but tracked all the way down the coast. And this
is a big boy. It's not a juvenile. Also, Seal
Beach is known as Ray Bay because there are so
many ray stingrays there and usually lifeguards get like one

sting ray a day, that's their average. But now they're
averaging twenty a day.

You can't bring yourself to get up the couch or
whatever and do it. So science has found that the
fastest way to get yourself started to do the things
you're putting off is to put on your shoes. Really,

put your shoes back on once you get home. The
second get your feet are inside shoes, it triggers a
signal to our brain. I agree with that.

on your feet and you've gotten things done, when your

but this does work. Pour a couple of cold ones
into a bucket and soak your feet in beer. What really, Yeah,
feet and cold beer. It is the best way to
soothe tired feet. Oh my gosh, I've never heard of
this before. I guess the bubbles would feel good. A
lot of carbonation.

Tim Venice Beach is an ocean swim coach. Tim, you
say that you've got some great tips for us if
we ever get stung. What happened to you?

I got my sting after about twenty years. I got
stung last year. I was walking out of the water
and it felt like I would maybe it's stepped on
a piece of sharp glass. Once I was out of
the water and the wound hit air, the pain was
just through the roof. Oh oh, and that's why they
tell you when you're going in and out of the water,
especially when razor around you, shuffle your feet. You drag

your feet while you're going in and out right, and
that will usually get them out of your path. Okay,
after you're stung, you want your foot in the hottest water.
You can stand for about thirty minutes.

Oh okay, what does that do? Suck out the venom
or whatever it is that they sting you with.

It does the hot water pulls the venom out of
the wound. Just change the water every ten minutes to
keep it really really hot.

man in Utah was driving his ATV through some desolate
and winding mountains, swerved, crash and was thrown forth in
fifty feet. He broke a bunch of bones, including both ankles.
He literally could not stand up, no one around for miles.
His dog Buddy, was also ejected from the vehicle, but
incredibly survived. Buddy initially dragged his owner and encouraged him

to crawl, which he did for eleven hours. They are
both back home and healing. Jacob Schmidt is his name.
He says it got bleak at times, but he was
never going to give up.

into a bucket and soak your feet in beer. What really, Yeah,

say that you've got some great tips for us if
we ever get stung. What happened to you?

I got my sting after about twenty years. I got
stung last year. I was walking out of the water
and it felt like I would maybe it's stepped on
a piece of sharp glass. Once I was out of
the water and the wound hit air, the pain was
just through the roof. Oh oh, and that's why they
tell you when you're going in and out of the water,
especially when razor around you, shuffle your feet. You drag
(09:49):
your feet while you're going in and out right, and
that will usually get them out of your path. Okay,
after you're stung, you want your foot in the hottest water.
You can stand for about thirty minutes.

Oh okay, what does that do? Suck out the venom
or whatever it is that they sting you with.

It does the hot water pulls the venom out of
the wound. Just change the water every ten minutes to
keep it really really hot.

And again, just you want to shuffle your feet when

incredibly survived. Buddy initially dragged his owner and encouraged him
