All right, this one takes the cake.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Okay, Well this comes from there's a book called Love
Without Her. It's by a psychiatrist, the therapist, Stephen Stosny.
He's a doctor, and he did a bunch of research
on what makes a couple stay together and not get divorced.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Is the therapist? Yeah, okay, today's therapy Thursday.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Yeah, Well he found that what keeps couples together is touch,
literally skin on skin, just a small touch to live happily.
Ever after, he says, set aside, just a couple of
minutes a day. It can take just a few seconds
of skin on skin contact, whether it's a hug kiss
in the morning, maybe a quick shoulder rub after work.
I don't know. A foot rub. It produces oxytocin immediately
(08:26):
and gives you that long lasting feeling of intness.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Oh wow, I say I love a head rub.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:31):
Tiffany Hattish was here. She likes a foot rub. Yeah,
so she would get that skin on skin.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Well, Calvin's girlfriend's mother's name is also Christina.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
You did not.

Good morning, I'm Ellen K.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
And now that George Gascon has been ousted as La
County DA, what does it mean for the Menendez brothers
and their possible prison release. His successor, Nathan Hoffman, will
assume that position on December second, which is before the
hearing to re sentence Eric and Lyle. Hawkman says he
plans to quote do the hard work to make the
right decision. So the way I will handle the Menendez
case is the way I handle every case.
Speaker 7 (11:58):
I will thoroughly go over the facts.
Speaker 5 (11:59):
Will Okay and Canada has directed TikTok to shut down
its Canadian offices, citing national security risks tied.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
To its Chinese owner, Byte Dance.
Speaker 5 (12:09):
Canadians can still access the app, though TikTok plans to
challenge the shutdown order in court. Meanwhile, TikTok base as
a possible US band January twenty twenty five if it
doesn't divest from its parent company Byte Dance. And what
about the Lakers? Losing three out of the last four.
Lakers are now four and four. They just dropped to
the Memphis Grizzlies last night. Head coach JJ Reddick is
(12:30):
on his last nerve.
Speaker 13 (12:32):
JJ, you're talking a lot about two out of the three,
two or three guys getting them to put in the effort,
and talked a lot about wanting to play hard and
Lebron being the guy that played hard in tonight's game.
How do you address that with the team. What's your
philosophy for approaching I.
Speaker 9 (12:45):
Just did.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
And he walked down. All right?
Speaker 5 (12:51):
Maybe JJ Reddick needs this. Decorating early for Christmas makes

You guys are absolutely the.
Speaker 8 (13:36):
Best Coast one oh three point five.
Speaker 5 (13:38):
A lot of emotions happen, you know, around the holidays.
Speaker 15 (13:44):
And.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
Ye know we'll have to deal with it with you.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
And we get your letters, your letters to Ellen, and
thank you so much for writing to us.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
We had a letter from a letter.
Speaker 5 (13:57):
So yesterday we got a letter from m and he
said that he and his family have a big problem
because his dad is out there dating after their mother
passed away two years ago, and the dad is giving
all of his attention to these different girls juggling forward
a time. It was even on an out of town
date with one of them as of yesterday. So EM
is very concerned, wants his dad back, doesn't recognize who
(14:20):
this person is. Thank you so much for all of
your calls to help em, because it matters more. I
think at the holidays, we're going to have time to
be together, and so I think that's why it's bothering
em so much.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
So EM wrote us another letter, a letter of the letter.
Speaker 5 (14:38):
Okay, dear Ellen, thank you for reading my letter on
the show. I couldn't believe it when I heard it
on the radio. I called my sisters right away. They
immediately tuned in. I wanted to give you an update
on my dad's dating, being that he just got back
from his out of state blind date. My brother, who
joined him on his trip, said that Dad was being
overly levey dovey with this new woman. He tried to
(14:59):
hold hands in hugg way too much, and the woman
seemed like she was not into him. What's shocking about
the whole thing is that he never showed affection like
that in public with our mom. It's completely out of
character for us to see him like this. I feel
like we didn't just lose my mom, but also my dad.
Please thank all of the listeners for their advice. This
is really helpful to us. So I guess the dad
(15:22):
is not only out there dating a lot, but he's
acting a different way than he ever did with their mom,
his life partner of fifty years.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Just going to jump in here, all right, right, I
expected you to do. Yeah, so sorry yesterday, your big
sort of you know, I don't know. Your problem with
the situation was that he wasn't spending time with the family, right,
He was kind of like abandoning the family for these
four different girls. Let's go back to what you just
read in this letter. He said my brother who joined
him on this trip. Yeah, he's combining family time with
(15:53):
girly time.
Speaker 5 (15:54):
He just wanted he just wanted to bro to travel with.
That's what I think.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
He's spending time with his son. Cares what they're doing.
Speaker 5 (16:01):
I think the sun merely transported him and made sure
he was okay so that he could go grope this woman.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
It sounded like he wanted a wingman. That's what I got,
all right. I agree, Thank you, producer mich for Jimmy dar.
What do you think I'm gonna let my dad have it?
If this is my dad, me too, me too.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
You wouldn't want to spend quality time with your dad
on an out of state trip, no matter what his
motives are.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
That is not quality time. That is him pawing at
another pawing, groping and pied another woman, not my mother,
who he never he never showed that kind of affection to.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
You can't win with you.

Speaker 5 (22:31):
Sarah Dashes here our licensed therapist. Thank you Sarah for
coming in therapy Thursday. I just want to say and
to you too, Ryan, because I know we've had chats
before just about friendship and relationships, and it always feels
good to have a heart to heart with a friend
and someone you trust absolutely to get it off your chest.
It just always feels good. And Sarah's here for you
(22:53):
if anything's troubling you. Sarah comes in every Thursday for
therapy Thursday, and we got this letter. I think that
I would love to know what you think of this
as a licensed therapist. Okay, Dear Ellen, I'm in a
bit of a dilemma. I don't know how to handle
it gracefully. My husband's best friend has been a big
part of his life for years. I've always been supportive
(23:14):
of them. However, his best friend's wife and I do
not get along It's nothing dramatic. She hasn't done anything wrong,
but I find her company draining and we have nothing
in common. Every time we get together, I end up
feeling uncomfortable. I just want to leave. The problem is
my husband loves hanging out with them as a couple.
I don't want to create any tension. I've tried being
(23:35):
polite and pushing through for his sake, but it's getting
harder and harder. I'd rather avoid these gatherings altogether. How
can I manage the situation without making it uncomfortable for
my husband or his friend.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
I mean, when I.
Speaker 15 (23:47):
Hear this, it sounds like something more is going on.
Speaker 5 (23:51):
That's what I'm thinking too. How can you just be
uncomfortable in the presence of another person.
Speaker 15 (23:57):
It's like, well, this is kind of draining. This person
does X Y and see. I mean, this sounds like
a bigger deal.
Speaker 5 (24:02):
I think that possibly this husband and his best friend
have had a past together that WIFEY doesn't agree with.
Maybe they were wild at one time.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Well, look, you've dealt with this with your husband and
his friend his friend bush.
Speaker 5 (24:18):
Yes, okay, they were running Buddies, nightclub, nights girls, the
whole thing. Single life and they're still friends, and when
he comes, I know that I feel uncomfortable because they
both share a past that didn't include me.
Speaker 15 (24:34):
I do wonder that as well, because it may be
easier to dislike the new wife than to dislike the husband. Yeah,
you know, maybe there's always been a desire to spend
less time together and now you know, this woman could
be a bit of a scapegoat.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 5 (24:52):
That's what I'm thinking too, because you know, Ryan, when
you bring someone around, you've got this it's like, guys
have this understanding.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
It could even just be a look, yeah for sure,
like oh yeah remember when Yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
Didn't didn't Roy's friend Bush come to your wedding with
a cast and a bloody nose?
Speaker 15 (25:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Yeah, see what I said. That's what I mean.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
It's like, what's up with this guy?
Speaker 1 (25:12):
What's what? Why?
Speaker 2 (25:13):
You guys say?
Speaker 1 (25:14):
Yeah? Do I want to know? No? No, I don't
really want to know.
Speaker 5 (25:17):
But maybe that's what's happening here, that the you know
that it's not about the wife, it's about the it's
about the buddy, and let's just not go there. And
maybe you're going to be forced into this situation this
holiday season where you go in and you just don't
want to be in the same room.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
So what do you do? My husband and I have
reached a point.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
I mean, we've been together twenty years now, so we
know each other enough to know don't even put them
in that situation.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Just straight past.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
I'm not going, oh so, but but okay, So let's
say you let's say your husband Alex has a friend
that you don't necessarily fight and he does and he yeah,
like Ellen said, he does, so what so he does.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Going he can go?
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Oh, I have something else to do.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
I think that's a good solution. Ryan can't do everything again,
all right.
Speaker 5 (26:10):
Our number eight hundred and nine two nine kost the
same number you will use when you win your way
in to our private holiday party, and that is just ahead.

After calling I Donald Trump to congratulate him on the reelection.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
She continued on.
Speaker 5 (26:44):
While I conceide this election, I do not concede the
fight that fueled this campaign. Kamla Harris and California voters
have approved a measure making some shoplifting and drug offens
as felonies. Approving a ballot measure seeking harsher punishment for
retail crimes including shoplifting and theft, Repeat offenders may now
(27:05):
be charged with felonies under Prop thirty six. Crimes involving drugs,
including synthetic opioid fentanyl, will also hold harsher penalties under
this measure. And it's a Louis Viton selling a sixty
thousand dollars dog house. It's part of their new petline
that also includes a twenty two hundred dollars dog bowl.
The whole thing is covered in tan and brown Louis
Viton pattern they use on their purses. It's technically a kennel,
(27:28):
so an indoor doghouse. If you left it outside, you
would ruined. The quote, cowhide, leather trim and monogram coated canvas.
It also comes as gold tone hardware, a removable door
and a hidden hatch on the bottom for easy cleaning.
Oh and if you really want to go full Louis Viton,
you can also buy a pet flask for twenty three
hundred dollars. That's to carry your dog's water around the home.
(27:49):
Get the whole thing for just under seventy grand and
our red flag warning remains in place again Today we
stay super dry only five percent humidity, not ideal at
all for our fire crews. You're sixty five for your
high landwood, you'll see seventy five and it's fifteen nine

Post one oh three point by well Em wrote us
a letter, a letter to Ellen, concerned about his dad.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
Mom passes away two years ago. Dad is seventy out
there Dayton a lot of girls half his age foreign
rotation at the moment, and Em sent us a follow
up letter, Dear Ellen, thank you for reading my letter
on the show. I want to give you a little
update on my dad's dating, being that he just got
back from his out of state blind date and this
(29:30):
was across the border in Mexico. My brother, who joined
him on his trip, said that Dad was being overly
touchy feely with this new woman and he was trying
way too hard. The woman seemed like she was not
into him. What's shocking about this whole thing is he
never showed any affection like that to our mom. I
(29:50):
feel like we didn't just lose my mom, we also
lost my dad. Thanks to all your listeners for all
their advice, because we're getting a lot of calls about this.
So brothers goes to Mexico with the dad. The dad
is trying hard to I like, just light a spark,
ignite something, and it sounds like you got shot down.
(30:14):
So she wasn't going for it. But Ray, thank you
so much for calling.
Speaker 6 (30:18):
You have a comment, and my comment was that you know,
every every pression has a right to have its own
decision and spend time and time. If he's in the
end of his you know that life and trying to
be happy. Well, I see that.
Speaker 5 (30:36):
He should be able to pursue his happiness, which I
agree with, but I just feel like involving the kids
is weird, and then doing it in front of the kids.
I don't want to see my dad like holding hands
with another woman or guessing her.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
You start the sentence by saying you agree with him
pursuing his happiness, but it comes with conditions. You don't
want to see it then, but you stay in the
hotel room.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
He can do it, you just don't do it in
front of me.
Speaker 8 (31:04):
Then don't work.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
But he did it in front of his sign.
Speaker 6 (31:11):
Hell, let me tell you Hell, let me tell you this.
Speaker 16 (31:14):
I've been running around the wall and I listened to you,
a big lawyer to this stasion. I've been listening for
so many years, and I've been every day. I wake
up with your program and I enjoy and you know,
you made me feel back at home.

I was traveling. I went to kill Uh Nika, I Havador,
and every single day I've been listening to you.

Speaker 5 (32:11):
And the mountain fire burning fourteen thousand, five hundred acres.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
Homes are burned.
Speaker 5 (32:15):
The fire is spread to you Camerillo on More Park
and beyond. Firefighters on the scene there now will keep
you updated. But it is a smoky, horrible scene as
people are losing their homes and firefighters just working so
hard on that blaze to try to get some containment going.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
And what about this?
Speaker 5 (32:33):
Now that George Gascon has been ousted as La County DA,
what does it mean for the Menendez brothers and their
possible prison release. His successor, Nathan Hackman, will assume that
position on December second, which is before the hearing to
re sentence Eric and Lyle Hawkman says he plans to
do quote the hard work to make sure the right
decision is made.
Speaker 7 (32:51):
So the way I will handle the Menendez case is
the way I'd handle every case. I will thoroughly go
over the faction.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
The law, all right? And what about this?
Speaker 5 (33:00):
A seventy seven year old piece of Queen Elizabeth and
Prince Philip's wedding cake. Just sold it auction for twenty
eight hundred dollars. It's a towering nine foot tall wedding cake.
It weighed five hundred pounds, made during wartime rationing and
fortified with alcohol for preservation. The lucky buyer from China
snag this slice of royal history by placing the winning
bid over the phone, and is thrilled to have it
