Julia Cole, Oh my gosh, it's so cool. Yeah, six Am,
just letting it rial.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
You gotta wake up and you know, get energy firstly
in the morning.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Yeah, it's an early show, but I got up at
four forty five, so I could kind.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
Of feel like I was a whig by the time
we sang.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
But it was fun.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
You made me cry first thing in the morning this
morning when you sing.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
This song about your dad.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yes, I was filming it and I sent it to
my dad and then he says, were you trying to
make me cry first thing this morning?

Speaker 4 (00:29):
I'm like, if I had to cry, you have to cry.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Yeah, both, thank you and I'm sorry tabby ruining your
makeup yet six Am Sheski the.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
First two interviews, She's like, I can't yet.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
She had to read, Well, you got me first with
the outfit because look at this is looking gorgeous and
the story that you're pat Paul.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
Is that what you call happy poppy? Yeah, this is all.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Fabric from Poppies old Western rear shirt. You know, he
gave it to me right before he passed away. And
every outfit I wear Poppies with me.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
I love that.

Speaker 5 (00:55):
So six Am, you performed here, which was great and amazing,
and we've posted clips from that, so we've got receipt.
What is the oddest as you come up because you
always hear stories people playing random things.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
I played a coffee shop. Have you played odd places?

Speaker 4 (01:07):
I have played some of the craziest place has ever?

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Please hit us?

Speaker 4 (01:11):
I think the wildest one is probably getting asked to
sing in Dubai. Well that sounds amazing, though we got
phoned to Dubai. But here's the kicker to sing the
American national anthem. A you're not the most absurd, Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Like an NBA game or something. It was the first.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Ever baseball game in the Middle East.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Yeah, nice, and so it was like abblepool host was there,
Like there were all these like Major League Baseball folks there,
and so I sang the American national anthem. Then they
had someone from there sing the UA national anthem, and
then they had me do a performance during the seventh
inning stretch that like broadcast all through the Middle East.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Now the national anthem when you were in a stadium
and you hear that echo, it's like a fifteen second delay,
right because that we did it in high school for
the Atlanta Braves.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
And I'm like, how do people do this? Is that
not hard for you? Like sing?

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Is that one of the hardest places to sing because
of the delay?

Speaker 3 (02:03):
I think because the anthems how I started because I
was doing national anthems for my own high school volleyball
and basketball.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
How I got into music, Like I wasn't doing music
before that. Some threes up just nice.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Volleyball is my favorite though, but but yeah, so anthems
are how I started, and so yes, it's it's a
hard song, but I think I did it so many
times for all my own games that it's one of
those songs that I.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
Can I'm just kind of comfortable do it.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Well.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
I love your energy, I love your music, and I
love you.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
I can't wait for you to come to Charlotte. Thank
you so much, and.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
Oh everyone, thank you so much for making time what
my baby wants my baby gets.

Speaker 6 (02:44):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 5 (02:45):
So I just got to hear the backstory of that
and then the music when you go home, like do
you run everything by because you're you're your Instagram is amazing, by.

Speaker 6 (02:54):
The way, Thank you.

Speaker 7 (02:54):
Yeah, that lying man, money maker. It's crazy because my
wife loved it. Of course it was kind of a
funny song.

Speaker 8 (03:06):
So I was just like, I'll like it. I mean,
it's fine, and I'll see what happens. I personally just
didn't think that it would do what it's doing. And
then the next morning I woke up and I had
like two million views and I.

Speaker 6 (03:16):
Was like, uh, okay.

Speaker 8 (03:18):
So I was like, so I went and shot a
bunch of content that day. I started leaking it and
it's just it's been crazy.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
So I don't judge me for this.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
I'm judging already.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
She's very, very good with the marketing things or building
up stories. Great storyteller.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
I saw the Hey if you got a high maintenance woman,
and so it me. I was like, where's this going
and trying to like so the turn is amazing.

Speaker 8 (03:41):
Whenever you have truth, So okay, you know, I mean
I think anyone can, even if your woman doesn't spend
your money.

Speaker 6 (03:47):
I think you're like, yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
At the door.

Speaker 6 (03:51):
It's not a stab at women, but it's just funny. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
So, whenever you have new music and you're putting out
a new album, do you run all those songs by
your wife and ask her what are your favorites?

Speaker 3 (04:01):
No?

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Women know the best ones.

Speaker 6 (04:03):
I always let her listen.

Speaker 8 (04:05):
But I've wrote over a thousand songs, so to her,
it's like, you know, just I can't explain it, but
I'm sure that if you were in the like imagine
coming home every day and searing a song like yeah,
you don't care anymore. Yeah, I'm more excited to show
her than she's excited to hear it about her.

Speaker 6 (04:23):
No, that was or even worse, like it's like.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Yeah, well that's when she asked. She was like, write
a song.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
I mean I've been writing, which.

Speaker 8 (04:30):
I know, but she knows I'm a songwriter, so she
knows that I'm doing my job.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
You know.

Speaker 8 (04:35):
It's like, well, I'd probably have to do it like
and not rhyme and be like really out there for
her to be like, oh my gosh.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
Yeah, as an outsider that's been watching this real story
to pick up speed, has there been a call that
you've been like, oh that was super dope, someone picking
it because I love the community of country music that
been encouraging you as any any artists come to mind
or any one of your peers being like, hey man,
that's really love what you're doing.

Speaker 6 (04:56):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (04:57):
Darius Rutger, Uh, I mean I grew up a big
here hoodie fan. He's came on my bus one time.
I was like super thankful and thank and we went
out gambling. And Tyler Hoover has always been good. Sam Hunt,
I've had a lot of good times with Hammers. I
mean everybody, man, Country music is just a family. Yeah, yeah,
that's super awesome.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
Well thanks for making me this is awesome.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Thank you, George Birds one of our favorite human beings.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Yes, family guys.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Likewise, I do want to say thank you.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
So I've gotten into this thing where like my mom
will get get on me about.

Speaker 6 (05:28):
So when you getting married? When are you doing this?

Speaker 1 (05:30):
To pull up my phone?

Speaker 5 (05:31):
Never, I pull up my favorite songs, I hit George
Birds and I just put it on.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
It won't be long, that's right.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
I'm doing all the congratulations night. That was a big night.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
And I love to see you and your wife celebrating
this song you wrote about her win an award.

Speaker 9 (05:48):
So as CAP Awards last night, celebrating songwriters. And there
were a lot of people in that room that taught
me how to write songs that made me fall in
love with country music and to get honored myself with
cowboys songs being one of the most played songs of
the year at country radio and number one is cool,
but to have it be one of the biggest number
ones of the year and a song about I wrote
about chasing my wife across Sixth Street, it was it

(06:09):
was pretty incredible. Yeah, pretty incredible.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
She's gorgeous. If I was a man, I chased her across.

Speaker 9 (06:13):
We celebrated big time last night. She is way out
of my league. So yeah, well, you did well for yourself.
And then you mentioned being in rooms like this, your
peers are here. What's it been like the last year,
Because it's it's it's a journey that song does well
and your building, you get to play, you get to
talk about it, peers, audience, like what stood out to
you for the life of that over the last twelve months.
I think it's just feeling comfortable in my own skin

(06:34):
out here.

Speaker 6 (06:35):
You know.

Speaker 9 (06:36):
The first one of these I came to, I felt
like I didn't belong here. You know, there were so
many people that I've watched on TV or heard on
the radio my whole life, and being like, how the
heck did I stumble here? And now, you know, having
stories with these guys, having shared experiences on the road,
knowing each other's families, just feeling like I'm actually part
of the country community. It turns out it's a pretty
small world and everybody's super friendly, and hopefully I'll stick

(06:59):
around for a while, man, because I like it here.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Yeah, we are so authentic, And I was just saying
that to someone else about you, as like, once you
meet George Bird, you feel like you've known him your
whole life.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
And I love.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Following your family on Instagram and your Halloween outfits.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
We're so cute.

Speaker 9 (07:13):
Mile of wife and my kids love to celebrate holidays
and my youngest is a Halloween he just he so
he was Jack Skellington, painted his face up. My son
wanted to be the headless Horseman, so he couldn't even
see him head in the picture. You just had these
big shoulder pads, and then my wife had and I
had to embarrass him a little bit.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
We were six seven for Halloween, so it was good.

Speaker 6 (07:32):
Incredible man.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
It's so good to see your congratulations on all the success.

Speaker 9 (07:36):
You are a huge part of my story and I
always love getting to come visit, so thank you, well,
thank you, George.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Let's go. Friend of the Show, Dylan Scott good, you
are the worst.

Speaker 6 (07:47):
Come on always.

Speaker 10 (07:49):
I didn't put anything on this morning, so here we go. Serious.
My wife tell her that, like this just smells naturally good.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
I'm very disappointed. All these the guys are coming through
and now one person not on column yet.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
And you know what, maybe it's like I don't know, maybe.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Your laundry detergent.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
Oh I bet that's what it is, really strong, give
your flowers here for a second. You and I have
been friends for a very long time. I have seen hills, peaks,
valleys all. What's been the key to the consistency of
like just still putting music out, staying positive. Every time
I've ever been around you, you couldn't be nicer, couldn't be
more respectful, But like, what's the key to that? Because
you've you've put in hours? Yeah, we put the hours in.

(08:25):
You know you talked about valleys. We've been down in ditches, man,
We've been in the low as you can get. But
you know what, be honest with you.

Speaker 10 (08:31):
I think once I started having kids and realized what
life was really about, and it's not about oh I
got to be this or be that. It's like, oh,
I just got to be a good dad and be
a good husband, just be a good human being.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Yeah, that's quit worrying about it, man. It's like that's
when things start kicking off for you. I felt like,
well it worked. Even if it wasn't, it was a
great strategy. We've had fun. I'll tell you that we've
had fun.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Yeah, I haven't seen you.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
You were in Charlotte a long time ago and you
were with Dylan Marlow and I remember talking to you
about your kids and where they went to cool because
I used to live in Nashville and our kids went
to the same spot.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
But there's a video of you and your wife.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
You were on the bus and you were asking her
about your pants and you're like, honey, are these pants
too tight?

Speaker 1 (09:09):
And then she was like yeah, they were too tight.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
And then you're like, but I love that you go
to your wife for fashion advice.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
I want to this morning.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
You did absolutely put your fit together.

Speaker 10 (09:20):
She kind of did, yeah, in a way, well this
is not what I had on. When I asked her,
She's like, well, I think those jeans are a little
too light. I was like, well, all I got cleaned
some khakis.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
So here we was here. We are like you look great.
So what's the week looked like for you? I imagine
what the success There are more options to do things.
Are you able to kind of pick and choose what
you want to go do?

Speaker 10 (09:40):
I am okay, Yeah, I may make people mind, yeah
by not doing somethings.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Yeah, we appreciate it. Yeah, that's what's cool about it.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Man.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
It's like back in the day, you kind of get
told what to do. Right. Of course. I remember sitting
in a barbecue joint with you at twelve o'clock when
I knew it was just me and you.

Speaker 10 (09:55):
Yes, sir, I remember that. I do some Yeah, I
do love that you start having some number ones and
you get to do what you want to do a
little bit. So today's busy, tomorrow's a little busy, and
then I'm just gonna go deer hunting the rest of.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
It's amazing funny because I know that last time I
talked to you, we're big into hunting it.

Speaker 10 (10:10):
Well, I am big and hunt. But I'll tell you what,
this year, my little boy's really big into it.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Oh he's eight.

Speaker 10 (10:16):
I've had more fun this year so far hunting with
him for myself. No, let me tell you why we
could have. He's like, Dad, I want a big buck.
I said, Budd, you gotta have put some work in
for a big buck. And he said, I'm ready. I'll
do it. And we've been doing it. We've been grinding.

Speaker 7 (10:31):
He gets that big post on social we will scott everybody.
