When You Turn Into Your Parents without Realizing 08/20/25

Dave talks about how Tracy does exactly what her mom just did to her the day before.

Key one hundred with Dave and Jin. So my mother
in law Kathy invited us over for dinner yesterday evening
night after Jackson's football practice. We go over and she
had made chicken caesadillas. Oh and she had made this
for Jackson, well, Jackson, Sarah and I last week when

(00:24):
Tracy was out of town or two weeks ago, and
so now she wanted Tracy to try it as well.
And she said, I made it even better this time
because I put some onions and green peppers in with
the chicken and yeah, oh yeah, and it was here's
the thing. After dinner, we were sitting in the living room.
Tracy had left her coke zero on the table and

she goes to get her coke zero and it's no
longer there. She said, Mom, what you do with my
coke zero? She said, oh, well, I I threw that out.
She said, Mom, I was going to drink that and
she said, well, you know, it was getting warm. There
was just a little bit left. It was left on
the table, so yeah, throw it away. She's like, get
another one. It's fine. And we got a little kick

out of that. Eric, Tracy's brother, says, she does that
stuff all the time, all the time. For instance, I
will I will be down in the basement and then
I'll come up for something. Well, she'll go down to
the basement turn off the light, even though I'm heading
right back down there. And I just chuckled because I said,

(01:33):
this all sounds way too familiar. Stopping at my house,
I said, this is what you do at our house. Hey, you,
I'll have a big cup of water, you know that
I'm drinking on or whatever, and then suddenly it'll be gone.
I'm like, where's my water? I thought you were done
with that. I was not. Here's the thing doesn't feel

too good when it happens to you, I said, the
old apple doesn't fall far from the tree it sings.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
It doesn't. But you also sleep beside her, and she
might just put a pillow on your price trup.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Oh my god, is accurate. Yes, trust me, you do.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
You don't realize how much you are like your package,
your pair of your mother. You do the.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Things that your parents do or did that drove you crazy?

Speaker 2 (02:23):

Speaker 1 (02:24):
And you don't even realize.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I know you have no clue. Trust me, he says.
Half the time. Oh look at that, I thought I
was talking to a little Paul.

Speaker 1 (02:36):

Two today, so we need a female challenger to take
him on in the battle. And school's back in so
