Speaker 1 (00:00):
First date of follow up powered by the Advocates Injury
Attorneys online at advocusla dot com. CHRISA is on the
phone today for a first day follow up and she's
getting ghosted by a guy named Charlie. So in a
few minutes we're gonna call him and see hotels why
he's ghostinger, and maybe get her a second date. But first, Christa,
how long has it been since you heard from Charlie?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Hi? Yeah, it's been about six days, six days, texted twice.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Did you guys leave? Like, how did you leave the date?
Did you have a plan to see each other again?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I thought that we would. I guess it seems like
there was yeah, potential for a call. I thought that
it ended.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
As well, But then.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Again, I don't know, maybe there's I made this well,
I kind of made a mass at the event that.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
We what do you mean by that?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Okay, So, like so we met at this It was
actually really cool. There was this rooftop astronomy event thing,
like there were like all these telescopes and there was
like five chatz and wow, yeah that was amazing, And
there were like cocktails and peak in teapots and we
were like taking cocktails of teacups.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
It was really cute.

Speaker 5 (01:19):
That's really super cute.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
I am not the most graceful person, and I uh,
I accidentally I was like looking through the telescope and
I just accidentally knocked over this tray of the peak
cups and it landed.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
So there was this broaderberg guy there.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
And it's basically I failed like a bunch of cocktails
over this like really fancy star chart that's just like
really commented yeah, and everyone saw and everyone gashed and
it was really not cute, but actually, like it's funny
because Charlie was like really sweet about it and like

(02:06):
laughed about it and helped me clean it up with
you know these like meeker like cocktail napkins.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
It was so I mean, I think, you know, that was.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Not great, but I still thought that, you know, we
had like an infer home and I thought that things
were going well.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
I'm glad he.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Helped you clean up, because what was he supposed to
be would be like, oh, I'm not with her.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Exactly.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
That is really embarrassing, though, I'm sorry that happened to you.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Yes, me too, but it's like yeah, not the first time,
not the last, so.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Sure, okay, did the day continue past the rooftop or
was that the spot?

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:47):
No, we we like talked after that super embarrasing incident,
and like, I don't know, we had an uber home.
We like talked about music, and I just I thought
that there was a spark. I mean, I know I
need a mess, but like I was really nervous and I'm,
like I said, I'm kind of a consany person.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
So I don't know.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
I just I think that I really hope he gives
me another chance.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Well, how did he seem afterwards? Like in the ober
and staff? Was he being different with you?

Speaker 2 (03:18):
No, we were like having like cute conversation and yeah,
it felt very cute. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
All right, well, we'll try to figure it out for you.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
We'll play a song come back, and then call him
and see if I'll tell us why he's ghosting you
and maybe get you a second date. Okay, all right,
all right, we'll get your first day follow up next.
Right in the middle of your first day follow up
if you're just joining us, Chrisa is on the phone
and she's getting ghosted by a dude named Charlie. So
we're about to call him and see if he'll tell

(03:47):
us why he's ghosting her and maybe get her a
second date. But before we do that, Christo, why don't
you break down your situation for us.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
Again real quick.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah. So I met Charlie at this astronomy event with
like tell us ghosts and all this stuff.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
And while we were.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
There, I like build a bunch of drinks over this
like star chart and maybe that was the reason, but like,
I don't know. We we just like clicked even after
that and took an uber home and like chatted and
did this start.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Chart any event?

Speaker 2 (04:19):
I Oh god, I mean.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
I know that the.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Guy who was like running it.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Was really that.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Yeah. No, it was definitely like not the thing to do.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
All right, well we'll see if that is the reason.
Are you ready for us to call him?

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Yeah, all right, let's shoot us.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Hello.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
Hi, I'm asking to Charlie. Please Charlie.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Hey, Charlie, how are you? This is a radio show.
It's called the Jubil Show.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Hi, Charlie.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
I'm Nina Victoria. My name is ju hol Us Up.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Oh really how are you?

Speaker 5 (05:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (05:04):
I'm pretty good?

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (05:06):
When's the radio shirting me?

Speaker 1 (05:07):
We're calling you because we do a segment on the
show called the First Aid follow Up. That's where if
you go out on a day with somebody and they
end up ghosting you, that person can email us to
get you on the phone and ask why you're ghosting them.
So we got an email about you from somebody, Charlie,
did you know?

Speaker 5 (05:24):
Do you know who it is? Or do you think
you know who it is?

Speaker 4 (05:27):
I mean, I mean I've got a pretty good idea
right now.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
Really, who do you think it is?

Speaker 3 (05:33):
What?

Speaker 4 (05:33):
Did it happen to be Krista but Champs?

Speaker 1 (05:35):
Yes it is Christa? Yeah you got it right? You
want nothing, I guess, but yes it is Christa. Do
you mind telling us why you're ghosting Crystal? She's really
curious that she liked you a lot, but can't figure
it out.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
I feel like this some sound weird without the context,
but she's just me in an uber and I just
want any part of that. What wait, I have to explain? Okay,
we were taking an uber and she just starts just
casually singing every lyric to this early two thousands boy
band song and saying, I mean, like every single line,

(06:12):
she's doing the choreograph number and everything, and you know whatever,
I like myself she likes herself, that's cool. But in
the middle of it, I try answering her a question
and she just aggressively just like and I'm just I'm
not trying to date someone who's just comfortable disrespects me
with like a violence, you know.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Okay, if I'm disrespected with there's.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
A very disrespectful you know.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Yeah, I guess that's true. There are different ways you
can shish somebody. Yeah, and there's a disrespectful way for sure.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
Yeah. This was full, you know, finger up in the face,
spit coming out of the mouth when she so it
just wasn't a God looks.

Speaker 5 (06:54):
So that's that's it. Though.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
Other than that, it was good I mean before Yeah,
but you know, I'm sure a lot of good things
happened before terrible things happen, and you don't just look
back on the good things and.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
Try to record the bad. So, you know, life for short,
and I'm not gonna tolerate that sort of things.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Yeah, okay, before you know, you could be married for
years and then you think back, you're like, man, if
I would have just paid attention to.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
That shit, I haven't spoken in fifteen years.

Speaker 5 (07:25):
Hey, I'm walking proof. Don't let that happen to yourself.
I get it.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
Well, Charlie, thank you for being honest with us. Christa
is actually on the phone and wants to talk to you.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Wait she's here. You mean she actually let me talk without.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Us?

Speaker 4 (07:41):
What? Oh my god? It wasn't that bad? Yes, hi,
oh here? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:49):
My first stuff like for real, like, how are you
gonna ghost me over singing a song?

Speaker 4 (07:55):
I was just into it.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Do you know like music?

Speaker 5 (07:57):
Like?

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Oh no, no, I like music. It's just you're really downplaying it.
You're saying you were just singing. You were just sol
on choreography dance number like we were in a music video.
And look, I thought it was kind of cute. But
you shush me like your library on steroids or something.
And again you spit like you just turn to do
a different person. And I said it was disrespectful. Well

(08:23):
it was bye bye bye.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Like honestly, dude, who tries to chat during an InSync classic?
You know what I mean? Do you have like librarian.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
Issues or like, what's the deal? Well, it made me
want to say bye bye bye to you. Okay, it
was really disrespectful. It had made it has made the
quiet peasant energy to it and I just haven't been
just that way since third grade story time, so maybe
I do have some trauma that you're unlocking.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Thank you too, I think you too. Oh my god,
it was really meant to be a fun shoush like I. Really,
it's like you're acting to me, threw something at you
like I.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
It was like a sarcastic shush. It was a power shush.
It felt like you were establishing dominant, like you were
trying to be the alpha or something.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
For me it was playful.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
Well for me, it wasn't. And I think you were
staring the driver too. And also just remind you, I
was literally trying to ask you a question when you
did this, and it was literally me trying to say, hey,
I think our driver missed the turn, and you cut
me off with a spitty shush. And honestly, like even
the driver looked like he he gave me a look

(09:33):
as if to be like, I don't have an HR department,
but if I did, I'd be calling them right now.
That is like so dramatic.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
It was a polite.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
Shush, okay.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
I just and also, by the way, the driver was
definitely vibing with me. He knew every word too.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
It was a whole thing.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
I was setting a fun show. I was trying.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Yeah, he knew every word because he was trying to
tease you. He was scared, he was hoping. Oh maybe
if I sing along this crazy dur will stop my
windshield and make it so that I have to crash
the car because I can't see anything through it through
this glob of saliva all over the world.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Well, Charlie, would you like to go on another day
with Crystal? We'll pay for it.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
Look, I don't like being disrespected. Nobody does. And throughout
all of this I just heard a bunch of excuses.
I haven't heard any apologies or even any reasons why
I should give you another chance. So tell you what.
If you can give me a reason and I'll let
you speak without shushing you because I respect soul, then maybe,
But if not, then I'm out.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Okay, all right, I'm Charlie. I'm very sorry for the
power shush. I got lost in the moment with and
think the beat took over me.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
Here is why you should.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Definitely take me out again.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
I make really good cookies, like hands, stop eating them cookies.
I'm really Shelly, obviously and yes I do sometimes break out.
It's just spontaneous stands break but that's kind of my
love language. I have awesome relationships with both of my parents,

(11:16):
so I don't have any family drama. And I volunteer
at a rescue on weekends. So you know, if you
have a pop, then we're basically sold me.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
Charlie, I'm not gonna lie. That was pretty good, you know,
first cookies. Look, honestly, I might need to see the
therapist whatever happened to me in third grade, but uh,
apology accepted. Look on the tradition, no more weaponized session
otherwise than I will be saying bye bye bye. So
second date it is

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
