Speaker 1 (00:01):
What's the Carolina's talking about today? Sarah Lee's Top three.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Let's start off with the big congratulations to the Carolina Ascent.
Their inaugural season ended yesterday after a controversial call in
the playoffs. If you were at the game, you saw
when Fort Lauderdale United scored what appeared to be an
offside goal in the one hundred and twenty aeth a minute,
the whole crowd was done. Carolinas two to one semi

(00:27):
final loss ended one of the most successful inaugural seasons
in Charlotte pro sports history. So congratulations. No matter how
it ended, we are still so very proud.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Not appeared to be totally off sides, but story for
no time.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Yes, And if you were in Charlotte this weekend, taste
to Charlotte.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
So much was going on, but the Savannah Bananas were
in town. They broke a record.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
One hundred and forty eight thousand fans showed up, breaking
the Banana Ball attendance or record.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
I've never seen more people in.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
My entire life, but you and I showed up at
the stadium at like eleven thirty on Saturday morning. People
were wrapped around the building just in the merch line
that early.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yeah, it was crazy. And again you and I get
to see a ton of concerts, a ton of live events.
I have never been anywhere to any live event where
the crowd participation was as affluent as it was at
that Just everybody once they got into the stadium, it
was full on showtime. It was great.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
That was the best baseball game I've ever seen. I
tried to explain, It's kind of like Disney on ice,
but baseball style. If you get a chance to see them,
definitely check them out. They are all about the fan experience.
We also had a chance to go to Myrtle Beach
for CCMF Carolina Country Music Festival. Saw a lot of
cat country listeners out there. Thank you to every single

(01:47):
person who stopped us and who said hello. It was
the first night, though it was a little crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
We got rained on, We got rained on, but we
were dancing in the rain and enjoying our time. We
got to see Tyler Hubbard, which was awesome or both
of us. But it was a crazy cool experience. The
whole weekend was raining, kind of cold at night and
then the next day just beating down here. But either way,
it was a good time. And so blessed that we
get to do things like that. Shout out to Cat Country.

(02:12):
We did get to see a bunch of Cat Country
t shirts down there, was awesome.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
I have to give a big shout out to Brandon
McDonald and Lizzie Rue. Both stopped us to say hello
Cat Country listeners.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Is awesome.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
When you're on the street and somebody just randomly stops you,
it makes you feel good inside.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
So you made our day, so thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Always a good thing to see family, you know what
I mean? All right, Derek's Bentley Zach Top. We have
tickets to give away just after seven Cat Fight. It's
ninety six point nine the cat thank you for tusing.
Grammby and Sarah Lee Happy Monday. Let's crush this week.
And you aren't in the mood to talk, but continually
get text messages from We'll say an acquaintance. How do

(02:50):
you react? How do you respond? It's Grahamby and Sarah Lee.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
When you say acquaintance is that a friend? Is that
somebody you have a relationship with? You've got to go
further with.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
That, Okay, So acquaintance is outside my top fifty. If
you're outside my top fifty of favorite people in the world.
You're an acquaintance, then.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
I don't know how they have your number.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
You don't think fifty people have your number. I yeah,
I have your number. I've seen you give your number
to like people on the street.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
I love people so much, so I put my phone
in do not Disturb as soon as I leave work
so that lets people know, Hey, I'm busy.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
I got things going on.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
So if you see that message and I don't respond,
I think that's the nice way to let others know.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Right now is not the time.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Okay, I don't give one word responses because I believe
that starts a conversation.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Correct, agreed. So that's what I was asking because you
and I had a very amazing weekend, but it was
a long weekend. Yesterday Carolina played Arizona in the College
World series. I was watching it, had my phone up,
and I was receiving lots of messages. I didn't feel
like answering, but I felt like I was being rude
because I was seeing these texts come in and not responding,

(03:59):
and I felt, well, maybe a one word response because
social etiquette says, oh, well, they're not really in the mood.
To talk. So what do you think one word answers?
I feel like, do not deserve as a cheat code,
because you're right, that solves all problems.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Well, one thing that would solve your problem is take
off your red receipt, so then they don't know you
read the message. They don't know you got your message.
And I learned very quick working with you. Never text
message Graham Bun during any kind.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Of sports event. He's not going to answer.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
So I feel like if they know you, they know
not to text you during the game.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Right, Like I said, outside the top fifty acquaintances, they
didn't know. But you are right, you're inside the top fifty,
so you know that rule.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
So just take off your red receipt and you're covered.
You don't have to respond, all right.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
What do you think if someone is texting you? Is
it better to acknowledge the text and say yes long pause, no,
long pause, or do you just ignore it? One eight
hundred and five seven zero nine six nine to zero.
How do you handle this? I've always appreciated fast. So
like when you part your first hole in golf, you

(05:02):
make all your first shots in a basketball game, you
catch all the green lights on your way to work.
How about starting your week with some good good news.
It's Graham b and Sara Lee.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
What a weekend.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
The Savanna Bananas took over Bank of America Stadium. That
actually broke the Banana ball.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Attendance.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
One hundred and forty eight thousand fans showed up and
we had two local guys there representing I have to
pay up. I was repping Eric Jones Junior with the
Savannah Bananas.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
He's the catcher. He had a great game and I'm
very proud of him.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Same but he fell short to the Party Animals, and
so I have to give a big shout out to
Reeese Hampton. He's the center fielder for the Party Animals,
born and raised right here in Charlotte.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
This guy hit four.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Home runs in two games this weekend, and the Party
Animals beat out my Savannah Bananas six to three on Saturday.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
So I lost the bet.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
So here's your snacks.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
I don't know if you can hear this. We got
a chance to speak to Reese and the bat was hot,
and the bat stayed hot. We had a handshake deal
that he's gonna get a couple of these fruit snack
bags that you and I bet on I get fruit
snacks for a whole month. Reese checks in the mail,
which the check is fruit snacks. So congratulations. It is
some good good news for you boy winning a bet,

(06:23):
and for any and everybody that attended that game, because
it was quite the show. Like you said, one hundred
and forty eight thousand people spent their good earned money
to come out and see quite the show. It's time
for cat fights with Grand and Seraily on ninety six
point nine the cat then from Lancaster. You are taking
on Samantha from Maiden and we are playing for Dirk

(06:45):
s Bentley and Zach Top tickets August ninth at the
PNC Pavilion. Now, in honor of beating Sarah Lee and
a bet we had for the Savannah Bananas game, all
of our answers are gonna revolve around fruits. Question number one.

and it's known for its long curved shape. Samantha banana

Speaker 1 (07:18):
This fruit comes in many colors, including green, red, and yellow,
and is often associated with a gift for your teacher.
Ben Apple apple it is.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
This is my favorite fruit in the summertime that has
a green rind is red in the inside.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Smantha, Samantha watermelon.

Speaker 1 (07:36):

Cat Graham beat and sarahly times in your life where
not being okay is completely and totally okay. It's gram
B and Saraly.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Saturday was an amazing day.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
We went to the Savannah Bananas game. Unfortunately for me,
after the game, I got caught up in a not
so much fun situation. To censor it, I was gridlocked
in traffic, couldn't move my jeep. There was a lot
of chaos going on, a lot of loud noises. I
had my ten year old son hunkered down in the
floorboard of my jeep and cover his head. And I've

(08:36):
never been more terrified in my adult life, mostly because
you want to protect your kids at all costs and
when you are so helpless. I was not okay, and
so many people have asked me since then. First of all,
thank you for all the prayers, all the notes, and
all the messages.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
And Graham asked.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Me when I got in this morning, how are you?
And I said, well, I'm not okay because one of
my goals is to start being completely transparent and tell
people it's okay to not be okay.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
That's to hear me out today.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
If you're going through something, it's okay to not be
okay and to answer honestly because acting like you're okay
only makes it worse.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Yeah, I feel like social pressures and social norms apply
when you feel like you cannot be honest because your
answer might not be deemed happier fun. And we would
just want to make sure that you are honest with
us because we want to be here. There is no
judgment that this is a safe place for you. Ninety
six point nine. The Cat supports you, We support Sarah Lee,
we support anyone that is shouldering something heavy, and we

(09:34):
highly encourage you to find an outlet that you feel
is healthy for you to share so you do not
feel alone, So it is okay to not be okay.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
And I mentioned this earlier. It's Men's Mental Health Awareness
Month and more so, I feel like men feel like
they have to be this strong superhero and when they
get asked, how.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Are you doing, they always answer I'm doing good.

Speaker 2 (09:56):

but I just wanted to call you guys and say

to hear that daily, and especially on a Monday. That
was great to hear this morning letting people know that.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Well, thank you Justin for calling in and just for
your encouragement, because I feel like a lot of times
people want joy and they want all this excitement, but
I think it's really important to be transparent and today
I'm not okay, and I think share that message lets
other people know it's okay to say.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
I'm not okay to absolutely and I know you, Serahly
one of the best for your kids and you want
to keep them safe, and with being in that situation
on that way home from the ballgame, I understanding completely,
and that causes a lot of anxiety because us as
parents want to keep our kids safe.
