Speaker 1 (00:00):
For all you men fasts for Loving the Big Show
podcast Get Up Even Closer.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
On Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok for raw dogging four to
seven every weekday on radiorecare.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
It's fine for you to come in, pugs.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Yeah me, just go on in brother, so that we're
doing the outro.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Man, you can sit in chat if you want you
want to. You don't want to do.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
That, come on, man, oh god, yeah yeah, come on,
come and join us.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yeah yeah, just kidding, just kidding, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
What an afternoon a fellows.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
How how's that for you?

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Because for those just joining, which is everyone, just climb
to the middle of the Auckland Harbor Bridge, which actually
it takes what fifteen minutes to walk there or something,
make quite a walk to the middle of it, you
don't realize, right, And then when you get out to
the middle, you're like, oh wow, this is super high.
And then you go up this other massive staircase taking
up like another fifteen twenty menus, and it.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Is just unattached because you have the beat, you have
this attachment that. Yeah, it was I was like, you know,
there's there's spaces to fall through here.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
And it's a plunge into the ocean a park.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
You signed a waiver just letting go of the ladder alone, right,
you're climbing up a ladder staircase. Yeah, but very steep
and you can see the water throw run a wire.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Yeah you think that?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah, excellent so far. I mean you have the leash
the whole way essentially, just that last like five.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
The highest part right. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I don't even really know that they did the bungee
jump off there. I don't think.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Well, there's a shitty little pod that is mounted underneath
the middle part of the harbor bridge, right, which you
go up to on the stairs and you're just in
this glass pod which shakes with the wind in every
car that goes over, and it is terrifying.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Can I say, couldn't have picked a bit of day?
It's beautiful. It was a beautiful day.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
We were actually saying you wouldn't want to be there
when the wind was up.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
But she was a little bit windy but not too bad.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah, I think yesterday it was pretty sh Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Yeah, good good on your keysy, you did it mate, thanks.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
F fit is just fucking yes boy so sick. Yeah, yes, boy,
it's a shame you couldn't do it, Jason the end.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
But yeah, I'll be honest with you, even if I could,
I don't think I would.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
It's that scary.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yeah, it was terrifying. Like the edge of that lidge.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yeah, that would be horrendous.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
You got the death wil sit on.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
It's all fun and games, everyone's laughing, and then you're
like walking up, You're like, oh, look at the set.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
This is cool.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
And then as soon as you get up into that
pod and you see the lidge, yes it is. That's
the that's terrifying. And there's this bit in the video
which you can see on a hockey socials where they
have connected you up.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
It's around your ankles.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
You've slowly walked to the edge of the plank and
then they dropped this big thing that has all the
cord inside it at your feet.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yeah, we're gonna drop this. It's going to feel quite
heavy their lick and I feel like it's going to
pull me off. It was literally what I was just
going to say. When I did a jump fucking twenty
five years ago or something. You're standing there and it
feels like it's dragging you. That's down by your ankles,
and then of course, the moment that you leap, it
feels like nothing is attached to your legs at all.
That's right. So you go from feeling like you've been

(03:29):
dragged off to feel like the fucking l is it things? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Did they hoop that barset up or not?

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yeah, yeah, I would.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
I would imagine that one of the weirdest things too,
would be being pulled up upside down.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Oh yeah, that wouldn't be fun.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Oh is that what happened at the end. There's a
cord you directs yourself.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Yeah, I was pulled up literally sitting on a seat
going up right.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
One of the people I hadn't thought about that, one
of the people that did it. They got pulled up
the entire way upside down, and that they don't think they.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Enjoyed that at all. No, all the blood into the head, they.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Wouldn't have been able to pull the lever there was
even you had. And they were like, when you get
to the top of when you're like weightless, when you've
bounced up, pull it to the left. And I tried,
and I couldn't pull it to the left right, And
I was like, go, finally it happened. So I don't
think it was it a girl that struggled with it.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
I don't think it would matter if it was a woman.
It was one of the girls there who was like
really freaking out.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
It was a dude, yeah yeah, but I mean, having
said that, he didn't look too fast.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
But yeah, getting dragged all that way up upside down
would be henous.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
In my head, it would have happened. It was happening
the same way as it happened for me. So I
did it in topoor and there when you jump off,
then a boat comes oh no, and they detached you
from the thing, and then you get you go on
a little boat ride and this is the worst bit.
Then you've got like a twenty fucking minute walk up
back up to I was like, if they had told

(04:56):
me about this, I wouldn't have done it. Big Show
week days from four on Radio Hurarchy with the Wary
Big Show Podcast.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
I was leaping off the edge and back up on
the edge all and under a minute.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Wow, Yeah, it was pretty quick.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
I was saying to you, seeing that the whole thing
happened so quickly from you getting in there, strapping you
in and then walking out to the platform, Boom done.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
I'm going to just three to one for a little
bit of But I tell you been happily. You're not
going to not do it, are you. You're like, you
just get this.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
I reckon. There'd be quite a few turnbacks.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
Absolutely, yeah, you know, people going, actually, now, I'm not
doing this.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
When you see the video of me walking out to
the edge of the plank, I'm doing these little footsteps
and it's sort of a comic effect. But in my head,
I was like, fuck, when you just slow this walk down,
you're walking way too fast towards the edge of the
you realize what you get that you have to jump off.
And I was trying to walk slower, but I could have.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Do you know what it made me think of? What
dead Man walking?

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (05:58):
Chains, yeah, you get the injection by patsn love you man,
Thanks man, Okay, Pugsy, But you know, full credit to
your keysy and and you did well to not hesitate
and just jump you have like, because you're right, you
would have just dragged it out.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Otherwise I would have got more and more painful.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
I'm sort of used to having to do real dumb
shit onto you, like, because when I was working at
crag as well years ago that always try and get
me to do stuff, and you realize you just have
to do it with a big grin freak out a bit,
which I fucking When I was on the edge of
that thing, I was genuinely like I could quite happily
say actually, no, let's not do this, But then I thought,
there's just no way you can't do that dying and

(06:42):
the sooner you really are than being a coward.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
Honestly, it's like yeah, it's like, yeah, we're an idiot
for dying that way, but it's even worse walking back in,
like fuck that no way.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
The best the thing is as well as because he
said you'll be back up within a minute, right, And
I was like, well that the sooner I jumped, the
sooner that minute.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Starts, yeah, and I will be fucking done with that. Yeah. Yeah.
So great, great thing to do. Great thing to keep
it as you get older.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Are you going to do it again?

Speaker 2 (07:14):
If you get a charity involvement we raise one hundred
thousand dollars and the one and because what's it is,
it's how six forty I think the one in the
one in Topaul was somewhere it's forty or fifty and
then the one at Skipper's Canyon is that the original
an a year down in Queenstown there, it's like one
hundred and fifty.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Oh my god, no, nope.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
See, after I did total, I was like, it was
all right, but that one would be fucking that would
be terrible. One hundreds would that be? And weirdly, I
remember going to like a big day out over in
Australia and they had them over there. They had them
at the Big day Out. There's something about being over water.
It's fine, but they had big day outs where they
had bungee jumps over concrete. Yeah, and there's just like,

(07:57):
there's no fucking one that's not fun. No, can you
imagine because the result would be any different, But yeah,
there's something Psychologically.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
My brain was like, as I'm plumbing, I will start
to slow down and if I do end at Snaps
and I go into the water sweets, yeah, I'll be
sucked out into the the It was such a long walk,
there's no way I could swim back.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
But I was like, it'll be fine.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
But if that was yeah, even in like above the
canyon down in Queenstown, that would just be so terrifying, yeah,
the bridge.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
No, thanks, Well there's the ones where I don't know
where they are, but you dip into the water.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Yes, but you can ask for that.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
I could have done that today. Oh really, yeah, I said,
I do not want to be dunked in the water. Yes,
so they do it. It's all based on your weight
and length. Yeah, yeah, so they could have. And so
remember when we first got there and they were like,
can you put on the outfit of what you're going
to be wearing? And I was like, oh, can you
just wait me now? And then I realized, I hang on,
this is to determine how long the bungee rope is

(08:53):
going to be. Absolutely, I'll put right now, because at
first it doesn't matter. I'm like ninety you know who
just chucking it. It was like, nah, well it's done
nowt and I've got a massive headache.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
That's called how good? Yeah? All over? Well dad, and mate,
how's because your daughter was sick? Right she was? Yeah.
I dropped in the card to come on down to
the bridge there, and as I was backing out the driveway,
I got a phone call from the school and yeah,
they just said that she was sitting in there because
she was here. Last night she was in the studio, yeah,
and she fell asleep watching TV, which just does not happen.

(09:26):
That's her happiest s in the world. So we tuck
it out. Yeah, she was bagged and so then went
home and it was like, oh, well, we what were
we going to do? Tomorrow is probably going to be sick.
But she woke up in the middle of the night,
brand new yarning on and then was sweet this morning.
So I sent into school and then she was just
at school and just sitting there and just stopped talking.

(09:46):
And then they took it a sick bay and she
had like a thirty nine point one. What's a normal
temperature thirty seven? Yeah, so yeah yeah, and then.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Kids getting a fever, oh dude.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
And but the first time she got one night, you're
just fuck. It's the scariest thing in the world, isn't it.
Yet you get a few under your belt and it's
not as bad. But there's something about them when they're sick.
There is something activated in you. He really is. It's
like that it does something in your DNA, like this

(10:22):
protection things, and you're like the love just gets amped
up and they're so helpless. There's something that's it's pretty amazing.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Really it is.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Yeah, yeah, and she was. I took her home and
then you put it to bed.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Like you got one one hand, you've got keysy jumping
off a bridge. The other hand, your daughter is sick. Yeah,
straight away your brain discussed, I don't give you can
snap on the.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Yeah, I was. I really wanted to be there, but yeah,
so that was bad timing, but also good timing because
I could have also been on the bridge. That's right.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
That would have been a pain in the ass and ship.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
The other thing, too, is at least you can be
on the show today. That's right. That was good. And
then the wife came home early. Sweet, good stuff for Hershey, oh,
we're running out of time. Sweet, we'll pick it up
next week. We're probably not, probably not. Hey.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Listen to The Hudarky Big Show fotal seven every single
weekday on Radio Hdarchy.
