First Date follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys
online at adjocuslad dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Josh is on the phone today for a first date
follow up and he's getting ghosted by a woman named
Meredith that he recently went on a date with. We're
gonna call her pretty soon and see if she'll tell
us why she's ghosting him. But first, Josh, how long
has it been since you hear from Meredith?

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Yeah, it's it's been about a week.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
Yeah, that's usually a sign. So how did you meet Meredith?
Can you tell us about the date?

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Uh? Yeah, you know, we met at a club. She
was with her friends and I saw her coming off
the dance floor and I just knew I wanted to
talk to her. You know, Yeah, she was just you know,
she was absolutely gorgeous, and you know, she was with
some of her friends. I was with some of my
friends and we ended up just sitting at the bar
and talking all night. It was great.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Oh that's cool. Okay, So was that the date?

Speaker 3 (00:54):
And no, I mean we actually, you know, we we
were my friends left and we were leaving the club
and she said she lived close by, so you know,
I actually I went home with her and we had
a super great night.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Oh so that part was the date. So did you
guys like hook up what? I don't know what base
did you get too late?

Speaker 3 (01:15):
It's funny, Yeah, I mean we you know, we we did.
We were we were kissing and and it just it
just happened and it was just a great night.

Speaker 5 (01:25):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Obviously you don't want to spill too many of the deeds,
which is respectable.

Speaker 5 (01:28):
But could that have been all she was looking for,
just like a quick hookup?

Speaker 3 (01:34):
I mean, I I hope not. You know, I thought
we had a really good connection, you know. I mean
she was, you know, obviously gorgeous, like model hot, and
I just thought we had a great conversation, and you know,
she was one of those people that kind of knows
everything about everything, and that just you know, kind of
turned me on even more.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Okay, So yeah, all right, So why why do you
think she might be ghosting it?

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Then? You know, honestly, I think it might be because
we slept together so quickly, you know, and maybe she
did just want a one night stand and that was it.
You know, I've had a few of those and they
are what they are, but she was just more than that.
To me, So I don't like that I'm getting ghosted.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Did you feel like she was into it too? Like,
was there ever a moment where you started to feel
like maybe she was pulling away?

Speaker 3 (02:27):
I mean, I don't think so. I thought we had
a great night, you know, And I think the fact
that she hooked up with me, I mean I was
feeling like everything was.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Going well, and maybe she thought you were only interested
in one. I assume maybe it just wasn't good. I'm sorry,
I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
First time you're always onward to the evil, So it's
not it's not a testament to yoursel usually not that good.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Right, I'm obviously hoping it's not that? Yeah? Right? You know,
could it be?

Speaker 2 (02:55):
That's why I know how, no matter how long I'm
with someone, I was like, let's pretend I guess our
first time, so that if it's I can be like
it was our first time. Yeah, what ex we were
pretyding to be as our first time. That's why. All right, Josh,
Well see what we can figure it out for you. Plus,
I'll come back and then call her and see if

(03:16):
she'll tell us why she's ghosting you and maybe get
you another date.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Okay, all right, thanks so much.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Guys.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
All right, we'll get your first day follow up next.
Right in the middle of the first day follow up,
and if you're just joining us, Josh is on the
phone and he's getting ghosted by Meredith. We're about to
call her and see she'll tell us why she's ghosting
him and maybe get him another date. But first, Josh,
why don't you catch everybody up on your date with Meredith.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Yeah, I mean it was a great day. I met
her at the club, we talked at the bar all night,
and you know, we actually ended up hooking up. And
I think that actually might be why she's ghosting me,
is because we hooked up so quickly. But I had
a great night and it's been over a week, so
I'm really hoping you guys can figure this out.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Ready for us to call her?

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Yeah, I'm ready.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Okay, here we go. Hello, Hi, may speak to Meredith please.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
Yeah, that's me.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Hey Meredith, how are you. My name is Jubel. I'm
calling from a radio show. It's called the Jubil Show
him Meredith, the whole show is here.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Hi.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
My name's Nina no Way.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Hi, I'm Victoria.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
Yeah, I know you guys.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Sweet we did get an email about you from a
guy named Josh.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Okay, so you know.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
We do the first day follow up where if you
go out on a date with someone and then you
ghost them, that person can have us get you on
the phone and ask why you're ghosting. Josh says, he's
been trying to get a hold of you for like
a week and you haven't gotten.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Back to him. Yeah, do you mind telling us why?

Speaker 5 (04:50):
So that night that we met, it was pretty good.
You know, he seemed really nice and he actually listened
instead of just like waiting to talk, you know, next thing,
you know, and and he's really hot, and so you know,
I kind of just decided that I wanted to take
him home. I don't do that a whole lot, but
it just seemed kind of right, Like we just we

(05:12):
clicked really well. And when we were walking home, you know,
we were still getting to know each other, but the
chemistry was there, and so you know, I just I
wanted to get him home, you know. Okay, it was
it was hot, and you know when we got to
my place, you know, we kind of just got right
to it, you know, and but you know, as soon
as my clothes were off, you know, I was like,

(05:33):
I want to take a quick shower because I was
just dancing all night and I felt, you know, gross,
so I just, you know, I wanted to shower really quickly.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
You know.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
He said that didn't matter and suggested I didn't shower
because it's hotter.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
But you know, I wasn't comfortable with that, so I went.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
And showered, and after I got out, you know, we
got to it and it was great. Every second of
it was great. But then, you know, we talked for
a bit after and I mentioned that I had to
be up early the next day, so I went to
the bathroom really quickly before he left, you know, while
he was getting dressed, and then I let him out.
And after he left, I was picking up around my

(06:10):
place and I could not find my panties. I knew
they should have been there because there was there was
a whole thing.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
It was just a thing.

Speaker 5 (06:20):
It was a thing with him, and you know they
should have been there because I it was there was
a lot of smelling involved.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
He smelled them.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
Yeah, you know, in the moment was it was hot.
But you know, I don't ever want to king shame anyone.
That's not the problem. The problem is that I know
he took them and he.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Didn't ask me.

Speaker 5 (06:44):
That is growth and weird and violating.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
But had he asked you, would you have been okay
with it?

Speaker 3 (06:50):
Honestly, I probably would have. You know, I may have
been open.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
To the idea, or maybe I would maybe I would
have said no, that's something that I feel like i'd
have to go on in the moment, but that doesn't
really matter because he didn't ask.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
So okay, Well, thank you for being honest, Marritius. I
appreciate that. But also Josh is on the phone listening
and wants to talk to you.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
Oh, I forgot about that part.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Josh's still there.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Yeah, Hey, Meredith. Hi, Well, I didn't take them, and
I definitely don't remember being that creepy and smelling you.
So I don't know why you're saying that.

Speaker 5 (07:35):
I don't believe you, and it's kind of messed up
if that's your thing, Like you took my underwear without
asking for permission, So I just don't know that I
could trust you.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
If we went on another date. I don't know what
to tell you because I did not take your underwear,
and I'm really sorry. I mean, I want a second date,
but I didn't take them. I promise that you can
trust me, and you know, if I ever want to
do that, I would ask you.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
It's it's just a little weird to me that you
seemed really interested in them earlier in the night and
then all of a sudden they were gone.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Well, they've they've got to be somewhere in your house.
I promised I didn't take them. I mean, they've got
to be somewhere that you just haven't checked. I don't
have them.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
I mean I've looked everywhere I can imagine, and I
think I know my house pretty well well.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Is there anyone at your house that could have taken them?
Or did anyone come over? I mean, I'm not accusing
you of hooking up with someone, but I mean, could
someone else have taken them in the last week.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
No, I haven't had anyone else come over that would
take my underwear.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Do you have a pet?

Speaker 3 (08:42):
I don't. I don't have any pets.

Speaker 5 (08:44):
I grew up with dogs and I know that's something
they do, but I don't have any pets right now.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Josh, were you promised you did not take her underwear?

Speaker 3 (08:52):
I promised I did not take her underwear, So.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
If we sent the underwear police to your house, they
wouldn't find anything.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
We have their number.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
No, I don't think the underwear police would find anything. Meredith.
You can come over to my place right now. You
can check the underwear I'm wearing. You can check every drawer,
every cabinet. I promise you I do not have them.
I just want to second date, Meredith.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Would you like to go with Josh again on another date?
We'll pay for it.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
I really want to, Josh.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
I just don't know how you would prove to me
that you didn't take them.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Well, can I just buy you some new ones?

Speaker 4 (09:35):
You got to say yes, you get free panties, we'll
pay for it, and free underwear.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
Yeah okay, yeah, yeah, I'll we'll give it another try.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
And just you know, don't.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
Take any of the other don't take any of my
other underwears.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
Josh with the underwear for the wind, do you agree
to keep your greedy mits off of her underwear?

Speaker 3 (09:59):
Oh? My god, I definitely agree. I'm just so excited.

Speaker 1 (10:03):

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
