and uh, you can grab your jigg and rod and
go down the bayside and jump on the boat and
jig gear blanks off and have a have a great day.

the second trip, so cash seventy five bucks to go
out on the boat all day, two four hour trips
vertical jigging, whatever you like to do, live baiting.

See, yeah you gotta park, so what that's Miami, I
give up. You're right, And you can also park at
a triple A arena. By the way, sometimes it's only
like five bucks as long, but if they got an
event going on, you can multiply that. That goes in
multiples quickly ex potentially. So yeah, there's no breaks down

there as far as that goes. However, you know, we
do provide a much hiring service in the average party
fishing boats. We tried, I've been We've been doing that
since Dan Kipnus and I you know, got back doing
the reward years ago. We you know, this is what
we bring. I mean, I've won salefish tournaments in party
boats because the fish don't know what kind of boat
you're in. So and you know, as long as they

don't have to run down to Ocean Reef, which is
a two day trip. You know, hey, you know what,
I will tell you this. You could ask everybody from
John Louis to Quentin's, any of the guys that are
as good as they get in this business and bouncer
when it's right, the Seabooy right off downtown Miami is
as good as it gets, and that's for sale fish

for everything. It can be as phenomenal as anywhere. So uh,
not only that you can catch bait at the Booie.
A lot of folks may or may not know that.
Just hang a chum back out up current and speedos
and blue runners.

And all kinds of stuff.

And see, I'm giving you guys secrets here. I'd be
charging for this.

That's a big yeah.

Ye, I mean, you gotta have bait to fish a
little bit. But we've been kind of in a holding
pattern with our fish and we're still catching quite a
few little minds, a few big ones. We're holding off
fishing some of the spots that have big fish because, uh,
I know, we had a week and a half ago
one of my guys caught like four or five really
big groupers and stuff and let them go, and I

told them, I said, leave them alone, don't touch those spots.
They're kind of like, look, look, it's kind of like
there's there's kind of like little banks out there that
that'll hold a few fish. And if you go and
white out early, even if you catch them and let
them go, you know, so we're gonna hit them hard Thursday.
I'm running the boat Thursday's opening day group of seasons.

Yeah, I think.

Yeah, we're gonna probably do another one over the weekend.
We're gonna pick and choose when we could put them
out there. But uh, you know, we catch live bait.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
We fish.

I'll fish little recks and ledges and all kinds of
cool stuff that I know, and hopefully and hopefully been
some rods, and you don't catch a few groupers. So
so that's about it, I would say, you know, other
than I don't you know, I still think offshore fishing
this time of the year, late afternoon is the best time.
I wouldn't even leave the dock until till two o'clock. Man,

(12:32):
just fish at dusk. You know, fish that last last
couple hours out there is when it'll live back early
in the morning and then late in the afternoons when
things will fire back up again. But you know, we
kind of go no matter what. So so I thank
god the weather looks like it's going to be a
little little better. We had some had some slop this
past week and I had to shut down a few trips.
So we don't beat people up.

You know, you book up for labor day. That's you know,
not too.

Long every day. We can't we go, man, Yeah, we go.

Just all right, you're gonna start me off on storytelling
about twenty years ago, twenty five years ago, when my
original crew and we were a bunch of beer drinking MUDs.
Of course, I think the Pope came to town and
we had to shut down the business. I said, the guys, guys,
let's go, let's go fishing. So we got up early.
We brought a bunch of food, and I fished rex

all the way up up to Pompino and back, and
we dragged beer, stayed up twenty four hours. UH filled
the boxes with Almaco, Jack's amber jacks, a couple of
warsaw groups, a bunch of gag grippers. We killed the fish,
uh and and and had to and had to shut
down a couple more days to recover. But that was
a long time ago. I did this stuff with the

crew man. We have these crew days. But yeah, the
coke Pope came to town and we had the boat trip.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
That was that.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
So yeah, well it's an all sincerity. A lot of
cath Is out there. It's a big loss. So I
do have a Catholic myself. You wouldn't know, Yeah, you
would not know that I'm a Catholic. Yeah, I got
it like the gold shape anyway. Way, so uh, weird
guys talking to this drinking about kingfish being back in abundance.
We talked about those yet.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Not well, I haven't much. However, this is the great
time of year to catch the biggest fish. And it's
definitely more of an afternoon bike and right right off
downtown Miami, when the outgoing tide is really cranking good
and hard and there's a north current late in the afternoon,
it's a really good shot for big kings. I mean,
caught a lot of big fish, especially on this next
moon coming up. It's gonna be a little bit away,

(14:44):
but you know, right now is prime time. We sho
just troll big plugs. I mean, if you can't get
live bait and don't know how to rig them with wires,
kite fishing. A little quick tip here, kite fishing with
the biggest blue runners you can put up. You'll see
the biggest kingfish in the world come up and there's
one key to it, and a lot of guys miss it.
Kingfish have a habit of jumping baits. If you ever
saw a thirty pound kingfish jump jump a two pound

(15:06):
blue runner, it goes straight up in the air thirty
feet and usually bites the bait in half. So what
normally guys do. They'll they'll let that bait drag across
the top sideways. Sure, and I will tell you this,
a thirty pound kingfish wasn't born yesterday. They're smart. They'll
come up right behind and look at it, going, what's
up with this Thing's? How come it's dragging away? Because
the guy's standing there with his thumb on this. Well, listen,

(15:27):
they're not thinking. All you have to do once that
kingfish bites that bait in half is open the veil,
open your reel, dump, do not stop. I don't care
if it takes two minutes, because when he eats it,
it's going to be all the way down. I've got
fifty pounders doing that. Think about it. How do they feed,
They cut the tail off, then they their leisure. They

(15:48):
don't know it's a two pound blue runner doesn't get
drug sideways across the surface after he gets his tail
bit off. So unless they're really hungry, you're just going
to see him come up and look at it. So
opening the bail, Yeah, you must have wire and a
bunch of it.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
Well, I'll tell you what if I my friend Joe
Johnson does a fish very much, ever caught a kingfish
like that, and he said dump, he'd be taking one. So, yeah,
we just.

Speaker 7 (16:11):
Learned something awesome here today.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Another thing. Another thing, You get the biggest, baddest spinning
rods you got, even if it's twelve pound line. You
put on some shock leader and two feet to eight
wire with a big chugger plug. When he jumps it,
hit it with the plug. You're gonna you're gonna be
amazed at the strikes. I mean, they will crush a plug.
But you gotta have it stand by ready. I used
to have it on the bridge and the reward so

so if I saw the fish come and jump the bait,
I was out out of the wheelhouse. Had the spinning rod,
had that big plug out there, and all you gotta
do is just there's no special retrie You just wind it.
You wind it as fast as you can, man, and
that's one of the most exciting things you can do
out there.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
So Wayne, you're a man of very, very many words
like me. So we have to rock the clock and
move on again. Remember, bring your kids fishing on the
reward fishing for absolutely? Okay, thirteen absolutely? How many free?

Pure white fillet, pure white filet and really good. So
but yeah, that's what we're gearing up for now, getting
everything ready. Usually will hit the recks and the walls,
but depends on what's going on. The current's been a
little strong down there lately, north current, but again you
can't it changes with the wind. Basically top side has

been a little bumpy, but this hasn't been too bad.
Water temperature has improved seventy six to seventy eight degrees. However,
a couple of my buddies were up to Jupiter and
man oh man, sixty three degrees on the bottom they
get some kind of like yeah, where the deep stuff

comes in, that's why they get. They get big fish
up there, big big sharks, big fish. There's a lot
of action going on up there in Jupiter. And yeah,
they weren't up there on on a Thursday. It's it's chili.
It was chili down there.

bring a bugle grip down with your what suit and
try to find mister Winkie with it? This is disgusting, man,
you like put it out of its shell.

when we target lionfish usually a little deeper and we'll
actually going out tomorrow with a bunch of buddies and
we're gonna go off that deeper side eighty five one hundred.
That's usually where they kind of like to hang out.

a mile off the beach and get your limit.

I mean it's been a little bit not big tunas
for us getting our limits yet. You know, getting our
limits is still with kind of smaller fish on the
troll right. But again we're at the time of the
year where within one mile right here you can catch
all your pelagics. Right now, everything's passing by. I mean,
the most consistency is with the kings and the tunas.

There's still a lot of spotty action coming from you know,
mahi Wahu and salefish, so it's pretty productive. I mean
it was a little sporty for us this week with
our center consoles, we had to weed through some trips,
but we still got out at least a trip every day,
and they, you know, everyone caught fish this week, so
it's a little less stressful. When there's some fish out there,

makes a little easier to get some action going. It's
almost like getting people to go home with fishlmost every
trip right now. So it's been a little more consistent
this week than it has been in the past couple
of weeks for us. It's starting to shape out to
be a good, good springtime fishing right now.

Joe Johnson, who's kind of a novice medium novice angler,
We're to show up on Betty's fishing charters. Yeah, with

will help and do everything for you pretty much. Some
people want to be a little more hands on. We
let them get a little more. Even if they start
