Speaker 1 (00:00):
Iran Venezuela and the public humiliation of Federal Reserve Chairman
Jerome Powell.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
All that and more. Today I'm the Walton Johnson Show.
Looks like we got us a show. We got a show,
bro showtime. Hi.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
Everybody thinks for turning on your radio, it's Tuesday morning.
It is New Year's Eve eve, so that's cool, we
got that going on. Some of you are already drunk
right now based on our email. Ben, I'm so lucky
you're really excited about tomorrow night. Oh yeah, calm calm down, everybody,
very very yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Gotta get through today first. Don't just overlook today.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
You know, for some people this will be their last day.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
No, I mean it could be.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Oh you mean like some people will die today, sadly
hopefully nobody we're talking to right now.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
I think it happens every day. Every day.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Every day, somebody dies and probably did not expect to
when they got up that morning.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
So don't overlook today, you know, getting excited about tomorrow night,
New Year's Eve and all that, so you enjoy this one.
We don't know how many of these days we got left. Steve.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
I am often humbled by your wisdom and I ask
you this based Look, I like Trump. We all agree
we like Trump right before we get into the whether
he's doing right or wrong here, Okay, has there ever
been a time in this century where American troops boots
on the ground And I'm sure there's an example, But
American troops boots on the ground in a foreign country

(01:32):
with a hostile leader has worked out well for say,
the average person living a middle class life in Waco.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Probably not.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
You know, I don't know of the situation exactly, but
it's not about us and the individual.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Because I'm like, we're not some wimpristed liberal morning show
or this is an NPR. We're very pro troops, the military.
I like a big, strong military. I'm happy spend a
lot of our budget on that if nothing else.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
You know that in NASA obviously, well sure, sure gotta
have NASA. But boots on the ground.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
And what a Venezuelan tanker now we've heard, yeah, And
they won't explain if it's the military or the CIA,
although you and I both know it's kind of the
same thing. The CIA be the intelligence wing of our Pentagon.
How many of those tankers have we confiscated?

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Now? Is that three more than yeah, there's more than one.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Yeah, I do remember the second one right around Christmas.
And you know, it's hard to keep up with the news.
Most people don't know what day it.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Is this time of year because I think Venezuela sucks
and I don't like communism or socialism or Marxism. I
don't like all their refugees coming here. But one of
the things I've heard from a handful of my you know,
I have some friends on the right who are nice
guys to drink with, but they don't always know what
they're talking about. They'll say, Kenny, one way to get
rid of all these Venezuelan refugees in our country is

(02:59):
to start are in their country. It's like, well, did
that happen in Afghanistan or Iraq or Yemen or Iran?

Speaker 2 (03:07):
No?

Speaker 1 (03:07):
No, no, And all those times they sent, uh, send more,
send more refugees here?

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Okay, what about Vietnam? I don't know. Just how far
back do you want to go? Here? Right? Like? I
get it.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
You know, if we went to war with Sweden, we'd
have a lot of blonde chicks with bikinis.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
And what they something to think about.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
I'm not anti Venezuelan latinas. I'm not against it, you know,
but it's uh, all right, it's too early for massage,
and everybody, I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
We're up to thirty drug boat strikes that I'm fine with. Yeah, yeah,
I don't care about that. Blow them up. They're bringing
boats here filled with drugs.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Yeah, it's because those are biological weapons, right, it's it's
a biochemical it is. There's no practical use for fentanyl,
there's no I mean, you and I both know there's
a medicinal fentanyl they use in surgery and operation, but
that's not what's being sold on the streets.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Right. We were in during two years ago, obviously everybody knows.
We go to.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Colorado a lot and one of the people on our team,
we'll just say it was Preline, had to go to
the hospital, remember, and they gave her fentanyl and we
were fascinated by that.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Oh can you have that? And can the rest of
us get some?

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Yea and will well the way it was explaining us,
We're like, is that safe? That we've only heard bad
things about fentanyl. They this isn't the same fentanyl. It's
not the same fentanyl. Now, the fentanyl they're selling on
the streets is being manufactured in Mexico by some guy
named Pablo in a warehouse somewhere with chemicals you bought
from the Chinese Communist Party. And that's this stuff was

(04:37):
created in a laboratory in Berkeley by a guy named
Stuart or some Jewish guy or you know who knows.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
It's like, all right, so it's not the same thing. Fine,
but all finnyl is the bad fentanyl.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Okay, right exactly, But anyway, blow up the fentanyl boats
the stuff no offence. Pablo or Wang or whatever the
name is, that the guy who's making it. But we
don't want that here, you know, blow it up. Not
that there couldn't be a scientist named Pablo or Wang
and Burke all of course, I probably are, or even Jerome.
I'm sure there's a Jerome, probably a Jerome Powell. The

(05:11):
reason Jerome is in the news today is Trump has
not made a secret of the fact that he's not
a fan. And it goes pretty far back right that
they have been a got a little cross with each other.
Do you every think about how funny it is that
he's the whitest guy in America with the blackest name.
I mean, I know, it's just speaking the obvious here.

(05:33):
We could have pointed that out eight years ago. But yeah,
it's still funny, right is that is? Hey, here comes Jerome. Oh,
Jerome's coming, Jerome Powell, and then the door opens.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Hey, what's up, guys, Yeah, you're Jerome.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
We were remembering because Jerome Powell is in the news
this morning. He's on his way out, whether it's you know,
his choice or Trump's. And we were remembering back to
the summer when Trump put on a hard hat and
walked the new building that was under construction with Jerome Powell.

(06:07):
It was supposed to be for him at the time,
and Trump didn't didn't think the building was was going right.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
The Federal Reserve's ongoing renovation of its DC headquarters, estimated
to cost at least two point five billion dollars according
to Trump upwards of three point five is considered to
be the most expensive, potentially the most expensive building project.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
They're not starting from the ground up either.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
There's a building that they're just renovating it, and it
costs more than building it from scratch, just starting from nothing.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
They say, the most expensive renovation ever for a Federal building.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
YadA, YadA, YadA.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Let's pretend to that's even remotely true, right, because everything's
always exaggerated in terms of government numbers. Isn't that right
on brand for the Federal Reserve?

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Oh? Absolutely?

Speaker 3 (06:58):
And I remember Trump pulling out the pay or from
his inside jacket pocket while they were strolling through the
work site and he broke some news to Jerome that
he didn't really care for, and I'm not sure he believed.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Back on July twenty fourth, Trump is walking the he's
surveying the site of the Federal Reserve renovation. You could
say Trump's unqualified to handle Iran, or you know, the
drug crisis, or Jewish relations on college campuses. Whatever, you
could say he's unqualified for. The one thing you cannot
say is that Trump is unqualified to go and observe

(07:34):
a real estate project. Yeah, He's walking around the hard
hat on standing there with Jerome Powell, and he explains
how much it costs, and Jerome has this look on
his face like he just found out his wife was
sleeping with the pool boy.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
He doesn't just look what.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
And Trump tells him how expensive and he's like, that's
not true. And then Trump takes the paper out of
his inner pocket.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
I had it with him the whole time, the only
thing in his pocket. He went up a little bit
or a lot.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
The two point seven is now three point one.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Yeah, it just came out there, It goes, Oh, I
got it right here. I haven't heard that from anybody
for bet came.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
He's got the paperworkout. He's unfolding it. Jerome looks to
Meli at it. He's shaking his head. No, he's getting
his glasses out. He's panicking.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Let's just see what this Trump's showing him. Oh no,
right here, you're cleaning the Martin renovation. You just added
Firepital and then you just had you just added in
the third buildings. What that is. That's a third building.
It's a building that's being built. It's all it's full
part of the same group.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
He said, Well, we already finished working on that a
couple of years ago. He said, yeah, that's part of
the project. You don't get to dismiss the cost of
that just because you finished that part of it already.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
And Trump is right, yes, he is.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
Anyway, I gotta tell you, I think of all the
presidents we've had, my memory anyway, I think Trump probably
has the most experienced walking a construction site, oh for sure,
of a large building like that one, for example.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
All right, more on this coming up.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Oh, our special guest this morning will be Jerome Powell's
wife's pool boys stick around for.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
The Surfy for Porn Tuesday, Walton and Johnson Radio Network.
Oh look out, there's an oak tree in a way. Yeah.
Oh that's not good. Amen to that, you know.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Quick reminder, folks, great way to celebrate New Year's Eve
this year is don't drive drunk or steal a car.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
It might ruin your night. Well, who is planning on
stealing a car?

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Okay, So this news story we're about to share with
everybody is ultra local, but you're you're gonna want to
whether you're in Memphis or Georgia.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Believe me, this is fascinating.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
You have this type in your town too, if you
don't happen to live where we live in Houston.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
In fact, this woman kind of reminds me of a
politician from Chicago or Louisiana. No offense, sure, yeah, Louisiana
or Chicago. Meet Carla Wyatt. Carla Wyatt is the treasurer
of Harris County. Harris County is the biggest county in Texas,
third biggest county in America. It's a pretty big place.
She's in charge of the money, and she just got arrested.

(10:15):
She was accused of breaking into a vehicle on Saturday,
burglary of an automobile. Charged with burglary of a motor vehicle. Now,
I would think this would be a felony. Apparently it's
a misdemeanor.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Huh. I think maybe they should make that a felony.
I certainly wouldn't want my motor vehicle burglarized.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
I would think the same thing.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Now, not the first time she's been arrested for a
vehicle related crime in.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
The last two year or two, goodness gracious.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Holly Hanson, local journalist Friend of the Show, reports that
she was arrested and charged with a DUI in twenty
twenty three. Look, everyone makes mistakes, but you got to
admit for a public official a dui and burglary of
a vehicle in the same So did she the car
or the stuff out of the car?

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Here, you know, she's got court on Friday, so there's
still some details to unpack here. But why it broke
into a vehicle with the intent to commit theft. According
to the Core documents, she'd been arrested before charged with
the dui back at twenty twenty three. Prosecutors stated her
blood alcohol concentration level was at least point one point five.
That's that's a little high, more than it's supposed to be. Right, Yeah,

(11:26):
you even point oh something can be above the limit. Now,
as if the burglary of the vehicle and the dui
was enough, here's a couple more. She violated her bond
conditions twice during that case. Twenty twenty four January failed
to install an interlock device, you know, the breathalyzer.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
I think that's what that is, Okay, I think. I
don't know.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
I never had an interlock device, but I'd love to
own one someday.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Yeah. Well, you know, your dreams may still true and
I don't.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
But the second was in March twenty twenty four, when
she blew a point oh nine to two. It's on
the on the interlocked device. The bond condition violation report
states that's why she had to remove it. The charger
was working. She had to get it out of there.
The charge was dismissed after she completed a pre trial
diversion program. Anyway, I will find out more about this

(12:14):
on Friday. I was a local politician who do you
think was responsible for her election? Who voted for this
woman who did not really look or seem qualified to
run the county treasury?

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Well, you know, it's funny you bring that up.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
The County Treasury website states that she is not only
the first African American, but the first African American woman
to be elected in this role. That's all we needed
to know, she says, and I quote, I'm just going
to read what she said. My view of success in
this particular role is to be a role model for
those people who are coming behind me, said Wyatt at

(12:51):
the time. So for other, according to her, black women
who want to be the county treasurer, I guess one
way to be like her would be to drive drunken
steal stuff.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
It looks like role model for sure. By the way,
does she have a black tear drop tattoo right under
her eye? By any change? She does not have any
face tattoos. Okay, she's working her way towards that though.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
But since she brought it up, if she was a rapper.
This would be great for her career as far as
being a public official, though, I got to think.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
This is a little less great.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
It is no ideal in terms of re election status
or it is.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
I don't know this on Tuesday. It's only Tuesday. Tuesday
is another one of my trigger works. Yeah, I know,
I know. Walton and Johnson Radio Network
