Speaker 1 (00:00):
Randall king, what's up, buddy good man? I have been
full morning this morning. Yes, he brought the band with
you had to.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Man, mama's working, So that's gotta they gotta.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Take the nug I said.

Speaker 4 (00:10):
Everyone.

Speaker 5 (00:10):
That is a new marketing tactic because every woman is
going crazy. Not only do you have your daughter, she
is so cute, right, having fun?

Speaker 3 (00:19):
How's it been, How's how's the o's been? Grave?

Speaker 6 (00:22):
I hold no, it's incredible to be a father. It's
a it's a dream come true. And yeah, and that's
the best thing that's ever happened to me. And it's
been great bringing her out here because I'm like, you know,
look how longer she looks. Spend that single man and.

Speaker 7 (00:32):
Spend a time.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
It's a guilt. This is a guilt trip city, dude.

Speaker 5 (00:35):
Come on, you're gonna look back ten years from now
and she is going to be old enough to see
the pictures and all this stuff. Because I believe your
manager got one of like you and you're doing an
interview and the babies there, and it's gonna mean a lot,
because this is gonna be a day you don't forget.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
It's it's hard to ask you about anything. Other than
this baby. I know she steals a show.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
I feel like you walked off the yellows, don't. I
told Grandma the first time I'm at you, you took
your hat off. You're the guy that takes the hat off,
the country cowboy hat when your hands aren't full, and
I'm like, I had never seen that before, and it
meant so much.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
You're just such a good guy.

Speaker 6 (01:10):
Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
The one music question that I wanted to fit in,
because I know you've got a lot of people to
talk to you, is there's certain artists that the structure
of their following sometimes goes from all social media and
it's been a viral moment or whatever, and then there's
others that build it through live performances. I feel like
it's very clear and evident that your live performances have
built your following intentional. Surprised by it? Do you feel

(01:32):
like that's an accurate statement?

Speaker 6 (01:34):
Yeah, man, for sure, it was definitely intentional.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:37):
We looked at it from a ground up marketing standpoint. Yeah,
instead of instead of hey, let's you know there's some
labels out the little sign an artists and go okay,
we're gonna pick the song, go to radio and we're
going to build you.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Man.

Speaker 6 (01:48):
I knew who I was from the good go. Yeah
I'm from you didn't feel that ways, man. You know
we hit the ground running one hundred and thirty five
shows a year.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Yeah, I feel like the truck and those boots got
no tread on them because.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
You've you've been beating the page.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
We've been we've been knocking.

Speaker 6 (02:01):
We've been knocking it back, but yeah, we've been knocking
it back for a long time.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
King, dude, it's so cool. All my friends are going freak.
This is sick.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Songwriting changed since you've had the baby.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Oh absolutely. Uh.

Speaker 6 (02:13):
I mean I think before she was a warn and
we was certain to red songs are better and I
hadn't even met her.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
Yet, So it's life changing.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
People can tell you all about it until you have
a baby, and then it's like, oh my gosh, I'm
so in love and I can't believe my heart hasn't
exploded yet.

Speaker 6 (02:26):
My buddy always said he was man the first time
it was the first time you lay eyes on her,
he said, everything will change.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
True statements.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yeah, absolutely, we.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Can tell you all about it, Mike drop Randall.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
King, thank you so much for making time and doing
daddy's duty.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
She's like, I'll do that for free ticket price. Yeah,
and we're that milky daddy ninety six point on the cat.
Friend of the show, Spencer Hatcher just in studio.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Now we're in Nashville, Like really, really cool man, how's
everything treating? You performed yesterday and you're back today.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
It's away yesterday.

Speaker 8 (02:56):
Yeah, Well, it was an honor to be here, to
be able to perform for you all. I've been having
a ball, we've been on the road, and now we're
back in Nashville. So I'm glad to be here with
you all.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
I was blown away. So you met Graham. I was
not at the station when you came by. I'm texting
Graham while you're performing.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
Is that his brother? They look alike? And then when
you sang how great thou art?

Speaker 5 (03:15):
It was the most beautiful performance that I've heard, the
version that I've heard. You harmonize with your brother so well,
and it is an honor to see you and actually.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
Get to talk to you now.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Well, thank you so much.

Speaker 8 (03:26):
Yeah, me and Connor have been performing together for many,
many years, and he came on the road with me
when I started this country, this whole country career, and
he's never.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Looked back since. So we've been having a ball, for sure.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
I have family that's awesome.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Anes taking back to you and I got a chance
to talk about some difficult seasons in life, sir. What
has it been like to be able to do music,
express yourself creatively, but do it with family who is
also having those shared experiences in adversity, like has that
been healthy for you?

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Yeah? I definitely think it has been.

Speaker 8 (03:57):
I mean, having somebody there that you can trust and
you know so well all the time on the road,
you know, even for something as simple as giving him
tasks and having someone that's so trustworthy, it makes everything easier,
I believe, you know. And we're not the fighting kind
of brothers we were growing up, yeah, big time, but
now we're you know, we're in our mid twenties and

(04:17):
it's been great. It's been awesome.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
I love the way you highlighted him yesterday and you
shined on your band. But you mentioned that you had
a near death experience that the nurses couldn't believe that
you're still alive.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Do you mind sharing? Is it okay to share what happened?

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
I was up on my roof at my house.

Speaker 8 (04:34):
I was going up to work on the chimney and
I was about halfway up a ladder twenty six feet up,
and the feet shot out.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
From under me.

Speaker 8 (04:41):
I had nothing to grab on too. I just had
a fall, and so I fell twenty six feet, laying
it on my back. And the only reason I'm still
alive is because my head didn't touch the ground, which
is almost physically impossible. And that is the reason why
we know that when I was falling, God put his
hand under my head.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
I believe that got me down.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
And they're a medical marvel. You're a medical marvel, sir.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Did you break your back?

Speaker 3 (05:01):
No? But I did.

Speaker 8 (05:02):
I broke my pelvis in three areas, a chipped two
pieces of bone off, I had three broken ribs and
a pulmonary confusion on my right lung. I was airlifted,
so I was hurt.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
I mean that sounds terrible, But what you explained that fall,
God definitely had angels holding you, because there is no
way that's all that happened.

Speaker 8 (05:17):
No, I absolutely should have been killed immediately, and I wasn't.
And so God's got bigger plans for me.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Yes he does. And you know what I love. You're
a man's man. He's going up and cleaning the chimney.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Him special p sure, everybody awesome so much, thanks for
being here again, brother, thank you all so much.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
I appreciate you for your time.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
This, ma'am.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Thank you, Jake worths it. Hopefully the Carolina's treated you kindly.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Beautiful, beautiful. It's a great state. Man.

Speaker 7 (05:40):
I loved the hunting, the food and the people there.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
I waited on two first names and you delivered. Come home. Yeah, man,
that's so good. Hurtside Service Ship.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
We love your traditional country sound. It is amazing. Now
what when you hit the stage, what is this song
that comes to mind that your fans stick to the
most and just sink the first time that ever happened
where they're singing every sing the lyrics.

Speaker 7 (06:00):
Say you left man, and then uh, I mean these
days playing not like I used to. They seem to
get excited about. And the two first names, I like
that one too, sir.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
I think they're like every single one, but there's always
that one.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Yeah, it was good.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
So we're gonna do a little game with you. We're
gonna put you on the hot seat. We like to
call this pick and prey. You just gonna reach in there,
pick a little question.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Did you get you.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
Get a good He wrote these He wrote these questions
so if it's very scary to answer.

Speaker 7 (06:30):
Most embarrassing moment, mmm uh wow.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
So for me, I was out of eighth grade, PEPPERRELLI
tripped in front of the whole school, my eighth grade crush.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Everybody it trusted me forever. That was my most embarrassing moment.

Speaker 7 (06:46):
Man, I've done some embarrassing things. I've got to remember
the worst one.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
We'll take anything.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
We want the worst.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
I won't put them on the spot.

Speaker 7 (06:57):
Yeah, dang, buddy, Uh, we'll go one more.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Let's take a different let's do another here. Whoever wrote
those questions? Is it terribly one phone call to get
meat out of jail?

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Which our artist? Sorry calling Ernest, Ernest.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Right next to you, like you're sitting right next to you.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
Well, we appreciate your time. Also, No, no, yeah, Jake,
we appreciate it. Man, you're the best.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Thank you for you know, coming to Charlotte and then
any plans new music that you want to share.

Speaker 7 (07:27):
Yeah, we're going to be getting and cutting in a
few more songs for the record we just put out
yeah uh relation at the top of the year, and
then hopefully cutting another record next year in Texas.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Really, we'll keep us yep, keep us posted. We would
love to support you.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
I geeked out and yeah, we had our fan moment.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
I appreciate you man for bearing with.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
Mutual all right, and that's for you. You look amazing. You're
always stressed up every time we see you.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
You got to man, Cody Johnson, let's go Joe.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
In the definition of a rhetorical question, because you were
not on the list, you decided to come out of
the kindness of your heart. From what I'm hearing, Hey,
do you guys have time for Cody Johnson? Yeah, yes,
the definition of a rhetorical so thank you.

Speaker 9 (08:11):
No, we kept it a surprise. We wanted to surprise
Charlotte because we haven't planned on being here.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
You got four. I mean there's four nominations.

Speaker 9 (08:18):
And regardless of whether I'm playing shows right now or not,
you guys are playing my stuff on the radio. That
means come say thank you. Such a nice rest of
the artists out.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
There that didn't come right.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
What's also it's also a blessing for us because we
take this back to our community and so to be
able to share and you've said it really well today,
to pull the curtain back on the artists and the
human and the person behind the music they love. So
this is a nice moment for us, but not only
it's our our listener, our community.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
So thank you man.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Man, that's what it's all about anyway.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
It is.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
And even before your music, I fell in love with
their music.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
But I saw you at an award show and I
forget who the artist was, but you went to talk
to him and his wife and you took your hat off,
respecting her, and I was like, I'd never seen that,
And that's sad that I've never seen that before.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
It's sad that you've never seen that.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
Y real cowboy, and you really are genuinely a good person.
And you people can sing songs all the time, but
your music works because you're authentic and you're real and
the music sticks because yeah, I mean even on stage, dude,
you blow.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
I mean, this stage blows up.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Hopefully that gets a Centertainer of the Year.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Yeah, yeah, I'm how's recovery coming?

Speaker 2 (09:19):
It's coming along? Man, How are you dealing with it?

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Like, emotionally, how was it?

Speaker 9 (09:23):
I'm not patient, yeah at all, And it's but it's
one of those things that it requires patients because you
can't It's not like a torn bicep that you can.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Work out and rehab right, Like you just have to wait.
And how brutal has it been? Because obviously your personality
type that doesn't sync up.

Speaker 9 (09:38):
I just I try to really focus on like faith
and just saying that God has a plan.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
And maybe I was supposed to be home. You know,
we had our baby boy.

Speaker 9 (09:46):
I probably wouldn't have been around very much youngratual. I
had to cancel shows, So it's like what's really worth more?

Speaker 6 (09:52):
You know?

Speaker 9 (09:52):
You can look at it from a financial standpoint and
be like, man, you didn't get to go make money. Well,
look we're blessed, okay, Like I'm not going to the
poorhouse over this deal. None, I didn't have to fire anybody.
We're okay, And I want to go play shows in
front of people, but your ego talking and then but
you get to be home with your brand new baby
boy and your little girls and your wife. It's like
that's really what kind of matters anyway?

Speaker 5 (10:12):
You don't get that time back, and my mom always said,
if you don't slow down, the Lord's gonna slow you down.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
I think he did. Sometimes you get a burst ear drum.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
I think there's power in knowing what currency is, because
currency is different to different people. Time with family that's
a currency. Most people think money itself is just a currency.

Speaker 9 (10:27):
No, no, it's all about It's all about me and
my kids, man and my wife. Just getting to be
home and really be the real me. I've got to
do some deer hunting. Yeah, amazing work on the ranch.
We got some sold some cows, bought some cows, and.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
Well I got an you're looking for.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
We're honored that you made time and we appreciate. We
want to make sure that you came with everyone else.
But it was an honor and thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
Yeah, thank good luck on everything
