Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's go. We got Priscilla Block on the line tracking
you down. We greatly appreciate you calling us back. And again,
I'm from Raleigh, North Carolina. I know that you're the
proud of Leedsville High School, so I want to say,
just on a personal level, I'm so proud of you.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Oh my gosh, thank you, thank you so much. I'm
the girl that moved from North Carolina when I was
seventeen years old, was fifty bucks to my name, just
literally hoping this whole thing would work out, and we're
doing it. So I'm very thankful.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Well, you are doing it. We're getting into the sophomore album. Congratulations.
I do want to say I'm so glad that you
included yard sale and the pre releases because by the
time I got to it, I needed it.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Yay. Well, let's talk about it because you know some
heavy subject matter. I love sad country music that it
got me in my feels. How are you feeling about it?
What's the feedback? Ben like, hopefully you're super proud of
it and excited, because I mean, I think it's dope. Now. Granted,
I'm from Raleigh, so I think everything you do is dope.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
It's so exciting putting out this record. I share so
much of my life online a very open person, and
I think people really feel close to me, like they
know me, and you know, I wanted to name it
Things You Didn't See because there are so many parts
of my life people just haven't seen. And that's kind
of the theme throughout this record. Whether it's the insecurities
that I've faced, or the heartbreaks of growing up that

(01:18):
have shaped me to who I am today, or the
love in my life. There are kind of pieces that
people really haven't seen, and that's what this record is
to me. Like obviously there's still the Priscilla vibes, you know,
there's Yard Sale, there's goodwill to Gucci, but it is
a little bit more of a deeper side. And I
was going to put out my album last year. I
got listening through to the songs and I just felt

(01:38):
like something was missing and I realized it was my life,
like it was what I was going through. I never
want to be the artist just to put out music,
to put out music like I want it to be
real with where I'm at, and that really inspired me
to write Couldn't care Less. I felt like It was
my letter to the world to anybody that maybe misunderstood
who I am or like taken me as the girl
that couldn't care less, when in reality, I'm like, y'all,

(02:00):
I care a lot. So that song in itself really
shifted this project.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yeah, I love the twist on that one, by the way,
but like, yeah, but I could well at the top
of the list. We want everyone to listen to it,
and I want them to derive their own experiences and
connect with it in different ways. That's the beautiful thing
about music. But you did touch on it. If you
had to put something at the top of the list
for things people didn't see, what do you think you

(02:26):
could put a finger on it?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Man?

Speaker 1 (02:29):
So sorry, I don't know if that's way too in depth,
but I just I'm curious because I love the evolution
from block Party to this because I felt like strategically
there was some real life to that, and I've gone
through some tough things and I started extracting things from
the songs. I was like, oh, man, I feel like
I understand what she's talking about right here. So I
just I wondered what those things would be if you

(02:50):
had to pick one.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
I think The biggest thing is my heart. I'm a
really emotional person. I think most artists are, you know.
I think a lot of people see like a girl
with a big, bold personality that's unapologetic, but like sometimes
you assume people like that are bulletproof. I think the
biggest thing that people haven't seen is really just the
struggles that I've faced kind of behind the scenes. I

(03:12):
wanted to show that in this record. I think there's
power and being like guys, I'm human too.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
I am really looking forward to next week. One I'm
a music junkie. But two, even with the pre releases
and if you want to talk about the strategy for those,
I felt the pre releases were very versatile, so I
feel like the album's going to be very versatile. One
of the songs that I love just because I grew
up in the country. You grew up right down the
street from me, phones and radios reminded me of high school,

(03:38):
some of the heavier things that go through adulthood. Then
it took me back to high school. Then Yard Sale
was fun and I got the vibes. So I've felt
like the pre releases covered a broad spectrum of life.
It was really cool yay.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Well, that was the goal. I wanted to put out
different vibes from the records. Obviously it's a more serious
tone record. I wanted people to like know that that
there's all different kind of vibes on this album. But like,
that's why I love so much about creating this record.
I feel like so many artists feel like they have
to be like this only specific lane, or like it's

(04:10):
only it has to sound this way. There's so many
different pieces of me, like to my personality, and that
comes through in my music. There are songs that will
make you laugh, there's some songs that'll make you cry.
That's kind of just who I am, and so I
love that you notice each song kind of has its
own things. But this record kind of feels like me
wrapping up my twenties, and it's all of those feelings

(04:31):
you face growing up where you think you have life
figured out and then you realize you don't know anything.
You fall in love, you fall out, you experience loss,
and then you're finding yourself going back to your roots
of everything that you were trying to get away from
in the first place. It's kind of like this crazy, mental,
chaotic thing that you experience with growing.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Up Priscilla Block, things you didn't see. We are proud
of you. Again. I grew up on six fors Road
and I am a big Priscilla Block fan.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Well, thank you so much. Thanks for taking the time,
and I'll talk to you soon.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Let's go have a great day. Thanks again, Priscilla
