old school coming up in about two weeks. Man at
the Big Time. Oh yeah, big show, buddy. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Man got people from California, Hawaii, Texas, Carolina's, Georgia, New York,
New Jersey.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Pretty cool. TikTok vid of our interview with the Hawaiian guy,
was it Eddie David? David?

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Rather?

Speaker 2 (01:03):
It was really well done man, Thanks, good job of
the whole shark VIDs and photo.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
Cut a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
You know, it was like ten minutes, so I had
to get it to like two three minutes.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
I tell you have to fit things in. You speed
our voices up to we like twice fast, just like
you have to fast our audio, I'll get the real person.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
Yeah, that's you have to do that though, because if
you don't, it's just too long.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
You guy's gonna log onto Joe's TikTok website and see
what he does. Either. It's really amazing stuff you put
out there, great stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
No, it's good stuff for the show. I always, like
I said, I love doing this. It's it's fun for me,
and so we throw it up on our extreme TikTok
and uh it's a blast.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
It's extreme man, for sure. Yeah. You never had a
chance to talk to the Caps last night, to try
to talk to Jimbo, and he totally blew me off
because he was having some fun with other things. So
I never got a report from him at all. He
was they always blew you. He's with us Bud like
buddymultiple buds as in Wiser.

Speaker 5 (02:02):
Ah, that's a good friend.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Mister budd and Wiser. Okay, put it together, yeah Bud
Wiser nice. Yeah, so he had more chances to buddy
at his beer than talk to this idiot here. Okay,
that's just totally totally normal. Yeah, he's only one holding
I was here, actually the keys is he still with
his buds?

Speaker 4 (02:19):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
We'll find out if he's like talking like this, if
something's up there. Joey the Fabulous Thomas Flyer Man himself
and we doing a special intro. We're just bringing them on, man.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
I think at this point he might just bring him on.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Just bring him on and bring him my cold. Yeah,
all right, Jim Bow, thanks for waking up buddy on
the show. Good morning to you.

Speaker 6 (02:39):
There he is, I'm here, good morning.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
WHOA.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Last night we checked yet you like that? That was
really short and sweet, nothing nothing glossy about it. But
we talked last night and you had like three words
to say to me and that was pretty much it.

Speaker 6 (02:54):
Yeah, No, I think it was two started with an
F and a U.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Exactly where it was. Man, great chat man.

Speaker 6 (03:04):
Love its great.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Love is just so thick, Joe You feel it?

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Oh, I feel it.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
It's funny is going to talk to you that way?
He talks only to me that way. No, he likes me, yeah,
a lot more than me. I don't know why, but
he does because your copa so just want him over, dude,
I think it did. Yeah, we have a connection. You
have a connection for sure, man, So jever hear the
key's fishing, just goofle off a little bit. But what's
happened in your world here, buddy on the flyer?

Speaker 6 (03:31):
My man, Well, it's been kind of slow the last
few days off shore. Most everybody is still heading out
there looking for dolphin, and a few of the buss
are getting lucky finding them, especially you can find something
good floating, but a lot of the fish have been
small still, so you've got to weed through him to
find some keepers. And I haven't heard of anything big

(03:54):
maybe ten pounds if that, pretty much. Anything that's over
twenty inches is considered big for me lately. So there's
been some some small ones birds on top of them.
The seaweed's still been very bad. A lot of days
it's been just it's been hard to troll through it.

(04:14):
It's so scattered out. But that's one of our best
you know, that's one of our best things going Otherwise.
A couple of days we've been trolling the plans along
the edge and getting in an occasional king and a
few banitas, so that's you know, beanita's kings and a dolphin.
That's what we got going on at least for the

(04:38):
charter guys fishing in the daytime. What's been happening good
is the nighttime snapper fishing has been very good. Now
I don't I don't personally do that, but some of
the guys I talked to, especially like Wayne Cohn. I
don't know if he's going to be on the show today,
but his boat has been going out. That's doing night trips.

(04:59):
I don't know about it every night, but whatever night
they can get out and catching some big mangroves and
some yellow tails and buttons, and that's one of the
best things going right now. And it's not five hundred
degrees out at nine either, So yeah, it cuts into
my beauty rest. So that's not what I do. But
that's an option if you want to get out there

(05:20):
and catch some fish for the frying pan, especially.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Okay, why do you choose not the bottom fish?

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Yeah, I was just why.

Speaker 6 (05:30):
I love the bottom fish bottom fish a lot, just
not at night. So why because I don't I'm afraid
of the dark. I don't like running around at night.
I need my beauty sleep. I don't stay this good
looking by staying up all night. You know, there's a
lot of excuses.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
If there's anyone that feels I think I do. I'm
in bed by like eight o'clock.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Did you hear my crack come back?

Speaker 4 (05:55):
Yes? I did.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
I said, you get a lot more sleep, then a
lot more. Yeah, a week, Jim O, I get it. Man,
you fish all day long? Why fish at night? It's
a logy.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
That'd be the last thing I'd want to do, exactly.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Yeah, thank you very much, so, Jim. I. Let's say
guy watch look up his trailer to do a truck
to his boat and head off to the ramp man
and he's just checking the show for the first time.
What direction would you point him? Where would he go?
What would he look for? Catch a fish?

Speaker 6 (06:31):
Well, that's a good question. I ask myself that every morning,
which way should I go? And some days I go
to the correct direction and other days I don't. But
probably still looks like it's going to be not flat calm,
but relatively calm.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Today.

Speaker 6 (06:50):
Go out there and look for some birds, see if
you can find a dolphin, and maybe in the afternoon
you can go up on the reef and see if
you can catch a daytime snapper. If you want to
stay out laid into the dark and catch some nighttime once,
but dolphin fishing.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
It probably believe be what I would do.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
I'm down on the keys, like you mentioned. I'm heading
over to Flamingo this morning to see if I can
catch a snook or a redfish or whatever is thumbling
up to bite. So we're gonna run from Alamarado. We're
gonna run across the bay and go to Flamingo. And
I don't have any live band. I've got some shrimp,
so we'll try and see me catch a snook on

(07:30):
a shrimp.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Those buoye balls that are kind of like hanging over
wrecks and reefs to protect them from like the sea
anchors and stuff to produce fish. If you tie up
the one with your boat and drop downt's say some
shrimp to the bottom and you know, hang out there.

Speaker 6 (07:46):
I appreciate, Yeah, at times they do the problem. If
there's a booey ball, it's usually on a very nice
piece of reef, but everybody goes there. So when you
untie your boat, the next guy and ties up to
that movie, so they they get a lot of pressure
on those spots, and you don't want to be dropping

(08:07):
your anchor on the nice reef and smashing up the coral.
That's what that's all about. Nowadays, you know, with these
trolling motors, you don't have to even drop your anchor.
You see more and more boats the troller motors. You
can just drop that trolling motor, put it on your
your GPS spot lock, and sit right where you want
to be without having to put an anchor down and

(08:28):
smashing up that reef as well. So yeah, those spots
are good, but they get just way too much pressure.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Yeah, I'm watched the Vitty Sacks he's on the live
stream this morning, and to speaking of the bottle fishing.
By the way, I saw post this week Jim off
you I want to take some tips from Vitty Sacks.
He got some bottlefish like you would believe he was.
He was hooked up. Vinny was nailing them. Yeah like
what like yeah, what snappers and things like.

Speaker 6 (08:57):
But it's the deep dropping as he reef fishing.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
I'm gonna let the captain spill his own beans. I'm
just saying. I saw a Facebook look at y b
normal fishing. Okay, all there, that's his stick, you know that, right's? Yeah,
his stick.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Yeah, that's his stick.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
He's good with that, like he's they call him like
the yellow tail masters hetlefish Man.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Yeah, Jimbos got too much beauty rest to get it.

Speaker 7 (09:24):
All right.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Jebo Sert the keys man, What are you all fishing for?
You said, Flamingo? What redfish snook?

Speaker 6 (09:29):
You look for red fish nook. Maybe we'll get lucky
and get a permit or a kobea even. But I
haven't been over to Flamingo in a few weeks, so
I have no clue. I made a few phone calls
with some friends that fish over there regularly, and I
got zero infos. So we're going blind.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
We're gonna we're gonna wing it. See what fights?

Speaker 2 (09:50):
So you mean somebody else ignored you like you Norman?
That's pretty cool?

Speaker 6 (09:53):
Oh, pretty much. He goes downhill for.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
Sure, Jimbo, any any news on Wahoo.

Speaker 6 (09:58):
Man man, I have not heard of any. It's been
hard to fish in that area where you would catch
a wall because the seaweed's been so bad. I get
especially with a planer you go ten feet, you got
to pull it in and pull the seaweed back off.
So I'm sure there is a lot who out there.

(10:19):
It's just you gotta drag your bait of clean wheat
free bait over one's head, maybe get a bite out
of them. But personally, no, I haven't caught one nor
heard of any of the charter guys that I keep
in contact with on a daily basis.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
What worries me is that, Like, so a few days ago,
I took Mia really wanted to use I got her
like this little boogie board thing right, and she wanted
to go use it at the beach. So I took
her and her friend with the boogie boards just in
deer fields over by the pier.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
Dude, we could not even get to the water.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
How much is piled up on shore. It is terrible,
like I mean, and it smells.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
Oh it stinks.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
We pulled in and it's tied in a flush eating
bacteria exactly.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
And here's the thing, Like, so I have these kids
with me, we walk up onto the beach. Just to
even get to the water, they would be in waist
deep of sargas.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
That's no fun, man, I mean, that's bad. That sucks.

Speaker 5 (11:15):
That's really bad. Like you cannot even go in the water.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
That's bad news. Well, Jim, but we're gonna rock the clock, man,
but have a good morning, have two scrambled eggs and
the two Budweisers, and have a five kickoff to your morning, buddy, Jim.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
That sounds like a good start.

Speaker 6 (11:27):
I'm on my way.

Speaker 2 (11:31):

flyers so much. But thanks for waking up man. We
appreciate you first, and to shoot every weekend. Dude, you're
the man. Yeah, see your.

Welcome back to the show. Never one fishing show on

dealership in all America, America, not a Vetcher's Marine group.
My brothers, how much say it without bragging? I'm worrying
the appropriate shirt. This is fishing across the front. Tells
me what the hell we're talking about? Yeah, which is great.
You got your f cat shirt on? Yes, I do so.
I will say. My hair is definitely on point today. Ah,

(16:25):
it's definitely bagging. Yeah, it's locked in. Man, it's locked
in like tight.

Speaker 5 (16:31):
You know what I just noticed? So the so you
die it right with the blonde.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
I'm not gonna mention Evan what about it?

Speaker 5 (16:38):
No, it's just it's the blonde. Is it's a very
fresh looking blonde today.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
It's fresh? Yeah, thank you, it.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
Looks newly blonded.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
I like to see what your hair looks like you.
I saw one. I saw one photo. I said, never again.
Leave the hat on. Even at night. Don't scare Maria Reside,
the king of sneak ahead, she is online one shut up? Yeah,
the great that's the man. Corey no Akowski, snakehead world

(17:10):
record holder bar none, Corey? What's up? Corey?

Speaker 6 (17:15):
Warning?

Speaker 19 (17:15):
Guys? How are we doing that?

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Too shabby? My friend? You're heading out to some strange
place to catch snake kids today? You're staying home? Or
what do you do abouddy?

Speaker 20 (17:23):
Uh?

Speaker 19 (17:23):
Well, we're not going any bad neighborhood today. I do
have two guys from uh, two guys from Maryland, so
we're see what they can do, uh snakehead fishing for
our bull dyes down here. So they got a bunch
of those northerns up in Maryland, so they want to
traver some bulls eyes down here.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
So we'll see what happens.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
You ment you last weekend, your fish of some shady neighborhood.
I apparently you survived because you start talking about us today.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
I did.

Speaker 19 (17:49):
I did survive and I did get a did get
a sixteen and a half pounder? Yeah, so I.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
Did people really that big? I saw that. I think
I saw the photo. Maybe they did not, But think
about that sixteen pound fish dude, freshwater fish of any
species is ginormous. Joy.

Speaker 5 (18:12):
Wait, what's the new record again, wasn't it?

Speaker 19 (18:14):
It's seven seventeen to one the one.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Oh my gosh, man, so you beat the chicken the
record you had chicken wing fish.

Speaker 5 (18:22):
Yeah, but wait, think about this, I think, Corey, what
was your last record?

Speaker 19 (18:26):
Uh, fifteen and a half. So he made it by
five pounds. It was sixty to new the well, the
one I got just sixteen and a half.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
He beat his own biggest fish. Yeah. Wow, man, pretty cool.
That is cool. That's cool. Yeah, your clients starts out
for snake heads today or a variety of fish there, Corey,
We figure.

Speaker 19 (18:45):
No, it's mostly it's mostly snakeheads. It's really everything I've
been having lately is snakeheads. I had a guy yesterday too,
and uh, he was from Georgia. I've had it before,
and he got a It was good. I mean for
a half day he got a ten pounder and then
he got a no, and you got another twelve fish,
and but it could have got another fifteen. Just it's

(19:07):
always a hooking thing sometimes with clients, and I have them,
you know, just being able to hook them. So we
put on a chatter bait and started hooking them really good.
And that's what we got all the bigger fish on. So,
you know, it's but it's been good. I mean even
to day, I got to sixteen and a half. I
got a fourteen and a half too, So so they

(19:27):
it's they've been they've been popping really good lately. Hopefully
that happens again today. It was good yesterday. I mean
we had some other big fish on too, so and
they've they've been biting good. It's been in a variety
of places too. I mean it's it's not even just
been one place.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Is there is there a trick to getting these these
big ones because I know a lot of people lose them.

Speaker 19 (19:48):
Man the line snaps, Yeah, yeah, you gotta, you know,
you the biggest thing is you got to really kind
of you know, watch your line, you know, make sure
it's not freight up or anything. You know, when you're
as you're fishing along and a lot of times, you
know what a lot of people's problem is. You know,
it's either casting or it's you know, it's it's setting

(20:09):
the hook. Setting the hooks always the biggest thing when
it comes to those bigger fish. When you set the
hook and you and you get hooked onto that fish.
You got to keep applying pressure and tension on that
line because a little bit of tension you lose on
that line, you could that fish could pop off depending
on where you hook them at. Sure you know, just
because you know if you don't get him, like the

(20:30):
best place of the hook them, if you're going to
really get them, is either you get them in the
eye socket, you get them in the top of the head,
or you get them on the side of their face,
like on the side of their cheeks.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
We get them.

Speaker 19 (20:41):
There's those three places.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
Ye get them in the eye socket. Yeah, I just
blinked for that kind of discussion.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
Corey.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
I have a question for you, man, I'm having some
of the lately fishing get my waist for peacock bass.
I get these lures that come to the mail whatever else,
and it seems like the hook's just dull out like
within like the first couple of tries. Do you normally
replace your hooks? And how important are these really super
sharp hooksause I've been missed a fish like crazy. They
just are not getting nailed with those barbed hooks. Man, Joy,

(21:16):
I don't know man.

Speaker 19 (21:17):
Yeah, yeah, some some brands you do have to change
out the treble hooks. Yeah, you know, when it comes
to snakehead, they don't use a lot of trouble hooks
just because you know, treble Sometimes they don't have a
lot of times they don't get the best hooks that
or hook up ratio, so I go to the single hooks,
which is usually the better deal. But yeah, if you're

(21:39):
gonna use treuble looks like if I'm using for peacocks
or even large amouth, I I tend to change out
the hooks depending on the brand. Some brands they do
put a good treble hook or a good hook on
that bluer. But yeah, a lot of times I will
change it if I have to, you know, to fit
the cheap hook.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Gamakatsu hooks You a fan, Yeah, no, those are those
are my Those are my favorite.

Speaker 19 (22:03):
They always have been.

Speaker 21 (22:04):
They're great.

Speaker 19 (22:04):
Yeah, especially for snakeheads. They they always last the e
w G which is extra wide gap hook. That's probably
my favorite wide gap hook for a top water frog.
For snakeheads, they don't bend out unless you catch like
forty fish on it, and you know, after that then

(22:25):
they may be bend. But those things hold up, no
tips break off, So they've always been really reliable hooks
for me.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
These eagle claw hooks for wal Joe, those are like
the kmart of of hooks. Much yeah, garbage, yeah, just total.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
I've had peacocks over and over again with me or
whatever bend those hooks and it's not even like they're
not even big, you know.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
And some of those are aluminum, which is weird. That
is weird, man.

Speaker 5 (22:54):
They must be mixing that with something and.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
I don't know, keep it cheaper, keep it cheaper, keep
it yeah.

Speaker 7 (22:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
Anyways, the importance of hook is definitely there, and of
course the importance of fighting fish and hook him up
is also key. So what part of the wood your
fish is today, Corey? Where you want to go? Glades?
Local canals? Where you going?

Speaker 19 (23:09):
Man, We're going going local canals for the snakeheads, So
we'll uh, we'll see. Hopefully we can get some good fish.
Hopefully it's not too stagnant still today. It's the weather's
been pretty good lately, so we'll see hopefully, hopeful those
big fish continue and catch fish.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Are you actively pursuing taking back your world record from
this hand feeder.

Speaker 5 (23:33):
He's got to be i'd.

Speaker 19 (23:35):
Be well to be honest, to be well, I'll be honest.
I really believe that the guy caught it on an
artificial lover. I do now. I will say that it
was a fish that was, you know, probably getting fed
at some point, probably in somebody's backyard. But I do
believe he caught it on artificial lure.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
Oh yeah, I do too.

Speaker 19 (23:56):
I think he caught I don't.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
I don't.

Speaker 19 (23:58):
I don't think he went there and put it, you know,
a piece of food. And you know, like I said,
if a fish like that that's been caught or it's
like it's like a like it looks like a fish
like that, it's fed. As long as you catch artificial
lou or, I don't care. I've done that. I've thought
him that way too before, so I you know, I
as long as artificial I don't really care for the record.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
I mean, what if it's like, what if I go
out tomorrow and catch them?

Speaker 2 (24:25):
I think, because you know me, you know out they're legit, bate,
I'm talking about something pond feeding snakehead, you know, the
leftover table scrap.

Speaker 5 (24:35):
No, I know, you know, come on, man, I know
I'm just you.

Speaker 19 (24:38):
Know, okay, I mean, I mean, yeah, I don't for
me the record. I mean, if I catch it again,
I do, If I don't, whatever, you know, I don't,
it's not the end of the world.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Had it eight times? I mean, why not share the love?
You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (24:50):
Right, Joe, I think deep down and this is just
what I think. I just think knowing Corey and listen,
I don't know Corey to to well, but I think
I'm getting a good gasp on what Corey and the
guy he is. And I think deep down he's saying,
I'm I'm.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Gonna get that record.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
And I bet you when you saw that sixteen And
I bet you when you saw that sixteen pounder that
you were reeling up the other day, you were sitting
there going.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
Oh, I think I did it. He's good. I think
I did it. But I know he's dreaming of that retake.

Speaker 5 (25:30):
The He's a competitor, right like us.

Speaker 19 (25:33):
Yeah, I mean, I mean, yeah, there's a part of
me that would want it back, of course. I mean,
it's just you know, because it's just a pursuit of
that giant fish, you.

Speaker 5 (25:41):
Know, right, It makes it fun, you.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
Know, Yeah, that title holder is going to be some
nice I have no records being the dumbest person on
the planet anyway, So well you'll just throw out I
own that.

Speaker 19 (25:56):
I will say, I will say that. We'll say the
fish that I did catch the other day though, was
very similar built to the one that he caught, so
it was that's that's how they're really going to get
that size. If they get fat like that, that's just
unless there's like a forty five forty six incher out there,
But I doubt.

Speaker 5 (26:14):
It real quick, I know, I know, we're alone time, Corey.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
Do you think maybe what could be happening since this
fish isn't really from here that the fish now given
that it's kind of marinated itself in South Florida in
these canals?

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Wait wait, wait marinated itself?

Speaker 21 (26:32):
Was it?

Speaker 5 (26:33):
You know, like when you marinate a eat and it
just like gets.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
In and it's marinated itself.

Speaker 5 (26:37):
Well listen, wait, listen to what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
Finish police, Yeah, yeah, totally.

Speaker 7 (26:40):
So.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
Do you think at this point now it's evolving and
sort of changing to this environment in Florida to maybe
in South America or whatever, it's leaner and maybe thinner
because it's got a you know, it's up against all
this competition. But now that it's in Florida, this maybe
type of snakehead doesn't have the amount of competition it

(27:04):
had there. So now it's getting fatter, it's getting you know,
just more slothier, and just the girth is just bigger.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
I think that could be a possibility.

Speaker 19 (27:13):
It could, Yeah, I mean that can be. It's I
still I still, I still believe, and I still believe,
like the way that that's the one that he caught
and then the one that I just caught. Their fish
that were you know, they were enhanced by being you
know in a canal or a lake that's you know,

(27:34):
being fed by you know, a homeowner that's just throwing
their scraps out there.

Speaker 16 (27:39):
Right.

Speaker 19 (27:39):
But that's a possible, that's a possibility to I mean,
if that can't happen, if you don't have as much
competition in a lake or a ditch or a canal, yes,
they they will fatten up more than you know, if
they have more competition around.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Yes, So that is.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
Possiblity, Corey. You're your main pointing out of skill or
fish are marinating, that's where they're all going to be.
I've never heard I think that's marinate ever using a fishing.

Speaker 5 (28:01):
I just made a steak the other day, so that
kind of I.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
Mean marinating the population of fish. I don't understand that
at all.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
You don't get that.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
What it come from?

Speaker 16 (28:09):
Dude?

Speaker 5 (28:09):
Do you like marinate meat would and it seeps into
the meat just like the.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Fish would be assimilating, not marinis assimilating.

Speaker 5 (28:17):
Yes, they're not aliens.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
Asimilating what look it up.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Assimilating means that you're taking over like a like a
race chat GPT.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
It'll explain it to you. Okay, her name is Dorries whatever, man, Corey,
have a great week and hook up man, get tight
lines and break that record, buddy.

Speaker 19 (28:33):
Okay, thank you, all right, good week guys.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
Than you.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
But for marinating snake heads all it's a good term.
It's a dumb ass. Oh anyway, what's don't come back?
And we're fishing back with Wayne Cott coming up here

Speaker 2 (32:57):
I can never put together your words when you sing. Anyway,
I'm talking the Great Wayne Cot of the Reward Fishing Fleet. Wayne,
good morning to see your buddy.

Speaker 31 (33:04):
Hey Wayne, Hey, good, good morning, gentlemen. I think Ozzie
missed the shot there. He could have done Ozzie does Morrison,
you know?

Speaker 5 (33:11):
Yeah, see look at that sick except.

Speaker 31 (33:15):
He didn't have anybody could play that could do the
instrumentals like them guys.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
So sorry, for sure that's true.

Speaker 4 (33:21):
Wayne.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
How you been. What's bite on the Reward fleet this week?

Speaker 31 (33:23):
Buddy boy, good man, I'm excited. I get to fish
today and tomorrow. I've got a I've got a gang
on the Reward one, my fifty six foot We're gonna
load up on bait here in about an hour. And
and they said we want mahi. So I said, well,
I got two ways of doing that. I said, We're
gonna go out there and push it look as hard

(33:44):
as we can, or we'll go to the fish market.
Other than that, I'm not quite sure else I can
find him.

Speaker 21 (33:49):
But.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
The fish.

Speaker 31 (33:52):
Wayne, Come on, man, I'm just goofing off with you guys.
So but anyway, yeah, that's that's my business.

Speaker 4 (33:59):
Today.

Speaker 31 (33:59):
We got a regular half day boat going out at
nine and then want to get at one forty five.
This week, it's kind of been the same stuff. The
night fishing is off the charts right now. Captain Dave
is getting his limit and it gives the customers a choice.
So once they get their limited, mangrove snappers is five
per person, so it's like he does a boat count
and that's it, and it's the right way to do it.

(34:21):
And we tell folks, look, if you caught five and
the guy next to you is caught on, you know,
help him catch a few or whatever, you know, but
work it out, you know. So we try to have
a real a really happy boat when people are sharing
the experience with each other and having fun. But yeah,
there's been a couple of nights hour of the fish
bite and he's done and getting seventy eighty mangroves in

(34:42):
the boat and that's plenty. And the cool thing about
mangrove snappers, they don't the fishery doesn't seem to get hurt.
Thank god, they're not. Damn figured out a way to
net them yet, and they don't long lie. I don't
think you're too dang smart. So the cool thing is
they buy when they want to. But most snappers are
like that and that's it. You can't make them bite man,
so and they quit when they want to. And when

(35:02):
the sharks show up. You know, if you have two
or three of them get eaten by sharks, you move
the boat and go somewhere else. Sitting there feet in
the shark right, you know, don't make it easier for him. Man,
that's the right shark.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
And Steve has got the jaw steam playing. They're good buddy.

Speaker 7 (35:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 31 (35:16):
You know when Alan Sherman and I, when he used
to mate for me, we used to we used to
catch him and kill him because they were they were
just destroying us out there and mangro fishing at night.
And that was fifty years ago, so you know, attitudes
have changed. So everything deserves to live to a point.

Speaker 23 (35:31):
So anyway you.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
Ever put chumb off the back of your boat, I've
heard of these live bait. You ever chum at all?

Speaker 31 (35:37):
Of course, of course, of course we put a chump
bag on a lot of times for mangos. We'll put
a chump bag more on the bottom in the middle
of the boat and the bow, because if you touch
them on the back, and you got a party boat
and you got people fishing all around the boat, you're
only fishing for those people in the back.

Speaker 6 (35:53):
Now.

Speaker 31 (35:53):
Mangroves, thank god, thank god, mangrove snappers, when they fire up,
they bite, They will bite very good right on the bottom.
So we may cut the chumming down a little bit.
You know, yellowtails definitely come to chum really good. Lately,
have some of the kids trips. Man, I've had two
and three four pound mangroves up in the chum and
twelve feet of water. What they're doing in there, but
good luck, good luck, good luck trying to get them

(36:15):
to eat. Good luck trying to get him. Yeah, yeah,
well that's that's is a couple of lost things that
people don't realize. But yeah, I mean, I grew up
as a kid. We used to fish twelve fifteen, twenty
feet of water. We were little kids in the Boston
Whaler on the bottom and catch mangros and red groupers
and stuff. And once a chumming thing came along years
ago when I worked out a hall Over. We used to,

(36:36):
you know, we did chum the same because the owners
never wanted to buy block chump. Now I'm buying those
big twenty pound blocks. You know, right, you got that
much time out there, man.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
You only got some red atomic atomic chump. Ever heard
of atomic atomic?

Speaker 32 (36:52):
No?

Speaker 21 (36:52):
I have not.

Speaker 31 (36:53):
I have not, but I think while yet. I think
Gulp may be coming out with something soon.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
I just did it. I do.

Speaker 31 (36:59):
I test for pin fishing and Berkeley and stuff, which
is kind of cool.

Speaker 21 (37:02):
They give me stuff.

Speaker 31 (37:03):
I beat it up and if it breaks, I sent
it back and if it doesn't break, I.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
Get to keep it.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
Did anything ever happen with those uh hey, Wayne, you
ever hear of those bait balls that they remember? I
think Golt made them for a while and they were
popular for like a year. It was like a ball, right,
and then you would like release it and it would
drop to the bottom where like you were fishing, yeah,
and it would like explode like a bomb almost of just.

Speaker 31 (37:28):
Like well, you know, they're they're trying to play off
lest they're playing off that old that old keys, the
old keys away of yellow tail. And was you'd you'd
bought you you've done you take a piece of bait,
ball it up and it was called sall.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
I've done it. It's called the sandball man. I've done
it many many times. That's where you had to.

Speaker 31 (37:46):
Wear your rubber boots and you had to wear your
your grundans and stuff. And I just to catch a fish.
And I will tell you it's not necessary. Depends on
how many you need to catch. That's really what it
boils down to. Once you get yellow tails. And if
you're downs especially, get him up behind the boat. You
can patiently charm him and wait till you're ready to fish.
You know, you know, speaker, give me a job. It
reminds me of something that maybe Wayne recalls. I used

(38:09):
to endorse a product called the Instant Fisherman, the bucket Fisherman, Remember.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
That, Wayne, And I think that. Yeah, they filmed at
they filmed on your boat once and the commercial series.

Speaker 31 (38:18):
Well, there's there's two parts of that story. The first
part was that it was the po peel pocket Fisherman
and the guy, that guy was an amazing inventor of
hokey stuff. He was I mean, that's the best way
you could put it, right, man, job hey man, Yeah, man,
he had he had a He created a spray paint
that was that that wouldn't hurt you, and he had
it in different colors and you spray your head, yes,

(38:40):
so it looked.

Speaker 2 (38:41):
Like he had hair. And Joe Rock was a genius man.
He made this chicken. You know, this is a slow
cooker thing. It would say, just set it and forget it. Anyway,
the turn. I did an infomercial back in the seventies
for this instances the Fisherman Pocket Fisherman that this piece
of trash ever invented, and he sold a billion of them.

(39:03):
Oh my god, Oh my god, is insane. Yeah, the
beauty of advertising, man, yep, it was great.

Speaker 31 (39:09):
So the end of the story with that with me
is when when the what do you call it?

Speaker 4 (39:14):
Ran out?

Speaker 31 (39:14):
The pattern ran out? Some dude calls me up as
in my Beach Marine. He says, what are you going
to charge me to? I want to bring out a
whole film goat.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
He shows me what he is.

Speaker 31 (39:22):
I said, I said, I know what that is. He
says yeah. He says, well, we bought the patent or
something and he had it and he was remarketing it.
So I said, fine, I'll take you. I tripled my price,
and because of course, well because he had the right guide,
and because I was ended up being better in the
camera in front.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
Of a so called talent. But that's okay, okay, and I.

Speaker 31 (39:44):
Earned my money and we caught a tear twelve pound
nurse shark and a few other things on it, you know,
and uh, but yeah, that's so that's that's kind of
like the end of the story. He remarketed it again.
But yeah, po Fil was like man, he was like
the He was like Einstein and Sandford and sons all
rolled in the one.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
You know why we're gonna rock the coctors. A man
waiting behind you, my friend. But have a great weekend
and get fish on the rewards. We can't help kids
fishing free kids, fish free the kids. So thank you,
you're the man, dude. Guys, let's go bye, all right.

Speaker 16 (40:16):
So.

Speaker 2 (40:20):
Happily back for Midaly. Joey, what do you say like
blue with that European thing?

Speaker 5 (40:35):
But it was at the time, What the.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
Hell did you say? We have no idea anyway, Jim GV.
Matthews on the line one, feeling happy and snappy. He's
got some news he wants to bring out. Joe he
was in print this week, which people still reprint. I
don't know apparently do. Okay, hello, Jim, you know I
uh I do.

Speaker 33 (40:56):
Write for the weekly newspaper called the Pelican.

Speaker 34 (41:00):
It's up here in northeast Broward County, from Laudadell by
the Sea up to Deerfield. And uh, you know, we
got some good cool stuff, man, and and uh, just
getting everything ready for a miniseason, buddy, that's what this
is all about.

Speaker 4 (41:15):
Okay.

Speaker 34 (41:15):
Uh, you should have already had all your gear checked
out because right now, if the gear ain't working, I
don't know where you're gonna get it fixed.

Speaker 33 (41:24):
So that's number one. But then you've got to have
a plan.

Speaker 34 (41:27):
So today and tomorrow we're gonna do some scouting and
we're gonna check out a few places.

Speaker 7 (41:33):
Now.

Speaker 34 (41:33):
Remember, lobsters have legs, so they walk, so you might
you might go, oh, man, this is the this is
the spot. And then you come there on Wednesday, there's
nothing there. Either somebody got to you cut that spot
ahead of you, or probably walked.

Speaker 33 (41:50):
Away went somewhere else.

Speaker 21 (41:56):
You know.

Speaker 34 (41:57):
We combined the Chiefy Crew with the Relentless Crew about
four or five years ago. So uh, it's it's a
good crew, and we've got some good spots that we've
over the years. And that's the interesting part about spiny lobsters.
They're kind of in the same spots. They sort of
gravitate to the same area. The key will be in

(42:20):
this and you know when we check today and tomorrow,
are they clustering together? Where are they? Are they clustered together?
Just because you see, you know, a couple here, a
couple there, no big deal. But when you look in
the honey hole and there's you know, excess of ten,
now we're talking. Okay, So the good news is up
here in the Broward County area and even in Miami

(42:43):
Dade Palm Beach, you can get double your limit on
mini season, so instead of your.

Speaker 33 (42:48):
Six, you can get twelve.

Speaker 34 (42:50):
And and on top of that, I have the fwc
Reef Ranger coin which allows me.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
All about that. Yeah, come on, you know what extra
what extra bug jip whoop we do.

Speaker 33 (43:05):
I'm gonna save that one for you. I'm gonna save
that one for you.

Speaker 34 (43:09):
Okay, how about that coin both days, both days so
I can get too. It's good stuff, man, it's good
gettywhere it's twenty five twenty five.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
Get a gold star. Okay, are you happy? Now, we'll
put it on. Put a gold start, right, Okay, let's
get to the good stuff. A minute, really gets good.

Speaker 4 (43:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 33 (43:34):
Water temperatures mid eighties, so we're back in the game.
No big deal, visibilities.

Speaker 34 (43:39):
You're comfortable forty forty feet, which is really really nice,
gentle north current.

Speaker 33 (43:44):
Uh, it's been decent. It's been really really decent.

Speaker 34 (43:48):

Okay, So I'll ask it question this time because I'm
just gonna do it. So, Charles, if you have a
chance to fish with either the extreme man here Joe Hector,
or you're truly the most humble man on the planet,
Eric Hair, the man with the hair branded. I want
George your fish with it for a day. Do you
think beer and women? Oh god, you're putting me on

(01:05:18):
the limb here because I might see Joe sometimes get
in trouble if I say you you can do what
every Just pick one man right off the top of
your head.

Speaker 4 (01:05:26):
I'm gonna I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go with Eric.
I'm gonna.

Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
Oh my god, thanks for Steven Jake Gray to give
me the boo as usual. Thanks for being a fan
of the show man. I'll call after the program today.
Would have pick up your bucket? Okay, thanks for guys.
We have a great day now, Thank you, sonybody. Let's
check with Betty, Betty and soon Benny's Jets. How you feel?

(01:05:51):
You feel good now? I feel just feel refreshed, I
feel marinated. Actually all right, very good. Benny's Fishing Charters,
The Man with the Plan benty o morning, good morning, Hey,
hey Benny, Oh Benny, football seasons around to Ben Buddy.
You getting a little excited about that or what? Then?

Speaker 21 (01:06:08):
Oh yeah, I already put my money on the Jets
to win the East.

Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
Hope to bet the ranch because you're gonna lose again.

Speaker 4 (01:06:15):
Dude, that was a good joke.

Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
But man, you're gonna lose your house. You've been on
that too, man, I don't know, dude, Buddy's a diehard fan. Joey.

Speaker 5 (01:06:23):
Who's their quarterback?

Speaker 2 (01:06:24):
Yeah? Who's your quarterback?

Speaker 5 (01:06:25):
I don't even know?

Speaker 21 (01:06:27):
Justin fields?

Speaker 2 (01:06:29):
Oh Fields, Bailey's still there. Okay, all right, check it all.
I'll go last.

Speaker 6 (01:06:35):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:06:36):
Anyway, Betty, what is up on Benny's fishing Chartered?

Speaker 4 (01:06:40):
How you doing, budd?

Speaker 2 (01:06:40):
What's going on? Man?

Speaker 21 (01:06:42):
Yeah, it's been a been a productive week for us.

Speaker 43 (01:06:44):
We were a little slow this week, but definitely got
out got our handful of trips in.

Speaker 21 (01:06:50):
It was still pretty productive out there.

Speaker 43 (01:06:51):
The weeds were a grind, but it was pretty productive
getting out there. I was down in Alamarada for a
few days this week from Saturday to Wednesday, so I
did some fishing down there as well. And it's just
been a pretty productive up and down the coast here.
Captain Tyler held it down at home for us while
I was in the Keys, and he had some good

(01:07:12):
productive trips, including a real big goliath grouper nice that
we don't see too many of here in Pompino Beach.
That was a nice, really big huge grouper that he
got while shark fishing on one of the local wrecks here.

Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
Glias everywhere, man, there are They're everywhere there. People want
to bring them back to Catcher because they're like to
take it over there. They throw they're not the benny. Yeah,
I would say, I would says an.

Speaker 21 (01:07:41):
Abundance of them around in the areas.

Speaker 2 (01:07:44):
What's that.

Speaker 43 (01:07:49):
In the areas Like, let's just say there's some areas
in the West Coast and the Gulf, you know, where
you can't get away from them. There's even some areas
here on the East coast where they're gonna hold and
there's gonna be a lot out of them for us here.

Speaker 21 (01:08:01):
We don't have as much of a problem on our
deeper recks.

Speaker 43 (01:08:05):
I mean, it's like a lot of the divers tell
me there is a lot of them on the recks,
but we're not having issues too many issues with them. Well,
we're catching a lot of them here, you know, and
pomping the beach at least.

Speaker 2 (01:08:17):
So they are plentible. Joe, just so you know, he
just they're not. He just said, you can argue with
the captain, who were you? Cloud man? Be fun he's
a cop perplex Captain.

Speaker 5 (01:08:33):
Ben sitting in this seat next week weeks, I feel.

Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
So let's talk about that for a second shot. Us
the night is your big tournament, okay, and he will
be in your seat doing this radio show. Yeah he will, Benny,
are you said for that big challenge to try to
sell Joey here a little bit.

Speaker 21 (01:08:55):
That's gonna be a tough some tough shoes to fill right.

Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
There, man, Benny will be great. Man, where's a size
three shoe?

Speaker 4 (01:09:01):
Don't worry about it?

Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
Mat Wow, Wow, I'm looking forward. You've been on a
set here now. We've been talking about this for quite
some time. I've had radio guys and gals. I do
some filling work. And after taking some much needed advice
multiple times when people like you know, Stephen, j Gray
and Joe Hector about having maybe a qualified captain on
the show to MC the thing, I said, Boy, it

(01:09:23):
took me like ninety five tries. They finally hit me. Wow,
they're right. You know how they're right.

Speaker 3 (01:09:30):
You know how long Benny, Steven and I have been
clamoring for this. This is what we needed this right now.

Speaker 2 (01:09:37):
I will admit our two other co hosts I've done
a fine job.

Speaker 9 (01:09:41):
But of course some people know everything.

Speaker 2 (01:09:44):
But but thank you for that one, by the way.
But to have a qualified captain of that seat, it's
gonna be great to have expertise. Yes, So I'm looking
forward to Benny and Benny's cat. I know Benny great.
And also Benny's by the way, I guess at radio training.
He did radio high school. He's a forward jock as
they call it. Biz. Yeah, I love that. Okay, So

(01:10:06):
Betty looking for coming back out of retire. Maybe it
should be great. And there's also a little paycheck that
goes with it too. You know, I'm just walking here
for nothing. It's like ten grand right, it's a national
you're about. You're about nine thousand, nine ninety nine dollars.

Speaker 5 (01:10:21):
You pay him right on site, right he comes you.

Speaker 2 (01:10:24):
Guys, I give one of those pictures you get off
your try to cash. Anyway, Betty, what's been bite man?
Before you get out of here? They go going on
with do below.

Speaker 43 (01:10:35):
Yeah, yeah, the bike's in solid I mean, well, I
was down in the Keys and I did a lot
of mahi fishing down there. You know, when you think keys,
you think mahi. It was pretty productive. There was a
lot of fish. There's a lot of small fish, and
you gotta weed through them find the bigger one, or
you got to travel a little farther. It seemed like,
you know, down there, it takes a little bit to

(01:10:56):
get out to nine hundred feets around twenty miles off
shore down there. So we were ending up out there,
taking about twenty mile run on the CV each day
just to get out there. A lot of weeds where
it's almost pointless to stop and work the weeds. We
literally are just running til we've seen the flocks of
birds diving around, and the birds have been even making

(01:11:18):
it a grind where the birds are diving and the
second you get close to them they're breaking up, so
they're being real finicky. I'd say one important thing is,
you know, don't run directly over the birds. Try to
figure out which way they're working. Try to get your
lines in front of them. And that's been the most
productive way to hook up these Mahir dialed in on

(01:11:39):
these small these big schools of small flying.

Speaker 21 (01:11:42):
Fish and they're moving real fast.

Speaker 6 (01:11:44):
Wow.

Speaker 43 (01:11:45):
So to get their attention from that school of bait
to your lure is like the idea That's the trick
right there, is to get these fish focus that are
focused on that bait ball to see your lure, you know,
looking like a bait coming off the bait ball, like
an easy target for them.

Speaker 2 (01:11:59):
You know, great chip, great chip, Yeah, great chip. Yeah.
You ever pull flyers for bait Benny at all?

Speaker 4 (01:12:07):
Yeah? Yees.

Speaker 43 (01:12:07):
Especially you know they got the you know, the Alamorada
flyers like the one that started it all there, you know,
one of the main ones that started at all. That's
something that Captain Mike lets to use a lot, you know,
running a gun for mahi. Yeah, it's it's great for me.
Mike throws it in the spread every once in a
while while he's trolling on the edge here, he's called
wahoo on that thing and everything.

Speaker 2 (01:12:28):
The artificial flyers are the actual uh.

Speaker 43 (01:12:31):
Oh I was talking about, Yeah, the trolling lure of
the flyer, but actual flying fish. Yeah, actually, I'm sorry,
actual flying fish fresh ones for me. That's gonna be
really great bottom bait. I mean, you could rig them up.
I'm sure the troll people probably rig them up in
the Northeast and put flying fish on kites and stuff
like that.

Speaker 21 (01:12:51):
Down here.

Speaker 43 (01:12:52):
Our main thing with those flying fish are going to
be using them for bottom fishing bait.

Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
Gotcha, so usual artificial flyers and killcop or Benny were
gonna doctor clock Man's with a great chet. So thanks
for getting to contact you on your bookings Facebook phone number.

Benny smoking shows so far the jojo Yeah, buddy, this
man is uh. I mean major hardcore, no no playing around,
no real big hatty duty on the intro. Right, just
barely could stay putting up on this, but he does right,
which is commonplace. Yeah, I might add normal for the show.
Is anybody on the yb normal? That great green machine?

(01:18:28):
Vinny Sacks on the show, Vinnie Good on it to your.

Speaker 45 (01:18:30):
Brother any Good morning, Eric and Joe.

Speaker 2 (01:18:34):
How are you, Vinnie? What are you heading to?

Speaker 4 (01:18:36):
Man?

Speaker 2 (01:18:36):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (01:18:37):
Bud?

Speaker 45 (01:18:38):
Doing good this morning? We're heading out fishing for a
three quarter day.

Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
Nice.

Speaker 5 (01:18:43):
It's the bottom fishing, my man. I hear it's pretty good.

Speaker 45 (01:18:48):
It's been good.

Speaker 4 (01:18:48):
Uh.

Speaker 45 (01:18:49):
That's about the only thing you can do right now.
The pretty good yellow tail bite, some couple of muttons.
This week fishing has been super good. We had some
strong north tide, so it's been some really nice amber
jacks on the wreck, a couple of couberras caught this week,
and somebody to get a nice warsaw live in a nice,

(01:19:11):
nice wreck fishing bit this week.

Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
Very cool. So that weed is forced to basically the
Change your Game Playing video and it focused more on
bottle fishing because all the every capital of the show,
every single one, and so the weed has been insane.
Joe's thought. It was me at the beach, terrible caught
that crap, so weedy successive see change your game plane
and fish the bottom.

Speaker 4 (01:19:30):
I guess right, Yeah, I've.

Speaker 45 (01:19:32):
Been focusing on the bottom more because you're never going
to beat the seaweed, so might as well just do
something else so it's not the problem anymore. It seems
to be smarter than I guess that'd trying to beat
it because you never will.

Speaker 4 (01:19:45):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
So your clients who are like, hey man, I want
to go catch a mahee, I'll catch a wahou or
catch a tuna, you gotta pretty much set up straight, like,
hey guys, I love to hook you up with that
kind of fish, but it's just not happening with the seaweed.
Do you understand that and adapt.

Speaker 45 (01:20:00):
I mean, we'll do whatever you want us to do.
It's your trip. But you know, I would listen to
the pros to do it every day. I mean, to
try to tell him to see what's that. You know,
it might even be unfishable. It's probably the smarter thing
to do. So sometimes there's a little bit of tension there,
but once you start doing what you're once you start
catching some fish. I mean, it was really going to complain,

(01:20:21):
you know what I mean, after all that that they're
paying for and catch fish.

Speaker 2 (01:20:24):
I guess that's the thing. I mean, if the captain says,
I'm sorry, mister and missus fisherman, Uh, it's not a
wise I do to be trolling baits over the sargints
will be foul hooked all day long. Yep, let's go
bottom fish. If they're wise to listen to the captain,
he'll do what they wanted to do. Joe, Yeah, but
he's saying it's not going to happen, so take the
captain's device.

Speaker 21 (01:20:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:20:44):
That happened to us in the Bahamas years ago when
I went with my dad and the captain you know,
said it just was not that type of day to
go for Ahi and stuff like that.

Speaker 5 (01:20:54):
So we went bottom fishing.

Speaker 2 (01:20:55):
It was great, you know for cool so bottlefish wise,
what species are at you, man? What do a variety?
I think I think you mentioned muttons before. What else
was buy down there?

Speaker 44 (01:21:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:21:05):
Some muttons.

Speaker 45 (01:21:06):
There's been some yellow tails, some nice yellow eyes starting
to show up. I got him good last year.

Speaker 4 (01:21:12):
This time of year.

Speaker 45 (01:21:12):
I don't know if they're like spawning or what. But
some of the rock piles in like three hundred you
can get you know, four or five nights, like five
pounds or so. It's pretty good for this area.

Speaker 4 (01:21:24):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
I had a captain once and we were having kind
of a really kind of a lousy day, and his
coach to Joe, Yeah, Vittie was to take us over
some little area and dropped out for black belly rosies,
which I don't want. And we bring up a string
of like twenty Like he's like pounding his chest like,
look what I just did for you guys?

Speaker 4 (01:21:42):
What do you do?

Speaker 16 (01:21:44):
Man?

Speaker 2 (01:21:44):
It's like bringing up a string of freaking pilters or something.
Who cares he serves a day man. You know, God,
they're they're.

Speaker 45 (01:21:55):
Good to eat, they're just pain to clean and it
probably takes longer to drop it to the bottom and
it doesn't get to bite. For those I would say
there's fight. It's probably more sand on the There's probably
more of those in the ocean, and there is sand
on the beach right right.

Speaker 2 (01:22:10):
I mean you bring up a string of like twenty
on these chicken rigs. Man, But whatever, he thought he
was the captain, and he was like just saving or
ass to save the day. I tried, but I don't
want black belly rosies. I mean, yeah, whatever else. So anyway,
so we're hit you out of the water, right out?
Cap you hitting out?

Speaker 45 (01:22:26):
Yeah, We've got a three quarter a day this morning,
so I'm gonna probably troll around a little bit. Hopefully
the weed's not too bad. It probably is, but you know,
we'll we'll fight it for an hour and a half,
two hours, and we'll probably do some recition, try to
get one of those cobras that's been biting this week.

Speaker 21 (01:22:43):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
I give him credit because a lot of our captains
don't have enough bookings. I mean they might get out
one or two days a week, right, Vinnie, how often
are you booked? Man? You're like you booked solid every
day of the week or what.

Speaker 4 (01:22:55):
Did you like?

Speaker 45 (01:22:56):
Five trips?

Speaker 4 (01:22:56):
Six trips a week.

Speaker 45 (01:22:57):
When it's really busy, it'll double up a days, but
for the most part, steady at least five trips a week.

Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
You know when when nord Beckoff left the show to
do other things in his life, he highly recommended you
on the show. He said, look, get this guy Vinie
Sacks in the show Joe and Eric, because he's got
serious creds. So Viny, I mean, obviously it's not just
you know, us blowing smoke up your pie hole here.
You've got great cred, a great following. So props to
you man for you know, being respected by your captains

(01:23:25):
and by your clients. And that's a great thing man.

Speaker 4 (01:23:27):
Really, yes, you know, I appreciate it.

Speaker 45 (01:23:30):
You guys put in a lot of years to get
this to where it's at, so at least paying off somehow.

Speaker 21 (01:23:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:23:36):
Well, let's put out the info man to contact you
and fish on the YB Normal. How do we do it?

Speaker 45 (01:23:41):
Yeah, you can give us a call at nine five.
You can look us up on social media at YB
Normal Sport fishing.

Speaker 2 (01:23:51):
One last thing before he goes, I remember I've ever
heard Vinnie ever laugh on this show. It took me
three years to get Corey to follow you laugh, Vinnie,
do you ever laugh at all minute? Just a not
laughing guy.

Speaker 6 (01:24:02):
No, we laugh.

Speaker 45 (01:24:03):
You just gotta say something funny and he'll laugh.

Speaker 5 (01:24:06):
You're not funny.

Speaker 2 (01:24:06):
Say something funny, Eric and he might laugh. That's a
great tip.

Speaker 5 (01:24:12):
He laughed there.

Speaker 2 (01:24:14):
Say something funny, he might laugh. It makes sense. All right, Hey, Benny,
terrible man, every great day, Buddy Man.

Speaker 45 (01:24:21):
All right, man, take care of you guys.

Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
Let's check out our good friend Johnny stop Bill shall
he sure hard? Johnny's always after Johnny. This guy, he's
a young guy though, so dark much every weekend on
the shoil or something from this guy. Yeah, he's smart
and Johnny. Hey, you doing, Buddy. I'm doing just great, guys.

Speaker 46 (01:24:41):
I'm off the water this morning, which is good. I've
been actually busy this week and uh, Fisherman was plentiful
and good. And now I'm gonna enjoy a nice boat day,
just hang out and just relax, you know, just get
my day off this week. So I'm very excited for that.

(01:25:01):
And I'm happy to talk to you guys this morning
and tell you about fishing. You know, it's just been
a pretty normal week in the sense that we've caught,
you know, a lot of peacocks, a lot of large
mouthed bass, a lot of the hybrid bass, you know,
like the sunshine bass, and we've also caught quite a

(01:25:23):
few clown knife fish, and I even got a couple
of snakeheads in.

Speaker 5 (01:25:28):
So it was just a very well rounded, very good
an any tarpin fishing.

Speaker 46 (01:25:36):
I didn't do any tarpin fishing this week, but I
was surely thinking about it almost every day about how
I want to get down there. And actually a buddy
of mine went down and fished and they got a
couple of tarpain just right in Miami there. So you know,
apparently there's still some shrimp moving through at night in

(01:25:57):
Miami as well, which is the craziest thing ever for
this time of the year. Normally those shrimp are are
you know, they're pushing through at this time of the year.
It's normally a winter thing and a spring thing. So
to have schools of you know or sorry nuts schools,
but to have shrimp pushing this time of the year

(01:26:17):
is just pretty epic and crazy in itself. And there's
a few harping around because of that, there's not many,
not like it is in the winter time.

Speaker 31 (01:26:24):
But you know it's I guess it's uh.

Speaker 46 (01:26:27):
At least gives you a shot that you normally wouldn't have.

Speaker 6 (01:26:30):
So there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:26:32):
Right, Well, Johnny, we have a rand new word about
Joe brought up early in the show about how snakeheads
are adapting and getting more used to these waterways and
getting bigger, bigger. He said, these fish are now marinating.
They've marinated within Florida, wa sneak is are marinating. I
have no idea that word ties in to a snakehead, Johnny,

(01:26:53):
does a fish marinate out there? Buddy? I don't think Eric.

Speaker 46 (01:26:57):
You know, I've never heard that were used before like that,
but but but I have seen and I'm sure Corey
told you guys he caught and I follow Corey on Instagram.
That's how I know about this. But Corey caught like

(01:27:18):
a fifteen and a half pound or beggars, okay, so
his world record was fifteen and a half and he
caught a sixteen pounder, So I mean that that's that's
a big fish. And and I commented, you know, I
commented on his Instagram and I was like the real

(01:27:40):
world record because he beat his other record, not fishing
in a pond with a bunch of you know, hand
fed fish and the other guy. You know, it's where
we get the drama in the fishing world, and I
hate drama. And I almost deleted my comment, but you
know what Corey dees there the praise of catching a

(01:28:02):
big fish, and somebody else commented that I was just jealous,
and I'm like.

Speaker 5 (01:28:08):
I'm not jealous.

Speaker 46 (01:28:09):
I'm super happy for Corey. Like Corey is an innovator
in the snakehead game. It's it's you know, it's it's
it's serious. You know, he runs a business based off
of it. So yeah, you know a little bit of
hate on that comment, but you know what, I don't
really care anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:28:29):
That's someone negative job of social media is when you
put a comment like Johnny did that. There's so many
guys for just no reason want to be a hater. Well,
I just want to come and bash you for no reason.

Speaker 5 (01:28:38):
Yeah, but that's you know that comes.

Speaker 2 (01:28:40):
I mean, they know they know Johnny's cred. They have
no right to talk to the man that way. Okay,
because this dude knows what the hell he's doing Yeah,
but they don't care if he makes a comment, listen
carefully what he says. They don't care. That's problem.

Speaker 3 (01:28:53):
But I did find interesting today talking to Corey though, Johnny,
is that he did say something where it made me think.
He said that sixteen pounder that he caught was fat
and girthy, almost like yeah, he thought that that one

(01:29:14):
was even hand fed. And that's when we got into
the conversation. And maybe you want to chime in on this.
What if these snakehead who are not from here are
adapting and changing in a way where they're getting.

Speaker 2 (01:29:27):
More your word, Joe, where they're marinating, where.

Speaker 3 (01:29:29):
They've marinated the waterways of South Florida, and now they're
getting fatter because they don't have the competition they have
in South America.

Speaker 5 (01:29:37):
That could be a thing, even though some of them
are being fed.

Speaker 46 (01:29:40):
I agree, Well, so snakeheads are from China, unlike the
peacocks and a lot of the other eggs outics that
are from South America. So you have the northern snakeheads
that we get in northern US, you know, like Chesteake
Bay area in north and those come from northern China
where there's climate is similar and Southern snakeheads come from

(01:30:04):
southern China and they're basically a Chinese fish.

Speaker 7 (01:30:09):
And you guys know why the reason is.

Speaker 46 (01:30:11):
I won't bore you with the reason why the snakeheads
are here, but it is definitely possible that they are
at a point in the year that they are bulking
up as much as possible in getting ready for maybe
winter time.

Speaker 2 (01:30:29):
I don't know why.

Speaker 46 (01:30:31):
I've seen a lot of really big snakeheads. Car. I
actually caught a pretty good one this week. It was
not near as big as quarries or as that other kids,
that one that you know that has the state record,
but I will say I did catch it on something
that I was not I've never caught a snakehead on
this presentation before this type of lure. And no, I

(01:30:55):
did not strap an M eight firework.

Speaker 2 (01:31:00):
I saw that. Yeah, lower it's in order for this
to happen, yeah this week.

Speaker 4 (01:31:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 46 (01:31:08):
But on the flip side, you know, maybe maybe we're
just catching bigger snakeheads that we normally wouldn't be catching.
Maybe it's just this time of year. You know, you
get a month or two and in the year where
you get an opportunity at some big snakeheads, and I
can promise you starting next year in June, I will
be targeting giant snakeheads. I'm going to be using the

(01:31:32):
biggest buzz baits, the loudest, slappiest frogs. I mean, I'm
just gonna be I'm literally going to dedicate my whole
entire life to catching a snakehead over fifteen pounds.

Speaker 2 (01:31:45):
We know, Joe I or something either from China. Yeah,
that's it's only one of the few fish they give
you a happy ending. Yeah China, you get the fish.
It gives your hand all the time. Yeah, happy Yeah,
I got it, you got it. Okay, cool, Johnny, we're
gonna rock the clock. But I'm sorry man to cut
you off here. We got a haul, assid and take

(01:32:07):
a break here, but have a great weekend.

Speaker 4 (01:32:09):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:32:09):
You always bring a straw. Thanks so much, Thanks Johnny,
don't worries, guys.

Speaker 4 (01:32:13):
Have a go on.

Speaker 2 (01:32:14):
All right, I'll talk a little break. I'll put on
the weather hat coming up next, doctors, skip braid Dan,

Speaker 2 (01:36:41):
High heat index in effect, Joe, stay hydrated and limit
direct sun exposure during Pete gowery Jo. Marine conditions caesar
calm with light winds, generally safe for boating, kayaking or fishing.
Small crackt advisories are not up this weekend beforecast body
wise today, winds east five to ten not he's about

(01:37:01):
two feet. We have wes breaking two to four way
out the gold stream and again not a bad day.
Sunday coming up wins five to ten knots sees less
than two feet. That's my super smooth out there, buddy. No,
And again it's a two to four foot wave break
way off shore that's forecast. But the bottom line is
it's gonna stay hot, be hot, is hot, and when's

(01:37:24):
it gonna leave? I don't know, man, This is it, man,
A whole life, my entire life. And I can't stand
July August. Really, what's Jersey like in August? Is it hot?

Speaker 5 (01:37:34):
Just not as like humid is here?

Speaker 2 (01:37:36):
You don't have humid hot there.

Speaker 5 (01:37:37):
But it gets hot, man.

Speaker 2 (01:37:38):
Yeah, yeah, I wonder how hot it Isn't the keys
right now?

Speaker 5 (01:37:42):
We have green heads, you know what I mean? So
you have to talk to August to talk togs and pollywogs.

Dead people floating down rivers down to the keys of
Skip rad And and by the way, Skip, I received
your packet yesterday, which I'm not open yet. Skip said,
He's send me a whole bunch of nostalgic stuff.

Speaker 5 (01:38:01):
What the heck you gotta package?

Speaker 2 (01:38:03):
Oh that's not it's like photos and memories back in
the day with the late great Jim Mannachhue kicked off
the show with us like, oh I got So it's
a reflective things, and he kind of put that package.
Skip all open it. Later on they but text that
mailer king buddy, and good.

Speaker 4 (01:38:17):
Morning to you, Hey, Skip Yah, good morning guys.

Speaker 40 (01:38:20):
You gotta love that package.

Speaker 4 (01:38:21):
You know.

Speaker 40 (01:38:21):
I've been kind of laid up here with his bub shoulder,
and I still am. By the way, it's five weeks now,
but I just shiit Aroundison. I got all this trade,
a load of stuff. In the years past, I stopped
putting a bunch of stuff together. So you have to
enjoy that, because next week we talked about some of it.
I'm sure I listened to what Bettings did about the
Florida Keys station. I guess he was an Alamago. I
don't know, but somewhere, but it's exactly what it is.

(01:38:43):
There's so much, no one bug out so weed. But
you know, we all kind of kind of used to it.
Then it's not unusual for the last few years, a
bunch of years now, I've been kind of retired summer
I retired like three four years. And before that even
it was just the way it was the way it is.
You got a run and gun. We got this Islamora fly.
You're right, Oh, it is a little world, little they think,

(01:39:04):
and then you catch the I that's that's what your
When the baby things got here, I'm out of fly.
A lot of guys use them, but you can't go
that day. You got a run and gun because you
don't have a bay. Even now, I'm a out of fly,
gets caught up with seaweed. So that's pretty much. But
then he says, is right, and you got to get
off sure further here than you do up there, you know,

(01:39:25):
and down here if in two thousand foot of water,
you're like thirty twenty eight thirty miles out. So it's
a different ride down there than up there, there's no
doubt about it.

Speaker 2 (01:39:34):
We got serious captains. By the way, Jimbo Thomas is
in the Key West right now as we speak. Yeah,
so all of our guys are head now with the
keys to play. I guess it's time of your skip.
All the tourists have hauled buggy. It's pretty quiet down
that way right now.

Speaker 40 (01:39:47):
Yeah, I believe it. That No, no, no, we still
got a business. I mean I'm down the docks every day.
I go by and just stop and talk to people,
and know, I go go to different places. Now, it's
still somewhat Okay, it's not it's not great. I think
we had the guys will tell you must the guys
say they had a very very busy spring and summer,
but usually have to a fourth of July. It it
slows down a little bit. It's hot, but it's right

(01:40:08):
everywhere in America. It's not in Jersey too.

Speaker 6 (01:40:09):
Bitter way.

Speaker 40 (01:40:12):
You're not getting away with that. That sort of hot
stuff that is and I love it with my clients.
Share from Las Vegas. Had we talked about this weather,
they said, yeah, well take it to one hundred and
twelven Vegas. Bland's it's it's it's a it's a different hot.
It's a dry heat. But then he's talking about that
the dry heap. But anyway, it is what it is

(01:40:32):
down here. And the fish and bread at the small
like then he says, small fish. Here's a little tip
the fishing on the rod. I'm probably a saber up there.
But if you see us two sets of birds through
your binocular you see a set of birds going towards Miami,
and those birds are good. The paddling with the small fish,
the ones that you have to throw a lot of
them back. They to keep whatever wins. But the other
one that he said, a couple of two three birds

(01:40:52):
fortunately going to it. He was down here pound in
the water. Those are the birds. You have to take
a choice. Take those birds, those those fish that have
paddling into the aren't and those are the fish are
usually the bigger fish that could be eight, ten or
forty pounds. So just keep that in mind when you're
coming out here. Just look at the birds. You get
two system birds. Take the birds said towards Key West.
That's all I got to say about that.

Speaker 2 (01:41:11):
That's a great point, Manah, that's a great point. They're
heading north. You're gonna look up.

Speaker 40 (01:41:15):
Yeah, they're thet They're riding the current.

Speaker 6 (01:41:18):
That's all.

Speaker 40 (01:41:18):
And not always sometimes you can be wrong. But most
of the time over the years I found that the
birds going towards the Key West that caught you know
that those the fish in the better size.

Speaker 2 (01:41:26):
Skip Out of all your decades of fishing, my friend't
ask Joe, maybe both, I want to figure this thing out.
What is your favorite fish to target in all these
decades you fish, What fish do you like fishing for
the most?

Speaker 40 (01:41:40):
Well? I like it back then when to my hero
all fifteen or forty pounds when we had the slam
is coming through our Marada. And those are the fishing
that again, that's the bird, the amount of one birds
who are crashing out of water eating the flyers we have.
Nobody left the doctor out a dozen flyers in the box.
You know, frow you buying fresh or you're buying fresh
frowers and you throw them out and you fire those out.
The man a boy bird. So so my favorite fish

(01:42:02):
that has left us that the mahi fishing up the
nice side, not down. It's the fish we have now
barey keepers most of them, unfortunately, and so much weed.
We didn't have weed like this in the old days.
I don't know what happened, but it's here now. But
my favorite fish still at this day, will always be
he because it is the most popular fish for clientele.
They love catching them, they watching them jump, and they

(01:42:23):
love me and I love cleaning them for the house.
So that's my favorite fish to.

Speaker 2 (01:42:25):
My he well a few captains that he loves clean
cleaning fish. A lot of calfs say they don't want
to bother that. They pass it off with the meat
or they just tell the client you're going to clean
your fish. There's a fifteen dollars twenty dollars fee right
to do that. Skiff just goes and grabs the sharpest
knife in the drawer and just flays them up like
a sous chef.

Speaker 5 (01:42:44):
I love it. I mean, I think it's part of it, right,
Like that's part of the art of fishing.

Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
I feel like I don't think it's part of the
fee you pay a guy or that.

Speaker 40 (01:42:53):
Yeah, just saying, well, it's part at the end of
the day. You know, when I was tapted, now or not,
I'm in the cockpit of Papa. Wow, what George's up there?
But when I was captain, I spend my time up
there and then the towerne I couldn't have, you know,
wrapping my clients all gear as much I liked to.
I love that them on the bridges. I love talking
to people. But anyway, I want to get to the
docks most of the I'm thinking in whale harbor right now.

(01:43:13):
Whale harbor. I think every captain cleans the fish behind
the boat so they can talk to the client and
talk to new clients on their business cards. So's the
whole bunch to when you clean the fish. I love
cleaning fish, and that that kid cleans about. And when
we get done cleaning the fish, we jump on about.
The captains do and help the decides do that. It's
a team effort. But I really I'm thinking it will
harbor every captain. It will harbor over the years. Now,

(01:43:35):
I've been there for the here of the fifty somewhere
fifty five years, and every all the captains clean the fish.
That's just the way it is.

Speaker 2 (01:43:42):
I was like that when I clean fish, and my
sons would catch fish, especially mahi. I don't might open
a belly up and just see what the hell the
reading I mean, right, yeah, you put it on the show.

Speaker 40 (01:43:50):
There's no doubt you're soaping up the button where they
might beat. You know, one time we we used to
kill the sharks all the time in the old day.
I'm not proud of. They cut the shark up and
as a bud lite is a kid and one over pipe.

Speaker 2 (01:44:03):
Right, yeah, license plates they found whatever?

Speaker 19 (01:44:05):
Man?

Speaker 40 (01:44:06):
Yeah crazy, No no more, no more killing sharks. They
don't catch it. I can't believe all the sharks that
you know what it is?

Speaker 2 (01:44:13):
The short back for the vegets man saw how long
the everywhere skip I've heard bad things every.

Speaker 40 (01:44:20):
Day no matter where you go, whether it's Key Western,
it's at Palm Beach, anywhere in between. The end of
the black ben tun. And I give you one more
tip here, and I've probably run out of time, but
we catching the black tuon and catch the well for
uh you know, two three four five hundred pilches or
cigar menos. We run on down the west for the
four or nine the off saw up a bud. Mary's there,
four or nine, and you can hook a black then

(01:44:42):
tune of fifteen twenty thirty pounds, and you cannot catch them.
The sharks, you cannot think. But here's the tip. Now
here's the tip. When you hook the fit your back,
the jointing up, salad on your back, the drag off
and let the current swift you away from the four
or nine At the west humpoy you have humps up,
you guys notice, and you let the fish run the emptiest.

Speaker 6 (01:45:03):
Spoil of calf all the way up.

Speaker 40 (01:45:04):
And now you have had, you know, two three four
hundred guds away from me. Really hooked him for whatever reason,
allowed shots to go back to the other spot. You
tied to drag to catch the fish. So that's just
a little rest.

Speaker 6 (01:45:14):
They're doing that.

Speaker 2 (01:45:15):
It is now, so tell me a guy with decades.

Speaker 5 (01:45:18):
Yeah, that's a great hip.

Speaker 2 (01:45:20):
We're gonna rock this clock man. Thanks for that packing up.
Hoping that packing up today, I'll be calling you.

in there. Okay, thanks guy, take.

Take word Go cycle G three.

Speaker 20 (01:50:01):
How did this electric bike fit into a treasure chest?
Because it folds down to be able to fit. The
pieces are removable to make the got Cycle G three
perfect to throw into any car on the go and
never have to worry about using a bike rack again.
The electric Gocycle G three is the perfect toy for
someone who wants to get outside for a nice bike
ride without bringing us sweat. You can hit up to
twenty miles per hour on this and bit comfortably up

(01:50:22):
to forty miles per charge. If you're the kind of
person who wants to be doing long distance bike rides
past this distance and fear, oh no, the battery's gonna
die on me, don't worry. The bike can also be
used as a regular bike to keep you going. When
you get home, throw the bike on the charger and
three and a half hours later, go again, Go bike
another forty miles, Come on, just come home, charge, repeat

(01:50:42):
as much as your little teeny heart can desire. Why
not use those three and a half hours of charging
time for the got cycle G three to try qualifying
for a marathon by running it in under three and.

Speaker 23 (01:50:50):
A half hours.

Speaker 20 (01:50:51):
Come home and immediately hop back on that ghost cycle.

Speaker 5 (01:50:54):
Do it for the plot?

Speaker 20 (01:50:55):
Which speed are you maintaining on your bike ride. The
ghost Cycle G three comes with a three speed turnly
geared hub with electric shifting. The bike automatically shifts between
three speed gear settings to get the best pedal assists
you need based off of your pedaling speed. You can
check out the three speed settings off the handlebar in
the middle facing vertically. The battery lights shown based off

(01:51:15):
the red dots facing horizontally, and the blue lights show
if the lights are on for your safety, the headlights.
Probably the biggest fear of owing an electric ghost Cycle
bike is worrying about the pest stealing them.

Speaker 5 (01:51:26):
Have no fear.

This bike comes with a built in patented pit stop
lock system to frustrate the heck out of the thieves.
