Speaker 1 (00:00):
Key one hundred with Dave and Gin. So Presley had
a really fun weekend. Actually, she went to New York
City New Yoke City, Yes, with Mimium Pops to visit
her aunt Shannon, and uncle Ben and sister yes, and
brother in law. Yes. They've lived there for fifteen wow,
almost more years now big city yeah, gosh, it might
(00:23):
be more than that. And they, I'm telling you right now,
they know New York City. So when you go to
visit them, it's so much fun because you can walk
your butt off and they tell you, they teach you,
they take you to everywhere that's like normal, like you're
not a tourist, you know what I mean. So it's
really cool. But so she had a long weekend and
then when she got home, it was Sunday and we
(00:44):
had our pumpkin carving over at mom and Dad's house. Nice.
So she did participate in that. She didn't carve the pumpkins,
but she did. She did, you know, paint and create one.
She had a lot of fun stuff on it. But
when we got home, I was like, baby, it's time
to study. Like you've got a spelling bee tomorrow, You've
got a spelling test to take tomorrow. You've got this
to do, that to do, blah blah blah. So she
(01:06):
got her homework done, she got everything she needed to
get done, but she needed to work on the spelling
and the spelling Bee specifically. That's exciting, I know. And
so yeah, well, I guess all of the kids can
participate in it. Okay, So if you want to do it,
you just do it. And then I guess whoever wins
can go on to do more spelling bees passings. Guess
what she advanced. She won, let's go out of her class.
(01:30):
She won her spelling Bee. Okay. So here's the deal.
What's funny about that is that when we were studying
for the spelling Bee, I was giving her all the
words on the sheet and I realized that the sheet
has three pages to it. I'm like, oh my word,
they really go whole heartedly into this. Okay, fine, so
(01:51):
we go through the first page. She gets most of them,
if not, no, most of them correct. Okay. Then we
move on to the second page and she struggle in
a little bit more, but she's still getting quite a
bit of them correct. As a matter of fact, a
lot of words that I was like, gosh, that's kind
of tricky. She was getting nice. I was like, this
is great. Fifth We make it halfway through that page
when I finally look up at the top of the
page and it says sixth grade spelling work, hey, and
(02:14):
then the next page says seventh grade. I was like, oh, oh, hey,
hey said you're only even supposed to do like the
fifth grade ones, right, She goes yeah. I was like, oh, well,
you did really good, and I'm really proud of She's like,
we're done. I was like, well, we did the whole
fifth grade page and then went through half the sixth
grade page perfect, but you're doing really good, and then
(02:34):
she wins it. So I'm thinking that just helped it. Absolutely.
She did not feel great about me doing that that nice.
She's not thrilled that I had gone through. Maybe you
shouldn't have told her that far just kind of kept
that on the down load. I mean, she wonders why
I stopped so quickly. Listen, that's so exciting that she
was doing well even in those higher grade exactly. So
(02:55):
now what's next, what's the next companty? Does she move on?
I don't know. We got to figure that part out,
but I did say I was like, do you see
that studying a little extra helped down, didn't It knows
what she's doing. B
