Speaker 1 (00:00):
Tyler Rich it's ninety six point nine in the cap
one of my favorite human beings. And uh so I
know that you've We've done a lot of life together. Yeah,
and so I've always known that you fought for creative
control of the things that you put out. I feel
like there has been a shift in some of the
things that you are putting out. Do you feel like
you are completely in control driving the ship on creatively

(00:20):
what you are putting out?

Speaker 2 (00:21):
I am the captain now and then it's awesome. Yeah, yeah, Matt,
it's the best getting creative freedom again. It made me
fall in love music again. It made me remember why
I start doing it in the first place. And just yeah,
being in charge of the ship all the way is
super stressful, but it's worth every ounce of the stress
that comes with it.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
And you fought for years for that, I mean you, Yeah,
there was conversations where you didn't feel like that was
gonna come. So congrats, congrats.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Fan, We got to get to the good.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
No, no, no, I think it is great.

Speaker 5 (00:50):
Graham like nonchalantly says as you're walking up, I introduced
him and his wife, and I'm like, what do you
know what?

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Like that's a big bomb to just drop on me before.
Where did y'all meet? How did this happen?

Speaker 4 (01:01):
It was kind of gangster what you did, though. I
got to give you. I need to take some notes.
I'm trying to find a wife.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Yeah, can you help him out?

Speaker 6 (01:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:07):
I do have gangster sensibility sometimes. And we're at stage
coach and just in the pit and I had this
like band down on my face, you super dusty and
windy in the desert, and I saw this beautiful girl
stand behind me. That's an understatement, gorgeous, gorgeous woman. Yeah,
And I was like, how do I know you? I
know you from somewhere. I don't know, maybe we have
your picture friendly get our recognizer. And then all of

(01:29):
a sudden, this boar right here walks it behind me,
and I was like, Graham, what's up?

Speaker 6 (01:32):
Bro?

Speaker 4 (01:32):
And she knew Graham. Yeah, but we had never had
but we had never met. Yeah, not us. But and
then he just talked me up and yeah, I threw
a limb. Yeah, and that was easy.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
I feel like you should have been a groomsman.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
I definitely said a congratulations text for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
He didn't want to give you away and been the
pastor honestly, no, no.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
But I'm super I am super proud of you. Man.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
I'm seeing you go through a lot and creatively grow.
And you know, I'm a music junkie, so I've tried
to follow his us as I can. But this, this
new stuff, you gotta be just over.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
The moon floor.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
It's the best, man. I appreciate that. Yeah, it's uh,
it's just me. It's just fully me. Yeah, it's all heart,
nothing else, it's just real life.

Speaker 5 (02:12):
Is it hard to be that vulnerable and share your
soul and then have it be judged by other people?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
You never think about that part. If you do, you
won't ever release stuff that is you. And so I
wanted to be as real, personal, honest ra as possible
on this to just connect more with my favorite people,
which are the people that come to our shows. And
there's tears every night, there's hugs for minutes straight. There's
just such a deeper connection now that I am releasing

(02:40):
just real stories that everybody goes to want.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yeah, of course, authentic stuff.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
That's what people got taken.

Speaker 7 (02:48):
Bro.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
All right, all in style in the building.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
It's looking good and I feel like the hair's gotten
a little longer since the last time we hung.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Out and healthy looking. Man, I want the secrets.

Speaker 7 (02:57):
Oh boy, Oh yeah, quit drinking a lot, man, you
know a lot.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Of health benefits of that. Oh fuller hair too, all right? Yeah,
I actually I had to grow it out real real,
real long, and then I cut it all off.

Speaker 8 (03:12):
Man.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
If you feel lighter, oh man, I feel a whole
lot better there.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
When you're on the stage, you're swinging and like rocking
it out.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
You know.

Speaker 7 (03:20):
Sometimes sometimes depends on what we do backstage before we
go up on stage.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
What is what is the pre shale routine?

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (03:28):
Raise hell?

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Bro all nice?

Speaker 3 (03:30):
All right, okay, how do we raise hell?

Speaker 8 (03:33):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (03:34):
You know, I don't know.

Speaker 7 (03:35):
I mean, you know, just uh, get everybody up, get
everybody hyped up. You know, eight percent of time something's
gonna get broke. Oh wow, you know, not really know.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
I'm kidding them for real.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Yeah, I'm seriously I was gonna back it up almost
stand on.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Oh yeah, man.

Speaker 7 (03:50):
We just we just get routy, you know, turn on
some good rock and roll and just you know, go
let it all hang out.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
How's the week, Ben? Is it crazy busy? Oh? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (03:58):
Well, I just I just got back in last night
at about midnight from you know, I was back home,
uh Mississippi, and uh yeah, it's been wild.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Anything on the bucket list that you want to do,
because I feel like most artists don't spend a lot
of time in nashals are always torn.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Yeah, man, like just anything to do anything, like anything
when you're here. When I'm hearing that, when you enjoy,
you know, getting time in Nashville. Dude, I wish the man.

Speaker 7 (04:23):
I wish the dry cleaners you get my clothes.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
Oh my god, I can't help but notice you're a
tattoo right in the middle.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
What was that just seventeen?

Speaker 7 (04:37):
Wow, we got a chess piece that's got my mama's
birthday on it.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
I'm about to die hurt uh a lot. Well it
didn't hurt too bad.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
But you can get up here on these coleon get
it a couple of years ago, so it's been a minute.
Oh yeah, did she know? No.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
I feel like the chess plate is also aggressive when
when people don't know, they wha.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
Yeah, what it's like, you know down here is not
too bad. But them colored.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Rooms, you can handle it.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
You got this, So tell us about white child, I said,
he really did he whiteish?

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Like that's your jam.

Speaker 7 (05:11):
That's me, man, that's me. You know, white trash come
you know, come from when I was a little fellow.
Uh you know, you know, hometown got seventy three people in.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
No way wide you know, I mean just seventy three people.
You're being for real?

Speaker 7 (05:24):
Yep, yeah, we did have uh did have seventy four.
My uncle passed a couple of years ago.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
I'm trying to laugh. Oh, cowboy people.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Uh we just we just all hang out. Yeah, And
how have they reacted to the success that you're having.
One dude, they all sound like that.

Speaker 7 (05:41):
They love keep bringing off course they love it, but
like you know, some people don't understand it, you know,
like they don't understand it.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
And that's that's so cool that like give us an example.

Speaker 7 (05:50):
I mean, like one guy he was and he was
asking me when I was gonna like start taking lessons
and stuff if I want to do it for a living.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
And I was like, yeah, that's that, I mean.

Speaker 7 (06:00):
Kind of you know, blessed, thank Laura, kind of doing
it for a living for about three years.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
You know, just start sending them links. They don't know
what those are, but I got it. All right, you
got to write letters.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Thank you so much time.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
You are so much time man, such a pleasure.

Speaker 5 (06:18):
Go to a concert in your hometown. We want to
do that like a bonfire concert.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Good time, enjoy ray Lynn in the building.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
How are we and what's up? Thanks for being here.

Speaker 9 (06:32):
No, we're doing it, see them, ain't we?

Speaker 4 (06:35):
I wanted to ask you and then we can move
on to whatever you want.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Is because you're releasing new music over the years, We've
known each other for a very long time. The strategy
in releasing music. How has that changed and how have
you been affected by the strategy behind all of that
or do you have one?

Speaker 10 (06:49):
I think the coolest thing about where we're at today
is there's no real pressure on you know, how many
songs you released in a year, and if you release something,
you see it's not working, greatly move on to the next.
But I feel like sometimes back in the day, we'd
kind of beat a dead horse if it wasn't working.
But it's just with we we find out so much
with social media and even though we can lover hate,

(07:12):
get direct feedback from the from the consumer and and
you just you can figure it out really quickly what's
going to resonate and I love like there's so many
cool litmus tests when you just post a song.

Speaker 9 (07:23):
Online, like hey, what do y'all think? And some people
hate that. I'm like, hell, I love it.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Like I like I do.

Speaker 10 (07:28):
I want the honest truth of what it looks like
and so it sounds like and how people feel. So
it's been cool, Like we released three songs this year.
We're going to finish it into a record next year.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
But I put.

Speaker 11 (07:42):
There.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
I wanted to pat.

Speaker 10 (07:43):
I wasn't gona put out the record this fall, but
I was like, I really want to do a Christmas album.

Speaker 9 (07:47):
So we had a Christmas and I we're gonna release
it next year.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
You're going to make it. Do you already have your
Christmas to core up?

Speaker 5 (07:54):
No?

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Not yet.

Speaker 9 (07:55):
I know that that sounds crazy.

Speaker 10 (08:00):
Is an after Thanksgiving guy, So we're gonna do a
week before.

Speaker 9 (08:03):
So we're going to start this weekend.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
I love your nails, we love your music, I love
your fashion. And I just realized we are six degree
separation with everybody. Usually it's Graham because Grandma is everybody
I don't.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Know was in LA.

Speaker 9 (08:15):
I love Graham.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
I love her sweet, and I know you.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
I first found out about you through a music video
you did because my girl from she was from Charlotte,
moved to Nashville makeup artist and she was like.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
Raylan, is this slight and cutest? And like she what
is it?

Speaker 5 (08:32):
I get the paradise sing on you put me on
the spot.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
It was like a year ago. Or Bailey up Church
is her.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
Name, Okay, and so she's a sweet, funny girl, funny girl,
but she like would promote, like play all these videos
all the time, and she shows up in my algorithm.
And so that's how I got turned on to you.
And I'm like, I love Fraelan, I love your music.
I love that you're a girl's girl and your fashion
is on point.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
I called her a liar. I was like, Rayland, don't
be no make up. That's a lie. Yeah, I told her.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
I called her a lot of absolutely don't know your nails,
Like this is like tortoise show.

Speaker 9 (09:05):
Now my girlfriend doesn't thank you.

Speaker 8 (09:07):
I need to last question because they're wrapping us up.
But I was curious about uh. You said you enjoyed
the litmus test. What has been your favorite litmus test?
Like that you found success with YEP.

Speaker 9 (09:19):
I feel like long of country music has been a
good one.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
You know.

Speaker 10 (09:23):
People feel that it's something different, something cool, and it's
a really exciting to see a new sound kind of
take off like that.

Speaker 11 (09:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (09:32):
So the last time we saw you, Christiansen, was at
the radio station. Yes, and you made me cry like
the obi cry at work, which I don't like to
do that because.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
You call it your music.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
That's nice, your music touches my soul. But also you
just randomly gave out.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
A boat I did.

Speaker 11 (09:53):
Yeah, I just I don't know. You just be good
to people.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
Man.

Speaker 6 (09:56):
If people weren't good to me over the years, I
wouldn't be where I am. So I'm thankful for the
goodness that's been given to me.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
They named the boat after you.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
They sent me pictures and they literally put your name
on the side of the boat.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
They love it and they're so thankful.

Speaker 11 (10:09):
Really nice to hear. That's cool, man.

Speaker 6 (10:11):
I don't know. Just you know, people have blessed me
so many times, and when you're able to be in
a position where you can bless others, that's.

Speaker 11 (10:20):
Really what you're supposed to do. That's just that's it.

Speaker 6 (10:23):
I'm the bottom line, and I hate it for people
who don't understand the world that way, but yeah.

Speaker 11 (10:28):
You know, I don't. I just believe.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
I just I believe the same in our job and
it's a little bit different for you.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
But in our job, we do our best to raise
awareness for people's music in their art because they work
so hard on it.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
Yes, but there comes a time.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Where that flips and you've had a lot of success
and now our job is to shed light on the
guy you are, because that's very kind curtain back. I
think it's better for us to shed light on the
person you are, like they know the music because the
music has done that. Have you felt that switch for yourself?

Speaker 11 (10:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (10:56):
Okay, Yeah, that's a cool thing, man, Thank you.

Speaker 11 (10:59):
See, I've all I praypreciate that.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
See.

Speaker 6 (11:00):
I've always been on the more of on the already
switch side because I I don't know, I'm just not
impressed by music and stuff. I just do it because.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
It's all what I know, and it's therapeutic and I
enjoy it.

Speaker 11 (11:12):
I mean I selfishly, I enjoy it.

Speaker 6 (11:14):
But I really like just people to know who I
really am, like y'all know, and just be a good
person man, because at the end of the.

Speaker 11 (11:21):
Day, I don't.

Speaker 6 (11:22):
I really don't care if people care about my music,
right I'm dead or almost dead. I just hope they
care that I was a great dude. And then people go,
I love that guy.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
Like, well, we're doing our best to spread that.

Speaker 5 (11:35):
This dude bless people, But you don't put it out there,
like nobody would ever know that you literally somebody a boat, right,
But but we I shared it instantly because I'm like, look,
this is the only guy.

Speaker 11 (11:48):
I'll say it selfishly.

Speaker 6 (11:49):
I appreciate that y'all do, but you'll never see me
doing it because I don't.

Speaker 11 (11:54):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (11:54):
Just it makes you really nervous, like you're not supposed
to brag about the things.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
That's not why you do it.

Speaker 11 (11:59):
And that's that's why.

Speaker 6 (12:00):
Yeah, it never wanted to come weird because so many
people face do it for the picture.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
But I would tell you you're the only artist, and I've
been doing this for a very long for You're one
of the only artists that that I know that has
done that just out of the goodness of your heart
and for nothing else.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Well, I needed a boat, and it was it.

Speaker 5 (12:20):
Was you can't skid past the music, like the songs
that you wrote on this new album, like you had one.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
I think you went out in the woods, you said,
and like you.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Wrote, Oh man, that's yeah, that's the man, that's the
tough one, Hardest Hunting Season.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
Please go check that out.

Speaker 6 (12:35):
It's a fure story. Do that with Jamie. Yeah, that's
that's that's a real one. But you know, it's like
I can write all over the board. I can write
Hardest Hunting Season and turn around the same afternoon and
write me and a beer. Just because music is easy.
Music is supposed to be fun. The minute it's not fun,
I'm quitting.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Yeah, I feel like you can write.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Was not gonna say something like that, Well, I don't
just do something this fun.

Speaker 11 (12:54):
There's something in your life you can find this fun.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
But you make your job, you go hunting, you make
it a living. I bet you did you get anything?

Speaker 6 (13:02):
I'm tagged out in Tennessee, but I'm scouting from an
artist hunting season.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
Check it out. It's Chris Jasin.

Speaker 11 (13:06):
Everybody here today, Thank you guys. I love you. Grandma
