Speaker 2 (00:03):
See you and the sound is good and they can
feel that you're in the moment with them, and that
would be in a smaller venue. And when I was
a kid, I went to a lot of clubs, and
I saw a lot of bands and clubs. I always
connected with that feeling that that was like, Oh, the
band is here, and we're here, and we're all breathing
the same air, and they're in it and we're in
it together, and I love that.

Speaker 9 (02:33):
Nice surpress and I walked in instead.

Speaker 8 (02:37):
Hey, we're gonna have fun though, funny because I.

Speaker 9 (02:39):
Actually thought about dressing up like Eric and then.

Speaker 12 (02:42):

Speaker 10 (02:45):
Yeah, yeah, we don't want to do that. So we
got Steven right or Jimbo? Sorry, jim line one right?

Speaker 13 (02:53):

Speaker 10 (02:53):
Is it too early? Oh wait, I'm checking the time
right now. Oh yeah, we're too early.

Speaker 8 (02:57):
Okay, anyway, I'll tell you more about the tournament.

Speaker 10 (02:59):
Yeah, I'll talk about the tournament. Oh is he there, Jimbo?

Speaker 11 (03:04):
Yeah, I'm here.

Speaker 10 (03:05):
My word, mister Jimbo. He is a jim geez.

Speaker 11 (03:10):
Even though air Snidner, you got to do that stuff,
I know.

Speaker 10 (03:14):
So how's it going, man?

Speaker 11 (03:16):
It's going.

Speaker 13 (03:18):
Been out a couple of days this week. Been a
little breezy, though not like terrible, but it's been a
little choppier than what I like. And it looks like
it's going to be more the same today. Fish has
just been so so. The dolphin fishing was pretty good
last week and over the last weekend, and there's still

(03:39):
some out there. You just got to get lucky you
find the right thing. But it doesn't seem as consistent
as it was last week. We were catching quite a
few schoolies. And also it was really calm last week,
so you could see stuff floating and the bird activity
was very obvious. But with the little choppy it's not
been as easy to see.

Speaker 11 (03:59):
That kind of stuff.

Speaker 13 (04:00):
But there have been some dolphin cap but most of
us have just been fishing the edge, so one hundred
to two hundred and fifty feet of water, say, and
we've been putting the kite south. It's been fairly productive.
Yesterday we did have a few dolphins along the edge,
nothing big, but a couple keepers. There's been some kinkfish,

(04:23):
there's been a few sails. We had four sailfish bites,
so it's still half way decent, and some banitas and
miscellaneous other stuff. And there's still a chance at a
tuna or two black fin tuna. And on Thursday there
was a big yellowfin tuna cut off mindy, roughly one

(04:44):
hundred and forty pounds, so that's a spectacular, awesome catch.

Speaker 12 (04:50):
Wow.

Speaker 11 (04:50):
So you never know when something like that's gonna pop up.
So the addition's been all right.

Speaker 13 (04:56):
It's you know, there's been plenty of wind to get
the kite up bait. It's been fairly consistent, so you
can't catch up sitting on the couch.

Speaker 10 (05:06):
That's true, man, I'll tell you we with my tournament
I had last weekend, it was actually kind of slow.

Speaker 8 (05:12):
I was.

Speaker 10 (05:12):
I was surprised. We had a couple uh jumbo blackfin.
But you know, in years past, I keep an almanac
of that event and we usually always have a lot
more tuna. And now I don't know if maybe because
I did it in early it's actually always in early June.
But yeah, man, I just noticed the blackfin was a
little weak, and.

Speaker 14 (05:33):
There the water temperatures different, like when you're comparing notes.

Speaker 8 (05:36):
No, it's I.

Speaker 10 (05:37):
Really compare like the the moon and the tides and
everything was pretty much set up the same.

Speaker 8 (05:44):
So uh yeah, I mean the king, we had a
big king, but there.

Speaker 10 (05:48):
Wasn't many so so yeah, Jim, but where are they
getting the kings at?

Speaker 8 (05:52):
How deep?

Speaker 11 (05:54):
One hundred feet more or less? There's uh, you know,
we had one out one hundred and fifty pet yesterday
we had one on one hundred feet, So there's some
of them being caught controlling the planers and then.

Speaker 13 (06:10):
Some of them being caught on the live baits. The
problem with trolling and with light bait right now.

Speaker 11 (06:16):
Is the seaweed has been so bad coming through that you.

Speaker 13 (06:20):
Can't troll for ten feet planers or seaweed magnets.

Speaker 11 (06:25):
It seems so it's We did catch a few fish
on the planers, but it was just hard to do
it because there's so much seaweed. And then when we
put the light baits out, we had to search for
an area that had less seaweed. And you know your
live baits their seed, they're like attracted to the seaweed

(06:49):
like a magnet as well. You know, you put that
light bait out there and he's out of his element.
He's looking for some to heighten. If there's one piece
of seaweed, they.

Speaker 13 (06:59):
Go for that that that like it goes in there
to hide. Well, they had ten thousand options the last
few days. So the seaweed's man a painted the butt
and it's it's not been our friend.

Speaker 11 (07:12):
You know.

Speaker 13 (07:13):
I get my customers all the time and say, oh, man,
look at the seaweed. We're gonna catch dolf, And I'm
like no. Unfortunately, doesn't work that way.

Speaker 11 (07:20):
No.

Speaker 10 (07:22):
Man there. Yeah, a lot of the guys were saying
that during the event too. And then I actually had
family in town, so we we went just off the
beach to try to get a snug and we couldn't
even fish there was so much seaweed. I was just done.

Speaker 14 (07:35):
We went to the beach and notice that as well,
and it's everywhere up the coast.

Speaker 15 (07:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (07:40):
Yeah, it's a yearly thing, you know, And it comes
and goes. It comes in waves, and we've just got
a wave of it pushing through it.

Speaker 13 (07:50):
It could be pushed through today, who knows, but not likely.
But the current has been moving fast. So even though
we find a relatively clear area, it didn't last long
that the move the week would move in on you. Now,
the big fish they don't care. They they swim and

(08:10):
live and eat.

Speaker 11 (08:11):
Through that stuff. It's just tough keeping our baits clean.
And you'll still get a bite with your bait with
seaweed in it.

Speaker 13 (08:17):
And you know, if a sailfish is chasing the bait
and it goes into seaweed for some cover, he's still
going to eat it. And it's no different if our
kite bait has seaweed on it. They're just like, you know,
we've hided in the seaweed. But it's just it's a
it's a lot of work, yeah, man.

Speaker 10 (08:35):
And what about the Wahoo? Anything on Wahoo? Because I
haven't heard anything.

Speaker 11 (08:41):
There were a couple of them caught earlier in the
of the week, small ones on.

Speaker 13 (08:45):
The planers, but again, and a lot of it's this week.
There hasn't been a lot of fishing activity. You know,
we're only at a couple of days. It's not like
there's been a ton of boats out every day. So yes,
there's while who's out there, especially coming off of last
week's full moon. Yeah, but you know, I don't know

(09:07):
if they're catching them up in Pompino or not, because
that's where along our coast here, that's where they seem
to catch the most of them. But there's only been
a couple of them called this week that I'm aware
of off Miami a Leaes.

Speaker 10 (09:19):
And that was like sporadic, not like a certain area
depth or anything like that.

Speaker 11 (09:23):
Correct.

Speaker 13 (09:24):
Yeah, they're just trolling the planers, trying to catch a
king or whatever the heck wants to fight. You know,
when when we troll the planers. You know, we're not
we're hoping to catch a wahoo or a kingfish, but
you never know what my fight yesterday we had the
planers out with the sea witch and a Banita strip,
which is kind of like the standard trolling setup, and

(09:48):
I got into about eighty feet of water and we
get a fish on and it's pulling line. I'm like, man,
we got a good fish.

Speaker 11 (09:54):
Here.

Speaker 13 (09:55):
It comes up.

Speaker 11 (09:56):
It was a twelve pound mutton staffer.

Speaker 12 (09:59):
Oh man, I.

Speaker 8 (10:00):
Was actually just going to get into that the bottom fishing.

Speaker 13 (10:03):
So man, well he ate, he ate the seawitch and
the Bonita strip while we're trolling that five or six
miles an hour. And I know we weren't on the
bottom where you know we were, you know, probably twenty
five feet off the bottom, so he had to come
up aways eat it. But what I'm getting at, you

(10:24):
never know what's gonna bite when you're trolling out there.
So it's not like we're we're wallo fishing. We're we're
just fishing for whatever whatever we drag our baits over.

Speaker 10 (10:34):
That's why I like bottom fishing. Man, Like I like,
especially with the kids, like we'll go out bottom fishing
and like we'll go like for you know, yellow tail
or whatever, but you can get so many.

Speaker 14 (10:45):
Other it doesn't match bottom fish. It's just anything you
can hook anything.

Speaker 16 (10:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (10:50):
Yeah, So Jimbo, how is the bottom fishing though, Like
in general, how's it been?

Speaker 13 (10:55):
I'm not great, I would say, okay, Yeah, this time
of the year, the winter months, is when the bottom
fishing is the best. That's when when there's a lot
of bait up on the reef and that's when your
groupers and your snappers come up there. Yes, there is
some bottom fishing, but this time of the year most
everybody that goes out there is heading offshore looking for dolphin. Yeah,

(11:19):
so there's not a lot of people targeting at bottom fish.
That doesn't mean they're not out there, but you know,
and ourselves that's the top water fishing has been good
enough to where we haven't dropped on any of the recks.
We don't really troll the reef this sum of the year.
We wait till it gets cold. So, yeah, there's a

(11:41):
grouper or snapper to be caught, you just got to
get out there and do it. And none of us
have really been targeting that stuff.

Speaker 10 (11:49):
Right and circling back to the mahi mahi we were
talking about earlier. Are they getting like bigger ones or
are they all just kind of small even though they're
catching them?

Speaker 11 (12:02):
A lot of throwbacks. So like last Saturday when we talked,
I was doing that PBA.

Speaker 13 (12:07):
Tournament and we caught a lot of fish, but we
kept fifteen schoolies. We saw lots of them, but they're
way offshore.

Speaker 11 (12:19):
So when you mentioned with your kayak tournament you.

Speaker 13 (12:21):
Didn't really see any dolphin, well, the ones we were catching,
we didn't really catch it until we're fifteen miles off shore,
so way out of your kayak rage.

Speaker 11 (12:29):
I guess, yeah, a lot of a lot of small ones.
Our biggest fish was.

Speaker 13 (12:34):
Seven pounds, and there have been a couple of bigger
fish caught throughout the week, but for the most part
they've been schoolies, gotcha. I mean, you never know when
a big one is going to pop up, of course,
and you're catching a big one's not the hard part.

Speaker 11 (12:52):
It's finding one.

Speaker 13 (12:53):
So once you find them, unless you have tackle failure
or something, you're most likely going.

Speaker 11 (12:59):
To catch them.

Speaker 10 (13:00):
How'd you get it?

Speaker 13 (13:02):
We ended up we had third place and the top
lady angler, and I think, yeah, you know they got lucky.

Speaker 11 (13:16):
We'll take you know, I'd like to believe it was skill,
but it was.

Speaker 14 (13:19):
Lucky yourself on the back and just keep yeah.

Speaker 13 (13:27):
But you know again me, come on, anybody can catch
a big dolphin.

Speaker 11 (13:33):
You just got to find him. And you can't beat
five places at once.

Speaker 13 (13:36):
And if there's not a big one where you're at,
you're not going to catch a big one. So I
think you weigh three fish, and our three fish probably
weighed like I didn't see for sure, but like eighteen pounds,
so we had a seven pounder and maybe two five pounders.

Speaker 11 (13:55):
The top boat. The top boat had the biggest fish,
which typically out works, which was around fifteen pounds, so
they probably had twenty five pounds, and then second place,
I'm guessing was within pounds or ounces of us. But

(14:16):
either way, it was a fun tournament. Everybody had a
great time.

Speaker 13 (14:20):
All the boats. There's roughly thirty boats in this tournament.
It sounds like everybody called fish, which is the way
it's supposed to be a fish the way.

Speaker 8 (14:31):
Yeah, that's what.

Speaker 10 (14:31):
Makes it fun. And I'm glad you had had a
good time. Good job on getting birth. All right, Well

Speaker 14 (19:16):
So I'm obviously sitting here it's not Eric Brandon. So
anybody watching us online, they're probably going, where is Eric.
Eric's under the weather, not feeling the greatest. Yeah, but yeah,
he gave I got the call. I think it was
about nine o'clock last night.

Speaker 9 (19:28):
But the best ones.

Speaker 14 (19:29):
When I went, well, he kind of like led me on.
It was like one of those like you know, like
maybe I'll take you out to dinner on a date,
but i'll let you know later kind of thing. And
it wasn't until like nine o'clock that he really was
like I'm done, I can't do this.

Speaker 8 (19:41):
Might have no voice.

Speaker 14 (19:43):
And when I walked in, that explains all because you
didn't even know I was coming.

Speaker 10 (19:46):
No, alright, so we need to call Uh, Carlos is
what I guess Corey's not picking up from what I'm
just being told right now.

Speaker 9 (19:57):
And Carlos our is our backup to Corey?

Speaker 10 (19:59):
Yeah? And where?

Speaker 8 (20:00):
And what is?

Speaker 14 (20:01):
What are we looking at when we're talking to him
about fishing? Like what does he go out for?

Speaker 10 (20:04):
Oh so I forget the name of it. Yeah, okay,
so I'm trying to figure all this out here. Anyway,
let's just talk about the tournament again.

Speaker 8 (20:16):
I'm just gonna go into all of.

Speaker 10 (20:18):
The winners or I'll go into like first place, okay,
because I think he's calling in but I didn't get
anything from.

Speaker 9 (20:25):
So your tournament was last week? Where was it at?

Speaker 11 (20:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (20:28):
So that was right at Popato Beach. That was our
summer Slam. Okay, so we have two summer slams. The
big one is coming up August ninth. That's like the
grand finale for the year. We got like thirty guys
from Hawaii coming really yeah.

Speaker 9 (20:41):
And this last one you had Australia.

Speaker 10 (20:43):
Yeah, Arizona, Australia, Arizona, North Carolina.

Speaker 8 (20:46):
That's awesome. Actually both Carolina's New York.

Speaker 9 (20:49):
That's amazing.

Speaker 8 (20:50):
And then we have a group from Seattle coming for
part two.

Speaker 9 (20:53):
Oh no, so Hawaii and Seattle.

Speaker 10 (20:56):
Yeah, it's it's amazing.

Speaker 9 (20:57):
That is awesome.

Speaker 10 (20:58):
First place was an angler named John Stackhouse and he
killed it. He went out there and this guy he's
been fishing my tournaments, I say, for a couple of years,
but he's always like worked really hard. You could tell
he's like one of those guys that just tries to
just do well every time, maximize what he has.

Speaker 8 (21:19):
And he caught his first salefish.

Speaker 10 (21:21):
I remember everyone was getting like text messages, they were like,
you know, screaming form stuff. He was so excited and
he came in. This was a brand new winner for
the tournament.

Speaker 8 (21:30):
That's awesome.

Speaker 10 (21:31):
And yeah, he caught a jumbo blackfin tuna and a
big kingfish and he won three thousand dollars from Nautical
Ventures Star Break and.

Speaker 9 (21:41):
Yes, that is awesome.

Speaker 10 (21:42):
Yeah, very whoa very very cool and uh and second
place was David Guzin's and I never say his last
name right, So he's gonna get really mad at me
if he's watching this, which I think he is.

Speaker 14 (21:55):
I bet you he has corrected people his holy Guzins Gosins.

Speaker 8 (21:59):
Oh, I think it's Goza's. Actually yeah, I think it's Gozen.

Speaker 10 (22:02):
But he caught two nice kingfish and and I'll tell
you so, Warren, he builds our like custom trophies.

Speaker 8 (22:09):
He made this beautiful like mahi.

Speaker 10 (22:11):
Mahi trophy for oh yeah, for second place.

Speaker 8 (22:16):
So he got that beautiful trophy.

Speaker 10 (22:17):
He got a hobie outback from Nautical Ventures and and
he cleaned up he killed it that amazing yeah, seventy
dollars gift card for what's it called for lucky fish
right on the beach there. So and another thing we
added to that event was this big like CrossFit competition.
So at the end we did a tug of war

(22:39):
with the anglers versus the CrossFit guys.

Speaker 9 (22:43):
Oh that's fun.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
That's a lot of fun.

Speaker 8 (22:45):
Who won the CrossFit guys?

Speaker 9 (22:47):
Oh, come on, they can let it go.

Speaker 10 (22:49):
Well, I wasn't part of it, so I like, I
really wanted to jump in there and be like one
of the guys on the kayak team, but I just
I couldn't get to it because we were doing it
all the way and all of a sudden, the but
I really wanted to jump in.

Speaker 8 (23:02):
But yeah, so.

Speaker 10 (23:03):
They won all these gift cards for Lucky Fish right
on the beach, and it's just it was just a
good event, you know what I mean, solid, and the
weather was great for you guys.

Speaker 8 (23:11):
Everything was good.

Speaker 10 (23:12):
And now we're just uh, we're preparing for part two.

Speaker 8 (23:15):
And part two is when August ninth, August August.

Speaker 10 (23:19):
Yeah, and it's coming up like right around the corner.

Speaker 14 (23:21):
So all the summer goes by really fast when you're
having fun on the water.

Speaker 10 (23:26):
And then we're also planning a fishing kids camp and
that is coming up in July, like around mid July.
We don't have the dates yet. We're still trying to
like get all the little stuff, you know, prepped out.

Speaker 8 (23:41):
Yeah, you know, when you work with kids, I'm learning
like really fast. You have to on the back.

Speaker 10 (23:47):
End, like fingerprinting and you know long background show.

Speaker 9 (23:53):
Yeah, safety measures they have to go into play.

Speaker 10 (23:55):
So when we bring in these like camp counselors, yes, yes, yes,
the vetting is like.

Speaker 9 (24:01):
Oh completely absolutely, it's for the kids.

Speaker 10 (24:04):
Yeah, and it's good. Trust me.

Speaker 8 (24:06):
You don't want you know, a crazy person coming in.

Speaker 10 (24:09):
And uh, what's great about it though, is that with
this camp we're going to bring in like guest speakers.

Speaker 8 (24:15):
And you know some of the captains from this show.

Speaker 9 (24:18):
How long will it be for?

Speaker 8 (24:19):
So it's going to be for a week, So we're
going to try fool very cool.

Speaker 10 (24:23):
Yeah, So any of our fans out there, if you
guys have a kid or a couple of kids, you
want them to get involved and suspect the word try
it out. You can go to my website extreme kaifish

Speaker 14 (24:35):

they want to get out and fish and stuff like that.
But then to be able to take it and teach
them like the ropes of all of it.

Speaker 8 (24:43):
Are going to learn to tie nots and everything.

Speaker 10 (24:45):
Yeah, that's awesome.

Speaker 9 (24:46):
I love It's each.

Speaker 10 (24:48):
Day we're going to have a different captain, so it'll
be like a workshop, okay, so that they can you know,
they each have their.

Speaker 14 (24:54):
Own style and their own little techniques and things that
they do. So they're going to get insight exactly. Hey,
want anybody out there listening, send your kid just so
they can come back and give you the scoop.

Speaker 10 (25:03):
Right, and they get the fisher meets there you go
a little bit of blast. So where are we? Let
me see where are we with time here?

Speaker 14 (25:11):
Because I'm I think we're gonna we're gonna probably value
past Cory, but our next one coming up after the break,
we're gonna talk to Wayne.

Speaker 8 (25:17):
Okay, So all right, and do you know when we have.

Speaker 9 (25:21):
Our break, we can break anytime.

Speaker 8 (25:23):
We can probably just go for it.

Speaker 10 (25:25):
Now you want us to do a break, all right, guys,
So we're gonna go to break. We're sorry about the confusion.
We're gonna fix all this. But yeah, it's gonna be good.

Speaker 9 (25:33):
Hey, it's good.

Speaker 10 (25:33):
Yeah, Corey was probably out late and you know what
he's fishing.

Speaker 8 (25:37):
That's what we're gonna tell fish. He hit the water early,
right exactly. So all right, so we're gonna go to break.

Speaker 10 (25:44):

Boating restricted zones are an important part of ensuring safety
and Florida's water waste. In idle speed no wake zildes,
vessels must operate at a minimum speed that will maintain
headway and steerage with no visible wake in slow speed
minimum wake zildes. Vessels must operate fully off play and
a speed which is making little or no wake. In
either zone, vessels should be completely settled in the water

(28:08):
regardless of speed. For more information on this and other

And for me, I like to mix my sauces.

Speaker 10 (31:17):
Oh yeah, Wayne don't know this song.

Speaker 8 (31:21):
I got there. Okay, how's it going? Wayne?

Hey?

What do you.

Speaker 35 (31:27):
Hey, I'm honored. Two weeks in a row. I made
a request.

Speaker 8 (31:32):
I knew you would like that.

Speaker 10 (31:33):
I knew it, man, That's what I grew up with.
So how's it going.

Speaker 35 (31:39):
It's gone great, man, Beautiful days, gorgeous Saturday, Father's Day, weekend?

Speaker 11 (31:43):
What else?

Speaker 35 (31:43):
What else do you need?

Speaker 13 (31:44):
You know?

Speaker 35 (31:45):
Right, So it looks like we've got great weather. We've
had We've had a lot of win the last few days.
But yeah, I been unusual for for this time of
the year.

Speaker 11 (31:53):
But it's just kept.

Speaker 35 (31:54):
Blowing blowing, blowing, blowing, blowing, you know. But it looks
like today is going to be a lot nicer. So, uh, yeah,
it works. I did this weekend, we put a special
out there. You know me, I'm always encouraging kids and
families to fish, you know, as a great family sharing activity.
And it isn't even about to catch in so much
it has been in time.

Speaker 14 (32:14):
I love that you say that, Wayne, because it's such
a true thing. When you go out and you're with
each other as a family, it's a bonding experience that's awesome.

Speaker 10 (32:23):
Definitely.

Speaker 12 (32:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 35 (32:24):
Well, you guys, look at if you look at our
second website, it's called Kids let's go fishing. I've been
doing it for almost twenty years. You'll see videos a
kids catching their very first fish, letting them go, having
the parents who watch them do something by themselves without
being holding their hands. You know, you let a ten
year old kids screw up the rod, untangle it, bait
the hook, catch the fish, let them go. It's a

(32:47):
lost activity that parents need to be encouraging getting their
kids outside. Let me tell you something. As a fisherman,
and the studies will show if you don't start as
a fisherman by the time you're eight or ten years old,
you're never gonna and you're not going to encourage your
kids to do it, and you're not going to hang
out with kids to do it unless you find a
best friend and he's going to drag your butt around.
You know, I was lucky when I was a kid.

(33:08):
We rode bikes everywhere going fishing. But anyway, we do
encourage that. Look, the days of filling giant fish boxes
are long gone. Fishing is no longer that fishing is
an absolute necessity activity for kids to learn the outdoors
a little bit and having a hands on experience. So
that's kind of where we come from on a reward boats.
We've metamorphosed from filling fish boxes to putting smiles on

(33:31):
faces and trying to get you know, enjoy. You know
that the days of the masks, thank God, are gone
for a while. We hope forever. And you know, we
got great resources in South Florida. So it's one of
the biggest things that I can put into this conversation
is that we as a fisherman, I think we have
an obligation. If you don't feel the obligation, there's something

(33:53):
wrong because what's going to happen next? Who's going to
be the next generation of of our resources?

Speaker 9 (34:01):
Wayne, When you take kids out excuse me.

Speaker 14 (34:04):
Fishing like where like when they're out there and they're
asking the questions and things like that, like, oh my god, yeah,
that's got to be the most fun because they're obviously
full of them. What's the biggest question that you get
probably like what's the largest fish have ever caught?

Speaker 9 (34:17):
Are they more into other things?

Speaker 12 (34:19):
You know what?

Speaker 35 (34:19):
That's a that's a great point. You're right, they do
ask me that, and I'll say, you know, if I
tell them that, you know, a five hundred pounds swordfish
or something like that they ooze and ohs and yeah
yeah so and you know, and amongst fishermen are kids.
You're always going to find a few young guys that
they do have the ability to go fishing, and a

(34:40):
way I turn them into mates. I said, oh, you're
the expert, you're going would you mind helping your friends?
And they yeah, they love it. You know, they like
who doesn't like leadership?

Speaker 10 (34:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (34:48):
That leadership absolutely sure and share.

Speaker 35 (34:51):
So uh, you know, like I said, I'm doing a
long time without much help. I don't mean to say
it this way, but finally the last a year and
a half or so, a lot of city and Miami commissioners,
a lot of Miami Dade County commissioners are supporting what
we're doing. We're getting their kids out. We just took
out yesterday. Yesterday morning. We got forty kids from one

(35:14):
of the local local areas. And I don't care where
they come from, inner city, outer city, middle city. I
don't care because there's not a kid, there's not a
chinge hoole year old kid in the world that doesn't
go on that boat with a big smile on their face.
So anyway, I'm encouraging all the listeners, get somebody involved,
get your kids involved. For us right now, I think
the most productive fishing. Let's get to a little bit

(35:36):
of fishing report here the phite fishing.

Speaker 11 (35:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 35 (35:39):
Man, it's the summertime and we're not big on the
full moon fishing because it's I think it's still pretty full.
But our nite fishing is going to be. It's cranking already.
Mangrove snappers are starting to go really good. And you know,
sometimes people will say, hey, you guys are hitting fishing
during a spawn. But certain kinds of fish, you know,
that can negatively impact, like gags. When guys started anchoring

(36:01):
on spawning aggregations, they would hurt them. They would catch
thousands out of them. But mangro snackpers a different man.
They're like the smartest fish in the ocean. They bite
till they said down, idore it. Yeah, exactly what I'm saying.

Speaker 10 (36:14):
Oh, Wayne, So there was a time I was I remember,
I was kayak fishing in a in a canal and
I saw like a like a little school of them.

Speaker 8 (36:21):
They were huge around a dock light.

Speaker 10 (36:24):
And dude, I threw everything at these. I went down.
I kept going down on my leader size. So I
went from like thirty to like twenty to ten.

Speaker 8 (36:35):
I said, I give up. Fine, you know what, we're
laughing at you as you paddled away.

Speaker 10 (36:39):
I'm like, this is insane, man, Just bite. But yeah,
I had those experiences with them.

Speaker 35 (36:45):
We were teenagers going down to Indian Key Bridge way
back in the in the late sixties, early seventies. I'm
an old guy, but I can remember on some of
those docks seeing five six seven pound mangrove snabbers eating everything,
everything but what you put a hook in. So I
don't I don't remember if it was bouncer or one
of the there was like four or five of us.
We were incessant. We'd got we would we would get

(37:07):
off the party boat working at night, get down to
Indian Key Bridge at four in the morning, and we'd
fish for like thirty six hours and not stop.

Speaker 16 (37:14):
So the nuts we were.

Speaker 35 (37:16):
But the snappers you would you would go down to
like because we used to fish light tackle. You go
down to like four or six pound tests with a
gold hook hook one, and of course he instantly break
you off and that was it. So it was like
But anyway, the point is they're incredibly smart so you're
never gonna hurt them that bad right. Limits limits now
are more in line with what we can catch. Last

(37:37):
year we had a lot of nights with the five
fish limit, and really, can you go out fishing for
four or five hours you can catch five nice snappers
to bring them? What do you want?

Speaker 36 (37:45):
You know?

Speaker 35 (37:45):
What are you looking for?

Speaker 13 (37:46):
Right?

Speaker 8 (37:46):
You know exactly, especially when you're with kids, Yes, you know.

Speaker 35 (37:50):
And right now for Father's Day, we got listen, we
got another thing cool going on at night.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
You got we're.

Speaker 35 (37:56):
Charging sixty dollars for a resident his talk were thirteen
or under. Kid can go with him for free. And
now for night fishing only, we got free parking and
free parking that we worked out something with Bayside Marketplace.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
Kudos to them.

Speaker 35 (38:11):
They understand our value in the community. You know, party
boat fishes have have a great value to the community.
Definitely getting people out there outside at a reasonable cost.
So that's my message.

Speaker 8 (38:25):
And if people want to get a hold of you,
how can they.

Speaker 10 (38:27):
Get a hold of you?

Speaker 35 (38:28):
Reward Fishing Fleet on Facebook And we're at Bayside Marketplace
and I'm riding the boat today. We've got a whole
bunch coming out this srmer. So we're gonna have fun.

Speaker 9 (38:36):
Some have a great one.

Speaker 10 (38:38):
Awesome, thanks brother, it was nice talking to you. Talk
to you next week. I'm all right. We got Jim
our master diver, are killing machine. Eric loves Jim.

Speaker 16 (38:57):
Oh.

Speaker 10 (38:57):
I love the way he's fear fishing. He always always grass.
He's like, I know this guy, Jim. He is the
best spear fisherman ever. I love the way he hunts.
He is the man, Jim. How's it going, brother?

Speaker 16 (39:10):
You know it's going well. Who's blowing bubbles today? Without
Eric on the set there? I mean, come on, will you?

Speaker 14 (39:19):
Eric said home blowing bubbles in a different way.

Speaker 8 (39:25):
I could see him blowing.

Speaker 16 (39:28):
We can talk about him now. So hey, let's get
to the good stuff. Let's do it weekend. The top
side stuff was awesome. I mean it couldn't be flatter,
right Saturday Sunday beautiful, beautiful. You get underneath and we
have these upwellings. I don't know if it affects fishing
fishing wise, but it's definitely affected us down there as

(39:49):
far as currents are all screwed up. It was a
screaming north current for us off of Deerfield on Saturday
and the visibility nuts good because all that junk from outs,
you know, like deep comes in and that what gives
us a cold or water, so you gotta get ready
for that.

Speaker 13 (40:09):
Now.

Speaker 16 (40:09):
I don't know, I think things have kind of cleaned
up a bit this week. Top side has been a
little bumpy two to three underneath is I think getting
a little better. And you know, from our standpoint, a
lot of the bigger fish, you know, we've been targeting
the hog fish and the black grouper for sure. Any
grouper really tell you the truth and locally listen. You

(40:34):
know a lot of the guys have been out there,
and a lot of the guys have been eating a
lot of group of dinners, you know, so there's not
too much left out there. But I did have some
buddies spear fishing down into Marquses over the this past
weekend and they really loaded up on some nice mountains,
nice big black groupers. Not as many hogs down there.

(40:54):
You don't see the hog fish until you get down
to the fort. But the Marquesses was pretty good. So
it's been okay. It's been okay, Yeah, no complaints. Just
the current has been screwy and there's been a little
chili down there, chili because you know, I was all
set for summer and this happens this summi year. Yeah

(41:15):
when I say chili, like, listen, it was up to
eighty degrees now it might be eighty degrees today. I
don't know. I'll be out tomorrow and I'll let you know,
all right, I'll let you know now. Well, not half
at all. Oh yeah, off of Fort Lauderdale is only
fifty feet at the top. We like to do the

(41:36):
third reef now because that's where the structure is. So
you got fifty feet at the top, sixty sixty five
to the bottom what we call west facing walls. So
you've got all the you know, the piers, you got
the Deerfield Pier, Pompino, and you've got a load of
dell by the sea, and you go pretty much straight
off of that. You're going to get into these nice

(41:58):
pretty walls, a lot of fish, a lot of fish activity.
It's just a little chilly, and you're not far off,
like half a mile. You that's the beauty of diving
up here.

Speaker 14 (42:10):
Is this like normal for this time of the year
for it to be you always have that.

Speaker 16 (42:15):
Yeah, yeah, you have that last like hurrah, so to speak,
before before it gets really really nice, you know, the
summer pattern comes in. Uh you know, I'll be complaining
in another week that it's eighty five degrees and you
know that type of thing. No, I'm just I'm just saying.

(42:37):
You know, it's just when I went from my five
mil down to my three mil, I was already it
got to eighty degrees. I was like, okay, great, I
can tell everybody, you know, the locals get in the water,
because the locals won't go in the water. It's uh,
you know below eighty degrees of course, exactly.

Speaker 10 (42:54):
You know that goes Jim. Have you have you seen
anything big out there?

Speaker 8 (42:58):
Man, like any kind of police. He's just kind of looming.

Speaker 16 (43:01):
Abat kingfish, kingfish, kingfish. Absolutely, my buddy Andy, uh spirit
of kingfish last week and that's unusual. We just we
just don't see kingfish a lot. Uh. But yeah, he
actually uh speed two of them in the last couple
of weeks. So they've pushed in and I think that's

(43:22):
again the colder water whatever of the pelagics. For sure,
we've this time of year, we do like to get
out there and play with the mahi. Uh, but it's
he gotta have that really typical flat, flat flat, you know,
jump in on the weed line and catch a few
and then spear a few. But we did that maybe

(43:44):
two three weeks ago, and then it kind of got
colder again, so things have changed. But a little bumpy
up top, that's all. But I expect things next weekend.
The forecast is flat again, so I think we're be
in good shape this weekend. It's gonna be a little
bumpy two to three on top, but you know, uh
that being said, we have the it's a lionfish derby

(44:07):
this today out of Fort Lauderdale and Deer Phil Beach.
Uh nicety divers. You've got seft photo diving headquarters, Aqua
Life I think is involved. A bunch of the charters
are involved. Seafish come on buddy up here. So they
all it's for the warfighters, scuba of people. These are

(44:27):
veterans that they they're taught how to dive to kind
of help and it's they are a great group of people.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, And they're really cool people, really
really cool people. And uh and we teach them basically
had to spear lionfish, which again we want to get

(44:48):
rid of the lionfish. So that's a really good deal
going on. Today. You'll see a fair amount of divers
out doing some uh spearing of lionfish, which is hey,
that's a good sidebar, buddy, that's a really really good sidebar.

Speaker 11 (45:01):
So all good, man.

Speaker 16 (45:03):
All good. And you know, you know, this is the
time of year, you know, Joe, we got to you know,

my crew is set for mini season.

Speaker 13 (45:48):
Uh.

Speaker 16 (45:48):
I think somebody has to either die or move. That's
the only way you get onto you know, the cruise.
But we actually combined with the relentless crew. Uh, he's
got a bigger boat. You know, that's what happens. So, yeah,
he got thirty nine Invincible, and so we'll go out
with him and we'll have five or six divers on that.

(46:09):
So it'll be a lot of fun. And again mini
seasons coming up the end of July.

Speaker 11 (46:13):

And it's great because we had star Bright.

Speaker 10 (53:17):
They're one of our main sponsors for the tournament.

Speaker 9 (53:19):
And that was a tournament you had last weekend.

Speaker 8 (53:21):
Yeah, yeah, and the one coming up too.

Speaker 11 (53:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (53:24):
And their stuff is amazing.

Speaker 1 (53:26):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (53:26):
They're gonna have a kayak cleaning station at our next tournament.
That's a cool idea cool. Yeah, that's a really cool
So the guys have the blood and stuff from the

Speaker 8 (53:37):
And this stuff is amazing.

Speaker 10 (53:38):
Yeah. Absolutely, City's going to hook them up with the

first class all the way, guys, and this.

Speaker 14 (53:46):
Could be yours, this could be yours. We're just looking
for somebody. Guess the lucky number one through ten eight six, six, eight,
zero one zero nine four zero.

Speaker 8 (53:55):
Right, so we have Sean here.

Speaker 9 (53:57):
Yet is Sean joining us?

Speaker 11 (54:01):
So I'm here?

Speaker 10 (54:02):
Oh, Sean rolls, Hey, buddy, how's it going.

Speaker 11 (54:07):
Good morning guys. How you doing?

Speaker 16 (54:09):
Oh?

Speaker 10 (54:09):
You know, living the dream following my team.

Speaker 11 (54:11):
Yeah, so I heard a little fuck there of the
kayak tournament last weekend.

Speaker 10 (54:17):
Huh yeah, mister fourth place from winning Yeah, Sean won
five dollars from swivel Pod three sixty my man boomer.
So Sean tell us, I know it was a slow day,
but tell us your experience fishing the tournament. What happened?

Speaker 13 (54:34):
Well?

Speaker 11 (54:34):
First of all, congratulations to John stack House for getting
first place. Man, good friend of mine. That guy been
the hard work man. He deserved it. As far as
my experience, great time man. From the captain's party the
way to the tournament day we had night weather, bait
boot was there. Everything went perfect. It was hot, there's

(54:58):
a good bit of current, so that made it for
a tough day out there. Yeah, but the bite wasn't
generally slow. I mean I got a kingfish early in
the morning and I thought that was my start and
that was it. I thought I ended up catching. I
caught a fail sailfish later in the day. Okay, normally
got great fish to catch, but during the tournament, you know,

(55:20):
they can tie up a lot of time. So yeah,
I think that was one another little bite and that
was it man, And came down to the beach and
I was hot, tired. I guess I'll wait this one
fish and see what happens, and to my surprise, it
got me fourth place.

Speaker 14 (55:38):
Look at that, man, it's all it takes.

Speaker 10 (55:41):
You really never know. I heard from anglers that the
current was weird because I guess in the morning it
was like non existent, and then I don't know what
part of the day, but it like turned on to
the point where our help boat had to rescue a guy,
one of the Jacksonville guys. Yeah, Sean, can you tell

(56:03):
us about that? Is that kind of how it happened.

Speaker 11 (56:05):
Yeah, So the day before we pre fished, it was myself,
Bobby Bazaki, and Justin Richie. I took the boat out.
The current was like three miles an hour to the south.
That kind of when that happens, it doesn't stay for long.
So first thing in the morning, around six o'clock, I

(56:26):
got a report that it was slight south current. By
the time we got out there and launched, it was
already north. So just it switched and just kept building
as the day went on. Oh, it was barely any
current in the morning, and you got around, you know,
eleven noon, it was ripped north. Yeah, it's already north.

(56:46):
And then the current got stronger. It just took you away.

Speaker 10 (56:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (56:50):
And you know, for a guy like out of state
or something like.

Speaker 10 (56:54):
That, not used to the condition, Oh my gosh, Well
they got faked out because they probably went out and
they just a.

Speaker 8 (57:00):
Nice slow draft or whatever.

Speaker 10 (57:03):
And then all of a sudden, it just turns on
and before you know it, you look over and what
we do is, as Sean knows, we kind of make
a square. So I tell people at the kickoff party,
you want to stay in between the lighthouse and the pier,
and you stay within that box.

Speaker 8 (57:17):
Okay, you have a perimeter and use landmarks.

Speaker 10 (57:20):
Once you get out of that box, it's really hard
to get back.

Speaker 8 (57:24):
We had a guy mark, I'm sure Sean remembers this.

Speaker 10 (57:29):
He he missed the cutoff time and he came in
with a big monster kingfish and we couldn't.

Speaker 9 (57:36):
Win because he was he got it.

Speaker 8 (57:41):
There were a couple of guys the queue that had
nice fish.

Speaker 14 (57:43):
And it was because of the current they taken them out,
and that it took them longer to get back in.

Speaker 10 (57:47):
It just could not get back in time. And I
believe the one guy caught it late. So and Sean,
how was your experience with the weigh in and all
that stuff on you there? Can we lose them?

Speaker 9 (58:01):
I think we lost him now, you know what?

Speaker 8 (58:04):
I have a question?

Speaker 14 (58:04):
Asked sure only because you know, I'm sure we got
new listeners tuning in all the time.

Speaker 9 (58:09):
How like you guys are in these amazing kayaks? How
far off the shore do you guys go in these things?

Speaker 10 (58:16):
I mean it ranges? Sean? There, I thought I heard breathing. Sean.

Speaker 11 (58:20):
Yeah, I'm here.

Speaker 9 (58:21):
Oh there.

Speaker 10 (58:22):
I don't know what happened. You kind of disappeared, yeah, Sean, Yeah,
I've been here. Okay, that's weird. So Sean, can you
tell us about your experience with the way in like
and for the listeners that maybe for August want to
come out and check out the whole way and experience.

Speaker 11 (58:38):
But it was great, man, you get to the beat,
you come up there, they got they got food. The
great folks from swil hood three sixty had some cooling
us to put around you to help you cool down
a little bit from your experience.

Speaker 13 (58:52):
Uh.

Speaker 11 (58:52):
You weigh your fish in and you hope for the best,
and if you get lucky, you get brought up on
that stage. And that is your goal for the tour
is get on that stage. Many anglers haveried for years.
It's a whole it's a whole thing.

Speaker 8 (59:07):
It's an event that's awesome.

Speaker 10 (59:09):
We play a game called Guess the Way, so before
we introduce like the winners and stuff like that. Uh,
I go on stage and I whoever screams the loudest
gets to pick a number for that weight of a
fish and if you if you if you don't guess
it right, I'll throw you a prize if you guess
it right.

Speaker 8 (59:29):
So there's a lot of kids.

Speaker 14 (59:30):
It's not just the anglers that are involved. And obviously
I'm on the water, but everybody's encouraged to come cheer
them on and enjoy the festivities.

Speaker 8 (59:37):
Exactly, lots of lots.

Speaker 10 (59:39):
And Sean, real quick, can you give us a report
for Pompao anything going on? Now?

Speaker 11 (59:47):
It's rough, rougher than it seems.

Speaker 10 (59:50):
Okay, that's it.

Speaker 8 (59:52):
That's the report.

Speaker 11 (59:53):
I was out yesterday. I was out yesterday just bait fishing.
It was really rough, few king few tun to call it.
Nothing great, but still some fishing around a lot of
weeds to plan on getting some live bait. Do some jigging.
You're drifting. I wouldn't recommend trawling.

Speaker 10 (01:00:10):
Okay, all right, well we appreciate everything, Sean, thanks for
the report.

Speaker 8 (01:00:15):
Good job.

Speaker 10 (01:00:18):
Yeah, Sean, brahom a nice custom trophy from Cabin Shack Artworks.

Speaker 8 (01:00:23):

the five hundred dollars from Swivel Palm ninety six zero.

Speaker 44 (01:00:31):
Rats.

Speaker 8 (01:00:31):
Congrats, that's awesome. And we're still looking for a winner.

Speaker 10 (01:00:35):
Yeah, so come on give us banks.

Speaker 12 (01:00:37):
Sean.

Speaker 10 (01:00:38):
All right, so is Benny. Right after.

Speaker 14 (01:00:41):
We're gonna go take a break. Okay, I'm still looking
for my winner. Eight sixty six eight zero one zero
nine four.

Speaker 8 (01:06:40):
All right, Captain Benny.

Speaker 11 (01:06:43):
Man, good morning, guys. How's it going? And girls?

Speaker 9 (01:06:47):
We're doing great? I hear do you hear the reeling?

Speaker 16 (01:06:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (01:06:50):
What do you What are you doing?

Speaker 9 (01:06:51):
What are you catching?

Speaker 44 (01:06:52):
We're out here fishing. The twenty twenty five Saltwater Slam
just had lines in at seven o'clock but in our
first spread out.

Speaker 8 (01:06:58):
Now, all right, man, we're not interrupting you or anything.
You know, you know you have time. Be Benny's good,
he knows, he knows professional.

Speaker 10 (01:07:07):
Oh yeah, So what's the report of the man.

Speaker 44 (01:07:11):
Yeah, I mean it's been a you know, a little
bit slower since the full moon, but coming off the
full moon, every day has been getting better. Okay, you know,
we're hoping to throw a couple of wahoo. There's been
a few caught locally. The tuna bite's been pretty solid.
King fish have been you know, scattered, and mahi have
been around.

Speaker 16 (01:07:29):
And bit or miss as well.

Speaker 8 (01:07:31):
So nice, pretty effective right now, pretty decent body.

Speaker 10 (01:07:36):
Very cool and uh, how's I I heard with the
blackfin tuna, it's like really falling off. They're still there,
but they're kind of scattered. We noticed that in our
tournament last weekend, h what have you?

Speaker 44 (01:07:49):
Tournament fell at the time where you know, the wind
dropped out the sky, the current died, and the bite
died the day before, So that was just unfortunate for
the tournament. I still saw a lot of great fish
brought in, but yeah, as far as the overall bit,
it is definitely a little uh you know, falling off.
And not to say falling off, but like I said
last week, the warmer starts getting out here, the harder

(01:08:09):
it gets to find and catch the fish, they'll still
be there. Just makes it a little harder to find
him and catch them, especially when I want to go
I want to go sardine on that.

Speaker 10 (01:08:20):
He's Benny's like two people. So like when Benny's like
on his boat and he's like the captain in charge,
he's like starting to Benny. But when he's but when
he's on like he's talking to me or you, or
when he's on the radio's sweet Benny.

Speaker 8 (01:08:35):
So you got the two day the same time.

Speaker 10 (01:08:41):
How about how about Mahi Benny? Anything there on the mahi.

Speaker 44 (01:08:44):
Yeah, Mahi's solid right now, solid solid, definitely, definitely find
some birds, find some floaters, find the little weeds.

Speaker 10 (01:08:51):
And you'll get on the mahi's for sure, all right.

Speaker 8 (01:08:53):
And how about the kings Man, any big ones?

Speaker 44 (01:08:57):
Yeah, I mean by us, we got our typical you know,
twelve calendars, nothing crazy, Right, they're around and they're pretty solid,
and they're gonna get way better this week than they
have in the past couple of weeks coming off this
moon for sure.

Speaker 10 (01:09:09):
Okay, very cool man.

Speaker 14 (01:09:10):
So you're in a tournament right now, we're like, tell
us a little bit about the tournament that you're a
part of today.

Speaker 44 (01:09:16):
Yeah, So it's a tournament where you're targeting what we
call meat fish. The target species are mahi tuna, wahoo, kingfish,
and sailfish. Go down one hundred with that, like one ten.
I mean, I'm sorry, not sailfish, Mahi tuna, wahoo, kingfish,
and kobea.

Speaker 1 (01:09:33):
One of the main.

Speaker 44 (01:09:34):
Prize pools that we entered, because you can enter a
few different ones, it's called the KDW. So we're looking
for kingfish, dolphin and wahoo today ourselves.

Speaker 8 (01:09:43):
So in this case, what time do you guys have
to be off the water?

Speaker 33 (01:09:47):
Uh?

Speaker 44 (01:09:47):
We have to be back at Wiyhans by like four o'clock.

Speaker 11 (01:09:50):
We were allowed to start.

Speaker 10 (01:09:51):
Fishing at seven.

Speaker 8 (01:09:52):
And everybody invited to the way Ins today.

Speaker 16 (01:09:55):
Oh yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 44 (01:09:56):
The Wayans are at the Cove and Deerfield Beach. If
you guys want to come stop by check us out.
You could look at Bluewatermovements dot com and find all
the details and look for some live scoring as well.

Speaker 10 (01:10:06):
So many years ago, a long long time.

Speaker 8 (01:10:09):
Ago, okay, in all Land lamp Fire.

Speaker 10 (01:10:11):
Yes, I fished with Team Young Guns okay, and we
won the KDW nice in the tournament.

Speaker 8 (01:10:18):
Yeah, very cool, It was very cool.

Speaker 10 (01:10:19):
It was an epic day.

Speaker 8 (01:10:20):
We got this monster who right.

Speaker 14 (01:10:22):
At the end, So I have to ask the question, then,
if you win today, what are we looking at prize wise?

Speaker 10 (01:10:27):
Big money? Benny?

Speaker 8 (01:10:28):
Where are we at money wise?

Speaker 44 (01:10:29):
I mean there's a lot of different there's a lot
of different prize pools. I'd say in this tournament there's
at or around over one hundred thousand and prize prizes.

Speaker 16 (01:10:38):
That could potentially get paid out.

Speaker 44 (01:10:41):
They got a bunch of different categories from aggregate weight
to big fish weight to again KDW. They have small
boat divisions, mid range divisions, so there's a lot of
money to be given out to a lot of different people.
And someone will go home with some money. You know,
the average top boat in this thing will probably call
them up where it's a twenty to forty right now,
depending on how.

Speaker 11 (01:11:01):
Good they do.

Speaker 8 (01:11:01):
It's awesome, Benny.

Speaker 14 (01:11:02):
I'm gonna tell you something, if you win this one today,
I'm gonna put some money out for you.

Speaker 9 (01:11:06):
It's gonna be come from.

Speaker 14 (01:11:07):
Eric Brandon though, because you literally have been barking orders,
giving us a fishing report and catching fish all at
the same time.

Speaker 8 (01:11:15):
So Eric Brandon's gonna add to.

Speaker 10 (01:11:16):
That purse for sure.

Speaker 8 (01:11:18):
Eric will throw an yes, why not?

Speaker 44 (01:11:21):
Yes, I'll at least get a Starbard bucket out of
the deal.

Speaker 8 (01:11:24):
Right, all right, my man, Well listen, good luck with
the tournament. I know you're super busy right now, and
catch him up for you, right, thank baby, thank you.
See I'll later appreciate it, all right, see you brother.
All right, we're gonna go to break awesome, all right,

Let's hear this report, Vinnie, how's it going?

Speaker 13 (01:16:32):
Brother?

Speaker 11 (01:16:34):
Hey, good morning guys and girls.

Speaker 8 (01:16:36):
Morning, Good morning man. So what do we got going
on out there?

Speaker 49 (01:16:42):
So this week with the full moon, I'm sure you heard,
it's been a little tough on the reef, especially in
Port Everglade. We've had a ton of seaweed, brown water.
There's been some king fishicatch afternoon black Mentuna's I would
say the best thing right now is the dolphin. But
I went out yesterday about fifteen miles and we caught

(01:17:04):
thirty keepers on birds. So pretty good dolphin fishing right now.

Speaker 13 (01:17:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:17:10):
Man, Okay, I have a question, and this might just
be like the most facious question ever. Does this full moon?

Speaker 14 (01:17:16):
I know it obviously affects fishing, it affects so many
different things, but is it always a negative like this?

Speaker 9 (01:17:22):
Because everybody has been talking about it in a negative way.

Speaker 8 (01:17:25):
Good morning. I mean it's different different times. A year changes, Yeah,
it changes.

Speaker 9 (01:17:30):
A lot, but this particular one we're not happy with it.

Speaker 10 (01:17:33):
Yeah, I mean, Vinnie, you want to dive a little
bit into that, like what you're seeing.

Speaker 49 (01:17:39):
Yeah, Usually that summertime full moon is tough.

Speaker 11 (01:17:42):
I mean notoriously.

Speaker 49 (01:17:44):
You hear the full moon, you think of wahoo, for sure,
But that's more in the winter time is when that
full moon seems to be better. The summertime full moon's
better for like snapper fishing and stuff like the mangrove
spawn usually on the full moon in June and July.
But a time fishing, especially now, it's tough. It's usually
a good bite early, really early, and then it's in

(01:18:05):
as that moon drops out the sky that bites over
until later in the afternoon.

Speaker 8 (01:18:10):
Right right, And how's any kingfish out there or wahoo?

Speaker 49 (01:18:15):
We had some kings earlier in the week. I know
they got a few yesterday, but it's kind of been spotty,
Like you know, he sent teams to get better on
the back side of the moon. Always there was a
couple of wahoo. I didn't get lucky enough to get
one this week, but there was a few caught. We
had an edge like in three hundred early in the week,

(01:18:36):
and there was a couple right on that. Not any
big big ones, but you know, ten to twenty pounds.
Ain't nothing wrong with that.

Speaker 8 (01:18:42):
Yeah, no, that's fine man. Hey any wah, who's good
for me? Any big kings?

Speaker 49 (01:18:49):
I know there was a couple caught in the kite
on my baits, but like I said, the seaweed's making
it really difficult. So you know, if you got the
patience to sit there with the mess around with the weed,
and you got plenty of bait, and you'll probably be
able to weed out a few of them.

Speaker 10 (01:19:06):
Okay, all right, And how's bait man? Speaking of that?

Speaker 8 (01:19:08):
Because I hear it's still pretty good.

Speaker 49 (01:19:13):
There's been a lot of pilchards on the beach, a
couple goggleized early. I know, full moon for the goggleize
is tough, but a lot of pilters on the beach,
a couple harring on the days that it's super rough.

Speaker 11 (01:19:24):
So there's been some bait around.

Speaker 10 (01:19:26):
Okay, cool man.

Speaker 8 (01:19:27):
And how about the bottom fishing, how's that going?

Speaker 49 (01:19:31):
As long as the tide isn't super strong because a
lot of times with that moon you get that heavy current.
All right, when those current's light, nice vermillions poor geese
muttons are starting to bite. We should see a good
mutton bite here right after this moon.

Speaker 11 (01:19:47):
So hopefully for that.

Speaker 10 (01:19:49):
Okay, sweet man, any kobea.

Speaker 49 (01:19:53):
I probably get one or two a year out here.
It's not a fish that we really see much of.

Speaker 10 (01:19:58):
Yeah, yeah, I know personally, I've always got lucky and
caught like a nice kobia, like when I'm just like
bottom fishing, or even like I caught one one year
when I was going for yellowtail, like right around this
time of year, like okay, in the in the shallower up,
but that was more towards Miami.

Speaker 8 (01:20:18):
But yeah, so it's if you can get one this
time of year.

Speaker 10 (01:20:21):
I think there's some that are like kind of straggling
around or if you see a turtle or anything like that,
vinnie any size circling back to the mahi any like
size to them, any big ones.

Speaker 49 (01:20:34):
I did catch one yesterday that was about twenty twenty
two pounds. I had a couple of schooly fish, like
heavy lifters, we call them, like ten to fifteen so
there were some good ones. I didn't catch many that
I had to throw back. I think out of the
thirty week kept, we only threw back about four or five.

Speaker 10 (01:20:51):
Nice man said twenty two pounds smaller ones.

Speaker 49 (01:20:54):
Yeah, nice bawl yesterday, Nice man.

Speaker 10 (01:20:57):
That's a nice fish. Oh yeah, yeah, it's you know,
it's funny. Back in the day, you'd say twenty two
pound bull mahi, and you know, all the old timers
would be like, oh yeah, man, we catch, we load
all the time. We load the box wheel. Now now
we say that and we're like, oh way, wow, oh man.
And what about black fin tuna, Vinnie? Because I know,

(01:21:19):
like with our tournament, it was it was tough.

Speaker 19 (01:21:22):
Man.

Speaker 10 (01:21:22):
We got a couple big ones, but it wasn't like
solid at all. Have you seen anything with that? And
has it gotten a little better a little worse?

Speaker 49 (01:21:33):
Just in the late afternoons. You know, if you're out
there right when that sun's going down, that's when they've
been biting. They got those big guys.

Speaker 11 (01:21:41):
So always at low light.

Speaker 49 (01:21:42):
You know, or right when the sun's coming up or
when it's going down, it's going to be the best
window to get the soonest.

Speaker 10 (01:21:48):
Right, right, Have you caught any lately or.

Speaker 49 (01:21:52):
Just a few on the morning trip. No big ones
to brag about.

Speaker 10 (01:21:56):
Uh.

Speaker 49 (01:21:56):
I call them snackfins because they're less than five pounds.

Speaker 10 (01:22:00):
Oh man, Yeah, well listen, Vinnie. I really appreciate it. Man,
thank you for your report. One last question here you
talked about the bottom fishing.

Speaker 5 (01:22:09):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (01:22:10):
Do you do yellowtail at all?

Speaker 11 (01:22:13):
Yes?

Speaker 49 (01:22:15):
Do yellowtail in the daytime here and the night time.
I like the daytime better because you're not out there
all night and your whole day is not completely shot
the next day. Stayed out in morning. But if you
go out there with if you go out there with
live bait and you fish in the yellowtail and you
put out maybe a pilch it or two, you might
get a nice big king as you're coming. You know,

(01:22:37):
you're building a spot, So anything gonna show up when
you're out there for an hour or two and you
got some live baits and you're yellowtail fishing as well.

Speaker 10 (01:22:45):
All right, Vinnie, Well, thank you.

Speaker 14 (01:22:49):
If it's obviously Father's Day weekend, a lot of dads
want to hit the water. Give us one good tip,
one good tip for for Father's Day for each of
the dad's out there for me, I would.

Speaker 49 (01:23:00):
Say run off shore and go for the mahis. It's
been the most consistent. Look for the birds. That's what
the fish are on yesterday. If you find the birds,
they usually don't lie.

Speaker 8 (01:23:10):
Know what that means.

Speaker 9 (01:23:10):
Dad's head out to there and catch you.

Speaker 8 (01:23:13):
Some dinnery baby. See, I'm the lazy dad.

Speaker 10 (01:23:17):
Now where I'll just yellowtail.

Speaker 8 (01:23:18):
I'll go out there, anchor up, throw out a chump back.
You know, I have my kids sit.

Speaker 10 (01:23:23):
There eating chips, and I'm just sitting there in my chair,
yellow tail.

Speaker 8 (01:23:27):
It's still a good day on the water, right all right, Bennie.
Thanks brother. If someone wants to get a hold of you,
how can they reach you?

Speaker 49 (01:23:34):
Yeah, you can go on our website and book online
at Fort Lauderdale Sport Fishing dot com, or you can
give us a call direct.

Speaker 11 (01:23:40):
At nine five.

Speaker 10 (01:23:44):
Awesome. Thanks Vinnie.

Speaker 49 (01:23:46):
All right, take care of you guys.

Speaker 10 (01:23:48):
All right, see you all right.

Speaker 6 (01:23:49):
Here's Johnny, my man, Johnny.

Speaker 8 (01:23:53):
How's it going, brother, it's going good.

Speaker 16 (01:23:55):
How are you guys doing today?

Speaker 10 (01:23:57):
Doing good?

Speaker 8 (01:23:58):
Man, doing good?

Speaker 10 (01:23:59):
I got brand with me. We're having a fun show, so,
yes we are.

Speaker 9 (01:24:02):
Eric's not feeling well. You can't speak trust me. It's
amazing about having him speak.

Speaker 10 (01:24:08):
Yeah, and I can yelled at show.

Speaker 8 (01:24:11):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 9 (01:24:12):
He's still texting us?

Speaker 8 (01:24:13):
Oh yeah, you're right exactly, Johnny.

Speaker 9 (01:24:15):
He has not stopped texting us all morning long.

Speaker 33 (01:24:18):
Yeah, he's very passionate about the morning show.

Speaker 50 (01:24:23):
And uh, you know, hey, get it.

Speaker 8 (01:24:25):
A little passion is a good thing because a lot
of people don't have it anymore.

Speaker 10 (01:24:29):
Yeah, that's true, that's true. That's right, all right, Johnny.
So what do we got going on out there?

Speaker 33 (01:24:35):
The barge of sharping. I'm waiting to pick up my
charger this morning. And the fishing has been pretty good.

Speaker 34 (01:24:42):
You know.

Speaker 33 (01:24:42):
We're averaging about twenty to twenty five peacocks on our
morning trips four hour morning trips on Lake Ida. A
couple of clown knife fish usually available in the mix
there too. Had a bunch of snakeheads this week as well.
A lot of a lot of people into that wanted
to catch some snakeheads, so we did a lot of
that also on the lake Eye to Chain and the

(01:25:05):
Everglades of the water level is high. The bass fishing
out there is really good, though, don't don't go for
the exotics, go for the bass fishing.

Speaker 16 (01:25:14):
It's it's really phenomenal right now. A lot of big
bass out.

Speaker 33 (01:25:18):
In the Everglades and that season for for me anyway,
is pretty much over for the year. You know, the
the peacocks they go out onto the flats in the
Everglades and you know and kind of hide from the
rest of you know, the world. So if you got
you know, a little small jomboat or a very small skiff,

(01:25:38):
you can get out onto the flats where all the
other fish will be, you know, in the next month
or two, which is a little bit more rain, but
otherwise the fishing has been well rounded here and looking
for another good trip today with I just got a
single single person.

Speaker 11 (01:25:56):
Today, so it should be nice and easy.

Speaker 33 (01:25:58):
We should get a bunch of fish and wrap it
up around noon and go.

Speaker 16 (01:26:03):
Home and go in the pool.

Speaker 10 (01:26:05):
Yeah, so, Johnny, I have been seeing and actually Mia
got her biggest one yet. A lot of like fat,
big snakeheads, I mean, more than I've seen usually in
the past. I don't know if it's they're just really like,
I don't know, honing in on catching them, the different styles,
the different lures.

Speaker 8 (01:26:26):
What's your theory on that?

Speaker 11 (01:26:28):
Man?

Speaker 33 (01:26:29):
So there was another gigantic snakehead caught. I want to
say it was very close to the new world record
seventeen pounder that was caught in basically a pet pond.
In It was off Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.

Speaker 12 (01:26:47):
Gotcha.

Speaker 33 (01:26:48):
The address has been blasted across social media. And basically,
what these kids, and I'm calling them kids because they
are kids, these kids are doing is they're grown peak
or sorry, snakeheads on these little lakes and ponds with
hot dogs and chicken wings and whatever else that a

(01:27:09):
snakehead will eat, which is pretty much anything anything that's edible.
And then they're going back and they're catching them. When
they see that they've gotten to be, you know, overweight
and gargantuous in size because they're literally feeding them absolute
junk food that would make a human overweight.

Speaker 9 (01:27:31):
Wait a second, what is that way you called it
a pet pond?

Speaker 10 (01:27:36):
They are pets.

Speaker 8 (01:27:37):
If you feed a fish on a regular basis that
they are your pets.

Speaker 33 (01:27:45):
I don't care if they're saying, oh, well, they're in
the lake and somebody just randomly showed up and caught it.
Those are pet fish. Go to the Griffin Canal in
Fort Lauderdale. Go to Markham Park, go to lake, go
catch a snake head there.

Speaker 16 (01:28:01):
That those are not pets.

Speaker 33 (01:28:03):
You will never find a wild snakehead that is naturally foraging.

Speaker 16 (01:28:08):
Get as big as those guys have, and just.

Speaker 8 (01:28:11):
Like like randomly, like people fish that place all the time.

Speaker 33 (01:28:14):
And you're telling me, all of a sudden, now they
pull two giant fish out of there, like back to
back there.

Speaker 27 (01:28:22):
Get it.

Speaker 14 (01:28:23):
I understand too, And so in your mind, those should
not be allowed to be recorded in any kind of record.

Speaker 8 (01:28:31):
Correct Exactly.

Speaker 33 (01:28:32):
It's like if I threw a peacock bass in a
fish tank and.

Speaker 8 (01:28:39):
Every day and I get like, I called this peacock.

Speaker 33 (01:28:42):
Bass, it's ten pounds, it doesn't count.

Speaker 8 (01:28:46):
You you've can It's not like you go out in
the wild and you catch the fish.

Speaker 11 (01:28:51):
It's it's a pet.

Speaker 10 (01:28:53):
So I didn't know, Johnny, that someone just beat the
recent world record. So you're saying those kids went out
the same group and beat the world record they just had.

Speaker 33 (01:29:08):
Apparently the kid didn't have a scale, but it was
along the lines of like almost eighteen pounds or maybe
it was eighteen pounds, oh my gosh.

Speaker 9 (01:29:20):
And but he was hot dogs.

Speaker 33 (01:29:23):
Yeah, I mean, if I ate hot dogs every day,
I'd probably gain eighteen pounds real quick too.

Speaker 16 (01:29:29):
And I'm not a big guys.

Speaker 8 (01:29:30):
You guys know that's great.

Speaker 10 (01:29:33):
That is nuts, man.

Speaker 8 (01:29:35):
Well, I learned a new term today.

Speaker 10 (01:29:38):
I didn't pond. I did not know that they were
doing that.

Speaker 8 (01:29:41):
Well, I didn't know that.

Speaker 10 (01:29:42):
I had theories on that, but I didn't know they
beat the world record. They just got right.

Speaker 8 (01:29:48):
This was like we just talked about that on like
like three shows ago.

Speaker 9 (01:29:51):
Well, they're going to keep feeding him. He's going to
keep eating the hot dogs.

Speaker 10 (01:29:54):
That is insane, and he's just going to keep getting bigger. Johnny,
how like, what's the biggest what's the wait? You think
that fish can get like being obese, like over twenty
I mean.

Speaker 33 (01:30:06):
If it's naturally foraging and not being caught and there's
no pressure on that fish and it's just kind of
like in a happy state where nobody can really access
the fish for it and there's a lot of forage
there and frogs and lizards and little iguanas and you know,
big pan fish that he can eat. I would say
at a maximum at a very old age of life,

(01:30:30):
probably twenty pounds max, gotcha, But when you eat the
American diet, which is filled with transfats and all.

Speaker 16 (01:30:38):
The other garbage that we eat.

Speaker 33 (01:30:39):
As humans, it's gonna get overweight really quick, you know,
and that.

Speaker 9 (01:30:43):
He's probably not gonna live that long. I'll live that
long either.

Speaker 16 (01:30:47):
Well.

Speaker 10 (01:30:47):
What's weird is if you look at a picture at
I saw the world record one that they recently caught,
not the newest one, but I saw the one before,
and it did not look normal.

Speaker 8 (01:30:57):
I mean it was obese, like.

Speaker 10 (01:30:59):
You could tell.

Speaker 8 (01:31:00):
You could tell it was like like fat.

Speaker 10 (01:31:03):
Yeah, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, wow, exactly. That
is nuts, Johnny.

Speaker 9 (01:31:11):
I did not know that you learned something today.

Speaker 21 (01:31:13):
You know.

Speaker 33 (01:31:14):
I'm sure that if you ask other people they'll have
other opinions about that too, you know. But as far
as I'm concerned, if you're feeding a fish and then
you catch that fish and kill it to try to
claim a world record, I mean, it doesn't it shouldn't count.

Speaker 1 (01:31:30):
That should not count.

Speaker 33 (01:31:32):
Yeah, if you got you guys know, Coreynowski, that guy
can catch some freaking snakeheads and not feed him. I
mean I've watched a ton of his you know, little
Instagram videos, and that guy is as legit as it comes.

Speaker 10 (01:31:47):
Yeah, he kills it.

Speaker 25 (01:31:48):
Man.

Speaker 10 (01:31:49):
Yeah, we have him on the in the show at
around seven or whatever earlier than that.

Speaker 13 (01:31:54):
Okay, So that's right, that's right.

Speaker 10 (01:31:57):
So and he mentioned what's funny is Johnny he mentioned
kind of a similar thing that you're saying with the
first world record that beat his because he was an
eight times he won it, like eight times, gotcha? Okay?

Speaker 8 (01:32:11):
And then this this weird one was this is interesting?

Speaker 33 (01:32:14):
Yeah, well, Johnny out that was caught out of the
same lake as this new eighteen pound one.

Speaker 6 (01:32:20):
But the kid didn't have a scale, so we didn't
wey it.

Speaker 33 (01:32:23):
But the seventeen pound one, they all came out of
the same.

Speaker 16 (01:32:26):
Place, and that's why.

Speaker 33 (01:32:28):
I'm saying they should not count as state records or
world Wow.

Speaker 9 (01:32:32):
Well that that is we learned a lot from you today, Johnny.

Speaker 8 (01:32:35):
Yeah, man, that you serve the tea my friend.

Speaker 10 (01:32:38):
Yeah all right, well Johnny, listen, brother, if people want
to get a hold of you, how can they get

report out of ada Ida?

Speaker 36 (01:32:59):
Like?

Speaker 10 (01:32:59):
Is that one doing better than the Everglades or is
it just way overfished still like you're.

Speaker 33 (01:33:03):
Saying, no, no Ida is actually fishing good right now?
The Everglades the water is too high. So if you're
gonna go fish today or tomorrow for Father's Day, definitely
go to Lake Eye to catch some bait and just
six floors cool.

Speaker 8 (01:33:17):

Speaker 16 (01:33:20):

It's all courtesy of my AI Google search. The weather
forecast for fishing in the area includes a chance of
showers and thunderstorms tonight with south wind ten to fifteen
knots and sees around two feet.

Speaker 8 (01:38:04):
Ooh, okay, that's your weather report. Because I used AI.
I was about to say thanks jo O.

She's like really good, but you just went right in there.

Speaker 10 (01:38:19):
I appreciate it. I appreciate it, all right. So next up,
we got Captain Skip. I love this song coming in
right from the Keys. Oh yeah, living on a sludge game?

Speaker 8 (01:38:31):
Oh all right, how's it going? Captain Skip?

Speaker 50 (01:38:35):
And I tell you I love that music. Kimmy buff
And I'll tell you what. Jimmy and I spent some
time together in Cuba, and boy, I tell you, every
time you hear that, it brings back some great memories. Anyway,
good morning, and it is the week, but yeah, it
was a great time. I read a book on that alone. Anyway,
we got the Miami Hurricanes, all the athletes coming in
and their families are all coming in this week. We

(01:38:56):
have the this next week and a big fisher tournament,
I mean a big one too. Would they have got
thirty twenty five, thirty five the past athletes, some present
ones too. They're going to be on the boats. You
request them and they are coming down and the captain doctor,
Captain Kellogg is big time involved in that one.

Speaker 11 (01:39:13):
Boy. The did a beautiful job.

Speaker 50 (01:39:15):
They're coming in Thursday night, Stak night down here at
the OV and then on Friday, and Friday is today
that all the kids, all the families that are staying
in town have invited to the theater to see for
free in the morning. That's a beautiful show and that's
not cheap. That's a twenty five to thirty five dollars
admission and it's all free for all the families from
the from the um group. And then fishing on Saturday

(01:39:36):
in the woods back on Saturday night at I call
it holiday allet's call three waters now and right there
where my boat is the Poppa Wilhoo. It's going to
be right there in the big stage there, so we'll
see there and I hope we have a get a
trophy or two in the whole thing. But they fishing
off shows much like the boys are singing up there.
So much weed out there. Really, the deck kids really hated.

(01:39:58):
They kind of get irritated at the cap and like
we have anything to do with steering around the weed.
There's no way. It is out there everywhere from Keyolaga
to Key West and uh and to Bokery Time and
all the way up the line. It just sounds like
it's the saying. They said, it's gonna be an unusual
year and too much weed in the area and there's
not much you can do about it, and they should
get front of loaders. But that's but what's going on

(01:40:20):
down here pretty much what the boy's talking about up north?

Speaker 14 (01:40:22):
Okay, step, is there gonna be any break in the weed,
because like everybody's complaining about it, do we see any
end in sight? Do we see some positive you know,
conditions moving in that's going to take it out?

Speaker 50 (01:40:34):
No, they called for it to get worse. I'll tell
you that they called for it. Where it's now down
the Keys. You get this southeast breeze up there, the
drop party. You know, your land changes, you know how
you go northeast southwest. A little different up there, but
down here that we the stream runs northeast southwest and
that southeast breeze ports that stuff right up on the
Florida Keys again from Key West to Key Laga.

Speaker 11 (01:40:54):
That's all I know.

Speaker 50 (01:40:54):
I don't follow too much except for the list of
you guys up there. You're having the same problems that
we are.

Speaker 16 (01:40:59):
And I don't know.

Speaker 50 (01:41:00):
I would say, they say no, they say it's going
to be one of the worst years ever. So I
don't do anything. I don't see anything good coming in
the future there.

Speaker 11 (01:41:08):
That's it.

Speaker 8 (01:41:09):
Any any big, any big wahoo or mahi mahi.

Speaker 13 (01:41:13):
No, I'll tell you what I mentioned.

Speaker 50 (01:41:15):
Last week, we had fifty five pound mahi. That was
a nice one. They caught that off shore in a
tournament called the Odds Tournament, and that was the biggest.
I haven't heard anything. A twenty one pound fish one
the ladies tournament last Saturday at the Elks Club in Tavan.
Heir twenty one pound fish won that one. That's a
great tournament, girl. So I'll tell you next year again
involved they pay ten places. I mean, you know, you

(01:41:36):
catch that's five pound dolphin, you might be on the stage.

Speaker 11 (01:41:39):
With everybody else.

Speaker 13 (01:41:40):
That's a great tournament.

Speaker 11 (01:41:41):
And I've been involved.

Speaker 50 (01:41:43):
I didn't fished this year, but they it's a great tournament,
something for the future, and there's something going on all
the time down here as far as that's concerned. So nope,
I don't heard much about any big fish. Fish used
to pour through here this time here, back in the day,
and it was nothing to catch four or five or
six fish fifteen to thirty pounds every day on every
rock that was that was. That was no big deal

(01:42:04):
in Miami, not only here, Miami, both all the way
up and down the line. And those guys can tell
you the same thing. Where did all the big fish got. Well,
I don't know where they all went, but they're certainly
not coming through. We're not short stopping them down here.
So the guys in Miami up this. Wow, they're stopping
him in the keys that we're not stopping them because
they're not here either.

Speaker 11 (01:42:22):
So that's all. That's the world we live in right now. Guys.

Speaker 10 (01:42:25):
Yeah, yeah, can you I gotta circle back to this
Jimmy Buffett thing.

Speaker 8 (01:42:29):
I you know, one story, just give us one quick story.

Speaker 50 (01:42:36):
Well, I guess we were over Cuba place called albou Dagita,
and we we're smoking some big cigars and drinking some
food from margaritas. That's where the margaritas were invented over
there in Cuba. And the La Floriditha bouda guita just
too great, just two great places. And where we're over there,
he wrote a song. Uh, he wrote a couple of songs.
I'll tell you it's amazing. He went over there on

(01:42:57):
a boat called the Western Union, a sailboat out of Key.
He was on that boat and I brought the blue
Chip over and we were the fishing boat and that
was the mothership. And we stayed downtown. And uh, it's
just amazing how he can, Uh, he can just write
songs like it was. I wrote two songs. I can't
remember the name of the right now, but they went
big time, just on a trip over on the Southern
uh Southern Western Union. I'm sorry, And uh that's it.

(01:43:19):
We just had around and I had some great picture
of him and I smoke his big long cigars with
a week's grow. Thought of facing our big old hats on.
He was kind of going bald even back then. By anyway, anyway,
we had a good time. We just had arms around
each other talking life in general, and uh, he's just
it was a wonderful, wonderful person to.

Speaker 11 (01:43:38):
Spend time with.

Speaker 50 (01:43:39):
And uh, we didn't do anything crazy like jump off
for a high board and anything like that over there,
but we did have a good time just spending time fishing.
We didn't catch we had We had him on the
boat with uh what's his name, Uh, Florentes Gregoria Fuentes.
That was the captain of the Pilar. And he was
on the boat one day and Jimmy was on the
boat and the Jimmy's on the bridge and me and

(01:44:01):
Gregoria was I was running the boat and then Gregoria
was sitting there and I said, Gregorio, I said, you
run the boat. So he ran the boat and he
had big tears in his eyes and he was crying,
and he said that his grandaughters there. I said, why
is he crying? Her name was Americus. He said he
was so happy to be that behind his wheel of
this beautiful boat. And the Pilar's over there. It's a
wreck now, but anyway I saw it. It was home

(01:44:23):
beat up, not taking care of my boat fifty foot
sport fishing, and he had nothing like it. And Jimmy
was just up there with me and just sit back
and watch Gregorio a little bit of tears in his eyes,
drinking and J ANDB Scotch and smoking big cigars with it.
So that's inning the stories about Jimmy just taking it
all in with us.

Speaker 13 (01:44:39):
It was.

Speaker 50 (01:44:39):
It was just a wonderful time, just wonderful.

Speaker 14 (01:44:42):
He pays such a great picture. I could actually see
you guys on the boat and the like. It was
just yeah, book man, totally.

Speaker 11 (01:44:53):
I just did.

Speaker 50 (01:44:54):
I just did a seminar this week and that was
the name of it. I should write a book. I
did a summer. He just passed away, and he was
with me thirty four. He left when he turned sixty three,
which is, you know, ten years ago. So it sounds
like he was working for because I'm retired up too.
But anyway, he left us last month. And he was
the iron man of Almarada. Anybody knows Almorad and knows

(01:45:15):
my business, the blue chip. He was a man who
kept it going for me. I'll tell you what. He
was there every morning. He never missed the trip. In
thirty four years. He was there every day, never got sick,
never took a vacation. He was just there. And tell
you what, every the town really misses him, and so
do I. But anyways, we'll remember it. So a great guy.
They called him Waito, the iron Man of Almarad. He
left us last month.

Speaker 11 (01:45:36):
So there you go.

Speaker 9 (01:45:36):
Oh God bless him.

Speaker 50 (01:45:40):
Right, Yes he is. That's right, he's up there, and
my goodness, I loved it. He was wonderful.

Speaker 16 (01:45:46):
All right.

Speaker 10 (01:45:47):
Yeah, but listen, man, we appreciate it. And thanks for
that awesome story.

Speaker 8 (01:45:51):
I know one I will never forget. Yes, that's for
our listeners right there.

Speaker 50 (01:45:57):
So well, I'll gie you will submitted. You know, I've
been fifty five. He is in business. I'm still in
