Marine Group. Thank you very much. Run by Double oh seven.
Roger Moore, the man with the Plan. Hello Roger, Hey, Roger,
what's up?
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Buddy?
Speaker 4 (00:37):
Hey Roger?
Speaker 5 (00:39):
Hello, Joe Hey, my.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Great co host and friend of many many decades.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Yeah. Man, man, it's been like thirty years.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
You've been on a show three years now long, It's
been fantastic. Three years. Yes, insane, that's longer that both
my marriages lasted. Actually, yeah, Taves earth Head, you of
them hated I forties, Jeff Vecktor Flight a Ship, and
j Gray the crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
Man, y'all on this Memorial Day weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Really good, man, really good. So I talked to some
caps this week. Yeah, the word of the week is Mahi.
They are back now, not big, but a lot of
schoolies like everywhere I've been hearing that. I said, matthewout
yesterday with his friend Enrique. Right, and there's that like
five minutes in the Gulf street, found some wheat patches
uh huh, tossed out some live pilchers and they hooked
(01:24):
up any big ones like swingers man. But still they're
after like crazy too. Now I'm going fishing to Wednesday
this week on the Double D with Captain d Panos.
Speaker 5 (01:37):
Okay, what does double D stand for?
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Double D could be whatever you wanted to be, Steve,
I just use your very limited imagination. Yeah, I'm thinking
of things you're thinking. Ye, boombas is what you're thinking. Yeah, whatever,
So go try that not this Wednesday and see how
it goes. Tuna fishing was our key to uh target,
and hopefully we'll be hooked up. You'll get some you think,
(02:01):
so Yeah, I well you know what time you got?
You going earlier at seven A? All right, yeah, I
hear it. Dust are really good now, Captain Robert Pouschel
or got great guy the realist sanity. Yeah, that nut
job said if the water's moving, like there's some current moving,
we'll slam them. If it's still water, we're dead. If
(02:22):
you bring it back bait.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
If well, here's the thing.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
If it's still I would definitely go with the jigs
the deep, like just the vertical drake. Do you have
a pocketfull of Johnny jigs with you? I can maybe
bar a few.
Speaker 6 (02:33):
I do.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Can I reach in your back? I have like four
of them to reach in your pocket for you and
grab one. Now you can't reach in my pocket.
Speaker 5 (02:40):
Y'all need a room.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
That's the nasty. They reached in your pocket for I
just saying they get you jigs in your pocket from me?
Speaker 5 (02:48):
You got something that's a nice jike?
Speaker 4 (02:50):
You got there has.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Got a jig in your pocket. You haven't seen it.
So Jimbo's holding online, one says Jeff. He's holding patiently
for us to shut our flappers. And so I want
you to do your jojo besto and bring him on
their joey.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
I think you know, I think I'll just do a
basic hello joke.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
That's like impossible for you.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
It's gonna be hard.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Try your best.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Okay, you're ready, I'm ready, man, I can't do it.
Speaker 7 (03:16):
Jimbo, he is a jim Moolcome Jimbo.
Speaker 6 (03:20):
Here he comes, Jimbo Bury.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
I kept it short, though I kept it short.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yes, you did very short. Yeah, hell on, Jimbo, how
are you buddy?
Speaker 8 (03:32):
There he is I was doing pretty good until that intro.
Speaker 9 (03:36):
What the heck?
Speaker 4 (03:38):
I even got your home?
Speaker 8 (03:39):
Sorry about that, but yeah, I thought it was gonna
be short and sweet and then not.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Shattered your dreams.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Copa stuck back in that musical library forever, man. But anyway,
it is that way. It is that way, my friends.
So we chaded last night. What's up on the waters,
buddy boy?
Speaker 8 (03:59):
Well, beautiful weather all week, flat calm for the most part,
and the fish has been very good. Quite a few
dolphin out there, so hopefully this is an indication of
more good things to come for the summer with the
dolphin anywhere from the edge, say one hundred feet of
water on out, we've been finding dolphin. No huge ones
(04:23):
like last week, but a lot of decent size ones.
I'd say the bulkum are four pounders, so just good schoolies.
But there's been a number of ten pounders, eight pounders,
so big schoolies. You know. Some of these guys called
heavy lifters. Some people call a five pounder a gaffer,
so you never know. But so it's been very good.
(04:47):
The if you're libating along the edge. That's what I
have preferred to do because you've got a chance and
a lot of different species fish in the same way.
So if you're live bait and the dolphin are going
to find you Otherwise. The guys that have been heading
out a little deeper or even along yet trolling have
(05:09):
been getting them pretty consistently as well. There's been a
lot of seaweed out there, but it hasn't been lined
up to where it's beneficial. It's more of a nuisance.
But they've just been kind of cruising through this seaweed.
There's been some birds over some of them, but the
(05:30):
bulkum just out of nowhere. So dolphin vision has been
very consistent.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Guys like what we're getting most of them.
Speaker 10 (05:41):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (05:42):
We had them yesterday from one hundred and twenty to
two hundred feet, but I did not go any deeper
than two hundred feet. Had I gone deeper, I probably
would have gone them out deeper as well. I do
know a couple of the boats trolling went out to
full four or five or six hundred feet, so not
(06:02):
very far. It's another mile off shore roughly. They all
had a fairly good trolling and some decent sized ones
eight ten pounders I've heard of. Yeah, so you know
that's sort of going out and looking for those things.
I heard of guys catching their limit of twenty or
(06:24):
thirty of them yesterday or even in the last few days.
So dolphin fish has been exciting. And then we've had
some sailfish along the edge, a few black fin tunas,
and a few kings. The kings aren't thick, but the
ones that are being caught have been good sized ones,
(06:45):
and almost all the almost all the kings have been
on live bait. But if you want to go and
pull a planer or wireline with a spoon or something,
you got a shot at some of these kings too.
But live baiting would be my preferred way to catch
all this stuff. So if you get some light bait,
go out to one hundred and eighty feet of water.
(07:06):
I don't think you're going to have much success flying
a kite today, at least not right up right now,
But if you can get a kite up, do that.
Otherwise you can just drift your or slow troll your
live baits. You got a shot at sales dolphin, kingfish,
black patuna, so you gotta a shot at a lot
(07:26):
more species versus if you're trolling, you're most likely only
going to find the dolphin.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
All right, Jimbo, personal question for you, because you're the expert. Okay,
you're the guru. Some days you're the savant. You're the man,
guess the future guy who's amazing.
Speaker 5 (07:50):
Isn't there something called an idiot savant?
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Whatever?
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Well, fishing ones day with my sons on the double
D with Captain de Pam. We're going for tune officially
seven am to one pm. What do you think my
chances are of getting some whoppers in that trip?
Speaker 8 (08:10):
Well, it's always possible, of course. And I heard him
mentioning if the currents, if the currents moving, which it
has been the last few days, they could stop today
though you never know, don't say that you're currents. Well,
you're not going today, so it doesn't matter. It could
stop Wednesday possibly.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Would you still say that you're putting the juju on me?
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Man?
Speaker 5 (08:35):
Come on, dude, hey, Eric, you could definitely get some
wa Well you.
Speaker 11 (08:40):
There you go see again?
Speaker 2 (08:42):
What's again?
Speaker 9 (08:42):
Man?
Speaker 2 (08:42):
You just you're just so full of information. Thank you
very much. Go through BK before I go get some whoppers.
You know you know they're called jumbos, right, yeah, jumps,
call it jumbo okay, jump jim Jimbo's jumbos.
Speaker 8 (08:54):
Yeah yeah, whatever, man. So condition Yeah, if the conditions
are good with the blue water in the north current,
the good chance you're going to find the tunas and
everything else. So when the tunas are biting, the sales
are biting, the kings are biting. When they're not biting,
(09:15):
that they're all not biting. But that hasn't been the
case this week. It's been good all week. I suspect
it should continue. So you guys should have a good
day with Dean. If you don't have a good days
because he sucks, but if you have a good day,
I hope. So I always listening.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
You guys are great money. So you're basically saying that
we don't get fished, we are sucks. No, but I'm
playing this for Dean on the boat as he knows
what you said about him.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
Okay, just after he's going to be a hero.
Speaker 8 (09:53):
So we're only as good as the fish make this out. Okay,
if you can get enough baits to chum with, yes,
that's the way to go.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Joe. If somebody books a charter on the Thomas flyer.
Right they come back stuck? Do they say a jim
Book you suck?
Speaker 4 (10:11):
They don't.
Speaker 8 (10:12):
I would, I would admit to it. I'd say I
sucked today. But really, the way it works, well, listen
the way it works all the Thomas fire it's me
and my brother Rick. When we catch fish, it's my fault.
When we don't, it's Rick's fault. I blame it on him.
So you got to learn how to throw the blame
(10:33):
off somebody else.
Speaker 12 (10:34):
Jimbo, if you suck, do you give an ice suck
discount for the customers for the next trip or what happens?
Speaker 8 (10:41):
No, that that would be Rick, because when we don't
catch fish, it's Rick's fault.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Boy.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
We're learning a lot about the side. Really, really, I
like it.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
I care about the back end of this.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
So if you don't catch fish, Rick sucks and yell
you catch fish.
Speaker 8 (10:57):
And when we do catch fish, the great captain out there,
Now what.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Happens to the anglers really are just total googins and
they loose fish? Do they suck?
Speaker 8 (11:06):
M Well, that's probably I'm guessing what Dean's gonna have
to deal with on Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
I've got two very big sons. Okay, they don't want
to find you. Okay, you just said they sucked on.
Speaker 11 (11:24):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
They might put a little roundhouse on your ass. Okay,
just see there we go. All right, I'm gonna suck.
Speaker 8 (11:32):
I'm gonna have to call Dean and just give him
a heads up what he's gotta be dealing with on Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
I would do that, jim Bo.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
That's a good move, buddy.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
Dean has all for handicapped people.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
You're saying, oh, stop it, they're piling on you.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Now, that's not even me today, I know, man, it's
I'm just listening.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
I got the look fan. I'm a lucky guy today.
But you don't have a great day. Maybe catch nothing.
Suck God just suck, God suck. You're very worst. Okay, suck. Okay,
how about that one there? Knuckle ahead?
Speaker 4 (12:09):
All right, all.
Speaker 8 (12:10):
Right, well let's see hopefully I can overcome this. Heck,
she's just putting on the go.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Do the COPA on the Thomas Fire. Have a great weekend, okay, buddy,
Ye see you, Jimbo.
Speaker 8 (12:22):
You guys, good luck. Everybody have a safe day out
there on the water.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
Well, no one need good luck. Thank you after that,
Kai Bash, thank you very much. Got some changes of
the show coming up, Joe, We have some new caps
on the program. Yeah, Vinny Sacks on the YB Normal
coming up and they brower report. Cool. We've got uh
skip ray Dan the Keys. He's our new keys guy
for the time being.
Speaker 12 (12:45):
That name sounds familiar, by the way, what he was
on the show many many years ago after Jim Manners
gave me this program back in the day.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
He was on our first seven eight years and he
sold his boat and kind of went back in the
blah blah land. And he's back now. The believe about
George Clark Junior. They're teamed up together on the same boat.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
Very cool.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
There we got two for the price of one. Man. Wow,
So George will be on two yeah oh that oh
really Yeah. He's driving a boat it skips entertaining people.
So it's some sweet yeah.
Speaker 11 (13:13):

Speaker 2 (13:13):
So all right, a lot of changes coming up here.

Fisherman Show, where a global program. You can see us
anywhere on the planet. I've seen streamers of Greece and Italy, Argentina, Spain,
that crazy city. It's city of his own, it's own country,
highly says hi peewee, and that indeed, I like this
(18:31):
little thing. Oh say nothing though, man, you're just doing emotions.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
Man.
Speaker 5 (18:36):
You know the name of the song right here.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Yeah, it's called Tequila. So for the Harry Piers Show,
you weren't like making any noise. The guys in the
cars can't see you driving because we have a gigantic
night forty so you have to make some grunting sounds,
some singing sounds. Yeah, yeah, like that Eric America.
Speaker 8 (18:52):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Here's a guy who's been grutting up some great snakeheads
for many years. And uh, very humble guy who's won
that state world record, hadny many tires and just doesn't
even brag about it. Oh speaking of that, sure, did
you see and her friends twelve pounds snake cash? It
didn't look twelve pounds and we weighed with what would
you have a scale?
Speaker 4 (19:12):
It was all head, Yeah, twelve pounds you.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Know scale with you?
Speaker 4 (19:16):
Yeah, we brought well one of those hang you know
ones that you put.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
In I just see in the photo. I just saw
some slimmy little skinny skinkis Yeah right, skankkit skank care
I called him. Congratulations to you, thanks me out fished
you again. Yeah, let's go to our friend Cory Dobokowski show. Right, Hey, Corey,
what's that buddy?
Speaker 25 (19:34):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (19:35):
Not too much.
Speaker 26 (19:35):
How you guys doing.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
Oh, there's usual fight of Corey is every weekend living
the dream Corey. It takes about ten minutes for Caffey
to kick in and Corey gets in the second gear soon. Man,
Corey has been hot of it snott man lately, I
mean really hot, brutally hot.
Speaker 9 (19:50):
Man.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Is it affecting the fishing at all? Because it's been
really sninking hot?
Speaker 9 (19:53):
Wow?
Speaker 6 (19:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 27 (19:56):
At times, it kind of depends on what you're uh,
what you're fishing for and uh, you know that can
make a big.
Speaker 28 (20:05):
Difference depending on the time of day, you know, with
the snakeheads it's been it's it's still been hitting pretty
good during the day. It just kind of depends on
how the the morning starts out. You know, if it's
a bright, clear, you know start, that's kind of you know,
makes it for a kind of a tough start. Sometimes,
depending on the situation. You know, you got to find cover, docks, trees,
(20:29):
overhanging stuff like that. Let's get that bite going. It's
been good out.
Speaker 27 (20:34):
In the Everglades too. I'd say the water is real
low out there. That's been a really good bite out there.
But if it's dead still and calm, it's about it's done.
At about nine ten o'clock. You got to really fish
deep for those bass. Yeah, you start going deep, especially
with the water gate so.
Speaker 26 (20:48):
Hot as it is now.
Speaker 27 (20:51):
But yeah, it's it's it's definitely affecting things. I mean,
the nighttime bite could be pretty good this time of
year for bass snakeheads. That's that's always a an option too.
If you don't want to deal with the heat.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
These fish like hit like around noon or one. Couriers
are just too hot and they just they shuts off.
Speaker 27 (21:09):
Well, there's times where I have I have found it
where even bass fishing too, that middle of the day
sometimes you could it's amazing, even if it's hot as
hell and it's you know, that bite really turns on
at that time of the day. It's really interesting. You
gotta know, grant and sometimes you got to really slow
it down, you know. But it's it can be very good.
(21:32):
I mean, I've had it with the snakehead. Sometimes they
hit better at that time of the day than they
do first thing in the morning, right like the heat
up show.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
So I was just gonna say, so that's interesting because
so yesterday I took me and the.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
Girls fishing by this lake by my house and it was.
Speaker 29 (21:52):
Like hot, hot, right, and we weren't catching anything. We're
talking like one o'clock all right, yeah, midday, and all
of a sudden, right before that's thunderstorm hit and that
rain came literally like ten minutes before.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
It was on fire. We caught a big peep boom.
Then we caught a big snakehead boom. Then we caught
another snakehead.
Speaker 29 (22:16):
Then we called a mine cyclic yeah, and then all
of a sudden, boom, it started raining.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
The bite died again, and we left left there you go.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
So that I guess it would be like a high
pressure or whatnot that rolled in with the storm just
made them go crazy and then they shut off again.
Very cool man. Yeah, So I guess the main thing
is I always ask my bait are using just artificial
only and not that other stuff we don't talk about
very often.
Speaker 27 (22:42):
Yeah, no, it's all. It's all our official all then
for me, that's all we've been using mostly if anything,
it's been bad fishing, you know.
Speaker 26 (22:55):
Top water frogs. We've been also using.
Speaker 27 (22:58):
The really good thing. It works as good good this
time of year as a large like a four, twelve,
fourteen or sixteen inch plastic worm. Wow, for a large
fountain bass. That just you know, those fish want to
get on a bigger bite or a bigger bait, you know,
this time of the year. So that's a really good
bait to use for for.
Speaker 26 (23:18):
Bass and say goods.
Speaker 27 (23:21):
Yeah, yeah, it's big, it's I mean, I've had ten
inch bass hit that thing, you know that's sixteen inch
worms like oh yeah, really wow, you're super hungry, my friend.
So uh pretty good a kick down every time. But yeah,
it's for the most part it's you know, like snakeheads,
you know, the frog, you know, frog swim bait, top
(23:42):
woard bites, you know, picking up pretty good. And you know,
chatter bait works good spinner baits, So that's been pretty good.
I haven't really been peacock fishing, so I don't. I
this week, so I don't. I haven't really been out
for that. See what's going on with that?
Speaker 2 (23:56):
A tip that I've been learning that I learned and
worry for me what from? But it's multiple Pablo's a sweet.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Well now one peacock Cory.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
I've been using the suspending lures lately, right, and they
might go to a lure, but I realized I get
better play by tying a uni knot and leave it
about a quarter inch of play between the actual eye
of the of the lure and the actual Yeah, but
a quarter inch, and it makes that that lure just
(24:27):
so much more play in the way and have a
tightened right.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
To the to the metal that makes it so.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
I don't know if it's just something I had learned
on my own or you guys have already been doing
it for years, Corey, but yeah, it gives it more
play for me at least, you know.
Speaker 27 (24:41):
Yeah, yeah, No, that makes a big difference. That makes
a big difference in that bait or that lure working naturally,
you know, moving naturally sometimes a lot of times with
some of those lures. If you don't, if it's tied
right up to the eye, it doesn't it doesn't move
quite as well as that's you know, you put it
kind of a loop in it.
Speaker 6 (24:59):
Ye makes a big difference.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
That changed the whole emotion of that lure Man speaking
speaking of lords, what about what do you think of
like the poppers, like the smaller poppers. I know a
lot more people are starting to get into them. I
use them. I actually got a couple of new ones,
but I don't really have much luck with them.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
I don't know why.
Speaker 26 (25:18):
Uh No, they work really well.
Speaker 27 (25:20):
Like I use like like a frog type that I'll.
Speaker 6 (25:22):
Use throw.
Speaker 27 (25:25):
Okay, and it's it's similar. It's a similar type of
you know, like to a regular like a chug bug
or a pop bar or something like that. But it's
all about like that stop and start, you know, you stop,
pop it stop, and it's really like a slow motion.
But it does work. I mean I've caught a lot
of big bass with that thing. The hits are the
(25:46):
hits are so good with those, that's it's so addicting when.
Speaker 26 (25:48):
They hit that thing. Oh yeah, they they blow up
on it.
Speaker 27 (25:52):
Things so hard.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 29 (25:53):
Because I have like an old frog type lord that
I use that I always catch fish on and it's
kind of the same motion, you know, you you know,
it's like going nuts on the top, then you stop
for two seconds, then you go again, and uh, you know,
it's kind of the same thing. So I just I
don't know why when I use the popper of like
a fish, it doesn't work.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
As as much, not popping it properly.
Speaker 4 (26:15):
I guess I'm not. I don't know, but I think
it would be the same as the frog almost, you know,
but really yeah, no, no pop.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Pop and then I'll pop and then I'll do like
a little two little ones, then I'll stop, then I'll go,
then I'll do a pop. Maybe ask Corey how to
use it.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
Well, that's why I'm yeah, what do you think, Corey?
Speaker 18 (26:34):
Well, I so what I.
Speaker 30 (26:37):
Pop?
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Yeah, popping lesson.
Speaker 27 (26:41):
So normally would I do that thing? I'll I'll I'll
give it like a good chug, like a good like
you wanted to make like a lot of as much
noise as you can, so you give it a like
a hard to really say. It's like a you know,
a good chug on the water and then let it
sit right and then you kind of let it sit
for And I don't really count because I just do
it so many times. It's just it's just comes to
(27:03):
you natural. But it's just I'd say about four or
five seconds and then chug it again and then you know,
do the same thing, or you do it, you know,
you do two pops, do you know, one and then
another one and then you let it sit. You got
to kind of see how the fish want to do it.
I've had it too, where you throw it out there
and you let it sit and let the ripples go
away and you don't even touch it. You don't even
(27:24):
move it, and the thing they'll blow up on it.
You don't even move it.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
Oh wow, the show man, that is great.
Speaker 27 (27:32):
That's that's kind of you know, you got to have
a lot of patience for that. It's kind of like
you got to throw it out, smoke like two packs
of cigarettes.
Speaker 31 (27:38):
And then move it.
Speaker 27 (27:39):
You like one of those types of things excellently.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
Sure we're got a rock or clock man, but tell
us how to fish with you anytime. What's to get

Speaker 4 (34:17):
I work out with it, you know whatever.
Speaker 8 (34:19):
It's uh, it just.
Speaker 31 (34:20):
It's just it's mood setting and all that, and it
just feels good. That's all I know. Anyway, has summer
hit or what?
Speaker 8 (34:28):
Man? Is so hot?
Speaker 38 (34:31):
Man?
Speaker 9 (34:32):
How hot is it?
Speaker 5 (34:33):
It wasrees degrees deer Field. That's insane.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Yeah, that's crazy.
Speaker 40 (34:39):
Yeah, man, man, I hear that. I've been uh, I've
been sweating a bit. I've been running trips, did a
bunch of kid trips this past week. I posted I'll
tell you what, I'm so amazed that I'm still amazed
at social media. One of my customers caught a really
cool mutton snapper and I just pulled out my camera,
tell my camera, did a little short video and in
four hours it had twenty five thousand hits. I'm missing
(35:02):
something here, No, I'm not kidding. So well, you're gonna
you're gonna see we're popping a bunch of cool, stiff
stuff coming up here because people are hungry to watch
some of this stuff.
Speaker 31 (35:13):
Sure, so anyway, anyway, I'm happy to provide it.
Speaker 40 (35:17):
And I took about one hundred kids out this week
and caught them their first fish. And who else can
say that? That's all I got to say. You know
anybody else that can say that?
Speaker 31 (35:25):
Okay, hey, okay, you know what the way, we got
some fish.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
I got to send you pictures, man, because I took
my daughter and her friend out yesterday and we got
a twelve pounds snakehead.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
Man, Oh my god.
Speaker 31 (35:39):
You know they grew that big. Yeah, I know, they
grew that big.
Speaker 5 (35:42):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
And and then they got you know, we got some
peacocks and stuff that right before that storm hit.
Speaker 4 (35:48):
It was like ninety degrees. It was so hot. We
got those fish and then boom, that was it.
Speaker 40 (35:54):
She almost embarrassed to say that I've never caught a snakehead.
I haven't done enough of that freshwater fishing. However, I
got a few in some of those same canals I
grew up here in West Hollywood. They probably got them
in them everywhere, Yeah, they are. It's so, what's been
your big catch the bottom bite, the muttons or well,
(36:16):
you know, I've been doing a lot more anchor fishing,
and even even with our regular business, we've been a
concurrent so strong, and the fact that we haven't been
able to get the live bait like we were getting.
When we're not, you know, you don't catch as many
cool fish.
Speaker 31 (36:27):
You just don't.
Speaker 40 (36:29):
However, especially a late afternoon, The late afternoon king bite's
going to really fire up soon. It's uh, it's that time.
And the best way I can tell you is that
you know, as later you're get into the it's not
just kingfish, it's it's also blackfintunas it's mahi's. I think
if I were design a fishing trip, I would have
my well full of bait sitting there, and I.
Speaker 31 (36:48):
Would go out at like four thirty or five o'clock.
Speaker 9 (36:51):
And that's it.
Speaker 40 (36:52):
You just plan on fishing till eight, and that's still
not dark. But the world comes alive out there in
those hours, and nobody's left out there.
Speaker 31 (37:00):
That's what's odd.
Speaker 40 (37:02):
I remember a couple of years ago I was in
we got a thirty seven foot Topaz sports fishing boat.
We had one of those late afternoon trips, and Quentin
was sitting next near me there and at about sex
six thirty seven o'clock he caused me under rear we
both have like for sailfish. On he goes, are you
seeing this? And I said to him, I said, everywhere
(37:22):
you looked were sailfish jumping.
Speaker 31 (37:24):
What I tell you, in an hour.
Speaker 40 (37:26):
In an hour, we saw one hundred floppers just everywhere.
They were pouring through And next thing you know, it's
all black. Vintune is in. It's a magic hour. And
I would just suggest to anybody, and you don't have
to go anywhere right off Miami. You don't have to
go anywhere.
Speaker 31 (37:41):
And I would suggest that to all the sport fishing folks.
You know that I'm hearing.
Speaker 40 (37:46):
But other than that, there's still muttons in shallow water,
which is kind of cool. The water hasn't gotten too
hot yet. We had five or six this week, you know,
three to five just on a couple of trips. Really
twenty feet of water right there off right by the end.
There's a lot of structure. Listen, there's a lot.
Speaker 31 (38:02):
Listen to me.
Speaker 40 (38:03):
There's a lot of structure north of Government Cut. I'm
gonna give you guys, some insider stuff.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
You hear what you said to us? The host of
the show. Listen to me, Oh yeah, I am like
you shut up, guys, listen to me.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
Wayne, I just.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
Just taking over job.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
Brother.
Speaker 2 (38:23):
Go ahead, Wayne, we're listening to you, man.
Speaker 5 (38:26):
But nobody knows more than he does. He's on the
water every Yeah, Eric.
Speaker 31 (38:30):
More, I'm not not anymore. I'm not, thank God, but good.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
Way, I'm listening to you.
Speaker 30 (38:35):
Go ahead.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
What are you gonna say? Please? Cut you off?
Speaker 19 (38:37):
Don't.
Speaker 40 (38:37):
I don't forget anything. I'm gonna give you all a
secret to you. Take Google Earth. All right, this is
a big deal and I probably guys are gonna go
a little whack here, but it's okay. You take Google
Earth and blow up any section of of of near shore.
You're gonna see stuff you're not gonna believe. That's all
I'm gonna say. That's all I'm gonna say. And right off,
(38:58):
government cut north of the in the at the sixty
degrees you said, a bouy out there. There's a ton
of stuff dumped out there. There's pieces of this, pieces
of that. There's a couple of nice wrecks, nice barge.
That whole nice right now, there's nice muttons on them, right,
and you can fish live pilters around them.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
Stuff.
Speaker 31 (39:15):
You don't have to go way down here. There's it's
not just there.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
So what Google Earth? You say, Google shows you these
wrecks and these refail.
Speaker 31 (39:27):
Absolutely, and it will show you things that don't belong. Yeah,
it shows you. No, I'm going to show you fish.
It's going to show you things that don't belong. You'll
see a stretch that's got a little reef.
Speaker 40 (39:38):
All right, all right, you know what, guys, listen, man, listen.
You know what I part of being who I am
was always paying attention to thinking forward. And in this game,
every advantage you have can be everything around you. And
I was a diver too, and guys like used to say, well,
that's you know all this because you've been there. I said, yeah,
that's right. And that's what made me a really good
(40:01):
bottom bottom refisherman because everything from eighty or ninety foot
in that I've ever fished in my life, I've been
down and looked at Hey, Eric, One.
Speaker 12 (40:07):
Thing is, I don't know if you hook your big
screen TV or compute up to your big screen, but
if you were to put the Google Maps on you
probably could see like he's saying, a lot more detail,
although I'd say one thing that you see on the
bottom with the Google Maps is a lot of that's
a year old or two years old, so it's not
fresh dat.
Speaker 40 (40:23):
Yeah, well that's right. I think they do refresh your pictures.
But they got overlays. Googlelays right over Hall over the
nude beach, the new beach. I put Google right over it. Man,
And you saw Double talking about spotting snopper. Holy macre.
Speaker 4 (40:42):
Oh my gosh, there goes this show dog dog.
Speaker 31 (40:46):
Confuse that with your drone videos. Please stupid.
Speaker 5 (40:52):
By the way, they call that beach sausage beach because
there aren't any women there.
Speaker 2 (40:56):
Oh wait, we're going to rock the back god kids
at under Fish.
Speaker 40 (41:02):
For free man on your bat Yeah, that reward fishing
fleet on Facebook. Look, we got some special stuff this summer.
We're gonna do some slow slow pitch sessions. I think
I think I'm gonna call it slow Pitch Sunday. Anybody
wants to learn how to do it. We're gonna run
some trips, put together a bunch of tackle for people
are curious and don't want to go spending a thousand
bucks on a Roden reel and the fifty dollars jigs
(41:23):
and nobody's doing that, so you know what, nobody better
than me? So on Facebook, talk.
Speaker 9 (41:30):
To y'all later.
Speaker 2 (41:31):
The man underwater we go, Joey, do you do it?
Do some bloopies? Clippy blippi?
Speaker 9 (41:43):
We want nice right right?
Speaker 2 (41:48):
Three brain holes, Joe, that was on a great shot.
Speaker 4 (41:51):
Man, you like that?
Speaker 2 (41:52):
Three brain hole shot? Got him?
Speaker 4 (41:54):
Man got that one.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
Here's a trap. Here's the great of Sassin. Let's talk
to him, shall we?
Speaker 3 (41:59):
Let's do it.
Speaker 2 (41:59):
Ji dispatches them bath.
Speaker 4 (42:04):
Buddy, Hey, hey, how how's it going?
Speaker 20 (42:07):
Did I hear?
Speaker 2 (42:07):
Good? Dear God? You know, Jeff sent me more text
saying he's tried to shone four times for a great connection.
I don't know what kind of half assed phone you're using,
but hang out.
Speaker 41 (42:19):
We're calling you back, okay, iPhone sixteen, buddy, come out?
Speaker 2 (42:23):
Oh you got a defective one? Okay, made somewhere off
this planet.
Speaker 5 (42:27):
It's because they stacked calls back and forth.
Speaker 2 (42:29):
It's part he's just got his own phone issues because
the good Lord's paying his ass back for pritty spears
through Sleeping Puppy groupers. Okay, right through the freaking brain ples. Okay,
that really gets too deep. Well, I think by that
one shot he's put on Facebook of a group of
sleeping in a lobster trap and just snuck up on him.
He had the world to escape and he just shot him.
Speaker 5 (42:52):
I think Eric needs some type of like, yeah, it's
definitely this is out of hand.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
Yes, it's uh, let me know when sharing night trucks
Man is back on the line, shall we Is he back?
Hey Matthew, Hey buddy, are you there?
Speaker 3 (43:09):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (43:09):
I hear him, Jim. He's trying put the phone to
your head, Jim and say something, dude, dude, dude. Do
We'll just kind of kill some time while Jim's trying
to forget which button? Yeah, up and down.
Speaker 4 (43:22):
I'm sharing to some new groups by the way, I
did last night.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
Yeah yeah, I saw that.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
Pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (43:26):
But anyway, so.
Speaker 2 (43:27):
Jim had a little ras on my Facebook post. I
put him on He's back. I put him on the
Facebook post just my Friday promo and I said, he
made a comment about that's a great looking fish me
his photo. I said, if you like the photo, how
about giving the show post a like? He goes, well,
how about giving a group er a wow? So he
(43:50):
was like, he was like barbing at me, man, I
mean promoting his ass. He wants me to tell everybody wow,
but it's a grouper Wow. Get a lucky yeah, luckily Ji?
Speaker 9 (44:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (44:03):
Listen.
Speaker 41 (44:03):
Did I hear correctly Wayne saying that because he was
a diver makes him a better fisherman?
Speaker 2 (44:10):
What's down there?
Speaker 3 (44:11):
Did I hear that?
Speaker 2 (44:12):
I hear that, mistuned, You're on a different planet. Never
said that. Let's get it a good stuff rocket man, go.
Speaker 41 (44:24):
I'm gonna get I'm gonna get to the good stuff.
North current and at times has been a little bit strong,
all right, like hang on for dear life type of thing.
And we're getting a couple of thermals like this time
of year. It doesn't want to give up for whatever reason.
So that you know, you get you can literally see
it when you get down there. You're down to like
(44:45):
sixty seventy feet and all of a sudden you see
like the water change color and stuff like that, and
it kind of brings in crappy water. Visibility has just
been okay, so it'll clean out. It just takes a
little couple of weeks, man, not even a couple of days.
Speaker 9 (45:00):
It'll probably be good.
Speaker 3 (45:01):
You know, you just got to kind of hang in there.
Speaker 11 (45:03):
But here's the key.
Speaker 41 (45:05):
A lot of fish. It's been bringing in bigger, bigger fish.
My buddy Andy speared a kingfish, a kingfish in sixty
seventy feet of water off of Fort Lauderdale two days ago.
Speaker 31 (45:23):
A king fish like any size to.
Speaker 3 (45:27):
Forty three inches.
Speaker 2 (45:29):
Why did you say kingfish like ten times? What was
the big whoop about a kingfish?
Speaker 4 (45:33):
Well, I mean he got you know, spearfish.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
Hey, spearing a kingfish make you king of the reef?
Speaker 9 (45:38):
Remember that king?
Speaker 2 (45:39):
Oh man?
Speaker 23 (45:40):
And they are hard.
Speaker 3 (45:41):
They're kind of curious.
Speaker 41 (45:42):
I've only I've always speared one ever and I got
lucky because I shut it in a brain.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
Hole, you know, and it didn't move, Otherwise it would
have pulled me forever.
Speaker 2 (45:51):
But yeah, I was very curious.
Speaker 26 (45:52):
That wasn't enough.
Speaker 30 (45:55):
They're very curious.
Speaker 2 (45:56):
Thing was curious about was why does he have a
spirit in his brainhole? Think like, kay's my headed, I
got some I got some spirit right by freaking cranium.
That's what the fishes think.
Speaker 41 (46:07):
Yeah, oh yeah, we've had the muttons, the muttons have
been pretty big out here.
Speaker 3 (46:13):
Is that's good.
Speaker 41 (46:13):
The other day we were out off of Pompino and
went it was my buddy, Paul and Chucky. The three
of us were on misconduct, which is a little six
pack out of pomp A Nice.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
You're forty feet of water speared three.
Speaker 41 (46:29):
Nice size hogfish and you aren't allowed one person.
Speaker 4 (46:35):
How big were they?
Speaker 41 (46:37):
My brains some abouty eighteen eighteen inches and you know
they were no nice?
Speaker 3 (46:43):
Nice?
Speaker 8 (46:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 41 (46:43):
The issue now with hogfish is, man, you look at
them and they go, ah, You spear them and they.
Speaker 2 (46:49):
Go, there's Doug, Jimmy just sneak one of us sea fans.
They weren't even freaking move ma.
Speaker 3 (46:57):
Ain't that true?
Speaker 2 (46:59):
Freak hawk fish?
Speaker 41 (47:00):
Okay, last week whatever, last week we did spear a
nice red group of two red groupers.
Speaker 2 (47:08):
I can't I can't take any more of this. I
can't take any more of this goes to this grouper.
I have done with this conversation. Enjoy your spear hole experienced, Jim. Okay,
I'll let you.
Speaker 11 (47:19):

Guys?
Speaker 6 (54:23):
Definitely on the water today.
Speaker 2 (54:24):
I knew, I knew you had to be out there, man,
So I don't see a stitch of one here. See
what Jake Gray's place. What's it like either a flat
calm or what it is?
Speaker 6 (54:33):
Literally glass out here? See flattest of flattest I've seen
all year.
Speaker 2 (54:37):
Damn beautiful kayaker boat today.
Speaker 6 (54:40):
I'm in the boat today. I was in the kayak
yesterday and uh there was a ripping current yesterday like
three four miles an hour, so I was able to
do one little drift and got a nice sailfish. I
got my fix for the weekend, and I'm going to
stay on a larger vessel with the holiday here and
got to be a little more seen. With all the
crazies and.
Speaker 5 (55:00):
Grease in Deerfield the other day, what do you do
to stay cool on the water?
Speaker 19 (55:03):
Man?
Speaker 6 (55:05):
Uh, just stay covered up from the sun and deal
with it. Really, I work outside all week long, so
I'm pretty uh used to it.
Speaker 2 (55:13):
He's a tough guy.
Speaker 9 (55:13):
I don't want to think.
Speaker 6 (55:15):
I don't want to say immune, but you know.
Speaker 5 (55:17):
But ninety nine degrees already. Damned Yeah.
Speaker 2 (55:20):
Well, I cited site on Instagram and you were again
talking about being out there comfortably seated in your silverl
Pod three sixty. Because I just know he's coming up,
I thought i'd bring it up again the other way already. Okay,
so go ahead, how is your ass in that silver
yr pod? Ass? It's three sixty ass thing so comfortable.
Speaker 6 (55:39):
I might fish my outback in Joe's upcoming tournament. That's
how comfortable it was.
Speaker 11 (55:43):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (55:44):
Man, I've been fishing in a pro angler for ten
years now, and I might actually make the change because
of that tea.
Speaker 2 (55:50):
So this season actually got looked at some of the
prototypes during the years of development, was saying with the
Boomer Gonzalez on my dad. So it's finally the final
production came out, and it's like it looks like it's
super padded, super comfy and let you go three sixty spin,
spin and fight your fish, right.
Speaker 6 (56:07):
Yes, correct, And the comfort is yeah, but the comfort
is the number one thing for me.
Speaker 26 (56:15):
Yeah, cool, all right, So it's just unreal.
Speaker 2 (56:19):
Just you know, my co hosts just arrived back from
the fishing adventure. I heard him nothing, I got hit ahead,
big deal.
Speaker 4 (56:26):
I just did was the fish. I'm going to get
him on the next one, okay, right, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (56:30):
So you want to just ask Sean Ack question, Yes,
you missed half his conversation all the way.
Speaker 4 (56:34):
Sorry, Sean, blackfin Tuna, what do we got?
Speaker 9 (56:37):
How do we go?
Speaker 6 (56:38):
I need to know that for a lately funny story
ever about black men tuna. Tell the wife, I'm just
going to go outdat fishing last Sunday morning with my
friend Eric. We take his boat out. We had a
couple of extra minutes ago. I wrote jigging rods. I'm like,
you got to see this jig, but it's crazy. But
we already had live bait in the boats. We called
him that morning. But let's put a live bait out.
We don't have any rods, so we take one of
(57:00):
our beat rods, like the twelve foot long Sabiki rods
who used to catch beat hooker. Put a hook on there,
put her out twenty five pound black fan in the
first five minutes.
Speaker 2 (57:11):
All right, how did that rod handle that twenty five
pound black fan?
Speaker 6 (57:14):
Being a skinny little they handled pretty good, had no
problem getting around the motors in the back, had plenty
of lengths of it.
Speaker 23 (57:20):
Wow.
Speaker 26 (57:21):
Yeah, it was fun to get it. You know, it
was so far away, but yeah, it.
Speaker 6 (57:25):
Was just is that no fish like that? It makes
it more fun.
Speaker 2 (57:29):
The same league as when Benny had a guy bring
a fly rod on his boat. The difference is these guys,
these guys are good fishermen and know what they're doing.
Where the fly guy was a totally he had no
idea about saltwater.
Speaker 8 (57:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (57:43):
Yeah, So who'd you go with? Eric Clark?
Speaker 6 (57:47):
Uh no, my other friend Eric today? Tournament fish Okay, Okay,
I got you.
Speaker 4 (57:51):
Wow, that's awesome, Sean good. So the though is pretty
good in Pompting.
Speaker 6 (57:57):
Yeah, yeah, I know, it's been a good bite. See
what happens here today? I know John Stackhouse got one Thursday,
like twenty two pounds his kayak.
Speaker 2 (58:05):
Nice is it?
Speaker 3 (58:07):
Is it?
Speaker 6 (58:08):
It's just heating up too.
Speaker 2 (58:09):
So yeah, I was just gonna say, like, is it
the full blown jumbos yet or is it still kind
of kind of spot.
Speaker 6 (58:16):
It's big fish. I mean we got you know, we've
probably got half a dozen fisharity that are mid twenty
in the upper twenties.
Speaker 8 (58:24):
Nice.
Speaker 6 (58:24):
It's not like you're going out and getting four jumbos
here yet like in Palm Beach they are. So hopefully
the bite still holds for the tournament.
Speaker 4 (58:31):
Yeah, a couple of weeks.
Speaker 2 (58:33):
So what he's doing is pre fishing for your big
which we haven't plugged yet. Your tournament covering up here
in June coming so quick. The socker's coming fast, so
I'm sure he's all set for that bad yea week yeah,
two weeks wow, two weeks man, busy man show between
family affairs and tournaments. You're a busy boy man. I
have no idea. I think I may have a slight clue.
(58:56):
But anyway, well, se I wants to go back to
your businessman to catch him up out there, buddy good Yeah,
do it, tear them up and enjoy your lovely silverpod
three sixty and thank you. Okay about all right, nobody's
want to start my bucket, yead, I'm gonna not Okay,
the question may have been a little tough, but I'm
(59:16):

just waking up right, uh okay. Long term Florida Keys

I was actually getting I was getting on my football clothes,
back on my Jets T shirts. I was getting them all,
doing laundry and stuff, getting them.
Speaker 3 (01:05:15):
Ready for the season.
Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
You say Jets T shirts? Really? Seriously?
Speaker 4 (01:05:20):
Wow, he's excited.
Speaker 2 (01:05:22):
She gave him on those knuckleheads.
Speaker 9 (01:05:23):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:05:23):
No, you're back on the board.
Speaker 4 (01:05:24):
Uh okay whatever, Wow, no Rogers, no problem, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:05:28):
Right, yeah exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
It was justin Fields. Who Yeah he's still there. Uh
I don't know, is he? That's what he said? Yeah,
still there? Okay anyway, Betty, So let me ask you
a question.
Speaker 47 (01:05:39):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:05:39):
I'm fishing Wednesday for tuna fish. Going on Double D
with Dean Panos, with my two sons and doing a
seven to one trip. What's my shot and getting tuna fish?
Do you think, man?
Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
Your what area are they in down in Miami?
Speaker 2 (01:05:54):
Right, we're because out of uh sy uh yeah Miami
say that way, yeah, kest Point.
Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
Seems like the tune has been pretty thick.
Speaker 7 (01:06:04):
I mean every day is different, so you know, if
you have a slow day, you can't hold it against
the guy. But at the same time, it's the best
time of the year for tuna fishing down here in Florida.
Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
How about that, Joe, The best time of the year
for tuna fishing. Which I'm going to tell you something.
It's almost bunch in your tournament, which is two weeks away.
So I'm excited, man, I'm really excited. Oh yeah, you
better get some tuna. Though on this trip you've been
really like, you know, this trip ain't cheap, okay, so
I better get some damn from my money, honey boy.
It's so funny, Benny, that one of our captains said
(01:06:35):
that our captain Dean does to catch fish that he
basically sucks. Who called him out like that? Like you
call another captain like suck? Really? Wow, man, that'd be
bad on our show, Betty on the show A Live Man.
Benny's like, yeah, really, anyway, let's talk talk about your boach, Betty,
(01:06:56):
talk about your boach. What's man catch you, bet.
Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
So.
Speaker 7 (01:07:00):
Yeah, it's been a very productive week. Really, it's uh,
it's all about meat fish right now. This time of
the year, we're getting a lot of kingfish, a lot
of tuna, a lot of mahi. An unusual a lot
of mahi for this time of the year. Usually we're
waiting a couple more weeks for him to show up
pretty thick. Yeah, it's been pretty productive.
Speaker 42 (01:07:18):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:07:19):
We got a nice, big, fat red grouper the other
day on a jig Wait was that? I don't even know?
Speaker 2 (01:07:25):
He didn't shoot. Yeah, one of the random random groupers
of Jim Matthew didn't dispatch the spears of the brain hole.
Speaker 4 (01:07:32):
You can't get that out of you.
Speaker 2 (01:07:33):
I can't stand it.
Speaker 3 (01:07:34):
Anyway.
Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
It's not a bad batch of fish though, man, So
I would seen mahi too, Benny. I just lot of
guys posts. They've been kind of swingers and not anything
the size to talk about. But I guess you know
what the hell, man, five of those babies make a
good meal. Joy yeah, exactly, think especially when you catch
one in five swim right up to the boat, so excusy. Yeah,
you know, I think about this, Joe. It doesn't take
(01:07:55):
very many mahi to make a meal, okay, I mean
just two swingers. Lay him up. There's plenty of fish, man.
Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
I'm still seeing guys laying out, like twenty of them
that are like the size of my pinky. There is
a bag a little bit, there's a fish. But whatever,
I'm not gonna get out of it. They glow so
fast too, you know, it's like they give a chance.
Just give them a little shot, Give a little chance,
at little shot. You know, it's a little here you go. Well,
you asked about the wahoo, I mean, asked Benny about
(01:08:23):
who yet asked about?
Speaker 4 (01:08:25):
Well you already did.
Speaker 2 (01:08:26):
I didn't ask someone. Did you ask him? Could you
ask him?
Speaker 4 (01:08:30):
Benny?
Speaker 2 (01:08:33):
Somebody's so difficult, Joe, how's the wahoo? Thank you?
Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
I haven't seen a wahoo this week. I almost forgot
what they look like.
Speaker 4 (01:08:41):
See this is why I haven't asked. I only ask
if I see him in my feed.
Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
Oh, I got you, Cad.
Speaker 4 (01:08:47):
You know, if I don't see him?
Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
Asking about some other fishing. Maybe you've seen in your feed.
Speaker 4 (01:08:51):
Well, I have seen kingfish, and I've seen some pretty
big ones. But I don't know if it's if it's
like hot or if it's spotty. So, Benny, where are
we at with the kings?
Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:09:00):
I mean it's weird because we're having our little pushes
of them coming through. Usually we've had way bigger, better
pushes of kingfish by now, so they are not to
say spotty, because they are very consistent. Right now, you
could probably catch them every day they're around. But some
days you can go out there and catch a lot
and you can't keep your planers down.
Speaker 3 (01:09:19):
It can't keep a deep bait in the water. Some
days it's just pick at one or two and then
go try something else.
Speaker 2 (01:09:25):
You know, I'm gonna ask Betty this question. Okay, Betty's
a pretty smart guy. Hey, Betty's a nickname for people
who've been long term residents of the forty Keys alone,
they have a nickname. What do they their nickname? Down there?
Speaker 3 (01:09:38):
Betty?
Speaker 2 (01:09:38):
They called mangrove mates. Are they called conks? Are they
called bud besties? What do your shot would be that one?
Speaker 3 (01:09:46):
Mmm?
Speaker 7 (01:09:47):
I mean, when I think a counk. When I think
of counk, I think of the Bahamas. Yeh see yeah, yeah,
I would say that's the answer. But I think Conky
is like Bahamas.
Speaker 5 (01:09:59):
No, but he does this, Joe mates.
Speaker 4 (01:10:02):
No, man, Eric, this is a question for like a
local key guy.
Speaker 3 (01:10:07):
I was in the Keys yesterday morning. I'm practically a local.
Speaker 4 (01:10:09):
Oh there you go, Mark the.
Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
Streams saying I'm right, Okay, they're called cocks. Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:10:17):
Tell the call is Eric.
Speaker 5 (01:10:18):
Okay, because Joe, he was asking you to ask questions. Normally,
Eric's telling you to shut up. I know he's asking
you to ask questions. So he check his temperature.
Speaker 4 (01:10:26):
Bro, he's a little a little off, He's all right.
Speaker 2 (01:10:29):
Jeff goes on the stream key West. This is see
how I have support here. Harry, get Jeff and I
forty just sent me like a text. He goes. Just
so you know, key West High School mascot is called
cos Okay.
Speaker 5 (01:10:42):
So there you go, called cos cos.
Speaker 30 (01:10:46):
Hawk.
Speaker 2 (01:10:46):
The mascots called a cock. Okay anyway, Benny, so your
boys are out today, man, uh, water temperatures, but the
problem because it has been hot, as sells that affective
fishing at all in your opinion.
Speaker 3 (01:10:57):
Yeah, yeah, it does. I mean, is this time of
the year.
Speaker 7 (01:10:59):
Once water starts heating up, it makes the bite a
little tougher, makes it harder to find and catch the fish.
They tend to sit down a little deeper. Your morning
bite will end a little quicker, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:11:10):
It's that's that time of the year.
Speaker 2 (01:11:12):
So while you're turning up with Joe, the water should
be like one hundred and eighty five degrees man.
Speaker 5 (01:11:18):
Man, yeah, are you going to the game tonight?
Speaker 15 (01:11:22):
So?
Speaker 7 (01:11:22):
I do actually still have my tickets, and I was
going to list them up for sale. I have one
of my friend's daughter's graduation parties that I was committed
to going to. Oh, so I don't want to count
my chickens before they hatch.
Speaker 3 (01:11:34):
But it's serious.

late running. Trip we fished until about three, thirty and
by three thirty we were JUST i, MEAN i THINK
i drank about fourteen bottles of, water and you, know
and it's just it's, brutal you, know and right now
(01:24:27):
there's not a lot of, wind so it just makes
for an undesirable fishing. Day if you can't stand in the,
heat and not a lot of people.
Speaker 28 (01:24:38):
Can fishing is, good it's not.
Speaker 8 (01:24:41):

Oxygen levels in the water, up you, know because they
basically have sat stagnant for you, know.
Speaker 4 (01:24:53):
Months now we've gone in a.
Speaker 49 (01:24:55):
Drought so, YEAH i think we get a little bit
more of that. Rain did you nate the water a little?
Bit the fish will be happier and, uh and it
should be a good. Summer and it looks like we're
about to get into you, know getting rain at least
for the next ten. Days it looks like we're gonna
basically get rain every day or every other day at about.

With no sun and the water it's it's.
Speaker 8 (01:25:51):
Actually kind of.
Speaker 49 (01:25:51):

Speaker 49 (01:26:13):
All lightning is a different.
Speaker 4 (01:26:15):
Story you.
Speaker 49 (01:26:16):
Know we're holding graft bite rods that are conductive to,
electricity so we don't really fish in the. Lightning but
if it's just like a long rainstorm where it rains
most of the, Day i'm looking forward to fishing in those.
Speaker 8 (01:26:32):

Speaker 2 (01:34:59):
Know so it's Almost.
Speaker 51 (01:35:00):
June we're looking at thirty percent chances showers and storms,
today sunny of the high near eighty six southeast winds
five to ten seas around two feet inner coastal water
is a light. Chop tomorrow fifty percent chance of, showers
mostly sunny with a higher eighty six southeast winds ten
to fifteen seas around tooth feet inner coastal waters a moderate.
(01:35:20):
CHOP i looked Into monday because a lot of people
have it, off and it's about the same slight.
Speaker 28 (01:35:24):
Chances storms hides.
Speaker 51 (01:35:25):
In the mid eighties with sea conditions pretty. Decent and
The Keys today thirty percent chance of showers and, storms
sunny with a high near eighty six east southeast winds
five to ten seas around a foot near shore water
smooth to a light. Chop On sunday thirty percent chance
and showers and storms mostly sunny or eighty six, east
southeast winds ten to, fifteen seas one to three feet
(01:35:48):
near shore water's a moderate. Chop and then In Florida
bay today southeast winds five to, ten scattered, storms and
then tomorrow saying southeast winds around, ten scattered. Storms so
just watch out for the storms if you're heading out
on the, water but otherwise.
Speaker 2 (01:36:03):
Beautiful one of our captains, Mentioned, jen we're in for
a ten day rain streak. Here what have you heard about?
That we used to got a freight coming through or
what's the deal with that deal?
Speaker 51 (01:36:13):
Thing, YEAH i think it's more has to do with the,
wind the wind patterns down. THERE i was looking at
it Because i'm coming in this week to.
Speaker 4 (01:36:21):
Do the dive, show and, oh look at.
Speaker 3 (01:36:24):
That.
Speaker 51 (01:36:24):
WOW i know you have a slight chance of rain each,
day which isn't that to? Me it looks more of
like the summer, season you, know where you have hides
in the mid eighties chance of rain each. Day it's
just that, stubborn you, know when you got the east
wind pulls in those. Storms so that's basically.
Speaker 2 (01:36:47):
It did you say you're coming down this way to
film For destination. Dive is that?

his boats at that brand. News they got what's name
of that boat he's on THE.
Speaker 11 (01:38:24):
I tell you. What it's two, Captains Brian epstein And George,
clark both of them Because george has a little back
counky fish and whatso else were. Filling they want me
to run the, boat But i'm retired. Now i'm not
running any. Boat i'm in the. Cock but, anyway it's
called A Papa wahoo P A P A P. O i'm,
sorry P O P P a W a h O.
O you can get us on the website At Papa
(01:38:46):
wahoo dot. Com and you can see it's a beautiful,
boat fifty four. Hatters And i've been on a lot
of boat Since i've been. Retired it's What i've been.
Doing And i'm putting the people call. Me just Because i'm,
retired doesn't mean that people know. That they even call
me from all the. Country fifty five years with the
clients of, Court, yeah fifty five. Years and SO i
put them on different, BOATS i explained to, him and they, said, Well,
(01:39:07):
skip will you come? Along AND i. DO i go
along on the boats And i've had a good time
riding along with the deck hands and the captains and
of course the client tele and THEN i get. IT
i was at a, thing a funeral for The epstein's,
Dad Bob, epstein or, writer and they asked me if
i'd be interested coming along with them about four months,
ago asked me about coming with them and doing an
exclusive with them and being the. Pig AND i, said
(01:39:28):
you know, WHAT i took elect to that, boat and,
Boy i'm spoiled. NOW i can't tell you it. Is
it is, superb but it's, superb And i'm having a great.
Time and it's a, nice big comfortable that's got three thousand.
HORSEPOWER i don't mean doing three thousand horse. POWER i
had two hundred and forty horsepower in my, boat but,
anyway they had three. Thousand, now And i'll tell you
(01:39:49):
what's happening out there right. Now i'm going to tell
You i'm going to be good at doing this, show you,
know once a, week but if, sometime If i'm not
out that time at some time and put you much
clock ought Of Brian, epstein But i'm gonna try and
be on the show the best they can BECAUSE i
don't to stay on top of. It what's happening out
there is the mayi all over the, place from about
eight miles, out which is about three under foot of,
(01:40:11):
water all the way out to a thousand foot of
water The mahia there and probably, further but you don't
have to go any. Further they're not the big ones.
Yet they're all twenty one twenty two, inches but we
know The. Mayi they grow. Rapidly so another month and
now this fish will be a heavy. Lifters right now they're,
lifters and another month to be heavy, lifters being like
four or five pound. Fish and then after that you
put the gift in them because if there's the seven eight,
(01:40:32):
pounds a good chance you're gonna shave them. Off so
there's different things you got to do For but, BOY
i tell, you fish has a lot of fun out
there right, now and, everybody not just one part of,
town all the way down the boys In. MARATHON i
checked with them all the key logo and the fishing's
on fire right.
Speaker 23 (01:40:45):
Now, wow right.
Speaker 2 (01:40:47):
Man so besides my he skipped you guys see. That
guess out they're selfish popping. There maybe some uh blackfintuna
good bottom bite or to the bite, whatever what's.
Speaker 8 (01:40:55):
Happening, well there you.
Speaker 11 (01:40:56):
Go here's what we do in the. Morning it's what
we're doing on this butt right.
Speaker 9 (01:40:59):
Now we're.
Speaker 11 (01:40:59):
Headed sure we get out three four hundred foot of,
water pull It backstine runs like like the scrape. Date
but tell you, anyway you get out there about three
hundred foot of, water pull it back and head to
the mountain The almorada humping and make. It you, know
a bunch of turns on that for the black fin,
tuna just to start. It because on the way out
and you catch the tuna or. Not and if we catch,
them they're not big, ones not like you're talking about
(01:41:20):
in your radio show with twenty five pounds live bait.
Tuna these are tun that we catch on the feathers
and all like. That we don't stop for the live
bait right. Now we're not, anyway and we catch whatever's
the if they're. Biding if they're, not then then we
go off. Sure if they, biden we stay a little
bit longer off. Sure from there then you start finding the.
Maha and actually you find a maha from three hundred
foot on, out so it's it's been. Good now what
we do is the end of the, day not at
(01:41:41):
the end of the, day but somewhere, after say we
have twenty to fifteen to twenty malehi in the. Boat
we go ahead and hoghtailed back to the, reef get
there about one o'clock or, so and throw the hook
and catch the Giant YEAH i mean not giant, anymore
forget that, Anyway nice size yellow, tail nice sized yellow.
Tail we catch fifteen to twenty does so we got twenty.
Twenty i'm mirking in about fifteen to twenty yellow. Tail
(01:42:02):
and we get back to, dock tie the boat and
take the, pictures and There's george AND i cleared the.
Fish he AND i jump on the fish. Together if
he's if he's with. Me so it's it's been really.
Good people love it and we love being out there with.
Him i'll tell, You i'm having a.
Speaker 2 (01:42:15):
Ball, awesome. Man he has ever dropped to the bottom
of all when you have fish at. ALL i, mean
look for group.
Speaker 11 (01:42:21):
Now, yeah we got these New this boat's got everything out.
There this boat's going to Polly, ridge by the.
Speaker 8 (01:42:26):
WAY i don't if you know about.
Speaker 11 (01:42:27):
That that's down off Of Key west here ninth Of,
december and they've got all this fancy stuff they're put
