Devil's Tower picked for the movie? Close Encounters? Close Encounters

of the Third Kind is one of my absolute favorite movies.
Of course, it is Stephen Spielberg's nineteen seventy seven masterpiece
starring Richard Dreyfuss, Melinda Dylan, Terry Garr and I doubt
that anybody listening to this show does not like Close
(01:57):
Encounters of the third kind, and you know, it's a
great movie on any screen. But one year, Lauren and
I got to actually go watch it. It was an
anniversary year, and they played it again in the theaters
on the big screen, and it was just spectacular. One
(02:19):
of the most amazing movies I've ever watched on a
big screen. And of course in this movie, you have
all of these characters that have had they're having close encounters,
they're having these run ins with UFOs, and it turns
out that each one of them starts becoming sort of
obsessed with this image of what turns out to be
(02:44):
a rock formation. They don't know what it is at first,
they just know that after they've had this encounter, they're
drawn to this image. And there's this memorable scene where
Richard Dreyfus he's obsessing about this, and he's sitting at
dinner and his family is arguing and he's frustrated, and
(03:04):
at one point he has a plate of mashed potatoes
and he just starts playing with the mashed potatoes and
taking his fork and sort of stroking the fork up
and down until he creates this mound of mashed potatoes
that ends up looking like this rock formation that all
(03:27):
these characters are later drawn to, and that rock formation
is called Devil's Tower. And Devil's Tower is actually what
is known as a butte, and a butte is defined
as an isolated hill with steep, often vertical sides and
(03:50):
a small, relatively flat top. This particular butte, Devil's Tower,
is composed of igneous rock, and it is in the
Bare Large Ranger district of the Black Hills in northeastern Wyoming.
And this thing is it's pretty darn big. Let's see
(04:15):
the It looks just like a stone cup turned upside down,
jutting out of the landscape. It's a striking thing, and
it becomes the iconic pivotal image of the film because
this is where everybody goes, and it becomes all these
characters go there, and it becomes the landing spot for
(04:38):
the mass close encounter that happens. And so Devil's Tower,
it's let's see, eight hundred and sixty seven feet from
its base to the summit, and it's five thousand, one
hundred and twelve feet above sea level. So okay, if
we look at the height from the top to the
(04:58):
bottom eight hundred se sixty seven feet is two hundred
and sixty four meters, so that's almost three times taller
than the Statue of Liberty and almost as tall as
the Eiffel Tower, if my math is correct here. And
one thing that's especially notable about Devil's Tower is that
(05:19):
it was the very first United States national monument, established
on September twenty fourth of nineteen o six by President
Theodore Roosevelt. Okay, Teddy Roosevelt. You know, he was big
into preserving the land. By the way, September twenty fourth,
my wife Lauren's birthday. I'd never realized that before. That's
(05:40):
an interesting connection. And when you see this amazing looking structure,
there is something enchanting about it. And there is a
YouTube channel that I love to watch. It's called Jacob
the Carpetbagger. And this guy he's I guess he's probably
(06:00):
in his forties, I would imagine, and he he just
gets in his car and drives all over the United
States exploring and doing you know, like one hour videos
about roadside attractions and carnivals and fairs and just anything
that's kind of unusual. I was recently watching his channel
(06:21):
and he camped at this Koa campground at the foot
of Devil's Tower. And that's what got me thinking more
about the you know, why that Spielberg decided to use it,
and what the story was behind this thing. And in fact,
it's kind of funny because when you camp there, it
turns out in this Koa campground, of course, they have
(06:43):
a variety of cabins and different kinds of campsites, even
some teepees, but every evening everybody convenes in this common
area where they have a big screen and they all
watch Close Encounters together. They play the movie every night
in this park. So that shows you the impact that
(07:05):
the movie has made on the tower and vice versa.
And in fact, so if you haven't seen this, I
highly recommend go just get online and type in Jacob
the Carpetbagger and Devil's Tower. I think Jacob currently lives
in western North Carolina as a matter of fact, but
(07:25):
always good content from him. So here is sort of
the old Native American story behind what we call Devil's Tower.
Now and again this is igneous. So apparently this was
a volcanic structure that partially eroded over time and basically
(07:50):
it looks like that this mound has all of these
vertical ridges going up and down it, all all sides,
and there is a geologic explanation for white looks that way.
The striations have sort of eroded off in that pattern.
But according to the Native American lore that goes back
(08:11):
to who knows, when there was an incident where a
bunch of Native Americans we're being attacked by this gigantic
bear named Mato m Ato, and they were, and then
we're talking about a bear that's the size of Godzilla,
(08:33):
and so right when they are about to be gobbled up,
the great Spirit decides to lift the earth up underneath
them onto this pedestal so that Mato cannot get to them.
And so this giant bear is doing his best clawing
up and down the sides of this butte to try
(08:54):
to capture them. And that's where you get all these ridges.
They say those are the giant claw marks of the
attacking bear. And in fact, for that reason, it's often
called bear lodge or something similar to that, bear lodge,
(09:14):
bear bear teepee. So this was a sacred place because
they were saved by this bear or from this bear.
And it turns out that if you want to learn
about why it is actually called Devil's Tower. Oh yeah,
(09:37):
you know what, Before I get to that, if you
look at some of the depictions of Mato the bear,
one thing that's kind of weird is that Mato the
bear is shown as having a tail. And when Lauren
saw that, she said, why why would they put a
tail on a bear? Bears don't have a big long
it's kind of like a big long bushy tail. You know.
(09:59):
Bears may have a little, but not like a big
long bushy tail. I said, I don't know. So I
looked into it, and apparently there's this Native American story
about how that bears used to have a big, long,
bushy tail and they were very proud of it, and
it annoyed all the other animals at the forest. The
(10:19):
bears were so prideful, And one day a bear walked
up to an otter and saw that the otter had
this big, nice, impressive pile of fish, and so the
bear said, how do you get those fish? And so,
instead of telling the bear that we would drive down
(10:41):
he would dive down into the water and catch fish.
The otter decided to trick the bear, and he said, oh,
I just put my tail in this ice hole here, okay,
because there was like a frozen leg, there's a hole
in the ice. He says, I put my tail in
this hole, and I wiggled around once in a while
so the fish see it. And when a fish bites
(11:01):
onto my tail, I just pull it up and out
of the water. It's an easy way to catch fish.
And so the bear said, well, do you mind if
I use your your fishing hole, and the otter said,
oh no, go right ahead, And so the bear sticks
his tail in there and starts storing this. But then
the sun started to set and the water froze over
and it froze up the bear's tail, and the bear
(11:23):
could not move and he freaked out and he pulled
at his tail. It was stuck so tight. Finally he
just pulled with all of his strengthen ripped off his tail.
And after that the bear bear has never had a
tail again somehow. But look, we're out of time for

You know, I believe my brother in law, Charles, visited
Devil's Tower once and he was obviously impressed. I have
not made it to that part of the country, but
I believe that you can drive from there only maybe
two two and a half hours and be it Mount Rushmore. So,
(15:26):
that would be a cool little road trip to go
hit up both of those sites. And when it comes
to this name Devil's Tower, of course, I told you
about the history of the connection with the bear And
according to the National Park Service website, the first use
(15:47):
of the name Devil's Tower was by then Lieutenant Colonel
Richard Dodge in eighteen seventy five. He commanded the military
escort for a scientific expedition into the Black Hills. Keeping
a journal during this expedition, Dodge wrote that quote, the
(16:07):
Indians called this place bad God's Tower, end quote, a
name adopted with proper modification, and so the label Devil's
Tower was created. Okay, so he's saying they called it
Bad God's Tower. To him, that meant devil, so he
called it Devil's Tower. But there's no records that indicate
(16:30):
the Native Americans associated to place with bad gods or
evil spirits, and so it is suspected that a bad
translation led the men to confuse the words for bear
and bad god. Others feel Dodge deliberately changed the name
of an important indigenous site. So we just don't know,
(16:56):
but it's I think it's certainly possible that, I mean,
if the word bear and bad sounded close enough and
there were mistranslations, it makes sense that, you know, that
could be the case. So that's sort of the gist
of the story of the butte itself called what we
now call Devil's Tower. Obviously an impressive enough place to
(17:21):
be considered America's first or to be designated as America's
first National monument by President Teddy Roosevelt. So how did
this end up in the movie. Well, apparently from what
I can find here. Stephen Spielberg, of course, he wrote
Close Encounters of the third kind, and in his script,
(17:45):
he knew that he wanted some kind of a mountain
like structure, but he just didn't know exactly what it
would be. He wasn't sure what would be striking enough,
and so he sent a location scout out to look
at least one and this location scout who was in
that area, he was apparently by himself, and he said
(18:09):
that he was I've got some quotes written down here
by him. He said that he was driving through this
kind of grassy wilderness area and then he emerged in
whoa there it was, and he said, the shock of it.
It looks like something manufactured. We just liked the shape
of it, and then we found out it has this
(18:32):
great spiritual value. The solitude is amazing. Images don't do
it justice. So he said that, you know, he got
Spielberg to go out there, and Spielberg was like, yep,
this is it. It was literally just based upon the
power of seeing this thing. So that obviously, if you're
(18:54):
into this sort of thing, that gives you inspiration to
want to make the trip and go see Devil's Tower
for yourself, especially now that you know that it really
was considered a blessed place, I suppose by the Native Americans,
and still is to this day. In fact, people are
encouraged not to climb up there. I was reading something
(19:16):
about this that you might find interesting, how that let's
see here today. Okay, So there are people who want
to go there and climb, of course, and it says
fear of the tower is sacred to several plains tribes,
including the Lakota, Cheyenne, and Kiowa. Because of this, many
(19:39):
Native American leaders objected to climbers ascending the mountain, considering
this to be a desecration. The climbers argued that they
had a right to climb the tower since it is
on federal land. A compromise was eventually reached with a
voluntary climbing ban during the month of June, when the
tribes are conducting sarah onies around the monument. Climbers are asked,
(20:03):
but not required, to stay off the tower in June,
and according to a PBS documentary about this, approximately eighty
five percent of climbers honor the ban and voluntarily choose
not to climb the tower during the month of June. However,
several climbers, along with such and such foundations, sued the
(20:25):
Park Service claiming an inappropriate government entanglement with religion. So
there is a controversy about the spiritual designation as well
as the federal monument designation of Devil's Tower to this day,
but there's nothing to indicate that there's anything evil about it, right,
(20:45):
despite this very memorable name. Now, when I look at
this and I realize, all right, this is a work
of fiction, even though there's a lot of truth in
that movie. And we can see that more and more
if we look back now at some of the things
the movie was based on. But is there something valid
(21:06):
about this concept that certain places on Earth may be
vortex's for lack of a better word, that do attract
UFOs that because that we humans see something like that
and we find it so amazing looking, it would make
sense that UFOs would do the same thing. They would
(21:30):
want to come and check it out, just as tourists.
But perhaps there is an energy around it as well
that can be physically tapped into if you're using some
kind of exotic alien technology. And this reminds me of
the work that was done by Page Bryant. Page Bryant
(21:51):
was a woman who lived in Sedona, Arizona, and I'm
going to say back in the probably the late eighties
and nineteen nineties, and she was a psychic and she
went around to all these different spots in Sedona, Arizona,
and said that she believed that they were vortexas, and
these are places where funnels of energy are moving into
(22:16):
or out of the earth. And she said that some
of them were called magnetic, meaning that they would draw
energy in, and some were called electric, meaning that they
would send energy out. And she wrote a lot about this,
She talked a lot about it on the radio, and
she finally moved to western North Carolina and she wrote
(22:38):
this book about vortex is there called The Spiritual Reawakening
of the Great Smoky Mountains, which is a fascinating book.
And she said that Brown Mountain and the surrounding area,
the Lynbal Gorge, were vortexes as well. Brown Mountain is
a vortex. Table rock over there as a vortex, Hawk's
Bill as a vortex. And she describes whether they are
(22:58):
electric or magnetic in her terminology. And one evening I
was very fortunate because I got to go to her house.
She invited me and Brian Irish to spend the evening
with her and her husband, and she was very kind
answering a lot of my questions about this, and she
(23:20):
basically said that, you know, she's not a technical person,
that she doesn't know if you can go in and
measure these things that way with you know, measured the
energy flowing in or out with our current technology, but
that she just always sensed it and wrote about it
that way. And to this day, if you go to
somewhere someplace like Sedona, Arizona, you'll find these maps of
(23:42):
these different points you can hike two that are labeled
as vortexas and it's a lot of fun to do that.
But you know, North Carolina has a lot of these
sort of interesting spots. As a matter of fact, one
time I was driving east from Asheville with my buddy
k Fox. At one point we looked up above the
(24:03):
road and said, what the heck is that there was
a mountain there that looks a heck of a lot
like Devil's Tower. It's called Pilot Mountain there in North Carolina.
And we were so intrigued with Pilot Mountain that on
our way back a few days later, we stopped and
we drove up the mountain and got out some of
(24:25):
the overlooks, and it's another way. This is a bona
fide mountain. It's not as narrow as Devil's Tower. But
you know, if you're interested in this sort of thing,
check out Pilot's Pilot Mountain in North Carolina. And so
it's intriguing to me that you have a lot of
people who say there are UFOs around Brown Mountain, a
(24:49):
lot of people who say there are UFOs in fact
around that area where Pilot Mountain is. I don't know
how many people actually report seeing UFOs around Devil's Tower,
but I would not be surprised, of course, if it's
got such a reputation though that if somebody said, oh,
I went there and I saw a UFO, you would think, yeah, right,
they're just using their imagination. We need to get David,
(25:13):
We need to get Jason Sarachi out there. I believe
to do some research. In fact, a little bit later,
I'm gonna I'm up on a break here, but I'll
tell you something about Jason Saraci. And furthermore, you know,
they don't make movies anymore quite like that, do they.
(25:33):
You know, my favorite movie of all time, and this
is a tough one, but I have to go with
Raiders of the Lost Arc and of course it's also
a Spielberg movie. And when we come back from this break,
I want to tell you something kind of interesting about,
of all people, Harrison Ford, who of course starred as

Indiana Jones. It's another case. It's a movie story, but
it applies also, believe it or not to a question
that I was recently asked about manifestation tips and transforming
energy into matter and physical form and all that. I'm

to Coach. They am paranormal podcast Network. I'm your host,
Joshua P. Warren, and this is this show where the
unusual becomes usual. I was talking to someone the other
day who is new to manifestation work, and the person
(28:36):
asked me, when you are trying to come up with
what you want to manifest to materialize magically in your life,
how just how specific should you be? Should you be
so specific that you break it right down to every
little grainy detail or can you just put a few words?
(28:59):
And this is a very good question, and it comes
up a lot, and let me just say it reminds
me of I guess an experience that Lauren and I
had on Sunday, October fourteenth of two thy eighteen, around
(29:22):
twelve forty five pm. How's that for specific. We were
in Hollywood, in California, the real Hollywood, and I believe
that this was like the day after I'd done an
event there. I'm not one hundred percent sure. I think
that that was the time of the trip. Might've even
(29:43):
been a wishing machine workshop. I didn't go back and
check the dates. But there was this movie that had
just come out, I believe, produced by Steven Spielberg, called
First Man, starring Ryan Gosling, and it was about Armstrong's
journey to be the first man to walk on the Moon.
(30:06):
And I had thought, well, while we were in Hollywood,
why don't we go watch it on a big impressive screen,
because I imagine these will be some epic shots. And
so we went to what they called the TCL Chinese Theater,
that's what they call it now. It was originally Grahman's
Chinese Theater, and it was renamed Man's Chinese Theater in
(30:30):
nineteen seventy three and then reverted to its original name
in two thousand and one, and then in twenty thirteen,
a Chinese electronics manufacturer TCL Corporation purchased the naming rights,
and so now it's you know, it's the TCL Chinese Theater.
And this it was originally built in nineteen twenty two
(30:55):
or opened that year, and it was following the success
of Grahman's Egyptian Theater, so they were looking at, you know,
these kind of exotic styles. But anyway, look, this place
has an amazing history. It's teamed up with Imax. Now,
I mean, a lot of the biggest movies ever debuted there,
including Star Wars in nineteen seventy seven. There have been
(31:18):
a lot of big private events there, three Academy Awards ceremonies.
It just seemed like a really cool place to go
and watch this epic film. And so we arrived, oh,
I don't know, maybe like an hour before showtime, and
we were in the lobby and there weren't very many
(31:39):
people around, and there was a bar, so we decided
to have a drink before we went in to watch
the movie, and since we were the only people at
the bar, we started having a pretty interesting conversation with
the bartender and she had worked there for a long time,
(32:00):
knowing that it has this reputation. I said to the
bartender at some point, well have you ever had any
run ins with celebrities here? And she goes, oh, yeah,
yeah all the time, and she started telling his stories,
and somehow or other, well I probably asked her about
(32:22):
like what certain celebrities drink or whatever, and I think
she was the one who actually brought up Harrison Ford. Now,
Harrison Ford, of course is he's famous for a lot
of reasons. One of them is being very healthy. He's
I guess in his eighties now, and you know, he
looks like he's just as healthy as ever. I mean
he's I think he says all he eats is bland
(32:42):
stuff like fish and vegetables, and then he exercises his
butt off every day. But I do know, I think
I've read that he has a Scotch that he likes occasionally.
But anyway, he was there for some kind of a
p and she was serving drinks at this special VIP
(33:04):
area for the big celebrities, and so she asked him
if he would like a drink, and he kind of
grumbles a little bit like, uh, I don't know, and
the she's and she says, well, we've got beer and wine,
and and he goes, okay, I'll uh, I'll take a
(33:27):
glass with just just this much beer in it. And
he and he shows with his fingers maybe like, you know,
maybe two inches of beer. So I'll have a glass
with this much beer in it. She goes, okay. So
she pours him the glass and she hands it to
him and she said. He goes, I told you just
this much. That's way too much beer. And he's and
(33:50):
he's just really gruff and unhappy that she has poured
a little too much beer in this glass. I don't
know if he was joking or not. You know, it's
one of those things like I've always enjoyed his movies
so much. I'd never want to meet him because what
if I you know, he said something that hit me
the wrong way. But anyhow, the point is, she said
(34:13):
to me, you know, rich people are very specific. I've
noticed that rich people are very specific and with what
they want. And I thought that's an interesting point coming
from someone like her, who's around not just rich people,
but people who have these giant egos and who also
are part of the manifestation business. I mean, what are
(34:36):
movies other than a collective manifestation, you know, taking ideas
and turning them into this experience. And so you might
look at that and say, well, hey, if people like
him are very, very specific, then that's a good thing.
But on the other hand, I tend to believe that
(34:58):
there needs to be uh, some greater consideration. Let me explain.
In my book Use the Force, a Jedi's Guide to
the Law of Attraction, which you can read for free
if you go to my website Joshua Pwarren dot com,
there's a section and it's called specific but not too specific,
(35:19):
and this applies to any kind of technique that you're
using to try to manifest something. And let me just
read this little portion for you. I have stressed the
importance of being specific in your wishes. However, in some
cases you can be so specific that your wish will
not come true, most especially when other living beings, particularly people,
(35:41):
are involved. Human energy is extremely complex and interfering with
another's life path can have unforeseen consequences. You should therefore
avoid trying to attract a particular person, for example, as
you would like an ideal mate, then wish for or
quote your ideal mate. Do not, however, wish for a
(36:04):
certain individual. You may think someone in particular is perfect
for you, but you are not omniscient. The universe is
always a much better judge of what is suited to
you and what will satisfy your needs. It is helpful
to think of childhood crushes. Maybe at a certain age
you felt someone would be your dream partner, and then
ten years later you look back with an experienced eye
(36:27):
to see this person was not right at all for you. Furthermore,
being too specific also applies to some inanimate objects as well.
If I want an Aston Martin car, I should be
able to manifest that. If I want an Aston Martin
dB five, that may be slightly more difficult to manifest.
(36:49):
But if I want the Aston Martin dB five that
Sean Connery actually drove in the movie Goldfinger, this may
be such an impossible goal that it is not worth
my time to envision. So always think about getting the
most bang for your buck, so to speak. So as
you can see, there's not really a hard and fast
(37:12):
rule there, but you just have to consider that the
less specific you are, the more likely you are to
get what you want in some cases. And then the
more specific you are, the more likely you are in
some cases. But I think that's something that you just
(37:33):
have to take on a case per case basis and
figure out with practice and experience and trial and error.
But I don't know how helpful that was, but it
certainly made me think of it when I got that question.
But you know, getting back to the movie thing that
(37:54):
we're talking about in general. You know, at my house,
we've recently been watching a lot of the old three
D movies you can get them on DVD where they
have the red and blue and a glyph I believe
they're called, and you wear the red and blue glasses.
And we have like, you know, Creature from the Black
Lagoon and Jaws and you know, all this kind of
(38:17):
stuff that you can that you can watch in three D,
and it's it's kind of like being back in that
I you know, I didn't live in the nineteen fifties,
but it's similar to that feeling. I guess a lot
of these movies that you we would consider schlock and uh,
I started thinking about that word shlock. Where does that?

You do know?

Where lord schlock comes from? Turns out it's a Yiddish word. Well,
It comes from this Yiddish word s h l a k,
which means junk or junkie. But if you if you're
interested in just getting some of these old like DVDs
that have the red blue thing that you can watch

with the glasses, there's a very cool website called DVD
Rparty dot com. I'm not being paid to promote this,
but it's just something that you might enjoy if you

I have seen his footage on TV before, but I
think this is the first time I've seen Jason actually
sit down. He was on this show called Alien Encounters

Fact or Fiction, hosted by Mitch Horowitz and Chrissy Newton,
and basically those two are sitting in a bar in Roswell,
New Mexico, and throughout the show people come in who
believe they have evidence of UFOs or aliens and they
share the evidence and then Chrissy and Mitch evaluate it
(42:57):
and say whether or not they think it's it's or
if there's a more basic explanation than jumping to a
UFO or extraterrestrial conclusion. And Jason went on the show.
He drove all the way down to Roswell to present
a piece of footage that he shot here near Vegas
(43:18):
at night with night vision, showing some type of a
strange light with another light that ejects from it. And
I think it's very impressive looking. In fact, it reminds
me of a piece of footage that I got during
broad daylight here in Las Vegas using my high speed
(43:38):
camera in which you see some white object that has
a second object that ejects from it. And so I
don't want to spoil it for you and tell you
what the result was, but Jason did an excellent job.
I was very impressed with the way he presented his case,
and so it should be on Discovery Plus. If you

out recently, and go to episode seven and I think
about three quarters of the way through you'll see the
segment with Jason Sarachi. But he did a real good job.
Now I told you have a little bit of sad

news for you. Those of you who have followed my
work for a long time may recall one edition I
did of my podcast called Joshua P. Warren Daily. If
you've never heard of that, just do a search a
Google search for Joshua P. Warren Daily. There's over five
(44:42):
hundred of them, all for free and commercial free. And
I posted one it looks like on July twenty eighth
of twenty nineteen, called Listen to what Happened When I
watched a Giraffe Paint a Picture? And that segment or
that show is about Lauren and myself traveling to this
(45:07):
lion habitat which is here near Las Vegas, and of
course they used to have a lot of big cats here.
Lions and tigers, and when they stopped using those, they
retired them all to this refuge, the Lion Habitat, And
so now you can go there and it's sort of
like a little zoo where you can go and walk
(45:28):
around and see these It's pretty pretty wild experience, you know,
they have like the MGM lion and all that kind
of thing. But for some reason, they also had this
giraffe there named Ozzy, and Ozzy was like no other
draft I've ever seen. A lot of times drafts seem
kind of aloof this giraffe was different. It seemed to
(45:51):
have a presence about it. As weird as that sounds.
Ozzy would just stand right there and look at you
and they he had just this amazing, amazing spirit, and
he was very talented. What his shtick was he would
paint pictures, and so people would gather around. They had
(46:15):
a little comedy routine they would do with him. And
usually what they would do is have him take different
paint brushes and paint one big painting and then they
would cut it up in the little pieces and sell
it off. And I went to afterward. I was so
impressed that I said to the folks who work there,
are like, look, I just keep it all intact. I
just want to buy the whole thing, and they're like,
(46:37):
nobody's ever done that before, said I want to do it.
So sure enough I bought the entire intact picture, and
I'm very proud to say that it hangs on the
wall of our living room next to a big stuff giraffe.
And we just loved I think everybody loved Ozzy because
that well, we even talked about how that if we
(47:01):
had the means, we would try to buy him and
take care of him. He was born in Wichita, Kansas,
and let's see, he was let's see, grew to be
seventeen feet tall. Well, anyway, he just recently turned ten
years old, and there was very sad news that broke
(47:26):
that in the I guess like in the early morning hours,
something disturbed him, something scared him. They don't say exactly
what it is, but he jumped up out of his
sleep and he fell somehow and hurt himself and he died.
So for those of you who followed this story, yes
(47:47):
it's heartrenching. We actually shed a tear when we found
that Ozzie the Giraffe is with us no more. But
now the painting, I suppose is even more precious to
have that whole attact painting by this giraffe. And the
funny thing is it kind of the painting kind of
(48:09):
looks like if you use your imagination, it kind of
looks like to me, the head of a giraffe. We'll
see if we can get that put up on my
Instagram page for you. The Joshua it's a new Instagram page,
so we still only have like maybe a couple hundred followers,
(48:29):
so go check it out though, if you're an instagrammer,

try to grow this thing and post more pictures. In fact,
another weird animal picture that we need to post is
something that was recently featured on the Coast to Coast
am website, and there was an article written by Tim
(48:52):
Banal and it says Bigfoot photographed by game camera and
North Carolina question mark, and he writes, a fantastic game
camera photo from North Carolina shows a remarkably clear view
of what appears to be a mysterious bipedal creature that
some believe could be Bigfoot. The eyebrow raising image reportedly
(49:16):
emerged earlier by let's okay, so somebody just posted this
on Reddit apparently, and it seems a little bit cloudy
where it came from. Some people think it's like a
dog man or whatever, but so apparently, from what I
can tell, this is just a still image from a
game camp at night. So it's black and white, and
(49:39):
let me try to describe what this creature looks like.
It does look very weird at first. Okay, basically, it
does look by pedal. In other words, it's got two legs.
It looks like it's standing on two legs, and it
has this oval shaped body, not much of a head,
(50:01):
as if it might be hunching over it. You can
see what looks like possibly a bit of an arm,
and it's covered with this thin layer of dark hair,
and the skin that you can see underneath looks rather wrinkly.
(50:22):
And I can see why if you caught this thing
on a game cam you would kind of be freaking out.
And so I wasn't sure what to make of this,
but I do know that you can get some very
unusual optical illusions when you take pictures of animals from
certain angles, especially at night, when there are all these
(50:43):
shadows playing with things. So I sent it out there
and got feedback. And you know, I tell you, the
number one animal expert that I always have to go
to is my wife Lauren, because she is just basically
all she does is watch animal videos all the time.
(51:05):
She she's practically a zoologist. I mean, she can name
every kind of little weird species of animal. She looked
at it and she said, this is an odd angle
of the backside of a mangy bear. And to prove it,
she put some other pictures that she posted while she
(51:27):
sent them to me, and I posted them of mangy bears,
and I got to say, it looks a lot like
this is probably a Mainngi bear to me. But I
would like for you to look and make your own
your own decisions. So what we're going to try to
do here again on the Instagram page is we'll put
a still of this thing as well as some of
(51:49):
the pictures that she dug up of a mangie bear,
and you can decide for yourself. I actually have another
funny story to share with you about imagery and optical ILLUSI,
but apparently the clock has goddess, so that'll have to

Devil's Tower picked for the movie? Close Encounters? Close Encounters
(01:34):
of the Third Kind is one of my absolute favorite movies.
Of course, it is Stephen Spielberg's nineteen seventy seven masterpiece
starring Richard Dreyfuss, Melinda Dylan, Terry Garr and I doubt
that anybody listening to this show does not like Close
(01:57):
Encounters of the third kind, and you know, it's a
great movie on any screen. But one year, Lauren and
I got to actually go watch it. It was an
anniversary year, and they played it again in the theaters
on the big screen, and it was just spectacular. One
(02:19):
of the most amazing movies I've ever watched on a
big screen. And of course in this movie, you have
all of these characters that have had they're having close encounters,
they're having these run ins with UFOs, and it turns
out that each one of them starts becoming sort of
obsessed with this image of what turns out to be
(02:44):
a rock formation. They don't know what it is at first,
they just know that after they've had this encounter, they're
drawn to this image. And there's this memorable scene where
Richard Dreyfus he's obsessing about this, and he's sitting at
dinner and his family is arguing and he's frustrated, and
(03:04):
at one point he has a plate of mashed potatoes
and he just starts playing with the mashed potatoes and
taking his fork and sort of stroking the fork up
and down until he creates this mound of mashed potatoes
that ends up looking like this rock formation that all
(03:27):
these characters are later drawn to, and that rock formation
is called Devil's Tower. And Devil's Tower is actually what
is known as a butte, and a butte is defined
as an isolated hill with steep, often vertical sides and
(03:50):
a small, relatively flat top. This particular butte, Devil's Tower,
is composed of igneous rock, and it is in the
Bare Large Ranger district of the Black Hills in northeastern Wyoming.
And this thing is it's pretty darn big. Let's see
(04:15):
the It looks just like a stone cup turned upside down,
jutting out of the landscape. It's a striking thing, and
it becomes the iconic pivotal image of the film because
this is where everybody goes, and it becomes all these
characters go there, and it becomes the landing spot for
(04:38):
the mass close encounter that happens. And so Devil's Tower,
it's let's see, eight hundred and sixty seven feet from
its base to the summit, and it's five thousand, one
hundred and twelve feet above sea level. So okay, if
we look at the height from the top to the
(04:58):
bottom eight hundred se sixty seven feet is two hundred
and sixty four meters, so that's almost three times taller
than the Statue of Liberty and almost as tall as
the Eiffel Tower, if my math is correct here. And
one thing that's especially notable about Devil's Tower is that
(05:19):
it was the very first United States national monument, established
on September twenty fourth of nineteen o six by President
Theodore Roosevelt. Okay, Teddy Roosevelt. You know, he was big
into preserving the land. By the way, September twenty fourth,
my wife Lauren's birthday. I'd never realized that before. That's
(05:40):
an interesting connection. And when you see this amazing looking structure,
there is something enchanting about it. And there is a
YouTube channel that I love to watch. It's called Jacob
the Carpetbagger. And this guy he's I guess he's probably
(06:00):
in his forties, I would imagine, and he he just
gets in his car and drives all over the United
States exploring and doing you know, like one hour videos
about roadside attractions and carnivals and fairs and just anything
that's kind of unusual. I was recently watching his channel
(06:21):
and he camped at this Koa campground at the foot
of Devil's Tower. And that's what got me thinking more
about the you know, why that Spielberg decided to use it,
and what the story was behind this thing. And in fact,
it's kind of funny because when you camp there, it
turns out in this Koa campground, of course, they have
(06:43):
a variety of cabins and different kinds of campsites, even
some teepees, but every evening everybody convenes in this common
area where they have a big screen and they all
watch Close Encounters together. They play the movie every night
in this park. So that shows you the impact that
(07:05):
the movie has made on the tower and vice versa.
And in fact, so if you haven't seen this, I
highly recommend go just get online and type in Jacob
the Carpetbagger and Devil's Tower. I think Jacob currently lives
in western North Carolina as a matter of fact, but
(07:25):
always good content from him. So here is sort of
the old Native American story behind what we call Devil's Tower.
Now and again this is igneous. So apparently this was
a volcanic structure that partially eroded over time and basically
(07:50):
it looks like that this mound has all of these
vertical ridges going up and down it, all all sides,
and there is a geologic explanation for white looks that way.
The striations have sort of eroded off in that pattern.
But according to the Native American lore that goes back
(08:11):
to who knows, when there was an incident where a
bunch of Native Americans we're being attacked by this gigantic
bear named Mato m Ato, and they were, and then
we're talking about a bear that's the size of Godzilla,
(08:33):
and so right when they are about to be gobbled up,
the great Spirit decides to lift the earth up underneath
them onto this pedestal so that Mato cannot get to them.
And so this giant bear is doing his best clawing
up and down the sides of this butte to try
(08:54):
to capture them. And that's where you get all these ridges.
They say those are the giant claw marks of the
attacking bear. And in fact, for that reason, it's often
called bear lodge or something similar to that, bear lodge,
(09:14):
bear bear teepee. So this was a sacred place because
they were saved by this bear or from this bear.
And it turns out that if you want to learn
about why it is actually called Devil's Tower. Oh yeah,
(09:37):
you know what, Before I get to that, if you
look at some of the depictions of Mato the bear,
one thing that's kind of weird is that Mato the
bear is shown as having a tail. And when Lauren
saw that, she said, why why would they put a
tail on a bear? Bears don't have a big long
it's kind of like a big long bushy tail. You know.
(09:59):
Bears may have a little, but not like a big
long bushy tail. I said, I don't know. So I
looked into it, and apparently there's this Native American story
about how that bears used to have a big, long,
bushy tail and they were very proud of it, and
it annoyed all the other animals at the forest. The
(10:19):
bears were so prideful, And one day a bear walked
up to an otter and saw that the otter had
this big, nice, impressive pile of fish, and so the
bear said, how do you get those fish? And so,
instead of telling the bear that we would drive down
(10:41):
he would dive down into the water and catch fish.
The otter decided to trick the bear, and he said, oh,
I just put my tail in this ice hole here, okay,
because there was like a frozen leg, there's a hole
in the ice. He says, I put my tail in
this hole, and I wiggled around once in a while
so the fish see it. And when a fish bites
(11:01):
onto my tail, I just pull it up and out
of the water. It's an easy way to catch fish.
And so the bear said, well, do you mind if
I use your your fishing hole, and the otter said,
oh no, go right ahead, And so the bear sticks
his tail in there and starts storing this. But then
the sun started to set and the water froze over
and it froze up the bear's tail, and the bear
(11:23):
could not move and he freaked out and he pulled
at his tail. It was stuck so tight. Finally he
just pulled with all of his strengthen ripped off his tail.
And after that the bear bear has never had a
tail again somehow. But look, we're out of time for

You know, I believe my brother in law, Charles, visited
Devil's Tower once and he was obviously impressed. I have
not made it to that part of the country, but
I believe that you can drive from there only maybe
two two and a half hours and be it Mount Rushmore. So,
(15:26):
that would be a cool little road trip to go
hit up both of those sites. And when it comes
to this name Devil's Tower, of course, I told you
about the history of the connection with the bear And
according to the National Park Service website, the first use
(15:47):
of the name Devil's Tower was by then Lieutenant Colonel
Richard Dodge in eighteen seventy five. He commanded the military
escort for a scientific expedition into the Black Hills. Keeping
a journal during this expedition, Dodge wrote that quote, the
(16:07):
Indians called this place bad God's Tower, end quote, a
name adopted with proper modification, and so the label Devil's
Tower was created. Okay, so he's saying they called it
Bad God's Tower. To him, that meant devil, so he
called it Devil's Tower. But there's no records that indicate
(16:30):
the Native Americans associated to place with bad gods or
evil spirits, and so it is suspected that a bad
translation led the men to confuse the words for bear
and bad god. Others feel Dodge deliberately changed the name
of an important indigenous site. So we just don't know,
(16:56):
but it's I think it's certainly possible that, I mean,
if the word bear and bad sounded close enough and
there were mistranslations, it makes sense that, you know, that
could be the case. So that's sort of the gist
of the story of the butte itself called what we
now call Devil's Tower. Obviously an impressive enough place to
(17:21):
be considered America's first or to be designated as America's
first National monument by President Teddy Roosevelt. So how did
this end up in the movie. Well, apparently from what
I can find here. Stephen Spielberg, of course, he wrote
Close Encounters of the third kind, and in his script,
(17:45):
he knew that he wanted some kind of a mountain
like structure, but he just didn't know exactly what it
would be. He wasn't sure what would be striking enough,
and so he sent a location scout out to look
at least one and this location scout who was in
that area, he was apparently by himself, and he said
(18:09):
that he was I've got some quotes written down here
by him. He said that he was driving through this
kind of grassy wilderness area and then he emerged in
whoa there it was, and he said, the shock of it.
It looks like something manufactured. We just liked the shape
of it, and then we found out it has this
(18:32):
great spiritual value. The solitude is amazing. Images don't do
it justice. So he said that, you know, he got
Spielberg to go out there, and Spielberg was like, yep,
this is it. It was literally just based upon the
power of seeing this thing. So that obviously, if you're
(18:54):
into this sort of thing, that gives you inspiration to
want to make the trip and go see Devil's Tower
for yourself, especially now that you know that it really
was considered a blessed place, I suppose by the Native Americans,
and still is to this day. In fact, people are
encouraged not to climb up there. I was reading something
(19:16):
about this that you might find interesting, how that let's
see here today. Okay, So there are people who want
to go there and climb, of course, and it says
fear of the tower is sacred to several plains tribes,
including the Lakota, Cheyenne, and Kiowa. Because of this, many
(19:39):
Native American leaders objected to climbers ascending the mountain, considering
this to be a desecration. The climbers argued that they
had a right to climb the tower since it is
on federal land. A compromise was eventually reached with a
voluntary climbing ban during the month of June, when the
tribes are conducting sarah onies around the monument. Climbers are asked,
(20:03):
but not required, to stay off the tower in June,
and according to a PBS documentary about this, approximately eighty
five percent of climbers honor the ban and voluntarily choose
not to climb the tower during the month of June. However,
several climbers, along with such and such foundations, sued the
(20:25):
Park Service claiming an inappropriate government entanglement with religion. So
there is a controversy about the spiritual designation as well
as the federal monument designation of Devil's Tower to this day,
but there's nothing to indicate that there's anything evil about it, right,
(20:45):
despite this very memorable name. Now, when I look at
this and I realize, all right, this is a work
of fiction, even though there's a lot of truth in
that movie. And we can see that more and more
if we look back now at some of the things
the movie was based on. But is there something valid
(21:06):
about this concept that certain places on Earth may be
vortex's for lack of a better word, that do attract
UFOs that because that we humans see something like that
and we find it so amazing looking, it would make
sense that UFOs would do the same thing. They would
(21:30):
want to come and check it out, just as tourists.
But perhaps there is an energy around it as well
that can be physically tapped into if you're using some
kind of exotic alien technology. And this reminds me of
the work that was done by Page Bryant. Page Bryant
(21:51):
was a woman who lived in Sedona, Arizona, and I'm
going to say back in the probably the late eighties
and nineteen nineties, and she was a psychic and she
went around to all these different spots in Sedona, Arizona,
and said that she believed that they were vortexas, and
these are places where funnels of energy are moving into
(22:16):
or out of the earth. And she said that some
of them were called magnetic, meaning that they would draw
energy in, and some were called electric, meaning that they
would send energy out. And she wrote a lot about this,
She talked a lot about it on the radio, and
she finally moved to western North Carolina and she wrote
(22:38):
this book about vortex is there called The Spiritual Reawakening
of the Great Smoky Mountains, which is a fascinating book.
And she said that Brown Mountain and the surrounding area,
the Lynbal Gorge, were vortexes as well. Brown Mountain is
a vortex. Table rock over there as a vortex, Hawk's
Bill as a vortex. And she describes whether they are
(22:58):
electric or magnetic in her terminology. And one evening I
was very fortunate because I got to go to her house.
She invited me and Brian Irish to spend the evening
with her and her husband, and she was very kind
answering a lot of my questions about this, and she
(23:20):
basically said that, you know, she's not a technical person,
that she doesn't know if you can go in and
measure these things that way with you know, measured the
energy flowing in or out with our current technology, but
that she just always sensed it and wrote about it
that way. And to this day, if you go to
somewhere someplace like Sedona, Arizona, you'll find these maps of
(23:42):
these different points you can hike two that are labeled
as vortexas and it's a lot of fun to do that.
But you know, North Carolina has a lot of these
sort of interesting spots. As a matter of fact, one
time I was driving east from Asheville with my buddy
k Fox. At one point we looked up above the
(24:03):
road and said, what the heck is that there was
a mountain there that looks a heck of a lot
like Devil's Tower. It's called Pilot Mountain there in North Carolina.
And we were so intrigued with Pilot Mountain that on
our way back a few days later, we stopped and
we drove up the mountain and got out some of
(24:25):
the overlooks, and it's another way. This is a bona
fide mountain. It's not as narrow as Devil's Tower. But
you know, if you're interested in this sort of thing,
check out Pilot's Pilot Mountain in North Carolina. And so
it's intriguing to me that you have a lot of
people who say there are UFOs around Brown Mountain, a
(24:49):
lot of people who say there are UFOs in fact
around that area where Pilot Mountain is. I don't know
how many people actually report seeing UFOs around Devil's Tower,
but I would not be surprised, of course, if it's
got such a reputation though that if somebody said, oh,
I went there and I saw a UFO, you would think, yeah, right,
they're just using their imagination. We need to get David,
(25:13):
We need to get Jason Sarachi out there. I believe
to do some research. In fact, a little bit later,
I'm gonna I'm up on a break here, but I'll
tell you something about Jason Saraci. And furthermore, you know,
they don't make movies anymore quite like that, do they.
(25:33):
You know, my favorite movie of all time, and this
is a tough one, but I have to go with
Raiders of the Lost Arc and of course it's also
a Spielberg movie. And when we come back from this break,
I want to tell you something kind of interesting about,
of all people, Harrison Ford, who of course starred as
(25:58):
Indiana Jones. It's another case. It's a movie story, but
it applies also, believe it or not to a question
that I was recently asked about manifestation tips and transforming
energy into matter and physical form and all that. I'm

unusual becomes usual. I was talking to someone the other
day who is new to manifestation work, and the person
(28:36):
asked me, when you are trying to come up with
what you want to manifest to materialize magically in your life,
how just how specific should you be? Should you be
so specific that you break it right down to every
little grainy detail or can you just put a few words?
(28:59):
And this is a very good question, and it comes
up a lot, and let me just say it reminds
me of I guess an experience that Lauren and I
had on Sunday, October fourteenth of two thy eighteen, around
(29:22):
twelve forty five pm. How's that for specific. We were
in Hollywood, in California, the real Hollywood, and I believe
that this was like the day after I'd done an
event there. I'm not one hundred percent sure. I think
that that was the time of the trip. Might've even
(29:43):
been a wishing machine workshop. I didn't go back and
check the dates. But there was this movie that had
just come out, I believe, produced by Steven Spielberg, called
First Man, starring Ryan Gosling, and it was about Armstrong's
journey to be the first man to walk on the Moon.
(30:06):
And I had thought, well, while we were in Hollywood,
why don't we go watch it on a big impressive screen,
because I imagine these will be some epic shots. And
so we went to what they called the TCL Chinese Theater,
that's what they call it now. It was originally Grahman's
Chinese Theater, and it was renamed Man's Chinese Theater in
(30:30):
nineteen seventy three and then reverted to its original name
in two thousand and one, and then in twenty thirteen,
a Chinese electronics manufacturer TCL Corporation purchased the naming rights,
and so now it's you know, it's the TCL Chinese Theater.
And this it was originally built in nineteen twenty two
(30:55):
or opened that year, and it was following the success
of Grahman's Egyptian Theater, so they were looking at, you know,
these kind of exotic styles. But anyway, look, this place
has an amazing history. It's teamed up with Imax. Now,
I mean, a lot of the biggest movies ever debuted there,
including Star Wars in nineteen seventy seven. There have been
(31:18):
a lot of big private events there, three Academy Awards ceremonies.
It just seemed like a really cool place to go
and watch this epic film. And so we arrived, oh,
I don't know, maybe like an hour before showtime, and
we were in the lobby and there weren't very many
(31:39):
people around, and there was a bar, so we decided
to have a drink before we went in to watch
the movie, and since we were the only people at
the bar, we started having a pretty interesting conversation with
the bartender and she had worked there for a long time,
(32:00):
knowing that it has this reputation. I said to the
bartender at some point, well have you ever had any
run ins with celebrities here? And she goes, oh, yeah,
yeah all the time, and she started telling his stories,
and somehow or other, well I probably asked her about
(32:22):
like what certain celebrities drink or whatever, and I think
she was the one who actually brought up Harrison Ford. Now,
Harrison Ford, of course is he's famous for a lot
of reasons. One of them is being very healthy. He's
I guess in his eighties now, and you know, he
looks like he's just as healthy as ever. I mean
he's I think he says all he eats is bland
(32:42):
stuff like fish and vegetables, and then he exercises his
butt off every day. But I do know, I think
I've read that he has a Scotch that he likes occasionally.
But anyway, he was there for some kind of a
p and she was serving drinks at this special VIP
(33:04):
area for the big celebrities, and so she asked him
if he would like a drink, and he kind of
grumbles a little bit like, uh, I don't know, and
the she's and she says, well, we've got beer and wine,
and and he goes, okay, I'll uh, I'll take a
(33:27):
glass with just just this much beer in it. And
he and he shows with his fingers maybe like, you know,
maybe two inches of beer. So I'll have a glass
with this much beer in it. She goes, okay. So
she pours him the glass and she hands it to
him and she said. He goes, I told you just
this much. That's way too much beer. And he's and
(33:50):
he's just really gruff and unhappy that she has poured
a little too much beer in this glass. I don't
know if he was joking or not. You know, it's
one of those things like I've always enjoyed his movies
so much. I'd never want to meet him because what
if I you know, he said something that hit me
the wrong way. But anyhow, the point is, she said
(34:13):
to me, you know, rich people are very specific. I've
noticed that rich people are very specific and with what
they want. And I thought that's an interesting point coming
from someone like her, who's around not just rich people,
but people who have these giant egos and who also
are part of the manifestation business. I mean, what are
(34:36):
movies other than a collective manifestation, you know, taking ideas
and turning them into this experience. And so you might
look at that and say, well, hey, if people like
him are very, very specific, then that's a good thing.
But on the other hand, I tend to believe that
(34:58):
there needs to be uh, some greater consideration. Let me explain.
In my book Use the Force, a Jedi's Guide to
the Law of Attraction, which you can read for free
if you go to my website Joshua Pwarren dot com,
there's a section and it's called specific but not too specific,
(35:19):
and this applies to any kind of technique that you're
using to try to manifest something. And let me just
read this little portion for you. I have stressed the
importance of being specific in your wishes. However, in some
cases you can be so specific that your wish will
not come true, most especially when other living beings, particularly people,
(35:41):
are involved. Human energy is extremely complex and interfering with
another's life path can have unforeseen consequences. You should therefore
avoid trying to attract a particular person, for example, as
you would like an ideal mate, then wish for or
quote your ideal mate. Do not, however, wish for a
(36:04):
certain individual. You may think someone in particular is perfect
for you, but you are not omniscient. The universe is
always a much better judge of what is suited to
you and what will satisfy your needs. It is helpful
to think of childhood crushes. Maybe at a certain age
you felt someone would be your dream partner, and then
ten years later you look back with an experienced eye
(36:27):
to see this person was not right at all for you. Furthermore,
being too specific also applies to some inanimate objects as well.
If I want an Aston Martin car, I should be
able to manifest that. If I want an Aston Martin
dB five, that may be slightly more difficult to manifest.
(36:49):
But if I want the Aston Martin dB five that
Sean Connery actually drove in the movie Goldfinger, this may
be such an impossible goal that it is not worth
my time to envision. So always think about getting the
most bang for your buck, so to speak. So as
you can see, there's not really a hard and fast
(37:12):
rule there, but you just have to consider that the
less specific you are, the more likely you are to
get what you want in some cases. And then the
more specific you are, the more likely you are in
some cases. But I think that's something that you just
(37:33):
have to take on a case per case basis and
figure out with practice and experience and trial and error.
But I don't know how helpful that was, but it
certainly made me think of it when I got that question.
But you know, getting back to the movie thing that
(37:54):
we're talking about in general. You know, at my house,
we've recently been watching a lot of the old three
D movies you can get them on DVD where they
have the red and blue and a glyph I believe
they're called, and you wear the red and blue glasses.
And we have like, you know, Creature from the Black
Lagoon and Jaws and you know, all this kind of
(38:17):
stuff that you can that you can watch in three D,
and it's it's kind of like being back in that
I you know, I didn't live in the nineteen fifties,
but it's similar to that feeling. I guess a lot
of these movies that you we would consider schlock and uh,
I started thinking about that word shlock. Where does that?
Speaker 6 (38:40):
You do know?
Speaker 4 (38:40):
Where lord schlock comes from? Turns out it's a Yiddish word. Well,
It comes from this Yiddish word s h l a k,
which means junk or junkie. But if you if you're
interested in just getting some of these old like DVDs
that have the red blue thing that you can watch
(39:01):
with the glasses, there's a very cool website called DVD
Rparty dot com. I'm not being paid to promote this,
but it's just something that you might enjoy if you
like the stuff that I like. DVD Rparty dot com
and they provide just tons of these older three D
movies like that, including some stuff that you know, well,
(39:22):
some stuff that is well, let me just put it
this way. There's a lot of schlock, okay, but I
miss the days when people made movies like that. Not
everything needs to have some serious social agenda. Well, when

I have seen his footage on TV before, but I
think this is the first time I've seen Jason actually
sit down. He was on this show called Alien Encounters
(42:32):
Fact or Fiction, hosted by Mitch Horowitz and Chrissy Newton,
and basically those two are sitting in a bar in Roswell,
New Mexico, and throughout the show people come in who
believe they have evidence of UFOs or aliens and they
share the evidence and then Chrissy and Mitch evaluate it
(42:57):
and say whether or not they think it's it's or
if there's a more basic explanation than jumping to a
UFO or extraterrestrial conclusion. And Jason went on the show.
He drove all the way down to Roswell to present
a piece of footage that he shot here near Vegas
(43:18):
at night with night vision, showing some type of a
strange light with another light that ejects from it. And
I think it's very impressive looking. In fact, it reminds
me of a piece of footage that I got during
broad daylight here in Las Vegas using my high speed
(43:38):
camera in which you see some white object that has
a second object that ejects from it. And so I
don't want to spoil it for you and tell you
what the result was, but Jason did an excellent job.
I was very impressed with the way he presented his case,
and so it should be on Discovery Plus. If you
(44:00):
can access that, just go to do a search for
Alien Encounters Factor Fiction. It's a news show just came
out recently, and go to episode seven and I think
about three quarters of the way through you'll see the
segment with Jason Sarachi. But he did a real good job.
Now I told you have a little bit of sad
(44:22):
news for you. Those of you who have followed my
work for a long time may recall one edition I
did of my podcast called Joshua P. Warren Daily. If
you've never heard of that, just do a search a
Google search for Joshua P. Warren Daily. There's over five
(44:42):
hundred of them, all for free and commercial free. And
I posted one it looks like on July twenty eighth
of twenty nineteen, called Listen to what Happened When I
watched a Giraffe Paint a Picture? And that segment or
that show is about Lauren and myself traveling to this
(45:07):
lion habitat which is here near Las Vegas, and of
course they used to have a lot of big cats here.
Lions and tigers, and when they stopped using those, they
retired them all to this refuge, the Lion Habitat, And
so now you can go there and it's sort of
like a little zoo where you can go and walk
(45:28):
around and see these It's pretty pretty wild experience, you know,
they have like the MGM lion and all that kind
of thing. But for some reason, they also had this
giraffe there named Ozzy, and Ozzy was like no other
draft I've ever seen. A lot of times drafts seem
kind of aloof this giraffe was different. It seemed to
(45:51):
have a presence about it. As weird as that sounds.
Ozzy would just stand right there and look at you
and they he had just this amazing, amazing spirit, and
he was very talented. What his shtick was he would
paint pictures, and so people would gather around. They had
(46:15):
a little comedy routine they would do with him. And
usually what they would do is have him take different
paint brushes and paint one big painting and then they
would cut it up in the little pieces and sell
it off. And I went to afterward. I was so
impressed that I said to the folks who work there,
are like, look, I just keep it all intact. I
just want to buy the whole thing, and they're like,
(46:37):
nobody's ever done that before, said I want to do it.
So sure enough I bought the entire intact picture, and
I'm very proud to say that it hangs on the
wall of our living room next to a big stuff giraffe.
And we just loved I think everybody loved Ozzy because
that well, we even talked about how that if we
(47:01):
had the means, we would try to buy him and
take care of him. He was born in Wichita, Kansas,
and let's see, he was let's see, grew to be
seventeen feet tall. Well, anyway, he just recently turned ten
years old, and there was very sad news that broke
(47:26):
that in the I guess like in the early morning hours,
something disturbed him, something scared him. They don't say exactly
what it is, but he jumped up out of his
sleep and he fell somehow and hurt himself and he died.
So for those of you who followed this story, yes
(47:47):
it's heartrenching. We actually shed a tear when we found
that Ozzie the Giraffe is with us no more. But
now the painting, I suppose is even more precious to
have that whole attact painting by this giraffe. And the
funny thing is it kind of the painting kind of
(48:09):
looks like if you use your imagination, it kind of
looks like to me, the head of a giraffe. We'll
see if we can get that put up on my
Instagram page for you. The Joshua it's a new Instagram page,
so we still only have like maybe a couple hundred followers,
(48:29):
so go check it out though, if you're an instagrammer,

try to grow this thing and post more pictures. In fact,
another weird animal picture that we need to post is
something that was recently featured on the Coast to Coast
am website, and there was an article written by Tim
(48:52):
Banal and it says Bigfoot photographed by game camera and
North Carolina question mark, and he writes, a fantastic game
camera photo from North Carolina shows a remarkably clear view
of what appears to be a mysterious bipedal creature that
some believe could be Bigfoot. The eyebrow raising image reportedly
(49:16):
emerged earlier by let's okay, so somebody just posted this
on Reddit apparently, and it seems a little bit cloudy
where it came from. Some people think it's like a
dog man or whatever, but so apparently, from what I
can tell, this is just a still image from a
game camp at night. So it's black and white, and
(49:39):
let me try to describe what this creature looks like.
It does look very weird at first. Okay, basically, it
does look by pedal. In other words, it's got two legs.
It looks like it's standing on two legs, and it
has this oval shaped body, not much of a head,
(50:01):
as if it might be hunching over it. You can
see what looks like possibly a bit of an arm,
and it's covered with this thin layer of dark hair,
and the skin that you can see underneath looks rather wrinkly.
(50:22):
And I can see why if you caught this thing
on a game cam you would kind of be freaking out.
And so I wasn't sure what to make of this,
but I do know that you can get some very
unusual optical illusions when you take pictures of animals from
certain angles, especially at night, when there are all these
(50:43):
shadows playing with things. So I sent it out there
and got feedback. And you know, I tell you, the
number one animal expert that I always have to go
to is my wife Lauren, because she is just basically
all she does is watch animal videos all the time.
(51:05):
She she's practically a zoologist. I mean, she can name
every kind of little weird species of animal. She looked
at it and she said, this is an odd angle
of the backside of a mangy bear. And to prove it,
she put some other pictures that she posted while she
(51:27):
sent them to me, and I posted them of mangy bears,
and I got to say, it looks a lot like
this is probably a Mainngi bear to me. But I
would like for you to look and make your own
your own decisions. So what we're going to try to
do here again on the Instagram page is we'll put
a still of this thing as well as some of
(51:49):
the pictures that she dug up of a mangie bear,
and you can decide for yourself. I actually have another
funny story to share with you about imagery and optical ILLUSI,
but apparently the clock has goddess, so that'll have to
