Smartphone Pinky 08/21/25

Dave discovers he may have a case of smartphone pinky.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Key one hundred with Dave and Jin yesterday. I noticed
my little pinky on my left hand was red, kind
of irritated and kind of sore, and I was looking
at it, and I noticed that there's a little indention there.
I think I remember either hearing about this or reading

(00:23):
about this a while back. But I guess I have
a thing called smartphone pinka. I know it is my
phone because of how I hold my phone with my
pinky underneath the bottom resting my phone. I have smartphone pinky.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
And you do that with your left hand. I do.
I'll see I do that with my right hand.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
You hold it with your right. I usually don't. And
you can see there's a difference in my pinkies. My
left is much more has much more of an indenttion
than the right.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
I think does yours too, I think, oh, okay, okay, yeah,
So what dips down?

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Tracy's didn't have that, Tracy's mom didn't have that. How
do they hold her?

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Well?

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Well, Tracy, she does also hold hers with her right phone,
but she just grasps her phone with nothing underneath it.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Oh, how do you do that?

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Back on the sides, how do you do that?

Speaker 2 (01:19):
You gotta have something.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Yeah, right, like what if it slids down through the
bottom and bam, right in your face.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
I guess she just holds it and uses her other
hand to do stuff with it, right, But no, you
gotta have.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
What if you gotta have some support underneath?

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Yeah, you gotta be.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
And then Tracy's mom has that little one of those
sock things.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Oh yeah, that pop up on your phone, and so
she holds it with that.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
She holds it with that. That's probably a better idea
that'll keep you from having smartphone, pinky. I guess, well.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
That is interesting. Smartphone pinky, I'm going to deformity now
thanks to my phone. Well and see and see would
one hundred years ago, if you ask anybody about that,
they'd be like, I'm sorry, excuse me, what what is that?
What are you talking about? So see we have new
issue you new issues first world problem deformities. Yeah, it's
