I spent the day yesterday with this guy. His name
is Carl, and he wrote a book, Carl Barney. It's
coming out soon, but it's called The Happiness Experiment. And
he happened to come into a lot of money. He
had a big college system and he made lots of
money off that. So he didn't want to wait to

(01:05):
die to give it away. Oh, bequeath it. He wanted
to pre queath it love, and so he didn't. He
did it, and then he realized how much happiness came
to people that he could see it. And yeah, so
the Happiness Experiment. So he's going to be on our
show this morning. He's going to give us one good

(01:25):
thing as well. But yeah, I thought that was just
so cool. You know, you've got these people you love
in your life. If there's something that you want to
give them, it doesn't have to be money. It could
be like a special ring or whatever that you would
just give it to them while you're living, not when
you're not here. Anyway, one good thing, Thanks for all
your calls. Eight hundred and ninet two nine KOs He,

(01:46):
Let's go to Deborah Harbor City. What's your one good thing?

weekend with music by Elton John and Brandy Carlyle. He
is also going to win the box office with the
Minecraft movie starring Jason Momoa. Jack Black predicted to debut

(04:20):

show when her contract ends, but this demonstrates why she
needs to never leave. It's such a gem. Kelly invited
Jack Black to surprise a cast member of Love on
the Spectrum. I know he's your favorite, Tanner Smith.

Speaker 10 (04:40):

your happiness hack. Ryannano gives it to you at this
time of the day every weekday.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
Okay.

Speaker 10 (07:11):
So there is this thing going viral right now on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram.
People are swearing by this that you can charge your
phone using two bananas and a coin. And it doesn't
even have to be a phone like we have an
iPad here or air pods, but just you can charge
a device using two bananas. Okay, Okay, so this is
gonna I've got, Like you said, my hands are full.
So what you do is you take a coin and

(07:33):
I have a quarter in this case, you poke it
through one banana skin and then the other, so you're
connecting the two bananas with the coin, making a little
hold on.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
This isn't going through this.

Speaker 10 (07:45):
We've never done this before, by the way, live on
the air. We've never tested a hack that we haven't
already tested. Okay, so you can see, Oh.

Speaker 5 (07:51):
They're joined, they're a coin.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
So two bananas back to back, joined by a coin.
Ryan in this case used a quarter.

Speaker 10 (07:58):
You take your charger, okay, and you just puncture the bana.
Come on, no, and then I'm gonna I'm gonna plug it.

Speaker 6 (08:07):
In after it.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
Okay, here we go, guys.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
I'm sorry, We're just we don't know.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
We don't know if we're doing this together. Everybody, I
only have one.

Speaker 10 (08:15):
So you've seen this online. This is the moment of truth.
The chargers in the banana, the joined bananas.

Speaker 5 (08:23):
Oh my gosh, here you go.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Hold on, okay, does it work.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
It looks like it's charging.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
It's not.

Speaker 12 (08:31):

viral everywhere.

just with good news or good things every day, it
lowers your stress level like in half, it cuts it
in half. So keep them coming because we love spreading

Speaker 5 (12:21):
Yeah, And all of our Q and a's are scientifically
proven and then we post them up. But it's eight
hundred ninety two nine kost. So we want to get
your guesses. What you think that is Jonah's brothers at

Speaker 5 (13:49):
Okay, alrighty, have a snack before you make a big decision.
It'll help you make a smart choice. It's a great guess.
A lot of people are saying a snack chocolate. It's
not the right answer.

at work in Castaic. What is your guess?

Speaker 14 (15:47):
My guess is clench your face.

Speaker 5 (15:49):
Clench your fist. I never would have thought of that.
What made you think that? Have you done that before?

Speaker 14 (15:55):
Maybe once or twice?

Speaker 5 (15:57):
Well, doing this simple thing before making decision, it helps
you make a smarter choice. Scientifically proven, it is clenching
your fists.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
You are right.

Speaker 5 (16:09):
I don't know how Oxford researchers even thought of that,
but they did prove it. And you're going to the
Jonahs Brothers at Dodger Stadium. Way to go.

Speaker 8 (16:20):
I love the Jonas Brothers.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 5 (16:23):
Yeah, clenching your fists. If you do that before you
have to make a big decision, it helps you make
a smarter choice. It's just fascinating, is it?

Speaker 4 (16:33):
The release? Maybe like the tension and then the release
and you're just in a better space.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
I think, yeah, I must clear something. She loves the
Jonahs Brothers and so do we We go to Miss

it's pretty exciting.

Speaker 5 (17:23):

do you teach?

Speaker 13 (17:29):

it's pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
You enjoy coming to work each day.

Speaker 5 (17:42):

won a huge award. I'll tell you what's going on
with USC and UCLA women's basketball some good news coming

(18:20):
up next and it is cost to one of three
point five top stories Top of the hour. Good morning,
I'm ellen K and the NCAA Final four resumes tonight
fittingly on four to four All I, it's cost one
of three point five. We are the LNK Morning Show.
Thank you for being here right by our side on

(18:42):
this beautiful Friday, I feel good Friday, and we just
want to share this with you. Earlier this morning, we
tried an experiment. It's gone viral on every social media
platform TikTok, Instagram, even on x and Facebook, and it
is charging your phone from bananas. So we did it
for you, so you don't have you join two bananas
back to back with a coin between them and then

(19:04):
you just dig through the peel with your charger with
your plug and plug it into your device. And it
didn't work.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
It does not work.

Speaker 10 (19:12):
So we knew it was either going to be a
must or a bust, and it was it was the latter.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Yeah, it was a bust. So you don't need to
do that. You'll see it everywhere, but we've done it
for you. Yeah, what posts that up for you too
on our socials. It was a good idea though, right,
we all brought bananas this morning. I'm like last night,
we're texting each other. I said I have three, I
got four. We're ready, okay, but we want to know
one good thing, one good thing happening in your life.

(19:40):
You know, you when you think of bad things or
see bad things on TV or the news, it just
brings everything down. So good news does just the opposite.
It brings everything up all right, lowers your stress, but
raises your happiness. And there's a man who stopped by.
His name is Carl, and Carl he has written a

(20:01):
book called The Happiness Experience. All right, so here he is.
I said to him, I said, what's what's one good thing?

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Like?

Speaker 5 (20:08):
You're an expert on happiness. His book's going to come
out later, thinking about a month, so we got him
on the early But Carl, what is it? What's what's
one good thing?

Speaker 12 (20:23):
What's really really important in life is dreaming and don't
stop dreaming. I was encouraged one time in my life
to create a dreams list, and I said, what's a
dreams list? How do you do that? And he said,
we just imagine you have all the time, all the money,
all the people, all everything you possibly need. What would
you do? What would you dream about? And he said,
write a list of a dozen of dreams that you did.

(20:46):
And I said, that's interesting. And I did just dreams crazy,
let my mind go for it. But after a while
I start to realize those dreams. I had a dreamed
of skydive into to whitewater raft and to do all
kinds of word wonderful things. And after a while, each
of these dreams has happened, and so I created more dreams.
And right now I'm living a dream life for the

(21:07):
American dream if you like. But it's it's dreaming. Don't
stop dreaming.

Speaker 5 (21:10):
Do lots of dreaming, Oh lots of dreaming, no matter what,
like it could be a crazy dream, could be anything. Carl, then,
you know, left in. One of our co workers here
said that he's always dreamed of of opening and he
was serious. He's always dreamed of opening a turtle farm. Okay,
and we all laughed at first. But then this person,

(21:33):
I want to say his name, you know, live on
the air. We said, he truly really is fascinated with
turtles and has always wanted it brings some joy. And
Carl stopped and just said, Look, chase that dream. You
know what I mean, It doesn't matter what it is.
If you just think about it, you write it down.
It makes you happy to even think about your dreams.

Speaker 10 (21:52):
Plus, if you've ever seen a turtle eat a strawberry,
that just brings you great joy.

Speaker 5 (21:56):
Oh I've never seen it.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
It's just tremendous. So I get it.

Speaker 12 (21:59):
I get that.

Easter coming up, you just take the de that you
probably have for your eggs and you just put it
on the potato with a paintbrush and then you paint it,
or you could use real paint col ties of potatoes.

co She rescues roosters, and she's happy because it's Friday,
it's sunny, and she's got lots of babies. And then

(25:08):
Rick Dy's heard that, so he sent over a rooster
of his own. I don't know if you'll remember this,
but the Recita rooster used to come on the show
quite a bit. If you listen to Ricty's in the morning.
He's now in the iHeartRadio, by the way, all the
classic countdowns.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
It's so good.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
Yeah, so the Reseda rooster. I haven't heard this one
as a blast from the past. I haven't heard for
a long time. Roosters and rosina. They just sound different.
You know a little fun fact about the Rescita rooster

(25:43):
that was actually voiced in our studio by Mel Blank.
Really yeah, what's up, Doc Bugs Bunny? So yeah, Mel
Blank did that the Recita rooster Feel good Friday. Her
name is Carrie Santa Clarita. She hit that talkback button.

something from the seven to twenty question of the day,
and i know I've got you guys, So thank you
for being you.

Speaker 7 (26:36):

Speaker 5 (26:54):
We're The ellen K Morning Show. It's posted to one
of three point five. It is a watch watching so
much good stuff okay, heartwarming on Netflix. The Lifeless Sophia
Carson Amazing. It is so so good okay. So it's

(27:18):
about a girl who kind of loses her way. She's
twenty six and her mother is dying of cancer. The
mother passes away and makes her a stack of DVDs
and pulls out a list she made when she was thirteen,
and she called it her life list of things she
wanted to accomplish. Every time she does, she gets a
DVD from mama. Connie Breton is the Mom. Sophia Carson,

(27:40):
The Lifeless. It's on Netflix.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
Nice.

Speaker 10 (27:43):
We mentioned this earlier and we'll stay on Netflix for this.
I'm going season three of Love on the Spectrum new
hopeful daters, adults you know who have autism trying to
find love, and plus fan fades from seasons one and two.
You got Abby coming back, Danny Bowman, who, by the way,
shout out Danny lives in Lacunyata Ridge and listens to
co So, Danny, we love you, and our buddy Tanner

(28:04):
will be back.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
So Love on the Spectrum is my wreck for the weekend.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
Love that all right?

Speaker 11 (28:08):
Well, my son is fifteen and he grew up playing
Minecraft and he's been looking forward to the Minecraft movie.

Speaker 6 (28:14):
So we're hitting the theaters this.

Speaker 11 (28:15):
Weekend, which we don't do a lot, and I'm excited
because it's an experience for us. But there's been really
fun things happening around this movie. Like yesterday we went
to McDonald's and got the Minecraft Meal and imagine an
adult sized version of a Happy Meal, and it has
a big mac, large fry, large drink.

Speaker 6 (28:34):
And a big toy.

Speaker 11 (28:35):
And my fifteen year old try to act like he
wasn't excited. Sure, And so that's Jack Black, Jason Momoa,
Jennifer Coolidge is in it. There's a lot of people,
and so I'm excited to see him be so excited.

Speaker 6 (28:49):
Tonight we're gonna go watch it.

Speaker 5 (28:50):
What toy did he get?

Speaker 6 (28:52):
It was one of the figures?

Speaker 5 (28:53):
Oh, okay, it was it the sheep.

Speaker 11 (28:54):
It was no, okay, I don't know the names, but
it was a girl looking one and it's all block.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
Oh.

Speaker 11 (29:00):
That's so totally recommend trying the Minecraft meal. It was
fun for him to get that.

Speaker 5 (29:06):
I love that. Also, The Friend is opening with Naomi
Watts and Bill Murray. And this giant Great Dane and
it's supposed to be heart warring. Bill Murray wants everyone
to know the dog doesn't die, so it's not a
sad dog movie. It's actually a good movie. But minecraft
I think it's gonna win with seventy million dollars, that's
what they're saying. Okay, And of course on Max the

(29:29):
White Lotus ninety minute season finale, right, promise me and Darlene,
your sisters in life, okay, the sisters that you never had,
that you will watch the season finale. Just sit for
the recap, watch the finale. You'll be hooked.

Speaker 4 (29:46):
Where do I get the recap? Will it be at
the beginnings?

Speaker 5 (29:49):
No, I know, But will it be at.

Speaker 6 (29:50):
The beginning of the y at the very beginning?

Speaker 5 (29:52):
Yeah, that's where recap I.

Speaker 10 (29:53):
Can Well, I don't know, So I can just come
in because there I'm sure there are others who haven't.

Speaker 4 (29:58):
Episode eight okay, come in, It's fine. We can just
go in.

Speaker 5 (30:01):
Yes, good, episode eight okay, and just push play.

Speaker 10 (30:04):
Okay, I get how it works.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
Look at me, Alan, look at me. I promise you.
I will watch. I promise you.

Speaker 5 (30:14):
Thank you for spending your morning with us. Happy Friday,
Feel Good Friday, and Baseball's very own Carrie Steele is
coming up next Big Day Angels Opening Day. Carrie Steele
one of the biggest Angel fans we know, and she
is next on the radio. So everybody have a good weekend. Ryan,
What are you doing this weekend?

Speaker 4 (30:33):
Ellen? I have no plans this whole weekend. I really don't.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 10 (30:38):
Oh, you want me to watch the White Lotus on Sunday.
I'm sorry, I've already forgotten. I promised you I would.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
And I will.

Speaker 5 (30:43):
Okay, okay, Darlee, No games is this weekend.

Speaker 11 (30:47):
I can't remember the last time this happened. Out of
four sports teams that my son is in, there's no
nothing happening besides like a party on Sunday.

Speaker 5 (30:57):
This is Alexander Rodrigo, the Third used to be known
as a little Bear. He walks in here this week
and he turned around. He was just kind of like
helping us. He looks like Luke Robotie, like his back,
he's so muscular. I was like wow, and then dar
tells me it's four sports at the same.

Speaker 11 (31:17):
Time, rugby, high school, football, track, and seven on seven
which is football too.

Speaker 5 (31:24):
Whoa that's amazing. Well, enjoy your game free weekend.

Speaker 6 (31:28):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (31:29):
And what are you doing. We're just gonna chill. Also,
we'll be watching The White Lotus and I think we're
gonna go see Minecraft. Oh good, yeah, yeah yeah and
the Friend with the Dog in It. Oh yeah, mammy,
I want to see both of those. So we'll probably
hit up the theaters a little Hiken stuff like that, and
we end every show with a quote and a kiss.

(31:51):
This one from Robert Downey Junior said, I think that
we all do heroic things, but hero is not a noun.
It's a verb. It Kiss on three, kiss on me
when it's

Speaker 1 (32:02):
Four.
