Is it as creepy as I think it might be?

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Well, it is about a stalker's Yeah, but sting gets
annoyed because some people play it as a love song. Yes, right,
but he says it's really not. He wrote it after
separating from his first wife, and he said it's a
nasty little song is evil. It's about jealousy and surveillance

Speaker 6 (01:46):
I saw him on the side of that seaplane going
through the like the little narrow passes.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Yes, it's crazy, and he's really there.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
He's really there. They changed him and then.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
He did all kinds of strange like you know us
a selfie stick uses selfie stick to film himself unreal
up in the air.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
So we'll get into that.

Speaker 6 (02:06):
Is it was this the last mission. I don't I'm
not up in the universe. The I Universe?

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Is this it?

Speaker 6 (02:10):

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Box Office one hundred and eighty three million dollar debut globally,
three hundred and forty million dollars coming in second Mission Impossible,
the Final Reckoning. That is a series best open for
Mission Impossible seventy seven and a half million, almost two
hundred million worldwide. You know, it's not the first time
Tom Cruise has gone up against to Lee Loan Stitch.

(03:21):
Back in two thousand and two, they opened with the
original Lee Loan Stitch and Minority Report. So yeah, there
it is same result. But Tom cruise is amazing. And
I haven't seen Leelan Stitch yet, darno. You and Mike
have and you loved it.

And she hosted last night in the American Music Awards
with the brief performance of Dance Again, then did a
lengthy dance number to a mashup of twenty three of
the nominated songs.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
It was really cool.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
She's so amazing with her dancing and she's in tiptop shape.
Benson Boone also performed, Janet Jackson performed, and Rod Stewart
closed the show. He was surprised by five of his
eight kids. He didn't know they were going to be there.
It was so sweet. He accepted the lifetime achievement a word.

Speaker 10 (04:43):
When I started singing in the early sixties, well before
all of you lot were here. The reason I got
into it was I had this burning ambition to sing.
That's all I wanted to do. I didn't want to
be rich or famous, And here here I am a
few years later, picking up this wonderful ward. Thank you

(05:04):
so much.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Amazing. He almost cried when he saw his kids on stage.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
It was really sweet, touching, and then he performed this,
ending the show with a bang.

Speaker 11 (06:43):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Good. This applies to both men and women.

Speaker 6 (06:46):
Comes from the British Journal of Psychology, a study of
thousands of people around the world, and this time it's
not about like well color you wear, you know, how
you position your body, the scent or whatever. This is
something you do, you can do, and both men and
women find this to be the most attractive trade. It
is helping others, giving it away, give it away, whatever

(07:06):
you have, just do something kind for someone else. It's
called being altruistic. And they say that that's helping others
without the thought of reward.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
That's what that word meant.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
So very cool.

Speaker 6 (07:15):
It's particularly attractive to women. If a woman sees a
guy do something, I feel like, oh, yes, you know,
but men like it too, so do something. But then again,
isn't okay now having this information, isn't helping others without
the thought of reward actually a reward because now you're
trying to be attractive. Yes, yes, all right, so I'm
gonna throw that away if you get the point.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Yes, I love it.

Valerie read this one from Antonio.

Speaker 15 (11:33):
Ellen Morning, So, my wife and I were and invited
to our god daughter's wedding, but last night she sent
us a venmo QR to contribute to the costs. I'm
honestly just speaseless, but also the audacity.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
Okay, oh that was Okay, wait, so you can I
hit her? Get HiT's venmo QR code.

Speaker 6 (11:53):
They weren't invited to Okay, we'll play again. They weren't
invited to the wedding.

Speaker 15 (11:56):
But Ellen, Morning, So, my wife and I were in
to our god daughter's wedding, but last night she sent
us a vemo QR to contribute to the costs. I'm
honestly just speachless, but also the audacity.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Yeah, the audacity, Antonio. I'm so sorry your own god
daughter not inviting it to her wedding, but sending a
QR code.

Speaker 6 (12:21):
The only reason or thing that would make this even
remotely Okay, is if it's like a destination and it's tight,
you know, it's like eight people.

Speaker 16 (12:29):
Isn't that the same as like back in the day
we used to put in like I had a cousin
and in his birthday invites they would write Paul likes cash.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
Mmm, oh yeah yeah.

Speaker 8 (12:40):
So isn't that kind of the same thing a little bit?

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Yeah, it's pretty shameless. I have this is crazy.

It is.

Speaker 6 (12:46):

begging for money because his toy collection was stolen and
he wants us to help pay for to replace his
Marge Simpson statue.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
I'm like, no, I mean, I'll help people, but it's
not my fault.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Your toys were, right, Okay, yeah, the audacity, audacity.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
No, I prefer this though. I'd rather give the cash
up and not have to go to the wedding.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
I mean, you know, but to ask for it, like,
that's fine, let's go. How about an invitation that says,
to our dear friends, we have decided to keep our
wedding small and private in you know, Malaysia or somewhere
far away. So we're so sorry that we won't be
sharing our love.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
That day with you.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
But if you would like to help.

Speaker 16 (13:37):
Oh no, if you would like to watch our live stream,
it's okay, fifty bucks give us something for the getting.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
I just feel like it's just asking for I don't know,
like maybe said out an announcement, but don't just ask
for the cash.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
What's your pitch?

Speaker 8 (13:55):

Speaker 3 (19:45):
It's not as cute as one might think.

Speaker 11 (19:47):
Right Milsting says, it's a nasty.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Little song, rather evil.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
It's about jealousy and surveillance and ownership. And he wrote
it after his divorce from his first wife, Francis.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
So anyway, that is what you're listening for before nine.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Every breath you take when you hear it, be collar
twenty to get one thousand dollars. Ellen K one K
Payday it is here. Also, today is the first day
of the Script's National Spelling Bee. We always have amazing
kids from the Southland who compete in this and as
we go through it, of course we'll be focusing on
our champions.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
I still can't get over last year.

Speaker 6 (20:24):
I mean, I think all of us were shocked when
we came in and found out that they used ellen
k as a word.

Speaker 8 (20:29):
During the Really e L L e n k.

Speaker 6 (20:36):
It's correct.

Speaker 16 (20:38):
Derived from Los Angeles, California.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
All right, here we go. It's a talkback Tuesday. We're
collecting all your talkbacks all throughout the morning. So tap
that mic, you come right into our studio, leave us
a talk back, and then we're going to draw in
at nine forty five for a four pack.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
To Hurricane Harbor, Los Angeles. All right, just for talking back.
All right, but here we go.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
We got this talk back this morning and it has
been getting a lot of response.

Speaker 15 (21:07):
Ellen morning. So my wife and I weren't invited to
our goddaughter's wedding, but last night she sent us a
vemo QR to contribute to the costs. I'm honestly just speachless.
But also the audacity, I mean.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
The audacity has that ever happened to you?

Speaker 14 (21:25):
Have?

Speaker 11 (21:25):
Never?

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Is this a thing?

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Is this a thing we're sending QR codes and just
saying hey, yes it is.

Speaker 6 (21:31):
It's becoming a thing. I just think that the shamelessness
is becoming rampant.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
No, I don't mind it.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
I'd rather give up the cash and and just skip
the wedding altogether and feel good about it.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
I mean, that's such a man thing to say.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
But there these are the god parents, so that brings
a little extra meaning and a little more audacity.

Speaker 16 (21:51):
Here's something I don't even like doing asking for money
in general, but like right now, I have a son
who's in every sport you can think of, and they're
fundraising minimums, and I just feel like I'm always asking
people like.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
Can you please buy popcorn? Can you please?

Speaker 16 (22:06):
Like I feel like paying them for paying us out,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
It's like it's always something.

Speaker 6 (22:13):
No one wants to feel like you're burdening somebody by
asking that exactly if you.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
Feel that way.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Yeah, yeah, But see now, the joy in that is
we can go watch little bear win, yeah, and play
and all that.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
But this is they get nothing.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Well I guess they get the satisfaction of knowing that
they've helped their their god daughter.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
With a little added sting of not being invited.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Yeah out, okay, Well a lot of calls about this,
So Laura welcome, you're on.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
What do you think?

Speaker 9 (22:42):
I honestly think it's wrong because if you're going to
have a wedding, you should be able to afford it
once and two, if you're not gonna invite somebody, why
would you send them to request the money. It just
takes one feel bad because you weren't invited, okay, and
then to go ahead. For example, I grew up and
we have like for example, contins and weddings. There's a difference.

(23:05):
We have we go and ask people say, hey, you
want to help us out with the drinks? Do you
want to help us out? But that's different when you
go ahead and you don't even invite you and then
asking you to to put chip in for your wedding,
that's not okay. Now, if I decided to say, hey,
it's okay, I wasn't invited, here's one hundred dollars towards
your wedding, that's different.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
But if you decide they're asking that's why you said.
The audacity is it's pretty bold.

Speaker 9 (23:32):
It is I think I think like that that's embarrassing.
But but I love you guys, have a good one.

Speaker 11 (23:38):
All right, you too, Laura.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Yeah, it is embarrassing. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
I wouldn't. I don't know how to feel. I would
just feel so I think violated. Like wait, I was
planning on getting you a gift, like maybe you have
a registry too, or if you don't.

Speaker 16 (23:53):
Now you're getting fifty dollars less for annoying me.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Yeah, keep your calls coming, Is this the thing?

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Send me a QR code asking, just asking with no
invite and how do you feel about it?
