see as a slight underdog in this game. As I said,

in Columbus, we're just minutes away from I shouldn't say Columbus,
which it wasn't Columbus. In ann Arbor, we are just
minutes away from the kickoff.

The game Michikin is hosting Ohio State. Ohio State going
for that unbeaten regular season, that number one seed in
the College Football playoff. But it's Michigan and it's always
a turn in the side for Ohio State. Last year
it was for Ryan Day. Somebody asked him this week,
you know, coaching in these games, it's got to be fun, right,

Like I say, fun is kicking ass, and that's what
we want to do on Saturday.

So we're preparing to do that. And that's it. Like
there's nothing funny about this at all. But the fun
part is winning. So we'll save the fun for being
in the locker room and celebrating after the game.

Well, we'll see if it gets that far. For Ohio State.

They are about a nine nine and a half point
favorite in this road game at ann Ardor. Keeping our
eye on that and a lot of other things today
and certainly what goes on in the world and in
particular the United States and in particular the Trump administration.
Donald Trump came into office in January, and he promised

that he would attack the economy and make it more
affordable for you and me. And in some instances he has.
Price of eggs they've gone down, I mean, the staples
of groceries have gone down. Other things remain inflated. The
price of beef has continued to escalate. So there's good

(02:16):
and bad when you go to the grocery store. When
you go to the gas pump. It is not the
inflated prices we saw when Joe Biden was in office.
Gasoline is now coming down to the mid two dollars range,
and in some places around the trist did it's even
lower than that. But the GOP has kind of lost
its way. There was the ill advised lawsuits against James

Comy and Letitia James. James and Comie are still within
legal jeopardy for the crimes they allegedly committed, but nevertheless
it looked like it was a sham kind of prosecution
with a prosecutor that was helicoptered in at the last
minute before charges against Comy could be filed. The time

clock on what he did was running out. And now
it seems like as the federal government regroups, a lot
of people are standing there thinking about, well, what did
we just do?

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Not the least of which is Pam BONDI.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Isn't the main focus in any off of your election,
which is coming up in less than one year. Isn't
the main focus supposed to be on the economy. We're
not at war anywhere, although stand by for Venezuela. We're
not at war anywhere. The economy is what should being

attacked and not necessarily political enemies are people that have
done the president wrong in years past. Standing by the way,
it is one of the sounder voices in politics. Someone
who's not given to hyperbole, not given to overstatements. Somebody
that served our country in the United States Congress for
several terms, knew where money went, how it should be spent,

(03:56):
and then got tired of Washington, came back home, and
he's working for a lot of causes up in the
northeastern part of Ohio. Good guest of our program, and that,
of course, is former US Congressman Jim Ornacy.

Jim, how are you on this glorious Saturday.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
I'm doing well, Ken, how are you?

Speaker 2 (04:13):
I'm doing well as well. And it's always good to
hear your voice.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Okay.

So these cases against Jim Comey, former FBI director, and
Leticia James, the current attorney general from the state of
New York, tossed out of court. The Trump administration had
filed what would seem to be kind of shaky of
prosecutions against both of them. The judge was a Clinton

(04:39):
appointed judge, and the person that was in charge of
prosecuting these cases for the federal government was somebody that
would appear to have been helicoptered in at the last moment.
He basically ordered Pam Bondy to do this on an
Internet post, on a truth social post. And the minute

(04:59):
I saw, I thought, wait a minute. So he's ordering
a legitimate attorney general to file charges that at the
very least seems shaky, and he's doing it in a
public setting, and I just I think he put her
in a bad position as well.

Speaker 6 (05:16):
Well he did.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
And again, remember because there's some now talking well they're
going to come back and foul. They can't come back
and foul against comany. The statue's limitations has run out.
But that's why they hurried up and fouled. I think
it was within twenty four hours of the statue of
limitations running out. So this is all bad theater. It

(05:38):
looks bad for the president. And it's one of the
reasons why I keep saying if you look at the polling,
and I will say, Republicans are standing with President Trump.
I saw polling this week that showed he's an eighty
seven percent with Republicans today and that's what he was
in November. But the independence they have deathly walked away

(06:00):
from him big time. They are now down to twenty
seven percent. They were almost seventy percent back in November
last year. And that's what's really going to heart hurt
the Republican Party. And then I must admit, I mean
the calling of the reporter Piggy on the airplane is

(06:21):
now turning women against him. This is all not good
for the Republican Party coming up in the midtmbes.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
I think the Republicans have lost their way, to be
honest with you. James Carvill, who was anything but a Republican,
said back in the nineties when he got President Clinton elected,
it's the economy, stupid, and that's what this is. Look,
if you're invested in the market, you're doing pretty good.
Market is doing well, but a vast majority of the

(06:53):
American people are not invested in the market, and so
on main street it's a little bit better, but it's
not much better. I don't think the mainstream media helps.
They're not telling some of the good stories that are
going on. Price of gasoline falling all over the country,
and the fact of the matter is, although not down
to where anyone would like it, the price of groceries

(07:15):
have fallen since since Trump took office. But it's not
happening as quickly as people thought it would be. And
so now we're hearing affordability. That's the message, that's the
that's the buzzword now really from both parties. But I
think the I think the Republicans, Jim have got to
drill down, double down, and just over sell what they're
doing from an affordability and an economic standpoint, and then

(07:39):
keep working at it, because at the end of it,
if you're at peace, that's what's going to get you
elected in any election, is affordability and how much things cost.
And I think they've kind of dropped the ball on this,
don't you.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
Well I do, But I also would tell you that, look,
gas is coming down. The one thing about gas prices,
they usually they go up when the economy's booming. They
come down when the economy's starting to falter. So the
decline in gas prices is not a good sign, even

(08:13):
though it's a good sign for someone paying for gasoline.
But the problem is food prices they have not come down.
And you look at beef. We got a serious issue
there with costs. Now we got President Trump going to
bring in Argentine beef, which is also I read this morning,

(08:34):
are going to make many of the farmers in this
country mad because now they're competing with Argentina beef, which
is going to drive prices down. They're already struggling because
of these tariffs. So I think in the end, Republicans
exactly right, need to find a message that they can

(08:55):
hang their hat on and move forward on, because right
now they afforded the ability issue. For let's say that
if you're above a certain class of income, you're doing
pretty well, and if you're below a certain class of income,
you're doing okay, because Medicare, Medicaid is still pushing. It's

(09:16):
the middle class. It's that middle of the person who's
working forty hours a week and can't make ends meet.
Those are the people who are going to make the
Republican Party pay if they don't see if it doesn't
look like they are making ends meet come next November.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
All right, much to your disliking, I want to put
you back in Washington, DC, just for a moment, and
put you back in Congress. No, it's the last place
you want to be. Well, what would Let's just say
you're there and you're a Republican and your party is
in the majority barely in the House. You know, what
kind of house do about things like affordability? Does it

(09:56):
all fall on Trump? Is there anything that somebody that
might have some gravitas that would run, you know, ways
and means whatever it may be to get the country
back on the affordability track. Everybody seems to want to
blame Trump because he's the guys sit at the top
of the mountain. But what can be done legislatively that

(10:17):
might address some of these things.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
Well, the sad thing is if you really want to start,
especially in the House and Senate, starting to look at affordability,
You're going to have to take on some of President
Trump's positions. And that's the problem. Right now we have
a Speaker, Mike Johnson, who is tied one hundred percent
of the hip.

Speaker 7 (10:39):
I hate to say it, but you know, the House
and the.

Speaker 5 (10:43):
Senate are supposed to be standalone bodies that represent the
people that elected them, and today we.

Speaker 7 (10:52):
Have a House and the Senate. Especially in the House,
you have.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
A speaker who basically is taking the position that I
am not going to go against Trump. He helped me
get elected, he got me the speakership, and we're not
going to do anything to go against him. It's one
of the reasons why you're seeing so many discharge petitions.

Speaker 6 (11:13):
Now.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
Many of your listeners might not know what a discharge
petition is, but when the members of the House, when
the speaker is not allowing their bills to come forward,
you put them out as a discharge petition you have
Once you get two hundred and eighteen members to sign
the petition, it has to be voted on. And that's
what happened on the Epstein bows that was a discharge petition.

(11:37):
But there's also other discharge petitions now being lined up.
When it comes to healthcare, this is a big issue.
I'll tell you if the Democrats have done one thing
good in the last four months, because they've done a
lot of bad things as well. But the one good
thing is they have centered on healthcare. Have said that

(12:01):
we need to help the individuals who can't afford healthcare,
and we need to come up with a plan. And
they're not talking about while Obamacare is a bad plan,
they're not saying that. They're just saying, hey, we need
to come up with the plan and we need to
extend subsidies, and we need to make sure people can
afford their health care and pay for the healthcare. That

(12:22):
is a great message and Republicans need to come up
with a response to that sooner than later.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Well, there's a messaging problem. First of all, you have
to oversell your message. Your message has to work, but
you have to oversell it because the mainstream media, you know,
always defaults to the Democrat side of the argument. But
if you coming up with a message would fall to
who would that fall to?

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Johnson?

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Who would it fall to to come up with a
message and then implementing that message?

Speaker 5 (12:54):
Well Johnson? Yeah, yeah, normally what happened. Look, I served
under Bayinner, served under Paul Ryan. They both served under
Banner under Obama, Paul Ryan under Trump. But we also
basically our message was coordinated but different when needed. The

(13:14):
best example is we were not supportive of tariffs, even
though Trump was supportive of tarifs from twenty sixteen to
twenty twenty, and we made that clear that we weren't
supportive of tariffs. It's not a Republican issue. It's a
hidden tax. It's a problem. The House isn't doing that
right now. The House is basically just say staying quiet

(13:37):
on tarifs, even though when you look at Republican values
and principles, they do not support tariff. So there's a
perfect example where the House can take a position different
different from President Trump and coordinate things going forward. But
what we have right now is the House and Senate

(13:57):
that is totally willing to challenge Donald Trump. President Trump,
and I think that's one of the reasons Marjorie Taylor
Green finally stepped away, which was shocking in itself, one
of the greatest supporters of President Trump, but she's stepping
away as well.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Jim and Acy, former Ohio Congressman, our guest here on
seven hundred w welw okay. We're less than a year
I'm sorry away from the midterms. In your opinion, Can
the Republicans get their act together and get that messaging
out attack of affordability and keep control of the House,
Because you and I both know, Jim, if the Democrats

(14:40):
get control of the House, the first order of business
won't be affordability. It won't be healthcare. It'll be impeached
Donald Trump. They'll find something and he'll get impeached, and
it will consume this country. For the rest of his presidency.
So can the Republicans get their act together in time?

Speaker 5 (14:56):
Well, one thing I always say can about elections is
there always one or lost in the last sixty days.
So absolutely, there is plenty of time. The problem is
they can't let themselves get dug too deep in a hole,
staying out of office and not coming back. Speaker Johnson
not bringing the House back for almost fifty or sixty days,

(15:17):
I think that was a mistake that put them deeper
in the hole. They're going to have to do some
things between now and November to convince the American people
that we should not replace the Republican majority with the
Democrat majority. Now, I will also tell you that normally
the midterm after a president election, after a new president

(15:40):
is elected, is usually an absolute disaster for the party
in power. Go back to twenty eighteen. We lost the
House two years after President Trump was elected. The first
time we lost the House, we lost the Senate, we
lost governor seats across the country. It becomes is a

(16:00):
issue in an uphill battle that we will have to
face again.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
In twenty twenty six.

Speaker 5 (16:06):
Not impossible, but I think we're already starting in a hole.
Because it's a two year cycle after President Trump's been elected.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
People.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
The one thing I really do hate about our process.

Speaker 6 (16:18):
I love our process.

Speaker 5 (16:19):
It's the greatest in the world, but we do punish
the people in power, and sometimes we don't give them
enough time to correct things that they're doing wrong. And
I am concerned that the Republican Party has an uphill,
automatic uphill challenge come November of next year, but not
an impossible challenge.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
And this is why Mike Johnson needs to resign immediately
and Jim ord Aci should be appointed Speaker of the House.
You know that could happen, john I could be appointed
Speaker of the House.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Why not?

Speaker 2 (16:49):
You you know Washington, you probably get your old apartment
back out there.

Speaker 6 (16:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (16:54):
Well, you know what's funny you say that. The funny
thing that I probably wouldn't survive very long to speak
without either, because I would tell people they're not going
home until we get something done, and then they would
probably want to impeach me.

the economy stupid? And all of these other things are
just nonsense. Your plates pull, Comey's going to walk. Can't
do anything about it. It was just the way the
lay of the land is. You might get James on
something else, but focus on the economy. That's what gets

you elected, that's what keeps the majority in the House.
You lose the majority of the House, the impeachment nonsense
will begin, and we will be right back to twenty
eighteen again. It is twelve twenty five, it is Saturday afternoon.
Michigan has taken a three to nothing lead on Ohio
State in the early minutes of the first quarter. We'll

keep you abreast to that and a lot more to

hundred WLW. Two National guardsmen were shot this week in Washington, DC.

And there seems to be a problem in this country
with people who have come here illegally, this time from Afghanistan,
where there was no vetting. It's very difficult to vet
goat farmers from the hills in Afghanistan because a lot
of them don't have birth dates to begin with. There's
no documentation. They all just have a year that they
were born, and other information is kind of scarce. But

over and above that, when they were extra douited from
Afghanistan and dropped off in these pods around the world
before they wound up in the United States, there should
have been some face to face interviews and there were none.
Another horrific failing of the Biden immigration policy, Well, there
was no policy. Just let everybody in the country, we

all know why they were doing it. And now we
have the National Guard shooting at allegedly the hands of
an Afghan that came to this country illegally, was allowed
to stay here illegally. Asylum has really little to do
with it. You can present yourself to the government and say, hey,
look I'm at risk if I go home. Okay, you
get asylum. I mean, the law is as simple as that.

It's as simple as that. And then they just scatter
into the countryside and who the hell knows where they go. Well,
this guy drove from Washington State to Washington, DC to
shoot two National guardsmen, and the Democrats are again at
war with Ice. Christineome Is going to appear in a
commercial this weekend asking people, if you want to be

an ice agent here you call Well, of course, George
Soros funded NGOs have their own commercial against it. I
don't know why the Dems are lining up on this
side of the equation other than they think that at
some point, somehow, some way that these people are here
illegally are going to get registered to vote and therefore

will thank the Dems and therefore will vote democratic. Nevertheless,
there are real tangible effects to you and me and
everyone else, including these two poor guardsmen that was shot.
One's dead and the other one is in critical condition.

about basically telling people in uniform in this country you
don't agree with something that the president, the commander in chieved,

i would call a multi year restructuring cycle where companies
reassess every role FOR ai.

Compatibility what jobs maybe, globally not, specifically but what jobs
are most threatened at this point by artificial INTELLIGENCE.

Ai so historically recessions hit blue collar works.

Different employers have discovered THE ai is more efficient and
cheaper for many, administrative analytics and level professional.

Tasks so companies.

Are actively, asking you, know why pay for a full
team WHEN ai can do thirty to sixty percent of their.
Workloads so this is impacting areas such as, MARKETING hr and,
recruiting finance and, accounting business, operations project, management things of that.
Nature so it's not just eliminating, jobs but it's eliminating

certain tasks that are aligned with certain, jobs which reduces
the need for a full time.

Staff.

Yeah BUT i was always told me here If i'm, Wrong,
dante that it's if it's garbage, in it's garbage. Out
if it's high level, in it's high level. Out THIS ai,
thing it's only as good as the information or the
disciplines are that are injected into the.

Process if they're not, good then the outcome is not.

Good and the FEAR i think a lot of people,
have other than maybe they're going to lose their, job
is that there's some, wizard like in The wizard Of
oz sitting behind a curtain just programming all of this
