Speaker 2 (02:17):
I'm sharing it. By the way, We've got a great.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Great group of captains online up you go, speaking of which,
the first guy to shoot is always Jimbo, the man
Thomas Jimbo. You can bring him on in a happy
Joe style or just bring him in straight on. Man.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Let's uh, let's just do it in like your style.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Well, I just got the little butterfly. My you're saying
that Jimbo's not on yet, so I may not to
hold it off to the intro. Okay, but I did
some research last night, and I've heard mahi's the word
matter fact. Tomorrow at this time, yes, I'll be heading
off to Keystone Point, Marina point point. You always picking
on my words already many, Hey, I'm.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Heading to Keystone Point, Marie.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Whatever, man, it's Keystone Point, Okay, it's early as hell,
Joe to put words together. You know what I'm saying
to fish with my sons, right, Captain de panoses both
to double d okay, all right, and we're going for
some mahi mahi.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Okay, all right. So you know, so the mahi's been
uh been biting. Huh.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Well, I didn't see many in our tournament. If they
haven't been that, I'm dropping thirteen hundred bucks for nothing. Yeah,
you know what's say you might be Why don't you
go for Wahoo? It's Jim already together, Jeff. We all
said to going straight to voicemail. That's a very bad
start to the show. It's uh not good, weird, Okay,
So anyway, let's fill in some blakes here. Last weekend
(03:37):
you were doing a shoot off on the beach, right, yes,
I was going crazy, crazy Kamakazi style. Yeah, and talk
about the whole to do man, good turnout, good good weather.
What the hell happened to you?
Speaker 7 (03:49):
So I gotta say number one that this tournament fifteen
plus years in was definitely one of the best tournaments
I think we've ever had.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
And I say that not because of.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
The way and even though the way and was amazing.
Speaker 7 (04:09):
We had awesome fish across the board, but not because
of the event side of it, because that pretty much
got rained out because you know, it was the one
day in like eighteen months that it rained and thunderstorms
and lightning in the morning. But the reason being is
we had people literally from around the world that came
(04:31):
to this tournament and fished and caught fish, and that
stage was dominated and the locals, you know, I don't
know what's going on there, but that stage was dominated
by people not from Florida. The winner, Brandon, who will
talk to shortly, he's from North Carolina. This guy got
(04:55):
two kingfish okay, a wahoo and a jumbo like a
monster black fintuna okay in a kayak.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Think about that from North Carolina.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
I saw the video and this poor guy just handled
it so well. He's literally four inches off the water.
There was some way a wave actually, man, it was
like a chopping and chunky out there. It was like
three to five and he brings up a gaff and
got him on one swing with great And I had
some really cool words to say during the video. Yeah,
go bro, Oh my god, I had to edit out
a few bombs. Then again, I would see you know.
Speaker 7 (05:30):
What I mean, man, you see those stripes, yeah, you know,
I think that was when he said it right, when
he saw the wahoo.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
Yeah, I saw the waho. I'd be seeing like dollar signs. Yeah,
that's a winding fish. Oh yeah, you know what I mean. Yeah.
And then the tech, the guy from Texas with his
monster wahoo. Man, I feel bad for the one group
that came all over here from o Wahu, Hawaii. Our
guys that came over like a group like tan of
what they were. Yeah, and they got skunk old. Yeah
(05:57):
too bad. But you know what's fishing, man, that's fishing,
you know exactly.
Speaker 7 (06:02):
I mean, look, we had another group, a big group
that came from California and they did great. You know,
we had the group from Texas. They stole the show.
I mean they were the first ones. When I did
that shoot off that, by the way, that was one
of the most challenging shootoffs. Usually that's like my calm moment,
that's like, oh, look at the sun rising, everyone's excited.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
This shootoff was the opposite.
Speaker 7 (06:25):
We had lightning, thunder rain, trential. I couldn't even do
like a post because you know, everything was wet, so
like I'm trying to like post stuff and my fingers
are wet.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
It was chaos, man.
Speaker 7 (06:42):
Plus, I gave these guys, which I'm happy I did,
but as a little gift and a thank you for
all these years of these tournaments and them helping make
this happen. I gave the guys a little gift by
letting them shoot off at six forty five instead of seven.
So I gave him a little extra time to get
out out there to get that that wahoo bite. And
it worked. Uh and they and so we're scrambling, we're
(07:06):
you know, there's guys getting bait in the water. There's
when there's guys flipping in the surf. We had a
bunch of guys helping out, like your man Boomer with
swovel pod three sixty helping people.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
Out swolveo ass pot three sixty there. Yeah, but you're
talking about the shoot off early. That's kind of a
personal thing to me. I've had it happen to me
for practically all my life. I shoot off early. Yeah. Anyway,
so that was pretty lame joke. Did you get that?
Just went over your head there, Joey.
Speaker 7 (07:33):
So I'm gonna leave and uh, I'll catch you later.
Bye guys, Bye bye Joey. Anyway, So great tournament, great
party room party going on. Guys had their chicken wings
and beard it was there.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
This is great. Yeah. Uh my question is how did
the how the yoga chicks do? They did good?
Speaker 2 (07:52):
They did, They did really good.
Speaker 7 (07:53):
They got a video video honestly, like the the events
side of it, like the uh, the yogurt people were there.
We were able to do some of the event part
on the beach, but it was pretty much rained down.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
It was bad.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Well, let's props you get Joe fro another bank of tournament. Bro.
That was a great finale to your seasons and good,
I mean amazing turn I saw the photos and videos.
Just a fun looking group of folks. Unbelieve you guys
shouldn't win we're out there just hanging around the crowd
and just smiling him at the time, that one guy
from Kimber Boy was from Australia. Yeah, he was just
the happiest guy. I didn't want a damn thing, but
(08:29):
just walking happy, smiling, you know. I mean, it's okay,
I don't get you anything, but a kangaroo. It's that
was pretty good, okay, Garo Fish. Yeah, man, it was
out of her mind.
Speaker 7 (08:40):
And you know he was in Bomba and then I
sold the thing, you know, in the Kangaroo.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
We had a good.
Speaker 4 (08:49):
So you had to be a gig. Your Australian accent
just blew me away. Okay, thanks Joey, we have the
code to Bay shows his partner of anyway, great prophecy man,
so Frist gimple to grab his phone. We didn't chat
last night, so I assumed you'd be on the program.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Hey, we got to talk about the tournament.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
A little bit. Tournament stuff got done and uh yeah,
great day and fishing wise, hopefully we had some captains.

Number nineteen of my dad.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
Oh yeah, and it's been a beg in nineteen years.
We've been fucked nineteen years of talcket fishing and boating
underwater and oh guys, yeah, man, unbelievable. I got Jim
O Thomas. You on the boat. Hang on a second,
okayy bye? What's he said? Jim Bow you're on my speaker? Hey, buddy,
how you doing good?
Speaker 17 (12:57):
I don't know. My phone's acting up this and started
doing this yesterday.
Speaker 10 (13:01):
So did you see the text I sent you?
Speaker 4 (13:05):
I did, So you're on the radio live on my
phone next to my microphone. So we got you connected
real quick. Let's do a fast Jimbo, shall we Joe, Yes, Jimbo.
I know we got you kind of in a weird
way here, buddy, but give me the Jimbo Thomas fish
report that you got it from my sorry self this morning.
Oh yeah, well, very sorry. It's been pretty good.
Speaker 16 (13:25):
It's been good this week. It's probably been some of
the best dolphin.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
Fish in that we've experienced this summer. I oh, not.
Speaker 17 (13:34):
Big ones, but consistent deesents sized schoolies.
Speaker 16 (13:38):
Okay, everybody's been getting them pretty good, anywhere from about
i'd say, on average, twelve ten to twelve miles out,
but anywhere from eight miles and further, although you could
obviously find him in a lot closer. And they've been
desents schoolies, and there's been birds working on top of
almost all of them. So look through binoculars, try to
(14:01):
find those birds, get in front of them and you'll
catch yourself.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Some dolphin need some live bait.
Speaker 9 (14:08):
There has been.
Speaker 17 (14:09):
Small blue runners and others sorted small baits hanging out
under some of the larger patches of grass and anything
floating that you might encounter.
Speaker 18 (14:18):
So have a.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
Sabeki rod ready. You can drop that down for the
live bait.
Speaker 17 (14:22):
Otherwise they're eating cut bait, just the same cut bonita
or cut pally who whatever. You have to have artificial jigs, lures.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
It's all good, good stuff.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
Fishing with your good buddy Captain Deep Panos some double
d to borrow with my son Sean and Matthew. Uh,
you think I have a chance they want to go
to Mahi hunt Jim what my boys do? So chances
Mahi mahi the boat or what? Yeah.
Speaker 16 (14:45):
I keep in touch with Dean.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
We talked daily.
Speaker 16 (14:47):
He's been doing very good on him.
Speaker 17 (14:49):
He's got the triple engine outboard CEV so he can
get out there super fast.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
Versus us on our sport fish puss we.
Speaker 17 (14:56):
Get out there, it takes us about double the time.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
Yeah. But so he'll be the first one.
Speaker 17 (15:01):
Out there, and you'll first come, first serve. And that's
another thing. You gotta be the first one out there.
If you not, you know some other boats might beat
you to these fish. So good early start, it doesn't hurt.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
You want to do a quick jimbo intro outros he
leaves here or just let him go let me just go. Okay,
let him go, Jim, But thanks man, we have a
weird phone thing we got you on with the technology
being basically one on one phone to the microphone. You
sound great. Thanks again, buddy boy for calling me. I
appreciate it that big time. You got it, guys. Good
(15:37):
luck tomorrow, Thank you very much, Jim O. All right,
back to the on point program that we're doing here.
Let's talk to you our good friend Corey Nowakowski, shall
we Joey? Hooray peacock, best snake wrangling beast that he is. Right,
let's do it. Hey, Corey, what's up? Buddy?
Speaker 19 (15:54):
Thank too much? How you guys doing what kind of.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
A weird starting with Saturday? Joe? Well so bizarre? Yeah yeah,
but do you ever hear me talking fish and smack?
What's been happening in your planet?
Speaker 19 (16:07):
It's been snakeheads and large mouth bass in the in
the main thing lately. As far as it's actual where
I'm at today, I'm on in the Everglades today, so
that's actually not too bad out here. So the bass
fight's been Even though it's been ten degrees out out there,
it's still pretty good out there.
Speaker 20 (16:27):
If you here early.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
Enough, man, no way. So snake heads Joe watched Joe
watch your nail his four or five fishy like, yeah.
Speaker 7 (16:37):
Yeah, how's uh, how's the snakehead by Is there still
some monsters out there that you're getting and uh?
Speaker 2 (16:43):
And how's the peacock surprise?
Speaker 19 (16:47):
So, yeah, the snakehead's been. That's been, of course good,
especially if you got the rain around. That's how it was.
It hasn't been much this week, but uh, towards like
the beginning of this past week that we had some
rain like Sunday and stuff like that, I was pretty good.
Once that rain kind of moved in, I really got
(17:08):
the bite going. When it's hot, when that heat going,
it's it's it's up and down. You know, you gotta work,
you gotta slow it down, go deep. That's that's basically
with them. The peacocks have been. That's been up and
down as well. It's even even during the heat of
the day sometimes they even slow down as well. You know,
(17:30):
everything kind of takes effect right now with that heat.
It's and everything's got its own you know on point
where it's like, you know, it's a little too much
during the afternoon for them. But you got to slow
it down. That's that's the big thing.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
Yeah, I mean, I got the job. It's so hot
that my entire body is like drenched and I'm hydrating.
I'm hydering. I'm actually hydrating through my pickle. I mean
we're just I've trying to.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
Your pickle.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
You're right, okay, yeah, okay, okay, Yeah, I'm hiding through
every source I can on my body. Okay. Say you're
in a kind of foul mood.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
No, no, actually you're dirty.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
Minded mood, yeah, yellow, dirty something. Okay, I'm on no
steroids anyway, Cory, we're going to rock the clock. I
told you.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
He didn't answer.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
The peacocksbody, sorry, man.
Speaker 19 (18:26):
Yeah, no, the peaks. The peacocks have been it's been
good as well. It's not I haven't been targeting as much,
but it's been They've the bite. It's been good. I
haven't gotten really any big big fish lately for them,
but you know, they have been around though. I mean
I haven't gotten inside like the snakeheads or the large mountain.
So we've been getting them though.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
You can't go before the Corey Nowakowski famous, give them something.
You got it, We got it. Wow, Hey, Cory, trying
to cut you a little bit, short man, But have
a great day to glades to go to be safe
and catch up brother man.
Speaker 19 (19:02):
Thanks brother, all right, thanks guys, have a good weekend.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
All right. We have a special guest on line one.
No I hit that vid baby, all right, No, I
hit that vid baby one more time. Hit hit Do
you want the music? There's music to the whole thing
up man, bring it up here we go.
Speaker 21 (19:29):
Oh my god, okay, yeah, oh yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
Look at that back dead little piecer.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
Look at that bag.
Speaker 4 (20:02):
I mean love that bag, the whole vid, the whole
scene off shore. Yeah.
Speaker 22 (20:06):
Man.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
So our special guest who won your tournaments online one
from North Carolina, Joey. Bring him on, dude, Brandon, my man,
how's it going?
Speaker 20 (20:14):
Hey, good morning, Joe good.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
How are you guys doing more thing?
Speaker 4 (20:17):
Eric doing great? Brandon? With the photos and the VID pieces,
we put them all together for a nice little kind
of a reliving the moment kind of thing. But how
are you feeling it for the big win?
Speaker 3 (20:28):
I feel fantastic. It's it's amazing, you know. I set
out with the goal to try to come win this tournament,
at least one of the one of the Summer Slams
and made it happen. It feels awesome.
Speaker 7 (20:42):
You know, I was thinking, and I think I mentioned
this to you on the beach afterward. But when Brandon
came on for the Summer Slam one, he won the
trash Can Slam. So he went from winning like the
lowest of the fish and and went straight to the top.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
Just just unbelievable.
Speaker 7 (21:02):
I mean, when you went out there after that shootoff,
what were you expecting? Given you know, we were dealing
with the rain, the thunderstorms were all around us. But
I from what I hear, it was pretty evident fast
that the bite was looking pretty good out there.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
What did you experience?
Speaker 3 (21:21):
I you know, I was expecting a pretty decent bite.
I've never had a bad day fishing in poor conditions
like that. I was feeling good that morning. I've just
watching the waves, the chop and everything. I was pretty
comfortable with it. Mike Kayaks set up really well. I'm
confident in that weather. That being said, I don't make
(21:43):
a habit of going out in it often, but I
was feeling pretty good. At about seven fifty, the blackfin
hit and I got him in. That made that kind
of just set the pace for the rest of the day.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
I'll tell you what thing. I watched the video and
for him to be out there just he was kind
of casually dropping his bait down.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
Your eyes are you're choking?
Speaker 4 (22:08):
No, I had a little something in my throat. I'm
passing it.
Speaker 7 (22:11):
I'm just you know, I'm making sure my buddies are okay.
Would you give me the high Absolutely not, of course.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Okay. Anyway, he's out there just gliding around. They're all fishing.
The guys are fishing the same area. Why is it
you think that he got hit and nobody round him did.
It's weird, Brandon, I mean, luck of the draw, the
good Lord shut it down on you.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
I just hit, he got species slammed.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
Yeah, yeah, thank you.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
I found out where the fish weren't pre fishing, at
least all the fish that weren't barracudas, and I kind
of made a I made a game, uh game plan
that morning, decided I try something a little different, and uh,
I just I got lucky. I chose the right spot,
did the right thing, and super fortunate for it.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
Wow man again, tuna, wahoo, kingfish right.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Yeah, black and not just the black fin like a jumpo.
Speaker 4 (23:07):
Big blackfish is not a foot Actually football might have
been a football.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Did you whatd you get the blackfin on? Brandon?
Speaker 3 (23:15):
I caught him on the gout lie got him.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
All right?
Speaker 2 (23:18):
So you got everything on live bait.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Yeah, I was jigging, but uh it was a little
difficult with that with the weather, so I just stick
with the live bait.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
Listen. I'd say one thing, it's a great honor and
one thing about this whole tournament. All of our local
guys know these waters like the back of their hand. Okay, like, yeah,
I got I got this thing, man, right, I know
the waters, I know where to go. They got pre fishes.
All here is here. We have a guy from North
tind of Carolina. He did a couple of days of
pre fishing. But this is not only his backyard. Joe.
(23:51):
He drops down and he takes first place.
Speaker 7 (23:55):
Not just take, but not just takes first place. This
tournament was like a professional tournament. He went against like
the best from Hawaii, the best from California, the best
from all these other states.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
And he went out there and not just beat the
Florida guys.
Speaker 7 (24:13):
Brandon, you went out there and you beat the guys
wearing the jerseys man like you wow.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
Dude, that basically yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Yes, I mean it was great.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
You know, that's what I like to see.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
I think that's that's all of it though, right there
is like you've got like I remember first day I
went out pre fishing, there was a bunch of just
hammers out there. Those like there was dudes who knew
what they were doing, and like I knew competition was
gonna be stiff, and that was awesome. That just that
brought the energy, that just typed it up even more,
made me even more excited and want to get out there.
(24:48):
And you know, I appreciate all those guys coming out
and bringing that energy because he knows it might have
not been the same without them. You know, Team Texas
was awesome. Team Hawaii fantastic. California ever want all the
Florida guys, you know it was it was incredible.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
That's a true competitor right there.
Speaker 7 (25:06):
To say that the the competition actually made him better.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
You know, that shows you why he won. You know,
you gotta be confident.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
He's very gracious to give him the guy props up.
He may thank for you. The one like Brandon about
Joe and his tournaments. You'll see your winning paycheck in
about a year, so just it's not me. Six months
you'll see it, all right, Finally, Okay.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
That's not me.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
You're blaming me for you handle the paycheck mail.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Don't you know.
Speaker 4 (25:34):
Oh, you have a hard person for that.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
No, No, the sponsors handled.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
That, not me. Oh I see geez passing the buck.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
Well, don't listen to this guy. He doesn't know what
he's talking about.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
That's right, that's right, because I tell you what. Yeah,
that'll give me time. You go find my Hobie out
back so that I can throw my swivel pod three
sixty on it that I'm gonna go buy.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
Oh wow, Smer got to him for.
Speaker 4 (26:01):
Boomers pod three sixty. I'm off for that joke. Him
a chip or something.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Don't ask me as Brandon, I don't know anyway.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
Brad even a great joy in the show The clock
is rocket brother man having a program. We ran photos
of the entire time on the Facebook live stream showing
all your fish are caught again and the video was great.
So congratulations to you man.
Speaker 7 (26:26):
Yeah, Brandon, that was an awesome win against the best
of the best. Uh, like I said at the beginning
of the show, this was one of the top tournaments
we've ever had. Uh plus you know, with the weather
and what you guys battled. It was the best of
the best competing out there. And for you to rise
to the top was just awesome to see, given that
you've been working your butt off, uh, you know, trying
(26:47):
to get there.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
So and I got one last question for him, real quick, man.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
That was a really long goodbye to him, But go ahead.
I'm proud, Brandon.
Speaker 7 (26:57):
There's a thing to say about pre fishing, right, So,
a lot of guys I talked to, including myself, I'm
not really into the pre fishing. I think you know,
when you're dealing with pelagics and stuff that it changes
so fast. But you're saying that maybe the pre fishing
really helped you. Maybe like add to that, Like, what's
(27:17):
your opinion on that?
Speaker 3 (27:20):
Yeah, So I think going out pre fishing, I'm experimenting
the entire time with a different sized line rigs. I'm
looking to see what the grass is doing, where the
grass is at, how I'm going to navigate that. You know,
that morning, most of the grass from where I was fishing,
where I was fishing from the day prior had blown
into shore, so I knew I could get out to
(27:42):
kind of where I wanted to be generally and not
have to deal with as much grass, And it just
kind of helped me come up with a game plan
the morning the morning of, so I wasn't trying to
figure everything out while I was out there.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
Right, Good stuff, good stuff. Brandon's an a joy man.
Thank you Joe for making me late. Age on the
break here man you buddy.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Yeah, Brandon, having your weekend, buddy, Thanks Brandon, talk.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
To you soon.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
Thank you, guys, take care, talk to you.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
Great guests, great job, great turnout, great tournament, great win,
great money, great sponsors, great everything. Yeah. Man, all right,
take a little breaking back with White Cot of the
reward fishing fleet. See what he's doing these days? Shall
we star by bucket is scour? We have a pretty
cool trivia question, by the way. That is so so
I'm gonna give you a number right now, the Starbary
buckets coming up at six forty five. Okay. I wanted
(28:26):
to just kind of pre fish these folks, as you said,
pre fish for the tournament. What kind of pre teasing? Now,
shall we? What's that laugh you gave me. Oh that
was good dipstick neverna call us one eight six six.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Eight zero one zero nine four zero eight six six
eight zero one zero nine zero.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
Four nine zero. Now we won't get one it because
you screwed up the last one.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
I really messed that up. I didn't mean to do
that with.
Speaker 4 (28:53):
You, man. Sorry, So the question coming up to one
of that great bucket of good stuff will do that
and coming back with a whole lot more crazy old
show at Fox Sports Night forty, I'm back.
Speaker 23 (29:05):

show so far. Yeah. Wow.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Even Jimbo called back.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
Jim on the phone on my microphone, which is gonna
need That was cool. The man who's done it all
for so many decades and still has stories to tell. Joe, Yeah, many,
many many. It didn't shill for books like Boucher does
with the Butcher split chronicles one through ninety five. He's
just a very helpful say one through ninety five, very helpful. Wait,
god on the reward fishing fleet.
Speaker 9 (34:11):
Wait good, hey, good morning guys.
Speaker 30 (34:14):
You know why way everybody's everybody's been bugging me a
Joe man, everybody's been bugging me.
Speaker 9 (34:19):
Man, when you're gonna do volume one? So you know
my you know, my.
Speaker 30 (34:22):
Partner Danny Kipniss has already got got a few, a
few that he's he's started finished, hasn't refined yet. And
my gosh, between the handful of us that are still
left kicking, I can't imagine how many volumes we could
put out of stories that that people would really get
a kick out of.
Speaker 9 (34:40):
So yeah, maybe it's time. Maybe it's time.
Speaker 7 (34:42):
Yeah, you know what, Wayne, here's a little tip for you,
because I'm actually working on one myself. Yes, Chat GBT,
so you go on chat GBT, you talk to your
AI bot and they literally help you make it professional,
the grammar everything, it still make it.
Speaker 30 (35:00):
It's so cool, man, it's so cool. And my wife's
an English teacher and she says, I got to use
this stuff. So yeah, man's it's amazing you know so.
Speaker 4 (35:09):
Well, anyway, this week we'd have been bringing Anyboddy, you know, we.
Speaker 30 (35:14):
You know, I hate to be kind of same most well,
you know, a lobster season open up, so I'm surprised Jimbo.
I'm sure he should be in the hot tubb he
dives so much. And his brother, man, they really kick
but the kids anymore, and I get him a lot
of credit. Man, they go out and do like five
tanks each, come back and repeat like four days later.
But you know, anyway, anyway, apparently it's been a good season,
(35:35):
so flat com see's super hot. The best thing going
on for sure has been night fishing. We are Captain
David on our boat many nights, gets his limit and
he's done fishing at eleven. If the customers and and
it's kind of amazing how the locals are. If we
get our limit of a mangrove snappers per person on
(35:55):
the boat, we get the customers a choice. We don't
sit there and mow them. We can either move the boat,
you know, and try it for something else, or say, guys,
you're ready just to call it a night, and about
half the time to go yeah, let's just go home.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
Screw it.
Speaker 30 (36:08):
You know, so it's not just us doing it. Miami
has way better mangrove snap for fishing. You could go
out there at night and there's nobody out there on
a Saturday night. So it's kind of a good thing
for the fish because they spawn all up and down
the reef. Yeah, there are special places they do spawn
and aggregate in big numbers, and you do and you
(36:29):
can't find other spots. Many many years ago, when Alan
Sherman worked with me, he and I the stock and
Standard thing, there was like three spots everybody fish and
there were six boats and we would sit there and
talk to each other. That's how closely we'd be anchored
up in the summer. And Alan and I said, you
know what, we're the young bucks here. We're going to
bust out here and find some other fish. And it
(36:49):
wasn't easy, but we ultimately, over a reasonably short period
of time, we found four or five other spawning spots
that were all ours. So they're there for the people
that want to go out put some time in. You know,
everything out there is not free. You got to earn
it one way or the other. How bad can it
be learning something with something you love to do. If
(37:09):
you learn how to fish better all the time by
putting your time in Man's.
Speaker 9 (37:14):
That's where it's at. Read a book is great.
Speaker 30 (37:15):
However, nothing be the experience of doing it yourself. So
that's one of my big What's that.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
A lot of our captors if we could play for
the last couple of weekends or maybe even years, Joe's
you know, the sharks are becoming a major wicked problem.
Speaker 9 (37:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (37:28):
Do you get sharked a lot on the with the
text man on your reward monster voter? No?
Speaker 9 (37:34):
Absolutely.
Speaker 30 (37:35):
I would say this year, you know, I had an
incredible opening day in May. You know, I decided I
was going to you know, fish pretty hard, you know,
for the groupers it is opening day May season. We
caught nine fish that were fifteen to twenty five pounds groupers.
Speaker 9 (37:52):
We never had one get eaten. I was astounded.
Speaker 30 (37:54):
Wow, Man, I was a huge because I would say
probably that's probably singularly the best bottom fish catch off
Miami by a non commercial boat. But but whatever, I mean,
you know, it's kind of what we do a lot specialize.
If you see our pictures, we put more big fish
on the dock, big bottom fish than any boat in
South Florida, and I'll argue that with anybody, but anyway,
(38:15):
but anyway, Yeah, so the sharks have been a huge
problem and I don't know what happened.
Speaker 9 (38:21):
I don't know what happened.
Speaker 30 (38:22):
They didn't touch us, and they haven't been as bad
right this moment.
Speaker 9 (38:27):
But yes, agreed, agreed.
Speaker 30 (38:29):
And they especially nighttime lemon sharks especially, they are dialed
into where the mangrove snappers are. So if it comes
where you like to fish, like twelve pound for them,
and you know they're one to three pound fish. But
when you start getting eaten too much, and like Dave says,
it says, either I got to get guys to beef
up and fish heavier, yeah, or we got to move
(38:51):
because you know we nobody likes to just feed the sharks.
Speaker 9 (38:54):
That's stupidity, you know.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
I go so, yeah shark, Yeah, extremely, I go to
the Eric mode. Yeah, oh yeah, that thing is fun thing.
Speaker 30 (39:06):
Yeah though, yep, Yeah, it's it's so frustrating to come
up with a half a thirty pound black group. It's
got either one bite or thirty bites out of it.
You know, I don't know what the answer is other
than killing a whole lot more sharks.
Speaker 9 (39:21):
I don't know if there is an answer.
Speaker 4 (39:23):
Balance.
Speaker 30 (39:24):
You know, the balance that took millions of years to
form has taken you know what, a few decades to
screw up. And I guarantee you right now, if every
living thing on earth died except for fish, it wouldn't
take long. It probably take ten years for it to
get back balanced again, because nature finds a way of
balancing itself out.
Speaker 9 (39:43):
You know it's true. So yeah, all right, we are
the factor.
Speaker 30 (39:49):
Reward Fishing Fleet downtown Miami, three trips a day. Look fishing,
you look at deep sea fishing or excuse me, Reward
fishing fleet. On Facebook. You see we do a ton
of posts. Uh we did you know we've done probably no,
I don't know. Five thousand kids this summer, and I
and I don't care what anybody says. Nobody, nobody is
(40:10):
putting as many kids on the water as we do
and getting in their first experience.
Speaker 31 (40:17):
We've gotta rock, all right, man, you got it, all right, guys,
have a beautiful all right, Joe, you want to bring
in the dive, man, let's do it, man, Buddy bloop.
Speaker 4 (40:31):
It's kind of weird without the about the music, background.
You're doing an a cappellaper. Okay, you got a hail, Joe.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
Thanks, it's pretty good, right, Jim.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
Go ahead, I'm here. Good good, We're doing well. We're
absolutely doing well now, same same deal, all right, onesies.
A lot of one lobster in one little hole. That's
all we're getting. There's no clusters. We haven't seen a
(41:08):
cluster a lobster since last year. So you got to
work for him. Boys, you got to work for them,
and you got to know where to go. That being said,
the conditions have been pretty much ideal for diving. Eighty
five eighty six degree water temperature, gentle, gentle north current
maybe then it switches up to a gentle south current.
(41:31):
Visibility is probably the only thing I can complain about.
It's maybe only thirty feet, which is nothing great. But topside,
holy smokes, has it been flat. It's been awesome. You know,
just no issue whatsoever as far as you know, being
on the boat, getting on the boat, getting off the boat.
That being said, I was on a LADYG diver which
(41:53):
was out of the sands then in Pompado the Hillsborough Inlet,
and that was on third with the crew and Captain
John put us on the spot, which is all about
the drop. So we've been really working the second reef,
I'll say, and somewhere in that thirty forty foot range
(42:14):
has been pretty good. We were off of actually down
to Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale by the Sea, down that way.
It was pretty good again. One here, one there, And
you know, Eric, I thought of you. I thought of you.
Speaker 4 (42:26):
That's Eric.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
Do you know why I thought of you?
Speaker 4 (42:30):
Because you had guess that that that too.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
But but but the best part is, and this is
like it listen, you know, I shot a nice twenty five,
so it was I honestly.
Speaker 20 (42:48):
Thought of you.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
I'm diving with Jennifer and Anthony and it was one lobster,
so I go here, here, God, Jennifer grabbed that. She
goes over to get it on. Behold, here comes his
fat red Cooper looking at me like, hey, that's.
Speaker 4 (43:05):
My dinner, you know, a dog like ap he became.
Speaker 1 (43:09):
He became my dinner buddy.
Speaker 4 (43:12):
And it was a brain hold, freaking brain hole man.
I put him out of his misery.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
You know, instead of being you know, he's going to
grab a bite to eat and he gets a hook
in his lip and you pull his ass up and
come on now, you know I don't come on, okay,
come on, misery either.
Speaker 2 (43:40):
He saved that clippers, Yes, cook him up for dinner.
What do you mean by that, Joe, He's in a
better place, you know.
Speaker 4 (43:49):
But good news. Go ahead saying you never feel guilty
that you and your dive team are actually polluting the
waters wherever you s Oh my no, no, not at
all in the water, Joe to their wetsuits.
Speaker 1 (44:06):
That's good though that I'm ald changed the whole water man,
Okay to hold it. So so that was That was Thursday.
It was a great dive day. Good good crew on
the Lady Good diver, really nice. Uh and you know
they're part of Dixie Divers here in Deerfield Beach, so
(44:27):
that was fun. And then we got our limits, so
that was good. And then, uh, let's say, yesterday I
dove with my buddy Marshall who owns Miser Marina up
here off the Hillsbord River, and uh, he has a buddy,
Larry Geller, and we had some really it was great, right.
A shout out to Adam. Adam is a big time fisherman.
(44:49):
He actually listens to the show. I said, what the heck,
I can't believe it. He listens to the show.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
Can't you believe that? Can't believe we have hundreds of
thousands of fans. Why would be good points listening? Listen,
you slap Jim.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
Jim saves fishes lives and that's all.
Speaker 1 (45:18):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
There we go, there we go, that's all.
Speaker 1 (45:21):
It was kind of cool because Adam is a big
time fisherman and he knows all about you know, sharks
the first question, and he's just getting into he's been
a free driver into Bahamas and all, but he's now
just got certified with a tank and all. Young guy,
really really nice guy. The first question I asked, do
(45:41):
you know there's sharks in the ocean?
Speaker 32 (45:43):
Right?
Speaker 33 (45:43):
You know that?
Speaker 4 (45:45):
Jim? You've got pastor time? Okay, so you know your
last breath and your last show.
Speaker 1 (45:50):
By the way, by the way, we did limit out.
We did limit out again.
Speaker 4 (45:54):
Fine, just giving you the heads up.
Speaker 2 (45:57):
Don't you have a book that you want to do
to books?
Speaker 33 (46:00):
Books?
Speaker 1 (46:01):
Catching the Bug, Catching the Bug, and catching the spear it? So, yes,
two good books best sellers if you want to learn
how to spearfish and catch Okay, we're done.
Speaker 4 (46:19):
We're done. He's done.
Speaker 1 (46:19):
Okay, And I'm very proud to give you the Dive
Report every week.
Speaker 9 (46:25):
Buddy.
Speaker 4 (46:26):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (46:28):
I look forward to it.
Speaker 4 (46:30):
Great, go fill your take with some carbon monoxide. Have
a fine.
Speaker 2 (46:32):
Die duncan buddy.
Speaker 4 (46:34):
Okay, alright, that we gotta go here. Okay, we've got

Speaker 4 (52:38):
Benny?
Speaker 3 (52:38):
Did?
Speaker 4 (52:39):
We had brownies on the second? Yes?
Speaker 2 (52:42):
Wait wait you brought him brownies?
Speaker 4 (52:44):
You won't even eat him man. Yeah. Anyway, speaking of which,
I've got cookies and Krem brownies, crame Krem Creme cookies
and for our good friend Noah, okay, okay, sir, for you,
I got some totally which you would probably much on
little pick back freshly.
Speaker 2 (53:01):
That's one thing I will eat. Okay with that now, yes,
thank you.
Speaker 4 (53:05):
Let's bringing our man who was at a tournament last weekend.
He is a hardcore guy. Man. I'm surprised you didn't
want the darn things. I just know he he was shocked.
He's banging, man, Yeah, he was shocked too. He's banging, dude. Yeah, Captain,
you're gonna think.
Speaker 20 (53:19):
What's going on guys?
Speaker 4 (53:20):
Good morning the water again, buddy.
Speaker 20 (53:24):
I'm thinking what I am after last weekend. I'm out
here doing a boat tournament trying to get some redemption. Uh.
But yeah, that tournament was extreme, to say the least
last weekend.
Speaker 4 (53:37):
Joe, Yes, it was, man, sure, man, Yeah definitely. Well,
I know you tried hard shot and sometimes the fisher
there sometimes they're not. It's just the luck of the drawer,
right yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, No, I mean I was
in area.
Speaker 20 (53:53):
Go ahead, Joe.
Speaker 7 (53:54):
No, I was gonna say the guys from uh from
Texas really uh stole the show. And then you had
our winner from North Carolina and I think we had
two I think two locals made it on stage.
Speaker 20 (54:07):
Yeah, Paul Nixon, man, he had a nice bag that
would have normally won any tournament. He got second place. Yeah,
super nice guy stock for him. And then Brian Nelly
got that nice wahoo. So that was awesome, man. But
ye know it was. I had no problems out there.
It was a good time, but got a little rough.
I decided to come in, and then on my way
in started helping some other anglers out there having some trouble.
(54:29):
So I took the high road there and just figured
out'd help some people out, you know, get some good
car on my side.
Speaker 4 (54:36):
Well, let's put it out there right now. How is
your butt in your seat on your kayak? There, shot,
old buddy.
Speaker 20 (54:43):
I gotta tell you what, Eric, There's people flipping left
and right around me, and I was using my kayak
to go help them pick their stuff off and rescue them.
And one of the reasons I wasn't flipping is I
swiveled my ass on my sow your ass odd seat
like three four degrees.
Speaker 4 (55:00):
Oh yeah, just related. I'd love it. Fact he's calling
a Silvio as spot. All right, So you're a phenomenally
genius chair that Boomer made, and probably all these kay
of guys from out of town like looking at her
like a man, what did you get that seat?
Speaker 20 (55:13):
One of the things was like the ways you're trying
to flip the enroll you. So I was able to
turn it to the left a little bit and counterbalance
my weight and man, I was going right through all
that stuff no problem at all. So it was it
was a day saver for me, for sure.
Speaker 4 (55:26):
I poked Botty Boomer for know Boomer for thirty five years, right, right,
and I've been kind of picking on a chair and
kind of busting his balls about the whole thing, and
I mean, yeah, but actually it's a really ingenious device.
I see the closest videos. I never saw one of person,
by the way, but it really has its purpose. You
can actually swivel around as supposed to your seat being
locked in a normal hobie, right, you could spin around
and face your fish. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (55:46):
Man, and he's got his patent, got a patent.
Speaker 4 (55:49):
That's huge, that's great. Yeah.
Speaker 20 (55:52):
Yeah, it's it's an upgrade for sure.
Speaker 4 (55:54):
Yeah. All right, so now back to you on the
water show. What are you fishing for today? Man?
Speaker 20 (55:58):
Okay, so I'm fishing with a team Real Battery here,
the guys from RB Tackle. We're in a fish blue
Water tournament. Yeah, I know, Joe knows. I'm really good
because the Real Battery guys were fishing last weekend and
they actually stopped fishing themselves and started being a help
out too.
Speaker 2 (56:17):
So yeah, announced that. Yeah, they really helped us out.
Speaker 7 (56:22):
They rescued one of the guys from Hawaii who flipped
oh wow.
Speaker 2 (56:26):
Yeah, and they they.
Speaker 7 (56:27):
Got over there and George, our other boat was already
on top of two other people. So they came out.
They helped them out, and uh and yeah, we love
those guys.
Speaker 2 (56:36):
We appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (56:37):
That was good. Cool. Yeah, well, Sean, so is there
some money involved in this thing or is this a
free fund?
Speaker 16 (56:44):
Oh?
Speaker 20 (56:44):
Yeah, lots of money involved in this one. There's like
over one hundred thousand dollars combined between all the payouts.
I think it's ten thousand for first and a couple
of other jack Potts and Calcuttas. So we're looking to
have a good day here.
Speaker 4 (56:57):
I want to explain something to the audience. We all
love brand new folks. Jody know the terminology we use, right.
Speaker 2 (57:01):
I got one more question when you're done.
Speaker 4 (57:02):
Okay. So when you say we have calcuttas it was
part of the bet, explain what a calcutta really is.
Good question, thank you.
Speaker 20 (57:09):
So everybody puts in a certain dollar amount for the
biggest single kingfish or mahi or tuna, and the one
person that catches that biggest fish, when's the pop.
Speaker 4 (57:21):
So it's a side bet, side bet.
Speaker 2 (57:22):
With the anglers.
Speaker 4 (57:23):
Yeah, it's almost like these bets during football, right, Yeah?
How many yards to get tackled backwards? Whatever? Right? Stuff
like that. Yeah, by the way, how many times was
I dropped the football? Always take that that prop bet
you get hurt.
Speaker 20 (57:40):
I don't know if you're gonna have Paul on the
show or not, Joe, but Paul would have won the calcutta,
but he didn't enter it.
Speaker 4 (57:47):
So just.
Speaker 20 (57:50):
About that.
Speaker 4 (57:51):
That's man. Always utter him. It's worth the money, dude.
Speaker 7 (57:55):
It happens every time the guy that has the biggest
king ever enters the.
Speaker 4 (58:00):
Calcut Sometimes you see that tournaments. Every time pass the calcutt,
every time take it. Yep, every time. It's worth the cheese,
It really is.
Speaker 7 (58:09):
I got one more question for Sean, So Sean, you
might find this interesting. We talked to Brand in the
winter or earlier from North Carolina, and he said that
he attributes pre fishing as a big reason why he
did as well as he did.
Speaker 20 (58:28):
I agree, man, that's I mean, look at the Texas
guys and them the I mean, they pounded it all
week long, and there were small pockets of fish around
in certain areas, and those guys that found those fish
during the week, they knew where they were on tournament day,
and it should.
Speaker 7 (58:43):
What's interesting to me though, is like I've never been
a pre fishing type guy, and we've talked about that,
and there's quite a few of the locals that feel
the same. Because of the pelagic species, right, everything changes
more quick from one day.
Speaker 20 (58:57):
Pre Fishing for a day is different than pre fishing
for a week. You know, we don't normally get weather
to where you can fish every day for a week.
But when you get that much time in the water,
you can start to develop a pattern and see where
the fish are and see where they're moving. They're moving
that south, deep, shallow, YadA, YadA YadA. So I mean,
that's that was golden for those guys to go to
(59:17):
do that and have the weather to do it. Is
just unreal. I'm glad if we had a good time here, well.
Speaker 4 (59:22):
Let's just show take this heart of it. I hope
you get one all the big chee chee and cash in.
Maybe we got to rock the clock here, but anyway,
have a great week, good set. Thanks checking it all right?
Thank that one more time on his start bright bucket.

a really good sea? See the sea down the phonus
you see say see to Jeff and will you we'll
see a bucket of stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
Did you know my tournament was in the sea?
Speaker 4 (01:00:04):
Did you see that? Wow? Well you see yeah? And
then Mia was playing on the sea. Saw right next
to the sea. Do you see did you have a
bunch of bait called seahorses?
Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
You say, did?
Speaker 33 (01:00:16):

Speaker 4 (01:15:26):

Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
That's that's Vinnie.
Speaker 4 (01:15:37):
He's like about these two idiots have me on the phone.

Speaker 2 (01:15:43):
Yeah, he loves it.
Speaker 4 (01:15:45):
I know he does, Vinnie Man so much. We we
caught this week. I saw some of your Facebook posts.
Look bang a great dude. This week.
Speaker 40 (01:15:53):
It was okay, good himount of salefish around right now.
The reef's been hitting miss Switch, the trolling in the mornings.
I think the moon had a lot to do with it.
Spent some Benita's few decent kingfish. Bottom fish has still
been pretty hot for like big vermillions right now, like
up to about five pounds. And uh, I had a
(01:16:14):
swordfish trip yesterday. I was out there dropping. I did
get a bite, and I had a fish on and
I got him to the boat and he jumped and
pulled the hook right.
Speaker 20 (01:16:24):
On the wine down.
Speaker 40 (01:16:25):
Oh wow, about eighty pound fish.
Speaker 4 (01:16:29):
That's uh boy, I would definitely have lost my brain
on that one. Dude.
Speaker 2 (01:16:32):
For sure, you're not patient enough, so you would just
like you would be. I enjoy swordfish like you.
Speaker 4 (01:16:41):
I hate sword fishing.
Speaker 2 (01:16:42):
I don't understand.
Speaker 4 (01:16:43):
I won't do it again ever, Dude.
Speaker 2 (01:16:44):
You gotta wait for a big prize sometimes.
Speaker 4 (01:16:47):
I've been after Danny Robinson's boat for nine hours watching
hope the rotchep goes tap tap tap, tappie right and
nothing was tappy okay for nine hours, but.
Speaker 2 (01:16:56):
You didn't get anything right. Wow, there's no difference there, Okay.
Speaker 7 (01:17:00):
You know, Vinnie like sword fishing To me, is it's
worth the wait if you get you know, an eighty
to two hundred to three hundred pound fish right geez?
Speaker 40 (01:17:11):
Yeah, that's safe any size fish just a little tiny
tap could be a five hundred pound or you don't know,
so it makes it interesting.
Speaker 4 (01:17:20):
It's okay, wait eight hours, you're so upset, but I
can't even talk about anyway. So Vinnie this, I'm heading
out to Borti fish with my sons on the double
d out of my keep stone, pointing to the marine. Actually,
what are the chances you think of fighting a few
of those fish? We start early in the morning.
Speaker 40 (01:17:37):
By the way, I would say you definitely get him tomorrow.
Definitely start early in the morning because it's been so hot.
Like you said, around noon or so, they'll probably slow down.
But I did see that he got a bunch this week.
I think he had his limit the other day. So
I'm pretty sure you'll do really.
Speaker 4 (01:17:54):
Good, outstanding job.
Speaker 2 (01:17:57):
Yeah, so if I get ahold of Vinnie's got his prediction.
Speaker 4 (01:18:00):
He just said I'm gonna look up tomorrow. How cool
was that he did? All right? Yeah, so what's your
target species today? There?
Speaker 40 (01:18:07):
Really, I'm actually not fishing today. First Saturday off in
a while since the kids went back to school, kind
of slowed down business wise, so I got some stuff
to do on the boat. You know, it's always something
to do, that's sure.
Speaker 4 (01:18:22):
Yeah, oh yeah, okay, very cool.
Speaker 2 (01:18:25):
Any wahoo Vinny.
Speaker 4 (01:18:26):
Of course I.
Speaker 40 (01:18:29):
Didn't see many this week out of Fort Lauderdale. Maybe
one or two, that's it. We've had a lot of
green water and no current, so not really the ideal
conditions for for that type of species.
Speaker 4 (01:18:40):
Okay, So want you ask if Joe you know how deep,
how warm the current going? Ask him all the usual
questions you do everybody.
Speaker 2 (01:18:48):
How's the how's the yellowtail?
Speaker 40 (01:18:52):
Yellow tail? I haven't been doing much of I've been
more doing than ver millions because, like I said, there's
no no current and stuff, so I've been able to
drop down, you know, two hundred and fifty three hundred
was really lightweight and catch them some really nice for millions.
Right now, I think they're spawning a lot of the
bigger ones we caught at eggs, so I've been catching
some big ones twenty inches twenty two inches, so you know,
(01:19:15):
really nice, nice fish.
Speaker 2 (01:19:16):
That's nice.
Speaker 32 (01:19:17):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:19:18):
Talk a lot of our caps every weekend about this.
I would asked you to, well, how bad is the
shark problem? Ride your boat these days?
Speaker 40 (01:19:26):
It's hidden miss. If you're pounding a spot on the bottom,
for a while and you're catching some nice fish. One's
going to show up eventually. Then when that happens, it's
by time to move unfortunately. But we were fishing two
three days ago. We were catching over millions in the
first two big ones. We got got bit in half.
Speaker 4 (01:19:49):
Sucks man. Yeah, I mean if sharks fish, don't tease me,
only bring up ahead, take the whole day of fish,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 40 (01:19:58):
So you got to pay your taxes, right, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
It happened in our tournament. Quite a few guys got shark.
Speaker 4 (01:20:03):
Yeah, that's scary being of a yack five inches off
the water shark swimming around you. That was scared the
hell out of me. Man. Anyway, So to book you
up for a day there, I Vinnie, give us your
contact information, my friend.
Speaker 40 (01:20:15):
Hey, you can look us up on social media at
YV normal Sport Fishing and you can give us a
call direct at nine to five four five five.
Speaker 4 (01:20:24):
So you do half day, full day, quarter days. What's
your what's your breaking there?
Speaker 40 (01:20:29):
Yeah, half day, full day and all day trip. So
you have a lot of options right now, I'd say
that book got all day for those dolphins because they're
out there.
Speaker 4 (01:20:38):
Man, I hope tomorrow morning. We're after early morning, Joey
hopefully look up. But Vinnie, thanks so much man, as always, brother,
you're the man, dude. Thanks Vinny.
Speaker 40 (01:20:48):
All right, you guys have a good one.
Speaker 4 (01:20:49):
All right. So this man's whatding bells ringing? Joe I
think in ninety nine days is what the post said
last night. Wow, I think she's getting nervous now. He's
trying to practice the words I do. Those are very
hard words to say when it comes to really the
moment of truth. Yeah, it's kind of hard to say
those words. You may have a second thought about it.
(01:21:10):
Can you say I didn't? Can you say I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:21:14):
I don't think the wife would be too happy about that.
Speaker 4 (01:21:18):
I think not either. But it's bringing the happy guy
Johnny still, let's do it? Johnny is Johnny? Johnny want it?
Buddy boy? What's up?
Speaker 5 (01:21:27):
Brother?
Speaker 33 (01:21:28):
Good morning, guys. It's yep, ninety today's ninety eight days.
But uh, I'm not having any regrets. You know, we've
been together for six years and you know it's uh,
it's gonna be good.
Speaker 4 (01:21:42):
I saw the Facebook post a long last night. By
the way, you're marrying a very very beautiful lady. She
looks like a real, real joy to be with it.
Lord's great, very pretty and just just a great look.
A couple of men, well, thank you. Yep, she is.
Speaker 33 (01:21:57):
She's she's a good girl. She gets the program.
Speaker 32 (01:22:00):
It's not every girl in the world is gonna want.
Speaker 33 (01:22:03):
Her husband or fiance or boyfriend coming home smelling like
a dead fish every day. So definitely, definitely very understanding
to my industry.
Speaker 2 (01:22:13):
Yeah, you know what, let me.
Speaker 4 (01:22:14):
Ask you a question, Johnny, real quick. I was Mary twice, okay,
and ye. Before I dated both of these ladies, they
would go out of my boat and just apparently I know,
they just acted like they liked it. Okay, after we
got married, they would step in my boat forever. They
just stopped totally. No fishing, no boating. Does your wife
to be like the sport of fishing, like boating?
Speaker 33 (01:22:37):
Yeah, and she's good at it too. I mean she's
you know, there are mornings where I'm like, I've been
fishing all week and we talked about fishing the night
before on like a weekend, and She's up at six
point thirty ready to rock and roll, and I'm still sleeping. So,
I mean, she she definitely likes it, and I think
she's uh, she's not just faking it. You can only
fake it for so long. Like I said, we've been
(01:22:59):
dating for or together for six years. It's hard to
fake it for six years.
Speaker 9 (01:23:05):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:23:05):
Well, I got rid of my second wife in Vegas.
That'll tell you how I was. Great.
Speaker 7 (01:23:09):
Job, that was, Yeah, And I will say, like just
to give you kind of a little insight on his
wife to be, Uh, we are exotic tournament, one of them,
Johnny Laura, Laura Laura, and she couldn't or Johnny couldn't
make it to that tournament. So she went out, got
the geek new and helped us out by herself. Yes,
(01:23:32):
in the boat, taking the numbers way in the fish. Yeah,
that's a that's so she's yeah, keeper man, the keeper.
So she is definitely the ying and yang with Johnny.
You know, they're they're perfect.
Speaker 4 (01:23:44):
Let's get back on the point with the fish news.
Johnny would have been doing a hearing or what's biting
brother man.
Speaker 33 (01:23:50):
You know, I'm actually up in the northeast still.
Speaker 41 (01:23:53):
I'm like come home this week and uh, but I
have to talk to a bunch of people, and you know,
basically just kind of follow all the fishing friends of
mine to see what they're doing and how they're doing.
Speaker 33 (01:24:04):
And you know, fishing has been pretty good, you know,
and we had those I guess a few days of rain,
straight rain all day long, and that kind of messed
it up. But I think going into this weekend, as
long as the rain kind of stays, you know, not
we don't want to get a lot of rain at once.
We wanted to rain, you know, consistently, and a little
(01:24:28):
bit of rain every day. We don't want it to
just dump one day because that'll ruin fishing for a
few days. But uh, there's always opportunities, even when the
fishing is bad, there's always opportunities to catch big fish.
Speaker 3 (01:24:42):
You know.
Speaker 33 (01:24:42):
You can't catch them from the couch, as they say,
so you got to get out and put the work in,
catch some bait, and and it's very possible to go
out and have a good day if you just keep
moving around.
Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
You know.
Speaker 33 (01:24:55):
I see a lot of guys that show up to
fish that lake and they're or you know, they're they're
fishing all the wrong stuff. And it's not because they
don't know any better. It's just I think people in general,
they'll go somewhere that are not they're not used to
fishing a spot or a place, and they'll pick you know,
(01:25:15):
maybe one or two or three spots on you know,
Google Earth or you know, whatever their map system is
that they have on their phone or their iPad or
computer or whatever, and they'll just kind of go and
fish those spots. And when they're not producing, they're just like, oh,
fishing is bad, you know, I guess we'll just call
it a day instead of you know, bouncing around on
a charter. I may bounce around as much as gosh,
(01:25:40):
fifteen times some days. If I'm not finding the fish,
I'm gonna be I'm gonna be moving and shaking finding
those fish. And sometimes that's what you have to do.
Speaker 16 (01:25:49):
You know.
Speaker 33 (01:25:50):
Every once in a while you get to hit your
first hot and fish there for three quarters of the
day and just rake them in. But that's not realistic, right, Bad.
Speaker 4 (01:26:00):
News, Johnny. I told you about me going on Google
and paying these guys ridiculous money for those live target lures.
I bought four five actually five with those at forty
five bucks apiece of different guys. So I've had those
lures now for two weeks and I'll tell you right now, Johnny,
not one peacock is even blinked at them. Wow. So
I go back to my little mini jig, my red
(01:26:21):
and white quarterback that's bucktail jig and just tearing it up, man,
of course, tearing it up. But they won't even bother
with those live target lures. So guess what I made
a booboo? They don't want them. I don't know.
Speaker 33 (01:26:34):
Well, you know I did send you that one jerk
bait that that's the number one jerk bait for me
for fishing artificial for peacocks. And you know that's Shamanos.
I'm Verno ninety five sp For anybody listening, it's it's
fantastic and you know what, it's got a couple of
cool features that really make it work. And don't get
(01:26:56):
me wrong, the red and white bucktail is also so
you know, I mean this tried, trued and tested. You know,
it's it's a that is I like to call that
a survival lure. You can literally take that that lure
anywhere in the world, whether you're stuck on a raft
in the middle of the ocean or up to a
lake in the northeast or to south Florida, and you're
(01:27:19):
going to catch fish on it. In any water, everything
is going to eat it because it represents a grub
of small eight fish or crustacean, depending on the way
you work it. It's the most versatile date in the world.
Speaker 19 (01:27:36):
In my In my opinion is.
Speaker 4 (01:27:39):
When I worked at jig Joe and Johnny, I work
it really feverishly hard, man. I mean I'm cranking. I think,
crank and crank, A little pause and crank, crank, Craig,
I get it. They really with some serious action and
it gets fired up. But just didn't nail it. I mean.
So that's my technique on a jig. And again I'm
used a quarter rout, stout, a half outs or whatever.
Quarter rout's oldly works on my lake.
Speaker 2 (01:27:58):
So maybe you're not using the new ones correctly.
Speaker 4 (01:28:01):
I would use a light target lures. Man. For the
last fifteen hours now they aren't. My fish are not
liking them. I don't know what that was wrong, dude.
Sure it's probably the guys you sold to me put
some bad car Bram. I don't know. Yes, anyway, Johnny,
have a great weekend, brother, man. So excited to get
a little pre wedding bill, blue nerves or what do
you think?
Speaker 33 (01:28:22):
No, man, I'm I'm confident my decision, and you know,
it's it's still like it's like so far away, so
I haven't really you know, it hasn't really hit me yet.
Speaker 5 (01:28:32):
You know.
Speaker 33 (01:28:32):
It's we say it's, oh, it's ninety eight days, but
it's you know.
Speaker 19 (01:28:36):
I'm not worried, I'm not nervous.
Speaker 33 (01:28:38):
I'm not getting cold feet. So I'm just tearing all
my life. And the wedding planning is definitely stressful, but
we're you know, we're we're ready.
Speaker 7 (01:28:47):
And it'll be here before you know it, my man,
and then you'll be uh yeah, planning for your little one.
Speaker 4 (01:28:52):
Just be aware of the words. So when your wife
says to you one day, honey, I'm really late, that
would be kind of a tippy. There's old Johnny Coy.
Maria ate a whole.
Speaker 2 (01:29:01):
Thing of raw hot dogs. That's how I knew, oh
for real.
Speaker 7 (01:29:05):
Yeah, she came home from work and she's like, man,
I'm starving, and I'm like, well, i'll throw something on
the and then I look over and she opened the
like hot dog bag and was just eating them, and I.
Speaker 4 (01:29:19):
Was like, oh, my god cravings already. Man, Oh that's
a sure size. Okay, I says, I'm late. She's much
got raw hot dogs. Pretty gives you an idea, I guess, Josh. Anyway,
you go have a good week. Ad Johnny, congratulations, been
coming up.
Speaker 32 (01:29:33):
So next buddy, Right, Thanks, guys.
Speaker 4 (01:29:36):

Speaker 4 (01:34:53):
We have if you watch the Facebook live stream, we
have people from Greece checking out the show, Italy, the
philipp this morning. I mean just everywhere on the planet.
You're watching the show, which is great anyway, check wind
so flipping hot for so flipping log, We've broken records.
It's just miserable. What is it ever going to end?
Speaker 2 (01:35:13):
And there's a hurricane?
Speaker 27 (01:35:14):
I know, yeah, uh yeah, it'll eventually, but we got
to get through the summer, the summer months first, so
hang in there. It's the same same story another week.
Pretty much. You have a forty percent chance of showers
and storms today, mostly sunny with a high in are
eighty nine, Keaton dex as high as one o two
(01:35:34):
east winds five to ten, sees less than two feet
inner coastal waters a light chopped. Tomorrow thirty percent pants
of storms, sunny with a high in air ninety Heaton
dex as high as one hundred, east winds around five
sees two feet or less inner coastal water smooth. And
the Keys today thirty percent chance of showers and storms,
mostly sunny, with the high in neer eighty seven, northeast
(01:35:56):
winds around ten not seas one to two feet near
shore water to light chop. Tomorrow, thirty chance of showers
and storms. And the Keys sunny with a high near
eighty seven east winds five to ten season round of
foot n'sure water smooth to a light chop. And in
Florida Bay today east winds near ten not baywater's a
light chop, scattered showers and storms. And then tomorrow east
(01:36:19):
to southeast winds five to ten baywater smooth to a
light chops, scattered showers and storms.
Speaker 4 (01:36:27):
You said, hurricane, I don't watch it anymore, so I
have no idea what's going on on the planet.
Speaker 27 (01:36:32):
Yeah, there's a there's there's quite a hurricane out there.
Aaron is major hurricane status right now. So while it's
not going to have a direct well it's not going
to directly bake landfall across the Caribbean islands and the Bahamas,
it's going to make a really close brush so you
can expect incredibly rough seas, ripped current, some rainfall, and
(01:36:56):
even though it's going to pass well away from South Florida,
it is going to generate some really big swells and
some possible rip current. So if you are going offshore
when that thing passes by, just keep that in mind
because it could knock up some pretty some pretty gnarly swells.
Speaker 4 (01:37:13):
Is it getting closer around our area? How many weeks
or days awakenes.
Speaker 27 (01:37:20):
I was just looking at it stand by. I can
tell you right now it is just north of say,
the Caribbean Islands. And then where's my cone here?
Speaker 32 (01:37:35):
It does.
Speaker 40 (01:37:37):
The cone, the cone, but.
Speaker 4 (01:37:42):
The cone is up. We'll see Wednesday, Tuesday, all right,
So what of these forgetting little start going all different directions.
That's happening soon. I will imagine the noodles starts showing
up on the TV screen.
Speaker 7 (01:37:56):
Yeah, I mean we're fine with that. High pressure always
kind of bails us out, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:38:02):
Yeah, every weekend? Yeah upright, all right, Jen? Is it
Atlanta Hot Lanta? What's it up there like that? Is
it still smoking hot or what?
Speaker 27 (01:38:13):
Yeah? Smoking hot, humid, miserable, super hot.
Speaker 4 (01:38:17):
That's a lovely thing. That for the forecast miserable hot
rank right right, all right, well, Jed, thanks so very
much for the spot on forecast hot and Doggy out here.
We live in a program and just thanks so much
for bring here every weekend. Thanks you guys, the best
of the best. Jennifer Gray Warren, Yeah she is. Her
(01:38:39):
show was on Discovery Channel last Sunday, by the way,
the debut show she was Diving the Keys.
Speaker 2 (01:38:43):
You watched it.
Speaker 4 (01:38:44):
I watched the whole thing. Okay, I'll give a replay.
He said what it was about.
Speaker 2 (01:38:47):
I don't believe you.
Speaker 4 (01:38:49):
She had a watch. She was diving the keys. They're
actually trying to take care of coral with some new
coral transplants, trying to revive the reefs in Largo, and
and I would just do the whole thing about how
they do it. And then and then she got double
the show and took her what'shoot off and went back home.
And then I'm not telling you what. I'm just trying
(01:39:10):
to give the audience that you know, bust the ending
for him to watch. Right, Okay, let's go the keys. Now,
shall we stop rambling? Let's do it. Let's do it. Man,
all right, the one the only skip the man, Brady,
you want to skip skips.
Speaker 32 (01:39:25):
Good morning. I'll tell you what we got Lake Atlantic
down here today in the temperature of my truck. I'm
not out, the boats out, but i'm home anyway. Stepping
is eighty two right here at this time, and wrote
a beautiful day to be on the water. We have
a future on the boats out this week. I'll tell
you what. The black fin tuna have made their appearance
on the Amorada, and what we call the Amorada hopped
the four or nine one off with bud Mary's and
(01:39:47):
then the one off a Barrathon which to Beacha, both
from oom A lot forty three miles, but it's the
Barrathon them and all the black pintuna showed up. I'm
gonna say about two weeks earlier. Normally the first part
of September they show up and for whatever reason then
they don't ever count it, but they know it seems
like they're there. And the guys that catch them now
nice fish fifteen some of them fifteen, twenty even some
twenty five pounds fish busted. And of course the sharks
(01:40:10):
are out there and it's tough to turn those face
on some of them. So if you do, I've mentioned
this a couple of weeks ago, then if you hook
a nice tune on the seamount, on the seamount, turn
the boat towards Miami, which occurrent's going that way, and
back the drags off and let the fish just run,
let them have a little chance to run away from
the sharks, and you'll find that sometimes the sharks will
give up on chasing them and then go back to
(01:40:30):
the seamount where there's some more food. So just think
about that. But it see if it happens, throw you
out because they are staffed out there. There's alw these sharks,
but maybe they'll they'll stop them. And Baldi theboy bite
it said, the magical pieces of debris. And Johnny yesterday
the drop back called four boats in and everybody made
that day. They all had, you know, ten to fifteen fish.
All gaffers now well say gifts, no, maybe lifted, but
(01:40:53):
heavy lifters will cordo's fish in a foard to six
pound class and then it's get to eight nine, ten times.
Probably need to put a gaff and a lot of it,
is it, because if you lift them out of the water,
they are pull hoops out of them. So your mother
put a gaff in those because you know they're legal. Anyway.
You can tell the difference between the twenty inch and
the twenty five inch by here, So it's pretty good
out there. I tell you the fishing enough and you
(01:41:13):
need that magic piece of debris mean magical meaning it's
not just a beautiful old palate with nothing on. That's
not magical. But you have a two ft by two
piece of wood and all of a sudden the place
turned blue and fish enough. The guy said, Johnny, everybody
had him yesterday, so I'm having to report.
Speaker 4 (01:41:31):
By Joe. That's that's gold Man. Oh yeah, man, But
what happens a lot of the times. You'll spot a
two by four, I'm fishing on my boat whatever else,
and okay, hey, sud just keep it right at two
by four. Okay, I'm just gonna spin it around over
control by it gone. And by the time I turned around,
I said, are your eyes on it? Yeah, d's I
can't find it. And that just ticks me off. Mal
(01:41:51):
you believe anyway, anything else but he bought it by
yellow tails or anything else going on?
Speaker 32 (01:41:58):
Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna say pot two of this conversation.
The yellow tailer biting there and they're you know, they're
very the keepers at twelve I wish they were large
twelve thirteen inch. But that's something to think of. You
can do that two different ways. You can stop in
the morning where it's cooler right now, and catch the
yellow tails to biting and cover yourself with fifteen twenty
twenty five yellow tail to have a bunch of people
(01:42:18):
on the bug glout and fish for the Myhell, you
could go out and fish for the MAYI catch and
cover on the my here come back in to do
the yellow tail fishing. I'm a lot of well, no,
I'm out all the keys. That's pretty much the way
we do it. I don't know about the palm beaches
end up in the load of other if they do
such a thing. But you hear more about yellow tail
fishing into Florida Keys Deli throughout the year that.
Speaker 20 (01:42:37):
You do up there.
Speaker 32 (01:42:37):
It sounds like it's just a difference that we have.
We covered by covering ourselves by catching something, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:42:44):
Yeah, so this time us all the snowbirds are gone.
It's pretty quiet the keys, just locals. Uh mighty broward
guys going down the local keys guys. All the tourists,
you're gone right of there.
Speaker 32 (01:42:56):
Yeah, it's one. It's one of down that. So you're
getting maybe half to have to flee the fact today
I'm not down the doctor our boats out today, but
I went going up there at sea circus lated. So
we took the day off at center deck tenn als
and I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:43:08):
Going to the circus.
Speaker 32 (01:43:08):
So as soon as we get done here, we're gonna.
Speaker 20 (01:43:10):
Put some gas in the car and head.
Speaker 32 (01:43:11):
Towards Miami spend the night. But anyway, yeah, we have
about half the boats out in town today.
Speaker 20 (01:43:15):
I checked down there with the guys that are out there,
and and that's it.
Speaker 32 (01:43:18):
Another thing you don't talk much about, and we don't either,
but the Cabo snapper season is upon us and the
guy down here more than ever. Both guys are doing.
And now my buddy Key lugwoout he had a he
said he had eleven bites and they only caught three.
Whatever that means. They're using a live mobster. One thing
about a live lobster. They're not fighting. Good thing is
to take them home and eat them so they can
(01:43:39):
them that put We used it, and we've got three
or four boats out there right now. They go ahead
and pushing so many clients to go out. What a
nice way to spend the night if you don't mind
fishing in the doctor Stapper and the Caba snapper. Our
biding not a bouncer. Smith used to always give a
report on them, they snapper. But he's not with us
down this way anymore. But it's not for in August.
(01:43:59):
Then there's a but they're out there in that one
hundred and eighty to two hundred and twenty foot of water,
and the guys are catching them out here.
Speaker 4 (01:44:05):
Does anybody actually eat cabrera snapper that they might eat
coubret snappers skip the edible?
Speaker 32 (01:44:13):
Yeah, good, they caught one here, they caught they caught
three and all theyway small fish. And if someone's fish
went well over one hundred pounds, but let's say Greig
said they caught it. They caught a thirty pounder, and
they caught it forty and they looked like they had
another one about forty pounds, So they took the thirty
pounder and they ate them there they fixed apparently. I
don't know. If you eat one hundred pounds like a
warsaw a group, I don't know, but if you want
(01:44:35):
to outside, but they are thirty pounded probably pretty much
just like a pretty much just like a group of
thirty pounds, and I suspect them dog. So I don't know,
but not very edible.
Speaker 4 (01:44:46):
I heard rumors for so many years the guys didn't
eat kubert. It wasn't really an edible table fare. But
maybe really that's what I heard. I heard the wrong
guy obviously ship edible, So yeah, I'll take it back.
Oh yeah, yeah, all right.
Speaker 32 (01:44:58):
Well, Skip, thirty pounder was edible, good, great with the
other night, and he's still with us. I talked yesterday,
so they're very edible. I didn't think they probably in
the same class as a thirty pound group, and they
might be a little different, but not much. I don't
tell you. I don't know. I've never had any I
don't think.
Speaker 20 (01:45:12):
So there you go.
Speaker 32 (01:45:13):
That's all I can think.
Speaker 4 (01:45:14):
You about it, Skip, great man, thanks so much. Having
a fine week.
Speaker 2 (01:45:17):
Yeah, thanks Skip.
Speaker 32 (01:45:18):
Yeah, were heading to Miami. We'll go up for you
and you're gonna have some fine dining, go see the
circus away and then tomorrow head back off. So you
guys have a great show. I'm listening to it from
my car. You guys sound great.
Speaker 20 (01:45:30):
Thank you, Thank you very much, thank you.
Speaker 4 (01:45:32):

would never know it. Boy, his voice, I want his energy.

and say, kids, listen, what are you talking to? You
always want to use live shiners, okay, because I have
no skills for the lure at all, so I always
