Speaker 1 (00:01):
Key one hundred with Dave and Jin check it out.
First of all, let me give a shout out to
the Wheelersburg Pirates football team knocking off the Ironton Fighting Tigers.
Oh over the weekend. The Tigers were on a fifteen
game win streak this season. No no, no, no, not just

(00:23):
this season, no fu.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
It was like, good lord, how many games they.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Had dating back to last season? Okay, they had lost
to the Canada team I want to say around week six,
five or six somethings like that. And then they went
on that run and won the state championship and then
start off this season five and oh so okay five
and oh Wheelersburg versus five and oh Ironton And it
was an amazing game Friday night, amazing atmosphere at Wheelersburg,

(00:46):
and they pulled out to win twenty. It was twenty
four fifteen. It was a great game. And wow, wow wow. Okay,
but here's the thing. So Jackson had a baseball scrimmage
yesterday with his travel team showtime, and I thought it

(01:06):
was going to be at the Barbersville Park and I
told Tracy, I was like, Hey, we're going to be
in Gin's neck. It was so like I should text
her yeah and see if they want to, you know,
either come by or maybe come by afterwards. Away. I
didn't know what you had going on. But then we
had that way and our coach had given us an address,
and so I just kind of just to make sure

(01:28):
we were going to the right place and just click
the address Apple Maps. Well we end up on route too,
and I was like, I don't think this is a park. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
And we go to Marshall's I guess baseball field, old
baseball field, yes, yes, And that's where they had the scrimmage.
Here's the thing. I knew they were going to be

(01:48):
scrimmaging for three hours. The plan was from four thirty
to seven thirty scrimmage. That piece of information I left out.
We're sitting on the bleachers and watching and the games
going on. She's like, what inning is this. I was like, well,
I think it's like the third or whatever. I said,

(02:10):
But you know, we're not done until seven thirty. She
was like seven.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Picked her butt.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Howe you wanted to come right?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
She not. You wouldn't have. You would have told me
the whole story. I didn't know it was three hours exactly.
And you should have texted me then, because I could
have told your girlfriend the Flying Cafes right down the way.
We could have gone there over have a little drink
and drink. I could have kind of picked her up
and taken her up to Barbersville to corbur or to
eighteen sixty one or book Tenders, and then taking her

(02:41):
back over. Oh my goodness, it.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
All turned out great. It was a fun time as.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Great as I could have been.

Speaker 1 (02:48):

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
