Speaker 1 (00:10):
The following takes place between seven pm and eight pm.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
All right, let's get to it. Seven oh seven, seven
hundred WLW Welcome in, all right, El Carrier Sports Talk
presented by Kelsey Chevrolet. I'm Lance mccalmister may, and I
am glad you are here. Just one hour to work with.
I need three, I've only got one. So let's get
to it. This is gonna be a lot of Bengals conversation.
It will include and seek out your input as well.
(00:47):
At five one, three, seven four nine, seven thousand, one
eight hundred the Big One. Let's go forty eight hours,
about forty eight make it forty nine hours and twelve
minutes from right now, the Bengals are gonna play a
football game national TV Division rival Baltimore Ravens. Joe Burrow
is going to return as the Bengals starting quarterback. You
(01:10):
know what he's been through. You know the Bengals one
loss record. Right now, you know where they sit in
the standings and where they sit in the picking order
of the playoffs in terms of hopes and dreams and
the odds of them making the playoffs. The question has
been for a while, going back to last week play
Joe Burrow, Sit Joe Burrow. He returns on Thursday Night,
(01:35):
or he returns in some people's minds week one of
next season. What's it gonna be? That's what I want
to talk about. You and me talking about that. You're
gonna hear from Joe Burrow. You're gonna hear from Zach Taylor.
You're even gonna hear from Jamar Chase today before we
are done at eight o'clock and a hand things off
to the Scott Ciderfield Show. I'm so excited about this,
(01:56):
and I've got so little time to do it. I'm
skipping the headlines right off the back. I'll drop in
some headlines along the way, but I want to get
to this. Joe Burrow spoke with the media earlier this
afternoon against the backdrop of the idea that the Bengal
should put him on ice, protect him, don't play him.
See you next year. Joe Burrow was asked why he's
(02:18):
going to play Thursday Night. Take a listen to what
he said.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
I'm a football player.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
I get paid a lot of money to go and
play a game with my friends, and we work really hard,
and you know, it's intense and there's jobs on the line,
but at the end of the day, it's a game,
and I've worked hard to put myself in this position
and get as healthy as I can be to go
out and play with these guys, and that's something I
wanted to do.
Speaker 5 (02:45):
What are your thoughts when people say you're the franchise,
you're the most important player in organization, and you should
do to protect him.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
For next year and going forward, be how mad?
Speaker 4 (02:56):
So I understand why people feel that way, but you
look at it from my perspective. I'm a football player,
and if I get hurt, I'm gonna go through the
rehab process, and then I'm gonna let everybody know when
I feel like I can go out there and play.
I don't really know what else to say about that.
I'm not gonna ever go to somebody and say, yeah,
(03:19):
I'm healthy, but I don't think I don't think I
should go out there and play. That doesn't make a
lot of sense to me. I'm not gonna live my
life and play this game scared of something happening, like, yeah,
something's gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
It's football.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
Guys are gonna get hurt. Guys are gonna get concussions.
You're gonna break bones, tear ligaments. It's a physical, intense game.
That's that's part of this. And yeah, I've had injuries.
It's not a lot I can do about that. I
work really hard to have that not happen. But what
I can do is when it does happen, I can
control how I'm attacking my rehab and attacking practice and
(03:53):
doing everything in my power to get back as quickly
as possible.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
That's what I did, Joe Burrow earlier today. I'm a
football player. If I get hurt, I'll rehab, I'll come back.
I really don't know what else to say about that,
said QB One. I'm not the type who's gonna say
I'm healthy, but I'm not gonna play. He said, it
(04:19):
doesn't make a lot of sense. I can't live life scared.
Joe Burrow starts Thursday night. I would like you to
weigh in on this. I've asked in poll question form
on Twitter x Atlance Pacallister this question going back to yesterday.
(04:41):
And there is nothing better when you do what I
do than like a coin flip. Response fifty to fifty.
Right now, it is running forty eight percent, say yes,
play them on Thursday night. Fifty two percent say no,
don't play them on Thursday night. Which one are you?
Joe Burrow started ramping up last week, was limited and
(05:02):
then was a full go, went seven on seven, eleven
to eleven, was full go. Didn't wind up playing short
turnaround had he played on Sunday to this week? He
was asked the significance, the importance, what last week meant.
Here's Joe Burrow.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
It felt good. I needed it.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Felt good to get some live reps both scout team,
man first team, and I think that will serve me
well this week, having a full week where you know
you're expecting to play and you're going through your preparation like.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Like you're gonna play and then it doesn't happen.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
So but it's good to have that under your belt
to then going to this week where you're not going
to get a ton of full speed reps because it's
a Thursday night against the team that played a million times.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Joe Burrow earlier today. So the follow up question is
went through it last week? Why Thursday night? Why Thanksgiving
Night against the Baltimore Ravens. Here's Joe.
Speaker 6 (06:00):
Number one.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
It's a division game.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
I got a lot of respects for the people on
the opposite side of the ball, but when you play people.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Twice a year, you get tired of him. You don't
like him.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
It's a division rivalry. You got respect for him, but
it's intense out there. It's something I wanted to be
out there for playing on Thanksgiving, something I've always wanted
to do that I've pushed for in the past, and
the NFL gave it to us, and then you know,
the injury happened and thought I wasn't gonna be able
to play, and then as we got closer, I felt
like it was a real possibility.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
So that's exciting to me. It's a national stage to go.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Out and improve yourself again after not playing for several weeks,
and every opportunity that you get to go improve all
the hard work that you've put in the type of
player you are is something that I try to take
advantage of.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Joe was asked if he believes, based on how he feels,
if he'll be able to do what he would normally
do in terms of movement and action on the football field,
and if he's considered approaching his playing style from a
different standpoint doing it in a different manner. Here's Joe Burrow.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
We'll see, we'll see.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
I think I'm I'm feeling good, good enough to go
out there and move and extend. Obviously pick my spots
when to do that and when not to, but I
feel confident that in certain moments I'll be able to
do that.
Speaker 7 (07:22):
Is there something that you thought about maybe I'd like
to play a little bit differently? Have you assessed how
you might like to play as a quarterback?
Speaker 8 (07:28):
Roverboard?
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Does that change it?
Speaker 9 (07:29):
All?
Speaker 3 (07:30):
You think about a lot of different things.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
Number One, you have time to think about them, and
you know, you watch a lot of games across the league,
and you see who's playing well, who's not, what's working schematically?
Speaker 3 (07:41):
What isn't you evaluate everything?
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Joe Burrow earlier today, All right, Joe, let's open up
those lines. I want to know what you think. Where
do you fall on the coin flip question? Right now
that everybody's talking about play Joe Burrow, don't play Joe,
he's playing. Would you play him Thursday night? I absolutelytely would.
He's worked his tail off to make it back to
(08:06):
be with his teammates. He's gone through the grind. What
did he say? I'm a football player, he's healthy, he's
medically cleared, he's progressed through all stages of rehab, and
then practice players play. He said, you can't live your
life scared. I can't wait to see Joe Burrow play
(08:30):
Thursday Night. Your call's next five one, three, seven, four nine,
seven thousand, one eight hundred. The big one. You hear
from Zach Taylor ahead on what he expects out of
Joe Burrow and if he plans to coach him any
differently in terms of perhaps trying to avoid injuries. That
is next. RNL Carrier Sports Talk presented by Kelsey Chevrolet
seven hundred WLW seven twenty one, seven hundred WLW RNL
(08:58):
Carrier Sports Talk present buy Kelsey Chevalle. I'm Lance Pacallister,
Joe Wadell producing tonight. We thank you for listening. Stick
around top of the air of the Scott's Sadderfield Show.
I am on X at lancemcallister Twitter to some question
I asked earlier today. If you aren't comfortable and or
are afraid of Joe Burrow getting hurt Thursday night, what
(09:20):
is the date you would no longer be worried. You know,
Joe said, I'm not the type who's going to say
I'm healthy, I don't want to play, He said, it
doesn't make a lot of sense to me. You can't
live life scared players play. Joe Burrow is making over
fifty million dollars this year. He's their best player. He's
(09:43):
among a handful of the best players in the NFL.
Do you know that Joe Burrow has played six quarters
of football since January fifth? Six for the crowd that
wants to see him next in Week one of next year?
Can you imagine Joe Burrow playing a grand total of
six quarters of football in nineteen months? If he doesn't
(10:08):
play the rest of this year and plays Week one
in September of next year, that will be a span
of nineteen months since his last the last game of
the twenty twenty four season six quarters Week one this
year and the first half of Week two six quarters
(10:29):
in nineteen months for Joe Burrow. There are still six
games left in this season. That's thirty Butler math, thirty
five percent of the season remains. Are you really part
of the fifty percent on one side of the coin that
says you don't want him to play this season. Zach
(10:51):
Taylor was asked yesterday what he expects to see out
of Joe Burrow Thursday night.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
Difficult to predict. You know, it has been several months,
and so again I'm not gonna make any predictions on
what it looks like. But again, he's put himself in
great shape. It's good to see him through the progression
that we've had over the last several weeks. I think
it was a fair progression for him to do the
seven on seven, do the eleven on eleven, get your
mind right, to try to get ready to play in
a game, and then ultimately we'll wait and see where
he lands. But I think it's been a really good
(11:19):
progression that's been helpful for him and done everything he
can and we can to get him ready to go
playing a game.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Now, understand as I say this, and I can't wait
to see him on Thursday night, I will be holding
my breath every time he drops back. I will hold
my breath. I'll admit that. But again I'm going to
defer to the man who's gone through the grind to
work his tail off to come back, who's been medically cleared,
(11:48):
has advanced and cleared all the hurdles in practice, wants
to play is their best player, and there's six games
left in the season now. I think what will be
interesting is how Zach approaches it, how Joe approaches it
in terms of are the plays any different. Does Joe
(12:10):
maybe give up on plays a little bit earlier rather
than trying to extend him. Does he do a little
bit more Joe Flacco plays not there, throw it away?
Or does he do what Joe has always been about,
trying to create something, hold on to it. That last
second move, slide left one more beat, Maybe Jamar can
(12:30):
get open and make a play. Zach was asked about
coaching Joe differently upon his return. Take a listen.
Speaker 5 (12:40):
Difficult to predict. You know, it has been several It's
a great question. There's a balance there of obviously him
coming off of injury. You want to be very mindful
of that, and that a lot of that will be
up to him as he feels his pocket movement and
his play style. Those are decisions that he's going to
have to feel out as he goes forward. And sure,
(13:00):
I'd love to say, you know, let's let's be productive
and not put him in an environment where that's gonna happen.
But you get out there in the football field, and
that's that's why it's gonna take shape, especially on third downs,
especially in no in passing situations. It's the NFL. He
can't go out there with with kid gloves on and
say we're never gonna let this happen. It's some things
are gonna happen naturally, and it'll be in his hands
to take care of it if he's out there.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Zach Taylor yesterday talking about QB one who returns on
Thursday night. Let's head of the phones, Bobby, what do
you want Thursday night? Joe or no Joe.
Speaker 8 (13:34):
Lance?
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Thanks for taking my call. My friend.
Speaker 9 (13:37):
I tell you he needs to play, period.
Speaker 8 (13:41):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
Tell me, tell me tell me why?
Speaker 8 (13:47):
Well, I tell you what.
Speaker 6 (13:48):
Bo.
Speaker 9 (13:48):
Jackson's birthday is the thirtieth.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
I thank everybody before the game. Need to send him
a you know, nice birthday car to sign it for
and get the curse off of him.
Speaker 8 (13:57):
Gonna let Joe play, all.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Right, I'll look into that. I thank you for calling, Bobby.
Let's go to Middletown leanne on seven hundred w l W.
Joe plays or Joe.
Speaker 8 (14:08):
Six jour needs to journeys to wait a little bit.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
How long should he wait?
Speaker 8 (14:23):
Maybe first second week in December?
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Okay? How did what? What do you think is the
difference between playing Thursday night and waiting two weeks?
Speaker 8 (14:35):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Is?
Speaker 8 (14:37):
Actually it's just it's just a good sailing. It's it's
hard to explain that. I'm he's so accident prone that Well.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
What does that mean? What? What has he done? I mean?
Do you okay?
Speaker 8 (14:53):
Well? Well, yeah, yeah, I stare people are like that.
I hope he's okay that I'm gone. Just I am
a little worried.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
You and me both, Lee and thank you. Look, I
understand the cons of this. I've laid out the pros.
I can give you some cons. The last thing he
or the Bengals need is another injury and another rehab
in uncertainty. There's a lot of uncertainty with this team,
especially going into the offseason. How the heck are they
going to improve the defense? Yeah, it's got a little
bit better the last couple of weeks. It's got to
(15:26):
take gigantic strides and upgrade the talent on this roster
in the offseason. The last thing you need is the
added uncertainty of an offseason with your quarterback. I get that.
I get the argument. The season's basically over. They're three
and eight, they've lost what eight of nine? They started too,
and oh they handled the fast part too, and oh
and now they've they've lost them. They've lost eight of nine.
(15:50):
ESPN gives him about a ten percent chance of making
the playoffs. I've heard the argument they've got nothing to
play for. Well, Zach said it yesterday. Winning is important.
You know, they've got six games left. It's not one game,
it's not two. They've got six games left in the season.
(16:12):
I've heard the argument, they'll hurt their draft order right now,
they would draft eighth. Winning drops them potentially outside the
top ten, and they need impact players. And hey, he's
not gonna play Thursday night. Why run Joe out there
without one of his top weapons. I've heard the argument, well,
there's always that false hope. Watch them win six in
(16:36):
a row, and then the organization will choose to stand
pat because they'll believe everything is fine. Which is it,
play Joe, sit Joe. Let's keep in mind, the offensive
(16:56):
line has been better, the run games has been better,
Joe Burrow's coming back to an offensive line that only
allowed one sack on Sunday. In fact, Joe Goodbery Bengals
and the Brain points out the Bengals offensive line sack
percentage this year is its lowest since twenty fourteen. Twenty fourteen.
(17:20):
Offensive line protecting quarterbacks the running game. Right now, they're
averaging four point four yards to carry. That would be
their best average of the Zach Taylor era, best since
twenty eighteen. So you've got your best player healthy. He's
been medically cleared. He would come back to a situation
(17:42):
where the offensive line is protecting and the offensive line
is blocking. I can't wait till Thursday Night five one three,
seven four nine, seven thousand one, eight hundred, the Big One,
fifty to fifty right now, Yes to Joe playing? No
to Joe play. Join our conversation. We'll continue afternoons. RNL

The Buckeyes all over Mount Saint Mary's sixty to twenty eight. Meanwhile,
Wright State with about a minute to go in the

(20:07):
Yakubo's time with FC Cincinnati has apparently come to a close.
He wrote on Instagram today quote, I'm grateful for every memory,
every cheer, and every person who made these six years
so special. Cincinnati will always have a special place in
my heart. Laurel Faylor of Queen City Press Rights FCC
had an option on his contract for twenty twenty six.
It appears it's being declined and a Baseball note, Cardinals
(20:31):
traded Sunny Grade of the Red Sox today for two
pitching prospects. The former Red waved his new trade clause
and reworked his contract. His twenty twenty sixth salary will
be thirty five million, with a mutual option buyout next
year the following year for five million, So essentially he's
getting forty million for one year to pitch for the
(20:52):
Red Sox. The Cardinals sent half of that twenty million
to Boston to cover part of the salary. Those are
your headbinds from the day. Jamar Chase spoke today first
time since the end the UH suspension and talked about
that and talked about watching Sunday and not being involved
in the game. Here's Jamar Chase on what happens Sunday
(21:15):
in his suspension and his apology.
Speaker 10 (21:19):
We're giving a moment to apologize to everybody, just letting
myself get out of control, out of character, basically messing
over my name, organization, NFL, and everybody else associated with me.
Speaker 7 (21:30):
What kind of happened with the course of that play
until that led to you maybe going.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
Over the line up.
Speaker 10 (21:34):
I ain't gonna get all into detailed all that.
Speaker 7 (21:36):
I think one question that people did have is that
you didn't mention Ramsey specifically by name and the apology.
Was there any reason for that? And we reached out
to him kind of. Has there been any conversations with
Jaalen about what happened?
Speaker 9 (21:46):
Uh?
Speaker 10 (21:46):
No, Well I had no conversations and none like that.
I ain't got no where to get in contact with him.
Speaker 11 (21:51):
So do you worry this is something that I follow
you for a long time or the suspension what led
to it?
Speaker 4 (22:00):
Now?
Speaker 10 (22:00):
I could care less for him.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Is there something you.
Speaker 11 (22:03):
Want to prove this week or is it gonna take
longer to prove that that's not you that I mean?
Do you go out there with a different.
Speaker 10 (22:09):
At the end of the day, I don't really have
nothing to approve of who I am. I mean, either
you like me or you don't. I could care less.
I'm still gonna go for that end of the day.
I got kids, I got people to take care of,
so I could really care less. So I'm going out
there be the same player I am, you know what
I'm saying, and play football. That's at the end of
the day. Ain't nobody gonna stop me from who I
am how hard was Sunday? It wasn't hard watching the
(22:30):
game At the end of the day, it was just
I guess I can finally say I know how Cincinnati
fans feel. Watching the game. It was a little nerve
racking for me. Usually when I'm in the game, it's
not nerve racking, but watching it was for me.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Yeah, Jamar Chase earlier today, we're talking Joe Burrow. Should
he go or sit on Thursday night? He's gonna play.
Seems like the fan base is split. One aspect to
this I found interesting all along is the idea offered
by those who don't want him to play that Joe
Burrow there's no to rush it, or he's rushing back.
(23:03):
Define rushing and how did you determine that The Bengals
at no point set a timeline for his return or recovery.
Joe Burrow at no point publicly declared what the timeline
for recovery would be. Now, perhaps you heard or read
or saw a Twitter doctor saying all these types of
(23:23):
injuries players usually need X amount of weeks to return.
That's fine, but that's not Joe, and that's not Joe's toe.
So I haven't understood during the whole process, the idea
that Joe doesn't need to rush back. Why would he
rush rush defined by whom? And what would be the
difference and how would anybody know the difference? If Joe
(23:46):
feels good right now and has been medically cleared, why
is there an assumption there'd be a difference in him
waiting till week one to play next year versus playing
Thursday night. What medically would change about his toe? If
he's been medically cleared and he's practiced and he's come
through those practices, what it would it be like a
(24:08):
like a superhuman tow by September the first. I don't
know what the difference would be if he's been cleared.
He hasn't been clear like wink wink, but you know,
just you know, don't do anything stupid. He's been clear
to play football, and Joe said, I'm a football player
and I can't live life being scared. It doesn't make
(24:31):
a lot of sense if I'm healthy to not play.
So I guess I'll come full circle on this. If
Joe wants to play and feels comfortable as the face
of the franchise, the most important player on the team,
who they're paying over fifty million a year and Joe
(24:55):
has been through how many rehabs. If Joe considers all
of that in factors in how he feels and how
his toe feels, and how he's come out of the
practices and said I'm good to go, I don't understand
how anybody else would say no, no, no, no, no, you
shouldn't play till week one next year. I'll use Joe's line.
(25:18):
It doesn't make any sense. Cincinnati, we go. Brian, you
were on seven hundred WLW you welcome.
Speaker 9 (25:25):
Hey Lance yea. I find this discussion fascinating. I could
see both those sides everyone deciding on this. But anyway,
you spoke about the offensive line playing better and bear
with me a minute, But I mean, are they or
does it lend itself to the style of play of
the quarterback. I'm not sure how many times Joe Burrow
(25:49):
has been under center this year, but I would say
Flaco's probably played under center quite a bit more, which
maybe these linemen enjoy that which most linemen do to
be able to fire out and hit somebody. So I'm
not sure if they're playing better or they're just they're
they're they're playing, which if they are playing better, it
(26:11):
looks better, but it may lend itself to to the
way that they really want to be playing. But kill Burrow,
I don't feel like he should be. Uh. Now he's
he's clear to play, so I guess he's good to go.
I'm not really sure if I believe. I mean, I'm
the doctors, they're the doctors. And uh but but Joe
pretty much runs your organization. So whatever he wants to do,
(26:33):
I think it's gonna you know, it's gonna be So.
I don't know if he's kind of you know, got
a few people full down there or or what.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
But if right, if that's the case, why why would
Joe Burrow risk fooling people to risk his career by
playing Thursday night? If under your scenario, what would he
have to gain by doing that?
Speaker 9 (26:56):
Well, he's a football game. I mean, he's a football player.
Speaker 8 (26:58):
That's what he wants to.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Why would he risk his career? Why would he risk
coming back for after sixty plus days? Why would he
try to fool people to come back. Why wouldn't he
just think I need to take care of myself and
I'll see you next year.
Speaker 9 (27:13):
Yeah, maybe the clock in his head is going off.
I mean next month, I think he'll be twenty nine
years old.
Speaker 8 (27:20):
I mean, so.
Speaker 9 (27:24):
They've really I mean, he may be looking here and
he may be going, damn, what happened here? I mean,
you know, you know all these injuries and everything, and
I mean, I'm sure he just wants to get back
on the field. If you look at him on the sideline,
it looks like he's like disheveled and like he's ready,
like you don't know what the hell to do. But
I know he wants to play football. I get that.
I know, I know you're a football player. But I
(27:47):
feel like he's got a little bit too much pool
as to what the organization does. In general.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
Well let's remember now, I mean, i'll have to I
got to rebut that as well. It was Zach who
told him he wasn't going to play on Sunday. He
wanted to play Sunday and Zach said no, not with a.
Speaker 9 (28:01):
Quick turnaround, right, well, I thank you for Zach. That
was like, you know, we got this game Thursday. We'll
give him a little more time to you know. That
was like, okay, we'll give him a few more days
if he thanks, he's ready. We're gonna give him a
few more days. And that's what this is. I'm not sure.
I'm no doctor. I'm just a football of faan. I mean,
everyone you talk to about this injury, Julius Fording, I
(28:25):
mean this this end a boat or Dion Sanders career.
I mean, this is a this is a major deal.
I mean, I mean, if he's walking around, if he
can move and pivot and push off, I mean, I
guess everything's good. But uh, we'll see, won't we I
mean we'll we'll see.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
We will see, and we'll collectively hold our breaths on
Thursday night. Hey, Brian, have a happy.
Speaker 9 (28:45):
Thanksgiving, Haavy, Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Thanks Lance, thank you, appreciate you checking in very much.
Enjoyed the conversation. I will say and follow up on
the idea of the sacks. I think there is something too.
Joe Flacco doesn't get sacked as much. Yeah, he's he's
much more immobile than But Joe Flacco doesn't take a
lot of sacks because when a play breaks down, instead
of trying to hang in there and make something happen,
he throws it away, throws it in the ground, and
(29:08):
doesn't take a sack Joe. And we love this about Joe.
How many times has Joe made a play extending a
play where it maybe wasn't there to begin with. As
the play's unfolding it, but he slides to his right,
slides to his left, steps up in the pocket. Remember
the past last year where he is diving forward like
Superman throwing the football. That's all an extension of the
(29:29):
play that's off script, and that's what makes Joe Joe.
So I think that does lend itself to more sacks
than somebody like Joe Flacco, who says, well, I can't
do all that moving around, and this play's not going anywhere.
Let's call it a down and move on to the
next one. I think it is interesting to see if Joe,
(29:49):
in his mind navigates any closer to that mentality. You
see what I'm saying, not fully into I'm Joe Burrow,
I'm very mobile. I can extend this, and somebody's gonna
get open to slide a little bit on the dial
this way over towards the Flacco model of that play's
not going anywhere. I'm done, Let's go on to second down.
(30:12):
I think that would be very interesting to watch. I'm
way late. Down the stretch we will go. It's RNL
Carrier Sports Talk presented by Kelsey Chbylet seven hundred WLW
down the stretch we go about to hand things over
the news in the Scott Saderfield Show. By the way,
(30:32):
shout out to my guy Nathan Eaton today. I was
honored to be invited to Molar High School this morning
to speak to Nathan's media podcasting class. It was a
fantastic class, a great group, fantastic questions, and I am
so proud of and so impressed by what Nathan Eaton
is doing. He's a former intern with us, and what
(30:54):
he has done both at first at Marymont High School
and now at Mohler High School with the media departments,
and just the way and what he's always been about
in the time I've known him. From a person, husband, father, teacher,
youth minister, you name it. He's a very impressive guy
and I was honored to be there today and had
a wonderful time talking about the business with his class
(31:17):
at Moeler High School. Thanks again for the invite. Let's
go here. I got to go to Middletown and see
what John thinks of all this John Joe goes or
Joe sits.
Speaker 6 (31:28):
Well, I mean I can hit on that real quick
and a couple of things real fast if you let me.
Speaker 8 (31:32):
Joe. Yeah, Joe's a football player.
Speaker 6 (31:35):
Joe plays football. Like he said, I have the same
exact attitude Joe has. It's like he said what I'd say,
and Joe, Joe knows all right, Joe.
Speaker 8 (31:44):
Goes out there.
Speaker 6 (31:45):
You know, if Joe would have been there last week,
we would have won. I'm just going to say that.
You know, I'm not hating on Flacco, but I think
maybe the last two games, maybe he hurt us more
than he helped us. Maybe maybe last week Browning should
have went. I'm just saying. And then I wanted to
comment on the Jamar thing real quick. Yeah, you know,
I'm not condoning spitting on anyone. Let me say the skin.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
I do not feel anyone should.
Speaker 6 (32:09):
Spit on anyone.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
Okay, that's.
Speaker 6 (32:13):
Right. But you know, this guy kept getting in Jamar's space,
would not.
Speaker 8 (32:16):
Leave him alone.
Speaker 6 (32:17):
Jamar already showed him some course, drink grabbed his space
mask and that's what made him magine. Mark showed him
some power, and he kept on with this if I'm
not mistaken in that the same guy who made Aj
Green attacking and we're talking about that's what that's not
Getting the church.
Speaker 8 (32:30):
Deacon to attack you, get AJ to attack you. That's
how laid back a is, you know what I mean.
Speaker 6 (32:34):
So we already know this guy's mister talker, you know
what I mean?
Speaker 2 (32:37):
Take that terrible tell. There is no question he he is.
He knows how to get under anybody's skin, right.
Speaker 6 (32:45):
I don't condone it, but like like Jamorrow said this
in this character, and I will say, would ask him
questions like this is gonna stick with him? We're gonna
forget about this like any other.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Remember, he was just asking if he thought it would.
I thank you for the call, John. It It wasn't
a statement that it would.
Speaker 10 (32:59):
It was.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
It was a question asking his thought on would it
to give him the opening to explain why he doesn't
think or hopes it doesn't. That's all that was, by
the way. The Carolina Panthers safety Trayvon Merrig today suspended
one game for unsportsmanlike conduct in Monday Night Football last night.
He punched the forty nine Ers wide receiver Juwan Jennings
(33:21):
in a spot that no guy would want to be punched. Well,
let's put it that way. Suspended one game today. I
wish I had more time. I could really use three
hours tonight. I've got one note for you to close
the show. On this night in Cincinnati sports history, you
see basketball opened up the Shoemaker Center, the thirty two
million dollars Shoemaker Center, the debut of Hugs, Bob Huggins
(33:45):
and Steve Sanders, a walk on from the football team,
hits a shot with eight tenths of a second left.
You see stunts number twenty Minnesota at the buzzer, bedlam
at the Shoe back. And I watched that game today.
Just an unbelievable just that time in the start of
(34:07):
what you see basketball would become under Bob Huggins on
this date nineteen eighty nine. What an unreal night at
the Shoe Man, I get I gonna use three hours tonight.
How about we hook up tomorrow night, roundtable show Long
Next in Hebrew, I'm with Rocky six to eight. Hope
you'll stop by and hang out with us. Stick around.
The news is next, followed by the Scott Centerfield Show.
