Speaker 1 (00:00):
No More. I Love You's Annie Lennox on the nineties
at nine key one hundred with Dave and gin oh Man.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
I found a Reddit thread, yes, of a pregnant woman
who is excited about her, you know, the birth of
her first child. But she's saying like, you know, I'm
going to be off work for a little while, and
you know, I'm I'm obviously gonna be raising the kid,
but you know what, what hobbies can I get into

(00:30):
while I'm off work? I feel like it won't you know,
my time is just going to be so empty now,
so I really need Yeah. Yeah, And that's pretty much
the reaction that everybody had on the comments. So they
were laughing like, oh honey, you're so funny. Well, because
one of them said, showering is going to feel like
your new special hobby, right, okay, because yeah, you're sleeping
you randomly? Yeah, I mean, honestly, I I the showering

(00:54):
was very half the time I had Leo in the
bathroom because he was sleeping in his little carrier, right,
So I just keep them there and i'd shower real
quick and I try not to wake them up, trying
not to make too much noise. You know what I mean.
So yeah, and then someone else said, like, listen, I
drove to Chick fil A once while I was on
maternity leave. Try that, Like seriously, I remember getting out

(01:16):
one time. I think it was over a month, like
a month and a half, the first time I actually
got out of the house by myself with Leo, Like
besides doctors appointment on that we went to Target together
and or maybe we just ran through drive throughs and
I did banking and stuff like that. But it was
just nice to get out of the house with the baby.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
I remember when Sarah was born, Tracy did not leave
the house for two months. Yeah, outside of like you said,
doctor's appoint right, but the first time she went to
church was like when Sarah was two months.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Old, right, exactly, Like you don't have time, you realize,
I think, oh, it's gonna be easy to take care
of baby and they'll sleep and I'll have plenty of time. No, honey,
not that way. Pick a favorite TV show because you'll
get to do that at least while the kids sleeping,
you know what I mean. But you've got you've got
to be willing to posit every two seconds because you
don't know what's gonna happen? Okay, Oh gosh, girl, I

(02:12):
know blood their heartshome it does not say, but I'm
gonna assume a little.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Young she's going to have a root awakening right.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Right, Well, listen, you do know that when I was
on maternity leave with Leo, the one thing that I
chose to do instead of scrolling on Facebook or Instagram
while I was you know, putting him down or while
I was feeding him, I started organizing my pictures in
my photo albums. Remember, and I had like over twenty
seven thousand photos to organize. And now you can go

(02:40):
and see all these albums. One of them says Dave
and Jen Work. One of them is Eithan Jen, one
of them is Charlie and Angie. One's Jason and Emily.
You know, just a million different albums. So well, I
did that three years ago and I haven't updated it since,
so little light on that. But still I did it
while I was.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Predictive. Right, all right, that is it for a Friday weekends.
Finally here we've made it.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
That is lovely.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
That's great news, guys.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Listen, enjoy it, and we will see you back here
on Mondays.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
