Our Australian Correspondent Jim Dolan is back to give us the latest from the wonderful wide world of Aussie sport. On today’s agenda: 

- It's only June but it’s already crunch time in the NRL. 

- Australia's backing who they are calling the 'Demon'.

That's what I like to hear. So what's it in
this afternoon that's so crunchy for Australians.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Well, well, it's not just crunchy for the obvious. It's
the Warriors coming off that sixty point thrashing and the
Broncos coming off the buyer. But before that, conceding eighty
points in three straight games. It is a massive game,
you would say for both sides this afternoon. I think
the Warriors season is pretty much on the line in
this game. All the Broncos well, if they want to

(01:27):
try and repeat making it to the Grand Final again,
they need to start playing well. Now they of course
don't have Walsh, Carrigan or has for the Broncos, I
think terrible news. A DWZ back for the home team.
I think that will be a very good thing for them.

(01:48):
And also in this if you're a little bit worried,
I would be about Selwyn Cobbo. I reckon he's going
to want to have a huge game to show that
he should be back in the marine jersey for Origin three.
So hopefully they can all put last weeks behind Cameron
Serraldo said last night the reason Matt Burton's so good
because he's the memory of the goldfish and can't remember

these bad things. And folks on the positive, well, both
these sciences and stuffen they need to forget about everything
that's happened before it's start again.

Yes, Now his nickname was Singapore because he was like
five hours behind everybody else. It's kind of similar. Is
that a horrible thing? It wasn't my nickname. I didn't
call him that if you remember. I'm pretty sure I'm
right here that last year when the Broncos came over
and played a napier against the Warriors' similar circumstance, some
of the better players weren't there. The Warriors were all

cocker Hoop and they got blown off the park. So
let's hope he's not a back to the future situation, right.

I don't think there'll be cocker Hoop after what happened
last week and what the coach has probably said this week.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
But that's good. That's because Queensland said, oh the Warriors,
that's terrible. A hold of a beer. I just got
to stop focusing on this is not good for me.
An expansion hopeful has been sending blunt messages. Who's the Hopeful?

Speaker 3 (03:05):
What the message the messages? Suck it up, princesses. It's
from the premiere of Western Australia unless Roger Cook. That's
his message for the East Coast teams. He says a
trip to Perth will be a regular part of life
in the NRL because you can't have a n actual
competition without Western Australia involved. Easy putly Rugby League mad

which is not going to have a lot of people
on site in an AFL crazy state. And he's confident
any expansion of the competition must involve and will involve Perth.
Wait till he figures out that the person I will
also have to travel to Auckland, then day Point probably
might be such a fans of that road trip. But yeah,
he's forgotten all about your side of the ditch. He's

just focusing on the East Coast of Australia teams and
as well as a Perth team in the NRL. He's
also pitching up to host Magic Round and wants the
NRL to assist in introducing pathway programs to schools right
across Western Australia, which on short Twiggy Forest and the
Weas Force might be saying where's their support been for

(04:08):
the last ten years or so. Yeah, he's very very
keen for the NRL to make Perth a big part
of their programs.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Oh goodie, another distance derby. There's already one in the
NBL with the Breakers and the Wildcats. I'm sure they're
keen on that. The big difference is, of course, when
you're seven foot four traveling all that way in a
plane is absolutely miserable. At least these guys aren't that large.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Actually, hold on, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Whoop's wrong again? All on board with a demon? I
know what demon you're talking about? Well, I think i'd
him anyways, demoneur, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Alex demon or? Yeah, he's got the speed, the backhand
and the determination in his game. Now he reckons he's
developed the attacking forehand that is putting a complete package
on his game, and he's claiming it's the driving force
for him to not only make it to number seven
in the world. Where he's sitting at the moment, he's
confident of a big Wimbledon at the All England Tennis Club.

(05:04):
He is on the same side of the drawhe however,
as you know that Djokovic, which can tend to put
a dint in confidence and game very far in the tournament.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
So when they love him, they call him the demon.
But when he's playing like a pile of the proverbial,
that's when you can call him de manure, right.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
I would never do that, ds, I'm not bold enough.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Well, yeah, I would the man of course, I'm And
you're here on Sports broadcast and we're not supposed to
be loved by the Australians. That's how it rolls, right exactly.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Your fan clubs are the team in black, aren't you.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
And we're wishing the worst for Daniel Riccardo this weekend
in Austria as well, so our boy can get a run.
