Speaker 8 (01:28):

Don't you feeling?
Speaker 3 (01:31):

a big smile. You like his smile.
Speaker 9 (01:37):
Nothing moved.
Speaker 6 (01:38):
I can't see I stop it.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
I talked to some caps last week, ind but not
uh last night. I had some issues with this thing.
So I don't know what Jim was gonna say, but
I'm bleeding your turn to Uh, well, good join me.
Uh bring him up, man, bring him up with your
special skills joke, because it's time to get the show
roll in your show.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
His name is Jimbo. He is a Jimbo. He's Jim
and he is a fisherman. Well, Jim, I apologize, he's
got a.
Speaker 7 (02:09):
We're back to Copa again. What's up?
Speaker 2 (02:12):
But that terrible he just pops in my mind.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
I can't I apologize when I think of I think
of Copa and and you know you're saying you're.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
Actually comparing him to bury man of him. Okay, one
of the one of the one of the whimpiest guys
on the planet. He probably could you know that crank
over a real.
Speaker 6 (02:31):
You don't know that he could be the strongest guy
in the world.
Speaker 7 (02:33):
Have you ever seen him? No, he's pretty wimpy. I
think Eric is correct.
Speaker 10 (02:39):
You guys, come on, don't beheart you. How many women
love Barry? You wish you could get all that action?
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Okay?
Speaker 7 (02:50):
I think he's a little light in the loafers.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
I think you're swinging at the other fencer.
Speaker 11 (02:55):
How would you How would you know that?
Speaker 3 (02:57):
I went, yeah, okay, So Jembo, welcome the shellfishly my friend.
How has your week? Bet it's been kind of blustery
and weird days weatherwise.
Speaker 12 (03:06):
Yeah, the last couple of days blowing like crazy. Earlier
in the week it was some decent weather and inefficients.
Just it's still not great. The few days that the
conditions are right, that's been some blue water and north current.
There's been some sales around. And then earlier in the
(03:27):
week there was a weed line out in about seven
eight hundred feet of water. A couple of the guys
did very good on dolphin on it, and then a
bunch of the guys did not do very good.
Speaker 7 (03:37):
So the guys that did.
Speaker 12 (03:38):
Good found something floating, like one of the guys found
a palette. Think he ended up catching about fifteen or
eighteen dolphins.
Speaker 7 (03:46):
Nothing big but.
Speaker 12 (03:47):
Decent schoolies, which I'll take that any day of the week.
But if you weren't the guy that found that palette
or that lag or whatever it might be first, then
you were out of luck pretty much. But anything floating
has also had wahoo's under it. Now we've got wind yesterday,
we got win today. Everything's gonna change obviously, so that
(04:13):
weed line's probably gone. But with this east wind, if
they're already dolphin is going to push them right up
onto the edge and closed. But like yesterday, I was
out with a couple of boats that were out, to
my knowledge, did not have any dolphin bites, but they
had salefish bites and a couple of black and tuna bytes,
So it wasn't too bad. If you wanted to brave
(04:33):
the high seage yesterday and probably be more of the
same today. You know, I'm not going out. My people
had better judgment and says no, we're not going out
when it's blowing twenty miles an hour or twenty knots,
And I said, thank you.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
Well, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Go ahead, you want to
go first, youth, before age, please help yourself, go ahead
before beauty. Just jumping all the airs.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
We have a running here.
Speaker 5 (05:03):
Okay, yea yeah, okay, jim O, Now I forgot what
was going to say. Oh wait, no, I got it.
Any size, any size to the black.
Speaker 7 (05:11):
Fan steroids up to about eighteen pounds, i'd say. So
they're getting a little better, so some decent ones.
Speaker 12 (05:20):
Not I haven't heard of any of those thirty pounders
like we catch in May or towards the end of April,
but they could be showing up any day now. But
the the black fins have all been caught. All the
bigger ones at least have been caught on my beats.
Speaker 7 (05:39):
Now.
Speaker 12 (05:39):
There's been a lot of smaller ones caught like footballs
on some of the deeper recks and also around that
Miami hump on jigs. But a lot of those recks,
you know, the sharks just kill you. So you're enough
feeding the sharks more than anything. But so on on
speed jigs, and you know, Johnny Jiggs whatever, Jake you.
Speaker 7 (06:01):
You off for.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
We do I know that, Yes we do, Yes we do.
Question they're eating you were trying to?
Speaker 7 (06:10):
All right, another one.
Speaker 5 (06:12):
You already have to follow up to you. I couldn't
even jump in. You have to follow up your follow up.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
I'll allow you to go a profession of being a
professional captain of my dad, jim Oo. Somebody books you
for a weekend, right and say, for maybe twelve hours
before the trip they canceled on you. Is there a
thing where you kind of keep their money or you
refund them for another.
Speaker 12 (06:33):
Day or it all depends what the situation is.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
I'm asking Stevin just ransom kind of a crazy ass
sound effect.
Speaker 10 (06:40):
That's a loser horn because that's a losing inoration for everybody.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
I'm asking him what the what the policy is?
Speaker 7 (06:46):
Man?
Speaker 3 (06:46):
I don't know.
Speaker 12 (06:47):
So we all have different policies. Mine, Like, right now,
it's blowing. It's rough out there right twenty five or
thirty years ago, I'd say let's go, let's go, and
I'll still go. But I'm saying when it blowing like this, said, man,
it's going to be rough out there. If you guys
are seaworthy and you want to go, let's go. If
you don't want to go, you're not going to hurt
(07:07):
my feelings.
Speaker 7 (07:09):
Now.
Speaker 12 (07:09):
Twenty five or thirty years ago, i'd say let's go. Now,
I'm like, I don't need to go beat my brains
out what little brains I got left at least.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
A feelings about your pocket book, man, I mean.
Speaker 12 (07:21):
Well, so no, I don't take your money. If they
have a deposit, well we'll hold it over to rebook.
But no, because you know, if it's obviously rough. Now,
if it's a nice day and they called the last minute, oh,
you know, I can't make it. You know, I stuff
my toe or something like that, I'm like, well that
(07:42):
doesn't work.
Speaker 7 (07:42):
You know. If I can rebook, then great, but otherwise
you're losing a deposit at the very least. Any I
have excuses like as somebody a couple of weeks ago,
Oh yeah, I had a family emergency.
Speaker 12 (07:56):
I can't make it. And You'm like, all right, well,
and it's people that have been out with me in
the past, so I can't say, you know, fu and
then they never go back out with me again. So
I'm like, okay, you know, whether it's BS or or not,
you know who knows.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Have you ever had like somebody come down maybe they
look like Eric or something like. You know what, just
take your deposit back, guys, it's all good.
Speaker 7 (08:19):
Yeah, I just say no wrong boat.
Speaker 6 (08:24):
Hey, Jimbo.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
So I remember Benny told us a story with like
a crazy story with one of his charters where the
guy brought a fly rod and.
Speaker 6 (08:32):
He wouldn't part with it. He like held it the
whole trip and then he like let out.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Was one of the greatest sers ever man.
Speaker 6 (08:38):
So my question to you is, what's your crazy story?
Have you ever had a.
Speaker 13 (08:42):
Guy like like that?
Speaker 7 (08:45):
Oh? I've had so many?
Speaker 12 (08:50):
Well, indeed, he put me on the spot here. You know,
I've been doing this for forty forty four years now
and I've had so many people in and out.
Speaker 7 (09:01):
Uh.
Speaker 12 (09:04):
You know, I'm gonna think about it and I'll have
a good answer for you next week.
Speaker 7 (09:08):
Right now, got on the top.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
That's a great way.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
That's a great tease, great question Joe that he can't
answer right now because if we had had an answer,
he would have gone on for ten minutes.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Okay, that's true because he brought whatever else.
Speaker 6 (09:22):
But we can't forget about this. We got to put
him on the spot.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
I was gonna be some guy brought a little kids
zebco trying to troll for tuna or something.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
You know.
Speaker 7 (09:30):
Oh, I've had you know, bring it their own.
Speaker 12 (09:32):
Let me bring Do you mind if I bring my
fish and rough like, I.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Don't care, And I've got Jimbo.
Speaker 7 (09:39):
I've got top of the line stuff on my bow.
You know.
Speaker 12 (09:42):
We got pin reels from head to toe and they
bring some crappy zepco or something like, Hey, you want
to use it, knock yourself out.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
But I gotta tell you something.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Joe just gave me the most puzzling look when I
said zeb He doesn't even know what a zeb is.
Speaker 5 (09:56):
Jimbo I think he said zeppelin. I said, oh, come on, man,
I said zebco. You knuckle ahead.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
What is Joe?
Speaker 7 (10:05):
Tell me, Joe, do you know what his zebo is?
Speaker 14 (10:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (10:07):
It's a rot.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
No, it's not a run. It's a reel with a
closed plastic cap. Okay, with a pushbus.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Is that really you had one?
Speaker 6 (10:16):
A yeah, that's what you brought last week.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
I did have one.
Speaker 7 (10:20):
Yeah, so why both of us? That was probably our
very first fishing reel. Thank you, because back in the
day they cost about three dollars if that's it, and
after one blue gill you ms well throw at the dumpster.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
They were cheaply made, my brother. They're probably still available
out of line somewhere.
Speaker 6 (10:39):
Why why are you making fun of my fishing guy?
I sat up here? Who's that?
Speaker 3 (10:44):
I just want to Steve his night person.
Speaker 7 (10:45):
I've got a brand new one in the rappers.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Still my name is Steve, all right.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
But it ain't you know. All right? Well, thank you waters,
thank you very much.
Speaker 12 (10:53):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Well, Jim, I'll let you go back to your thing.
You said you're not you're not taking a flyer up.
You're fishing today somehow, some way.
Speaker 7 (10:59):
Uh, we're actually at We're doing to crawl fish boiled today,
so we're gonna be eating crawd ads and beverages. Good
day for that.
Speaker 15 (11:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
They when I first moved to Florida at one of
those bars in beach place, you know beach places when
they used to have things in there, and they had
like a big contest at the restaurant up top, and
but they were spicy, and I ended up winning the contest,
but man, it was not worth it.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
So for the most eating me, you actually chod down
on more than anybody else.
Speaker 6 (11:34):
Oh yeah, and then they came out just as fast.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
You pull the jail beat off the head. I heard,
we got fast. I caught that. Do you actually put
the head of the crawd out of your mouth? That
sucked the head like a lot of guys do.
Speaker 12 (11:48):
Of course, that's the only way you can eat those things.
Speaker 7 (11:50):
You got it.
Speaker 6 (11:50):
That was part of the rules.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
So like they had a judge standing behind each person
and you had to like suck the head out and
do it the right way or else they pedalized.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
I can't. I've had crawdads, but I've never done the
head sucking.
Speaker 10 (12:03):
I'm noticing a trend on the show if you're talking
about sucking something or tatas the segment goes long.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
Eric, Yeah, well, because that's one of my favorite topics. Steve,
so jimall have a real sucky day, okay, and will do.
Speaker 7 (12:18):
Thank you guys.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
We'll talk next Saturday with my friend.

that's what my husband did before I married him? What
kind of a guy that I actually hook up?
Speaker 6 (12:37):
Well, no, I was gonna say something else, but then
I just I saw that.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
I'm like, well, you never hold back on the show.
Say what you want to say.
Speaker 6 (12:43):
Man, Well I brought a date when I had that contact.

I'll go back a little more so, Jude, Marty last
for a while and you just gotta call it quits.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Huh whatever?
Speaker 6 (17:50):
She never saw me after that day again?
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Oh you have a check named Marty.
Speaker 6 (17:54):
I was in the bathroom.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
How was her mustag? A nice Harry mustache?
Speaker 6 (17:58):
Where is a fairly moderate copy? Yes, okay, I had
a little twirl.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
You want to go into that a little bit further.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
And though, let's get back on point talking about this
guy who catches every snakehead and just gets larger by
the week.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
I saw it's the photos. The last couple of weeks
he's been doing gigantic peacock which they're just monstrous, man,
I know, man, huge, huge, huge, and somebody's screaming over
here on the set.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Yeah, that's my ex. If you see her, don't let
her in.
Speaker 5 (18:24):
God it was that noise, man. But anyway, it's a
goose or geese. Goose you say goose is one? Yeah,
Cory Norakowski, the man broke his own record twice here
keeps saying twice, sir, it was eight times you call me, sir,
gat I'm.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
A punch of the face. Okay, ma'am, thank you. I
make that over over, sir Corey. How are you, buddy?
Good one to see you?
Speaker 30 (18:49):
I am good. How are you guys?
Speaker 6 (18:51):
See I got your back, Corey?
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Yeah, eight times sneakhad, Yeah, yeah, eight time.
Speaker 7 (18:57):
See.
Speaker 4 (18:58):
Well when I just go for a twelve pack, just
go keep bagging away at it broad all right, just
keep yep, all right.
Speaker 30 (19:03):
Yeah, okay, yeah, that would be that would be nice.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
Okay, Corey, you're a very laid back guy. I kind
of like your your attitude back at laid back and
like it's two idiots here. Anyway, what's been the world
of Corey? Like this week man, peacocks, sneak kids, cod bowl.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
I bet.
Speaker 30 (19:21):
It's been that well, it's even been large mouth too,
along with the stake heading peacocks. Mostly see the large
mouths went out the Everglades that was Saturday, and it
did pretty good out there. We got him up to
six and a half pounds.
Speaker 12 (19:41):
Uh.
Speaker 30 (19:42):
Waters large getting low getting low out there. I mean
pretty much most of that out there right now is
you know, Holiday Park, saw grass.
Speaker 7 (19:52):
Uh.
Speaker 30 (19:53):
You know, any anything out there right now is getting low.
So it's a really good time to go out there
bass fishing. You know where I was, where I'm going
is just the reservoir that's just south of Kachobe. That's
getting low too. That's you should get the bigger fish there.
I mean how holiday you'll get. There's some good ones there,
but that's getting just pounded right now with people. You know,
(20:14):
if you want to go deal with the crowds. I
don't really want to deal with that.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
But well, the good good lake any weekend you'll see
crowds quite often.
Speaker 30 (20:22):
Yeah, that's that's why I don't go there because that's
but ready to throw stuff at them.
Speaker 4 (20:30):
But you remember the Glades water was so high for
so long, Joe and now Corey saying has finally gone
way down. So when the water management pump that stuff
out or how to get load so quickly.
Speaker 7 (20:40):
Yeah. Yeah, well.
Speaker 30 (20:43):
It has rain. I mean that's a big thing. It's
it's i mean it's that time of the year. It's springtime,
so you know, the water starts getting low out there,
and everything starts getting concentrated in the canals and wherever
you go, you know, lakes or anything. I mean, everything
starts getting concentrated. So it's a good time to you know,
to really bang out lot of numbers and even big fish.
You know, you get into them.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
So waters being better fishing or higher water levels are better.
Speaker 30 (21:06):
Fishing, low low water especially, I mean for the for
that in the Everglades, that's that's good. That's always the best.
I mean that's for years. That's always been that way.
Where you'll catch I mean, you get if you get
it right, and you can catch a hundred and two
hundred baths in a day, you get into the right Yeah,
I mean, granted sometimes you may not catch one over
four pounds, but you'll you know, you'll catch a ton
(21:29):
of fish just along with everything else, both in gar
or whatever.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
If it break my zep go out there and tossed
like a rubber lure off that thing. I guess you
catch a bass baby somehow.
Speaker 7 (21:40):
Whatever.
Speaker 30 (21:41):
If you if you throw on a rooster tail or
a crappy jig, you'll probably catch every fish in the
Everglades on that thing.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
So you do know what is right? Great to say, Yeah,
no I do. But he's not. I I'm not a
hater of a company man. What are you talking about?
Speaker 30 (22:00):
Actually, get I've gotten a few customers that have actually
brought those for snakeheads, and I'm like, yeah, that's not
really gonna work.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
Tell guys.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
Plastic a closed reels that have a flimsy like bals
of wood rod, okay to catch snakeheads. Yeah, yeah, that's
a crazy story.
Speaker 5 (22:18):
Can you Corey, do you have a story of like
a guy that literally like wouldn't use anything else?
Speaker 6 (22:24):
Is that all he used?
Speaker 7 (22:27):
Well?
Speaker 30 (22:28):
No, I I got him to use the spinning rod.
I had to show him how to use it and
how to teach him. So I said, look, you're not
You're not going to catch one of these things, especially
to get a big one. It's just gonna it's gonna
tear that thing apart. You're not gonna have a chance.
Speaker 6 (22:41):
So you had to show to use the spinning rod.
Speaker 7 (22:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
Yeah, some people have no skills.
Speaker 6 (22:48):
All right, you know what, I'm out. I'm not doing this.
I'll see you guys later. That's it.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
I'm done stage show.
Speaker 4 (22:54):
Help the helpless, Okay, our first time, it's not the
first tibers on the show.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Alert how to fish?
Speaker 31 (23:00):
You know?
Speaker 5 (23:01):
Okay, come on, it's it's just real. You know, my
dogs five and I didn't even show her and she
just started reeling it.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
Okay. You know what my biggest challenge is courting at Joe.
I cannot master the bake caster okay, and that's hard.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
I get like these spider webs and gucked up line
and just that backlash.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Comes in and what a mess.
Speaker 7 (23:23):
Man.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
Those are tricky. The cast, it's a tricky.
Speaker 30 (23:26):
Yeah, it's a cast. Yeah, I agree that the biggest
thing with it is the biggest thing is your thumb.
Once you get to your thumb is your break.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
That's what the thumb is everything.
Speaker 7 (23:36):
Yeah, yeah, it's I.
Speaker 30 (23:38):
Mean, I've I have I have mine tunes so wide
open that I've had customers use them and they're like,
I forget to say, you know, oh you want to
adjust it to what you want to use. And first
cast is a giant birds nest, So then I got
to adjust it. And I'm like, oh, yeah, that's right,
you got to adjust that because I got it like
wide open. I can cast it three hundred miles.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
So yeah, actually take a clisse out to fish and
also teaches them how to how to use equipment at
the same time.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
That's pretty cool, right Corey.
Speaker 30 (24:05):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but uh yeah. The snakehead bites
and good too.
Speaker 7 (24:11):
It's been big.
Speaker 30 (24:13):
I got one last week. It was almost eleven pounds,
so they're they're getting bigger. That's that's getting better. As
long as we get some rain and that water comes up,
that'll start really happening too. Water is low, it's like
in the glades is low everywhere.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
What's your favorite rod to use for fresh water fishing?
Speaker 3 (24:31):
Man? Just like like a brand or just a just favorite.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
What's your favorite one?
Speaker 3 (24:36):
Man?
Speaker 30 (24:37):
My mine's a bay caster. I'm a I'm a bay
caster guy. I've I've always had been.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
I've I.
Speaker 30 (24:44):
You just I skip when you're like snakehead fishing, or
I can skip that frog or anything under a tree
or a dock, and but I just like the distance
you get. I can bomb a cast, you know, super
far with a bay caster if you get it tuned right.
And uh, I don't know, I just that's my I
like spinner rods too, but bay caster.
Speaker 7 (25:05):
Is my favorite.
Speaker 5 (25:07):
Man, the trickiest one of all. Joe, he likes that
one is yeah, real man, it's not surprised.
Speaker 30 (25:13):
And the biggest thing to do, the biggest thing to
do to get better at is take like a little weight,
like a weight on the on the end of your
just tie it to your line. Just swinging around the yard.
That's how you get good at casting. It just practice
makes perfect.
Speaker 7 (25:27):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
One really random question because there's one thing I can't
also learn. This one's always been puzzledly for years. Joe,
did you ever throw a cast net Corey ever?
Speaker 30 (25:39):
To be honest with you, I never have, And I
just because I am not. I just I'm not a
live bait fishermen. And I just I mean, if if
any time I ever do, I ever I go to
a bait shop and grab shiners for clients or something
if we ever have to, But I never have. I
just I've never had to use for it. I'm an
artificial guy. It's how I was.
Speaker 5 (26:00):
Leve and talk and figure those things out. To save
my ass, Like really, I can't thee Yeah, the smaller one,
I'm not good with the bigger Make a nice big spread, yeah.
Speaker 6 (26:11):
Man, I used to do it all the time when
I would fish.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
Off the next Saturday. I want to see you throw
it out the doctor.
Speaker 6 (26:15):
I will have one because my I don't have one anymore.
Speaker 4 (26:18):
Well, you know, like everything else on the show, I'll
buy you one. I mean everything I do on this show.
Make sure make I bought your star Trek shirt last
week and I love it.
Speaker 6 (26:26):
Thank you. I wear it everywhere.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
I bet you don't. Well, Corey, you head out today
matter or stay at home? What are you doing, buddy,
I'm uh heading out?
Speaker 30 (26:36):
Uh heading out now. I got a couple of guys
that I'm taking out today for snakeheads and possibly some peacocks.
Maybe a little bit so at a full day.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
So standing man, I got a I got a quick
question for Corey.
Speaker 5 (26:48):
So Corey, So, I took my daughter to one of
her class things outside and she does like outdoor stuff.
Speaker 6 (26:54):
It's at uh what's that park? Oh my gosh, we
quiet water. So long story short.
Speaker 5 (27:04):
You know, I've never fished there or anything like that,
but I noticed so the water was like super low,
and it cut off one of the waterways to the
main lake, and so it was like a big pond.
So I climb up on these rocks, and long story short,
I see these three peacock bass go by slowly. I
don't have anything with me, and two of them, one
(27:27):
of them was the biggest one I've ever seen.
Speaker 6 (27:29):
And these fish were like three feet down.
Speaker 5 (27:32):
Okay, and my question is now I'm just guessing, and
I've weighed these things from the tournament.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
And all that to the point, Joe, please, first of all, what's.
Speaker 5 (27:43):
The record peacock? Because I don't know. I think it's
like ten twelve pounds or something like that. This one
looked like nine pounds, and I was it's a guesstimate.
Speaker 31 (27:52):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (27:53):
I'm going to go there and try to catch one
of these things.
Speaker 31 (27:56):
But they were all.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
Four to five to nine pounds, all of them.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
What was I lost? You that?
Speaker 31 (28:03):
What?
Speaker 3 (28:03):
It was a question?
Speaker 6 (28:04):
The question is what's the record peacock?
Speaker 30 (28:07):
Well, yeah, the record is nine point Wow, it's nine
it's nine point three two. I think it's nine point
three two. I think that's it's nine point three something.
Speaker 6 (28:18):
But getting the record.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
It's just over nine pounds, you see. I mean the
example of what I put up with, okay.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Broadcast on the air to everyone who's get it. Before
you could have.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
Just asked him simply, Corey, what's the record peacock? Well, no,
you went to a nine minute set up question.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
Like what was that about?
Speaker 6 (28:35):
Well, because I don't even know.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
Corey's laughing at it because I didn't know, and I
wanted to give him a little insight story to help
our viewers that hey, there's big peacock out there right now,
and here's a spot.
Speaker 6 (28:45):
Ye okay, maybe maybe our people will appreciate that.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
I don't know. Corey was laughing at you, actually so now,
but he was laughing at you, okay, just.
Speaker 30 (28:57):
Like right now, there's there's there's there's there's some big
I mean in that area that general area over there,
there's lakes. So there's some pretty big peacocks that are
in those lakes that I could I could see it.
I mean, oh, do you hear that?
Speaker 31 (29:11):
I heard that?
Speaker 3 (29:12):
All right? Because that's a deep lake, right god.
Speaker 30 (29:16):
Yes, Yeah, there's a couple other ones around there, not
far from there that are super deep too, and they've
got some very nice fish in them. I would I
wouldn't be surprised. Yeah, I mean there's been ten pounders.
There's been in the past, and that's not recently. There's
been ten pounders college just were never they were never
certified with the state ten pounds.
Speaker 6 (29:35):
Next time hear that, I heard that.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
If I ever want to know what the more record
mind signal it is, I'll just ask the question if
I do a five hour dissertation prior to the question, Okay,
how did you do?
Speaker 6 (29:46):
Corey's laugh again? Do it again?
Speaker 3 (29:53):
I'm not making funny laugh is no better? Okay, I
have a really bad laugh anyway.
Speaker 6 (30:02):
Cory, You're a pleasure the world man.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
Yeah, sir, your.
Speaker 30 (30:05):
World record poll walk too.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
You can find that out. Yeah, there you go, Joey,
you just let up, man.
Speaker 6 (30:11):
You remember the polly walk.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
Dude, Corey, catch him up, man, do your thing and
break that record one more time. We go for number nine, baby, Okay, Thanky.
Speaker 30 (30:20):
All right, no problem, thank you guys, good weekend.
Speaker 3 (30:22):

Speaker 6 (30:23):

beautiful day, man, beautiful. Every day is a beautiful day.
You get up and around man, cool buddy, how'd you guy?
Speaker 7 (35:16):
What did you do?
Speaker 13 (35:18):
Wellized do bad?
Speaker 7 (35:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 38 (35:21):
And now we you know, we had to dig deep
into our to our arsenal of tackle. We had to
bring up the plywood kites. So just so uh, you know,
it's it's toughing a little bit, you know, but but yeah,
we we kind of stayed dock side here yesterday because
I don't like taking people out. You know, you know,
this isn't the Tower of Terror, you know, so which people.
(35:45):
It's funny people stand there at the dog and say
it looks beautiful looking at the bay.
Speaker 7 (35:50):
You know.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
I said, no, no, no, you know you don't get this.
Those white caps up but you got.
Speaker 38 (35:56):
A seventh Yes, yes, man, that's right.
Speaker 5 (35:59):
So you know, we do we do.
Speaker 7 (36:00):
We do something.
Speaker 38 (36:01):
It's a little different, and it works for all of
us in a sense is that we don't have to
kill a trip completely all the time.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
But I could have a busy day.
Speaker 38 (36:10):
I can remember during holidays and we're super busy, and
this stuff would always seem to come up to bad weather.
I got thirty forty people and I said, look, guys,
this is the deal. We're going to take you into
bay fishing, so nobody gets scared, gets hurt, whatever, and we're.
Speaker 14 (36:22):
Just going to bring up we get.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
We got a whole bunch of little light.
Speaker 38 (36:27):
Like eight pound test outfits that we use on our
birthday kids birthday parties. We use them for the youth
events I do, the teaching kids how to fish and stuff.
And I got a ton of them and yeah, I'll
get into that in a second, because it's there's a
couple of things there that some of the folks can
do out there. But anyway, we would we would take
an anchor fish into bay in the Turning Base, and
there's a few places near Fisher Island, and we catch
(36:49):
a couple of hundred grunts and little snappers and stuff,
maybe a macrol We caught a couple of bonefish.
Speaker 14 (36:54):
Back in there.
Speaker 38 (36:55):
We caught a baby tiger shark. But the point is
you've been some rods. It gets people out on the boat.
So what I started doing when I did these trips,
say hey, guys, let's how about I poke poke it
out in the ocean for just a minute. I said,
let's let's you see what it's like. I said, you know,
nobody gets sea sick in five minutes.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
But boy, yeah.
Speaker 6 (37:14):
So so when you start going out.
Speaker 38 (37:16):
You never go down in the middle, so you just
gently go down the side, but you're still really getting
up and down pretty good. And like I said, I
got a really big Carolina built boat that handles it.
But we go out, I just listen. I'm listening to
the people on the loud hailer, you know, and when
the whoops and the hollers and all the yeah, when
(37:36):
the yippie kaya slowed down and I hear the first
little groan, like, okay, folks, we're going to turn around
and go back in the bay, at which case, if
anybody was feeling bad, they started feeling better.
Speaker 3 (37:45):
But they had a blast, you know.
Speaker 31 (37:47):
For that.
Speaker 38 (37:47):
He's exhilarating just to get out in that ocean when
it's blowing hard and it's rocking, and like I said,
they don't get sick. And I actually had a trip
a while ago where we came in, we were into bayfishing,
the fish didn't want to bite. A dad with his
kids goes take cap and he says, can we go
do that again? I said, do one again. He goes,
let's go back out and do that again before we
go home. I said, everybody goes, let's go, all right,
let's do it.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
So I'm good. That's right.
Speaker 4 (38:11):
Well, you know what, what's the trick tell people about seasickness?
Because there's a trick that I've heard about this. I
don't get seasick at all about ticket drama. Meane, the
night before you fish or is it the morning of?
Because I can't.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
I don't know.
Speaker 13 (38:25):
Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 38 (38:26):
I think from from my best understanding is it's better
if you if you take it, it helps like build
up in you or help helps you develop that resistance
to the equilibrium issue if you take like, yeah, I
think so, I think so.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
I think your better morning.
Speaker 5 (38:44):
My wife gets seasick, but she always said when she
took it, uh, it would just make it so she
didn't throw up.
Speaker 6 (38:51):
She was still seasick, you know what I mean. Yeah,
but it won't it won't come out terrible.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
One of the things you're gonna get.
Speaker 3 (39:01):
Stop it.
Speaker 10 (39:01):
If you ever get that, get that way, get on deck,
get open air. Don't say yes yes.
Speaker 38 (39:10):
I got the skull a crossbones sign on there. I said,
don't go past this sign.
Speaker 3 (39:16):
Smart yeah, very smart business. Look.
Speaker 38 (39:19):
One of the points I wanted to break up really quick.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
I know, I know y'all are rushing. You got a
bunch of guys, give it advice and stuff.
Speaker 38 (39:25):
You know, we provide that short trip out in the ocean,
give you a shot maybe to catch something cool, maybe not.
But I will tell you there's some agencies and organizations,
maybe a lot of you guys and your listeners don't
don't know about that can help you do things with
your kids and with students with schools. F w C
and my under my f w C, they give away
five hundred bucks to a fish a school fishing club.
Speaker 7 (39:46):
Cool.
Speaker 38 (39:46):
All you got to do is have a school fishing
club and you apply and they've got limited funds and
they can come out take me out and it'll help
cover part of the costs.
Speaker 3 (39:53):
It's not just me.
Speaker 38 (39:54):
I'm just saying there's other other boats around as well
that will do it. But it's something that I try
to push forward to every one of my youth groups
to give them a head start on This second one.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
It's called Fish Florida. You know the license plate tag.
It's not a joke.
Speaker 7 (40:08):
Let me tell you something. Those license plates.
Speaker 38 (40:11):
Every time when you buy that, when you buy that plate,
it's going to allow a kid to fish somewhere because
they give away thousands of rods and reels to organizations
that do youth events like me. I mean, I called
them last year and you know they have funding periods
and thank god they know me because I had something
pop up with one of the commissioners and I needed
forty or fifty of them. Like in three days and
(40:34):
the director they shift them like two days later. I
couldn't believe it. You know, they got up to my house.
So bottom line, great organization, Fish Florida and it's your
fishing plate. So all you guys out there, all the
guys with boats and fishermen, man, get that plate. It
helped support what we're doing and for the future. That's
what's third thing, cruiser, Yeah, yeah, absolutely, man.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
The third thing.
Speaker 38 (40:54):
A lot of people don't know this Sea Grant. Sea
Grant will give you a sequel the fish defend this
descending devices and maybe even the hookers and stuff they'll get.
But you got to do a silly little application and
they mail it to you. So and I will tell
you this, I've been using sequelizers since day one. I've
(41:14):
never found a better way and of letting fish go.
So that's my parnts of the day for all you
folks out there. And if you want to do birthday
parties with your kids, I don't care if they're six

a wealth of knowledge.
Speaker 6 (41:34):
I love the kids stuff though, you know, I mean
that's just we need more of that. You know, there's
not a lot of fishing kids.
Speaker 3 (41:42):
Yeah, get off the phones with video games and going.
Speaker 38 (41:44):
I agree, fighting ull battle. I need help, guys, I
need I need some troopers here with me here. You
know you don't need to be behind me, but be
alongside of me, all.
Speaker 4 (42:00):
Right, Joe, bring in your bluff, buddy blot. Just give
you the sound effects. Not me, man, God, you know
the cool sound effects. I'm just getting like nothing. I'm
just blinded out here. He gives you all the special treatment.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
You are blinded out, that's sure.
Speaker 3 (42:23):
Thanks a lot of their pestil neck.
Speaker 4 (42:25):
Let's talk your great fine the assesssed fined a great
finn fan Mexican. Yeh, I said, Mexican one. The only
Jim Matthey and the Matthew Dive team. Jim Bo, Hello, Jimmy.
Speaker 8 (42:37):
Jim Hello, Hello, Hello, good are you guys? Bottles?
Speaker 4 (42:44):
I want to see your phone goes to that happy
Mickey mouse boat again like everyone's every weekend.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
It's not his phone?
Speaker 8 (42:49):
Was it good? Can you hear me now, I hear.
Speaker 3 (42:52):
It little too loud, Jim. Actually, let's go.
Speaker 39 (42:58):
So you only got a couple more days left, and
it doesn't look like it's going to be really good
weather here. The next couple of days like today is
definitely a blowout. Maybe there might be some guys get out.
Tomorrow or Monday be the last day of lobster mini
of lobster season.
Speaker 8 (43:17):
So it's been a great year. The last week or so,
I was out a lot and just a lot of shorts.
Speaker 39 (43:27):
Still a lot of shorts, but boyl boy and boy,
we definitely had.
Speaker 8 (43:31):
Some nice size ones.
Speaker 39 (43:33):
We were down to Fort Loudondale because we pretty much
I think, cleaned out pomping off. Hey, guys, guys at
the beach, we're doing it too. Twenty foot we were
in the thirty to forty foot range. I mean virtually
just a trickle to the north current, decent visibility. It
(43:55):
wasn't great. We're still at seventy four degrees. But come
April first, it's home with Buddy. There's nothing we we
know lobster, grouper and hawkfish. We have to wait until
May first, so I mean, other than some snapper and
(44:16):
then whatever so we we focus on lionfish. April is
our live fish month.
Speaker 8 (44:24):
We dedicate it.
Speaker 39 (44:26):
We take our zoo keepers, which are these tubes like
a one way, one way, little checkbow.
Speaker 7 (44:34):
Type of thing.
Speaker 39 (44:34):
We spear with just a little a little try or
five spear, but we go deep.
Speaker 8 (44:43):
We're in the eighty five to one hundred.
Speaker 39 (44:46):
That's where the big boys are, and you know, we
kind of clean up the reef a little bit. And
and there's a side benefit because they taste good.
Speaker 8 (44:55):
We like lionfish.
Speaker 39 (44:58):
As far as to eat them, you gotta know what
you're doing by handling them because they can get definitely
hurt you. But yeah, it's been a great lobster season. Yeah,
of course, we put all lobster gear away and we
wait for bibie season, which is the end of July,
so it's not that far away.
Speaker 5 (45:17):
You know, Hey, Jim, can you give people an insight
why lionfish is so catastrophic to our area, to the reefs?
Speaker 7 (45:26):
That's yeah.
Speaker 39 (45:28):
First of all, they eat a lot, they need a
lot of the little juvenile reef fish, and that's kind
of where you see them when.
Speaker 12 (45:38):
You see a healthy part of the reef and a
lot of little.
Speaker 8 (45:41):
Teeny fish, the lionfish will be in there, so that's
a really good place to look for them. And then
plus they.
Speaker 39 (45:51):
I guess replicate they you know, they're constantly doing the
wild thing, and.
Speaker 3 (46:00):
A lot of.
Speaker 39 (46:02):
We've been pretty good about keeping them under control here
in uh, you know, the Broward area for a lot
of them, because you know, you go a mile off.
Speaker 8 (46:13):
Shore, even one hundred feet, so everything's really tight here.
Speaker 7 (46:17):
But in other areas, particularly on.
Speaker 39 (46:19):
The on the west coast or north of here the islands,
they're loaded up and they're they're eating all of the
little juvenile reef fish.
Speaker 12 (46:31):
So that's that's why you gotta we gotta get rid
of them.
Speaker 3 (46:34):
Jim.
Speaker 4 (46:35):
I'd love to talk to you more, but you already
sucked down your last shot of helium.
Speaker 3 (46:42):
Okay, whatever I do.
Speaker 8 (46:44):
Night trucks, which is a higher level of loxygen.
Speaker 39 (46:50):
But yeah, look look forward to some fun, you know,
for the next a couple of weeks months in April,
and then shift gears.
Speaker 8 (47:00):
Then we just strictly spear, grouper and fish.
Speaker 3 (47:04):
All right, Jim, Thanks very much, my friend.
Speaker 4 (47:06):
Thanks Jim, Can you tell me to check it faybe
back for the last two minutes. You put me over
the clock time because you basically just ruined a break here.
But anyway, have a great deck, Jim, all right, here

Speaker 3 (53:43):
Whatever. Man, let's get out of the show here is
shot rolls on the water or not? No way? Uh no?
You never know what this guy he's really hardcore. He
could be, but I don't know. I don't think I'm
guessing as well. You can I what you think was that?
Speaker 7 (54:02):
What's going on? Guys? Morning road?
Speaker 3 (54:08):
Shot you on the water bet of your land today?
Speaker 7 (54:10):
Buddy, no way, no way, no way. Yeah, damn. Everyone's
why you got to take a break, you know. Yeah,
I'm gonna give the fish a break, you know, let them,
let them have off this weekend and next weekend and
then spring time.
Speaker 4 (54:27):
But I know, I know, between last Saturday and today,
you got to fished somehow, someway right, Nope, wait, man,
we're going striking out her.
Speaker 3 (54:35):
Joey, I've been wrong.
Speaker 7 (54:37):
Yeah wow.
Speaker 4 (54:39):
So he just gave the whole boat thing a break
and the yack of break and the rods of break. Yeah,
I did like things I called work and a job.
Speaker 7 (54:46):
Maybe, yeah. I mean, I don't want to bring up
a bad subject, but I've been riding my bicycle back
and forth to work to get my exercise in kayaking.
Gets right now.
Speaker 4 (54:56):
I know I brought the bike thing okay, because I
had a tragic accent last Saturday night where I and
I fared too many Martinez at a local restaurant riding home.
Speaker 6 (55:05):
And you're gonna tell this story, huh, I'll.
Speaker 4 (55:07):
Tell you two seconds, okay, Come on the corner, hit
a pothole like thirty miles an hour and ate a
bad bike crashed, I landed on the handlebars and cracked
two ribs and I've got a major blasting bruise. So
that's my emotionally embarrassing moment.
Speaker 6 (55:23):
So wait, are a second hold on? So you hit
the car or the car hit you.
Speaker 4 (55:27):
Not a car, shoe. I hit a pothole. The pothole
got the front tire and kicked me up and crashed
me down.
Speaker 5 (55:34):
So you went into a pothole, slipped out of your
bike right and broke your ribs.
Speaker 4 (55:39):
I came up straight up there and came straight down
on my ribs and broke my ribs.
Speaker 3 (55:43):
Yeah, a pothole. Okay, I knew you'd asked that question. Fine,
what do you.
Speaker 31 (55:48):
Think of this? Like?
Speaker 7 (55:50):
So here's my problem. I have to relate to Eric
here because I've I've raced motor motorscross, I've drag race
motorcycles two hundred miles an hour in the quarter mile,
all this stuff, crazy things. My worst accident ever was
on a bicycle. I was in Delaware. I was in
Delaware cleaning crabs with an old timer from the neighborhood.
(56:11):
We're sitting there drinking beers, drinking beers and finally time
to go home and riding my bicycle home with a
big bag of crabs, hang up the handle bar and
the stick is pointing out from a bush. I turned
real quick. The crabs go between the tire and the frame,
flip me over the handlebars, and I pretty much looked
like Eric.
Speaker 3 (56:30):
So much money to see that better story than my
by far man.
Speaker 2 (56:33):
Do you think there's some alcohol involved in this story?
Speaker 31 (56:36):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (56:36):
There definitely, there definitely was. I'm laying on the side
of the road on my hands and knees picking up
the crabs as parts lesson.
Speaker 5 (56:45):
Learn man, don't drive your bike your hammered, okay, because
bad things will happen, all right? So wait, not only
does Sean's you were driving by buzz that he's crawling
on the ground grabbing crabs.
Speaker 6 (57:00):
I wash all the street.
Speaker 4 (57:02):
I wish you had a video phone rolling back because
I knew you want a vent on your jack, But
I wash you had.
Speaker 7 (57:06):
A phone your Yeah, this is back in the foots
one days. I don't think there's too many pictures of
this time.
Speaker 3 (57:13):
I think that my mind is Joe. That is absolutly hilarious.
Speaker 6 (57:16):
That would be hilarious.
Speaker 5 (57:17):
So I got one more crab there off road there
a person Wow, this guy is on something, man.
Speaker 3 (57:25):
How could he crabs walk on? Cracked? Show guy?
Speaker 6 (57:30):
Wide flock flop Flakka? You never heard of Floka?
Speaker 31 (57:36):
There was like.
Speaker 6 (57:39):
Yeah, it was like a big thing in Pomps.
Speaker 5 (57:42):
It still is, dug some dude ate another dude in
Miami that was on Flokka for real, like zombie Like did.
Speaker 3 (57:51):
He season the first Yes?
Speaker 6 (57:54):
Okay, Salt Pepper, No, he sees it something else?
Speaker 7 (57:59):
Old day?
Speaker 3 (58:00):
Where where where's the show go over?
Speaker 7 (58:01):
Man?
Speaker 3 (58:01):
This is crazy great? Yeahs of the show.
Speaker 7 (58:04):
We need to get back to fishing.
Speaker 4 (58:06):
Bottom line is don't drive your bike hammered like Shot
and I both though personally okay. So we're looking at
a really blowing kind of day, Buddy, I'm thinking, man,
after this wind blows through, fishing picks back up again.
Speaker 3 (58:17):
Maybe a little bit.
Speaker 7 (58:20):
Yeah, I mean the day before the wind picked up,
the bike turned on really good. It seemed like out
there people were catching kings and wahou and mahi and
stuff like that. So, I mean, the time's gonna work
out just perfect. With the wind stops a couple of
weeks here, it'll be spring time and it'll be a
back during normal program and catching fish.
Speaker 3 (58:38):
You're ready for it's big to do coming up in April,
the Exotic.
Speaker 7 (58:41):
I'm starting to get ready now. Yeah. I'm gonna start
reschooling some rode this weekend and get everything rigged up
and organized.
Speaker 6 (58:49):
Is your wife doing it?
Speaker 7 (58:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (58:51):
Oh yeah, I think she's won a couple of times
over you show. She's beating once or twice right now.
Speaker 12 (58:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (58:57):
Yeah, she beat me every time she's done it, so
every time. Thanks for reminding me of that.
Speaker 4 (59:02):
I just want to say, Man, she's got cred, she's
got your brain. Biologist wife happens to be able to
take her X ray eyeballs. It's spot bass leg in
the bed.
Speaker 6 (59:10):
It's talent.
Speaker 3 (59:11):
It's a very talent.
Speaker 7 (59:12):
But last year I waited a fish in I got
on the stage, per see, and so it's a step
in the right direction. This year might be my.
Speaker 3 (59:19):
Year, Sean.
Speaker 2 (59:20):
Do you assist her in setting her up for fishing
or does she do her own down?
Speaker 7 (59:26):
He has her own secret lures. She keeps it in
a cabinet and I'm not out to touching and look
at it. Her inquires and wow, yeah.
Speaker 3 (59:33):
Huh, she's got a lockup of secret lures.
Speaker 7 (59:36):
Joe, Wow, I thought, I just let her use the
kayak that I want and torn, which she considers her kayak.
Speaker 3 (59:44):
I thought, the marriage always those secrets? Man, at all
you have kept no secrets.
Speaker 7 (59:48):
Maybe this fish though, that's.
Speaker 5 (59:50):
True fishing, Eric, Come on, every man or woman for
themselves man. Yeah, yeah, well Sean, you have bet a
pleasure man. Thanks for that's the story with the crabs
and driving Hammred on a bike.
Speaker 7 (59:59):
Yeah, so I feel you.
Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
I definitely feel you as well. Mass. I'm turning that
into a short thank you brother. I miss you.
Speaker 6 (01:00:06):

Speaker 3 (01:00:07):

You're on board the Nautical Ventures Weekly Fisherman Show with
legendary fisherman Eric Brandon, an extreme angler Joe Hector, powered
by Mercury Marine, Go Boldly.
Speaker 4 (01:04:29):
Advanced Stay Ellen John Madford Man. Yeah, that's a band
blinded by the light, like the shine off my forehead.
Speaker 3 (01:04:42):
Blinding you man, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah,
do you agree with that?
Speaker 4 (01:04:46):
Okay, So welcome to our number two of the Nautical
Ventures a Weekly Fisherman Show. You're number nineteen coming up
in two months. Nineteen years doing this. I cannot believe
it's lasted that long and may go on for another
nineteen joy. No, thank you in sight man for this baby.
Why don't you grow a beard? I used to grow
a great beard man, back in the day. Yeah, what
(01:05:07):
came out nice and brown and black. Now it's all grayish.
I can't do that great thing, man. I just had
my hair highlighted again. I can't ruin that blonde thing,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (01:05:16):
Yeah? Anyways, got off me and get back on a
fishing Shelly because we have Benny hold By one. Stop
looking at me. Damn it.
Speaker 4 (01:05:27):
I've seen so many stories of Aaron Rodgers being bounced
from team to team.
Speaker 5 (01:05:31):
Does anybody knows about him? I just want to know
that fishing. But that was Benny's guy for last season.
Was I just asked you whether he even cares.
Speaker 6 (01:05:42):
Is in the hockey right now?
Speaker 7 (01:05:44):
Man?
Speaker 3 (01:05:44):
Okay, Benny the program, Come on, Benny, good morning, my friend.
How are you all right?
Speaker 44 (01:05:50):
More?
Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
Aaron Rodgers talk with the guy on this one. I'm
over it. I just want to ask anymore, just an Aaron,
forget about it. It's done. Okay. So who the hell
is your jet quarterback?
Speaker 7 (01:06:01):
Now?
Speaker 45 (01:06:01):
I have no idea he does in the fields? Yeah,
Justin Fields is in. He's going to be the one.
He had a good start in Pittsburgh last year. He
was four and two. When he was four and two,
they pulled him out. So you know at that point
he's looking for a little redemption. He doesn't know what
he could have done with their season last year, but
(01:06:22):
he wants to prove something now.
Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
So Rogers out.
Speaker 31 (01:06:26):
Justin Field's in.
Speaker 11 (01:06:27):
Let's make some moves, doesn't.
Speaker 3 (01:06:29):
Rogers over real quick?
Speaker 4 (01:06:30):
About two years ago, when Ryan Fitzpatrick had like a
seven game winning streak for the Fins, and all of
a sudden, the coach asides, we need to throw two
in because we got to test.
Speaker 5 (01:06:39):
Him out and it broke. The streak was kicking ass.
I have to say, they put two in and it
would just tank. I got love fits. I thought Ryan
Fitzpatrick was awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:06:51):
He was plowed people over.
Speaker 7 (01:06:53):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:06:53):
He was like, yeah, just unstoppable.
Speaker 6 (01:06:56):
Do you remember when you guys beat New England and
he pointed at Brady.
Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
Yeah that was so great man. Yeah, he was pretty
Uh he's bad ass, he's ballsy Maneah. Sure.
Speaker 4 (01:07:07):
Anyway back to Betty's fishing charges. Betty is blowing like
a bear. You're both shot today or why?
Speaker 3 (01:07:11):
Man?
Speaker 45 (01:07:12):
No, No, we're not trying to sink a boat out
there today. It's probably seven foot. Yeah, you know, we
got the we got the smaller center consoles. We're a
lot more flexible than most of these big, you know,
sport fish guys as far as letting people back out
of their trips and get their deposits. So we had
to do that today. We had to do that yesterday,
(01:07:32):
and we'll do a little assessment and see if we
can get back out there tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (01:07:35):
You know, how's it looking.
Speaker 45 (01:07:38):
Yeah, maybe fourteen to sixteen the high chance of rain,
it's not promising, but it's not today or yesterday, so
we'll see how it goes.
Speaker 6 (01:07:47):
Well, how's the fishing? Is that better? I heard it
was getting a little better.
Speaker 3 (01:07:50):
Not here yet.
Speaker 45 (01:07:51):
It's like we're waiting for springtime to show up. I mean,
we listened to that little gopher a couple of weeks
ago and he told us spring was going to last
six more weeks he was right.
Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
Or winter last or four weeks?
Speaker 7 (01:08:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (01:08:03):
Yeah, winter, yeah, winter last six more weeks.
Speaker 45 (01:08:05):
So then we got, uh, you know, we got these
cold fronts that are just non stopping. You know, once
these cold fronts stop and the conditions start changing, that's
when the bite's going to change.
Speaker 8 (01:08:14):
You know.
Speaker 4 (01:08:14):
Well, Benny, when you're dad like this, man, how much
time do you guys actually spend like respooling reels or
doing a rod maintenance or real maintenance rather boat maintenance.
That's a big part of your downtime, right.
Speaker 45 (01:08:25):
Yeah, yeah, that's pretty much never ending. I mean, it's
just an ongoing thing. You're always respooling something, you're always
maintaining something. You're always changing some oil or fluids on
one boat or the other. So you know, that's a
never ending grind. If you owned a boat, especially if
you're in the business of anything to do with boating.
You know, it's a there's more work to do than fun.
Speaker 5 (01:08:47):
Yeah, well, you know, I saw boats for a living.
I sell my clients. Oh man, you can buy that boat.
You don't have to touch it. Man, I just got
run it and have a great time at market. That's
all I know.
Speaker 45 (01:08:55):
Hire Benny, give him a few bucks a month and
he'll take care of everything for you.
Speaker 4 (01:08:59):
Yeah, if you don't want to do it, Betty's for hire.
He'll definitely take care of that multi wan dollar yacht
you got there or whatever, not.
Speaker 31 (01:09:06):
The multi they'll do center consoles, all right.
Speaker 4 (01:09:10):
So the front blows through, this schlocky weather goes by by,
fishing picks up afterwards.
Speaker 3 (01:09:15):
Normally Betty's like, yeah, yeah, we're right here.
Speaker 45 (01:09:18):
I mean, this is uh, you know, we always say
aprils are you know, the month where everything starts falling together.
We get the tune to start piling in. We picked
off a couple bigger tuns this week, so you know
that could be a sign of a couple rolling through.
Speaker 3 (01:09:33):
We got a couple of Wahoo's this week. We still
got some sales.
Speaker 45 (01:09:36):
Yeah, you know, there's been some action around, but nothing
on a consistent basis yet.
Speaker 31 (01:09:42):
There's really no patterns.
Speaker 45 (01:09:43):
You know, springs the time of the year where we
start getting really good patterns going. We start telling people
the night before what they're going to catch, and we're
just not there yet, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
So spend your time just respoiling reels and doing maintenance
and the things you got to do to keep a
boat running, man.
Speaker 6 (01:10:00):
Yeah, man a lot.
Speaker 45 (01:10:01):
And if you don't have a boat and you want
to do any of that stuff, give me a call,
you know.
Speaker 4 (01:10:07):
I think I hear kind of a shill here, Joe.
I love it that Benny's for higher. He's kind of
putting out there, kind of subtly shilling. He never shill.
Speaker 5 (01:10:15):
Gotta love the shell. He never shills, man. But he's
actually on a little shill shelf there.
Speaker 6 (01:10:18):
Yeah, you're right, he's pretty humble.
Speaker 3 (01:10:20):
I shaid a shill shelf. Shill shelf, shill shelf. Yeah,
that's for himself. He's on a shill shelf for himself.
Speaker 4 (01:10:28):
Sorry, just to stop, okay, all right, Betty, to pook
you on your day when you're actually gonna go out
there to have a wonderful time and take your clients
off for a happy fishing day.

Speaker 6 (01:18:36):

Speaker 47 (01:18:38):
What's going on, guys?
Speaker 5 (01:18:39):
Kind of a windy, funky looking day. Man, what do
you think about this whole weather thing?
Speaker 47 (01:18:44):
Yeah, you know, I'm in the keys and it'd be
nice if it was a whole lot nicer.
Speaker 3 (01:18:48):
You get wind down or two blowing.
Speaker 47 (01:18:51):
Oh it's freaking steam rolling down here.
Speaker 3 (01:18:54):
Yeah, damn. What's the keystrip for a fishing charter or
just fun times or get away or what?
Speaker 47 (01:19:01):
We are actually picking out a wedding venue.
Speaker 44 (01:19:03):
So oh, get away and in the busiest part of
my season, which is much needed.
Speaker 47 (01:19:12):
And yeah, it's just nice. Nice to be down here,
you know, and uh, try not to get blown away.
Speaker 3 (01:19:20):
One of the wedding bell is gonna ring. I have
a date blind up.
Speaker 47 (01:19:25):
It'll be in November.
Speaker 44 (01:19:26):
We don't have an exact date, but that's what we're
trying to figure out today.
Speaker 4 (01:19:30):
Wait a minute, Johnny, you're the ultimate planner man. You
plan everything just so step by step. I can't believe
you have an un named date yet with you being
the ultimate planned guy, I mean.
Speaker 47 (01:19:41):
It's just a depending on the venues and what's available.
Speaker 7 (01:19:45):
You know.
Speaker 6 (01:19:46):
Yeah, it's gotta be kind of okay.
Speaker 4 (01:19:51):
Well I've done that twice, Johnny, and I'll never see
those wedding bells ever ring in my house again, because
that right, I'm two time a loser baby.
Speaker 3 (01:19:59):
Anyways, how's the fishing been this week?
Speaker 31 (01:20:01):
Man?
Speaker 3 (01:20:01):
What's going on?
Speaker 44 (01:20:03):
It's been insane, It's it's been really good except for
Lake Ida. Lake Ida has not been fishing good. Come
on fishing. It's been fishing okay, there, and here's the
kicker you'll like. Well, I think four or five days ago.
I fish fishing only two times this past week, and
(01:20:26):
we caught, you know, not many peacocks, but the peacocks
that we did catch were huge, Like we did. We
caught a couple of five pounders in one trip, and
we caught a lot.
Speaker 31 (01:20:37):
Of threes and fours.
Speaker 44 (01:20:39):
But we don't really have we we're not really seeing
a lot of those like one to two pounders anymore.
And I don't know if they if they all died
during the last really nasty cold front.
Speaker 47 (01:20:49):
But it's all big fish. We're just we're just catching
all big fish. But there's not many of them.
Speaker 44 (01:20:55):
There's like, you know, we're catching like ten to fifteen
per four hours.
Speaker 31 (01:21:00):
Rip and.
Speaker 3 (01:21:02):
Clown knight fish.
Speaker 44 (01:21:03):
Those guys are always biting, just gotta put your time
in on them. And then we we got to the
Everglades and it's just wide open, wide open, big bass, big,
you know, not not giant peacocks, but good sized peacocks,
and plenty of cichlids. Uh, you know everything, you know,
(01:21:25):
mayan Oscar jaguars, spotted tilapia, largemouth peacock, spotted sunfish, warm mouth,
it's coppernose bluegill. I mean, we caught I think ten
species of fish yesterday in.
Speaker 3 (01:21:40):
Theladesd of before. What's a spot spotted what? Spotted? Who?
Speaker 7 (01:21:44):
What?
Speaker 44 (01:21:45):
A spotted sunfish is a it's a since it's in
the bluegill family, it's a pan fish. They're they're not
very big, but I mean it's a different species of fish,
you know. And the coppernose bluegill is something that's partial
to this out.
Speaker 15 (01:22:01):
Uh.
Speaker 44 (01:22:01):
That's it's a bluegill that's got a band of gold
on its nose and it's called the Copperno's bluegill. And
we have them in Florida and we caught a bunch
of them yesterday and we just caught everything on artificial.
Speaker 47 (01:22:14):
These little little itty bitty z man's and you know
those little pig jig jigs I was telling you guys about. So, yeah,
it's uh tis the season.
Speaker 44 (01:22:23):
For down there, and hopefully it sticks around a little
bit longer than I think it's going to. It's uh
the Everglades is all based on it's all based on uh,
you know, water level, and we're starting to see a
little bit of rain for this for this dry season
(01:22:43):
that we've had, which is good and bad. It's good
because we probably need the rain. It's bad because that
Everglades water is gonna start rising and all those fish
are gonna start shooting back into areas that we can't
fish for them.
Speaker 47 (01:22:56):
You know, they're gonna be all all.
Speaker 3 (01:22:58):
Hiding and about you, Joe. But I'm not a fan
of bluegil fishing. It's just not big enough for me
to have any interesting It's kind of a small little.
Speaker 5 (01:23:07):
Yeah, you know, it's not my not my bag, manh Yeah,
I mean, but you can get other stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:23:14):
Yeah, I just say it's my favorite fish to catch. Fwise, No,
we don't.
Speaker 47 (01:23:18):
Really go for the bluegill.
Speaker 44 (01:23:20):
We go there for peacocks and largemouth bass, and some
guys go for oscars. You know, some of those oscarss
fight harder.
Speaker 31 (01:23:28):
Than like it.
Speaker 47 (01:23:29):
They fight harder than like a two pound.
Speaker 3 (01:23:31):
Well yeah they fight, man, Yeah, they're great fighters.
Speaker 6 (01:23:33):
Yeah how about those via haas.
Speaker 44 (01:23:36):
The a has are as far as I've seen or
not in the Everglades, they are. They're just in like
idle like Osbourne Schein and uh, you know I see
him all day every day. I when I'm tighting, you know,
looking for peacocks under the docks, I'm looking at the
has all day long. And they won't really eat anything
(01:23:59):
except like a live worm or like a grass shrimp.
We catch those little grass shrimp in the lake there,
and oh cool. You got to get a super super small,
like the smallest gold hook you've ever seen in your life. Yeah,
and it's like the thickness of two hairs tied together
and and you use that and they'll eat that under
(01:24:21):
a bobber with like some you know, four pounds tests
very cool.
Speaker 4 (01:24:25):
By trying to go back into your wuddy planning, man,
we wish your best to look that a k Yeah,
my mom turns around.
Speaker 5 (01:24:29):
It gets better for you for that wedding some time
in November. We have a date yet, but have a
great weekend, buddy boy and Johnny. We got to meet
up when you're back.
Speaker 47 (01:24:39):
Sounds good.
Speaker 44 (01:24:40):
I'm i'm I got a lot of availability in April,
especially at night, so we can go grab dinner and
talk about that tournament.
Speaker 6 (01:24:48):
Let's do it.
Speaker 4 (01:24:49):
Well, wait, wait before you go, Johnny, you can't do
anything dark with Joe. He's in bed by seven thirty.
Speaker 6 (01:24:54):
Oh okay, we go early and admit that you're in
bed before dark.
Speaker 9 (01:24:59):
Man, go early.
Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
You're such a goofball. All right, Johnny, Thank you, buddy.
Speaker 6 (01:25:03):
Haven't every weekday man.
Speaker 3 (01:25:05):
Captain Norm is on the show.
Speaker 4 (01:25:07):
He's back. We had a little shuffling of the phone calls. Yeah,
something happened, you know, whatever the hell might have been. Norm,
come on to tell your brother.
Speaker 6 (01:25:14):
Hey, Norm, how's it going? Well there, what's up?
Speaker 4 (01:25:20):
Sorry about the phone staff of Norm. I'm sure what
happened to you, buddy, but we're glad you're on the show.
And uh, what's been happening?
Speaker 39 (01:25:26):
Man?
Speaker 5 (01:25:26):
Tell us about Broward County fishing? Please, well, it's kind
of tail.
Speaker 31 (01:25:31):
To be sure. Oh sure, what earlier on in the week.
Speaker 5 (01:25:38):
All uh, Norm, Norm, we have to we have to
cut this man and we'll call you right back because
the phone is breaking.
Speaker 3 (01:25:45):
A real bad.
Speaker 4 (01:25:45):
Maybe go to a better cell site in your house somewhere. Uh,
every other words, drop it out. So let's give it
like thirty seconds. Yeah, and reconnect with norm because we
gotta have norm one. Yeah okay, yeah right yeah. Uh
you ever spent a day catching bluegules at all?
Speaker 11 (01:26:00):
Now?
Speaker 3 (01:26:01):
What do you catch? I forgot? Usually bread balls? I mean,
what's what's the beta choice for a blue gill?
Speaker 7 (01:26:06):
Live?
Speaker 3 (01:26:07):
Worms?
Speaker 7 (01:26:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:26:07):
Worms?
Speaker 31 (01:26:08):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:26:08):
Worms?
Speaker 7 (01:26:08):
Right? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:26:09):
In New Jersey we would get them on like worms.
I don't think people like eat those things, like they
pan for them.
Speaker 6 (01:26:15):
Yeah right, yeah, yeah, you know it is not my thing,
but you know there's areas.
Speaker 3 (01:26:22):
But oscars fight like hell aus, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:26:24):
Yeah, tug Man, Yeah, Normous back, okay, norm Sorry, buddy,
phone issues they go on here.
Speaker 3 (01:26:30):
But anyway, welcome back to the show. You were saying
about browerd fishing please.
Speaker 48 (01:26:34):
Yeah, okay, So it's kind of been a tail of
two fisheries this week. Earlier on in the week when
we had the calm weather. Uh, the inshore fishing really
wasn't too much. A few black tins in the morning
and afternoon, not not really much talk about. But the
swordfish went off this week really really uh good swordfish
calm weather.
Speaker 31 (01:26:55):
There was some pretty big fish caught. There was even
a five sixty one caught.
Speaker 7 (01:26:59):
Wow uh wow.
Speaker 31 (01:27:01):
And so you know, the the sword fishing was pretty good.
Speaker 48 (01:27:06):
And the uh uh we even had Captain Chris Pascual
was trolling out in seven hundred feet of water on
the charter boat big game raised the blue marlin uh
that crashed out the lure on the leftlong and uh
they couldn't stick them, but uh you know, and then
of course when the weather picked up, you know, shor
(01:27:29):
did the fishing, and uh the sales bit pretty good.
Speaker 31 (01:27:32):
Some better sized black.
Speaker 48 (01:27:34):
Can tunas on live bait, uh a few wahoos and
uh some and and the big kings really liked that
rough weather too, so there was some bigger kings being
caught in shore as well.
Speaker 31 (01:27:47):
So it's uh, it's it's been pretty good.
Speaker 48 (01:27:50):
But you gotta, you know, you gotta go out there
and put up the heavy wind heights and and be
willing to uh hang in that slop.
Speaker 3 (01:27:59):
What you're made choice. Norm when your daytime or nighttime
short fishing man, when you drop something down there you
like doing like a butterfly. Uh I don't know, mahi
or what's your main choice down there?
Speaker 31 (01:28:09):
I don't know. I don't sword fish.
Speaker 4 (01:28:13):
Always be careful what question you ask, Eric, because if
they don't want the answer, then you're stuck.
Speaker 6 (01:28:17):
Okay, well, I mean people like using the snakeheads, actually snakehead.
Speaker 5 (01:28:21):
I know quite a few guys that do that. Octopus
or squid rather squid down it? Well, yeah, not octopus here, I.
Speaker 3 (01:28:28):
Met squid, Joe. Thank you for correcting me again.
Speaker 6 (01:28:30):
No problem with a little light a little lighty thing
on that.
Speaker 3 (01:28:33):
Yeah, Josh, seen it. Thank you very much.
Speaker 4 (01:28:35):
So norm The weather here is a pretty slocky man.
You've seen wind and waves and craping and broward.
Speaker 31 (01:28:41):
Yeah, I mean it's it's it's pretty nasty.
Speaker 6 (01:28:44):
Uh, I'll tell you.
Speaker 28 (01:28:45):
You know.
Speaker 31 (01:28:45):
One of the things that uh that's not a.
Speaker 48 (01:28:48):
Bad option on a day like this, besides freshwater fishing
is hitting the piers. Oh okay, like in the beach
pier would be good on a day like today where
it's blowing hard out of the east, and I mean
the you know, you catch pompino and Spanish mackerel and
bluefish and jackson.
Speaker 31 (01:29:09):
Just you know, you can go out there and have
a pretty good day.
Speaker 48 (01:29:11):
Uh so that's that's never really a bad option when
when the wind blows like this, and of.
Speaker 31 (01:29:17):
Course harping fishing then sure has been really good.
Speaker 48 (01:29:21):
I mean Captain Jeff Maggio and Captain Zach Routman have
been killing him. I mean some really big fish up
to one hundred and eighty pounds. So it's the intro
fishing is a pretty good option as well.
Speaker 3 (01:29:32):
Would you say guys could go like surf casting today, man?
Or is it too windy for that?
Speaker 31 (01:29:37):
It'd probably be a little windy for that.
Speaker 4 (01:29:40):
Yeah, it's one thing I've never done. Jelly is actually
cast a rod off a beach like you've doubt whatever else.
I've never surf cast before. That's kind of like kind
of a paint of the ass.
Speaker 3 (01:29:49):
Yeah, I mean they catch permit in certain areas. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:29:55):
Yeah, Now with the permit they get, they use the crabs.
Speaker 3 (01:29:59):
Crabs and rip off the do the sand fleas.
Speaker 6 (01:30:03):
No, Pompino, we use the cribs.
Speaker 4 (01:30:05):
We don't, correct me, I just did some research on us.
Last sand fleys work. Well, that's norm for permit pomp.
Speaker 3 (01:30:14):
What fish likes to eat a sand flee?
Speaker 6 (01:30:18):
But both of them do see I wasn't wrong, Shoe.
Speaker 3 (01:30:24):
Think bad told you He's right, all right, Normala, Hey buddy,
thanks for checking in.
Speaker 7 (01:30:30):

We got a cloud of pollen hanging over the whole city.
It's just wow, fantastic.
Speaker 4 (01:37:59):
Yeah, I've got guys I know that would go to
this allergy phase with stuff being in the air. Yeah,
and it's so bad that actually it takes some out
of their game. They can't talk, they get these blinding headaches.
I never had a problem with allergies, but apparently this
pollen thing you're talking about, Jenny's pretty bad stuff, right.
Speaker 50 (01:38:17):
Yeah, it's really bad.
Speaker 6 (01:38:18):
It's really bad.
Speaker 31 (01:38:19):
I mean it's my kids.
Speaker 50 (01:38:20):
Like yesterday, they're throwing the football and when they came up,
you know, if they went on the ground, their back
of their shirt is just completely yellow.
Speaker 31 (01:38:28):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (01:38:29):
And they don't have to say they don't do affected
by it. They don't get sneezy and coffee and water.
Speaker 50 (01:38:34):
The little one does a little bit. But yeah, it's
not as bad. I feel like it's just the older
you get the worst against wild Well.
Speaker 4 (01:38:42):

Speaker 3 (01:39:18):

Her call dropt already? Well, guess phone issues is last hour?
Very strange. But I'm guessing it's pretty windy that white show.
Speaker 4 (01:40:06):
And I'm pretty guessing maybe i'd be a little tough
to fish this week with some of that wind.
Speaker 7 (01:40:10):
Joe, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:40:11):
I think it's like this wind is uh.

Okay, so it still work blows fish.
Speaker 3 (01:41:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:41:01):
I used a very cool piece of video for you
when you had caught a mahi and I think a
triple tail, and you said this is gonna make a
mighty fine dinner.
Speaker 3 (01:41:07):
I put that on a Facebook promo. Might have tasted dinner,
she said, their joy. So that was kind of a
