Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, good morning, Happy Friday Eve, one more day until Halloween.
We've been discussing our costumes that we are going to
be putting on our bodies. I'm Ellen k I'm Ryan, Maana,
I'm Social Queen Darlene and Eparties are my cromos, and
I think we might just go simple, guys. I mean,
let's not say what it is, but it has to
do with coast.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Yeah, yeah, it does.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
The top dog costumes are out, and so I don't
know if you dress up your dog Ryan, No, no, no,
she would never. Do you dress up your.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Dogs if it goes with our theme?
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Okay? Yeah, yeah, I dress up my Puggle, but not
my Austy. But the top ones are Crypto, which is
you know, pretty expected. Yeah, Crypto, the Dog, Chicken, Dirpy,
the Tiger from K pop Demon Hunters, Yes, okay. Le
Boobu is the number one. So it is also on
(00:51):
the list, An Ambulance, the Lorax, Elvis, and Superman.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Have you ever seen a dog look happy in a costume?
Speaker 4 (00:58):
No?
Speaker 1 (00:58):

more day to go, and it's also a Thursday takeover today,
so we're gonna send you to a holiday show Trans
Siberian Orchestra. It's holiday with TSO. A lot of people
asking us when are we flipping? Yeah, we're getting calls
left and right.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
This is a highly closely guarded secret, Like my parents
are asking and I won't even tell them.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Oh, come on, you can tell your parents. Why not it?
I told my son, Nope, can't.
Speaker 5 (01:33):

Show follow us at Coast one o three five dot com.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Let's talk about it, just because I feel like it's
going away finally. But the six seven trend, it's taken over. Yeah, exactly,
that's what everybody says. It took over. TikTok. It took over, Mike,
your life with your daughters a long time ago. I mean,
how many months has six seven been around?
Speaker 6 (01:54):
Maybe five six months already?
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Yeah, you should have said six seven months.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Let me ask him again, Mike, how long has this
trend been around? About six seven months?
Speaker 3 (02:07):
I saw this really funny post online and this math
teacher tricked all of her kids and made every answer
six to seven, And so they're all looking at each
other like confused, like, wait, what's another six seven?
Speaker 2 (02:19):
That's awesome? I love you guys. At this point, I'm
too afraid to ask. I don't even know what six
seven means. I don't get it.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
There are a lot of origin stories. I think Mike
knows the true origin.
Speaker 6 (02:29):
Well, look, it doesn't really mean anything. It's like the
new way to say, what's up, what's happening, what's going on?
It comes from a song, a hip hop song, but
it's really like you got to do the hand gestures
and it's kind of like weighing up, weighing your options.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Six seven, palms up, yeah, seven.
Speaker 6 (02:47):
Seven, like a rating, you know.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Okay, how was that burger? About a six? Or seven?
Speaker 5 (02:51):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Six seven?
Speaker 4 (02:52):
All right?
Speaker 1 (02:53):
If I just walk in here and I just say,
how's your morning going? Six seven? And would that be average?
Pretty mid?
Speaker 7 (03:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Okay, all right, all right, now there's a song about it.
Speaker 8 (03:05):
Six seven. I'm giving up by you, oh forty one.
If you want me to an anywhere, I would have
(03:28):

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Okay, let's do this. You know, it's just kind of
rough to bounce back from from back Dodd your lost
last night. Yeah, but it also is a pressure cooker,
and I think that our Dodgers do great under those conditions. Darlene,
you were there. I know that it was a rough
start with those two home runs right out the gate
off Snell.
Speaker 9 (04:12):
It was just so fun to be there to see everyone.
I took pictures of the crowd next to me just
because I could see how focused they were. And when
we lost, I was like, come on, you guys, you
have to do it for all of these people, like
we are loyal even through the bad time.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
That's right. And so many celebrities there, Leo DiCaprio, Ellen Pompeo,
Charlie's their own Magic thrown out the first pitch, Magic
Johnson there, so Vanessa Bryant, she had the kids. That
was really cute, Mario Lopez and Joe Koy.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
This is what I love about baseball. Anything can happen.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yeah, anything can happen.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Right, So you go, you go to Toronto and it's
a whole new it's a whole new setup. Circumstances, and
if the Dodgers went okay, then then the next game,
whoever wins wins. I mean that's it.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Yeah, let's do it.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Don't don't freak out.
Speaker 1 (04:57):

Speaker 1 (05:56):
All right, so it's Jeff Bezos super Yacht. That's where
it's all happening, and that's where Justin Trudeau and Katy
Perry really got to know each other because they're offshore.
As a matter of fact, I've heard that a lot
of celebrities, if they don't want their relationship or ships
to be in the paparazzi, you know, in any of
the tabloids, that they will go out on a yacht.
(06:19):
So matchmaker Lauren Sanchez won a complete privacy for Katy
Perry and Justin Trudeau while in the honey moon phase
of their romans. So Lauren and Jeff have given the
couple full use of their five hundred million dollars super
yacht anytime they want it. Katie and Justin can vacation
together without the pesky paparazzi spying. Jeff and Lauren love
love and they said if they can help this romance
(06:39):
flourish away from prying eyes, that they definitely will.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Well, I mean this goes back to the story you
shared yesterday when Lauren first said, Hey, I've got someone
for you to meet, and she did it at the
edge of space, right, So she's really getting involved in Yeah,
from space to see.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
And what about this White Loatus. Season four is going
to be filmed in Paris and the French Rivia it's
going to be in France. Apparently, Season four will mostly
take place on the Mediterranean coast, with a subplot in Paris.
One of the luxury hotels being scouted is a five
star resort that was once home to artists and entertainers
like Charlie Chaplin, Picasso, Ernest Hemingway. And so it's going
(07:16):
to be a lot of romance, a lot of history,
a lot of fun, of course, a lot of suspense.
We say, je suie, impatientt me. That means I can't wait.
All okay, what about this? There is a Tailor Swift
fan club at an Omaha retirement home. A ninety five
year old started this Taylor Swift fan club. He started small,
(07:38):
like ten and twenty, then fifty and now it's one
hundred people. Yeah. His name is Frank, and he started
this because he just loves Taylor. He hopes that he
can attract Taylor's attention. He has a message for her.
Speaker 11 (07:51):
Please come and see us. We need you very much,
and with his permosion, give her a hug.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
He's a Chiefs fan too, but he said, you'd rather
just have tailors Travis us to stay home and play football.
So cute, Hi, This is Taylor Swift.
Speaker 7 (08:16):
This is post below.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
This is Miley Cyrus and you're listening to the llen
K Morning Show on Coast one oh three point five.
Speaker 1 (08:22):

Speaker 1 (08:41):

having us on while you are commuting. You get that

Woodland Hills.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
You ever hear of dark showering?
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Never?
Speaker 1 (09:16):
But I like it.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Okay, it's a new thing.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Actually, while we do this, Mike, would you mind dimming
the lights in here?
Speaker 8 (09:22):
I just want to.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Oh yeah, lights are off.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Okay, So the idea is simple. You just turn out
the lights before your next shower. It's got some real benefits.
It's hard to read in here right now with the
lights out, so it reduces your stress before you even
start the day. Like maybe you're waking up, you have
a meeting you don't want to go to. You know
there's going to be traffic, you've already checked ways, and
you just like want to start that. You're upset about
(09:46):
the Dodger game less.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Yeah, you know so many things that you could be
thinking that way.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
So dimming the lights just reduces your stress. The entire
experience shifts a negative mindset into a calmer state before
you get going. And it's also beneficial at night. It
improves your sleep too. So if you do this the
same thing tonight, okay, you're gonna sleep way better. The
lack of bright light calms our nervous system. Some who
are really into now dark showering.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
I can't wait to trip and slip and break me too.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
I mean, be careful, there is that disclaimer. But they're
comparing this trend to a DIY SPA sash. Oh wow,
you add a little calm music, maybe a candle, a
warm water forget about it.
Speaker 5 (10:24):

it was such a nail bier last night Laker game

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Austin Leeves does it again. Yeah, yeah, We're Minnesota. Way
to go. That was a really nice adrenaline Boostrail needed
and he. The Rosebow Operating Company and the City of
Pasadena have fired the lawsuit against UCLA, accusing the university
of attempting to relocate its football team to SOFI. The
lawsuit claims that UCLA has been unequivocally expressing its intent
(11:52):
to abandon the Rose Bowl Stadium and relocate its home
football games to SOFI, calling the move a profound betrayal
of trust. The lawsuit highlights the significant taxpayer investments in
Rose Bowl renovations and also the least agreement with the stadium,
so stay tuned for that one. Health officials are warning
us of an unexpected increase in rabid bats slight irony
(12:13):
on a day before Halloween, but this is no trick
or treat. In the past three months, the La County
Health Department has gotten twenty calls with twenty confirmed bats
carrying rabies is even worse in Riverside County. Just FYI
official say we should never pick up or even touch
a bat, so don't. Once symptoms appear in humans, rabies
are almost always fatal. So stay oh wave or keeping

I'm on my way to work, and my thing is
I love the Dodgers all my life. I'm an LA girl.
They are a good team. And if we don't win
this time, the better team won. And it's all about sportsmanship.
We gotta look at everything that's going on in the
world and we gotta just smile.
Speaker 12 (13:50):
Look.
Speaker 13 (13:50):
I go into the Federal Building every day and keep
it and we make jokes about my getting paid because
we have to. We still I work with veterans. We
have to think about the bigger picture. The bigger picture
is this. It is a sport and you have to
be sportsmen like so if the better team this year
(14:13):
is Toronto, can so be it. It takes nothing away
from my Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (14:19):

Thank you, happy to be here. Ellen, Well, Christina has
something going on in our life. This is Christina.
Speaker 13 (20:37):
I went on this amazing day over the weekend and
I truly.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Had the best time with him. He dropped me off
at my door, he gave me like the sweetest kiss,
and he told me that he would call me. I
texted him back.
Speaker 9 (20:50):
Not even an hour later, and I haven't heard a
single thing from him.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
Did I text too soon?
Speaker 17 (20:57):
Okay, Christina, I don't think this has anything to do
with your text at all. If he was going to
reach out, I don't think that your text would have
precluded a reach out. It doesn't mean that you should
or shorten a text. It just means that he has
something going on that's completely separate from.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Your day, like marriage. Oh my god. No, but really,
so you think that there's no such thing as texting
too soon or not at all, or these little games
and the things that go through our minds. You think
that he's just preoccupied.
Speaker 17 (21:36):
I think that he's either preoccupied, something could be going on,
or who knows, his ex could have been waiting in
his driveway they flew into each other's arms. Something could
be the craziest circumstances.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
But I think if he.
Speaker 17 (21:51):
Wanted to connect with Christina again, then her text would
have been irrelevant.

I think he has something else going on.
Speaker 17 (22:00):
Yeah, either it was the kiss wasn't the sweetest kiss
to him. It was just sort of a you know, goodbye,
this is how I say goodbye at.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
The end of night. It didn't have the same significance
or you know.
Speaker 17 (22:15):
We never know what's going on in somebody else's life,
and when we replay things over and over in our head,
I think it's almost like we're trying to take responsibility
for something so we can change it.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Yeah, okay, while the other person's just trying to get
through it.
Speaker 17 (22:28):
Yeah, we're trying to re establish the locus of control.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Meaning it's up to us how things have played out.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
What it is really not?
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Yes, what the locus of control?
Speaker 7 (22:43):

Speaker 4 (25:24):

Speaker 1 (25:26):
The things I love about radio, always love about radio,
and that is all. We have, our voices and that
we can diagnosis, connect with each other. Carrie Steele is here,
and Carrie, we have not heard you on the air
for quite some time, and you have a lot of
courage to come in here to tell us what you've
(25:51):
been going through, what you're going through. So thank you
Carrie Steele for coming along and telling your story whenever you're.
Speaker 14 (26:01):
I like way too many people got a cancer diagnosis
and I had surgery September second the I had through
a series of diagnostics, a tumor was found in my
small intestine.
Speaker 4 (26:16):
Seventeen days later.
Speaker 14 (26:17):
As I'm still in the City of Hope, here in
Dwarty phenomenal facility, the best doctors in the world. I
was in the best hands and continue to be. I
ended up having to have a full whipple surgery. If
that sounds familiar. If you watch Gray's Anatomy.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
They talk about that a lot.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
I'm glad that Grey's anatomy can tell us too.
Speaker 14 (26:34):
And I know I'm making this sound very clinical, but
there's a you know, there's a lot of detail, but
I just I wanted to come in and let everybody know.
It's been hard to talk about because there's so many
questions that I didn't have answers to. But here I am,
and I am on the road to recovery.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
Hallelujah.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Every day it is a beautiful day, and.
Speaker 14 (26:56):
Mostly here to say, far too many people share a story,
so and there is life after one of the most
scariest diagon diagnosis you could get.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
Carrie. You've been poked and prodded and cut open and
stitched back up and and I know the City of
Hope saved your life.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
Yeah, you know, you.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Guys, I don't know. I met a lot of people.
City of Hope.
Speaker 14 (27:21):
Dwarty is just a campus full of people with my story,
you know, a different kind of cancer, a different kind
of road to recovery. But none of it is easy.
This is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life.
But I would not.
Speaker 18 (27:37):
Be sharing this story with you if I didn't have
someone by my side doing the things that needed to
be done.
Speaker 14 (27:45):
And I asked my doctors, what do you do if
you don't have someone that can just lovingly do these
things as they're worn out, And they said, well, they
you know, they got to go into different facilities and
you know that they're not going to get the kind
of care. So I am beyond blessed times a bazillion.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
Yeah. Yeah, what would you say to people in the
early stages of fear who have just been diagnosed, who
are looking for that hope faith?
Speaker 14 (28:13):
Obviously, I've felt like, you know, and you can believe
in the universe, God, the divine, whatever you call it,
because otherwise you're powerless, right you really, there's only so
much you can do. And then what I've found to
be the the what I wasn't expecting is.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
Just I'm sorry, it's okay.
Speaker 14 (28:35):
The overwhelming love that I have received.
Speaker 18 (28:41):
From everyone that I was finally able to kind of
let in. Yeah, So, you know, just that love and
support from the people you're closest to. You know, I'm
standing with you, They're standing with you, Your doctors are standing
with you, and you'll find there are so many resources
(29:02):
and people like me and whomever is sharing this story,
we all stand together.
Speaker 4 (29:12):
Like a small It's the L and K Morning Show.
Speaker 12 (29:17):
You make me laugh, you make me cry, every emotion
is there every single.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
This Sunday. Yeah, I am so proud. I want to
be representing Coast as the host of this event. And
you can imagine my surprise when I knew obviously that
Carrie was going to come in and share her story.
And I woke up the other day to Carrie joining
the team, making a donation and saying to me, yeah,
I'll be there, thank God.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
Yeah, yeah, she's been through it and she will get
back on the air as soon as her doctor say
yes it's okay. And we're thinking it's going to be
because she's healing so fast, because she has a great
attitude that she'll be back sooner than later.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
All right, it's been months really, and then look, if
you want to just come out and give carry a hug,
you don't even want to walk, just come, just say
Carrie We're glad you're here. It's walkfohope dot.
Speaker 1 (30:26):

Speaker 2 (31:50):
His walker has a big poster on the front of
it that just says Taylor Yeah.

yeah on it. So she guides him every day. And
Frank has a special message for Taylor.
Speaker 11 (32:06):

and with his permission, give her a hug.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
