12:22):
Eat question.

Speaker 2 (01:12:24):
John, you out put a whole new can of whoop
ass on the barrelfish thing.

Speaker 8 (01:12:27):
Man, Benny, I know some guys that would pay very
good money if you can put him on some barrel fish.

Speaker 2 (01:12:33):
I saw like part of the mob. You know, some
guys pay some good money to the barrel fish. Bet
I know a guy that shows up with concrete buckets. Yeah,
guess on the way down with the shoes day. Yeah, anyway,
Betty's overall, man, it's been slow for Lommer. Captains Bett,
you see kind of a die office. There's a drop

(01:12:54):
drop a little bit for your numbers heaving.

Speaker 44 (01:12:58):
That's that's been a topic saying, you know, is this
slow season slower than usual?

Speaker 2 (01:13:03):
If that's what you mean, then yeah, I mean that's yeah.

Speaker 44 (01:13:06):
I think as far as my guys here, Captain Mike,
Captain Tyler, they were both kind of saying that too, like, man,
it's tougher than usual.

Speaker 2 (01:13:13):
It's tougher than usual. We're hearing that from everybody.

Speaker 8 (01:13:17):
But it seems like it is.

Speaker 44 (01:13:18):
Man a lot of times this time of the year.
You know, sale fish are a little more abundant. You're
getting a lot of byecatch when you're targeting the sales.
You know, it still tends to be a lot of
action sometimes and spend some dreadful days out there.

Speaker 37 (01:13:31):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:13:32):
Well, we know it's maggot time right now, Okay, making
anglic great again. And just.

Speaker 5 (01:13:42):
Since Benny's still on the phone. Yes, I just got
I got this update from Facebook. It says here tyreek
Hill makes an interesting comment yesterday.

Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
He's throwing all kinds of stupid comments out there, which
one hell he said, I ain't gonna lie.

Speaker 5 (01:13:57):

good interaction with the Cabbins. Van answers the questions. We're
talking about stuff. Again. I had no idea about micro jigging,
so that's pretty cool with me. Yeah, realize in fact
you're a glow. Now you're again the eli musk of
the jig business. You know, I wouldn't go after it's

(01:20:06):
bring up an entrepreneur is Joe Hector. I'm not sure
it's even beatable.

Speaker 8 (01:20:09):
But yeah it is.

Speaker 2 (01:20:12):
You kidding me, He's all He's like, he's global. You
guys are hoots. I think man as far as promotion,
maybe we are, maybe we aren't. The the level of shilling,
you've taken it to a whole new level.

Speaker 6 (01:20:24):
Okay, hey, you you've really started shilling yourself.

Speaker 2 (01:20:29):
You know, I jumped on boy, I said, you know,

sold two boat yesterday.

Speaker 2 (01:20:44):
Yeah, you mentioned it like four times. Well let's stop.
Hold up, norma Norm gets pissed off and we'll just
start yelling at all of us. So bring on the man,
Norm back off, shall we?

Speaker 15 (01:20:55):
Hey?

Speaker 8 (01:20:56):
Norm?

Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
How's it going? Good morning ladies? Good morning Norm? So
I called Norm last night just see you know Joe,
and Norm told me and helt him. Tell yourself, he's
one of the worst weeks of fishing at Broward, probably
on record. Really, whoa Norm? Break the good news? Pal?

(01:21:17):
Will you please? Well you just did it took the
words run out of your mouth. Bed So why was
it so damn bad? Norm? What do you think? Man?
I don't know. Why is it bad?

Speaker 47 (01:21:30):
Well, we didn't have much wind, we didn't have a
lot of current, uh, pretty much all of those things
kind of made it suck all week.

Speaker 2 (01:21:43):
I love Norman right to the point. Bad.

Speaker 8 (01:21:44):
You know right, Bill sucks.

Speaker 47 (01:21:48):
Guys, I'm gonna be honest with you, if if if
the wife has something that she needs you to do.
This is the weekend to do it. There's not gonna
be a lot of wind this weekend. The only bright
spot is the daytime sword fishing. So if you want
to go out there and watch rod tips bounce for

(01:22:09):
fifteen hours, go ahead and do it. You'll probably you'll
probably get can't this pretty good chance? You know, we
had the moon phase this week and other than that,
go to Waikia, take the wife out the front, you know,
just put up with her nonsense and you know, don't

(01:22:30):
it's it's just it's going to be atrocious, it really is.

Speaker 2 (01:22:33):
There wasn't anything.

Speaker 47 (01:22:35):
There was no bites on the troll this week, very
little any of anything going on on the bottom. Wow
current You could have probably taken an opportunity to use
your Johnny jigs and drop for golden. That was about

(01:22:57):
the only thing that was happening. There were a few
goldens caught on the bottom. But I mean, when I
tell you the fishing was bad, I mean I'm talking
about guys that had to make multiple moves to catch
you know, a half a dozen vermillion snappers.

Speaker 24 (01:23:15):
I mean, it was it was really bad.

Speaker 8 (01:23:17):
Wood.

Speaker 5 (01:23:21):
Yeah, definitely makes me want to get into fishing. Let
me get this straight. No current then we're here in
South Currents calm. You know, no way he said, he said,
sucks pretty much.

Speaker 8 (01:23:34):
So that's pretty bad.

Speaker 2 (01:23:35):
Yeah, like the little word. How about the muttons though,
norm I, that's the one fish I've been hearing. Oh boy, Joe,
did you hear the man? He said? No, okay, okay, no,
sorry Joe.

Speaker 8 (01:23:55):
How about the nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
But that second question, Joe just said walking. So nothing, man,
it sucked all week, bottom blighte okay, but the only
encouraging part was he said, hey, take a Johnny jig
and dropped out for Golden So that's kind of a
save your ass for the week.

Speaker 8 (01:24:13):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:24:13):
So Nor thanks to that bank. Great report, man, I
can't wait for the next one. It was that great.

Speaker 8 (01:24:19):
Okay, but thank you amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:24:21):
Yeah, thanks Norman, Thanks door very much. Let's talk our
friend Johnny Johnny Stabill. John told us he's been on
the lakes many times with the Johnny jig, that micro
thing you got there and slay the peace with them man, right.

Speaker 8 (01:24:40):
Yeah, Johnny, Johnny's got a story for sure. Let's hear
about it.

Speaker 2 (01:24:44):
He Johnnybody, Hey, what's up?

Speaker 8 (01:24:47):
Johnny?

Speaker 2 (01:24:49):
Johnny Square, Hey, Johnny, So what's up? Johnny.

Speaker 15 (01:24:54):
Hey, by the way, happy birthday, Joe.

Speaker 8 (01:24:58):
Thanks brother.

Speaker 2 (01:24:59):
I appreciate it. Those number forty three do the yeah yeah. Anyway,
So what's been happening, Johnny. A lot of our caps
said the fishing was slow for them this week. Alan
talked about his bass fishing the week, said spots, some
floaters the glades. What's on your list this week?

Speaker 15 (01:25:20):
Yeah, you know there.

Speaker 41 (01:25:21):
I've heard of a lot of floaters and dead peacocks,
but I've also seen some people catch them this week.

Speaker 37 (01:25:30):
I actually pulled my back out a couple of days
ago and I.

Speaker 41 (01:25:34):
Had to cancel my trips for this weekend, so I
don't really have anything to look forward to. I'm just
sitting around on a heating pad. But I do think
as we get into you know, the next week, it's
supposed to warm up and not really see too many
more of those severe cold fronts, I think we're going

(01:25:56):
to see some better fishing.

Speaker 37 (01:25:57):
I mean, I've seen a lot of guys.

Speaker 41 (01:26:00):
I run a peacock bash group on Facebook that's got
twenty three thousand people in it, and you see people
posting in there, you know, from like Folk, Deerfield.

Speaker 37 (01:26:13):
Pomp Ando, all the way up to Lake Eye, a
palm beach, and they're all catching fish right now, so,
you know, and it's been nice and warm in the afternoons,
which is getting that water temperature up and hopefully we
don't see too many more floaters. But you know, as
we get into you.

Speaker 41 (01:26:31):
Know, February, we start to kind of feel that spring
weather fish is going to be outstanding and I'm looking
forward to that.

Speaker 8 (01:26:39):
A lot awesome.

Speaker 5 (01:26:41):
How about any other exotics being caught other than the peacocks,
how about the clown knives?

Speaker 41 (01:26:47):
Yeah, actually, I've seen a couple of my buddies. They've
actually caught a fairmunt of snakeheads during.

Speaker 37 (01:26:52):
Some of the colder weather that we had, some of
the like really cold stuff.

Speaker 41 (01:26:57):
But definitely we've seen some snakeheaits, caught plenty of clown
knife and you know, most of the guys on Lake
either they're just pushing the you know, the large.

Speaker 37 (01:27:07):
Mouth fastening right now.

Speaker 41 (01:27:09):
Okay, I don't think that they're necessarily trying to catch peacocks.
I just think they're accepting the fact that they're going
to be catching large's mouth until that water temperature gets
back in the mid seventies and where everybody's real happy, right.

Speaker 2 (01:27:25):
What's the coldest that got the water temperature? Did you do?

Speaker 13 (01:27:28):
You know?

Speaker 41 (01:27:30):
The coldest picture that I saw of water temperature was
like fifty six in the Everglades, which is.

Speaker 37 (01:27:39):
Dangerously cold.

Speaker 41 (01:27:40):
I didn't, thankfully, hear any reports of dead fish in
the Everglades.

Speaker 2 (01:27:47):
Okay, I'm sure there was. Yeah. I think Alan mentioned that,
didn't he, Eric, Eric? Yeah there, yeah. Here I'm watching
Stephen take my donuts off the set. Good, okay, you
get chocolate overhand. You look like you're like ten whatever.
Madge continue on, Well, did you hear what I said?
I heard it.

Speaker 7 (01:28:06):
The reason I moved the donuts is you were blocking
the mercury and even worse than Johnny Jiggs. Oh, Matt,
and when you've got the boss man from Johnny Jiggs here,
you don't.

Speaker 2 (01:28:15):
Want to cover that. We have Johnny to Bill holding
he's our guess, right, I just get off me. Okay,
So what I was saying was, didn't Alan say that
there was dead fish in the Everglades? Yes? If you listened, Yeah,
well I'm just confirming with you. Yeah, yeah, okay, So yeah,
Johnny he did see it. But yeah, fifty that's super cold.

Speaker 8 (01:28:36):
It's not good.

Speaker 2 (01:28:36):
But hey, I think we're out of it, right.

Speaker 41 (01:28:39):
Uh yeah, I mean, you know, sometimes we get that
little sneaky cold week or two in March, but hopefully
that's it. I don't think I can deal with any
more dead peacocks. I mean, it's been every every year
for the last few years, and normally we don't really
get that severe winner to really kill a bunch of fish.

(01:29:01):
So weird, really messing with my livelihood over here, Mother Nature.

Speaker 2 (01:29:06):
Johnny you want, but you're young, You're super young guy, Man,
but you are more hurt than most guys i've met. Man,
you got a bad back. You gotta lowering your lip
of me. Dude, Are you like me, actually prone? Because
I definitely am a clutch.

Speaker 14 (01:29:20):
No, I mean I'm really not. I you know, I'll
tell you how it happened.

Speaker 41 (01:29:25):
I took my dog to the vet and I was
out after the appointment. We was loading her back in
the truck and she jumped up and then started to
fall back and I like reached in, you know, really fast,
and all of a sudden, I can breathe.

Speaker 8 (01:29:41):
Oh that's the worst.

Speaker 15 (01:29:44):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (01:29:45):
By the way, we reached a new level of low
on the show. Eric Brandon is now eating while on
the air, which is like the big thing you're doing.

Speaker 2 (01:29:51):
You know, I decid, what are you doing? I excided
for twenty five to break the curse and start eating.
So yeah, that's just can't you wait? Can't you wait?
What is this? What are you doing? Whatever? You're on
your mouth hearing poor guy, he said, his car with
his dog and he watched his back out. Man, that

(01:30:12):
was a conversation not about me with donus my mouth. Okay,
you got John? Can we hope you feel better? Johnny?

Speaker 37 (01:30:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (01:30:18):
John, thank you?

Speaker 6 (01:30:19):
I hate Johnny real quick. On the tarp in front,
how's that going?

Speaker 37 (01:30:25):
Actually, the tartin have been outstanding.

Speaker 41 (01:30:27):
The shrimp run is really going off of Miami, and
there's plenty of tarpin nice you know, even some snook
around to be caught down there. So you know that
that Miami tarpain by that night is it goes off
the chain this time of the year. And we actually
had a couple that wanted to just do a shrimping

(01:30:48):
trip and it was fun. You know, they just scooped
shrimp all night. Uh, build up a five million bucket
and they probably have shrimp to feed the village at
least for the next six months.

Speaker 2 (01:30:59):
Cool cool, well, johny way to rock the clock man.
But hey, feel better, Matgage. You're back up and running
and get back here to do your charter business because

weekend you guys have had in weeks as far as
and sky conditions and everything combined. You're gonna love this forecast.
You have mostly sunny skies. The Hin your seventy eight Today,
southeast winds five to ten sees one to two feet
in our east of water is a light chop. Tomorrow

(01:36:54):
mostly sunny Hiner seventy seven east wins five to ten
sees less than two feet their coasts of water is

Speaker 2 (01:38:03):
Coop and Kate will have a great time doing that.
Mat you drop these jigs down, you work them as
Johnny will show you and tell you on his YouTube channel,
and you work them kind of up and down. They
flutter a little bit and thanks fishing either the bottom
of the way down, run away up and they get
some nice fish and there's no life.

Speaker 49 (01:38:19):
Basically you do like near the reefs and stuff.

Speaker 8 (01:38:22):
Sometimes yeah yeahs yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:38:28):
I think we have done that.

Speaker 49 (01:38:29):
Actually, it's so fun because you have like several different
hooks on the line and then you just kind of
go up and down and fish bite it and it's
so great.

Speaker 2 (01:38:37):
You describe it, well, Jen, just that easy. Yeah, she

Take thought, how about that.

Speaker 37 (01:39:24):
Season?

Speaker 49 (01:39:24):
But as of right now, it doesn't look like there's
anything significant.

Speaker 2 (01:39:28):
That is Atlanta still chilly there?

Speaker 49 (01:39:32):
No, we're back up into like the sixties now.

Speaker 37 (01:39:35):

(01:40:10):
great weekend. We love you to death. Okay, bye, Jed

show live. It's going to be seventy eight degrees. His
name was Harry Klegg. He bought a both from me
last week. Nice bought a little Maco skiff Okay, and
this poor guy what a story man? Talk about weather Joe.
He left last weekend from Kentucky and it was just

(01:40:34):
meg on the roads and ice. And this poor guy
drove eighty five thousand hours had come down to buy
a boat from me. Sight unseen of my dad. Okay,
never saw the boat and took my word for it.
That's pretty brave. Yeah, took the boat. Stop it now
was this guy's named Harry leg stop at steven. He's
a great guy, liked the boat, saw the boat, went

(01:40:54):
all the way back to Kentucky waiting for the one
of the thought to finally use it. But he's actually
check out our show on the live feet awesome, So Harry,
thank you very much man for being a great guy
on the show. Have for buying your boats from your
buddy you know who the greatest boat shoals went on
the planet st anyway, So we got a to kill here, Johnny,

(01:41:16):
Johnny jigs man. Guy wants to learn how to do it.
Let's says brand brand of the show. Watch it, whip
out a jig and do it. How does you buy one,
get one and use one?

Speaker 8 (01:41:26):
Okay, tell me, man, I think like for entry level
like a guy like just starting off, Like the best
thing to do would be buy a combo like get
go to Johnny Jake dot com, get one of our combos,
one of our entry level combos yeh rod real line.
Some of them even come with a few jigs and
then and then couple that with what we call our

(01:41:49):
adventure pack, and the adventure pack will basically cover all
the terminal tackle and the tool that you need to
successfully slope his chicks. So those two things and you're
on the water. I mean essentially you could even do
it cheaper than that, but I would say for under
and under five hundred bucks, you can you could be
pretty much fully set up to go out and.

Speaker 2 (01:42:10):
Jake on your videos, you actually show up how to
do basically what I want.

Speaker 8 (01:42:15):
Oh yeah, everything, I mean everything from tying the leader
to the to the braid, to bringing the jig to
the technique. I mean everything is in those videos.

Speaker 2 (01:42:27):
Just teach Joe how to use your jigs back when
you gets I'm not asking a very nice question. I'm
asking I'm not sure if Joe had the technic property
that you tune you up a little bit and get
a little a little more skilled.

Speaker 8 (01:42:39):
I've invited Joe fishing times.

Speaker 2 (01:42:43):
Joe, that path, Joe. I'm just asking you know, I.

Speaker 8 (01:42:48):
Love to get I'm sure he'd be a natural at it.
Just kind of kick the guy on the water.

Speaker 2 (01:42:52):
I'm sure he'd be a natural out of Joe. Just
go and show up and fish. You're just as bad.
I work seven days a week. Here we go. You
don't work on Sunday. Johnny and I we do need
to go out.

Speaker 8 (01:43:05):
We need to go and fish.

Speaker 2 (01:43:06):

all of a sudden became super accomplished. Oh yeah, it's
by trying it and watching some of your viids or
whatever else. Oh yeah, well, super novice and then started
getting just some big ass fish.

Speaker 8 (01:43:33):
Yes, yes, yes, And I've seen a lot of guys
just on their first days out just absolutely crush it
and get hooked. And and then you know, experience that
over and over and over again and say, you know,
it's a it's an addiction. That's where you don't want
to you don't want to finish any other way.

Speaker 2 (01:43:50):
You just get hooked on jigging, right and Joe have
your turnam. Guys got turned on the jigs though, Oh yeah,
really big jiggers. Oh my gosh, pretty much all of them. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:43:58):
And I can attest to the addiction part because you know,
I see it guys like Doug and Sean and guys
that have fished my tournaments for years myself when I
went out there and did high speed jigging and caught
five blackfin like.

Speaker 2 (01:44:13):
You just get addicted to it, five blackin Yeah, Johnny,
no live bait, Yeah, nice man. Maybe t have a
tournament at one time. It could be just all lead
no live yeah, thinking about it. Yeah, sponsor it? Well, sure,
I'll be the check writer job my own division. Okay, Okay,
Johnny chigs only Eric will right up a big fat check.

(01:44:37):

Speaker 2 (01:50:24):

Speaker 2 (01:51:05):
Wow, she great and what man?

Speaker 8 (01:51:07):
Yea?

Speaker 2 (01:51:07):
Everything she does she gets on board It demonstrates these things. Yeah,
she's good, Hally. She mentioned the popularity of inflatables. I
don't know about the popularity and inflatables for many years now,
you know, and a whole other Oh yeah, you know
he's going down under anyway, wrap it, show up real quick.

(01:51:28):
We have a chance to Sarah Alaska by to Johnny
Stetup from ny dot com. Uh, we asked you before
the break about novice anglers and learning Joe as we
talked about from basically nothing to accomplished. Sure, he made
a comment about the fact that when they first die,
that first hook up to look on her faces like
priceless man.

Speaker 8 (01:51:46):
Right, Yeah, it's intense, you know because whenever you whenever
you hook up on a jig, it's it's not like
bait where you're you get the bite, you let a
little line pay out, or you've got it sitting in
the road holder. It's it's it is very instant, and
it is violent, and it is everything that you want
when you're fishing, and that's what makes jigging so much fun.

Speaker 2 (01:52:06):
Josh, see some of these Rosy's got man, you have
one rod brand where actually this line goes up through
the bank. Man yeah, and not the tip, but there's
no there's no rod eyes, which mean just blows my mind.
And now you explain to me the reason behind it,
because now the line has nothing get tangled on, right. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:52:24):
Yeah, So that's a rod made by Temple Reef, which
is a prominent brand in the slow pitch jinging world.
And yeah, it literally goes in through the blank. So
what what that helps with is it it keeps you
from having tip. You never tip wrap, right, So that's
a big deal when we're out jigging. Is the line
blows over top of the blank, it wraps up into

(01:52:46):
your guides. Yeah, you know, and if you get a
fish on while you're wrapped in your guides, that the
fish takes the guides with it.

Speaker 2 (01:52:53):
It's just so whacked to be Joe to be thinking
about hooking a fifty pound where the line that's going
through a blank. Yeah, with no fish, you know they'll
fishing eyes on it, per se. Oh yeah, and you're
battling to stay with this rod and there's no freaking eyes.
Weird to me. Yeah, you know, I know it takes
a second for the brain to like compute it, right,
you know, they are they getting more popular people actually

(01:53:13):
catch on.

Speaker 8 (01:53:14):
That I think they are. You know, it's it's nothing new.
Guys were I think Dioed did this many many many
years ago, and guys were using it as like goggle
eye rods and stuff like that. But using it in
the world of slow pitch jigging totally new and and
I think it is catching on because it's it's just
it's a solution to a problem, you know, whenever you're

(01:53:35):
out jigging, and that's what we want stuff to work.

Speaker 2 (01:53:37):
And it just works. Before we go, Man, we have
like a minute and a half. So how did you
two guys ever connect? The hookup?

Speaker 8 (01:53:42):
Man? Uh? Joe Joe? I knew about the Extreme Kayak
Fishing tournament because Sean Rolls used to come into our
shop all the time, so I knew about Joe and
I've seen him on the social media. And then you
think our.

Speaker 2 (01:53:56):
Social media, Yeah, yeah, I what a surprise that is Joe?

Speaker 8 (01:53:59):
And then I and then I hit forty. I hit forty,
and I decided to start going to the gym again
because I wasn't shaven weight the way I used to.
And then I ran into Joe there, so so I
knew I knew about him. I think he knew about Austin.
It just kind of worked out that way.

Speaker 2 (01:54:14):
Yeah, and then we hit it off from about the
show and yeah everything extreme series. Yeah, you guys would
make a great marriage basically, not literally, but yeah we
got married a great marriage, business marriage obviously. So they
work great with the tournaments. You're a great sponsor now
in the program. So Joe hooked up said, day, you know, Johnny,
we have a show that you might want to be on.

Speaker 25 (01:54:35):

Speaker 8 (01:54:35):
Yeah, you know, I couldn't turn it down.

Speaker 6 (01:54:37):

Speaker 2 (01:54:40):

we'll shake your hand. Brother. Thanks again, Joe, great show, happy, yeah, happy,
