Even Brand New Streaming Services KNOW Us 10/08/25

Jenn talks about getting a new streaming service and it immediatley starts recommending shows it thinks she will like. AND... it is spot on.

contract with my internet provider, okay, and of course the
price didn't go back down to where it was, but
of course they added perks, right, that's how it goes

So but so with this, I get two years of
Peacock for free. Shut up, that's cool. Oh yeah, I'm
a streaming service and of course that's how they get yeah. Yeah,
so I'm like, yeah, sure, whatever, I'll take Peacock. So
I signed up for it, and I go looking through
it the other night, you know, just to see what's
on it. And I did find some. I mean, it

had some obscure, weird shows and movies, okay, but they
look funny, they look cute. There's one about an alien
called Paul, and it's from twenty eleven. You don't remember that.
I don't remember that at all. No, okay, no, it's there.
The main two guys are these British actors that were
in like like spoof movies that I know of. And

then Paul's voice is Seth Rogan and then Kristen wig
is in it, Jason Bateman's in it, Bill Hater's in it.
It's just a big dumb movie, is what it looks like.

Okay, but so I still feel like I remember that.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Okay, well, so I didn't remember it, but I thought, oh,
how fun. But then I also so I'm streaming through,
I'm watching through, I'm looking through right, and there's like
a section that says for you, and this is the
first time I've ever opened this app.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Okay, and that's the first time I've ever looked through it.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
That's what I said. Okay, peacock, like you even know me,
you don't know what I want to watch?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
And then yes, I thought to myself, well, because of
Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook, they probably absolutely do know me
better than a nomos say.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Have access to all of your information exactly, so of
course all the four you stuff. If I'm like, that.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Looks really good, that looks really good, that looks really good.

Oh wait, that's right. The Internet knows me better than
I know myself.

Does not suck to know that.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
It's creepy. It's like the Internet has been stalking us
for so long. But there's literally no policing the Internet,
so you just got a stalker with you all the
time in your cell phone, always on you, so it
literally can pinpoint where you are all the time.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
But at least it can recommend cool movies.
