When You Don't Use Punctuation in Texting... 10/17/25

Dave talks about a text in their family chat causing some confusion due to no punctuation.

explain the importance of punctuation and text messaging.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Oh buddy, do it?

Speaker 4 (00:19):
Okay, I am you know, I'm you know the grammar
queen over here, so I'm with you.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Let's hear it.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
So Tracy's middle name is Marie, Tracy, Marie, Okay, okay.
Sarah has a habit of calling us all by our
middle names.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Oh wow, she's ready for mom mode already all right, okay.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
And Tyler since he was a little boy, I've called
him Tea, so pretty much.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
We all call him Tea. All right.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Well, Sarah texts our group chat and she says, t
Marie said to tell you everyone said hi, and then
she goes on she said, this is miss England's sister.
I cleaned Parker, which is her son, I believe, and
told her you were my brother. Lol.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
I said, all I knew what was being said, right.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Saying hey, t Tyler. Marie says hello.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Right, but there's no punctuation whatsoever in that sentence. Tracy responds, Lol,
I didn't even know she knew me.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Well, she doesn't. She's not talking to you.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Right, So I send the laughing faces emoji and I said,
that's why you use comma's cys. Yeah, she says, what
I was talking to Tyler? Well, yes, but mom thought
you were talking to her because you said T and
Marie together.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
No, Comma exactly exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
You have to use punctuation.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
By the way, I kind of like the new nickname
for Tracy T Marie whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Hey T Marie. Yeah, I kind of like that.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
I mean that totally sounds like something Sarah would call her.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
So I get it.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
It's gonna get.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Way more confusing now because y'all call Tyler T T.
But still, what's Tyler's middle name? It's not Marie, is it?

Speaker 2 (02:09):
No?

Speaker 4 (02:10):
David?

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Oh, there you go, David and Marie?

Speaker 1 (02:12):
What have I don't know T Dave.
