Speaker 1 (00:00):
First date of follow up powered by the Advocates Injury
Attorneys online at Advocates Law dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Corey is on the phone today for a first date
follow up and she's getting ghosted by a dude named Sebastian.
So in a few minutes, we're gonna call him and
see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting her and
maybe get her another date. But first, Corey, how long
has it been since you heard from Sebastian.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
You know, it's been a little bit. I thought that
he would get back to me right away, but he
did him.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Okay, So have you tried to hit him up? Like
multiple times.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
I've texted, but he didn't reply. And the thing is,
so Sebastian and I worked together. Yeah, so the next
day at the office I saw him, he like avoided
eye contact with me. So, I mean it's it's there's
clearly something.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Okay, So he's avoiding you at the office. Yeah, that's
the worst.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
You can't go somebody like you're not going to disappear.
I'm so sorry, Corey. Well, why don't you tell us
about your date and how you escalated from coworkers to
this situation.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Sure, so we would always flirt a little when we
were getting coffee in the office, and finally he asked
me out and we went to happy hour at this
little place near the office, and at first, like I
was terrified, but honestly, he made me laugh right away.
We got Rnarita's and tacos, and he kept telling me

(01:26):
these like ridiculous office stories, like one time he spilled
colbrew all over the company's printer and I was like,
oh my gosh, it was Yeah, it was a good time.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Well, were you guys like flirty too? Do you feel
like it was going in that direction?

Speaker 3 (01:42):
I think so. I mean, we stayed way longer than
I thought. I honestly thought i'd be even by like eight,
but suddenly it was almost midnight and we're still talking.
We talked about travel, music, even books, which honestly I
didn't think he was into. But he had actual opinions
on books.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
That's funny.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Yeah, I was you don't you don't find that, and
you know I didn't expect it.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Okay, So did you guys like touch I don't know
how to question.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
Did you kids?

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Did your hold hands? Did he hug you? Did he
grab your butt?

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Like?

Speaker 1 (02:17):
What? Whoa?

Speaker 3 (02:17):
What?

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Yeah? I just like, how far we got. I know,
I'm sorry, but.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Not really well. When he walked me to my car,
he hugged me and he said we should definitely do
this again. And honestly, after that I kind of floated home.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Okay, so he actually is the one that said we
should do this again, but.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
He's ghosting you.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Is there anything that you can think of that happened?

Speaker 3 (02:42):
I don't know, because you know, he was genuinely curious
about me. It felt like maybe there was a spark.
I don't go on dates very often, and it didn't
feel like a small talk thing. It felt different. I guess.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Okay, so nothing happened, Like was there an awkward moment?

Speaker 3 (02:59):
I mean, I don't know. I know I'm shy and
maybe a little different.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Like at one point he asked me, oh my god,
if you could live anywhere, where would it be? And
I froze. Instead of saying something normal like New York
or Paris or whatever, I blurted out Moonvale from the
Chronicles of Ashmir. And it's not even a real place.
It's yeah, it's just a book I've read twelve times.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Probably, I mean, I would think that was cool. Yeah,
I'd be like, let's moondail. Yeah, I mean he laughed.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
He laughed, but it was more like a I don't know,
you were so weird kind of laugh. Like I keeper
playing it in my head wondering like, oh, was that
the moment he realized like I'm too strange to be
taken seriously, Like I don't like, I'm like cringing just.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Thinking about Well, no, I mean I would think that
was a dope answer, honestly. Yeah, and again, I'm weird,
so you know, we love weird. Weird is so cool.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Well, I'm weird, but.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah, we'll see what we can figure it out for you.
We'll play a song come back, thank you, and call
him and see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting
you and maybe get you a second date.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Okay, okay, thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
All Right, we'll get your first day follow up next.
Right in the middle of your first day follow up
if you're just joining us, Corey is on the phone
and she's getting ghosted by a guy named Sebastian. So
we're about to call him and see if he'll tell
us why he's ghosting her and maybe get her a
second date. But before we do that, Corey, why don't
you break down your dating again force real quick.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Okay, So Sebastian and I work together. We slurret it
a lot. He asked me out. We went for tacos
and Margarita's. I thought we'd be there toy. We were
there almost midnight. He gave me a hug. At the
end of the night, he told me we should do
it again sometime. I think maybe I was a little weird.
I don't know, maybe a little awkward. He asked me,

(04:53):
if I could live anywhere in the world, where would
it be, And I blurted out Moondale from the Chronicles
of that Ashmir, which is not a real place. So
maybe he thinks I'm really weird. It's a pretty cool place.
It's a pretty cool place. But yes, I texted. I
texted him like the next day. I said thank you,

(05:16):
no reply, And when I saw him work, he just
like avoided me and went in the other direction. So
I don't know, I'm out of my comfort zone. I
don't get it. I thought he liked me. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
All right, Well, are you ready for us to call him?

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Yes? Thank you?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Ok, here we go.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Hi, man, I speaks to Sebastian, please speaking. Hey Sebastian,
how are you? This is a radio show. It's called
The Jubil Show.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Hi, Sebastian. I'm Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria and my name
is Jubile. What's up?

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (05:58):
What's what's happened right now? Am I getting pranked?

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Or no, it's not a prank. Have you ever listened
to The Jewel Show before?

Speaker 4 (06:06):
I'm sorry I haven't.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
All right, well, we do a segment on the show
and it's called the first Date follow Up. That's where
if you go out on a date with somebody and
you end up ghosting them, that person can email us
to ask you why you're ghosting. And so we got
an email about you, Sebastian.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
Uh, yeah, this is about Corey, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (06:27):
So you are smart, Yes, it is about Corey. Why
why are you ghosting Corey? Do you mind telling us?

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Oh? Yeah, okay, so this is gonna sound awful, But
at first I asked her out on the dare my buddy?
And hey, man, yeah, no, I know, I know, but
seriously listen and I'll explain.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
I'll explain it.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
I'll explain it like literally, this guy who I work with,
he is like, hey, nobody can get to a Corey touchable,
and I was, and I was just joking that, you know, like,
oh dude, I can. So I did end, but then
you know it, she really turned out to be like
just incredible, like sweet, funny, quirky. And now I don't
know what to do because I don't want her to
find out about the bere because she she just deserves

(07:15):
so much better than that.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Yeah, so the dare was because people feel like she's unattainable.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Yeah, like like nobody could actually like actually ask her
out on a day to actually like get her to
to you know, grab a drink or grab coffee or
you know whatever. Nobody could get that kind of side
of her with always business business business, you know what
I mean.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Oh okay, And so you actually did like her, Yes,
So you can feel bad because it was about a
dare and you don't want to continue things because if
she finds out that it was a.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Dare, hurt her feeling.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Yeah exactly, I really see. I don't know if there
was something there that I just don't want to hurt her,
and I think that she would just if you might
crumble if I if I told her that, or like
she I, it wouldn't go any further than that because
it started some someplace so thin and.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
You don't know that you would have to explain it
to her and see, you know how. She responds, Yeah,
I mean I could try that, but I think you should.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
I'm sure.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Okay, cool, she's on the phone right now and wants
to talk to you. That part.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
So you only asked me out because of some sort
of dare Okay, yes, I'd like it. It was, but
then it wasn't because you're you're because you're not a challenge,
You're you're uh sin.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
What what am I?

Speaker 1 (08:46):
What am I?

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Why do people think I'm so like untouchable just because
I don't like, oh, like hang out by the water
cooler with everyone, Like maybe I'm just not interested in
that kind of stuff.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
Yeah, yeah, exactly, That's what I realized. You and you're
not closed off. You're so much more intentional than that,
And that's that's so that's so rare, and I screwed up,
And but when we were together, it wasn't a there anymore.
And it was literally the best night I have had
in forever.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
So what now I'm supposed to believe you suddenly caught
feelings for me in the middle of all of this,
in the middle of your little dare.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
Yes, because you make me like sound like this, Corey,
Like you're you are hilarious and kind and you don't
even you don't even realize how amazing you are. Like I,
I ghost it because I was scared, not because of you,
literally because of me. And if you found out that
I was an idiot, like I didn't want you to

(09:47):
I don't know. I didn't want you to find I'm
an idiot.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Well you really you really are an idiot?

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Yeah, yeah you are. No, I totally am because like
but like, I don't know, am I an idiot who
deserves the second date? I don't.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
In a way, it's kind of a compliment. All those
people thought you were so impressive Corey that nobody would
be able to touch you. It's not like it was
a dare like you Yeah, no, not at all. It
was like, ooh, Corey, I'm scared, and Sebastian wasn't scared.
He stepped up to the plate.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
I mean I don't find myself very scary. I mean
I spend a lot of trend in library, so not
told that you know.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Because you're intelligent sometimes like extreme intelligence and women is
scary for some men, not all so, I mean, yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
You're intimidating, but like in a really like well worded,
really fun, deep like I could listen to you for
hours kind of way, like, oh man, what cool adventure
are we about to go on in this conversation?

Speaker 5 (10:50):
Like and you have no idea how nervous I was
to like even get up the nerve to ask you
out like it was. It took two coffee and a
lot of self of self talk.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Sounds like you hit the bathroom right after.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Yeah, wow, Sebastian, would you like another day with Corey?
We'll pay for it?

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Yes I would.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
I mean, this is a lot to take in. I'm
going to be honest. I did not expect to hear
that I was just a dare. I can't believe I'm
about to say this, but yes, I will give you
one more chance, just one one, and you're never living
down the Dare thing though, Like I'm not going to

(11:36):
just forget about that. Nope.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
I am a total idiot and you're the most amazing
person I have ever met, And I will I will
never let this down.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
Thank you sounds like, well, wait, hold on, I have
a question though, So what are you going to tell
everyone in the.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
Uh that I am a total dupis faced idiot and
that you are the most fantastic, wonderful person I've met
my entire life.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
Wow? Wow, Okay, thank you brutal honesty. I like that,
and honestly, here I thought you were just going to
try to say things. So I'm on board with that.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
Congratulation everybody, every everyone needs to know how lucky I am.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
I knew you liked me. I thank you. I feel
a little bit better to know that I wasn't wrong.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
