Speaker 1 (00:06):
You're listening to the All Sport Breakfast podcast with Darcy
Waldegrave from News Talk sed B.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
We'll getting to the point at eve now of the
famous Chatham Cup and we're joined now by Angus Cully
out of the Auckland City team. Angus, welcome to the show.
She's been a while, mate, have you been Yeah?

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Good? Yeah? Good mates?

Speaker 4 (00:24):
Same or really still still we're doing well, we still winning,
which is the main objective.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Really well it is you only one went away now
from competing in the final and you're could you say
you're in a rich vein right now because what quarter
final time you managed to get a hat trick? You
popped a few pass didn't you?

Speaker 3 (00:42):
What is the rich may before?

Speaker 4 (00:43):
I'm always good for a few goals and when I
am scoring, it kind of just thinks me trying to
do my job. Me just trying to do my job properly,
rather than when I'm not throwing, I'm not really doing
my job.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
So yeah, that was going all right at the moment
credit where.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Credits to tell us about those three goals where they're
just you tearing down the picture, get set up? Well,
what was the guts?

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Funny enough, they're all, they're all left foot all week foots,
so I think it's first I've ever scored three with
my left foot, and the left foot seems to be
working quite one at the moments that they're not using
the case.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
All right, so Burkenhead and listening, they know.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
How to trick it. So yeah, they put me inside
of my good foot and then were good to go.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Nice coming up tomorrow two o'clock kicks off. It's a
home match for you, which is obviously very helpful playing
at Q with tear Street up against Birkenhead plainly Birkenhead
on and slugs. They've turned up to the semi final
of this Esteemed Cup. So what do they present? What
have you examined? What do you know about what they've got?

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Yeah, they're actually an extremely difficult team to play against.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
The their style of players. They pressed us man for man.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
They're very athletic, very robust team and he said, you
know they they love to get in your face and
make it extremely difficult.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
And they're having a great season as well. I think
they're they're up.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
They're at the top end of the Northern leag they
call it up Nationallygue radio as well, so Yeah, they're definitely.
They're definitely having a great season as ours. It's going
to be an extremely tough game.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Athletic and robust. You call the them aggressive and violent,
don't you?

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Oh, well, the games with them because they do get
quite touched to. There is both teams sort of in
each other's face, and there's lots of tackles going in
and there's probably probably.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
A good game to watch as a new til to expect.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
What do you have to adjust when you take on
a team like this, if any, because I know most
teams go, hey, it's all about us, not about the opposition,
but you must keep an eye on what they're bringing.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Yeah, no, absolutely, it does alter our tactics in a sense.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
We're a team that you li likes to be quite
comfortable to have the board majority of the time, so
then constantly pressing us half it kind of does make
us change a few things and hopefully try to play
the game more on their half and cause them a
few problems.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Whereabout to your strengths besides your laser left foot? Where
do you think Augland said he's got the goods, We've got.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Good players with the pitch.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Really, where we've got strong capable players although over and
we've got some good attackers who if we can get.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Our chances in I'm sure we can convert them to
the goalers.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
So we're very together a team and sort of everyone's
strengths sort of bounced off each other.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Really, how favorable is it playing at home? It's probably
the stupidest question I'll asked, and trust me, I ask
a lot of stupid questions. Is that a massive advantage
to you?

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah? I think yes, it's brilliant for us.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
I think I think the club's celebrating the twentieth anniversary
this weekend, so hopeful a big crowding in the new
kind of format. This is probably up there on the
biggest games we can get at Quy Tear each season.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
So it's homes tom Me Final.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
It's perfect, really, It's where is where we want to
be playing in the big games, and to have all
our home support there is going to be a massive
help to us.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
You say all the home support. I've been to keep
with the history only a couple of times. But the
energy around the ground is a meense. It's a comfortable
place to be as a fan. Nless of course, you're
you're wearing the wrong scarf.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
No, it's an amazing menu.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
It's probably up there with one of one of the
best botique.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Sort of football grounds in the country.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
And you have got nice law supporters that you got
the crow up in the corner singing songs and yeah,
it's a great place to play. The Pitts is always
and Mac with as well, so I'm yeah, we're looking
forward to it.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Glad you said that. I was going to ask about
the quality of underfoot. It sits right up there. It's
a place that you can be confident in your play
and know that the ball is going to do what
you want.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
It to do. Yeah, no, no, absolutely.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
This time of year the pictures can't get a little
bit money, but knack Cut is always very well maintained
and hope it's pretty good service on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
What's been the focus since you won the quarter final?
Have you worked on anything particular that maybe you need
to pick up since the start of the season.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Angus, we've had a few new sidings sort of coming
right before the transmit ended, so we've had a few
boys away on holiday and stuff of that.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
So it's trying to just trying to get around.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
To jail to give a really the few teaching technics
to the new players, and there's work on a few
new things. But now we're I feel we've gone through
our sort of a little bit of slump and we
start this will be on the.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Rise again and sort of compete it to our usual standards.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
So who's fresh in the side. I'm presuming you haven't
got a full quiver because at the end of the
season you kind of don't. Are there many new kids
or are you looking like recently.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
We've signed a couple of new players, just signed a
Eric Takoo's come from Hamilton.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
And they're playing. They're playing this weekend.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
They're right now, they've been they've been playing for the
last few weeks for us. There's a few boys. There's
a few boys who who are away and un available.
We'll keep those quiet. But no, we're as close to
full strength of th Canby for this part of the
season and we're definitely confident that the players belity we've got.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
It should be a massive game and as I said,
have been there, done that. It's a great place to
watch football. So if you're a fan of either side,
get amongst there's essentially a CrossBridge, Derby. So get amongst
at angerskill, colleague, mister Deadley left foot, thanks for your
time and come two o'clock tomorrow get a monst go well.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Thanks for your time, brilliant mate. Thank you so much.
Good to talk again.

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
